Every Bit As Magical

After years of working with the Avengers Initiative, you were no stranger to being on the Quinjet, but when Steve had insisted on not telling you the destination, you knew this had to have something to do with your birthday coming up this weekend.

And when he had tied your eyes while you’d been somewhere above an ocean, gently whispering that he didn’t want to spoil the surprise as he’d gently put the soft satin covering on your eyes, you’d barely be able to stay in your seat.

He had led you out of the Quinjet, taking your hand in a warm, certain grip. Okay, honey, I’m going to need you to get in the car now, the seat’s right there, that’s perfect, he’d cooed, and even as you had no idea where you were, you couldn’t have felt safer than you did with him.

When the car stopped, and Steve went round to open the door for you and help you out, you were practically bursting with curiosity. You heard a collection of various languages, sounds of a bustling happy place.

“Alright, honey, we’re here,” he said, and you could hear the pride and love in his voice even before he removed the fabric from your eyes. “I love you. I hope you like it.”

There was a spark in the blue of his eyes, and when he moved from out of the way, you saw the building in front of you. The grand, fairytale-like architecture of the hotel would have been recognizable even if it hadn’t been on your Pinterest boards. The five-star hotel right at the gates of the park stood proud in front of you, looking every bit as magical as you’d always imagined.

“Steve… Is this… Are we…” you managed to get from your mouth, certain that you were going to faint any second out of sheer happiness. “You brought me to Paris just so we could visit Disneyland here?”

You turned to him, eyes wide, and the smug smile on his face told you that you weren’t dreaming. He pulled his hand from behind his back, holding two pairs of Disney Ears. Careful as ever, he set the ones that had a polka dot bow on top of your head before leaning in to kiss your forehead.

“I know you always said you wanted to visit,” he said, as he bowed his head to let you put the simple black ears on him. “So I wanted to make that dream come true. Our luggage – I know, Nat helped me decide what I should pack for you – has been taken from the airport here, and we’re booked for the next five days so that we get the full experience.”

It was all you could do to kiss him at that point; simply leap to him, wrapping your arms around his neck and pressing your lips to his. He was laughing, hugging you to him and gently caressing your back.

“I love you so much,” you whispered when you finally felt like he’d gotten the message. “You are amazing.”

He replied with a smirk and then made a theatrical bow, gesturing towards the entrance of the hotel.

“Your suite awaits, Your Royal Highness. Once we check in, you can bring out the immensely detailed park visit plan I know you have, and I shall await your orders.”

Okay but like what if in Epic when Ody reunites with his wife and kid there's a quiet moment when they fully realize that its been around 20 years since they last saw each other, and they're back together and nothing is in their way now, they're all safe and happy, for Ody, and maybe even for Penelope and Telemachus, it's the first time in 20 years they actually are okay, nobody is here to hurt them anymore, no one's lurking around the corner to try and get them, and what if, in that moment, Ody sings quietly, "Penelope.....Telemachus..." while stroking his son's hair he never got to see grow, cupping his wife's cheek finally getting to touch and see her after all these years, as a presentation of the growth over these sagas, every time he's said that he's screamed it, yelled it, he killed his whole crew for the chance he could have this, and now he has it, and the music is soft and hopeful for he finally has what he's been working toward for so long....and what if I go cry WHAT THEN HUH??

Most people never see it. Most people assume the harsh lines of his face combined with a biting attitude to match is all that is there.

Yes, Harry's favorite thing about Draco is his smile.

The way his lips twitch every morning when they are woken up by Penny—their deaf owl that doesn't realize the sheer volume she possesses with each hoot. The way a small smile curves his lips when he sees that tea has been made for him at breakfast despite the fact that Harry has been doing that for years. The way a shy smile comes out whenever Harry holds his hand, the gentle curve just begging to be kissed. The way he grins every time Harry leaves for work and forgets his broom. Every. Single. Day.

But his favorite smile, oh no, his favorite smile is the small gentle one pressed into Harry's neck at night when he is told how much he is loved, how much he is cared for and how Harry thanks every single day that Draco became his husband.

FUCK you don't understand how important it is for me to have Andrew with Hazel Eyes. Because then, he's all gold.

Blond hair, and slightly tanned white skin, and bright hazel eyes. He's the definition of a golden boy. Nature and genetics tell you that he should be a golden ray of sunshine and fortune and fame.

But he isn't.

He is not shiny and not valuable and he isn't even wanted. He is not good enough, not golden. He is just- a boy. A boy with a great face and hair and eyes and with a past so fucking bloody that not even the brightest gold ray of sun can shine through some of those shadows.

Not until Neil, the boy that has also been doomed for the start but was gifted with a physical appearance good enough to make people faint, comes in. He looks at him like he's the most important thing in the whole world, and Andrew always finds himself with absolutely no idea of what to do next.

And it's amazing.

He's not a your golden child, or your perfect trophy boy, but he definitely becomes a treasured man. Not because of his face, or hair, or hazel eyes. But because that's what he DESERVES.

Your heart pounded in your chest as you stared back up at her. Mind racing as you attempted to recall the speech you’d crafted. “I know this is abnormal for you. I just want you to know my bounds of love.” You began with a deep blush. Lae’zel appeared dumbfounded as she took the scene in. “This gesture means a lot from Faerûn. It means someone wants to be with the other eternally. In both life and death. I do, Lae’zel. I love you.” The last words were spoken much softer but with a resounding confidence. It’s something you said before and meant wholly. Her expression changed to something nearly unreadable, settling you with a sense of unease. The girl grabbed your forearm and tugged you up. Frowning with the assumption she was preparing to reject you. It surely didn’t hurt to try, you reasoned, ignoring the ache threatening to spill. She grabbed the ring from your hand and inspected it closer. To your surprise, she slipped it on her finger.

“I suppose i’ve grown used to you already. I’ll marry you… under the condition we blend our cultures. Also, I don’t want a grandiose celebration. Opens us to vulnerability if enemies lurk nearby.” You watch her in awe before choking out a laugh. Shaking your body and wiping the nerves from yourself. She watched with a small smile, amused by how endearing you were. “Yeah- yeah, of course. I’m just- wow, I can’t believe you even said yes. I was preparing myself for the worst.” Lae’zel shook her head at that. One hand cupping your jaw to bring you in closer. “Before I met you, surely. You’ve shown me much on our journey. I know i’ll continue to learn in our future.” She closes the distance with your lips. Soaring, you wrap your arms around her waist and press your chests together. Pouring all the affection and enthusiasm into the gesture.
