The hour is late. Jungkook is tipsy, far more than he thought he’d get tonight, but then again, Taehyung is not in a better state, and Sera, Jimin’s girlfriend, had to force him to go home before they got too drunk.
They’re all supposed to help Taehyung’s little sister move in tomorrow, Jungkook included.
“Man,” Taehyung lets out, and Jungkook looks away from the game of Smash they’re playing - that he’s majestically losing - to focus on Taehyung.
“What?” he lets out.
“Can’t believe Y/n will be here tomorrow,” Taehyung answers.
“Can’t believe you’re forcing me to live with a girl.”
Taehyung chuckles. “Don’t worry, Y/n is chill.”
Jungkook doesn’t doubt she is, considering how well he gets along with Taehyung, and Taehyung’s made it seem that he gets along well with his sister. He imagines Y/n’s just going to be a mini Taehyung, which frankly could be fun to have around.
But he doesn’t know anything about her other than the fact that she is Taehyung’s little sister.
“You know,” Taehyung adds as the game finishes. “I meant to tell you something.”
Jungkook cocks his pierced eyebrow in question. “Yeah?”
“Just wanted to say that if you touch my sister, you’re fucking dead.”
Jungkook bursts out laughing, shaking his head, but Taehyung remains entirely serious. Like he meant what he just said - could he?
“You’re joking right?” Jungkook asks as his laughter fades away.
“No, I’m dead ass,” Taehyung insists. “You breathe in her direction, and you’re dead.”
“Damn.” Jungkook widens his gaze, and then picks up the beer he’s been slowly drinking since Jimin left. “Understood.”
Hell, Jungkook knows that he sleeps around. Taehyung does the same - he can’t help but understand Taehyung when he says to stay away from his sister. And he thinks it’ll be easy. Y/n’s probably just going to be a clueless baby college kid, and though Jungkook doesn’t mind going for younger, he’ll have plenty of new faces to explore once Frosh week starts next week anyways.
So he promises Taehyung he has nothing to worry about, and they play a couple more games before they head to bed.
Jungkook wakes up early the next morning, the sun shining right in his face the most efficient alarm he’s ever used before. He wants to go to the gym before helping Taehyung’s sister, and though he hates being awake so early, he immediately forces himself to get up lest he falls back asleep.
His workout goes well, and he’s pleasantly sore when he heads back home. He’s lucky - he manages to park not too far from the apartment. He’s walking home, gym bag in one hand and his phone in the other, when Taehyung texts him to ask where he is.
Jungkook types ‘Fuck off’, pressing send as his attention is solely on his phone.
Until said phone flies out of his hand as he collides with a girl he didn’t notice, and Jungkook watches in horror as the device falls in a flower bed.
“Shit, I’m so sorry,” you say, and you immediately dive into the flower bed, retrieving Jungkook’s phone.
You hand it to him, and Jungkook just stares at you, mouth agape. He’s aware he’s staring and that he probably looks stupid, but he’s dumbfounded.
You’re the most beautiful girl he’s ever seen, and he’s seen a lot.
“Don’t worry about it,” he answers quickly when you cock an eyebrow, your cheeks slowly turning red. “I wasn’t looking where I was going.”
“At least it didn’t break,” you say, and you flash him a quick smile.
It does things to his heart that Jungkook barely comprehends - it’s like his heart is going miles a minute, yet it’s soothing, warm, much like the pavement feels in the summer when the sun has just dipped below the horizon.
“Right, yeah,” Jungkook answers, and his cheeks burn.
His cheeks fucking burn, and he wishes he could just disappear, dive below the ground until you can’t see him anymore. You just keep on smiling, eyes never disconnecting from his, and he wonders if you, too, feel like he does.
Shit, he thinks he might even hear bells in the distance.
You glance away, and it’s like he’s falling forward while not moving at all, and all he can do is pathetically clear his throat, as if that’s going to offer any help.
“I see you’ve met Y/n!” Taehyung yells from behind you, and Jungkook freezes.
Jungkook freezes, and then something burns in his lungs, like he’s under the surface struggling for futile oxygen he knows he won’t find.
You are… Taehyung’s sister.
You’re Y/n.
His best friend’s little sister.
The one thing Jungkook can’t have.
It makes him feel cold, his heart suddenly dropping in the Arctic sea amongst the icebergs.
“We literally ran into each other,” you say, looking back towards your brother.
And Jungkook sees it - your hair is the same shade as Taehyung’s, your face has the same shape. The smile though - your smile is different from Taehyung’s, and maybe that’s why he was fooled.
Fooled for a few seconds which felt like an eternity.
You walk away then, heading to the open back door of a car. You grab a box, and Jungkook puts his phone in his pocket, eyeing a bag on the backseat.
“Do you want me to bring this in?” he asks.
Only because he wants you to look at him again. His heart flutters in his chest when you do, and he forces it down with a swallow as you nod once.
“Yes, please!”
Jungkook nods too, and he grabs the bag before following you in. His right foot lands on the first step leading to the apartment when Taehyung stops him with a hand on his arm.
Jungkook frowns slightly, meeting his best friend’s gaze.
“I’m serious, JK,” Taehyung says through gritted teeth. “You fucking touch her, you’re dead.”
And Jungkook knows right then and there that he’s fucked. Entirely, thoroughly, immensely fucked.
Because he already wants you, and he hasn’t even talked to you for more than twenty seconds.
“Don’t worry,” he reassures Taehyung, and he hopes Taehyung can’t hear how fake he sounds.
How is he supposed to resist indulging in you when he already knows you’re all he’s ever wanted?
He really is entirely, thoroughly, immensely fucked.

Experimental: Postpartum
It was a rough 24 hours following the birth of the babies, but the quick-thinking duo of Mike and Anna were able to rapidly stabilise the internal bleeding resulting from Yazan’s body rejecting the uterus. Randy barely got any sleep as he stayed by Yazan’s bedside to make sure he and the babies were okay. The team fed Yazan through a drip to ensure that he could produce milk for the babies. Randy helped get the breast pumps set up to feed the babies by bottle.
After a week in a medically induced coma, the team decided to try and wake up Yazan. In what could only be described as a miracle, Yazan woke up. He groaned and turned to face Randy. Randy tightly gripped Yazan’s hands as he burst into tears. “Oh my god, Yaz! You scared me for a hot minute!”
“Wh-where’s my babies?” Yazan looked down at his breasts being pumped and his smaller belly and rapidly looked around the room.
“Yaz, your babies are alright. They’re in the nursery next door. We can bring them in.”
Yazan started crying intensely as he realised just how close he was to never being able to see his kids that he grew so attached to over the months. Randy got up and hugged Yazan tightly, kissing his head as they both cried together. “You’re alright, babe.”
After a further two weeks at the RPA, the team provided clearance for Yazan and the babies to be discharged. All four of the babies passed their tests with flying colours, which Randy had great pleasure in running. Yazan felt sore from both being in a coma and as his body started to readjust back to a vague presentation of itself before he got pregnant.
“Hey, before you go, I just have something I need to sort out with you. Can we talk privately?” Mike said to Yazan. They walked towards a courtyard table and sat, Yazan groaning as he tried to contort his legs to sit.
“You are one incredible man, you know that right? I truly cannot believe how incredibly strong and courageous you are. Take away the history of being the first man to successfully carry children to term, you are now a father to four beautiful children. And that man over there,” Mike said as he pointed towards Randy. “That man loves everything about you. He literally did not leave your bedside until we forced him to go back to the apartment to ‘grab things’. He ran all the tests and did all the feedings of the babies. That is true love right there.”
Yazan glanced back at Randy, who was holding a coffee while chatting with Anna. Randy looked back and smiled at Yazan.
“I can’t be a barrier to true love. So, I spoke with a family lawyer, and I’m going to get the process started on relinquishing my parental responsibilities. I have also arranged for Randy to speak with another lawyer to get the ball rolling on getting the kids American passports, because technically your kids are just Australians at the moment.”
Yazan looked up at Mike and quietly said, “Thank you. I am so sorry for being an asshole.”
“I’ll blame the hormones, it’s fine.” Mike and Yazan chuckled as they sipped their cups of coffee.

Tumblr media
After a couple more weeks of interviews, urgent Family Court hearings and interviews at the United States Consulate in Sydney, Yazan was granted sole parental responsibility of the four kids, and the four kids were granted American citizenship. From there, it was just a matter of getting the kids back to the United States to start their new life together, alongside Randy.
Randy relished the opportunity to be a father, and took a strong lead in supporting Yazan to settle into a routine. This also included selling his apartment downtown and moving in with Yazan to the newly expanded family home. Randy did a lot of the day chores, like cleaning, cooking and bills, while Yazan focused on feeding the babies and other odd bits of chores as needed.
Yazan awkwardly had to explain to the hospital’s HR that he needed to move to part-time work as he had four babies to look after. His cause was not helped when his breasts started to leak milk during the meeting. However, he managed to arrange 3 full months of leave, and would slowly transition back to 3 days a week. Randy also took two weeks paternity leave, which he was surprised HR agreed to.
Over the days and weeks, Yazan and Randy found their groove as they settled into their new life with Anna, Michael, Tanner and Richard. Yazan chose Anna and Michael to recognise the incredible support they gave during the birth, and Randy chose Tanner and Richard after other close colleagues at work.
They never truly explained to friends what happened. However, their friend Tanner was clued into Yazan’s growing belly, but never commented in fear it was just regular weight gain. Yazan quietly told Tanner the full story over lunch one day as he brought the kids in to see his haematology colleagues, plus Randy.
***
Yazan was getting himself ready one morning before the kids woke up, and sighed as he looked in the mirror. His entire body had transformed from the muscular hunk he was known to be at the hospital to an overweight man with actual breasts that needed to be pumped to avoid unexpected leakages. He started to wonder whether he could ever get his pre-baby body back.
Tumblr media
As Yazan walked out of the bedroom and into the living room, Randy noticed Yazan’s demeanour.
“Hey, babe, how are you feeling today?”
“I feel disgusting today.”
“What brought that feeling?”
“I just.. I mean, look at me! I’m a fucking cow with full-grown double-D tits. I still look like I’m pregnant and I just… I just want this to go back to normal.”
Randy stood up and slowly walked towards Yazan, who felt ashamed.
“I know I should be proud because my body went through so much to bring these kids into the world, and I get to sustain life with these breasts, but I’m not a man anymore. I’m just… a baby machine!”
Randy chuckled as he hugged Yazan tightly, kissing him on the forehead. “Rightio, Yaz. As you said, you have gone through so much. And you know what, you’re alive, the kids are alive, and if the price to pay at the moment is that you have some love handles, is that really the end of the world?”
“No…”
“Right. I love you, Yaz. I love all of you, every nook and crevice. And yes, I even love your belly and your tits. Why? Because you are so much stronger than any other man on Earth. You have literally done what no other man has done: bring new life. That is beyond incredible, babe! Heck, if I could, I would.”
“Don’t say that too loudly, I still have Mike’s number.”
“You get the point! I love you and I will be there for you, regardless of how you look or how you’ve changed or what’s happened. You are who I want to be with for my whole life.”
Yazan raised an eyebrow as he saw Randy step back and bend down on one knee.
“Randy.. What are you doing?”
“Look, I don’t have a ring, but I’ll ask anyway: I love you, Yazan. I want to spend the rest of my life with you… Yazan, will you marry me?”
Yazan’s eyes widened as he realised what Randy just asked. He beamed and quietly screamed out “Yes!”. As he ran towards Randy to hug and kiss, they heard the baby monitor squeal with the four babies awake.
***
Six months later, Yazan and Randy managed to tie the knot. They didn’t want to wait much longer, and didn’t necessarily care for a lot of the formalities, given the unconventional nature of how they became a family, so it was fairly easy to arrange the wedding at a civil registry, and then arrange a low-key dinner with friends, family and other loved ones.
They invited Mike and Anna to come along from Australia to the ceremony. They were delighted to be invited, and eagerly accepted a separate invite from Yazan to come to their place and see the kids.
As Anna was holding up baby Anna, Mike got to chatting with Randy and Yazan. “So, we have some news from the research side of things. The university provisionally approved further research.”
“Oh, amazing! That’s good to hear.” Randy said.
“Yeah, it was a bit stressful trying to explain at a high level what happened, but the university saw the merit in continuing the research into the hormone supplements to see what sort of expanded uses it could help with. And, Yazan, you’d be pleased to know that the research approval had nothing to do with your pregnancy.”
“Wait, what? How?” Yazan was confused.
“Well… I hadn’t actually told anyone at the time, but when you were being discharged from hospital, I was actually 12 weeks pregnant.”
Randy and Yazan’s eyes widened in shock. Mike pulled out his phone to show his lock screen photo. It showed a small baby girl. “This is Shayna.” Randy and Yazan joyfully hugged Mike as Mike started to tear up in happiness too.
“I’ve been doing this research for years because I so desperately wanted to have a child of my own. My dream has come true.” Mike said through tears.
***
A year later, the four kids had grown into their own distinct personalities. Anna was the boss and had no hesitation in getting her brothers to do what she wanted. Michael was inquisitive, always waddling around the house looking for something exciting to do. Tanner was quieter, sometimes in his own world, but always happy and joyful. And Richard was energetic, always running around the house and making Yazan and Randy’s lives busier than it already was.
As they settled the four kids into bed, Yazan and Randy slid onto the sofa and sighed.
Randy sighed, “Ahh, isn’t this bliss? The kids are asleep, the house is clean, everyone is fed, and I now have a nice glass of red.”
“Yep, cheers to that.” Yazan replied as they clinked their glasses. “Hey babe, I was thinking today…”
“You know I don’t like it when you start phrases like that!”
“Randy, you’ll like this idea! I was thinking… about seeing whether Mike was really correct about the uterus and ovary being fully-functional?”
“Huh, what?”
“You know how I vented that the magic salt -”
“The hormonal supplements?”
“Yes, the hormonal supplements caused me to grow a fully-functioning uterus and ovary… I was wondering whether you wanted to see if that hypothesis was correct?”
“Are you saying you want another child?”
“In other words, yes.”
Randy scooched over towards Yazan and sensually kissed his lips. “I’ve been wondering whether you would ever say yes to having another child.”
Yazan moaned, “I want you to breed me with your kid, or kids.”
They slowly took each other’s shirts off and continued to make out on their sofa. We’ll clean this up tomorrow, Yazan thought as he took his shorts off and prepared to take Randy’s dick once again in his manpussy.
***
Tumblr media
One lazy Saturday morning, Yazan was sitting at the dining table, making sure the kids ate their scrambled eggs and toast. Randy turned around with two plates filled with a classic Yazan breakfast: scrambled eggs, bacon, avocado, salt and pepper and toast.
As Randy put the plate of food down in front of Yazan, Yazan’s nose twitched. He felt a sudden wave of nausea.
“Babe, are you o-”
Yazan ran to the closest bathroom and vomited into the toilet. Randy quickly calmed the kids down then moved across to Yazan in the bathroom. He knocked on the door. “Babe? Are you okay?”
Yazan groaned. Randy opened the door and saw Yazan sitting near the toilet bowl, looking worse for wear.
“Should I run past the pharmacist and get a test?”
The End
Note from Woody: Just want to send a massive thank you to everyone for their lovely words and motivation to get this over the line. It's been a labour of love, so to speak... In particular, a massive thank you to @bigmpregnm for both the morphs and the support!

Could you write mean!dom Bellamy Blake waiting for the reader to tire herself out after throwing a tantrum and then punishing her for it? Thank you so much!! 🥰
note: we almost forgot how rude and cocky Bellamy Blake is. that man is somehting else…
———
“Do your best, princess,” Bellamy said as he watched y/n struggle against the restraints he put her in. “C’mon, baby, it shouldn’t be that hard,” he continued to tease her as she struggled.
He had the young lady naked and tied so tight, her skin began to burn. Maybe if she didn’t walk around, flirting with Finn, she wouldn’t be like this.
“As soon as we get a nice place to sleep in, you wanna sneak around with Finn. I thought you better then that,” Bellamy said as he enjoyed watching the tears stream from her eyes.
“I didn’t flirt with me! H-He showed me secrets rooms, that’s all. I swear!” Y/n said as she continued to try her best to get free, but it wasn’t looking well for her.
“Oh, yeah, of course — He only showed you paintings. Then made you a painting, ain’t that somehtin,” y/n knew it looked bad, but she swore she wanted nothing from Finn. He was just a good and fun friend to explore with.
“I-I’m sorry, just, stop this,” y/n felt embarrassed as Bellamy got up from the chair he’s been sitting in for almost an hour. “Stop what? I can’t let you go anywhere,” the look Bellamy had, frightened y/n, but this was her fault.
“Y-You’re so mean,” y/n said, knowing Bellamy was teasing her to see her cry. He always did, but that was her fault for putting herself in a situation like this almost every week.
“Oh, really?” Bellamy asked as he saw y/n’s one hand getting loose. “Yes!” She yelled at him right before she got her hand out. She quickly began to get her other hand free, then went to her feet.
Bellamy told her almost an hour again to calm down, and maybe he’d let her go. Now she’s getting free herself, and he’ll let her — Only for a couple of seconds, thought.
Right as y/n got free, she got up and went to run towards the bathroom, but he lunged on the bed and pulled her into him. “C’mere,” Bellamy voice echoed through her head as he pinned her to the bed.
“Just look at you — A fuckin’ brat. You think because you’re a pretty little thing, that I won’t ruin you? Huh!?” Y/n has never seen Bellamy this upset at her before.
“Get off of me! I hate you!” She yelled, but it was all a lie. They both knew it, but Bellamy was willing to act. “Oh, yeah — You hate me? Well, I’m going to make you hate me more,”
Bellamy moved and pulled himself out of his pants faster than she could think. At first, she thought he leaned up to get off of her, but after she felt him right back on her, she knew she was in for something tonight.
“No- I’m done with this. I’m done!” Y/n said, feeling embarrassed that she doesn’t sound serious enough for him to believe her. “Yeah, you’re so done with me tonight,”
Bellamy chuckled in y/n’s ear as he pushed into her, filling her to the hilt. “So done,” Bellamy breathed out as he felt her clinch around her multiple times. He knew she needed him as soon as he tied her down.
“Bell,” y/n whined as her back arched. Bellamy pushed her waist down to force her to keep her back on the bed, as his free hand snaked around her neck. “Take it, and maybe I’ll forgive you,”
Before you/n could argue against what the man was angry about today, he snapped his hips, fucking into her harder than she knew he could.
Y/n’s eyes rolled back as her mouth slacked, letting Bellamy know she was close. “Can he do this to you? Can he get this pussy goin?” Y/n shook her head no, but he didn’t believe her. He was pretty sure she cheated at least once.
“Let’s go ask him after this,”

Attachment Issues (Joel Miller x f!Reader)
Tumblr media
Word count: 2k words
Warnings: 18+ only (minors DNI!), established relationship, I can't remember if its mentions but age gap (reader is in her twenties, Joel is in his 50s), smut (p in v, unprotected), oral (male receiving)
A/N: I miss my man guys 😔, gif credits: @/manny-jacinto
Tumblr media
Joel went on a trip with Tommy to spend time together after being apart for a while, he told you about the trip a few weeks before but you didn’t think much about when you lived in the QZ he would leave on runs and you would you too. But on the second day, you started to miss him and he was supposed to be gone for almost two weeks.
You didn’t think you were that attached but you were wrong. you tried to do things around the communication to help out and take your mind off of it but when you laid down in your bed it felt too big for you, too cold and empty. You miss feeling his back against your chest as you slept, you miss waking up to him playing his guitar early in the morning and going for rides on the horses late at night.
It was the third day since he left, and you woke up to Ellie banging on your door waking you up. “Come on, you've been sleeping all morning, get uppp!!” she yelled as you rolled her eyes. you sighed and reluctantly got out the bed and answered the door.
“Ellie, I have no shifts or anything today. Why are you screaming at me?” you go to close the door, but she forces it open and enters you and joel’s room. you sighed as you lay back down on the bed. you watch as she goes to sit on the bed before she stops and looks at it.
“Ew you guys probably have sex here huh, i’ll sit on the floor.” she cringed before sitting crisscross on the floor across from you.
“What do you want Ellie,” you ask rolling your eyes annoyed and choosing to ignore the sex comment.
“I’m not letting you mope around like a sad puppy because he isn’t here.” you smile slightly, appreciating the gesture, but you can’t help it. You felt like something was missing. You just missed him too much,
“Yea Ellie I know I feel stupid but i can’t help it and i don’t even know why i’m missing him so much. We would go more than a week not seeing each other back at the QZ and I was fine.” you said as you lay your head on the bed.
“Well you’ve been traveling across the country for months you literally didn’t spend a day apart.” she comments in a tone that makes it sound obvious, and the more you thought about it she was right, for months you’ve been right by his side.
“That’s true but that’s doesn’t help me get over it.” you shrugged, slumping further into the bed.
She stands up and grabs your hands pulling you off the bed “let’s first start but getting out of the sex bed and out of the room that’s reminds you of him.” you roll your eyes and stand up.
“Stop don’t call it that it’s just a bed.” you lightly scold her as she leads you out of the room. you spent the rest of the day helping out around and watching movies, then you slept in her room instead of yours and Joel and it helped. you still miss him but nearly as bad.
Two days later you were feeding the sheep with Ellie when you hear horses pulling into the stables you turn and see Tommy and couldn’t help handing the food to Ellie and you ran over to the stables knowing Joel was back. When you were there you could barely wait for Joel to get off his horse before you crash into him hugging your arms around him and relaxing against his chest. you hear Tommy laugh but you don’t care.
“Hey darling, you really missed me huh?” he asks as he hugs you back, placing a short kiss on the side of your head.
“Just a little,” you mumble against his chest you hear Ellie laugh behind you.
“Oh yea, because missing him so much you could barely get out of bed the first couple days is a “little” she teased as you flipped her off for a few seconds before going back to hugging Joel.
“Well, he wasnt much better, kept complaining about how much he missed her we had come back home early.” Tommy adds as he finishes putting the horses away.
You pull away slightly, looking up at him “really you missed me that much too” he nods and pressing a soft kiss on your lips.
“Missed you so fucking much it was hell being away for so long” you smile and stand next to him, grabbing his hand and holding it yours as you lead him back to your house. Joel follows your lead, chuckling a bit. He lets go of your hand to lightly pinch your ass before holding it again.
“Looks like you missed me in more ways than one huh honey.” he teases. You were about to reply when you heard Tommy catch up to you and Joel.
“You two better be safe, he's too damn old to have a baby” he calls out as he playfully pushes Joel's shoulder before walking away.
Joel rolls his eyes as he pulls you closer against him as much as physically possible as you approach your house. When you're both inside he quickly closes the door and pushes you against it before putting his lips on yours, you close your eyes and put your arms around his waist, and you melt into him. You part your lips allowing his tongue to slip inside your mouth. after a few minutes, he pulls away to catch his breath.
“Missed you so much, Joel,” you whine against him as he nods.
“Missed you too princess fuck I missed you so goddamn much.” He grabs your hand and places it down his jeans, feeling his hard bulge. you moan slightly before rubbing your hand slowly up and down through his boxers before removing your hand.
“Bedroom Joel,” you mutter as you realize you are still by the front door. He follows you up to your bedroom you take your shoes and jeans off and wait as Joel closes and locks the door. You watch as he takes off his shoes and unbuckles his jeans to take them off. you walk up to him and unbutton his shirt slowly while looking up into his eyes.
“You look so hot in buttons up,” you blurt out, and you slide the shirt off and place marks along his chest. He smiles lightly before moans replace it.
“Good to know baby.” he gently pushes you off of him and takes off his boxers before sitting on the bed. you climb onto the bed, straddling him hovering over his throbbing cock. You spit in your hand before grabbing his dick and rubbing it slowly against your wet slit.
Joel closes his eyes and throws his head back “fuck baby,” he whines and shudders under your touch. After a few minutes, you line his cock along your entrance and slowly sink down onto him. you let out a gasp as he moans and grabs onto your hips roughly.
He opens his eyes and looks at you, full of lust, but he is still concerned, “you alright, baby?”
You nod “mmhm just-fuck- you’re big still have to get used to it.” you breathe out as you feel your brain starts foggy from arousal. after a few seconds, you start rolling your hips as you grind against him. You bite your lip trying to keep quiet knowing the walls are thin.
Joel shakes his head and brings his finger to your lips, opening them “uh uh wanna hear, you sound so pretty moaning for me.” You clench around him at his words before you open your mouth, letting out small gaps and moans. But you were still quiet, and Joel knew that. he holds onto your hips, stopping their movement before he thrust his hips up, pounding his dick deeper inside you.
“Ah-ah Joel fuck-oh my god!” you moan out significantly lounder than before, making Joel smile.
“Atta girl-fuck-let me hear you, missed those pretty sounds.” He praises as he continues thrusting into you, the pornographic sounds of your skin smacking your combined moans filling the room. You feel Joel's hips start slowing down, so you take over, bouncing yourself up and down his cock.
“Fuck you feel so good baby, he praise and he lifts your shirt up and takes it off along with your bra, and places his mouth on your nipple licking and sucking on it. Your eyes close as you breathe out a moan at his touch.
“Shit Joel I’m close-oh god!” he flicks his tongue against your nipple for a few seconds before pulling away.
“Can tell, you’re clenching ‘round me come on baby cum on my cock.” he growls, southern accent getting stronger as guides you through your release. You squeeze your arms around him and melt into his neck as you let out cumming around him, you relax against him as your body shutters slightly. He rubs your back as you come down from your high. After you compose yourself, you lift your head up and see Joel’s disheveled hair. You slowly lift up off of him, you place your hand on his thigh spreading his legs before placing yourself between them, eye level with his throbbing cock glistening from your juices. he looks down at you and shakes his head.
“No,no baby you don’t have to I can-“ you lick up his cock, making him moan out mid-sentence and jerk his cock up and down as you interrupt him.
“Shut up and let me suck you off Texas.” he nods and leans his head back, closing his eyes as you take him in your mouth, hallowing out your cheeks and taking him further down your throat. you hear him let out whimpers and moans about of good you feel. you start moving your head up and down slowly at first but slightly increasing your pace. your hand comes up and fondles his balls lightly, making him twitch in your mouth.
“Holy- princess Imma cum if you keep touching my balls like that.” You roll your eyes and take him out of your swollen lip, replacing it with your hand.
“That’s kinda the point babe, want your cum.” you lean down and suck on his balls as you jerk him fast, making him let out a shaky breathes. You take your mouth off of him and look up at Joel through your eyelashes.
“Wanna cum on my face?” you ask, looking at him innocently despite the lewd question you just asked him. He opens his eyes, looking at how pretty you look with spit around your lips and it has him immediately cumming all over your hand and slightly on your face. He curses as his  cock twitches lightly. You smile at him, making him shake his head as his chest raises fast as he tries to catch his breath.
“You’re so dirty darling” he teases as he takes his thumb across your cheeks, wiping his cum off of you and placing it in your mouth, happily sucking on it.
You take it out, and watch him get up and put his boxers on and grab a towel wiping your face before grabbing your underwear and shirt. but you shake your head “No I want your shit” you tell him and he walks over grabbing his button up and hands it to you as you put it on. He lays down and you lay next to him resting your head on his chest as his hand rubs your back.
“Really fucking missed you, I think traveling with you gave me attachment issues” your confession has him laughing, feeling his chest rumble under your ear.
Just add it to the list,” you frown your eyebrows looking up at him to clarify, “attachment issues, abandonment issues, mommy issues, daddy issues-“ you gasp softly, your mouth falling open for a second before lightly slap his chest as he chuckles.
“Missed you too princess, I don’t think I can be away for that long again," he assures as you close your eyes, slowly falling asleep.
“Then dont.” you mumble, and he nods “I wont, not going anywhere, I’m staying right here.” he closes his eyes too and leans his head on top of yours falling asleep.

Midnight Snack
Yay! We reached 200 followers so im just gonna put out a little short story for you guys as a thank you :D
This story has vore in it! It’s all sfw and nonsexual!!!! If you don’t like that, then just ignore this and click away.
Summary; Miguel hasn’t been taking care of himself lately so you decide to make sure he doesn’t keel over and die from exhaustion.
Now, you knew beforehand that Miguel is a man dedicated to his job, but this is unreasonable.
“A week?” He avoids your probing gaze expertly as you frown at him from his desk. “That’s how long you haven’t slept? Do you know how bad that is??”
”I’m busy. I can’t sleep.” He responds with a little shrug, as if it isn’t that big of a deal. As if his skin isn’t worryingly pale and the shadows under his eyes stretch deep. If it weren’t for the fact that you had forced him to eat on a fixed schedule, you assume he would’ve also skipped breakfast, lunch and dinner regularly. While his determination is admirable, it’s seriously worrying to see him in this disheveled state.
His hair is all mussed up and his eyes are blank, staring uncomprehendingly at the bright monitors covering the entirety of his desk. You scowl, crossing your arms as he steadily ignores you.
”Miguel! Come on, big guy, look at me,” You tap one of his hands and he tears his eyes away from the holographic report to stare at you. “This can’t be healthy. You gotta take a break, man.”
His brows furrow.
“I can’t. I have to — I have to make sure everything’s fine. Everyone.” He shakes his head stubbornly and you can’t help but huff. He’s pausing, blinking slowly and dragging his eyes back open laboriously as he struggles to function normally, much less hold up a conversation. He’s probably only staying awake through sheer will and spite.
“You can do that after you’ve gotten a good rest, Miguel. You’re gonna end up collapsing or something.” If you could, you’d grab him by the shoulders and shake him. Maybe that’d get some sense into him. Unfortunately, since you’re about the size of his pinky, you settle for pushing at his hand.
He barely pays you any mind, though he seems pretty out of it in general. He’s not listening. He’ll run himself to the ground, and while it’s not your job to care for him, you’re going to anyway since that’s what a good friend does. Plus it would kinda suck if the leader of the Spider Society died from sleep deprivation.
“Lyla. Turn the computer screens off, but leave the lights dimmed at 20%,” You call and the glowing hologram flickers to life next to you.
“Aye aye, Captain,” She salutes cheerfully and the bright orange interfaces go dark. Lyla promptly glances at Miguel and grimaces. “Oh. Aren’t you a sight for sore eyes, boss?”
Miguel musters up a vague frown, bracing himself heavily against the metal of his desk.
“Hey! I needed those. Turn them back on.” He bristles but the words are lukewarm. He has to be completely exhausted because he barely even fights back. Lyla clicks her tongue disapprovingly.
”Nuh uh, I don’t think so.” She wags a finger at him. He bares fangs, though he looks resigned. That’s a pretty good sign. Means he’s pretty close to giving up.
”I made you.”
”Actually, Xina did.”
“Lyla — “
You clear your throat as loudly as you can and Miguel turns to look at you, irritated.
“This is your fault,” He mutters sullenly, perfectly audible to your ears. Unrepentant, you grab at one of his fingers again and tug until he grudgingly flips his hand, showing his palm. You hop in easily, keeping steady as he carefully brings you up to his face so you can feel the full extent of his watery scowl. ”Are you happy with yourself?”
“I’ll be happy when you decide to go to sleep.” You bite back and he sighs loudly.
“If I sleep for a couple of hours, will you get off my case?” He asks exhaustively and you nod your head grudgingly after a moment of contemplation. A couple of hours isn’t the best but you’ll negotiate with him later.
Lyla claps her hands together happily.
“Yay! This is great,” She turns to you and glitches up to you, holding her hand out. You take it and the two of you shake in mutual respect. Miguel just watches with a defeated sort of air. For a man who’s usually so stiff and stern, it’s only at the dead of night that he lets himself crumble. You find it somewhat touching that he trusts you enough to show his flaws, even though he pushes against your care most of the time.
“You’ll both be the death of me,” He groans and Lyla sticks her tongue out at him.
“I’m actually trying to keep you alive, thanks,” She snarks back before vanishing in a dizzying whirl of golden sparks. Her disembodied voice echoes from the ceiling. “Also, you’re locked out of the computer system for the rest of the night — unless it’s an emergency that needs your assistance. Have a good night, boss!”
Miguel’s head snaps up at her last words before he just sits down heavily in his creaky swivel chair. His head comes down with a loud thunk, the hand with you in it still held aloft. You wince. That couldn’t have felt good.
You hop off easily, absorbing the impact with a roll as you poke at his cheek.
“This is no place to take a nap,” You scold.  “Think of the back pain you’ll feel when you wake up tomorrow.”
He makes a muffled noise of annoyance, but pulls himself up regardless. Miguel sets his hand down in front of you again, which you clamber into quickly. He raises it up to his shoulder, and you take residence there as he begins walking over to the cushy couch shoved in the corner of his rather massive office. The kids had smuggled it in somehow and it just never left. Now, it’s main purpose is for movie nights and the occasional nap or two.
He slowly lugs his body onto the cushions with a quiet grunt, making sure that you don’t get knocked off with the motion. Even when he’s half asleep and tired out of his mind, he’s still unimaginably careful while handling you. While it’s appreciated now, it can be a bit stifling when out on the field. You just happen to come from a universe smaller than his, you’re not made of glass.
”Two hours. Then I’m going back to work.” He says, phasing away his suit to reveal rumpled but soft looking clothes underneath. It’s some sort of futuristic fashion with a high open collar and unimaginably soft fabric.
“A whole night.”
”Three hours.”
”A whole entire night.” You insist stubbornly and he blinks.
”… Five hours.”
“Miguel.”
He huffs, aiming a glare at you with little to no heat.
“I can’t take that long of a break. I have things to fix and repair. And missions to coordinate.”
You raise an unamused eyebrow.
“The other spiders can take care of that, Miguel. You have hundreds of incredibly smart people who are willing and eager to help. And Lyla can do that last one. She’s connected to everything.” Miguel still looks hesitant so you decide to sweeten the deal and play your trump card. “Look. I’m tired too, y’know? If you agree to sleep until morning, I’ll let you eat me.”
He’s silent for the count of five before he shifts slightly.
“Right now?” He raises a brow at you and you nod.
“Yup. I don’t really mind it, y’know. I think it’s comfy.” Miguel looks faintly confused but seems to be considering his choices.
“… Fine. A whole night’s sleep.” He finally settles on, and you slip down from his shoulder to his chest, squinting through the darkness you know he can see clearly through. Miguel hesitates for a moment before gently grabbing you from between his thumb and forefinger, lifting you up to his head.
You dangle from his hold, blinking as he apparently works things out in his head, sharp eyes examining you carefully despite the fact that he has gulped you down before with relative ease.
“Alright. The watch will make sure you’re fine. Just call me or send me an alert through it and I’ll get you out. Got it?” He asks and you nod eagerly.
He opens his maw wide and though you can’t really see in the dim light, you can see the yawning abyss of darkness in front of you, highlighted by sharp white teeth and fangs. His breath whooshes over you, making shivers wrack through your body despite the relative warmth of it. You reach up and tap one of the fingers holding you up, signaling that you’re ready and he makes a quiet hum of acknowledgement.
Miguel inhales slowly and slowly lowers you into his mouth. The first sensation you get is wet. Saliva soaks into your suit and you slip a little, bracing a hand against the slippery soft flesh of his tongue. The second is temperature. Everything is moving around you, so wonderfully alive and warm. His tongue curves underneath you, the powerful muscle shifting so it can wrap around you loosely like an oversized blanket.
His mouth shuts with a quiet click of teeth and all of the faint light from outside is cut off, leaving you within the darkness of Miguel’s body. You go slack and still, letting him absentmindedly taste you, push you from one cheek to the other subconsciously.
You feel him soak you in spit, not protesting or fighting back as he readies you for the journey below. Miguel is still gentle, careful. Nothing is too rough or hurts at all, even when his tongue tentatively presses you up against the hard palate of the roof of his mouth. After a long moment, he tilts his head back, just barely.
You slide toward his throat, squeezing down the tight fleshy tube accompanied by a couple of large gulps to help get you down entirely. The sound of his swallows is loud and for a moment it’s all you hear as you’re moved down. It’s not a bad pressure and you’re mostly used to it as you slip down from his esophagus and into his belly.
And man, it’s so much warmer here and also so much more comfortable. The soft flesh here contracts slightly around your body as you find a comfortable position to lie in, tucking yourself against a wall with a yawn. You press a hand against the mass of warmth and squishiness under your fingers, blinking when it ripples across the entire expanse of his stomach.
It’s quiet for a moment before Miguel clears his throat, his voice oddly loud and muffled at the same time.
”You okay? Need me to get you out?” He asks, and you make a lazy hum in response.
“No, I’m fine, man,” You sink deeper into the comforting warmth and you hear something like a quiet chuckle from above. It’s good to hear him sound relaxed for once. God knows he needs some relaxation anyway.
“Okay,” he sounds tired and everything is still before your surroundings shift and you tumble somewhat quickly into the side wall of his stomach. He must’ve turned over on his side. ”… Thank you. You care too much about me.”
You frown, picking up on his meaning quickly.
”Well yeah, you’re my friend. Besides, if I was working myself to death, you would’ve done the same, right?” You say and he huffs, laying a palm over his stomach. You can feel it in the way the slimy-squishy walls indent around you.
“It’s not the same.”
”How so?”
”It just isn’t.” Miguel says firmly and you roll your eyes.
”Agree to disagree. Also, go to sleep! I have no idea how you’ve stayed awake this long. We’ll talk about that tomorrow.” You promise, pressing your hand against the closest “wall”. He makes a quiet noise, but it’s quickly drowned out by the familiar sound of rumbling vibrating through his entire body. The volume of his contented purrs are quiet enough that a person outside would have to strain their ears to hear it.
From where you are right now, the comforting noise is steady and somewhat loud. It’s not overwhelming though — it just blends into the other sounds of his stomach growling and his other organs working somewhere else in his body. You stretch and settle down with a quiet yawn.
Then everything shifts around you, contracting and moving to cradle you securely in complete warmth and comfort.
“Goodnight.” Miguel’s low voice echoes from above and you close your eyes.
“G’night.”
You fall asleep that way and he quickly follows, a hand settled carefully over his stomach and fully content.

───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
"Y/n, are you listening to me?" Bryan asks over the phone.
You were in the middle of making lunch, so your phone was left on the side on speaker as you got the bits you needed out of the fridge, shutting the door with your hip as you walked back to the counter.
"Oh sorry, what did you say?"
"I asked if you wanted to join me and the boys on tour this summer. It'll be good to get some experience, not a lot of bands hire photographers who haven't had any touring experience, and I could certainly do with the help."
"You've got to be kidding.” You slammed the cucumber you were holding on the kitchen counter, shaking your head. “Bry, this is a joke, right?"
"No? Why would I be joking?"
"You're asking me to come on tour with you- with Bad Omens? Isn’t that in a week? You want me to go on tour, next week?!"
"Yes...?” He chuckled, "what's so unbelievable about it? You're my best friend, y/n, I wouldn't ask anybody else."
"Holy fuck." You threw your head in your hands. "I've only met the guys once before, Bry, and you know how that went down!"
"That's why I'm asking you this now. We can fly you out to stay with us for a week or so in California before we leave so you can get to know everyone properly. At least that way it won't be awkward when we're all forced to sleep on each other in the bus." Bryan laughed, knowing the thought of sleeping with at least probably 6 guys on a bus was the last thing you'd want to be doing this summer.
"Well you guys can sleep on the bus, I'm booking hotels."
"So is that a yes...?"
You paused and thought for a moment. This was an opportunity you would never be offered again in a million years, people would kill for this and you’d never forgive yourself if you turned it down.
"You fucker." You grinned, "I'm in."
Bryan booked you a flight that afternoon to LA, leaving the next night. You rushed around your apartment, throwing bits into your suitcase, most likely over packing because you couldn't help but panic that you would forget something.
You couldn’t sleep that night, half of you feeling like you were going to throw up from nerves, half from excitement. The next day you sent a text to Bryan when you got in the taxi to leave for the airport, and he arranged for Matt to pick you up once you landed.
To save even more costs, Bryan said that Noah had a spare room at his house, Jesse had recently moved out and he was happy to let you stay whilst you were there. The thought of staying with Noah made you feel slightly anxious, to say you had a little crush on him was an understatement. Ever since Bryan started working for them you'd been absolutely smitten by him, he was quite possibly the most gorgeous man you have ever laid eyes on.
Bryan gave Matt your number, so you could text him when you landed. The flight went by pretty quick as you caught up on missed sleep and listened to a couple new albums from your favourite artists that you hadn't had the chance to listen to yet.
Once you'd gotten your bags back and gone through security, you let Matt know you were here and he was already on his way to pick you up.
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
"Y/n!" Matt called out, and all of a sudden you spotted him getting out of his car. "Great to see you again."
He took your suitcase and bags, putting them in the car, opening the passenger door for you too.
"It's been a few years," you smile, "how are you? How are the dogs?"
"I'm doing pretty good. I moved recently, and the dogs love the new place, there's so much more room for them to run about and play. Me and Alyson are actually thinking of getting another one."
"Awh cute! So you guys are still together?"
"Yeah, I can’t believe it's been 5 years now. We have our ups and downs but I can't see myself with anyone else." You notice he can't help but smile as he talks about his girlfriend.
"What about the guys? Are any of the others in relationships?"
"Ruffilo and Jolly have partners. Folio’s still getting over his ex and Noah's just Noah," he chuckles, "what's your love life currently like then?"
"Well... it's non-existent. I've been working so hard for the last couple years I haven't had time to date or anything. I download and delete dating apps every other week, I don't like using them but there's no other way I'd meet anyone."
The rest of the journey back to Noah's house you continued to catch up with Matt. Besides Bryan, who's been your best friend since you were at school, you spoke to Matt the most out of the guys from the band since he was always active on social media. You often interacted with Folio and Nicholas (sometimes Jolly), but it wasn't ever much more than a happy birthday each year, or comments on each other’s instagram posts. Noah was an entirely different story.
Finally, Matt pulled up to Noah's house, parking on the driveway. You felt nervous, you wanted to tell the guys somethings come up at home and quickly book a flight back, but then you heard the wheels of your suitcase rolling over the ground as Matt handed it to you and the door to Noah's house opening.
"Y/n!" It was Folio, you immediately grinned back at him as he stood at the door, holding his arms out to welcome you with a hug, "it's great to see you again! How long has it been? 3 years?"
"I know, it's crazy! Look how tatted you are now!" You felt like a grandma commenting on how tall their grandsons got.
"You're lucky Bryan asked in advance for you to stay in Jesse’s old room," another voice spoke as you walked into the house, and then you spotted him, "Folio's now sleeping on the couch." Noah laughed.
"Shit, sorry Nick," you chuckled, "but thanks for letting me stay, Noah. I was gonna book a hotel but when I told Bryan the price for just one night he didn't let me."
"Hey, no worries," he smiled, getting up from the sofa, "we can't wait to have you with us this tour. It is your first, isn't it?"
"Yep!"
"Cool,” he took your suitcase from you and led you up the stairs, “here’s your room, it’s actually the biggest in the house. I was contemplating switching so it could be mine but I haven’t had the time,” he chuckled, “but I think it works better now as the guest room.”
“It’s lovely, thank you Noah.”
“No problem! I put fresh sheets on this morning and everything… Also we’re getting the bathroom redone up here as there’s something wrong with the plumbing. But feel free to use the one connected to my room, and there’s also one downstairs but I’m sure you don’t wanna be going all the way down there in the middle of the night.”
“That’s okay, I’m just grateful for the room.” You said, looking around. It was a rather big room, almost as big as your entire apartment. The walls were painted grey, with a few framed art pieces on the wall. The bed was against the wall by the window, the white sheets complementing the wooden frame. There was a tv on the wall and a dresser beneath it with a few Naruto funko pops decorating it.
“You don’t have to keep thanking me.” He smiled, and you felt your stomach do backflips. Noah looked a lot different to how you remembered him, his long hair was now short, his nails he had painted black were now plain, the skinny jeans were replaced by black joggers, but the most noticeable difference was his face, which seemed a lot more structured now, it's as if the haircut had changed everything. Sure, you had seen pictures of him on social media, but it was nothing compared to seeing him in person again.
“I do, I’m essentially a stranger to you.” You chuckled, but he shook his head.
“No you’re not, we met before, remember? Bryan’s 25th, in New York?”
You were slightly surprised he remembered the details, but then you remembered what happened at Bryan’s 25th birthday party in New York, and by the look on Noah’s face you could tell he also remembered.
“Don’t bring that up!” You hid your face in your hands in embarrassment.
“I basically had to babysit you!” He laughed, “a 23 year old woman who couldn’t handle her alcohol, spewed all across my jeans-”
“Hey, I got it on my dress too! And that was fucking expensive.”
“I know, it was all you kept saying.” He laughed.
“I’m sorry, I don’t even know if I apologised to you that night.”
“You didn’t, but Bryan did. We had to kick Folio out of his hotel room that night because you were in no state to go anywhere without us, he had to share with Jolly in the end.”
“Poor guy probably hates me at this point.” You laughed, and Noah smiled.
“I’ll leave you to unpack, I’ll be downstairs. There’s some things I need to double check with Matt before Thursday.”
“Okay, thanks.” You smiled as he left, shutting the door behind himself.
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
Later that night, the guys were all downstairs watching some movie they’d been talking about for a while. You came down not long before it ended, as Noah said he was ordering food in for around 7pm.
You sat down on the couch next to Noah, although there was a big gap between the two of you. You checked your phone for a moment, seeing if anything happened in the time it took you to walk down the stairs.
“So is anyone else coming to stay before tour?” You asked as Orie turned the movie off after watching the scene that played after the end credits.
“Uh, I think Nicholas is coming the day before we leave.” Noah answered, reaching for his phone. “Jolly only lives down the street now with his girlfriend so he doesn’t need to travel too far, and Ash lives nearby-”
“Ash?” You question, not having heard that name before.
“My personal trainer, he comes on tour with us as security when he’s available.” Now that he’s mentioned it, you realise he does look pretty buff.
However, you quickly snap out of your thoughts as the doorbell rings and Folio (as he was closest) gets up to answer it.
“Guys, foods here!” Folio shouts from the kitchen as he puts it down on the counter.
You all get up and make your way to the kitchen, you help Folio to work out whose is whose as Noah gets out some plates and Orie gets the forks. You take it through to the living room and Noah passes you the remote to put something on whilst you all eat. You settle on some random show as you know it’ll just be background noise, you have a lot of catching up to do.
“So, Nick, you still go fishing?” You asked, shoving a forkful of food into your mouth.
“Yeah, I actually went at the weekend with some of my friends before leaving to come here.”
“Wait, so where do you live now?”
“Back in Maryland, baby!” He grinned, grabbing his beer from the coffee table, “I’ve been thinking about moving again though, the only reason I stayed was because… well-”
You realised where this was leading.
“Why don’t you think about it whilst we’re touring? About moving, I mean. A fresh start might do you good.” You sent him a smile, which he reciprocated.
“That’s what the guys keep telling me, and now Noah has a couple rooms free I’ve said I’ll think about it.”
“So what about you, y/n?” Noah asked, “would you ever consider moving somewhere like here? I mean when your career starts taking off after this, it’ll be better to be somewhere where you can travel more easily and there’s more connections.”
“I haven't even thought about that…” You admit, “and it’s if my career takes off. I don’t want to get too excited and then not get booked for years, or to go on this tour and find that I hate it.”
“Hey!” Folio looked genuinely offended, “you’re not gonna hate it, I promise you that.”
“It’s just… I don’t know what to expect, and there’s nothing I hate more than the unknown.”
Noah moves his hand to rub your knee as you were sat beside him with your legs crossed, your plate in your lap, as if to comfort you, to reassure you- but it only took your breath away.
“Everything will be okay, y/n. I know where you’re coming from, I’m the same. Every morning and night we go through the plan for the day, where we have to travel, how long it’ll take, how long the breaks will be, if we’ve booked a table to go to eat. I promise we’ll all look out for you... It’s not like I haven't done it before.” He smirks.
“I told you not to bring that up!” You slap him playfully, and the other two guys in the room look over in confusion. All Noah had to mention was ‘Bryan’s 25th’ and they both got it.
“God, how could we forget.” Folio laughed, and Orie just watched in confusion.
“Fuck you guys.” You said, reaching for your pepsi, “maybe on this tour you’ll get so drunk that I’ve got to take care of you!” You raise your eyebrows at Noah.
“Hm, only problem is I don’t drink anymore so I don’t see that happening.”
“You don't? Wow, sorry Noah I didn't know that. That's got to have been tough.”
“It was in the beginning, but now it doesn’t bother me. I like waking up with a clear head in the mornings.”
That smile was going to be the death of you.

Originally, you had died giving away your life for your sickly mother and ended up in heaven.
Only months had passed when you were in Heaven until you were wrongly sent to hell cause someone had framed you.
You didn’t loose your halo nor wings so you had to hide them which was hard but you managed
While looking for a job in hell to actually live, you came across Vox walking down the opposite side of you
You didn’t really know who he was all you knew is that he was famous considering all of the paparazzi following him around (he’s enjoying tf outta it)
Voxs face was stoic so you did your usual smile and wave and walked past him to be on your way
Unlike the paparazzi, Vox noticed your sweet smile and looked shocked, looking down at the paparazzi and shooing them away angrily before looking at your now disappeared figure.
He was bummed of course but brushed it off as a fan girl
Except he thought about you every once in a while
How could anybody IN HELL smile and wave????
He only saw that on earth?
That’s when he started to look for you on the cameras
Everytime he saw you in the cameras he blushed like crazy
Vox wondered why such an angelic person like you ended up in hell
So when you came into his building asking for work he instantly put you as his personal assistant

MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
“Y/n, I know you’re in there!” Rapid thuds against your window can be heard. The loudness that vibrates through the window shook through your body. You pull the duvet over your head to hopefully muffle the sounds of your annoying friend.
“Come on, let me in!”
“Goaway.” You muffle yelled. Though to your annoyance, it simply slipped your mind that Luke has the ability to poof in and out of places. Perks of being a ghost. “No. I wanna be at peace!” You whine as you sense his presence before you.
“Hello to you too, sunshine.”
“Goaway.” Your voice muffled under your blanket.
“Can’t do that. Julie specifically told me to come and help you around the house since she’s at school.”
“Why!” You kick out the duvet off you. Moving around frantically, part tantrum. “I don’t need a ghost. I need a goddamn miracle-“ You stop feeling clogged up air in your chest causing you to cough. “God I hate being sick.”
“Do you need anything?” Luke walked over, pressing the back of his hand against your warm tempered forehead. “No fever.”
“I just wanna sleep honestly.” You sigh heavily. Turning your head to meet his eyes. “I have this massive migraine that I’ve been trying to cure with ibuprofen for the last couple days, but I stopped because I’m scared of growing an addiction.” You muster a grin, finding the bit hilarious. “Then there’s my congested nose, trying to breathe has been a bitch. I keep waking up in the middle of the night in coughing fits because my lungs can’t get any air.”
“You gotta tell your lungs to work man!”
“I’m trying!” You laugh, heaving a slight bit then feeling the urge to cough again. “This sucks. I don’t even know how I got sick. It’s like all my energy just got drained right out of me. It’s ruined my whole week.” You let your arms fall in defeat by your sides. “I’m sorry, Luke. I know I said I’d be there for the band’s rehearsals but— I barely have the energy to get out of bed these days.” A faint smile paints your face.
“Hey, don’t sweat it okay. Rehearsals will still be there for you to watch after you get better alright? Besides, we can always record what you’ve missed.” Luke sat on the edge next to you. His comfort dissolves the aches and pain that run through your entire system. The mere thought of knowing someone wanting to look after you, gave you hope for a full recovery sooner rather than later. “Though you’re not missing much honestly.”
“Only my social life.” You dismissed passively. “Can’t believe I’m stuck here and you guys are making music. Unfair.”
“Well, if it makes you feel better-” He pointed at your side, activating your flight or fight response. You laughed moving away from his hands, never one to enjoy being tickled. “We’re not really having much luck with coming up with new songs.”
“Now that I found it hard to believe.”
“No seriously, it’s like we ran out of inspiration.”
“Oh come on! You guys seriously haven’t written anything while I’ve been at home sick?”
Luke shrugged. “We’re all missing our muse…” He reached forward to boop you on the nose.
“Please, I’m no muse.” You half heartedly laugh.
“Maybe not the guys, but definitely mine.” He nodded surely.
“Well then, I’m honored.” You reach forward and take a hold of his hand. Twiddling with his fingers. Intertwining and untwining your hand with his. “Any chance I can hear something?” You batted your eyes playfully. A pout full on display. “Would you sing for a poor sick girl?” You force a cough out of your mouth. “A sneak peek of what’s to come?”
“You sure know how to persuade a guy.” Luke smirked.
“What can I say–“ You cough again. “I’m pretty convincing.” Your eyes crinkle, a sleepy haze falls over your tired form.
“Alright sleepy head, I’ll give you something.” He brought his hand up to lightly brush away some flyaway hairs from your eyes. His touch softly lingering. Soothing the slight ache that didn’t want to go away.
“What’s it–“ You yawn big. “called?”
“Well, Julie, the guys, and I haven’t really settled on a name yet, but I think we’re inching closer with Those Eyes.”
“It sounds nice…” You adjust yourself into the bed. Bring the covers up to your chest. The thing about having the flu was that you had the tendency to get shivers here and there, other times hot spells causing you to kick off the covers. A continuous back and forth situation. Right now you were just simply feeling cold.
“It does. It’s a little slower than any of our other songs, but I think it’ll be a nice touch to the album.”
“Let’s hear it, rockstar.” You hummed. Placing your hands flat over your covered stomach.
“Give me a second.” Luke scoffed humorously. He began making a rhythmic beat on his jean clad thigh, head slowly bobbing as he tried to find his pitch. He took a deep breath and began singing.
“Cause all of the small…things that you do…are what remind me why I fell for you...” His smile grew seeing you start to slip into a deep slumber. Your breathing evening out and becoming slower. He leaned forward, letting his hands caress the side of your cheek gently. His heart fluttering as you subconsciously leaned into his touch. “and when we're apart, and I'm missing you. I close my eyes and all I see is you...and the small things you do.” He leaned back and watched you sleep. His favorite pastime, knowing you were getting rest, and at peace in the comfort of your bedroom. “Sweet dreams, peaches.” Then he was gone in a poof. Silence filling the space, and your sleep unbothered.

Hey Gorgeous
TimKon, Sports AU, Skater Boi Tim, Hockey Player Kon, Injuries, Humour.
Summary: When an accident lands Tim in the ER the last thing he expects to find is someone who completely captures his attention like nothing else. Despite forgetting their interaction due to his injury, weeks later Tim meets the same guy and has just as strong as reaction as he did the first time. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not.
Enjoy! :D
He doesn’t know what feeling is currently worse, the agonising throbbing going on inside his skull or the churning nausea in his stomach. He tries to take a deep breath to diminish the thoughts of throwing up but it proves to be impossible to ignore. He tilts his head back, clenches his eyes shut to fight off the blinding lights and presses the ice pack to the side of his head even harder, the coolness doing very little to alleviate the throbbing going on.
“Shouldn’t be long now Timbo.”
Tim groans in response, not that there’s much else he can do. Talking hurts. Hell, even thinking hurts.
“How you doing?”
If Tim could he would glare at his brother for asking such a stupid question. How’s he doing? Like he can’t see Tim physically trying to keep himself from throwing up.
“Like I could run a fucking marathon,” he grouses, “how do you think I’m doing asshole.”
“Fuck you too Tim. I was just asking.”
Tim huffs but doesn’t respond. With his eyes still closed he can slowly start to feel the world slipping away, while his head still hurts at least the nausea somewhat has eased. If he could just go to sleep then he’d wake up better sometime later.
A rough nudge to his shoulder breaks him out of his reverie. Without meaning for it to a whine escapes his throat. He’s sore, and tired, why couldn’t Jason just let him sleep.
“You’re not allowed to go to sleep idiot.” Jason tells him factually. “The nurse will be with us soon and until you get properly checked out you can’t sleep. You know the rodeo kid, this isn’t your first time, don’t be baby about it.”
Tim sighs heavily and whines again. “I know! But give me a break, this sucks!”
There's a beat before Jason speaks up, this time he nudges his shoulder gently. “Do you think you can stay awake for a couple minutes while I go and find out how long the nurse will be?”
“No promises.”
“Tim.”
With his free hand Tim waves his brother away. “Yes, I’ll be fine. Now go. The quicker this is sorted the sooner we can go home.”
Jason mutters something underneath his breath and Tim feels as he get up from the chair next to him and disappears somewhere. Still not having opened his eyes, Tim slouches in his seat and focuses on his breathing and the coldness of the icepack pressed against his temple. As long as he doesn't move he should be fine.
It’s only moments later he starts to feel the world slip away again. His breathing evens out and despite the injury and uncomfortable chair he starts to feel himself relax, perhaps a couple minutes he could just…
A gentle shake of his knee startles him. Tim jumps and immediately regrets the move when his head pulses violently. Moving to sit upright he forces his eyes open and blinks several times to try and
adjust his blurry vision, after a minute or two his vision clears up enough that he can see a stranger crouched down next to his chair.
A very hot stranger at that.
Tim wonders if he’s hallucinating or if he did in fact fall asleep and is now dreaming.
The stranger laughs and his smile is suddenly all Tim could see. Straight white teeth, full lips that complement with his tanned skinned, clean shaven. He forces his eyes to move upwards and he tunnel visions onto the strangers eyes, bright blue eyes that seem to sparkle.
The stranger is talking but Tim is too caught up staring at the guy to take any note in what is being said. The man clearly recognises he's not going to get any coherent response from him and puts a hand on his knee and shakes him again, just lightly not enough to jostle him.
“Hey, you with me?” Somehow the guy looks concerned and amused at the same time.
“You’re absolutely gorgeous.”
Apparently a busted head means he’s got a busted filter too.
Laughing, the guy removes his hand off his knee. “Thank you. I appreciate that despite the obvious delirium you’re experiencing.”
Tim continues to stare at him, once more being memorized by this guy’s hotness. He has short black hair, amazing jaw line, gorgeous blue eyes and perfect mouth.
Gorgeous is talking and yet again Tim’s completely zoned out on him. It takes a moment to register what he’s saying and Tim blinks, trying and failing, to pay attention.
“I’m Conner. I heard your friend tell you not to fall asleep, and it looked like you were just about to do exactly that, so I hope you don’t mind me interrupting you. Concussions are tricky things to deal with.”
If Tim were in his right mind he would question what this gorgeous man means because it sounds like he’s speaking from experience, however he’s not and he continues to stare at him transfixed instead.
“I would ask what happened, but I have a strong feeling I’m not going to get a coherent answer out of you am I?”
Gorgeous sounds amused and looks at him fondly and Tim can’t cope. This guy is not real. He can’t be. Tim’s brain is busted more than expected and now he's hallucinating the most perfect guy on earth in the ER of the local hospital.
“You’re not real.”
“I assure you I very much am.” Gorgeous looks away momentarily before facing him again. “Your friend is coming back, hopefully with the news you can now go see a doctor.”
The guy stands up as Jason comes into the picture. His brother looks between him and Gorgeous, however before he could say anything Gorgeous is speaking up.
“Sorry, I saw him drifting off to sleep and wanted to keep him awake while you were gone.”
Jason blinks for a moment before nodding once in thanks. “Thanks man, I was gone longer than expected.” Jason turns his attention onto Tim who hasn’t moved his attention away from the other man. “C’mon, Timbo, the nurse is waiting for us.”
His brother bends down and carefully grabs Tim and hauls him up this feet. Tim groans and stumbles as his vision blurs and the world tilts but thanks to Jason’s strong hold on him he doesn’t fall down. Together he and Jason work their way across the waiting room in the ER and towards the corridor and as they go Tim couldn’t help but voice his experience while waiting for his brother.
“I just hallucinated the most gorgeous guy on the planet Jay.” Jason hums in acknowledgement but it isn’t enough of a response for Tim’s liking. He sloppily hits Jason’s arm where he’s holding onto him. “No. No! You don’t understand, this guy was ethereal… literal hotness and he was in there, in the ER!”
“Sure Timbo.”
Before Tim could gush anymore about Gorgeous, a nurse dressed in blue is meeting them and guiding them into a room. After that Tim loses track of time and anything that happens. No longer being fixated on Gorgeous, his focus returns back to the throbbing going on inside his skull and the return of the damn nausea. He groans and wishes it would end.
------
Focusing on his phone in his hands Tim wonders through the hallway heading towards his bedroom. Knowing the route he needs to take off by heart means he doesn’t need to look up however when he passes Dick’s room and hears his friends name being called Tim pauses and finally looks up from his device.
He observes as Dick and Wally settle onto the bed surrounded by snacks and drinks, they’re chatting eagerly to one another with the TV blearing in front of them. Stepping into the room, Dick had his door open so it was an open invitation really, he glances between the men and the TV.
“Was you talking about Bart?”
The men startle and turn towards him, they both blink before smiling.
“Timmy I didn’t hear you come in!”
Tim raises an eyebrow and motions towards the TV. “I’m not surprised considering you have that on. Why is it so loud?”
“For atmosphere!” Wally exclaims. “Sports need to be watched on a high volume.”
Pulling a face, Tim shakes his head disbelievingly. “No. It really doesn’t.”
“Yes it does,” the man argues back. Tim is about to retort when Dick speaks up, stopping the inevitable petty argument from happening.
“Wally was saying Bart’s at the game tonight. Apparently he’s skipped training to be at the match.”
Tim turns his attention to the TV to find a hockey match being aired. “Bart’s at this game?” He didn’t realise Bart had been going to the game, he didn’t mention it when they caught up just a couple days ago.
“Yeah, a mate of his is playing so he got tickets and went with Jamie.”
Tim hums. He wonders if this is Bart finally making a move on Jamie or not. Bart insists there’s nothing between them but Tim’s convinced they’ve at least slept together once already and are just too scared about making it official.
As he watches Tim briefly wonders if he’ll get to see his friend on the screen but after seeing how many people are in attendance at the game he knows it’s not likely, there are thousands of people there. Just as he’s about to turn away and wish the men a good night the camera on screen changes and suddenly there’s a hockey player on the ice having an interview during the warm ups. The sight of the player makes Tim freeze. There’s something familiar about him but Tim couldn’t place what it was. He’s not a fan of hockey so there’s no chance of recognition of any of the players.
This player on the ice is well built, he’s without a helmet so it’s easy to see his short black hair, high cheekbones and bright blue eyes (after the camera zooms in).
“Who’s that?” The question slips out before Tim could stop himself.
“Uh, Conner Kent…” Dick pauses and looks at him for a moment before a sly smile appears on his face. “See something you like Timmy?”
Tim scoffs. “No. Just curious.” He knows he answered too quickly and defensively for it to be a justifiable lie but he can’t shake off the feeling about the guy on the screen. The camera soon changes to the other players on the ice and Tim shakes his head clear his thoughts. Waving to Dick and Wally he promptly exits the room before Dick could start an interrogation.
On the way to his room Tim’s thoughts are consumed by the man on the screen. Aren’t hockey players supposed to be somewhat ugly and a little disfigured due to the obnoxious amount of injures they receive? This Conner Kent is gorgeous and Tim is instantly besotted with him.
Gorgeous.
Tim freezes as it clicks into place. The man on the screen is the same man he met when he was in the ER three weeks ago. The gorgeous man is called Conner Kent, who happens to be a hockey player who also happens to be a blurry mirage in Tim’s mind.
He doesn’t remember a lot about his time spent in the ER while he waited with Jason to be seen by a nurse after giving himself a concussion. It’s all a blur and a lot of blank spaces but in the midst of it all he does recall being transfixed by a stranger who he thought was stunning, Jason certainly made a point about telling him once he recovered a little about how obsessed Tim seemed to be with the man. It’s embarrassing but since Tim couldn’t really remember the moment he tried to not think about it too hard.
Now he remembers a lot more thanks to seeing his face on the TV screen. Once in his room and lying on his bed Tim does what any normal person would do and that’s stalk Conner Kent’s social media.
There's plenty of photos of him on his own accounts as well as other people’s. The most surprising however was how Bart is on the guy’s Instagram. Tim didn’t even know they knew each other. It would explain why Bart’s gone to the game tonight if he’s friend’s with him. As Tim thinks about it Bart often talks about a ‘Kon’ so really Tim can only blame himself for the obliviousness there.
As he stalks Kent’s account he’s debates on whether or not to message him. Would it be weird? A guy he met in the ER weeks ago sending him a message? Would Conner even remember him?
In the end Tim chickens out and doesn’t send a message. Even if he did there’s a chance Kent wouldn’t see it because of the sheer volume of messages he probably receives on a daily basis. Tim knows what it’s like to constantly get messages from people all around the world due to his popularity in the skating community, so he could take a guess to what Kon has to deal with on a bigger scale being a hockey player.
Realising he’s been on his phone and on Kent’s profiles for nearly an hour Tim tells himself to get a grip and turns off his phone. He forces himself to get off the bed and decides to be active by getting changed and heads for a late session in the gym. He has some new found energy to burn off.
-----
The thoughts of Conner Kent stays rent free inside his mind for weeks after he finally worked out who Gorgeous from the ER is.
It’s driving Tim insane. What doesn’t help matters is how Jason laughs any time he sees Tim, even if it’s in passing because one evening he and Tim were out for drinks and Tim let it slip he worked out who Gorgeous was and Jason found it hysterical. Jason isn’t letting him live it down. Dick sends him knowing looks anytime they see each other. Thankfully no one else in his family has picked up on his new infatuation because he doesn’t think he could handle anyone else knowing.
A few weeks after that night - and if Tim’s watched several hockey games since then for one particular reason no one needs to know – he gets invited by Bart to go and watch him race in a competition happening at his college.
Bart is a sprinter for his college athletics team and is even on the list of making it onto the national team. He’s got his final year at college to complete then he can go into the sport full time once he graduates if he wishes too.
Tim’s gone to Bart’s college with their mutual friend Cassie to watch him race. There are hundreds of other people around, all watching the different athletic sports going on. It’s a good atmosphere and Tim is looking forward to seeing Bart not only to race but to win. Tim has all the faith he’ll dominate the sprint.
As he and Cassie hover by the stands looking for a space to go and sit, a presence comes up behind Tim and invades his personal space. Preparing to tell this person to fuck off, the words die in his mouth once Tim turns around and sees who’s standing behind him. He stares bewildered and wonders if he’s hallucinating.
“You certainly look much better than the last time I saw you.”
Unable to form an answer Tim gapes as Conner Kent grins at him. The man looks good, he’s wearing a snapback backwards on his head, a flannel shirt on top of a plain black t-shirt and jeans and boots. He’s smiling and showing off his perfect white teeth as his blue eyes sparkle.
And damn, if Tim thought it had been bad before his infatuation increases tenfold with the man standing right in front of him.
“It’s Tim right?”
When Kent holds out his hand the movement finally spurs Tim into action. He smiles tightly, feeling embarrassed, and shakes his hand. “I’m Tim. I – I mean yes, yeah I’m – I’m Drake, Tim Drake.”
Tim wants to go die in a ditch. Cassie snorts loudly, barely covering up the sound with her hand and opposite him Conner looks amused. An awkward silence entails after Tim’s stuttered confirmation, he stands there staring at Conner who simply stares back just as intensely. His mind is blank and he struggles to come up with a conversation topic to break the silence between them.
In the end Cassie saves the day, she nudges Tim with her elbow and points off to somewhere in the crowded stands. “I see a space, I’ll grab us some seats.” She pauses and turns to Conner. “Are you joining us?”
Conners gaze flickers between Tim and Cassie as he answers, like he can’t make himself pull away from looking at Tim. Tim is both flustered and flattered by the idea.
“Sure if you don’t mind me joining you? I know one of the racers but I didn’t bring anyone with me to watch.”
Cassie nods eagerly and nudges Tim again with her elbow this time more pointedly and then leads the way to the free seats she’s seen. The three of them sit down with Cassie deliberately putting Tim in the middle. He shoots her a glare and she smiles back unapologetically.
He turns to Conner and ignores the butterflies going on inside his stomach as he speaks to the gorgeous man. “Who do you know that’s racing?”
Tim figures it would be Bart but as a hot shot hockey player Conner probably knows a lot of people and upcoming athletes.
“Well,” he starts sounding amused, he grins lightly at Tim, “he’s a mutual friend of ours believe it or not. Bart Allen? Short, wild hair, super-fast and never knows when to shut up, sound familiar?”
Tim laughs and nods his head. “Yes. He does sound familiar. That’s why Cassie and I are here too. Bart also invited us.” There’s suddenly a loud cheer from the crowd and as he looks forward Tim realises they’ve started up the competition finally. He looks and finds that Bart isn’t racing yet, he’s in the third or fourth heat.
A tap on his arm gets his attention and he turns back to Conner who is now looking at him almost critically. His eyes drift up to his temple before locking gazes with him again. “Hey so I was serious earlier, you look much better than last time. Has the injury all cleared up? Can I be nosey and ask what happened? Wait – do you even remember what happened, do you even remember me in the ER. Wait! If you don’t remember I haven’t even introduced myself!”
Tim feels his heart swelling up. Not only is the man gorgeous but he’s also adorable! He can’t cope. To stop Conner’s panicked rambling Tim places his hand on his forearm and squeezes lightly. “Hey, it’s fine! I do remember you, believe it or not. And yes, the concussion has long since healed.”
Conner breathes out and his shoulders relax and he chuckles. “Okay, okay. Good. So can I ask what happened? You were pretty out of it.”
Tim huffs and the desire to go die in a ditch returns. It’s embarrassing and he doesn't want to talk about it, however Conner’s curious gaze has him opening his mouth before he could protest.
“I was trying a new trick on my board, I misjudged the height and ended up face planting the floor. Thank god for my helmet, I was lucky to only be dealing with a concussion and a few bruised bones. My brother took me to the ER, I got briefly checked out before being admitted and forced to wait in the waiting room until they could properly see me.”
Tim pauses as the next heat of races start up. They look onwards silently before turning to one another again when they find Bart isn’t racing yet.
After a thought pops into his head Tim frowns and turns to Conner, and that’s when he realises he never let go of Conner’s arm and forces himself to do so. His hand suddenly feels so empty and cold as he no longer holds onto Conner.
“What were you doing in the ER?” He raises an eyebrow in mock accusation. “Also you never said about being a hockey player, you weren’t injured that night right?”
Conner lets out a nervous laugh, he takes his hat off and runs a hand through his hair before putting it back on again. “You didn’t really need to know that I guess? I mean you were really out of it, I’m pretty sure if I tried to give you any information you would have forgotten it.”
Tim huffs and refuses to comment. Yes he had been out of it and Conner is right on that front, but still.
“My brother was actually the one in the ER. My dad was him and I was waiting in the waiting room for them to be done. He fell over and broke his wrist.”
“Aw,” Tim coos, “that sucks for your brother. Is he alright?”
Conner waves it aside, “yeah he’s fine. He’s twelve, he’ll bounce back in no time at all. He’s excited to have a bright yellow cast on his arm.”
Tim snorts. “Kids have it so easy don’t they.”
“They sure do.”
A lull in the conversation soon develops but it was good timing as Bart was finally up to race. The three of them shout encouragements and cheer the loudest as Bart wins his race, beating his competition by storm as they knew he would. Since he won he’ll be through to the semi-finals which is happening after many more track events.
Cassie wonders off after the race, claiming she’s going to find some food and drink and grabs their own orders. After she’s disappeared Tim turns back to Conner to find him already looking at him.
Tim smiles feeling unsure with the attention. “What?”
Not saying anything Conner brings up his phone and brings up Tim’s Instagram profile and shows it to him. “I’m not the only one whose keeping secrets, I didn’t know you were an Olympic Skater.”
Tim rolls his eyes and looks away, feeling his face flush. “Yeah a skater who managed to give himself a concussion. We’ve made it clear I wasn't exactly with it when we were in the ER.”
Conner shrugs and Tim looks back in time to see Kon press follow on the screen, at the same time he feels his phone vibrate in his pocket, no doubt being that exact notification. A smile makes its way onto his face and soon enough he finds himself grinning goofily. This man, he has no idea what this guy is doing to him.
“How did you know I was a hockey player?” Kon questions after a few moments of silence. Cassie hasn’t returned yet and Tim’s pretty sure she’s delaying it on purpose. He shrugs in response to Conner’s question, trying to be nonchalant about his answer.
“I honestly don’t remember much from that night, but a few weeks afterwards I saw you on TV playing a game. It clicked in my mind then.”
“Huh. Fair enough.”
“I don’t really follow hockey, I wouldn’t have known if I didn’t see you on the screen.”
“It’s not for everyone admittedly, I love it though.”
“You love getting slammed into boards and getting into fist fights on sharp ass steel blades?” Tim couldn’t help but dig at the sport. Also it’s a call back to Kon’s recent game where he both got slammed and did the slamming into the boards, also where he threw his gloves off and got into a fight.
Conner stares at him, clearly making the connection between his dig and the game in mind. A beaming grin appears on his face. “You say you don’t like hockey and yet you watched my game?” His facial expression then changes as his mind catches up with Tim’s other comments, Conner rolls his eyes. “And there’s more to the sport than that, just fyi.”
“Sure.” Tim retorts.
“There is! I don’t have the time right now to tell you everything about how it’s much more than that, we’ll need an entire evening for me to achieve that. That’s not even getting started about your sport!”
“Oh, don’t you go there!” Tim warns him mockingly. “I could easily beat your arguments on hockey over skateboarding any day.”
“Oh yeah?” Kon says suggestively, he raises an eyebrow and sticks his chin out. “How about we arrange a time to do just that.”
At his words Tim’s heart skips a beat. This seriously couldn’t be happening.
“Argue about who’s sport is better? Sure. As long as there’s food I’m down.”
“Alright, give me your number and we’ll arrange a date.”
A date. A date. They’re going to organise a date to talk about their respective sports. It’s not the sort of date Tim had been imagining with Gorgeous but he’ll take it.
“Fine. Give me your phone.”
They exchange their numbers and save the new contacts. It goes silent between them for a beat before Conner leans in and speaks in a lower tone, gone the competitiveness and confidence, now there’s shyness and apprehension.
“In all seriousness, I genuinely would like to go on a date with you. Not to, y’know, talk about just sport…”
Tim’s lips quirk up, and he couldn’t help but feel relieved and yet excited. He also leans into Conner, letting their shoulders press together and says, “I would like that too. I’m free the weekend if you are?”
“I have a game Saturday but I’m free Sunday,” he pauses, clearly thinking about something before adding on, “I can get you a couple of tickets to the match if you want.”
Tim’s nodding without any hesitation. “I think that would be great, thanks.”
Conner grins at him and bumps their shoulders lightly. Tim returns the gesture and they settle down to watch the rest of the competition in companionable silence. When Cassie returns with their food she gives them knowing looks and nods at Tim approvingly. Tim rolls his eyes but is unable to tamper down the goofy grin on his face.
He may have to thank Bart after this is all over for inadvertently bringing he and Conner together because Tim sure as hell wouldn’t have approached Conner by his own doing.

A Train Wreck (part 2)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lee Minho x fem!reader warnings: lots of angst and tw for verbal abuse/toxic relationship wc: 10k6> AO3 link :) | Part 1 synopsis: Your life has changed a lot throughout the past 6 months, since you started dating Jun. Events lead you to slowly distance yourself from some of the people you loved the most - Stray kids. Even your friendship with Bang Chan, your closest friend, was damaged after that day. Now, you find your life to be like an unstoppable train wreck hurtling toward disaster. You're gradually losing the bonds that had always kept you sane, for a serie of events that turned your world upside down. It feels inevitable: you will crash. Could someone help you avoid the collision? Could someone take the wheel with you, and help you get control over your life again? You don't know anymore. There's only one thing you do know: you are not welcomed and Lee Know, in particular, might hate you. And his opinion about you hurts more than you wanted it to.
Or: Y/N is in an abusive relationship and ends up distancing herself from her friends (Stray Kids). She thinks everybody hates her, especially Lee Know. She doesn't understand the effect he has on her (and vice-versa).
Minho’s chuckle still echoes in your mind as you’re slowly pulled back to the present. The faint buzz of your phone on the table catches your attention. You don’t recognize the number showing on the screen.
Still not feeling entirely as yourself, you pick it up. “Hello?” The sound of your voice rings weird in your ears.
You reach for your cup and sigh melancholically when you find it empty. Should I get another one? At the counter, the barista laughs a little too loud of something the cashier just said.
“Hi.” The male voice greets you from your phone, though you barely register it.
Maybe I should go home.
A nausea knot twist in your stomach at the thought.
But where else can I go?
A sudden shattering sound makes you jump and you whip your head. The cashier quickly makes his way going through the tables until you spot the source of the crash. The couple begins a succession of anxious apologies, met by constant reassurance from the cashier.
You could’ve sworn the noise had come from your phone, though.
You shake your head. I definitely need to go home and get some sleep.
“Who is it?” You hold the phone between your shoulder and ear and start collecting your stuff.
“Ouch. So you actually don’t have my number saved.” You hear a soft laugh, followed by a frustrated click of a tongue. “That is fair, I guess. Why am I hurt, though?” He murmurs what you can assume that is mostly to himself. You grab your bag to leave and force yourself to snap out of the heavy haze clouding your mind.
There is something familiar about the man, but you can’t really put your finger on it. It bothers you. The feeling of missing something important is there, but it’s overshadow by exhaustion and you decide that thinking takes too much energy – which you have none to spare.
You rub your temples. “I’m sorry, I’m sure it’s a misunderstanding. Who do you wish to speak to?” You take a quick look at your phone screen on your way out, realizing it’s way later than you thought. “Are you sure you called the right number?”
“Very sure, Y/N.” His voice is soft and reassuring.
You sigh again. “So, how can I…” You start, but something makes you stop.
The way he says your name itches a particular spot of your brain. It’s not simply familiar – it’s somehow intimate, and you picture the warmth that wraps you when you go inside a house after walking through the cold in the middle of the winter.
A face also comes in your mind, but you almost laugh. It comes out as a weak breath instead.
It’s unlikely. Flashes of angry howls through closed doors bring back the pain and shame from that specific day, that hasn’t stopped haunting you even weeks later.
It is unlikely, you tell yourself. Very unlikely.
Still, his name falls from your lips before you can stop it. “Minho.”
“Hello, Y/N.” He replies and you know that it is, unmistakably, Minho.
In a heartbeat, the clouds in your mind vanish and you feel particularly awake. You resist to acknowledge the feelings – of relief and… yearning? Longing? – that filled your heart after the realization that Minho was calling you.
Minho, of all people.
You step outside and the cold spring air fill your lungs. Your gaze shifts to the darkening sky, extending beyond the towering buildings that rise above the ground. You wish you could see stars.
It was impossible to ignore the strangeness of it. Minho never calls you. Literally. In fact, you couldn’t remember a single instance where it had happened. Not in the beginning, when you first started showing up at the studio as Chan’s friend, and especially not after Jun, when his despise became obvious and spread like dark tentacles that you tried so hard to overlook.
“Hey. How can I help you?” You ask coolly. Then, a thought surfaces in your mind making your panic spike. “Is everything okay?” The words come out rushed. “What happened?”
“Everything is fine, Y/N.” He reassures you and, for some reason you don’t understand, you believe him. “Nothing happened.”
Thank God. You exhale audibly.
The relief is short-lived. “Then why are you calling?”
Minho chuckles, but you don’t allow yourself to feel bad for being straightforward.
“Are you free on Saturday?” The casualty in Minho’s voice is still off-putting.
“It depends.” You reply, warily.
His laughs reverberates in your chest. “Of what?”
“You’re acting weird. What’s going on?” You blurt out.
“Weird how?” There is amusement in his voice, the realization leaving you almost disturbed. He’s enjoying it.
“Come on, Minho. Get to the point.”
“You’re no fun.” He sighs, though clearly still enjoying himself. “The comeback is around the corner and Chan has been working relentlessly. Even though it’s nothing new, it still doesn’t mean it’s suddenly good for his health.” You bite your lip as he continues. “We managed to bargain with him, so he is taking a day off and we thought it would be a good idea to celebrate the comeback. Or whatever the excuse was. I guess you can call it a group effort to give that guy a break, even if it’s just for a night.”
All your defenses are dismantled, you know it. The familiarity of the situation threatens to suffocate you as your throat tightens, unable to stop the gratitude of squeezing your heart at the picture of those guys taking care of each other.
And somehow including you.
The tears burn the back of your eyes. God knows how Chan has been and still he had called you on that very same day. You don’t remember what you said – if you even said anything – and you can’t help but wonder if, maybe, he had called you in search of a friendly ear.
If that were the case, you had failed him terribly.
While you desperately tried to fix everything, you ended up making things worse. You knew now how mistaken you were when you thought that distancing yourself would make things better. Yes, you knew why you were acting so wary and evasive, but how could Chan have any clue? None of them did. How could they? By being scared of bothering your friends, by trying not to burden them, you singlehandedly decided to withdraw yourself. Simple as that, you pushed all of them away and then you went further. You had convinced yourself that you were doing this for them.
How could this be considered a selfless choice in any shape of form? How much of your actions were guided by altruism and love for your friends, and how much of it was led by selfishness and, especially, fear of being hurt again?
You shake your head, chasing off the thoughts in your mind and wiping away a single stubborn tear that escaped rolled down your cheek.
Perhaps you had been annoying the boys to no end. Perhaps they all had grown seriously tired of you and simply didn’t know how to bring it up. Perhaps you had crossed their boundaries and became a source utter of discomfort and displeasure. Perhaps they even hated you, while you remained oblivious to it.
Perhaps.
But then what?
“Just so you know,” Lee Know interrupts your thoughts and you wipe another tear from your face. “You are coming. I’m calling just to make sure you cancel whatever you may have planned in advance.”
You raise your eyebrows in confusion, stunned. “Excuse me?”
“I mean it. It’s not up to discussion.” You open your mouth but nothing comes out, and when he continues, his voice is quiet and soft, “Chan misses you, you know.” Your heartbeat falters in your chest. “And it’s not just him.”
The thoughts fly chaotically inside your head and you stop yourself from stating out loud once more how odd the situation is. The fondness in his voice isn’t new, you’ve heard it before. You’ve heard it when he spoke to Han, discreetly checking how he was feeling in the after stage. You’ve heard it when he bickered with Chan and the way he called hyung afterwards. You’ve heard it when he teased Hyunjin, when he complimented Jeongin and when he spoke of Seungmin to other people.
You witnessed different and subtle ways of caring Minho had toward every member. Outside the group Minho was extremely reserved, many times seen as cold-hearted – a huge mistake. It was hard to know how much it affected him really, though. You’ve always admired him secretly and from afar for his strength and resolution.
From afar, you say, because you were part of the “outside the group” team, obviously. Minho was a mystery to you, a distant figure that you respected and stopped trying to understand a long, long time ago.
In the beginning, you had wondered if you were the problem.
Because you had seen his affection when it came to the members, the indifference towards you was awkward to say the least. He was never directly rude, though his detached attitude could be – and indeed was – seen as such sometimes. One day, you were chilling on the couch at the studio as 3RACHA worked on a track, Minho suddenly stormed into the room. You immediately sat straight, surprised by the sudden and unusual burst of excitement coming from him, breaking the quite monotonous atmosphere the room had acquired. Minho walked past you and went straight to Chan and Changbin, giggling as he showed them something on his phone. Han left the live room, confused about the fuss.
Minho turned the screen to Han and they both spoke energetically, with Chan laughing along. Even Binnie, though shaking his head, clearly bit back a smile. The latter caught you staring in confusion, and waved off the commotion. “Silly boys, Y/N. They’re like children.”
“Excuse you!” Han exclaimed dramatically, “The new chapter of Demon Slayer is anything but silly!”
Chan laughed louder and Minho’s head jerked in your direction. He blinked a few times, assimilating the unexpected presence of a fourth person he had not realized before. Suddenly, he stiffend his posture and gave you a short bow, murmuring something to the boys and then turning to leave the room right after.
Not before you caught the bright pink shade in his ears.
“Is it me?” You asked a little later on that very same day. “Have I done anything to upset him?”
“What are you talking about?” Asked Changbin, swinging in one of the leathered chairs.
“Minho.” You explained, waving off the surprised expressions on their faces. “I’m just wondering if I did something and if I should apologize to him.”
“Are you serious?” Han’s shocked face seemed a bit of an exaggeration, you thought. “Do you think he doesn’t like you?”
“Come on, Hannie. I’m not blind.” You shrugged, though it came off a little forced. “I just don’t want to be in bad terms with any of the members.”
You were grateful for your friendship with Chan. He was an amazing person and you were so lucky to have him in your life. His life wasn’t easy, obviously. When he wasn’t busy with schedules of an idol life, he was busy working and doing music, so it was heartwarming when he went out of his way to introduce you to the others, especially to 3RACHA. Changbin and Han had welcomed you from day one, and you rarely felt so immediately comfortable around people you had just met, like it happened with them. You met the other boys a couple times, and even ended up hanging out with Hyunjin and Felix once or twice. They were wonderful, you knew, and you also were highly aware of the importance the group had to them.
Your heart ached watching what true love and acceptance looked like.
And because you knew how much each of them meant to each other, you started worrying about Minho. What if Minho didn’t like you? What would it mean to Chan, and the others? You didn’t expect everyone to love you, obviously, but you hoped to hold a neutral image at least. What if you couldn’t? Then what?
“You haven’t done anything wrong, Y/N.” Chan said, and he pondered his words. “I can’t speak for him, but I’m sure that, with time, you’ll both get to know each other better.”
“So… does he not hate me?” You tried one last time.
Binnie’s eyes widened and Han chocked what you thought to be a laugh. “Absolutely not.” Han said, cleaning his throat. “I can assure you that.”
You rub your eyes, trying to stop a headache from forming.
In the end, it all comes back to Chris. It’s obvious that Minho cares about him, and so do you. It makes sense to unite forces for a greater cause. Kind of. It almost makes sense when you think of this as some common ground.
“Okay. Sure.” You say finally, feeling like your brain was replaced with jelly. “I’ll go.”
“Great!” Minho sounds pleased with himself, oblivious to the conflict happening inside your head. Good for him, you think bitterly. “Oh, there’s one more thing.” You grunt, but he continues. “No boyfriends allowed.”
Your body tenses and you feel your stomach drop.
This is not gonna end well.
“Minho…”
“That’s not up for discussion either. Sorry, Y/N,” He says, not sounding sorry in the least. “I don’t make the rules. Text me if you need a ride.”
“Minho, I don’t think this is a good idea.” You urge, scared he might hang up on you.
He does not. Instead, his voice becomes lower but steadier and assertive. “What is a not a good idea, Y/N?”
You take a shaky breath. “I know you don’t like Jun…”  You start, but your thoughts are a mess. They stumble upon one another and the necessity of having Minho understanding inflates more and more inside your chest. He waits in silence, patiently, as you struggle to put your thoughts into coherent words. “And maybe that’s all you see, someone who you don’t like and you want to avoid. And I get that, I really do. I don’t blame you, but… But it’s not that simple, Minho.” You try to swallow the lump growing in your throat, in vain. “And you know it is not. It’s easy when you are not the one dealing with him afterwards. I know you don’t like him, but this is not the way out.”
Minho doesn’t speak for another moment and your words linger heavy in the air.
“Is that what you think?” His voice is restrained and devoid of any strong emotions. It’s difficult to know what he is feeling and you can’t help but resent him a little for it. He’s able to keep himself collected while you’re a goddamn mess. “Do you think it’s because I don’t like him?”
“I mean… Yes?” You laugh but it comes out lifeless and dry. “Come on, Minho. Are you gonna tell me you actually enjoy Jun’s company?”
“Of course not, Y/N.” He breathes out, exasperated. All the teasing and amusement from earlier are gone without a trace you could actually think you’ve imagined it all. “It’s evident I don’t like the guy. That’s not the point.”
The blunt admission doesn’t trouble you near as much as you thought it would. Rather, it’s the determination weighing in on his last sentence that makes you stagger. “I’m sorry. I don’t know what I’m missing, Minho.”
“Don’t be sorry.” The determination is still there, along with what you think is anger. You don’t feel like you’re the target of it, though. He takes a deep breath and, when he speaks again, he chooses his words carefully. “What would happen if you came without him?”
The answer is awfully easy. The fight unfolds vividly in your mind and you look past it. You know Jun will be mad when he finds out, that he will ignore your calls and texts for weeks – maybe days, if you’re lucky. It’s not up to you anyway, since Jun appear to have his own time that changes depending on his mood. You know he will come back as if nothing happened despite that, eventually. You know that none of you will speak of it until another fight breaks out, only then might it be brought up again. Which is fine! It gives you plenty of time to worry about it in the future instead. The first few days are always the hardest, though, and the guilt is suffocating – you can feel it, even now. A chocked wry laugh comes out of your throat. How is it possible to feel guilty for something that has not even happened yet?
It’s because, you realize, the remorse doesn’t come from this specific and hypothetical scenario. The lingering heavy pressure that fills up your chest comes, alternatively, from all the other countless arguments you had throughout the past few months.  These fights planted seeds of shame and guilt in your heart and watered them. The seeds bloomed into thorny vines and craved marks in your heart like carving stone.
These apprehensions run through your veins blended with your own blood. The constant fear and dread of taking too much space, of being too loud, of being selfish and a burden, they are part of you like stretch marks.
You’re aware that fights will happen regardless of what you do, but still, deliberately giving them motives feels even worse.
“I don’t want him to be mad, Minho.” You say instead, and silently wonder why you feel comfortable talking about this with Minho, when it’s something you hardly feel with yourself. “You know the picture it paints. If I went to a party where he was specifically asked not to come, that’s like cheating.” You cringe at your own words. “Kind of. I don’t know, Minho. You know what I mean, you’re not dumb. You would get mad too.”
“Of course I wouldn’t.” He states nonchalantly and it surprises you. You scoff, annoyed, but he continues. “I’m serious. You’re asking whether I’d be mad if my girlfriend went to a party with her friends without me, right?” You feel a frenetic energy growing inside you, your entire body buzz with tension. It feels wrong, forbidden. Minho, on the other hand, is still as tranquil as he has ever been, unaware of the vileness of the conversation. “If so, then the answer is no. Of course not. Thinking my partner will cheat on me only because I’m not around is kinda dumb, isn’t it? If my presence is the only thing stopping them from doing it, then why am I with them? I obviously don’t trust that person at all.”
Your heart pounds against your ribs and your breath is caught in your throat. You know Minho is not teasing you, his tone is devoid of malice, and he comes off as anything but judgmental – which makes it somehow worse. Deep inside, you wish he were disapproving, critical of you. You wish he showed disappointment and disdain for your choices and actions, anything that would sustain the twisted image you had of yourself. You wanted him to put the blame on you, right in your face, with the same fierceness he had displayed that day at the company building. You needed him to, so you could maybe start making some sense of things.
Instead, he was collecting the few convictions you had and putting them under a different light, showing you how they change and distort when viewed from other angles.
He is wrong, you feel it in your bones. He does not understand. Minho is not getting the full picture. You open your mouth to tell him, to explain what he’s so badly missing.
Nothing comes out.
If my presence is the only thing stopping them from doing it, then why am I with them? I obviously don’t trust that person at all.
You squeeze your eyes shut. He is wrong. He doesn’t understand.
“What if you don’t tell him you’re coming?” He questions, and you inhale air back into your lungs.
“What?” The night has fallen and you shiver.
“Are you seeing him on Saturday?” He asks, with a low but stern voice.
You try glimpsing inward, at the hurricane of thoughts swirling in your mind. Silently, you thank the solid wall helping you to maintain balance.
No, you're not seeing him on Saturday—at least, you haven't planned anything. Of course, you haven't. Jun went silent for over a week and only came back today. Before you could plan anything, you both ended up in a fight. There's still a chance you might make up before Saturday, though.
Actually, Jun can call you at any moment. Or not. He can call you in the next five minutes or in the next five days. He can simply show up at your place at any time, as he’s done before.
Including on Saturday.
The possibilities of things going wrong are endless.
But, obviously, you’re not saying all of that to Lee Know, so you stick with simplicity by saying, “I don’t think so.”
“Then come.” He appeals, making your heart squeeze, “And don’t tell him.”
Oh, if things were that simple. You shut your eyes, imagining how it would be to see the world through his eyes.
What would happen if he were to be standing in front of you right now? What would you see? Would you catch the same glimpse of disappointment you did that day? Would you find shame and pity in his face, when facing the mess of person you’ve become? Would you find anger and contempt?
Or would you see his face matching the softness and understanding you hear in his voice right now?
You open your eyes wide.
It made no sense. You question your own sanity.
“Why are you being nice?” You can’t help but ask. Fuck it. “It’s weird, Minho. Why would you even care?”
“The way you talk, I’m actually starting to wonder how poorly I’ve treated you.” The trace of hurt among the playfulness in his tone did not go unnoticed. “Am I this monstrous?”
“That’s not it.” You cut in quickly, your thoughts and feelings tangling to the point of becoming an unrecognizable mess.
“Y/N.” He says, and you curse the effect he has on you every time he says your name.
Why does it feel so intimate? Why does it feel so profound, like he’s reaching for the edges of your broken heart and feeling its wounds with the tip of his fingers?
But most importantly, why does he sound to be in as much pain as you are?
“You will be safe.” He says, and the certainty in his tone makes you defensive. He means well, you know, but it is hard to stop the hold back the grim laugh.
“You don’t know what you’re talking about, Minho.” You are safe now. Who does he think he is, implying otherwise? He knows nothing about Jun and your relationship.
He knows nothing about you.
“Sure. I probably don’t.” He dismisses, a little far-fetched, and the graveness in his voice fades away. “Anyway. Come up with a dozen theories of why I’m suddenly being nice now, I don’t mind. Actually, I’d love to hear them on Saturday, so be creative.” You want to protest, but he continues, “And save my number, for God’s sake. Is Chan’s the only number you have saved on your contact list?”
Contrasting feelings battle inside your heart and mind. You feel on the edge, like your world has been turned upside-down. The exhaustion weighs in on your shoulders, and you ache for your bed.
You look up at the sky again, allowing the darkness of nocturnal silence embrace you. It’s a shame you can’t see stars. “I actually have Bin’s and Han’s too.”
“Really?” He wheezes, untying just a little the knot of tension between you two.
“And Hyunjin’s.” You don’t know why you add.
“Now you’re just trying to hurt me.” The smile grows on your lips. “See you on Saturday.”
You hum, too tired to argue, and he hangs up.
You stare blankly at your phone. Your body is both numb and buzzing with a weird energy you can’t name. The thoughts in your head spin so quickly that, just as a Newton’s disk, a blank space is left.
A notification pops up and catches your eye.
Unknown: I really meant it when I said I’m not giving you the chance to skip this one.
Unknown: Lemme know if you need a ride.
Unknown: and save my number.
On your way back home, through bright streets and packed sidewalks, you allow your mind to wander.
Going to anywhere explicitly without Jun was a powerful statement by itself. The fact that it was with the members had an extra impact. Until now, the boys had maintained an overall neutral approach when it came to Jun (except, obviously, for Minho). This changes things, though. Could it be that the request came from Minho individually, and not from all of them? Did Chan know about it? Had he agreed with it? What if Minho was asking you to come without Jun for his own amusement, for the drill of it?
You rub your temples, finally arriving to your apartment. I’m going insane.
As you press the elevator button, one thought stands out amidst the confusion of feelings.
Why would it matter?
What would change if it were a request coming from Minho or even from Chan himself? Jun was never the biggest fan of your friends and he never tried to hide it, not once. They, on the other side, although never explicitly stated not liking Jun, always kept an overall polite approach toward him. Being honest, you’d be surprised if they had any slightly positive opinions about Jun. Could you even blame them? Could Jun blame them? What right had Jun to be upset if the people he so clearly disregarded ended up despising him back?
You step into your apartment, close the door and take off your shoes. The place is pitch dark, but you know all the corners and walls.
If, in the worst case scenario, Jun did end up throwing a tantrum, then what?
You shake your head, reluctant. It is like a big silent lake in your mind with dark and still waters – you do not wish to know what lays underneath. This train of thought is like throwing stones on the water, disturbing the unprovoked.
A resentment starts blooming in your chest, and you direct your mind toward Minho and his motives.
That is not the point, though. The voice echoes in your head.
Even though your better judgment tells you that you should not trust people this easily, still, you believe him. The resentment and anger that had barely bloomed withers, powerless.
Minho hadn’t called you for some evil plan to sabotage your relationship.
Minho called to give you a second chance.
You arrive in your bedroom and turn the lights on at last, flinching from the sudden brightness. The bedroom isn’t cramped, but looks rather small due to the expanded bed. Normally twin-sized, the bed had the structure to be pulled out and expanded, turning into a full-sized one. It looks comfier, and the messy sheets call as siren songs.
In between pillows and blankets, you sigh in relief.
There are many things you still fail to understand, that day at the company is, certainly, the biggest of them all. As time passes, you struggle more and more to make sense of what you’ve heard back then, and in other circumstances, you would’ve thought you had imagined it. Minho and his motives were just a small part of the whole picture.
In the end, one feeling stood out from the tangle: you want to make things right.
Shutting yourself away would not solving anything – in fact, it had only made things worse. It did not help you feel better with yourself. You still couldn’t think of a good way to talk to Chan and the others about it. The disappointment glazing in Minho’s eyes still haunt you to this day, hand in hand with the anger in his shouting.
And on top of all of it, there was what Minho had said on the call. He did imply that they, Chan at least, were suffering, didn’t he? Chan misses you. And it’s not just him. These two sentences kept repeating in your mind like a broken disc, being as soothing as they were painful.
How did it change things?
Could it be that, by trying to push them away so they would not get hurt, you had caused even more harm?
Certainly, there were a lot of missing pieces from this huge puzzle you were trying to solve. Regardless of that, by the time you fall asleep, you are sure of two things:
First, you want to make things right.
Second, you want to go to that party.
The days passed with no major events and you ended up not telling Jun. You weren’t entirely okay with that, as the guilt was still very much there. The sense of wrongness persisted in not telling him all of your plans and routines, especially if they didn’t include him. It was hard to shake off the feeling of betrayal, and you relied on Minho’s words for comfort more often than you were willing to admit.
Jun also had his part on making things easier. For the first time, you thanked the absence and the silence from his end. It’s easier to not speak about something when you simply don’t… well. Speak.
For once, you chose to be bold and you chose to be selfish. You would go and hang out with your friends, leaving the consequences for the future you to deal with.
It was around 5pm. You had already showered and was going through your wardrobe, thinking about what to wear. That was when your phone buzzed with a notification.
Lee Know.: I meant it when I said we are not giving you the alternative of not coming. This is not up for discussion.
Lee Know.: Lemme know if you need a ride.
Lee Know.: and save my number.
Lee Know.: I’m coming to pick you up at 6.
You rolled your eyes. I never said I needed a ride. Minho seemed to be pushing all your buttons and being very aware of that.
You: Thanks, I’ll pass. Tell me where it is and I’ll call an Uber.
The response was almost instantaneous, and made you frown.
Lee Know.: can’t. sorry.
The audacity. Two words and your felt your blood boil.
You: ??? what’s your problem?
You: I said I’m going, you don’t need to escort me.
Annoyed, you let the phone on the coffee table and marched towards your room. You chose a black romper that, even though the neckline was lower than what you would usually wear, it had long loose sleeves that made it one of your favorite pieces of clothes. It was elegant, but mainly comfortable with a very casual vibe to it. It fit the occasion. You dried your hair and put some makeup on, keeping it the simplest you could. Although Minho had called it a “party”, you had attended some of these gatherings before and you hoped it was going to be the same: just some close friends reunited in the dorms. Nothing classy and no glamour. Just a bunch of people hanging out with each other and having fun.
You picked white sneakers and went back to the living room.
You were putting the sneakers on and Minho had yet to reply. If you ended up being late, he would be the one to blame.
Between tying your shoes and cursing Minho, you heard a jingling of metal followed by the click of your front door being unlocked. Your breath was caught in your throat when you saw Jun crossing the doorstep, his gaze finally finding yours.
Fuck.
The argument unfolded unsurprisingly, but by no means coolly. It was like a scene of a movie that you’ve watched countless times and you know all the lines by heart. He flipped out about you sneaking out, as expected, but nothing came even close to the way he looked at you after you said he could not come along.
First, he was furious, thinking you were doing so to make him jealous. Then, when he understood that it was, actually, the boys themselves who asked you to come alone, he was livid.
You tried to cool it off. You explained how stressed the boys were and how this was something to distract them when comeback is so close. You tried telling him that it was something for them and by them, and that they had all the rights to invite whoever they wanted. It was understandable they wanted to keep it between actually close friends – which Jun, clearly, was not.
It had little to no effect. At least, not the one you wanted.
Between cursing and outrageous claims, Jun accused you of choosing them over him. You asked, bordering on pleading, when has it become a competition? Why does it have to be one over the other?
Tears burned on the back of your eyes as you begged for understanding, for sympathy. Jun, meanwhile, laughed wryly. I can’t tell if you’re this naïve or if you’re simply playing dumb. Almost like you both spoke different languages, and you hated how dumb you actually felt.
You like the attention. He said spilling venom, and you looked at him horrified, unable to form any words. I’m right, am I not? I’m so disappointed, Y/N.
That rang a bell in your head.
Maybe it was because you had spent even more time recently thinking back to that time in the elevator, but, even involuntarily, the comparison was inevitable. By putting that event with Minho next to the current Jun, it became obvious to you how little the latter affected you – especially when set side by side. The tears rolling down your cheeks started to dry.
So now, even as you stare at Jun’s horrified expression, like he’s just seen the most atrocious of atrocities in your phone, the fact that the quarrel happened in such a predictable way doesn’t weigh in your conscience as much as you thought it would.
Jun laughs sharply and you know that, whatever it was that Minho had the fortune to text back in the worst moment possible and catch Jun’s attention, made Jun angrier. It is pointless to argue and you don’t feel particularly angry having Jun going through your phone. When you lay back on the couch, all you feel is tiredness.
Jun speaks again but the words go past you without much solid meaning. Joke. Humiliating. Rich. Whore. He drops your phone carelessly, falling to the carpet with a muffled thump. He leaves the apartment with big and loud steps, slamming the door shut on his way out.
Seconds slowly tick by as you’re left alone in silence, the ringing in your ears reflecting the state of your own mind. You force yourself to take deep breaths, calming down your wild heartbeat at the same time that the lump in your throat starts to shrink.
When you finally reach the phone laying on the carpet, your mind is blank and you feel oddly numb. You unlock the device and find the chat with Minho already open. You tell yourself it is normal for your hands to shake.
Lee Know.: I meant it when I said we are not giving you the alternative of not coming. This is not up for discussion.
Lee Know.: Tell me if you need a ride.
Lee Know.: and save my number.
Lee Know.: I’m coming to pick you up at 6.
You: I never said I needed a ride. Tell me where it is, I’ll call an Uber.
Lee Know.: can’t. sorry.
You: ??? what’s your problem?
You: I said I’m going, you don’t need to escort me.
Lee Know.: your boyfriend. he is the problem.
You sigh heavily - God damn it, Lee Know.
At that moment, as if he was listening to your thoughts himself, the phone rings in your hands. You answer it and the words seem leave your mouth on their own accord, “He just left.”
“Where are you?” He asks, after a moment. Minho’s voice is hard, while yours is shaky. You feel exposed, and you vision blurs. You don’t want to start crying again.
“I’m home.” Your voice trembles as you sniffle. I can’t do this now. “It’s okay. Everything is fine.” You gather yourself and speak with a confidence that you both know to be a lie.
“I’m outside.” Minho tells you and it takes you a moment to understand what it meant. Outside…?
You bolt upright and dash toward the balcony, spotting him as soon as you reach the ledge. Even from several stories high up, Minho’s dark figure stands out, standing next to a black car parked across the street. When his eyes meet yours, even at this height, your heartbeat hiccups.
“Do you want me to come up there?” He questions, maintaining eye contact despite the distance.
“It’s fine, you don’t have to.” You dismiss promptly. You were confused about many things, but having Minho in your apartment at that moment sounded undoubtedly like a bad idea. “I’ll be there in five.”
“Y/N, are you sure you are okay? I can call Chan and…” Minho’s voice trails off, his glance shifting from you to something across the street. “Oh, fuck me.” He swears under his breath, so lowly you barely catch it.
“What’s up? Minho?” You bend over the ledge a little, as an attempt to see whatever caught Minho’s attention.
Then your mind connect the dots, and you feel an utter idiot for not considering it earlier.
Jun just left the apartment. It couldn’t be more than five minutes since he had slammed the fucking door behind him. Which meant that Jun was still in the building by the time you picked up the phone.
Was indeed, because you’re sure the other figure you see stepping out the main entrance right now is Jun.
Your eyes dart toward Minho again and you say, soberly and carefully. “Minho.” All the weakness from a moment ago was gone. “Don’t.”
You start hearing Jun’s voice on the background and, though you can’t tell what exactly he is saying, you don’t have to. He’s angry and you watch his figure slowly approach Minho standing as still as a statue on the other side of the street.
You turn around and run.
Jun’s voice gets gradually louder and clearer, indicating he’s getting closer. You press the elevator button anxiously multiple times, but the elevator seems to take forever to arrive. You curse it silently. You curse the elevator and the lack of technological advance to build faster elevators. You curse the building for being too high and curse yourself for not living on the first floor.
“Leave.” Minho’s voice is cold as ice and sharp as a knife and sends shivers down your spine. “You don’t wanna do this.”
Fuck it. You take the stairs.
Jumping two and more steps at a time, you fly downstairs. “Minho.” You call brethless – a beg, a plead, an order, even you can’t tell. He cannot get into trouble, especially an argument in public. If Minho is seen by anyone in public, a fan or not, and it ends up reaching the internet, he’ll be screwed. He cannot stain his image, he’s a fucking idol, for God’s sake! “Please.”
“What is your problem, dude?” You make out Jun’s words, and his bold anger is maddening. Jun should know better than to cause a scene with Minho. He needs to know better. Jun cannot be that immature.
He can’t be. Right?
But rather than the idiotic bad temper, it is the fact that you can clearly hear him now, meaning that he is closer to Minho than you thought, what really troubles you.
Hurry, hurry, hurry. Your loud footsteps echo across the staircase mixed with the sound of you panting.
“Have you not caused enough damage to that poor girl?” Jun goes on mockingly.
“Excuse me?” You hear Minho say between gritted teeth.
“I know your type, big boy. I see what you’re doing.” The proximity between them makes your stomach sink, you can hear Jun even now that he’s not shouting. “You never liked me, huh? Was it because I stole your little toy?”
You feel sick.
“I don’t like what you’re insinuating.” Minho says grimly, “And I’d ask you to not come any closer with this finger pointed.”
“Minho!” You call out again. He needs to back off now. You feel the tears burning on the back of your eyes. Where the fuck is the first floor? Faster, Y/N! Faster faster faster faster.
Jun cackle dryly. “Oh, Cut the crap. We’re not dumb, you know? We heard that little show you put on.”
Jun wouldn’t tell him that. He wouldn’t do it.
“Minho, don’t do anything!” You plead between short breaths, over Jun’s voice. Minho can’t listen to him. “I’m almost-“
The momentary lapse of focus makes you stumble upon your feet, and you let out a yelp as you stumble down. You desperately grab the handrail to stop yourself from falling. The attempt, however, is awkward and you barely manage to steady yourself as one of your foot continues its descend as the rest of your body is jerked backwards.
You find yourself laying stiffly lying on the stairs, still holding on the handrail with one of your hands. Your heartbeat is as fast as the wings of a flying hummingbird, it is stuck in your throat. You let out a breath, then follow to take multiple deep breathes as a way to slow down your heart. Still, you don’t attempt to stand up just yet, not trusting your legs to not act like jelly after the shock. You’re okay.
A moment after, you register the slam of a door being opened extremely close. A fear of having someone seeing you like this, sitting on the dirty ground of the staircase so obviously affected starts forming in your mind. Before you can articulate it, and perhaps stand up to compose yourself, Lee Know enters your line of sight. Oh, so I was on the first floor.
Damn, so close.
His eyes widen as he assimilates the scene in front of him, and you fear his eyes might pop out of his skull. He went paler by two tones at least, and you wonder how bad you look. You start reassuring him you’re fine, but when you’re about to stand up, Minho already flew and is by your side, stopping you.
“Do not move.” He takes your hand from the handrail in his, holds it for a moment, and places it on your side. You watch him as his eyes run through your body, inspecting it. Being the main focus of his attention is intense, and you shift in place, uneasy. “Did you hit your head? Your back? Do you know what your name is?”
You blink, surprised by the overflow of questions. There is something so tender about the look in his eyes that lit up an entire lighthouse in your chest. There is also a fear of someone who has seen a ghost – or went through a near death experience from falling down the stairs – and you have the urge to take his hand on yours, but you hold yourself back. The apprehension in his demeanor is something new to you and worth to note. His hair looks soft and it’s shorter than it was last time you saw him. The shade also changed, a chocolate kind of brown replaced the black – and you decide you like it just as much. Your eyes travel down to look at what he’s wearing.  The black bottom-up shirt has the first and second bottom open, making you instantly shot your eyes back up. You find Minho tilting his head to the side. “Y/N?”
“Yes?” The word comes out as breathless as before, and you blame it on the fall. You cough and close your eyes, breathing in slowly. Calm down, Y/N.
“I’ve asked you a question.” Minho says, and you spot a hint of amusement in the sea of concern in his voice.
You open your eyes. “You’ve asked several questions, actually.”
He smiles softly, which works against your goal of slowing your heartbeats. “Yet, you haven’t answered not even one.”
You roll your eyes. “I’m fine.” He doesn’t say anything and keeps staring, waiting for you to go on. “Really. It was just not the most graceful of my falls, I guess.”
He cracks first and chuckles, which gets a laugh from you and soon you’re both cackling.
The laughs have calmed down when he inhales deeply, close his eyes and let his head fall back, “What the fuck were you thinking?” He breathes out. Even though he’s not looking at you, you feel the need to look down, fidgeting.
You murmur, “I was scared you could get in trouble.” It doesn’t give half the picture of what was going through your head and it sounds pathetically silly, but you don’t elaborate any further.
“So you thought that running downstairs would be a good idea?” There is a shadow of teasing in his voice. You had expected Minho to make fun of you. You could see him telling you how dumb and reckless you were, saying how even kids know they shouldn’t run when going downstairs. You expected to be blamed for something so stupid. Instead, you encounter fear when he asks lowly, “Do you have any idea how badly you could’ve been injured?”
This rough concern coming from him was unsettling – you knew he was a caring person, but he’s only shown it when it came to the other members. You had never experienced it yourself before. “What else could I do, Minho?” Your voice doesn’t falter. “What was I supposed to do? Just wait and hope you’re not seen causing a scene? Chris would kill me.”
“I was not causing a scene.” He’s bitter, and you understand. After all, he is right. He wasn’t the one adding fuel to the fire.
“Would that even matter?” Your question comes out as a plead, and for once you’re not embarrassed. You both know what you mean. You’re aware of how they have to watch even the most innocent of actions when in public. Tabloids have the power to mess with someone’s image, it doesn’t matter if they are true or not. The public doesn’t care, and neither does the company. His carrier is intrinsically involved with public image. What could happen if someone recognized him arguing with Jun, and ended up posting on the internet? Idol Lee Know, fighting with a random civilian on the street. Would it matter who was the one who started it? The company had taken severe actions for much less. “You should’ve gone back inside the car and locked the damn door.”
It’s his time to roll his eyes, but before he respond, the slam of a door echoes throughout the staircase. You tense, your gaze shifting towards the stairway. Minho, on the other hand, simply stands up, but with his eyes still fixed on you.
Jun goes up a few stairs and shortly reach both of you. “What the hell?!” He shouts at Minho, spotting him first. Minho doesn’t acknowledge his presence. “What the fuck is wron-“ He follows Minho’s stare only to find you and, probably thrown off by the strange image of you half sitting half laid on the floor of a public staircase, Jun’s behavior shifts. The aggression is replaced by concern and confusion “Oh my God, Y/N. Are you okay?” He mentions to step closer towards you, but Minho blocks his passage with an arm. You see Jun’s face getting red with anger again. “Who do you think you are?! She’s my girlfriend!”
Although Jun storms at Minho, the latter doesn’t even glance at his direction. Instead, you find Minho searching for your eyes – and when they do find them, you don’t think of your heart skipping a beat. Somehow, you understand the silent question in his gaze: he wants to know from you whether he should allow Jun to come closer or not.
It makes your heart swell.
You don’t want Minho to give in – you don’t want yourself to give in. Although it shouldn’t be some kind of competition of who has more power over who, you think. First, to get some of your dignity back, you should at least look at them in the eye. You grip on the handrail once more and propel your body upward, rising to your feet.
At least you did, for a brief second. Then, you’re taken by a sudden strike of pain that hit your right ankle like a lightening. You cry out and collapse to the floor again – or you would, if it wasn’t for Minho. Before you know it, Minho has one arm around your body and pulls you closer to him. Leaning on him, you regain your balance and stand on one foot – the one not hurting.
“Are you okay?” He asks lowly as he stares down at your feet.
“Yes.” You breathe out and follow his gaze. “Fuck. Shit. It wasn’t hurting before. I swear.” You look at him apologetically, and you don’t understand the need to apologize.
“I know, Y/N.” He meets your eyes and soothes your side with the hand steading you for a moment. “It’s okay. Let’s take you to the hospital.”
You shake your head anxiously, “It’s fine. We’ll be late if we don’t leave.”
“I can take her.” Jun chimes in with a hint of smugness, reminding both of you of his unfortunate presence.
“I don’t need to be taken anywhere.” You snap at him and unconsciously try to step back from Minho. The pain shots through your body once again and you clench your teeth, instantly leaning back on him again.
Minho lets out an annoyed sigh. Suddenly, he lifts you up and holds you bridal-style. “Ya! I can walk!” You squeal, ignoring the butterflies in your stomach and the increasing warm on your cheeks.
“I’m sure you can. But as you said it yourself, we’ll be late if we don’t leave and we don’t have much time.” He says, turning around. You see Jun’s shocked look, and becoming more and more horrified after Minho says, “If you excuse us, you’re in the way.”
“I said I can take her. You can go on and meet your friends.” Jun doesn’t hide the venomous intent.
“Oh, I will.” Minho replies, indifferently. “With her. Now, move.”
Both yours and Jun’s faces get redder and redder, but you guess it’s from different emotions. “Or what?” He growls, and it sends a shiver down your spine. It’s gone too far. This bickering went too far.  You want to apologize, to clarify things. You open your mouth and nothing comes out – you don’t know what to apologize for. You almost say “It’s not what you think!”, but you realize it sounds as idiotic as not saying anything.
“I’ve been told to keep myself away from problems, and, as you can see, my hands are quite busy.” You groan quietly, and hides your face on Minho’s shirt. Slightly bad choice – his scent wraps around you like a blanket, and you become hyperaware from the steady thud coming from his chest, far slower than yours. Oh my God, can he feel my heartbeat? “So I’m afraid we’ll have to stand here for hours just staring at each other’s faces. It doesn’t sound much fun, does it?” Minho tilts his head to one side, “Although my face is way more pleasant to look at.”
You tug Minho’s shirt, “Minho. That’s enough.” Jun makes an outraged noise, and you exasperate, “Come on, Jun. Stop being childish, you two. Can we go, please?” The last request, directed at Minho, comes out way softer than the rest and you feel your face burning once more.
In disbelief, Jun steps aside. As Minho passes by him, you murmur a sincere apology. You feel Minho’s shoulder tense, but he doesn’t stop walking.
Jun doesn’t follow you outside the building. Minho crosses the street toward the parked car in silence. There is a tension in the air, and you know he is angry. Minho is definitely mad at Jun, for being an ass, but you feel he is mad at you too. The silence is intimidating, though, and you don’t dare to break it.
When he reaches the car, he shifts his hold onto you to just an arm for a brief moment, enough so he could open the car door. He does it so smoothly you could’ve missed. Gently, he places you on the passenger seat, pushing the seat backwards to give you plenty of space to stretch your leg.
His hands hover for a moment, hesitantly, but before you can ask, he removes them and let them fall on his sides in closed fists. Minho’s expression is grave, and you can almost see the gears spinning in his head. He inhales deeply and runs his fingers back on his hair.
When he comes to look at you again, the somberness is gone. He’s locked his thoughts and emotions somewhere far away inside his mind and if you had one wish, it’d be for you to have the key.
Although his voice is soft, it feels somehow forced. “Are you comfortable? Does anything else hurt?”
“I am fine, I promise.” You shift anxiously on the leather fancy seat, “Extremely comfortable.” You add, giving him both thumbs up and a smile.
He scoffs dryly, though some tension washed off his body. Pleased with easing things a little, you think that, perhaps, leaving with Minho and then going to the party to meet you friends again doesn’t have to be so painfully awkward. Things are fine, you think. There is a big chance that the awkwardness exists only in your head, that it might not be the same to the others. Maybe, hanging out with them will be as natural as it always was. Maybe, they don’t hate you. Maybe, things will be alright.
After all, they are your friends. You don’t need to be on the edge.
You thought Minho was going to close your door and walk to the driving seat. Instead, out of nowhere, he comes closer, hovering over you. You yelp and hold your breath, dizzy by the unexpected and definitely not usual proximity. His perfume hasn’t left you yet. His side profile is so close that you can see all the small dots on his skin. You want to caress it. Your eyes move to his long dark eyelashes. You’re jealous. You are amazed by how sharp his features are, and you wonder if it would be weird to have your fingers tracing his jaw. Then his cheekbones. Then his nose.
Then his lips.
“Found it.” He whispers to himself. Suddenly, your backseat reclines a little and you’re caught by surprise. “Is it better?” He finally turns to face you. Still close, but not as close as before, you’re sure it doesn’t take much to notice the flushed mess you are. You feel you were caught doing something very, very bad. And wrong. Oh my God, so wrong.
You shake your head, trying to shoo the wicked thoughts away. When you look your eyes, though, you feel your sanity slipping through every crack in your mind as a smirk grows on Minho’s lips. “I asked you a question, Y/N.”
God help me.
All you manage to do is nod once, gaining a hum in satisfaction from him. He backs away and close your door, and you watch him walk around the car and enter on the driver’s side. You close your eyes and take deep breaths, trying to calm down the pounding inside your chest. He puts his seatbelts on and you wait for him to start the engine. There is a moment of silence, forcing you to open your eyes.
Minho is staring at you. With an eyebrow raised and failing to hold back a smile, he looks at you with curiosity. You look at him back, challenging. “What?”
“Seatbelts, Y/N. Or should I put them on too?” He teases, and your eyes open wide. Definitely not. Shortly you are fastening your seatbelt as Minho finally gives up on holding back and laughs. You cross your arms and curse him under your breath, while he starts the engine and pull off.
A few minutes later, the car dashboard signalizes Minho is receiving a call. Involuntary, you glance at the screen at the same moment Minho takes the call. It’s Chris.
“Yes, Hyung?”
“Hey, are you on your way? Did you get Y/N?” Chan’s voice comes through the speaker. Your heart aches a little, realizing how long it has been since you started avoiding them, and how much you missed the casualty and warmth.
“I don’t think we can make it, Chan-hyung. Y/N probably got a sprained ankle or something of the sort.” You catch Minho’s eyes shifting from the road to your stretched leg just for a moment. “I’m taking her to the hospital.”
“To the hospital?!” Chan’s surprised squeal makes you blush, embarrassed for causing trouble even now. “Oh my Gosh. I’m gonna kill that dickhead. That was him, wasn’t it? That fucker I will-”
The sudden shift from surprise to anger caught you off guard. You open your mouth to say something, but the words don’t come.
“It was not the dickhead, for the matter.” Minho cuts the flow of cursing off. “Also, you’ll like to know we’re in the car right now.” He adds quickly, at the same time you try to think of something to say. “She can hear you.”
Chan audibly chokes and coughs. “Oh, fuck. Sorry.” He manages to say, cleaning his throat. “I’m sorry. Hi Y/N.”
He’s obviously embarrassed, which makes you feel slightly better. “Hi Channie.”
“You should’ve started saying that, Minho.” Chan says, lowly, and a smile grows in your lips once more when Minho murmurs something under his breath. “Are you okay, sweetheart? What happened?”
His soft voice was enough to dismantle any kind of discomfort, you thought. “I’m okay.” You start.
“She fell downstairs.” Minho chimes in, and you shoot an angry look at him, which he ignores bluntly. “She thought it would be a great idea to run down several stories of stairs, like a damn child.” Minho says wryly, keeping his eyes on the road. “She’s lucky it’s not anything more serious.”
“I was trying to save your ass!” You protest.
“My ass did not need to be saved.” He states.
“Oh, sure.” You roll your eyes. “Clearly you were not about to jump at my boyfriend’s throat. I wasn’t even there and I could tell.”
“Excuse me?” His voice falters with anger and he scoffs, “I was about to jump at his throat? I think you might mistaking the parties here, dear.”
You ignore the pet name and point your finger at him. “You should’ve gone back inside the car the moment you saw him and you know it.” His eyes travel from the road, to your face, then to your finger and back to your face.
“Are you actually pointing a finger at me right now?” He raises his eyebrows and turns his eyes back to the road. Heat spreads in your cheeks and you recoil your hand.
“Should I ask or…?” Chan speaks up hesitantly.
“No.” Minho says fiercely and you huff, crossing your arms across your chest and looking away.
“You didn’t get into trouble, right, Minho?” Chan asks again.
“Of course not.”
“You’re welcome.” You chime in, grimly, and you don’t face away when Minho shoots an angry look at you.
“Good to know you two are getting along.” Chan offers, with a hint of fun in his tone.
You gasp and utter “We are not getting along.”
At the same time, Minho says nonchalantly, “A hundred percent.” You stare at him in disbelief, but he refuses to glance back at you.
“Do you think it’s serious, Minho?” Chan asks and the shift in his voice is so abrupt that, for a moment, you don’t know what he is referring to.
You catch Minho’s eyes shifting from the road to your legs again, and you feel the growing heat in your cheeks. You’d give anything to go back in time and choose some jeans or anything that covered your legs instead.
“It’s probably just a strained ankle, hyung.” He glances away and you shift anxiously.
“I am fine.” You say, exasperated. “I even told him we should head to the dorms instead.”
“That’s because you’re stubborn, not fine.” Chan cuts you, and you see the corner of Minho’s mouth turning up. “Keep me updated, Minho. We’ll talk later.” Minho agrees monosyllabically and hangs up.
Minho stays quiet during the rest of the ride. You risk one or two glances in his direction, but he seems to remain unaware, his attention fixed on the traffic. Sometimes, you catch his jaw clenched, and he holds the wheel so tightly for a moment that his knuckles go white.
But here's the thing: besides these small and subtle gestures, his expression remains painfully plain. It's puzzling, and it intrigues you against your will. You keep telling yourself that not only do you not care, but also it has nothing to do with you. The man would probably not even make the effort to reply if you asked, or maybe you'd hear a 'None of your business,' if he felt like it.
After a moment, you decide that you don't mind. You reach for the air to ask what's bothering him, to seek permission for a glimpse into his inaccessible mind, but you exhale right after. The question dies on your tongue when he takes a turn, and the large white building emerges.
Maybe for the best.
He parks swiftly, quickly turning the car off and getting off. When you turn to open your own door, he’s already standing outside and doing it first.
“Should I get a wheelchair?” Minho tries, hesitant, his hands dance on the air unsure of what to do.
A short laugh escapes you before you can stop it. “It’s not necessary, Minho.” You mention to get off and, when he offers his help, you accept it. “Thank you, it’s okay. I’m sure I can handle it.”
He holds your hand with one hand, while the other presses your back giving you balance. Minho doesn’t answer right away and when you look up, he has a confused look on his face. He blinks once, then twice, assimilating your words. “What?” You can’t help but ask.
“I’m not leaving.” He declares, and it’s your turn to blink confusedly.
“Chan is waiting for you.” You explain, firming your weight to your good foot.
“Yes.” He moves to your side still holding your hand firmly, while having his other hovering on your back. “And for you too. So let’s go inside.”
You don’t move, still staring at him. “You’re going inside with me? You don’t have to.”
A soft smile blooms shyly on Minho’s lips. “Silly. You can barely stand. Shall we?”
A feeling of déjà vu fills your chest, and you shove it back inside. You let him guide you into the hospital, scolding yourself silently for finding yourself in front of this building with Lee Know by your side more often than you deemed appropriate.

I have finally got a new laptop, so I celebrated by writing a Carlos fic. Fluff/Hurt/Comfort. Brief mention of death/murder. Word count: 1013
Tumblr media
The First "I Love You"
Quietly and carefully, Carlos unlocked the door to your shared home. He was desperate to get inside and finally go to bed, but he didn’t want to wake you. Waking you would mean explaining himself straight away, and he'd rather put that off by another couple of hours. At least until his brain was awake enough to not get too emotional or confused, anyway. And if you did wake up, you’d know something was up right away, because he wasn’t looking too good.
Undressing himself in the bathroom, Carlos winced. The wound on his arm had already started to heal, but everytime he accidentally brushed against it, it still hurt pretty badly. He made a mental note to himself to not lie down on that side before sliding into bed with you.
You had just fallen asleep when you awoke to the feeling of something moving beside you. Groggily, you sat up and switched on the light on your nightstand. Carlos was sitting in bed next to you and shot you an apologetic look. “Hey Y/N. Didn’t mean to wake you, sorry about that.” His voice sounded rough.
“Carlos?” You were fully awake again in an instant. “Carlos, what the hell happened?”
There was a large cut on his forehead; it was still a bit red around the edges of the wound. He was also spotting a black eye and you could see a bandage around his upper arm.
He shrugged lightly. “It’s nothing.”
“It’s something,” you replied, worried. “Did you get into a fight? You promised your job only consisted of rescuing people, not fighting anyone! You specifically told me you never wanted to fight anyone ever again.”
Carlos looked away. “We don’t fight people. We’re not supposed to, anyway. But my team was attacked by some fucking organisation that deals in bioweapons, and we had no choice but to defend ourselves and the people we were trying to get out of there.” He sighed. “It’s fine, baby, it’s just a couple of scratches and bruises. They’ll be gone by the end of the week.”
“Could you please look at me?” You asked softly.
He turned to face you. He looked hurt. You could see in his eyes that he was upset about whatever had happened exactly.
“Carlos?” You placed your hand on his arm. “You’re not okay, are you.”
Carlos looked away again and quietly shook his head.
“Do you want to talk about it?”
Carlos shrugged. He couldn’t do it. Not now. You had only gotten together relatively recently, and while he trusted you, his fear of driving you away from him made him feel extremely anxious. “I can’t,” he whispered.
“Why not?” You scooted closer to him and rested your head on his shoulder. “You can tell me anything. I told you that before. I won’t judge, but you have to understand I worry about you. Even more so if you keep things to yourself.”
“I don’t want you to leave,” he replied in a low voice. “I’m already attached to you.”
You thought for a moment. Thought about what might have happened. There were a handful of things that might cause you to leave him, but you doubted he’d ever do one of those things.
“What if I promise I won’t leave?” You asked softly. “Did something happen while you were trying to protect yourself and your team?”
Carlos nodded. “Yeah… Yeah, you can say that.” His hands were shaking, and he tried to force them to stop. It took every cell in his body to keep his composure. He wasn’t going to break down. Not right now. He just wanted to sleep, he was exhausted.
“What was it?”
“I killed a man.” He just blurted out. “I killed a man, because had I not done that, he would’ve killed my medic.”
There it was. It was out in the open now, Carlos thought to himself. Now you’d leave and he would find himself alone again.
You remained silent for a couple of seconds. “You killed a man that works for a fucked up organisation, to protect someone essentially innocent?”
“Yeah.”
“And you thought I would leave you because of that?”
Carlos laughed, but it didn’t sound sincere. “Yep. And I wouldn’t blame you if you walked out right now.”
You wrapped your arms around his shoulder and placed a small kiss on his cheek. “I’m not going anywhere,” you whispered. “I’m going to be here until you either kick me out or hurt me. And I doubt you ever will.” You paused for a second. “Hurt me, that is. Dunno about the kicking out, of course.”
“Are you crazy?” Carlos sounded almost annoyed. “I need you, Y/N, and sometimes it seems you need me, too.”
“You can say that again,” you sighed. It was hard to imagine life without him already. You’d never lost your heart to someone that quickly before. “Either way, do you want to tell me more about what happened? Talking about this sort of thing is important.”
“I know, the shrink told me that many times. But… I don’t want to talk right now, though. Maybe later. I just want to cuddle up to you and get some damn sleep.”
“Okay.” You lied back down and pulled Carlos towards you. He immediately turned off the light and wrapped his arms around you, trying to get as close to you as physically possible.
“You gonna leave some room for me to breathe?” You asked, half joking. It sure felt good to have him close to you again. You were always worried when he was off on another rescue mission, so him coming home safe always felt like getting blessed.
His grip around you softened a bit, but he didn’t move even a centimetre away. “Sorry about that.”
“This is perfect,” you sighed. “I’m glad you’re back home.”
“Same,” Carlos muttered. “Hey Y/N…?”
“Yeah?”
“I eh…” Carlos hesitated for a second. “I think I love you?”
You smiled, obviously invisible in the dark of the night. “I think I love you, too.”

The waking up, having forgotten and remembering the full extent of what forever is
6x17 Spec (AO3)
“Okay, so, a couple years ago, we were responding to a call and then he got... he got shot, right in front of me... in the middle of the street... and out of nowhere, he almost died.” “So he had his very own brush with death,” Natalia’s eyebrows arch. “Cool.”
“Hey, are you alright?” Natalia asks, snapping Buck back to reality.
His coffee’s gone cold. He looks at the cup, shyly, then back at her. To be honest, Buck is far from fine. He’s exhausted. The day was long, the calls were complicated, Eddie was acting off, Chim was stressing out about proposing to his sister like they aren’t already practically married anyway, and all he wants deep down is to go home, take a shower and sleep twelve hours straight.
But he’s been pushing back this date with Natalia for almost a whole week now (not his fault, just STUFF that kept randomly happening and getting in the way because the Universe will not give Evan Buckley a single break) and he didn’t want her to think he was ghosting her or something. So now he’s here, staring at a cold coffee cup, thoughts far away.
“Sorry, yeah. I’m- I was just thinking about that call, from this morning...”
“The proposal,” Natalia guesses.
Buck nods with a heavy sigh.
“The sky diver... You know, I actually told Chim to do that last week?” He asks, dread filling him up, but shakes the idea as quickly as possible. “I just- I keep thinking about that guy. He was in love, he had every single reason to survive, to live for... and he just, he didn’t make it.”
Buck still remembers the man’s ribs cracking under his palms, his fiancé’s sobs somewhere across the street, Bobby’s hand on his shoulder forcing him to stop. He’s gone, kid.
“It’s just death,” Natalia says, gently. “Most people who go there don’t come back.”
“Yeah, but I did,” Buck says, a little too sharply. “I- I came back, I got a second chance. Why didn’t he? He had so much to live for...”
“Didn’t you?”
Buck blinks at her. He thinks of endless hospital hallways, of a thick glass wall, of his own face filled with every cruel word he’s ever said. He thinks of the words Bobby Nash is dead, and a Diaz-shapped hole in the world.
“Yeah, I did. But-”
“But he had more?” Natalia guesses.
Buck shrugs. “Maybe. I don’t know. I just- It doesn’t seem fair.”
“Death isn’t fair, Buck,” her eyes sparkle as she speaks, like they do every time they broach her favorite subject. Which is, if he’s being honest, every time they meet. “Death just is. And everything else, well... it doesn’t matter.”
“It has to matter,” Buck shakes his head. “There has to be a reason.”
“A reason he died? Or a reason you survived?”
“I don’t know. Both? I just- I wish I knew, you know? I wish I could tell for sure why I’m still here.”
“To share your wisdom with me?” Natalia teases and it manages to make him chuckle, though even he can tell the sound is far from happy.
“Maybe. Maybe that’s why.”
Maybe he came back to meet her, to know her, to love her and be loved by her, to finally get it right. Yeah. Maybe. It doesn’t feel entirely right, though.
“I just hate how random these things are, you know? This guy did everything right, but he just flew across a bank robbery car chase, and... just like that, his life was over.”
“In a flash?” Natalia asks, arching an eyebrow, easily guessing where Buck’s thoughts really are. And he’s slightly embarrassed, because he really should know by now that he’s not the center of the universe, but he can’t help it when these things affect him.
“These things just keep happening when you least expect them.”
“These things... plural?” She asks, eyes a little eager again, clearly guessing he’s about to mention another brush with death.
“It’s like- like when Eddie got shot,” he says. “You- you know Eddie, right, my best friend? He- he was at the call at Marie’s funeral, when we met,” he explains, which really shouldn’t be necessary because even if they haven’t officially met he knows he’s mentioned Eddie more than once to Natalia. What did you do today? How did you day go? So where were you on the weekend? The answer always leads back to Eddie and Chris. Still, Natalia has the good grace to nod along. “Okay, so, a couple years ago, we were responding to a call and then he got... he got shot, right in front of me... in the middle of the street... and out of nowhere, he almost died.”
“So he had his very own brush with death,” Natalia’s eyebrows arch. “Cool.”
The word rips through him like a bullet, like lightning, it knocks the air out of his lungs and fills them with something akin to acid.
“Cool?” He says, voice low and slow and angry. “Eddie almost dying wasn’t ‘cool’, Nat. He was bleeding out in the middle of the street. I had to drag him out, I had to beg him not to die on the way to the hospital, he- he could’ve died. For real. Forever.”
“But he didn’t, just like you.”
“It doesn’t matter! Just- just because he survived it doesn’t mean it’s nothing!”
And just as he’s starting to feel awful about raising his voice, something shifts in Natalia’s face. A small, victorious, smile blooms across her face and her eyes shine with a new kind of excitement. And, just like that, it comes crashing down on him.
“This... this was never a date, was it?” He asks, voice hoarse.
At that, her expression twists guiltily. She shakes her head.
“Then- then what was the whole... the being interested in my dying.”
“Oh, I am interested,” Natalia says, lightly. “But I think you didn’t really want to talk about it. Not seriously, at least. The way you brought it up, when we first met, like it was just something funny or curious that happened to you... I figured you needed someone to match that tone, to help you to open up. And eventually...”
“...realize that it wasn’t nothing,” Buck finishes, ducking his head to hide his embarrassment.
“Just because you’re still here, Buck, it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. To you... to the people who love you.”
For the first time, Buck’s head actually thinks about his family seeing him die. He thinks about how Eddie’s shooting wrecked him, and finally understands that perhaps that’s why they’ve been acting weird since he came back, like he could break any second, like they are waiting for him to catch up on what happened. Buck, you died. Buck, you died. You died, Buck.
“I know it happened. I just... I want it to mean something.”
“It already does. It can mean whatever you want it to.”
Buck takes in a shaky breath and lets it out slowly, meeting her eyes again.
“Death isn’t about life ending, Buck, it’s about the journey before. And, for you, there’s still a whole journey ahead... and behind. You can’t shake off your past like you’re changing skin, you wouldn’t learn anything that way. This is a second chance at your life, not some other imagined one. A lot of people who go through similar situations, who die and come back, want to burn it all to the ground, be someone new... but that’s just another way of running away.”
“Or go to Italy,” Buck huffs, amused, and for the first time in this entire conversation Natalia looks confused. He just shakes his head. “I guess I’ve just been... I’ve been trying to use this to find my way, but instead I’ve been so lost.”
“Maybe you’re looking in the wrong places,” she says, with a sweet smile, and he knows she means herself.
“Yeah, maybe. But I don’t know where else to look.”
“I can’t help you with that,” Natalia says, as she gestures for the check. “But in my experience, life and death aren’t so different in that they can catch you in the most unexpected places. Sometimes... right under your nose.”
“Wouldn’t that be funny?” Eddie’s never going to let him live this down when he tells him. “Uh... I feel like I should be paying for the session, or sessions, you know?”
“You can just pay for my coffee,” she laughs. “And maybe one of those chocolate muffins to go.”
Buck laughs, and hopes that Natalia keeps in touch because, even if clearly they haven’t been dating, he kinda likes her. She’d be a good friend to have around.
“So... if I have any more questions... about death?” He says, watching her pick up her purse and straighten her dress.
“You can always call me, Buck, but I think you already have all the answers you’re looking for. You just gotta let yourself see them.”
And with that, she gives his shoulder a quick squeeze as she passes by and walks away. Buck sighs, and finds himself smiling.
As he walks out of the cafe, he pulls out his phone and shoots Eddie a quick text: Man do I have a story to tell you. Wanna grab a beer?
Eddie’s reply comes quickly: Always. My place or yours?
Yours. Buck writes back, hopping into the jeep.

Rainstorms
Warnings: slight injuries, let me know if I missed any :)
Pairings: Sherlock Holmes x sister reader
Request: I would love an Enola Holmes Sherlock/sister!reader of some kind. Something comforting, like the reader getting lost on the way home and Sherlock finding her and making sure she gets home safe. I’m a sucker for brother-sister tropes. :D
Requested by: Anon
*not my gif*
Summary: A sudden storm hits, and you can’t find your way home
A/N: I wanted this to be better, but whatever
Please don’t plagiarize my work, you may reblog if you like but I’m asking that you don’t steal my hard work
Tumblr media
It wasn’t supposed to rain. The newspapers had specifically stated that the weather would be absolutely perfect with hardly a cloud in the sky for the next week or so.
Worst case scenario, there would be a tiny drizzle at one point, not the torrential downpour that you were currently stumbling your way through.
Sherlock had been hesitant enough to allow you to walk from school back home- and it was only two streets away- so you could only imagine the kind of heart attack he would be having if he were there with you right now.
Despite that fact though, you longed for him to be with you in that moment as you wrapped your arms around yourself to try and preserve body heat that had long since vanished.
Over the last three days, your elder brother had been wrapped up in a case that he was so close to cracking, that he didn’t even have time to walk you home from school.
It wasn’t like he didn’t want to- of course he did- but the authorities were breathing down his neck for this case, hardly even letting the man get a couple mere hours of sleep a night.
It was raining so heavily at this point, that you could hardly see a foot in front of your own face, and the bricks that paved the sidewalk had become so slippery that you had to unravel one of your arms from around you and use it to steady yourself on the side of a nearby building.
Panic began to flood into your body faster than the rain had filled the streets and your breathing began to pick up to an abnormal pace, causing you to try and take deep, gasping breaths that left you sputtering from rain being dragged into your gaping mouth.
You had no idea where you were. You had no idea what was going on. The only sounds that filled your ears were the harsh slapping of rain on brick.
All of your senses were clogged by the rain, rain, rain, rain, rain-
As you continued to try and trek forward in hopes of finding home, your right foot slipped off to the side while all your weight was put into it, causing you to go tumbling to the ground.
Dully, you felt the stinging sensation on your palms from impact with the ground, but quickly huddled up against yourself and lent back against the wall, dropping your head into your lap.
Only two streets away, Sherlock’s attention was diverted from the papers in front of him for the first time in hours by the feel of something wet against his cheek.
His head lifted from his desk and a silent curse left his lips when he realized it was raining and his window had been left open.
He hurried to close it, but froze as soon as it was latched back into place. You hadn’t yet returned from school and you should have at least ten minutes ago.
With slightly panic-filled eyes, he took in the scene of the outside, with vendors' tables blowing every which way and the rain beating down like a merciless drum.
Without wasting another second, he practically flew to the door and hurriedly shrugged on his coat before quickly swiping an umbrella and rushing outside.
As soon as the door opened, he was forced to tighten his grip on the umbrella in fear of it blowing away in the strong winds.
“Y/n?” He began to call in a frenzy.
You were only nine years old and he had been stupid enough to allow you to travel the dangerous streets of London all by yourself because he couldn’t take five minutes out of his day to ensure that you were safe.
“Y/n?” Hardly any people were out in the storm, most having sought out shelter by then, and for the first time in a long time, Sherlock Holmes was truly becoming terrified.
Anything could have happened to you during or even before the storm, and he would hold himself responsible for the rest of his life if that were the case.
“Y/n!”
Your ears perked up at the sound. It seemed so far away, so soft, like the light at the end of a very long tunnel.
For a moment, you had thought you made it up, until it sounded again, “Y/n?”
You were finally able to lift your head from your knees, and there, like a knight in soaked armor, stood your brother, staring down at you with wide eyes as his chest heaved up and down in pants, like he had run a marathon to get to you.
“Sherlock?” You asked shakily, teeth rattling from the cold.
“Oh, Y/n,” He breathed out, immediately crouching down and scooping you up into his arms. He had long since lost the umbrella, or he would have flung it to the side without a care.
Though his shirt was drenched through like yours, his chest somehow still held a warmth that you automatically nestled into as he picked up his pace to get the two of you back home.
When you finally did get back, he kicked the door shut behind him and hurried over to the couch near the fire, gently resting you on there before scrambling around to try and find some blankets to cover you with.
By the time your chills had eventually subsided, your brother was sitting on the table in front of you, eyes worriedly raking over your body over and over again.
“Sherlock-“
“I am so sorry,” He interrupted you. And though you were young, you were taken aback, because your brother never apologized. He would always make up things in a different way, like buying you candy or making you your favorite food, “I never should have let you walk home all by yourself.”
He leaned forward and pressed a kiss to your forehead, “I promise, I will never put my cases before your own needs again.”
Without thinking much of it, you threw the blankets aside and leapt towards your brother with outstretched arms, him catching you with ease, “It’s okay,” You whispered into the clothing of his shoulder.
He shook his head stubbornly, pulling away slightly so you could look him in the eyes, “I never meant to do that.”
“I know,” You replied, smiling softly at him.
He smiled back, relaxing slightly when he finally came to terms with the fact that you were no longer in danger, “Come on,” He said, lifting you up and spinning you around a little so that giggles escaped your lips, “Let’s go make some warm food.”

a sweeter alternative
Rating: T Chapters: 1/1 Words: 6868 Fandom: Ensemble Stars Ships: ReiKao Relevant "tags": blood time. uh sex mentions and allusions i don't write it though i'm not at that comfort level yet.
“You know how he uses it in place of blood?” Kaoru kept his eyes on Rei, catching Adonis’s nod in the corner on his eye. “Well the past couple of months, it hasn’t been doing the job.” “Huh? What do you mean past couple of months?” Koga eyed Rei. “He’s been drinking twice the amount he usually does, he’s been drinking different brands, and he’s still slow as if he’s low on energy.”
i'll add squidgeworld link when i post to there
for now u can read under the cut!
i suppose i can start putting my notes here in the mean time. uhhh this one's been in the works since october, just chipping away at it here and there. idr what the inspo was i think i just wanted to address the vampire thing.
his vampirism works how i want it to work bc it's a disability and i am also disabled and that's that. idc that vampirism isn't real
this is in my little series i had on ao3 where they live together in an apartment and i don't know the timeline for realsies i'm making shit up. this is actually the first one in the series to not have a pinocchioP title and it's bc. i couldn't find one. what can i say he doesn't have any vampire songs. the vocaloid vampire song also didn't fit but it was the working title of this.
i'll also make a page for this series on this blog since. gestures to no longer using ao3

“Rei-kun.”
“Mmm.”
“Don’t ‘mmm’ me, you heard exactly what I just said.”
Rei doesn’t answer, entirely pissing Kaoru off. “You have had two large containers of tomato juice this week and you’re still falling asleep in random places. It’s not working the way it used to.” Rei’s grip on his pillow grows tighter as he really pushes the limits his face can go into it. “It’s 8pm, and I’ve been trying to wake you up for almost two hours.” He walked over to the bed to take the pillow, only to find Rei’s resistance to be much stronger than it should be. “This. Has been happening. For two months!!!” He tugged at the pillow with all of his might, though he really couldn’t get anywhere with it. “You need blood!” A final tug that still resulted in nothing causes Kaoru to let go, huffing as he caught his breath. “I don’t pretend to know your condition, but I fear that staying strictly with tomato juice isn’t going to work anymore!”
Rei stayed with his head buried in the pillow, only letting out a groan in response.
“You’re acting like a child.”
Rei mumbled a response into the pillow, completely inaudible.
“I can’t hear you.” A beat. Two. “You are impossible.” He huffed, walking with a little too much force out of the room.
Only when he was sure Kaoru was out of sight did Rei lift his head to look out into the living room. He frowned, eyebrows scrunched together in…it’s not anger, it’s not disappointment, dismay?
He didn’t really want to accept that Kaoru was right. Rei has known for a few months now that something was wrong with his juice intake, but he’d hoped that it wasn’t obvious, and it hasn’t really been to the kids. But Kaoru? Of course he’d figure out, it was dumb to even entertain the idea that the man he lives with and sleeps next to wouldn’t notice something was wrong. He laid his head sideways on the pillow, still looking out into the hallway. He was still tired.
He even tried changing brands, thinking maybe his default brand was the problem, but after trying all the ones available on the market, something else that Kaoru for sure would’ve noticed, he also began to come to the same conclusion.
This vampire does need blood to survive.
He began questioning family members after the first month, especially those he knew took alternatives for blood. But he didn’t receive answers he liked.
“Yeah, it stopped being viable after I turned 25, like its good when I’m in a pinch but I don’t rely on it anymore”
“I stopped relying solely on tomato juice when puberty hit, it’s still my primary source but I do need actual blood every other month to be at top shape.”
“There’s no alternative that’ll provide you accurately with the amount of iron our bodies need. As an idol, I’m surprised you’ve made it this long before realizing the faults in your juice alternative.”
Rei’s brought out of his head by the sound of a loud “clink” on the bedside table and he looks up to spot Kaoru, placing a full glass of tomato juice on the bedside table.
“Decided to show your face after all?” Kaoru teased, ruffling Rei’s bed head.
“You just said the juice isn’t working.” Rei grumbled, eyeing the damned glass. He hates this brand, he’s learned. Too sugary for his tastes.
“Well, you have a whole thing still and you’re fighting this theory so it's the best I can do.” He shrugged and walked out again.
Rei watched him with a scowl. “Come back here.”
Kaoru turned his head back pensively. “Hmmm? Does his wicked highness finally see fit to have my offering?” He turned around with a grin and a bow.
“What’s wrong with me just wanting to have you near?” He didn’t let up on his scowl. “Senior year you would be appalled by this behavior.”
“Hmmm? Why are you so caught up with how senior year me would feel? This is nothing! What senior year me would be devastated by is the amount of time we spend making out. Or how much sex we’ve had.” Kaoru smiled as he walked back into the bedroom. “Seriously Rei-kun! My one time of being pissed off at you for biting me has been waaaaay overshadowed by how many times you have given me head in the last, what? Four years? Since that whole ordeal.”
Rei buried his face again by the end of Kaoru’s ramble, burning red ears all that’s visible of his immodesty. He was right, technically speaking. High school Kaoru is at this point a different person than his current partner, that Kaoru would faint if he even knew they lived together.
“Honestly, Rei-kun?” Kaoru was next to his ear suddenly, causing Rei to jump and look over to catch the smug grin spreading across his tan skin. “I think it’d be suuuper hot if you took my blood during sex.”
“Gross, did talking about my mouth get you horny?” Rei pushed Kaoru’s face away and reburied his own.
“Hmmm? You act like you’ve never thought about it~.” He can hear the grin he still has. Hands grasp at his shoulders and begin to rub. “Like you don’t linger when giving me hickeys, or when you can’t help yourself and still bite slightly too hard.” He pressed harder into the knot Rei had there, the vampire letting out a moan.
“You almost sound like you want me to feed on you for your pleasure more than my well being.” He grumbled into his pillow.
“I can bring up non-sexual examples too~” Another tight push against Rei’s shoulder has the vampire letting out a small whimper. “Whenever we cuddle, you always nuzzle into my neck at least once. In fact, it’s more rare that you don’t immediately bury your face into my neck. I’m always thinking, wow, I feel super vulnerable with how close his mouth is to my neck!”
Rei whined into his pillow, half in embarrassment, half in pleasure from the massage. He turned his head so he wasn’t talking into it anymore. “Really? Always?”
Kaoru laughed. “So you don’t even do it on purpose?”
“No!”
“When I wear my turtlenecks, sometimes I catch you staring at my neck when I move in a way that exposes more skin.”
“Kaoru-kun, this is embarrassing me. I’m going to cry. Do you want me to cry?” He pouted, holding back a whine when Kaoru removed his hands from him. “Why do you hate me? What did I ever do to you?”
“Not drink my blood.” The pillow Rei had been attached to this whole time quickly left his hands and collided with Kaoru’s face.
-----------------------------
It was a bad day from the minute Rei woke up, but they had an important media interview today so he really pushed himself to get out of bed and face the day.
Honestly? It’s been a bad week for the vampire. With no real reason for his energy to be completely depleted, he understood what it meant. He really didn’t want to admit it though, he really didn’t want to have to rely on blood.
“Hey, Rei-kun.” Kaoru nudged at him on the couch, gaining only a groan from the vampire. “I know you’re tired, let’s try and get some food in you before we have to go.” Rei opened his eyes at that, already concerned.
“What time is it?”
“Really? It’s only been 20 minutes since you woke up.”
“…Really?” He almost wanted to cry at that, it’s felt like an hour.
Kaoru frowned at him. “Seriously…I know it’s an off day for you but even that’s a little concerning. Come on, let’s go eat.”
They stopped at a diner nearby that Kaoru likes, ordering something small each with some coffee. Coffee doesn’t usually work on Rei unless he’s really lucky, but it’s the thought that counts here.
“Oi-hey! No falling asleep.” Kaoru tapped on Rei’s plate with his fork to make noise, startling Rei from what he supposed was dozing. “Finish eating, maybe that’ll keep you awake.”
He stared down at his half-eaten omelette with a frown, picking up his fork again. Every little bit helps.
“We’re here, wake up.” Kaoru nudges Rei awake again. The cab had come to a stop and Kaoru was in the middle of paying her. Rei seemed to be only capable of frowning today, mainly at himself. Kaoru glanced to him, offering a smile as he started to push Rei out the door.
“This is the fourth time in the last two hours he’s fallen asleep.” Kaoru sighed. “I know I shouldn’t complain, it’s out of his control, but it’s really frustrating today.” Rei blinked his eyes open, watching Kaoru and Koga talk in the waiting room outside of the recording studio.
“Maybe once he gets talking he’ll stay awake.” Adonis shrugged beside Rei on the couch. “Oh, good morning Sakuma-san.” He smiled at him, and Rei couldn’t help but return the smile.
Kaoru sighed again, much more audibly than before. He dug into his bag and pulled out a juicebox, tossing it to Rei. “Please, this is just an hour and a half, Rei-kun.”
Rei fumbled to catch the juicebox, but he did nonetheless, and he carefully detached the straw and stuck it into the top. “I’m sorry, you know I’m not usually this bad…” He sipped slowly on the box.
“The weather’s kinda whack right now, more than usual, s’probably what’s affecting you.” Koga crossed his arms. “Plus the thing you were complainin’ about the other day with your juice.” He gestured at him with his chin.
“Yeah…” Rei deflated a bit into the couch, feeling everyone’s eyes on him.
“What’s wrong with your juice?” Adonis tilted his head.
“You know how he uses it in place of blood?” Kaoru kept his eyes on Rei, catching Adonis’s nod in the corner on his eye. “Well the past couple of months, it hasn’t been doing the job.”
“Huh? What do you mean past couple of months?” Koga eyed Rei.
“He’s been drinking twice the amount he usually does, he’s been drinking different brands, and he’s still slow as if he’s low on energy.” Rei tried to shrink down as much as he could in the couch, trying to avoid eye contact. It’s embarrassing. Kaoru tutted. “You are so annoying sometimes.”
“Then…are you saying he needs blood?” Adonis tilted his head.
“Exactly. And he’s refusing to take any.”
Koga clicked his tongue, then finally brought his eyes off Rei to look at Kaoru again. “We can’t really force him.”
Kaoru kept his eyes on his partner however. “…No, I suppose not.”
“UNDEAD?” A woman’s voice called out, breaking the tension. “We’re ready to get you guys set up.”
-----------------------------
Rare, these days, for Rei to turn down showering with Kaoru when they got home, and with how his health has been, he really should’ve taken the opportunity to share the shower with him. But he wanted time alone to think.
He’d really been trying to ignore it, not even out of pride really. He’s grown accustomed to admitting when he needs help. He has friends willing to accommodate his needs and he couldn’t be more grateful for them because of it.
It’s not pride, it’s…arrogance. That’s it. The refusal to admit that he’s wrong. It’s been several months now, at this point the tomato juice hasn’t been helping longer than it has this year. It’s at least worth a try now to take blood, no matter how little he actually wants to do it.
It partly has to do with Kaoru’s refusal that Easter, the fear of hurting him always at the back of his mind, but a lot does have to do with how he just doesn’t want to drink blood. He’s trying so hard to be human, he’s doing everything he can to be human. Drinking blood is not a human activity!
And he hates the taste of it!!! That’s why he settled with tomato juice, because it actually tastes good!!! Why should he have to do something he can’t even-
“Your turn.” Kaoru walked past Rei brooding on the couch and ruffled his hair, drawing him out of his thoughts for the moment. He looked up, lifting his head out of his hands, just when had he slouched over? He probably looked just as crazed as he felt. “Don’t think too hard in there, you might overheat.” Kaoru smiled.
Rei huffed a laugh, relaxing his shoulders a bit. “Yeah, of course.” He stood up with a few joint cracks and began to walk up the bathroom-
“I’m serious though. Try to sit while you’re in there, and leave the door unlocked, okay?” Kaoru dropped his smile. Ah, alright.
“Mm, of course.”
The shower was nice, he supposed, though it would be quicker to stand, sitting at least gave him time to think again. He really could just ask. It doesn’t need to have some special occasion. Though it’s kind of embarrassing at this point to admit defeat, after being urged to do this from family and friends for so long now. And again, sometimes just the smell of blood was enough to upset his stomach, thinking about the smell is even-
A trail of blood running down the drain with the water appears and it startles him, jumping back a bit to try and locate where the bleeding is coming from, knocking some bottles down in the process. He lifted a hand to his face and sighed as he drew it back. A nosebleed. Okay, sure, this might as well happen.
The bathroom door opened a crack. “You alright?” Right. The noise.
“Yea-” A cough, “Yeah I’m fine- Nosebleed.” He breathed in, head going light. “Could you come turn the water off, dear.” He lifted a hand to his head. A vampire who can’t even look at blood, how inane.
Kaoru opened the door further and walked in, opening the curtain on the side closer to the valve to shut it off. “Are you alright?” He asked again.
“A bit lightheaded is all, mind getting me some tissues?” He did his best to keep his head tilted downward until Kaoru pulled the curtain back, sitting on his knees, with a few tissues in hand. Instead of letting Rei take them from him, he instead reached in himself to block the nostril the blood was coming from.
“I told you not to think too hard.” Kaoru laughed, using his other hand to cradle Rei’s head. Rei leaned into his touch instinctively, doing his best to keep his head lowered. “It’s hot in here too, were you trying to instigate a nosebleed?”
Rei glowered at him, taking a deep breath in. It was a joke, he understands, and Kaoru simply chuckled at the stare. He pulled the tissue away momentarily to assess the bleed, then quickly repositioned it to a cleaner area to hold against the nostril again. Rei sighed, his health was never going to be easy, was it?
-----------------------------
Rei lie on his back on the bed, shirtless as he didn’t want to risk staining any shirts, fingers interlocked over his chest as he stared up at the ceiling, wad of tissue paper plugged up his nose to get the remaining blood taken care of. Kaoru entered the room after a few more minutes, bringing with him some tart slices that he had bought earlier that day.
“I got one for both of us~! Recovering from a shower nosebleed seems fitting time to eat it!” He smiled and sat on the edge of the bed. “Usually eating in bed is against our rules but what’s the harm in bending this once?” He set the plate down on his lap and patted the spot next to him. “Come, sit.”
“…I…” Rei squinted with tightly knit brows, not looking away from the ceiling.
“Hm?” Kaoru was already picking up his slice to eat.
Rei stayed silent a moment before finally shifting his gaze to Kaoru. It softened when he saw how content he was with the bite he’d taken, a small smile stretching across the blond’s lips that he probably didn’t even notice he had. He opened his mouth again, then closed it when nothing came out and turned back to the ceiling.
Kaoru’s head tilted. “Babe, I’m not a mind reader, and if I was, your’s would be impossible anyways.”
“…” Rei turned his head completely away, embarrassed just a little. “I need blood.” It was quiet, small, not meant to leave this one piece of furniture. He refused to look in Kaoru’s direction. He could already feel his gaze on him and he wasn’t really keen on the teasing that would follow.
But there wasn’t a verbal response, he heard some movement, likely Kaoru setting the plate down, then felt the bed move as slowly his light was obstructed. Kaoru’s hand landed next to his head and he frowned, still refusing to look up at him.
“You open yourself up to me and yet refuse to look at me? You wound me, Rei-kun.” Kaoru sighed. Using the hand on the opposite side of Rei’s face, he lifted Rei’s chin to face him upwards, smiling a little at the blush covering his cheeks, then frowned when Rei still focused his gaze on the wall. With a huff, he pulled his waist up further onto the bed and placed his legs on either side of the vampire, sitting down onto his stomach. “What’s a guy got to do to get even a glance, huh?” He scowled as he watched Rei’s gaze shift not towards him, but upwards to further avoid looking at Kaoru.
Rei’s hands fidget on his chest, unlocking themselves to tap idly without thought. Kaoru clicked his tongue watching them, evidence that Rei isn’t entirely spaced out from the moment. In one swift motion, they’re taken from their place on his chest and pinned above his head, taking Rei off guard enough to finally look back at him with wide eyes.
“There we go~ All I had to do was surprise you!” Kaoru grinned, releasing his grip on Rei’s hands to lean in and place a kiss on his lips. “I don’t like being ignored, you know~” To punctuate, he pulled the tissue out of Rei’s nose, only taking a moment to examine how fresh the blood on it was before tossing it to the floor.
Rei watched the tissue fall to the floor with a frown. “Gross.” He couldn’t help but laugh, though, when Kaoru tried to go in for another kiss. “Hold on, hold on.” He placed a hand in front of his face to catch Kaoru’s, laughing when Kaoru still tried to push through. “Down boy!” He jokingly raised his voice.
Kaoru grinned. “Down?” The glint in his eye was mischievous. Rei sighed as Kaoru took the hand placed against his face and laced his fingers with it. “Easy command~” He followed through and started to kiss down Rei’s neck, hovering when Rei’s laugh bubbled out.
“You’re going to agitate my nosebleed, then I’m going to get blood all over the bed.” He squeezed Kaoru’s hand, using his other to slide into his blond hair.
“Oh you’ll be fine.” Kaoru hummed as he trailed further down. “We have tissues in here if it comes back.” He paused at Rei’s collarbone, glancing up at him. “It doesn’t help when you’re encouraging me, either.” He smiled, free hand aimlessly wandering Rei’s chest. Rei grinned down at him, then gripped his hair and pulled back with enough force to pull him away. “Ah!” Kaoru laughed. “Hey!”
“As much as I’d like to continue,” Rei let go of his hair to dramatically drape his arm across his forehead and closed his eyes, “I am oh-so tired from losing blood-”
“Then take some of mine.” Kaoru narrowed his eyes playfully.
Rei opened his eyes to peek down to him again. “Aside from the tart, have you eaten recently?”
Kaoru blinked, then looked up in thought. “Uhh…”
Rei clicked his tongue with a smile. “No blood drinking tonight then, dear.” He lifted his arm off his head to cup Kaoru’s cheek. “Thank you for the offer, though.”
“Come on, we’re in bed, it’s not like I’m going to go on stage right after.” Kaoru pouted.
“No, you’re still wanting to fool around though, which is still quite a rigorous activity, don’t you think?” Rei’s thumb brushed against Kaoru’s lips, which only prompted the blond to open them and take the digit into his mouth. “Kaoru-kun.”
“We can always stop if it gets too much~?” Kaoru leaned down again to be just in front of Rei’s lips. “I can be the one resting?” He lowered his voice as he lowered himself to brush lips.
Rei ran over the options in his head, subconsciously wetting his lips. Their hands let go of each other, Rei’s landing on Kaoru’s thigh and Kaoru’s coming to Rei’s face to tip him far enough to close the distance.
He still wasn’t keen on the idea of drinking blood, thinking about the taste is almost enough to make him pull away from the warmth of Kaoru’s mouth in disgust. He could feasibly take only a little bit, work himself up slowly to drinking more over time. He slowly pushed himself to sit up, Kaoru taking the hint to help ease the transfer of positions. They parted from each other temporarily to allow Kaoru to lie down and Rei to climb on top of him, then came back to each other as quickly as possible. Rei shuffled his hips further down on Kaoru so he could trail down his neck with ease.
Were they not idols, in some other universe, Rei would love to mark Kaoru up as much as possible, he hesitated in one spot on his neck and debated if it was too high up to cover with a turtleneck before deciding it was. He moved lower before taking the skin in his lips. Not biting, not here. A sigh leaves Kaoru’s mouth as Rei’s hand travels up underneath his shirt. Makeup would definitely need to be used to cover this one, but it won’t be as noticeable.
“A bit high up, don’t you think?” Kaoru carded his fingers through Rei’s hair.
Rei took a moment longer before pulling away, using both hands now to pull Kaoru’s shirt up, which Kaoru obliged and lifted his arms to remove the article. “I just wanted to do that one.” Once the shirt was removed, he moved back to where he was and traveled further, pausing once again in a spot, but this time to try and gauge where to bite. “I’ll only take a little…I’m not exactly…fond of the taste.” He hovered around a general area around Kaoru’s neck and collarbone.
“Alright, fair enough.”
“Don’t be offended if I don’t like it.”
“You’re still human, I think it’s rather normal to dislike the taste of blood.”
The reassurance was nice, it was almost the push that Rei needed to dive in. He checked the pulse in one spot and took a deep breath in before pressing his lips to the spot, then lightly placed his fangs against it. It’s not like he hasn’t bitten Kaoru before, or drawn his blood from a bite either, but those were different. Those were just bites to bite, this is fairly common practice in any couple. This bite was different, this is…
Kaoru’s fingers slowly brushed through Rei’s hair and it almost made Rei laugh. Why is the guy getting blood taken from him in such a monstrous way more relaxed about this than the one taking the blood?
No, he can’t be anxious about this when he’s already poised to strike. With another deep breath taken through his nose, he bites down, incisors piercing through Kaoru’s unblemished skin. Kaoru lets out a grunt at the bite, fingers gripping somewhat tighter into Rei’s hair. It takes everything in Rei to stay biting and let the blood into his mouth.
It wasn’t as bad as he had been dreading, not necessarily good either, but he isn’t immediately repelled by the taste and texture. It tasted like blood, that’s for sure, but perhaps it’s the thought that it’s Kaoru’s blood that has Rei thinking that it has something unique to it, a sweetness that Koga and Adonis’s blood didn’t have. The indifference didn't last for much longer, however, as the texture on his tongue began to become too much for him to handle and he released Kaoru, licking the puncture wounds as he had been taught in the past.
He pulled away completely to look Kaoru in the eyes once he was sure the blood wouldn’t flow too much more. Kaoru looked at him with a smile, eyes only slightly distant. “Are you alright?” Rei broke the silence first.
“I am, I think if you had gone any longer I would’ve had a problem, though.” He chuckled. “Are you alright?”
Rei nodded, returning Kaoru’s smile. “I am…I’m sorry, I should’ve stopped sooner, I spaced out.”
“I thought you didn’t like the taste?” Kaoru clasped his hands together to rest on his chest, mirroring Rei’s earlier pose.
“I…didn’t really. But it tasted different than I thought it would.” Rei huffed, averting his gaze. “I was distracted by that thought for a moment longer than I should’ve been.”
Kaoru chuckled. “Perhaps the necessity of it is what changed your thought process?”
“Perhaps.”
“Rei-kun.” He unlaced his fingers and slid his hands to Rei’s thighs, Rei’s gaze coming back to him. Kaoru’s smile widened, eyes squinting. “Ready to resume where we were?”
Rei blinked, then grinned back at him. “Wasting no time at all, are you?”
Kaoru’s hands traveled up Rei’s thighs to his hips. “What can I say? You’re like, glowing right now, and it’s kinda hot.”
Rei chuckled, then leaned back down to kiss him.
Kaoru doesn’t tell him that he still has blood on his chin, and when Rei’s nosebleed does come back a few minutes later, it covers up the prior blood when it leaks onto Kaoru’s face mid-kiss, making Kaoru laugh. They absolutely have to clean the sheets after this.
-----------------------------
It’s immediately apparent the next day at practice that Rei was feeling better. He was more energetic, more aware, more talkative. Koga and Adonis didn’t comment on it until Kaoru entered the practice room late after leaving his badly scheduled photoshoot and changed to a t-shirt, revealing just enough of his neck that the bite marks are visible.
Koga almost growled at him. “Why do you need to wear a collar that loose?”
He grinned. “It’s easier to practice choreography in loose clothing, isn’t it? Besides, don’t I usually wear shirts like this to practice?” He started his warm up stretches, eyeing Koga.
“So you let Sakuma-san take your blood?” Adonis chimed in to try to break up the tension.
“Mhm~ Though it’s more like he let himself take my blood.” He switched to a new stretch as he talked.
“That’s good.” Adonis smiled and looked over to Rei. “You seem a lot better.”
Rei returned the smile and began to start talking when Koga cut him off.
“Should Hakaze-san even be at practice today then?” He said it almost accusatory, pointing with his thumb over to him.
“He didn’t take a lot.”
“Mm, as Kaoru-kun says, I only took a small amount to ease myself into drinking blood. As you know, I don’t like the taste.” Rei nodded. “But yes, even that small amount did make me feel much better than I have in a while.”
“What made you decide to do it finally?” Adonis had shifted onto the floor to help Kaoru with his last stretches.
Rei hummed, closing his eyes in thought. “I am tired of feeling so weak. Kaoru-kun had me sit in the shower last night because he was worried I’d faint standing up and hurt myself. Then when I was in there, I got a nosebleed that usually wouldn’t be a problem, but since I’ve been this way, it nearly knocked me out.” He opened his eyes. “I need to do what is best for my body, I suppose.”
Adonis nodded. “I understand, I’m glad you feel better then, even if it requires doing something you don’t like. It’s like taking a medication with a bad taste.”
“Exactly, Adonis-kun.” Rei smiled.
Kaoru stood up with one last stretch. “And with Rei-kun feeling better, we should get on our practice, hm?”
“Agh, yeah we need to catch you up.” Koga groaned. “Alright. We’re moving on then.”
-----------------------------
As spring began rolling in, it became harder for Kaoru to cover up the bite marks on his neck, and they weren’t exactly keen on flaunting their relationship so publicly since they’re idols, so problem solving began. Because of Rei’s vampirism, he was able wean himself off of taking from Kaoru as often as he was—which was only every other week, changing it to every three weeks—and was able to play off his new fatigue as a sun problem, which wasn’t entirely a lie either. Supplementing it with tomato juice offered some extra relief, even if it wasn’t as good as blood.
Thankfully, there are other places to get the best blood flow that also weren’t dangerous for Kaoru. In a pinch, Rei could go for the inner elbow as if he was a doctor, though it’s not easy to bite there. If he’s well aware of what clothing Kaoru will be wearing for the next week and a half, Rei can go for practically any spot that’s likely to be mostly covered.
But the best area that is a catch all for privacy and decency, they found, was the thigh, which unless for some reason Kaoru wanted to wear more revealing swimwear, was completely hidden. Unfortunately, this required proper planning ahead, as it wasn’t something they could do last minute in a public place by sneaking away for a few moments.
“I suppose it was only a matter of time before we had to start planning our sex lives out.” Kaoru laughed as Rei dragged him to the bedroom.
Rei snorted in response. “It doesn’t have to end with sex every time, dear. We watched a movie after the last time.” He lightly pushed Kaoru to sit on the bed. “Besides, we’re not completely scheduling that out, this would be an outlier.” He lowered himself to his knees and scooted towards Kaoru’s legs.
“I suppose you’re right.” Kaoru grinned down as Rei unbuttons his pants. Rei looked up at him as he slid the jeans down. “You’re so pretty.”
Rei hummed, slipping his fingers into Kaoru’s waistband. “I’m beginning to think all this is just a means for you to get off instead of a means of me getting energy.” He slid his underwear down, revealing both thighs, one of which was still very bruised from the last feed. He heard Kaoru laugh above him.
With his own teasing remark and the bruised leg in sight, Rei hesitated as he really took in the severity of the situation again. He rested his hands on the inside of Kaoru’s thighs as he sat back on the balls of his feet with a frown. A minute passed and then there’s a hand on his chin, tilting his head to eye level. He looked past Kaoru, unable to meet his eyes all of a sudden.
“This is for you, babe.” Kaoru moved his head to try and catch Rei’s gaze. “I’m playing it up a bit, I’m sorry if it came out serious.” He smiled.
Rei still avoided looking him in the eye, staring at his forehead instead, then looked back down to his bruised leg. “Perhaps we should bump the frequency down to once a month…” He mumbled. “Or drop it entirely for the summer…”
Kaoru frowned. “It’s your life, if that’s what you want to do, we can. I’m just concerned about your energy levels if we were to drop this entirely, you’ve been much more active since we started doing this.”
He couldn’t fight the claim, this is the most awake he’s been since before the war, it’s kind of nice, all things considered. The bruises are turning green as they get closer to healing. “I don’t know.” It was hard for him to admit, he’s so accustomed to having to know everything.
Kaoru watched him for a moment, then sighed, sitting up. “Come here.” He held his arms open. “Let’s rest today, then. We have no other responsibilities until tomorrow afternoon.” Rei stood up, wrapped his arms around Kaoru, and immediately shifted all of his weight on him, causing them both to fall back on the bed. “Whoa!” He laughed, patting Rei’s back. “Hold on hold on my pants are still down-“
“Just kick them off.” Rei mumbled into the crook of Kaoru’s neck.
“Not when you still have pants on! The sensory problems I’ll have are chilling to think of!”
“Then take mine off.”
Kaoru laughed. “Fine!”
-----------------------------
As the weather cooled down again, Rei permitted himself to go back to two feedings a month, as Kaoru had begun to wear higher collars again. There was something about feeding from his neck that Rei didn’t have problems with like he had with the legs. Perhaps it was the cliche of it, or the intimacy, or the way it looks when he’s done.
It was frustrating to him how much he clearly needed the blood, life could never be simple for him. He pulled away from Kaoru with hesitation, watching the blood trickle down his collarbone for a moment. Kaoru’s hand in his hair ran through his curls lightly. It was the intimacy, he decided, that drew him more to the neck than anywhere else.
“Still find blood gross?” Kaoru whispered, not so much for privacy as they sat alone in the meeting room, waiting for their juniors, but more so from the lack of energy after having given it to Rei.
Rei licked at the wound, peppering light kisses around it. “A bit.” He murmured back.
“You’re not fooling me, you know. Perhaps you just like my blood~ I’m your exception now~.” With his other arm available now, he pat Rei’s back.
Rei chuckled and sat back, looking down at Kaoru’s face. “I didn’t take too much, did I?” He brushed some of Kaoru’s hair out of his face.
“I didn’t eat necessarily well today is all, no worries.” He let his arms fall to Rei’s thighs.
Rei idly fixed Kaoru’s collar to cover the bite, mainly to make sure it’s coverable. “And you let me drink from you? Bad Kaoru-kun.”
Kaoru opened his mouth to speak when the meeting room door opened, Rei quickly threw himself down next to Kaoru on the off chance it wasn't Koga and Adonis coming in. Koga paused at the door at the sound of Rei hitting the couch quite heavily.
“Should I be concerned?” He eyed them, watching Rei sigh.
“No, I was just being safe.” Rei smiled.
“You have blood on your chin, it wouldn’t have worked.” Koga sighed as he walked in, followed by Adonis, whose eyes widened at the sight. Rei bristled and lifted his sleeve to wipe at it, lightly slapping Kaoru’s arm.
“I wanted to see how far into the meeting we’d get before you noticed.” Kaoru grinned. “Thought it’d be funny.”
Adonis sat down across from them. “I fear it wouldn’t have lasted very long.”
Koga closed the door before sitting beside Adonis. “You two are disgusting.”
“You say that yet you haven’t complained about Rei not being active recently, so you have to pick~” Kaoru shot him a very cheeky grin.
“What is this, a game? I have 0 control over you freaks.” Koga scoffed. “You know, when you stopped flirting with girls I was glad because it made you less annoying, then you immediately began flirting with Sakuma-san-“ He squinted. “And you just dropped the honorific! Shameless!”
Kaoru cackled at his response, throwing his head back as his chest shook for a moment.
“Oh my, you did drop the honorific.” Rei smiled, a hand coming up to his face to try and hide his smile.
“Both of you! Disgusting!”
Adonis smiled, letting out a small chuckle before speaking. “As fun as this interaction is, we do need to discuss funding.”
Rei beamed. “Yes yes.” He clapped his hands twice. “Serious mode everyone!”
-----------------------------
Adonis and Kaoru left the booth to go to the bathroom while they waited for their food to arrive, leaving Koga and Rei sitting across from each other. Rei hummed a song he had been fine-tuning for the last week while watching the direction of the bathroom. He faded out his humming as he glanced to Koga, feeling the other’s gaze piercing through him. “What’s on your mind, Koga-kun?”
Koga bristled for a second before sighing softly. “Are you happy? With drinking blood?” He frowned. crossing his arms.
Rei blinked, turning so he could look properly at his friend. “What do you mean?”
He slanted his lips as he thought of an answer. “You hate blood. Is it worth the energy?”
Rei thought for a moment, humming softly as he did. “I wonder the same thing, sometimes.” Is what he comes up with. “It’s different, having all this energy again.”
Koga huffed. “I don’t really think that answers the question.”
Rei closed his eyes, picturing the image of blood running down Kaoru’s neck. A year ago it would’ve made him queasy to think about drinking it, but now he felt indifferent towards it. “I guess I just don’t have an answer. It’s complicated.”
Koga was quiet, glancing to the bathroom’s direction again. “If the two of you weren’t dating, would you still do it?”
That was something that hadn’t really occurred to him. Would he? He can’t even imagine another reality where he was in this situation and he wasn’t in a loving relationship with Kaoru. He thought then about the possibility of it being Keito, or Wataru, maybe even Shu or Kanata. In each scenario, he could see it happening so long as they loved each other. “Hm…” But then again, would Keito be willing? The other oddballs would be different for sure, each one of them would have a different relationship to the act of blood drinking that just aren’t the same. “No. I think I’m only okay with it because of our relationship.”
Koga hummed. “Okay.”
“Any other questions?” Rei watched him as Koga tapped his fingers against his opposite arm. “You’re still curious, I can tell.”
“…Hakaze-san is fine with it?”
Rei laughed. “He was begging me to drink his blood, actually.”
Koga’s lips twitched almost into a smile before he caught himself. “Okay. That’s all I wanted to know.”
Rei opened his mouth to respond, only to close it as Adonis sat back down next to Koga and Kaoru next to him.
“Still no food?” Kaoru sighed. “I’m sooo hungry.”
“You went to piss, there’s no way the food would’ve come out in such a short amount of time.” Koga barked, uncrossing his arms.
“A man can hope! You’re hungry too, right, Adonis-kun?” Kaoru looked to Adonis pleadingly.
Adonis blinked, then raised his hands in defiance. “I am, but he’s right, we weren’t gone long enough.”
Rei smiled, watching the three of them bicker. It was strange to think about how distant the four of them were during school, he couldn’t imagine a world where they went their separate ways after graduation. The possibility of that was so real at one point, but now he’s sure only death would separate them, both as a unit and as friends, and these days, Rei didn’t feel that impending doom as hard as he once did.
“Rei, I can feel you thinking.” Kaoru nudged him out of thoughts. “Anything of note?” He smiled.
Rei hesitated to answer, then shook his head. “Just having my regular old man musings~ Pay me no mind, Kaoru.” Even though he had practically been waiting to drop the honorific since graduation, it still felt strange coming out of his mouth.
“Hmmm, I’ll have to pick your mind later then~” Kaoru glanced at the others, grinning when Koga made a disgusted face at them. He opened his mouth to say something more before the waiter finally came with their food. “Oh sweet!”
Rei kept his eyes on Kaoru, only glancing up at the waiter to give him a smile as his food was handed over.
Yeah, there’s no one else he would ever consider relying on for this. The only reality he cares about is this one.
“Are you not hungry, Sakuma-san?” Adonis didn’t necessarily sound concerned though, he surely understood Rei’s hesitance. He looked over to Adonis, then shook his head.
“My apologies, I was still caught up in my thoughts.” He put his hands together, said his thanks, and picked up his chopsticks, catching Koga shake his head at him out of the corner of his eye.
No other reality would be better than this one.
