I watched I video I recorded when I was entering Nintendo world in Japan and I litterally started crying, the same thing I did when I was recording

I wish 3ds prices weren’t through the roof at this point in time bc everyone wants them so bad bc I thought about selling my current one so I can go get a mint green/lime green one . or maybe that happy home designer one or something but everytime I look at the prices it’s like $300

honest to god better late than never but i really wish i had played pmd2 earlier in my life bc i see lots of people nostalgic for the game since they played it as kids and it makes me feel kinda pathetic to get to gush about it as a grown ass 20 year old but. to be fair. it's so unexpectedly good and poignant and beautiful it can be enjoyed at any age. i've heard of moms playing this after their kid(s) beat it and they also loved it lol

#blog tag#i grieve a lot of games i could've played as a kid bc i did have both a DS and a R4 cartridge#but the R4 was gendered for some reason? i think my dad bought one that the vendor said was 'for girls'#it had animal crossing and barbie games and nintendogs y'know the drill. some mario and kirby games too#i lived a very traditionally feminine upbringing and didn't even know what pokemon was as a child#i knew pokemon was a thing until i hit puberty and had friends who liked it lol#mind you i was born in 2004 so the franchise was already pretty big at the time i was on puberty#pokemon x and y were 2 years old when i first learned about pokemon. just to put it into perspective#i didn't watch anime prior to that either. except for candy candy LMAOOOSDJFHGFKJD#i don't even remember if i caught pokemon on the tv and switched channel. my childhood is a biiiig blur#i don't remember almost anything about it. it's mostly just 'person told me i did this' etc#but that's a topic for sometime else

i dont talk about it much but my obsession with yoshi was absolutely insane
#i said percy jackson was my first hyperfix but no. no it was yoshi#i was 5 when i told my parents i wanted to live in a yoshi themed bedroom when i grew up#i bought at least 16 yoshi plushies in those big bulks and made an entire family with lore with my sister#light green yoshi was the baby - dark green yoshi was the big brother - red yoshi ran the bakery - pink and black yoshi were married - etc#my first drawings were these shitty yoshis with humongous eyes and i taped them all over the walls of home and showed them to my teachers#my first minecraft username was yoshisrawesome and i had that name for 8 years#i dream about being able to buy the mario party 5 yoshi plush because i saw it in a youtube series called ''yoshis island'' which i can#still recite word for word#i bought a yoshi backpack that was basically a giant stuffed animal with its saddle being an opening and i used it as a yoshi godzilla to#wreak havoc on all my other yoshi plushies if i felt like it#um. yeah#WAIT I FORGOT I BROUGHT THEM TO SCHOOL TOO#i would alternate colors and i was the yoshi kid#one day my friend stole my yoshi and hid it to try and play a prank on me and i cried to the lunch monitor who helped me look for it

I got to spend a few hours with my mom today before work! It was so much fun, and much-needed. I’ve been in much higher spirits all day. I can feel my drive flowing back into me!
Which also kinda sucks, because it was nearly a two-hour drive both ways and I work until 11, so I’m too exhausted to do anything about it. But I’m happy it’s here at least! I’ll be back to fulfill you soon, spicy Mareach fanfic ideas…
#we went to Sephora and Ulta!#we’re two very different people but we both love beauty#she’s the makeup queen and I’m the skincare guy and we give each other advice#she even bought me a moisturizer I was eyeing 🥹#then she took me to one of her and her husband’s favorite restaurants and it was delicious!#my baby sister was in school but we got her some of her favorite perfume from Sephora to surprise her#she’s almost a teenager. God she’s growing up so fast… I’m so proud of her 😭#then I dropped by the mall before heading home and got bootleg Mario and Peach keychains#they look so fucked up. I saw the mario movie!! I liked it a lot!!!
#urusai majou#it was really cute and charming!!#the animation was INSANELY beautiful like holy wow#and I was not expecting it to reference as many things as it did! like#they referenced smash bros?#they referenced the super show?#THEY REFERENCED STUPID MARIO BROS???#that one almost made me gasp audibly like. I was one of the og fans of that show back when I was like 14#and I super wasn't expecting it to come up in the official nintendo-licensed mario movie but ohhhmygosh#and the music! I was p worried it'd be like. modern radio-friendly pop songs haha#but no! half of it was orchestral remixes of the games' osts and the other half was 80's music!#YOU KNOW. FROM WHEN THE FIRST GAME CAME OUT. loved that little detail so much haha#the whole movie slapped honestly. it was so much fun#oh oh also!!! I survived the ENTIRE movie in my binder!!!#which is a HUGE deal for me bc like. I have massive sensory issues with tight clothing#like the only reason I even bought the binder was so I could acclimatise to it for dealing with the bandages after top surgery#the longest I'd worn it before tonight was like 15 minutes and I just managed it for two hours#so this has been a big big day for your pal al haha
