900 words done today for my romantasy novel 🥳 i’m trying to get halfway by the end of the month. As a reward, I’ll start editing a chapter a day of A Chant for Blood to get it ready for beta readers. I’m like, jittering with excitement because i havent felt this motivated in a while, but it’s 2 am and I must slumber 😔

Something often overlooked about age regression is that it's not always about soft, comfortable things. Sometimes it's about allowing yourself to make impulsive choices. Sometimes it's about being okay with getting your clothes dirty outside; you don't have to worry about cleaning them now. Sometimes it's about the impulse to break and destroy things, even things you really like and care about. These things aren't opposed to being small, they can very much be a part of it.

Since Viktor is like ten years older than powder, in my head, he knows Vander. Maybe he doesn't remember vi or powder but you cannot tell me that Viktor never went to the Last Drop for a drink.

You also can't tell me that Vander, who has a terminal case of dad syndrome, didn't immidiately take to the snarky boy-genius who came in maybe twice a month.

In my head, Viktor sang along to Zaunite chants that roared throughout the bar, back when Vander and Silco were always together.

When Heimerdinger allowed him and Jayce to work on Hextech, Viktor thought it would be good day. So he took a little detour over the Piltovian market, only to hear the whispers. Some in Zaunite, some in the official language.

"The Hound is dead, have you heard?"

"Heard it was Silco. It was a matter of time."

"No it was enforcers! Killed ol' Benzo too."

"Yeah, they were after Vander's kids I heard."

"They all died in an explosion is what I heard in the lanes."

Viktor bought his groceries all the same. He didn't start conversation.

As he walked back home, his cane clacking lightly on the stone pavement he hummed. Quietly to himself.

A prayer to Jenna, for fresh wind. For clean air. Like he had once chanted at The Last Drop.

The second draft has 24,000 more words than the first draft, which amounts to 115,155. Pretty big for a fantasy novel 😅

I can't do this, he tells himself, and his hands are shaking. And then he does it. Pangi doesn't even have time to say anything – dripstone pierces his legs, and then Zam cleaves his skull with an axe. His blade, hands, face, and body become sticky and wet. He stares at his partner's corpse until it disappears. And then he mechanically turns to the spawntrapped bed.

His head is insanely heavy. It hums and hums and hums as if it contains a hive of angry bees. Dun, dun, dun, dun, his insanely pathetic heart rumbles, drowning out the sounds outside.

MAKE HIM REPENT

Pangi respawns. He tries to talk to him – Zam does not hear even a word, only sees his mouth gaping. Pangi tries to defend himself, but he has absolutely nothing. Pangi tries to escape, but Zam kills him before. Some of the blood gets into his eye.

It's ugly. He does not feel joy. Is this what people find fun? Is this what he was supposed to become? Is this the real price of the right to destroy the world?

slash. slash. slash. slash. slash.

Pangi seems to stop talking at some point. He doesn't cry – too much experience on the server, too much time spent with Zam – but it seems that there is disappointment in his eyes – condemnation, Zam decides, he condemns me. 

Pangi opens his mouth, trying to say something last, but Zam lowers his saber one last time, and somewhere in the distance there is a rumble of a ban. Pangi's corpse does not disappear. He stares at him for a while longer. He buries him on the spot. There are still not enough hearts in his chest.

Karliah comes from a very long line of ancient priestesses, however for the past 50 generations or so, ever woman in her matrilineal line has been stuck on a farm in the middle of the Blōthan-Tre Forest. She just so happened to leave when the barrier surrounding the farm weakened and came into contact with the Sanctum, an ancient temple that is home to the eldritch worm god. She has been hearing whispers ever since, but tells herself it is nothing but the wind. She fears the ancient temple, and so has never set foot inside of it.

She has no knowledge of her family’s history, but will learn in one of the later books when she is forced to set foot in the temple 🤭
