I've been following Chappell Roan for a while and I must say, a burning, fizzy fuzzy desire grows in my heart whenever I listen to her. That is the same desire I get when I want to sing or when I first saw Doja Cat becoming popular. Same desire when I listen to Doja's or another artists every single song, slowly falling in love with every single aspect of them, especially their way of implementing emotions to other's hearts through melodies, beats or lyrics.

That desire probably comes from the fac that Chappell was a "bedroom artist" the girl who did covers on youtube, wishing on stars to be heard by people who share a similar feeling, passion as her.

I want to do that too. Even though my voice doesn't fit many songs, even though I have teenage voice cracks, even though I can't trust neither myself nor other people when it comes to the "what if I sound bad" paradox.

Cus they all said "your voice is pretty" then talked shit behind my back.

Anyways, I love Chappell and how she doesn't give a fuck about anyone. I love her music and how she dances and enjoys herself on stage. I'm not lesbian but I can feel the love, loneliness, joy and all the other feelings I can't describe through her songs.

I hope I can go to one of her concerts before I die

some really funny things about this panel i haven’t stopped thinking about:

jason specifically offering drinks to tim, the teenager

tim, the teenaged vigilante, turning down jason’s offer of drinks because he’s underage

i know tim’s age is wack, but if we choose to stick with one semi-consistent timeline, then jason is only three years than tim. ie also underage

i have to assume jason knows which gotham bars don’t card because fake ids will only get him so far

dick is also here but he isn’t doing anything about his siblings underage drinking because he’s too busy brooding over the gotham skyline. as one does

I think a lot of people haven't actually read Flatland so you may not realize A. What Bill's eye mutation means and B. What precisely Bill did to destroy his homeworld.

Bill's home isn't completely the same as Edwin Abbott's Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions (notably, women and men can be both polygons #feminism) but we can assume most of the mechanics are the same. The basic premise is that the world is 2D. Everyone perceives the world in a 1D way, along the plane. There's a part of Journal 3 that describes this pretty well.

Bill can see up to the stars because his eye is on the flat surface instead of on the side like everyone else, like this:

(He's also slightly 3D, as we can see in the show.)

But there's one more important Flatland detail. The denizens of Flatland (and therefore likely Euclydia) do still have organs "inside" their bodies. Since there is no depth, they're just on the inner radius of their bodies. The 2007 Ehlinger movie adaptation shows that:

If Bill wanted to "give his world a new perspective" and "show everyone what they were missing," he wanted to get everyone to look upward.

Meaning he probably tilted the entire world.

Meaning everyone not only slid off of the plane, but all of their organs spilled out and everyone died.

...Hence "so much blood."

(The only issue with this is that it doesn't account for the number of times Euclydia is referred to have been burned ("saw his own dimension burn / misses home and can't return", he only has ashes leftover), but I'm sure the act of turning an entire dimension upwards expends a lot of energy.)

seeing a new influx of players coming to warframe because of the addition of Hot People You Can Kiss only for the only way to get to them to be like a bajillion different quests and mission types and systems you gotta figure out is kinda funny tbh. not for the fact they're here because of that (godspeed to those baby tenno!) but because we're basically giving dating sim players guns and sending them out to save the solar system like twenty times over before they can even think about that.

like yeah, you gotta learn about the horrors of war n' exploitation and the struggles that come with discovering one's own identity but also the power of love, understanding, and community first. also you gotta figure out what a mod is and shoot this guy's weakpoint a kajillion times if you want a chance at that last frame part you're missing. sorry.

It’s calming.”  The small smile he got in response melted his heart a little bit. Fucking hell, he was so gone for this asshole. Stiles didn’t know what he was going to do. He wished he’d never realized how much he loved him. Wished he’d just continued to think they were best friends and nothing more. It was slowly going to kill him being so close, and yet so fucking far. Clearing his throat, he brought the book back up to continue reading, muttering that Derek should keep playing. He did, his fingers plucking gently at the strings, filling the loft with soft music. It really was calming, and soothing. Stiles really liked it. He liked it even more when he realized Derek could honestly express himself with the guitar. It still wasn’t a voice, but it was something, at least.

This fic is what spurred me to start doing sterek fanart back in the beginning of december - magic!stiles, cursed!derek, stiles/jackson terrifying everyone else as friends - an incredible 430K story with a completely endearing slow-burn and slowly unfolding exploration of the characters and their relationship, made complete with the perfect bow of cursed-mute-Derek because 'Derek's eyebrows have a language of their own but only Stiles is fluent' is my favorite and this author does it SO well. And gives Derek a guitar. Derek plays a guitar!!

Ella, consider this my loveletter to your works - they all, this one in particular, buoyed me through a tough time in my life and brought me back to a love of drawing that I haven't had in years and a fandom that has been so generous in their support of my silly art. Thank you for sharing your works!

it's seriously so.. Something that i've had multiple people tell me that my posts are the first they're hearing about The Day the Earth Blew Up.. WHICH IS WHY I'M BEING AN OBNOXIOUS SHILL!!! some theaters have early releases as soon as TODAY (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) so please please be sure to check your local theaters and listings!! take a friend! take your family! in doing so you not only spread the message that people want to see more traditionally animated films, you not only convince WB you don't want to see movies that are glorified shoe commercials, you not only convince WB that they are dead wrong for attempting to write this off for tax purposes, but you get a pretty dang good film out of it, too! let director Pete Browngardt and supervising producer Alex Kirwan tell you the same 👇

personally, as someone who works in animation, i'm very against the messaging of "IF YOU DON'T WATCH THIS YOU ARE SINGLEHANDEDLY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY FAILURE THAT COMES. YOU ARE MURDERING THE ANIMATORS". i find it condescending and unprofessional, and it only alienates your audience further. nobody should be forced to watch something they dont want to. especially when most (if not all) of these problems come strictly from above.

HOWEVER: you have absolutely nothing to lose by watching this.

you can feel good about supporting a film that almost didn't make it and helping to contribute to spreading a message that we want more films like this. you get to bask in the satisfaction of proving the higher ups wrong, that we DO want movies like this, we DO want traditional animation, we DO want to support the artists. but the best thing of all is that you get to enjoy a traditionally animated film on the big screen again

knowledge or investment of the characters and series is genuinely, in my eyes, irrelevant. i sincerely think it has elements that can be appreciated by anyone--even if, again, it just comes down to the satisfaction of doing a good turn and showing your support for animation. there is absolutely nothing you can lose by supporting it, but so, so much you, these workers, and the medium of animation as a whole can gain. if you have a spare hour and a half within the next few weeks, get out of the house, grab a friend, grab your siblings, grab your significant other, or just grab your own company and chill out with a gorgeous and funny and heartwarming and history defying movie. it's no small miracle that something like this exists in the current climate of the animation industry. don't you want to say you could play a hand in experiencing that miracle?
