if u not familiar with this au basicaly:  grian is avatar of slaughter so he feeds his parton by killing, while scar is patron of death so he feeds it by dieing(then he comes back). So grain experiencing hunger that comes with being a avatar, is offered by Scar to kill him.

Ideas behind the pice: 

Basically, i wanted to show how Grian is hesitant to kill Scar both him being his friend and second they both know one-day Scar won't come back from the death he encountered. He can't help the hunger so he does it anyway but you can tell he is unwilling to do so by how his hand is bearly holding on to scar, in contrast to Scar being full for it so his grasp is firm, as well as he tries to comfort Grian through this act, that why his hand rest on his cheek and why they are almost in hugging position. Im very happy with the pose i came up with so wanted to gibe litter behind the scene that came with me drawing it ^^ 

The music sheet in the background is a nod to slaughter being associated with music. The soung called Allies or Enemies by Crave wives that i looove and fits life series desert duo sooo much. 

Edit: Also forgot about o mention if you zoom on Grian hads you can see the physical corupcion from Slaughter goes whith his veins to indicate its in his blood, poetically given how much of other ppl blood he spils

and for the tips! you've probably heard of vanishing points and horizon lines a bunch of times so i'll try to just give a quick run down of how i understand them + their uses

[2024 edit: just wanted to clarify that this third pic isn’t like a definite rule (none of these are tbf)- the horizon line can be placed at the top and still be close to the ground if you draw the grid right, same goes vice versa!]

tbh once you get the idea of how they work it gets easier to figure out where the points should be. it might help to think that the subject is what determines where the points are instead of the other way round if that makes sense? i learned a lot just by looking at storyboards for fun bc they're everywhere in them jhfkdg

also these grids aren't restricted to being only for the walls or the floor of a room- you can rotate it, put them anywhere you think you might need clarification on where the space around them is etc. just use as many as you need for whatever you need

having multiple grids (like ^ where its above and below the character) especially close together narrows the focus to what's in the middle of them as well!

another way to do this is to think of the subjects being in a box and looking at them from an angle-

and if you want you can break them down to simpler 3D or 2D shapes to see which parts have to get smaller

i hope this was clear enough! it's a bit hard to explain but once i learned not to be too hung up on accuracy (ofc to an appropriate degree) and freehanded the grids it makes it a lot more fun to play around with :)

it’s Stupid Hours (aka way too early in the morning) and after 0.2 seconds of searching on YouTube ive come to the conclusion that there is no qsmp John Mulaney “The One Thing” animatic yet and ive gotta say guys. im disappointed.(/lh) im so used to every fandom having at least one The One Thing animatic that realizing there isn’t one for qsmp is bonkers to me. i’ve watched so many of these over the years that if you played The One Thing audio, i could probably recite it in time w the audio (i won’t say from memory bc my memory is shit.)

anyway here’s what i would personally do for a The One Thing animatic if i could draw. remember that this is gonna be skewed to the POVs im more familiar with so im sorry if your cubito doesn’t make it into the role you’d expect. i tried to include as many people as possible.

Edit: "Back in high school..." - not really necessary, but i imagine this story/"AU" taking place during the egg disappearance, which would explain the overly chaotic behavior of the islanders. not that they ever need a reason to be chaotic.

Narrator - Charlie. he’s not on the server as often but bc of that he would make a good “outside” pov narrator. also he’s just a got a really quick-with-it type of humor, cracking jokes and puns and doing wordplay/inprov’d songs at the drop of a hat, and he also loves telling stories.

Mr. Macnimara - Cucurucho. ��And Mr. Macnimara was an asshole.” need i say more?

Jake Macnimara - Jaiden. beloved bird of the Federation, though that absolutely would not stop her from throwing a wild party for her friends in their offices if she could. Edit: also Quackity would make a really good option here. Cringefail man that the Federation likes to toy with, we love to see it. Also with his shit luck it makes sense that a party that he decides to host at the Fed offices (a bad idea in the first place tbf) would blow up in his face so hard.

(Bonus: Mrs. Macnimara - the Duck. the Watcher. ElQuackity. idk who’s funnier just whoever your heart desires.)

“And we all got up individually and thought: okay, let’s go over there, and destroy the place.” - split screen of Cellbit, Baghera, Maxo, and Bad. there could be more, like Mike, Etoiles, Phil, Tubbo, really anyone who hates the Federation and/or has an affinity for chaos. Foolish would be a really fucking funny option for this one because yeah he works for the Feds but He Absolutely Would. all of the characters would get up calmly, and on the word “destroy” flip to a Chaos Mode Engaged expression (Cellbit with a grin and bloodstains on his cheeks, Baghera w flames behind her and in her eyes, etc etc)

“People were drinking like it was the civil war and a doctor was coming to saw our legs off” - Tubbo and his backpack of 3749588383 chainsaws. tazerraft could also be a good option considering Pac’s love of beheading people and Mike’s generally unhinged behavior. tbh just anyone/everyone in morning crew.

Person who breaks the pool table - Etoiles. someone would dare him to and he’d get so fucking excited he would absolutely HURL himself at that pool table. (dogboy behavior)

Person who takes a shit on the computer - … look ive been blankly staring at this one for like 7 fucking minutes. my heart says Aypierre but i could not tell you why. just. anyone who would absolutely do some rancid, unhinged shit when given the opportunity. Foolish again maybe. idk.

Edit: "Something something, police." - Jaiden, if she isn't Jake Macnimara. She would totally say it in a "LOL UH-OH" manner. If not, I could also imagine Missa, Bagi, or Fit nervously/bluntly trying to warn people while laughing.

“Fuck da police!” - “Fuck da Feds!”/“Fuck da Federation!” from what i can tell, Charlie doesn’t have an active animosity towards the Federation, but a lot of his friends do, and he will do anything, ANYTHING to commit to the bit. he will do ANYTHING for the funnies, and if he thinks that shouting “Fuck da Feds!” at the top of his lungs is going to get a reaction out of people, he absolutely will.

Edit: "'I served my nickel, you come and take me!' confidence." - Mike. I have such a strong mental image of Mike drunkenly shouting this while Pac and Fit hold him up/hold him back. Fuga references my beloved. Also the fact that he was put in a Fed freezer for a while.

The Police - the Federation workers. obviously. bonus points for one unnamed guard/officer being impressed like “wooooow :0” and then widening the shot to reveal an unamused Agent 18 standing next to them, leaning into his walkie talkie saying, “Get the paddy wagon.”

“SCATTER!” - Phil. (if you know you know.) generally, people who don’t know Phil tend to think he’s pretty chill, so no one would expect him to do something like that. also when Charlie says “And my friend John—” it would cut to a ‘pause screen’ over the scene, Charlie coming on screen to clarify the “father” and “baby” parts by providing helpful pop-up images of family pictures with Chayanne, Tallulah, and Missa on screen. Resumes, presses play and the screen clears: “He grabbed a 40…”

Edit: "Until, two years later..." - again, not really necessary, but it could be something like, "Until, after Purgatory..."

Alex (guy who stole the photos) - Roier. HEAR ME OUT. Roier, similar to Phil, is just such an unassuming guy. he’s cheery and laughs a lot and cracks jokes, but deep down, he’s smart and he’s got a burning HATRED for the Federation. he’s not the kind of guy to start fights, but with everyone else causing chaos at the party, breaking shit in the offices/house, he would absolutely take the opportunity to steal Federation documents for his husband’s investigations. (or antique photos, if you want to keep with the high school setting/theme.) i mean he stole a fucking lamp from their offices once just because there was so much shit going on and he knew the Feds probably wouldn’t notice (iirc).

Edit: SOMETHING I FORGOT TO MENTION ABOUT ROIER. you could totally make the line “because it’s the one thing you can’t replace” a reflection of Bobby, who the Federation ‘killed’, so now he’s getting back at them. (i’ve put way too much thought into this.)

WIP Questionnare (tag game)

What was the first part of your wip that you created? ...the first chapter 😅 but tbf the very first scene has changed drastically since then! it was a bit of a 'main character wakes up' cliche so I decided like right after writing chapter 3 it would be changed after the first draft was done.

If your story was a TV show, what would the theme song/intro be? oo! Possibly Nothing Else Matters by Apocalyptica. Prob my fave one out of the story's playlist.

Who are your favorite characters you've made? Why? Probably the makoth characters, like Gunilde and Oddvar. and idk 🤷 ive had a soft spot for orcish characters lately, makoth included. Can't forget Karliah, too! She's been with me since middle school.

What other pieces of media do you think would share a fanbase for your story? oooh. i dont know. possibly game of thrones? or any gothic fantasy novel. I actually don't read that much victorian fantasy, so I don't know many. However, Snow White and the Huntsman did influence me a lot, so if that movie has a fanbase I suppose it counts.

What has been your biggest struggle while writing? Creating the magic systems. It's like chemistry for me; my brain just can't work it out. the main magic system, which i have just called Spellwork, feels so underdeveloped, but the other magic system for the Makoth, Skvæla, is a little bit more fleshed out. At some point I have to sit down one day and work the whole Spellwork thing out before I lose my mind 🥲

Are there any animals in your story? Talk about them! There is! Maugr are native to Reyoarfell, and only used by the Makoth. Wolf-like beasts the size of polar bears, with thick fur and short legs to combat the cold climate of Reyoarfell. The makoth only use them for travel or to carry/pull heavy things, they are not suited for combat or racing. These animals are important to them, and are not allowed to be owned by anybody outside of the country.

How do your characters get around?(ex: trains, horses, cars, dragons, etc.) Mostly by horseback or carriage, as trains haven't been invented yet. But also, the first book is contained in one city so they don't need anything else to travel long distance. However! Portals to travel between countries do exist, but they're rare and expensive to use.

What part of your wip are you working on? I'm currently editing the early chapters, getting it ready to look for beta readers. Adding more scenery and sensory descriptions, changing a few things about the characters, trying to find a way to make the plot twists less obvious before they're revealed 😅

What aspects (tropes, maybe?) of your wip do you think will draw people in? Hmm. victorian fantasy, knight lady, eldritch being, vampiric lizard man, body horror, corruption arc, and monster hunting are the ones I can thing of off the top of my head 😅

What are your hopes for your wip? That there's people out there that would at least enjoy reading my novel, and love the characters as much as I do :)

hi, I'm sorry for my inactivity for the better part of the year. Fell into depression (still in one tbf), couldn't draw (still trying to get back my momentum) and picked up warframe a lot better.

the reason why I stopped posting art here is because I mostly draw my ocs now, so I moved to Twitter to do that. Now I don't post art on Twitter and post on bsky (pls follow me there I'm penebui.bsky.social). I will try to post more Fandom art of course here when I get back into the groove of drawing

Now for the part you all are concerned about, I am planning on translating the houseki no kuni vol 11 limited edition's poetry booklet WHEN it comes out and when I am able to receive clean scans. It'll be like the Party at The End translation since the previews showed the rocks as the background focal point. This one might be a bit harder for me because it's poetry... haruko ichikawa really knows how to make my life harder (can she mention the admirabilis seed btw. Still waiting)

Dragon Age Veilguard Review 5.2 in series

34.5 hours in. 32.5 hours playtime.

Obligatory disclaimer you can just drop to the cut if you've read it.

Something came to my attention. I need to make it crystal clear that I utterly love the diversity in DAV. It's fantastic. I'm also a heavily left leaning, non-binary, queer as fuck reviewer, editor, and author.

I'm on media blackout while I play this, so I'm only getting second-hand info on how awful it is right now in the DA Fandom. Please be safe and take care of yourselves. Arguing with incels and white supremacists is completely pointless. They sea lion worse than an actual sea lion. Your mental health is important.

Though, every single time the anti-queer brigade comes out for a new DA game, I sit there thinking 'have you bozos ever played any DA game, like, ever?' My guess is nope.

This is a long one.

So. I managed to play for a good portion of the day. I'm exceedingly grateful it held me.

Around about 27 hours? I felt immersed in the story, and this part of THEDAS. It shouldn't take 27 hours of playtime to suck me into a game. That in the writing world is what we call shitty pacing, poor editing,. and just... take it right back to the drawing board.

It could just be me. I'm notoriously hard to suck into stories because I was foolish enough to become an editor. But I've never had that problem with a DA game before.

I managed to finish the team. I like Davrin, Taash, and Emmrick. My favs so far in order are (yes, I'm cringing 🤣) Lucanis, Taash, Emmrick, and Davrin. With a close follow-up by Bellara.

I wonder if it's Lucanis's VA doing it? I am a bit of an accent slut and I have a definite voice kink. TBF they did change him a whole fucking lot from the Wigmaker version. Even if he does look like Dracula.

Getting misgendered in game sucks as much as it does in real life. So content warning on a person misgendering their kid and the person they're with (Rook).

But generally, the trans rep is handled in such a loving, beautiful manner, and I have to give AAA+ on that front. I feel seen in it. Seeing and helping Taash on their journey is healing, and just wonderful to see in a triple A game.

But lets talk about accents yes? WTAF? In every other DA game they stuck with regional accents for the different regions. Anyone from Antiva had anywhere from a light to a heavy Spanish accent. Anyone from Orlais was French. Tevinter in the personage of Dorian and even Neve had/have British accents. It wasn't ever really 100% but they at least tried. And I loved that.

This game doesn't feel like they tried at all.

In like... a lot of ways. How do you go from something so intricately and delicately intertwined as DAI to... this?

It's all just mid. Meh. I'm sorta into the story enough now that it doesn't feel like I'm slogging through blight to play it anymore. But if I couldn't finish the game? I don't think it would bother me for long. And that's something that would usually drive me bonkers.

I miss the collections. Everything from the mounts to the silly bottles of wine to collecting gifts for the right character. I miss that... I dunno... feeling of actual importance the Inquisition had?

Like. All the pieces line up in DAV. People dying. More people gonna die if someone doesn't step up. Intrigue. Betrayal. Nasty demons and darkspawn running around. But it's missing something. I'll figure out what it is eventually, but it's almost 3am so it probably won't be right now.

It's also a completely, horrendously, unbalanced game. On a normal level, (Adventurer in DAV), a regular gamer should be able to get through it without a whole lot of difficulty. A challenge, yes. I actually do like to be challenged a little in games. Maybe a death or two here and there but not in every damned fight. I wish they'd make the option to turn death off available for every level. I get stomped often enough that it's so annoying to sit through the reload. And reloading is where I've had the most problems.

At Keeper level (easy) it’s far too easy for me. At the next level up, (Adventurer) it's really pushing my skills in a very not fun way. There's like, no even scaling.

I miss the crafting! I miss going harvesting for stuff that I could build funny armour with. I had the Iron Bull in Dawnstone (pink) armour because I thought it was fun and his character probably wouldn't have cared. I always head canoned him saying in that don't fuck with me tone, "I like pink."

I miss being able to make special armour for my crew. It just... uuuugh. It's missing so much of the delicately intertwined details that made DAI such a good game. The bottles of wine and Warden notes in DAI gave you hints to Warden lives.

But at least I finally have armour that leaves elves feet bare. I really really wanted that.

Here's why.

I also have to admit that I do like how the wardrobe makes changing the way your gear looks does make it more streamlined, but I really really miss the crafting. I am trying to provide a fair review, after all.

I miss being able to make potions and bombs. And unless I've missed something, you just can't? You can't grow anything either. Growing stuff in Skyhold gardens was one of my favourite things about DAI. I was really looking forward to finding out which plants grew in the north of THEDAS and what stuff we could make with them. It never once occurred to me that they'd get rid of so much of the fun of DAI. It's like they've taken all the really intricate and interesting details that made DAI such an awesome game and... given us this. Milquetoast Veilguard. The mounts were gifts from different areas and peoples, so it tied that into the world.

The plants you grew had to be collected from various areas and used to make bombs and potions. I really miss that. Yes, you collect stuff to give to the Caretaker to upgrade or enchant your stuff, but 1. Why the fuck do I have to break so many barrels to get stuff? Who thought that was a good idea? Sure, a little, but there's barrels fucking everywhere. I'm a completionist player so tend to try to do everything. And 2. Collecting the different armour patterns, and the materials to make stuff like bombs, potions and explosives with was a large part of what I loved about DAI and DAO.

The Lighthouse has grown on me. But isn't it part of the Lore that living beings can't enter the fade? So uhhhhh... do we have a massive plothole there or did I miss something?

What in the world did they spend all that time doing if it wasn't going to be an intricate, detailed game?

They seem to have spent all that time on fucking with the looks of the characters and the graphics (to the game's detriment), messing around creating new demons because sure... we needed fortnite knockoff demons. Oh, and we mustn't forget the not-fucking-darkspawn. They've already contradicted themselves about them in game. They say at the beginning (I think it's Bellara?) That maybe these are old darkspawn rather than new. Then later in game they say Gilly has been making new darkspawn. Sure, Bellara could've just been wrong, but that wasn’t the feeling I got.

I do like the skill tree. That is much more streamlined.

I like the map. It doesn't feel like Dragon Age but it's a decently functional map. Reminds me more of DA2 than I'd like because that wasn't a good map.

I mostly like it at the Lighthouse. I like being able to see if companions have something to talk about so I don't spend time running around to each of them trying to see if they've got something new. That was an actual weakness in DAI I'm happy to see fixed.

The different ways you could decorate Skyhold were related to which areas and cultures visited a lot of the time. All those details they chose to not use for DAV were what made DAI such an epic game. To be fair, it might be similar for the Lighthouse. I haven't explored decoration options. I'll try to look at it soon.

And yes. Again. The best part of this game is the backgrounds, scenery, and environments. It's honestly the only thing holding this mess together. Rivain is fucking gorgeous. I love Treviso. Arlathan is amazing. Bit meh on Minrathous but despite living in one, I'm not really a big city sort of person. The puzzles aren't very challenging. And I miss the ocularium. That tied ancient elven and even Tevinter history into the world.

It very much feels like they've just decided to not care about the Lore and swept most of it under the carpet. A large reason I play DA games is the mental puzzles all that Lore gives me.

Also, foreshadowing should be subtle. Not the experience of being whacked over the head with a hammer.

And FWIW? Given standard medieval-esque health care? That wound Varric took would've absolutely been fatal. If not right away, then eventually. I'm really hoping they aren't going toward 'noble sacrifice' with him.

I'm not bothered by the different accents amongst the veil jumpers, or even the different races. Yes, it's letting shem hands touch ancient elven secrets, but it's also accurate to a lot of indigenous cultures. As long as you followed their ways, they welcomed new people (until things got really bad due to colonization and cruelty). The commonalities between First nations cultures and the Dalish are hard to miss, so that part works for me. (My ancestors were indigenous.)

I mean. Yeah. I'm Neurodivergent in a bunch of different ways. Change isn't always easy for me. But every single game I play has changes. I play a lot of games. I don't remember ever feeling so utterly betrayed by them as I do about DAV. If I had any expectations for this game, they were pretty low. And yet... even though the bar was on the ground, they've managed to disappoint me.

I'm still gonna keep playing. I don't hate it. But like... I'm not even sure if I can say I like it. Bits and pieces, yes, but as a whole? Nah. I love the Ziplines, those are fun. I like the ease of walking over logs and stuff now. That was a nightmare in DAI.

And I need the distraction right now, as long as I don't lose complete interest, I'll keep at it.

Oh. And the Owlbear in BG3 is absolutely cuter than Assan. Don't get me wrong. Assan IS cute. But... between the two? Owlbear wins.

Oh... and in all that time I played today? I didn't see Solas. Sooooo yeah. They completely sidelined his character. Makes me wonder if they made the decision to change the name from Dreadwolf to Veilguard and just nixed a lot of his content because of piss baby whiners who didn't like Solas. Which, if they did that? Is really shitty. Also, if he got sucked into the prison he'd had the gods in... where exactly are the other Evanuris! Stuck in there with their jailor?

And if the Caretaker is who I think it is? I'm gonna be pissed. (Felassan.) That is such a cop-out way of bringing him back. The Lore supported a bunch of different ways for him to return and if they went with that? UGH. I do like the boat between islands in the crossroads, that's fun.

I'm pretty sure I know who the Gloom Howler is. The bandages and the line 'they were never yours' gives it away if you've read the books. I figure she ran into the Architect. Did y'all notice how much her head looked like his?

I could be completely wrong. But enh. It doesn't really matter. I honestly can't see myself replaying this. If I even manage to finish it.

Was overthinking the choice of image I wanted to use to represent my dnd character. Because like,,,,,, hhhhhh. This is all in my head (not in the bad-spirally-depressive way but just in the overthinking-drawing-connections-being-overly-mindful) I know, I know, but like. I wanted my character's image to be a black woman but without eurocentric features (ex. straight/wavy hair) or exoticized clothing and it needed to still fit the race and class (and personality/background!). I think that after searching for literally over two weeks off-and-on I've found a really cool image that fits a decent amount of my criteria, but it was not easy by any means.

And I say that this is overthinking because, especially in majority white spaces/activities, I sometimes feel the.. politics? of what it can mean to be the only or one of few poc black people in a space. And so it's not even that I try to go out of my way to overly-compensate and Be The Representation or whatever,, but I do find myself often considering how my engagement in the space could inform how others view other black people. I don't want it to seem like I'm putting this huge pressure on myself whenever I'm anywhere, it's just that I try to be mindful of the choices I make. And I don't always get it right, but I try to learn.

For instance. I will never criticize an HBCU in mixed company. That would be a bad look!! So in the context of dnd, I wanted an image that would put a black person in the aesthetic in a respectful way that would seem non-intrusive, since fantasy has a history of being an all-white aesthetic (at least among the heroes :/ ). So I wanted to be purposeful about my selection. It just took SO LONG. But pinterest came through as she so often does.

Essentially. TL;DR. I don't want to ever give anyone the impression that I am a "safe space" for anti-blackness. But I also don't want to have a "that's not okay" conversation and ruin a moment. So I consciously use subtle signals to prevent that.

I've been using the Saie illuminator as an imperfect dupe for the discontinued glamglow glowstarter and while I do need to find an actual moisturizer to mix it with I highkey love how it gives me that little extra shimmer in the morning without looking greasy or anything. The little sparkles also stay on my hands throughout the day :) little things, little things.

Tried learning the Beyonce Diva dancebreak combined tiktok choreo that's been making the rounds and it went just about as well as I'd expected :/ My photo-friend says I'm not believing in myself enough and he's absolutely correct. I just can't dance T.T And yet. I keep trying. Hhhhhhhh I should get back into a beginner class. I'd love to learn partner dancing. I'm far more likely to attend a ball than go to a club tbf.

Today I'm thankful that.. that all my rec letters are submitted and that I will have completed my fellowship app by this time next week. Actually I'd like to have it in by thursday tbh. It's close!!! Also thankful that the midterm I had this week was literally fine [edit, weeks later: I actually did so well hehe].

Two weeks to bar crawl. Might've gotten fabric for it today. Not the perfect blue, but tbh? Not overly pressed. This is halloween, not cosplay. Hope I got enough (preeeeetty sure I did). Will check one other fabric store to see if they have a better option. If so I'll use what I got today to test the construction of Wanda's minidress (I think I found fabric to use for the black but the store didn't? have? a red? knit??? bizarre.). Redesigned and completed the crochet bracers. Will only wear them if it's cold ofc. Need to think about hidden pockets. Maybe in the white sash/belt? Trickier for Wanda. Hm.

Notes to self: at least hold something in your hand at a party, you look like a doofus without anything. also when people are going out after a pregame, look the part like you're going out with them even if you aren't. you have the body; show a little skin. prude.

sure!

ukraine is rather quiet and tends to keep to herself most of the time. she was never one looking for trouble. however, she's also incredibly bitter and tends to have problems with jealousy. this formulated especially during world war two involving poland. it's one of the only times she's ever actively had a grudge against someone, and it'd been building up since the 20s after the polish-ukrainian war and poland promising to protect her. this obviously didn't go well, as during the polish-soviet war ukraine disappeared from their own plane and out into the real world (ooh i'll have to give context on that. basically in my hc theres a plane specifically for countries to live in and then theres our world. a free and sovereign country can travel between the two freely but annexed countries are limited to the real world. it's incredibly lonely out there considering they cannot talk to anyone other than other countries.). from there she just grew angrier and angrier at poland, viewing him as being let off the hook and undeserving of his freedom which eventually culminated in, uh, everything the upa did to polish people LOL.

after world war 2 the two didn't talk much. poland very specifically avoided areas where she thought she might've seen her (as well as her sister in all honesty. i hc ukraine and lithuania as good friends while under the ussr because they're both, uh, a little angry at poland during this time). during the time she spends alone and out there she grows into a very defiant person. she begins to learn to stand up for herself.

after the fall of the soviet union she gets on good terms with most of europe and begins to despise her brother (russiaaaa) post-georgia invasion. she forms a friend group with lithuania and poland (lublin triangle!) as well as georgia and moldova (association trio :3). to her friend's she's known as a very brave person who isn't afraid to stand for what she believes to be right. outsiders might view her initially as soft but that pretty much got thrown out the window with the whole "Russia invades ukraine" thing. it also helped her be "friends" with america. (america is very stocky and does not consider anyone to be his friend, only allies. he acts like an emotionless corporation twitter account tbf)

she enjoys crochet and hiking. she has chronic migranes and joint pains due to chernobyl. she is a girlboss

Mumbo is allergic to oranges

Mumbo’s real name is Oliver “Oli” BROTHERHOOD. What a last name. In my mind the real reason he didn’t come back in time for the crossover is because having two Olis would be too confusing. He had a build called the Olicopter once as well. Similarly, Grian’s last name is Batchelor. This is ironic, because Grian is married.

Mumbo and Doc are tied for tallest hermits, both 6′5. Grian is tied for shortest with Cleo, both 5′6. Also, allegedly Scar is 6′0 standing??

James Charles is a fan of Mumbo. Pewdiepie once plugged Mumbo for Mayor and it got spammed hard and became like a genuine problem for a bit.

Grian’s name on YouTube got changed to “Sun” for like a day and then changed back. Nobody knows why. Grian does mean sun in some languages, to be fair.

Grian’s favorite color is brown (source: Carrot. Carrot did say that he added on that he doesn’t like picking a favorite because someone will get peeved)

Pungence (a former hermit and Bdubs’ brother) originally went by “AssyrianAssassin”. His Minecraft skin matches Bdubs’ original.

Speaking of, Bdubs’ face was not always :D. It used to be :|, then Etho wished for him to get bigger eyes and a bigger smile. The world has never been the same.

little review of gacha life 2!

i got into gacha life in 2019, then gacha club when it came out, then around 2022, i stopped. i've been on and off since, doing to odd edit, creating the odd character, but i haven't really been an avid gacha fan since. this game might change that.

to begin with, they've got rid of one of the biggest problems with every gacha game prior: the severe lack of black hairstyles and clipping. in gacha club, you had like 20 different combos for actually good black hairstyles overall. i think there's more parts for black hairstyles than that in gl2. i love it so much.

i was hoping for different body types, but unfortunately no. you can kind of achieve this by adjusting the bodies, and there are sort of body presets, but i wouldn't really say they're that good. at the same time, i understand different body types can really complicate things, so i'll let them off.

ANYWAY! time for the actual fun stuff: the characters i made.

to begin with, i made my selfsona. honestly, it would've been easier to just make my actual self, but i digress.

next, i decided to make blue pender!!! i knew they'd be fairly easy to make because she did originate as a gacha life character and the majority of her designs are from gacha club! also the reference image has a different outfit because im not actually allowed to post my art of blue in the outfit shown below and i cant be bothered to draw it

also it's funny to see how things have slowly been warped. like how blue's earring is SO MUCH BIGGER than it was orginally (also the elf ear is fake they're only wearing a silcone one)

finally, i wanted to make a character that would be really hard to make: glitch the rat. glitch was NOT designed in a gacha game, and yk. they're a rat. so i went to make a human version, and then

WDYM ANTHRO CHARACTERS ARE EASY TO MAKE??? WHAT??? THIS CANT BE REAL??? i mean, tbf, the whole 'no naked people' thing does complicate things, but ive been playing since before gacha heat became a problem and play shovelware for fun, i can deal with clipping.

overall, it was really fun and i highly recommend to anyone who's been thinking of playing gacha, any old fans or new!!! i mean, as i said, i might get back into gacha because of this. oh and thank god theres no more pedophile (lentotally)
