I've been brewing this post for far too long in my drafts, but I need more doomed!Bruce and Jason throughout universes. And it is not even always about the same Jaybin, dying in the warehouse scenarios!
Sometimes Jason is just a kid, who died in front of Batman, who maybe jumped in between Batman and the villain recklessly, to keep him safe, and whose blood stuck under Bruce's nails. His face haunts him in nightmares, still.
In other realities, Bruce meets Jason as a teen, and they never even get to become father and son officially - but they slowly get into each other's lives, until something awful happens, leaving a ghost of a smirking kid stroll behind Bruce's hunched figure for the rest of his life.
Or maybe it is one of these realities, where Jason crawls out of the Alley Crime himself, and manages to become famous in Gotham; the one, where he opens a charity fond, dedicated to people, who fight with the drug addiction. Bruce Wayne is sympathetic of a kid he meets during some of the events, and as they slowly start contacting each other more often, getting closer, he promises himself to protect him. Expect, Batman is late to save Jason Todd from the hands of yet another villain.
It could be the priest Jason Todd that meets bleeding out Batman on the stairs of the church, and who helps him out, for what he later pays with his life. Or they are not really vigilantes in any of these universes - just father and son.
And in some of these universes, they reconcile. In one of them, some of the medics connect the dots that a catatonic boy, who is covered in dirt, calling for his dad, for Bruce is Bruce's Wayne dead son, and try calling him. In another, LoA!Jason with his memory still being in a haze, crosses his path with Batman, before getting dipped in the Lazarus Pit.
But the point stands.
In all of them, Bruce Wayne is too late. In all of them, Bruce Wayne fails to save Jason Todd.

Justice League & The Observants
The first time The Observants appeared before the Justice League, they were met with resistance. The JL was more than apprehensive when it came to working with the beings.
A new side of their world was exposed to them. Since the day those things showed up at the watchtower, everywhere the JL turned, there was a new spooky thing to learn about.
The strange beings didn't say much. Appearing in the room through a swirling portal, took a look at the heroes and gave them a mission.
A mission. Like suddenly the Justice League works for them. Something that rubbed all the heroes the wrong way.
Yet, they had to take it. They couldn't let a town get absolutely destroyed and leveled just because they disliked the creatures that told them about it.
It kept happening.
Batman pulls out all the stops to learn more about these so called "Observants". Everything he could find.
It takes him down a rabbit hole. Finding out more and more about the world those beings came from. The Zone.
No one could really complain. The visits from the Observants were always short and to the point. A new problem has arise in the time line and they needed to fix it.
That was until the first time it wasn't one of those things stepping out of the portal.
This time it was a kid. Or something that looked like a kid, and this kid looked pissed.
He demands to know everything that the Observants had asked the league to do. Demands to be filled in.
The anger isn't directed at the JL. No, no. It's directed at the Observants. It seems the league aren't the only ones that despise those all-seeing beings.
He's a king. The kid is a King.
Not what anyone had expected, and it seemed the complication only grew more. The king, Phantom, informs them not to trust the Observants.
The Justice League takes it all in surprising strides. Confirms that they have done nothing wrong, and they haven't. It was simply that the Observants cared more of their own opinions than the betterment of the world.
However, it gets a little harder to keep a straight face when they are introduced to the God of Time.
Made even worse when the God, Clockwork, is a child. If they thought Phantom was a kid, this was a baby.
Except in almost a blink of an eye, Clockwork was an old man.
Things just kept getting more complicating and intriguing.
Before the Justice League knows it. They are essentially thrusted into the Zone's own problems. An inner war was brewing, and Phantom wanted to do everything he could to stop it.

Last episode destroyed me. Something something the feeling of intergenerational trauma and trying to stop the cycle of pain but only being able to prevent it as best you can- with more violence and pain- due to the societal and systemic pressures that force you to continue the cycle, ultimately only allowing for the most peaceful option to prevail- the option that caused the most personal sacrifice :(
#shisui ultimately believing everything falls on her and that she is at fault for the generational and systemic problems of the nation#which then results in her death and the pain of so many others#but overall being the better option to reduce the impact on the people as a whole#like yeah she definitely puts the blame of the past leaders and her parents for their mistakes and faults as ppl#but at the end of the day for her she believes she’s the one who has to fix those problems and stop the cycle bc of her position & knowledge#shisui is such a tragic character and I love her sm#and the last episode getting into Jinshi’s character a lot more and how he can relate so much to shisui#bc his parentage also creates such a huge weight on his shoulders to fix the intergenerational and systemic problems too#like they should be at the club#THESE KIDS R LITERALLY 19#get them to the club STAT#CEOs of deserved better#I think this episode was really important to the overall story and these characters in particular#like even tho we didn’t get any maomao moments in this ep#I still think this episode held so much importance and I’m glad I watched it#even tho it was so devastating like omg my shaylassssd#anyways that’s just a ramble#…a DRUNK RAMBLE#(see what I did there)#apothecary diaries season 2 spoilers#apothecary diaries#the apothecary diaries#apothecary diaries spoilers#jinshi#moon prince#shisui#loulan#sorry yall for the ramble I have so many thoughts that I cannot articulate well

getting emotional over fabian and his parents again because fuck. how could he not love them? they were good, sometimes, even though they hurt him accidentally, and his friends have been hurt so much worse- how could he ever complain? how could he ever abandon his mother, his father, the legacies that made up who he was supposed to be? who he isn't anymore? sure, they left him all alone, and sure, they weren't perfect- but they were better than his friends parents, a lot of the time. (worse, too.) he was provided for and never worried a day in his life about money or if he would have a place to sleep, how could he complain in the face of adaine and riz and kristen? how could he? and how could he face his mother, and ask for an apology he's not even sure he's earned? she's happy, with a new partner and baby on the way- maybe he was the issue. maybe fabian's the bad one- she doesn't drink as much with fig around, does she?
do you think fabian blames himself for his childhood issues while denying he had any is what i'm saying basically.

I genuiely forgot that Xelqua is basically just Grian but not really
Like don't mind him, Grian's being a dad to another version himself lol
hahaha sometimes i think about it and i'm like, why did i do it this way, complicated for no reason <- had my reasons
Grian knows this, but he still can't help the parental feelings, if anything it might be worse to see himself as a child. He wants Xelqua to have a better childhood than he ever did. Its weirdly healing. He's really happy when Xelqua runs to him for comfort, or wants a second bowl of food.
I don't think kid Xelqua is aware of this, I don't know how it'd even be explained to him, he's so young he doesn't even know where he's come from. Grians the first adult to actually care about him long term, and that was scary for awhile.
I think that because Grian takes good care of him, Xelqua can actually age and learn, so he's a pretty normal child, ignore the Watcher stuff.
Grian also somewhat parents the other versions too, but he has a more big brother role there rather than dad. (Tho, I think Saint Xelqua has moments where he wants Grian's attention so bad lol, subconsciously the kid's emotions are messing with his, so he's sitting at Grian's feet while he cooks and occasionally bugging him for a piece.)

ā€œTeam Iron Man or team Cap?ā€ TEAM I CANT PICK A SIDE BECAUSE BOTH SIDES WERE RIGHT AND WRONG!!!! NEITHER SIDE WAS 100% RIGHT ABOUT ALL OF THEIR ACTIONS AND THOUGHTS
I cant pick because it’s not black and white or good and bad, the entire movie is, ultimately, everybody trying to do what they thought was best for the Avengers and their friends.

Sasha using the title "Lord" in RiAAU after taking over Toad Tower and presumably killing Grime and stealing Barrel's Warhammer from him, and other political and military leaders assuming she's a man because, well, Sasha is a gender neutral name, so they hear Lord Sasha and assume they're talking about an adult male toad warrior. The second most powerful person in the known world and only real threat to the Leviathan reign!
Cue princess Marcy fleeing Newtopia and her father seeking refuge with his worst enemy hoping to offer information and political levarage in exchange for protection, perhaps even offering herself in marriage to transfer eventual inheritances and whatnot, and she finds out that Lord Sasha is not, indeed, a dark and domineering toad warlord, but a beautiful, terrifying girl her age that looks like her and oh god her poor little lesbian heart can barely take it.
#amphibia#sasharcy#marcy wu#sasha waybright#my posts#raised in amphibia au#sasha and marcy are over here living in game of thrones while#anne is playing stardew valley with a mod that gives you ptds#Sasha being mistaken(? as a man being a common misunderstanding due to poor communication to the point potential allies don't believe her#unless she's carrying the hammer around herself#lord sasha with her two wives... nnhnhnn... one representing her alliance with the frogs of frog valley and possibly beyond depending on ho#she and her grandfather (current mayor of wartwood) play their cards#and the other in her sansa stark era (horrible violations of bodily autonomy involved) (not by sasha btw) trying to maintain alliances#with noble newt houses after betraying her father and eloping with the enemy#after learning The Truth^TM (which she's conveniently hiding from everyone else except maybe olivia and that's a big maybe)#cue some nice toad civil wars (the eastern and northern tower may support sasha but despite their less than friendly relationship#beatrix will NOT recognize this magical alien's victory over her dead brother. and my friend beatrix is not to be messed with)#anne having lots of self worth issues after her very morally questionable grandfather married her off to sasha for political reasons#marcy having. uh. green blood. and a weird metalic port in the back of her neck. her brain feels tingly when she touches it#and king andrias desperately fighting to crush this little frog valley rebellion and punish those to blame for the abduction of his daughte#edit: i meant ptsd. anne has ptsd from that time she may or may not have accidentally indirectly caused the death of sprig and polly's#parents at age 8 (they were her parents for 4 years. the only parents she remembers. she hasn't forgiven herself and deep down#neither has hop pop but we don't talk about it)

Started thinking about how Dick lost the two most important people in his life at the age of 8 and since then death has never left him. It's just so heartbreaking because it will never stop affecting him. He can't stop caring, he can't possibly stop loving the people who enter his life no matter how high the chances he'll lose them too are. He could lose his whole family, all his friends ('s been close both, even if some eventually came back) and yet he would never stop welcoming people in his life because his heart is just so big and he has so much love to give.

Parents in mha universe are so chill because this reaction right here isn't what you would say about your child soldier son who just got revived from death and has to go against the most dangerous and vilest villain boss out there. This is the type of reaction you would have if your son was an athlete attending the Olympics and was about to go against a three-time gold medalist😭😭
Tumblr media
"oh no no I can't watch this, he's about to go against this legend who has won the Olympics three times in a row" 😭

Hey. hey. it'll be ok. (lying) Caleb feeling responsible for the effects of others actions on his behalf. I kind of think most people just make decisions for him and do things for him without caring if he actually wants it (see: the main plot of The Owl House). Caleb's desires are put last but people use his name first. So Caleb does feel responsible for what happens when people do things for him, even tho he never asked them to do it.
People who are close with Caleb know what he's saying without him having to say it. Evelyn knows Caleb better than anyone, they were childhood best friends but they also can share things with each other that they wouldn't share with Philip, especially because Caleb was his guardian/ parental figure.

despite not feeling like illario should be a parent or mentor figure to absolutely anyone at all. and of course lots of media has done "unhappy mentor to a young child that ends up getting attached". but have we all considered the idea of illario finding a fledgling that's been tossed aside or had their house stripped from them, sees his failure reflected back at him . right . and before he knows what he's doing and against his better judgement and his arrogance and his pride, illario brings them into house dellamorte. to start it's just to piss off caterina. give it about a month and he'll start projecting his own desire to succeed and since he can't rise above his own humiliation then this fledgling HAS to. and then he gets attached. and then during particularly gruelling and horrible crow training, illario reminds himself of caterina. right then and there he would have to decide if he can stomach turning into her, or if he can finally begin to understand the unconditional love that lucanis has always felt towards him
