Harry's first real love interest being an AVIAN is the absolute amazing, silliest thing EVER. The running joke, during the entirety of the show, of Harry being attracted to Avians actually being made into a relevant plotline is the most resident alien thing I could even think of bro. So rewarding for the viewer how they followed through with it instead of it just being a bunch of throw away lines !! It just speaks to how amazing the writing in this show is. It never stops surprising me, I love a story where every little detail is relevant and connected. (And I love surprises) IT'S SO GOOD. !!!

And they have the best, funniest chemistry dude. During their weird makeout scene I had to remember that these are actually actors doing this in front of a camera because it just felt so believable and real lmfaooo. 😭🙏 These actors are so amazing. I'm so impressed with everyone's performance in this show, it all feels so realistic; despite all the crazy alien shit constantly going on. (Especially with D'Arcys portrayal, she's actually my favorite character lmfao. Sorry Harry love youuu.)

I am soooo so glad they didn't do the "guy character is obviously attracted to woman female woman character but makes it really weird and it's uncomfortable and the "comedy" is how uncomfortable the woman is and how pushy the guy is." ...Trope. I was so worried about it when Heather was first introduced bc it's such an easy grasp at comedy that SOOO many shows are guilty of. It felt like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders when it was the exact opposite !!!. Making it a mutual crush had me literally kicking and giggling and jumping for joy, it's so cute and silly. The divergence of expectations just gerrr I eat it the fuck up every time. More cute and silly weird aliens in love please.

Ik people are put off by the instant puppy love but believe me. Instant puppy love is some real powerful shit y'all. I have felt that FIRST HAND !!! Plus I'm just a sucker for corny, cheesy romance in general. Whaaat I won't lie...I looooove bitches being cringe together, it's the most freeing thing in the world. And for me, the absolute strongest element of resident alien is how the character's relationships are written. I know some crazy shit is going to go down. But I am genuinely rooting for these two !! 😁 I love how Harry doesn't have to hide or change any part of himself for her. For the first time since he's been on Earth, he's been able to be totally 100% honest with someone. He can't even do that with Asta! I think their relationship makes so much sense. Especially with Harry's longing to find another alien to relate to. (And him actually getting that !!! Ahhh !!!! I love him being happy. He was so cute this whole episode.)

They don't have to be endgame or anything, I just hope it resolves in a way that makes sense. Even if it's not exactly what I would've wanted. BUT THE TRAILER???

I'm actually pretty interested as it seems like the story being built up from season one and the first part of season two seems to be coming to fruition.

Like I see that we're actually gonna get development in a lot of relationships like Verosika and Blitz mother, That and Stolitz which I have my own feelings about but I do believe that they could pull it off with what we've been teased with in the trailer.

With the Cherubs meeting the agents up above, Elsa bird coming into play, Octavia getting more and more involved in the so-called family buisness and my bOY MAMMON MY BELOVED

This is the chance for HB to fix the issues I had with the first part of season two, Like if we get those addressed with a hella good finale on top of that? Golden, May redeem season two in my eyes.

I feel like it could genuinely turn out to be a good ending to the season!

My favorite part is Sun healing the wounds of Moon/the Bird after the wolf attack.

I sometime pictures Moon's bird form resembles Plague Knight from Shovel Knight or Howl's bird form from Howls Moving Castle.

Had the strangest dream just now so I'm trying to document it before I forget about it. It was about a David Cronenberg DS game that collected David Cronenberg GBA licensed movie games and presented them as they were in their original GBA state. It was hosted by "The Imp," a creature I can only describe as a cross between Tweety Bird from Looney Toons and Caliborn from Homestuck (very prominent forehead, not any clothes on that sucker), with their whole body covered in spots and with very spikey shoulders and a long pointed nose. The Imp himself had a theme song done by Oingo Boingo called "I Am A Looker," in which the imp, who is also rendered in a hideously horrendously realistic art style akin to a Hieronymus Bosch painting, croons at you about how "I am a looker/I can't tell right from wrong/I'll tell you what/I won't shut up/and that's my little song!" or something. At some point in the dream, I look outside my window, and there playing on CITY TV (?????) is-you guessed it!-a David Cronenberg Christmas movie, just playing outside on a massive billboard. This is about the time the me in the dream gets freaked out because this is NOT supposed to happen apparently, and I try to close the double doors that go into my bedroom, but they get...untangled from themselves somehow, and can't quite close the way into the bedroom? All while the song "I am a looker" is blaring from the DS Speakers, btw. At some point I do my patent pending "floor clip" routine where I fall through the floor after realizing it is all a dream, and then I went over to write this post for you all. I've attached my best rendition of "The Imp" to this post but please note it was, again, in a Hieronoymus Bosch art style and not the cartoony thing I've drawn for you today. I also think it was somehow more...rotting skin coloured than the grey I've chosen for you all today, but it gets the point across I think. I don't know. whatever. You make up your own "The Imp" design. I just thought this was worth sharing. Also, point worth mentioning: I don't like David Cronenburg movies. I will never watch a David Cronenburg movie. You say I'm on the right track with my theory so I'm gonna spit out there that if/when the time comes and Wilbur's planning to go back to Eldingvegr, he's going to, in his most calm way that Phil does, find a way to make Wilbur stay but won't force him to and then Wilbur's going to be like "yeah you're right i don't wanna go :((" and stay or like just silently wait for Wilbur to make the decision to stay.

OR Wilbur will go back w/ Tommy and realize after a couple days on Eldingvegr that he needs Phil because where we stood in the beginning of the fic literally nobody on Eldingvegr listened to him like Phil does or talked to him without looking down upon him as a bastard child other than Tommy, though their relationship is still goin through stuff so who knows what it'll be like in the end (I guess there is also Niki, but we have no idea how their relationship will be if/when they meet back up either)

I'm hoping onto the bandwagon that the end of the fic is gonna be Wilbur staying on Zephys IV and Tommy's going go back to be king, but the second idea I think has some good opportunity.

The mediocrity continues! I feel like I've read newspaper funnies with higher stakes than this plot. Nothing bad ever really happens to the main characters and they always look/act pristine. The character writing is giving Mary Sue/Gary Stu vibes. I wonder if I would like this back in middle school or if I'd have enough brain cells to recognize its blandness?

Lilia figures out a way to use magic without any magic energy (thanks to Toma). So now she's fulfilled her goal of allowing Elrich to use magic.

I'm not really emotionally invested at all at this point btw. Everything is so bland (especially Elrich who is just like "perfect boyfriend") that how could I be?

It feels kind of lazy that the bird gets a cool human form and the dragon just gets to be blue!Lilia :/

More random plot happenings...this time the King is under attack and they're asking Lilia to help. Again with the "chosen one" BS.

I feel like they totally ripped off the "butler attacks with steak knives" thing from Black Butler. Can't get nothin' past a veteran weeb!

Weirdly I feel like this manga could benefit from more characters. Yeslar and Reslar (Lilia's dragon and bird companions) get way too much screentime. They're so boring lol

Just when I complain about Lilia's spirits they introduce...even more spirits! Why did they just reveal that Toma had spirits outta nowhere like that?

Reslar freaking out at the faerie seemed a little overblown and out of character (what little character Reslar has). I think Lilia and Elrich should have scolded her instead of just distracting her :/

Ch. 25

I gotta admit, the Sage title is pretty badass. And it looks like she gets access to some fancy library/archive? Hell yeah.

I had the though of "instead of pursuing the invention of the camera via magic why doesn't she just try recreating the non-magical engineering it takes to develop a camera?" But then I was like...wait...I have no idea how a camera works. Also, she was just an otaku in her previous life so she wouldn't have that knowledge either.

Elrich seemed low key jealous that his fiance is more impressive than him. Hopefully those feelings don't turn ugly. (Who am I kidding? This manga has no stakes whatsoever).

Lilia's new ribbons are suuuper cute. As I've said before, this manga at least has eye candy if nothing else.

Can't decide if this chapter was wholesome or creepy. All these old men freaking out over Lilia with grandfatherly love. I guess it's just not a dynamic you see very often lol

Again we have the whole "MC is the super special chosen one who is smarter than everyone in their new world" vibes 😑

While I relate to Lilia being somewhat introverted, I do think she could have been a little nicer to the sages after they invited her so many times. It also felt weird to me that she didn't have the "wait, maybe this could further my research" revelation sooner.

Ch. 27

The age gap relationship stuff combined with the ultra girly aesthetic is kinda giving me UsagixMamoru from Sailor Moon. Not saying that makes it okay, just that this is pretty common with shoujo I guess.

"I like to carry you" is creepy (AKA she's so young you can carry her, dude >:/) but also...I wish I could be carried places lol. Seems really nice.

Lilia's "I should rely on others more" revelation is good, especially since it goes against the aforementioned "OP MC is better than everyone" vibes. I much rather her see her working with the community than just dominating everyone.

Lol back to this manga being absolutely zero stakes. They threatened to take Elrich away but were then like "sike, he doesn't have to go!" This is very "makes it easy" story telling.

They had a "The End" fake out...wish it was real.

The writing keeps pointing out how young Lilia is and how it's weird she's engaged to be married (actually married as of this chapter). If you think it's so weird, why did you write it!? No one is forcing you to write about a married 9 year old! -sigh-

I’m so sorry btw that a certain anonymous dickhead is giving you such a hard time (AGAIN at that, ugh). I hope that you can finally put an end to their hatred once and for all. ♡♡
