Jervis Tetch A.K.A The MAD HATTER 🎩🫖

OK So someone sent me an ask on here and unfortunately I can't find where it disappeared to-SO I'M VERY SORRY!

This person asked if I could make a reference sheet of my Hatter and share some headcanons, if I had any. I've never really done this before, or even had many headcanons so please bare with me lol. I didn't go into too much detail, Im not really a writer so I just tried to get the main points through.

Down The Rabbit Hole:

Has paranoid schizophrenia, and often hallucinates, especially when stressed. He mostly sees characters from Alice in Wonderland, seeing the Cheshire cat or “Alice” the most.

When very stressed or feel like hes losing control of a situation, he begins to stutter horribly. His words get jumbled in his mind, and thats when he starts reciting quotes or poems from AIW relevant to the situation hes in. Before he became the Mad Hatter, and became a criminal he stuttered constantly while speaking to anyone. 

 Jervis controls people by drugging and hypnotizing them, But the strongest form of mind control he has are the masks he puts on his “Guests”. 

For goons or regular street thugs he manages to get, he mostly uses cards on them instead of wasting materials to make masks for them. Figuring It would be easier than having Batman break them and forcing him to constantly  remake the same ones over and over. 

Also its a chance to call his thugs the “Card Guards” which amuses him.

His goons don’t matter much to him, but if he assigns you a specific character, you are highly important to his “Tea Parties” and are at risk of being forced to attend indefinitely.

 For his “Tea Party” guest list, he has crafted actual masks for them to wear, in correlation to the Character he assigned to each guest. He does make sure the guests are drugged with his special tea before putting the masks on them. Wouldn’t want to risk having you manage to break free of his control during the party! Or ever.

March Hare=Scarecrow, Dormouse= Riddler, White Rabbit= Ventriloquist, Cheshire Cat= Catwoman, The Dodo= Penguin, Mock Turtle= Mr.Freeze, Queen of Hearts= Poison Ivy, The Walrus= Bane, The Jabberwocky= Batman  

He customizes the masks so they even resemble the actual people.

His closest friends are Jonathan Crane, and Edward Nygma, his March Scare and Dorrat.

Jonathan was a psychologist so he knows how to handle Jervis, and can tolerate him for the most part. Edward on the other hand may think Jervis is a useful ally, but he's not nearly as patient with him as Jonathan is. Neither of them like being called by their "nicknames" Jervis gave them.

Jervis fell in love with the woman he had been working with, before he became a criminal, that put everything into motion. Her actual name wasn't Alice, but they both bonded over their fondness for the story, and he started to call her Alice as a fun nickname or inside joke. Though his obsession with her had already begun.

After losing it, and becoming a criminal and kidnapping "Alice" he was defeated by Batman, (Much like how it happened in BTAS). "Alice" fled Gotham after this, but Jervis doesn't know that, and is too far gone to realize that she would leave him. SO he roams the streets of Gotham looking for his beloved "Alice".

OK THAT'S IT! At least these were all I could think of. Obviously my Jervis is heavily based off the Arkham series and BTAS. But I love this little crazy guy.

Pictures taken seconds before disaster.

You might have received alerts about this mod updating a bunch over the past few days, after me saying I was done with it, in true aylin_origin_final_final(2)final.pak spirit. Well, now I am done with it, unless someone finds some glaring issues.

You might also notice the little icon pop up that says the mod uses Osiris scripting - that's because I now run a little start-of-game script to handle Aylin's tags and some general setup, so she gets tagged as an aasimar in dialogues no matter what race you pick to play as stat-wise, and also to remove the "Baldurian" tag from her, because it just didn't make sense for her to have it. She also, like all origins, now has her own unique "Aylin"/"Really Aylin" tag. This doesn't do much. For now.

Note, since I've seen some confusion about this: there is no new dialogue or reactivity added to the game with this mod. It's all stuff that was already there. Aasimar are simply considered to fall under the "rare races" tag group, which means you'll get a bunch of these "oh, we don't see your kind around here much!" reactions and responses. You'd get the same ones if you were, say, a dragonborn or githyanki. I also don't have the power to change the game's fundamental storyline - this is mostly a cosmetic mod. I say this primarily because of the lovely person who commented to ask me what would happen when they arrived in Act 2 and if playing as Aylin meant the "real one" wasn't imprisoned anymore, which genuinely made my day but also made me vaguely sad.

Alas, no, it will all happen as it always has, no matter my personal willingness to fistfight Balthazar and Ketheric in a parking lot for that face up there. You'll just have two Aylins on screen during some segments which, yeah, is kind of immersion-breaking, but is also honestly a win in my books.

Also redone: her starting equipment! Again, since other origin characters have their own personalised sets, I thought it fitting to have Aylin start with the Vengeance Paladin equipment, except the warhammer is replaced with a greatsword. She also gets a bag with her iconic armour safely stowed away (primarily so that the helmet doesn't interfere with customising her hair in the character creator). It's got the stats of basic plate and no special abilities - it's mostly there for cosmetic purposes.

I also thought she should have a little souvenir.

Wings Unlocked over on mod.io is a nice and simple and noninvasive way I've found to have wings you can turn on and off, aasimar style. This is accomplished by making them an item and equipping them in the underwear slot. You know, truly putting the ass in aasimar.

As a final little starting inventory tidbit, I decided there wasn't enough gay yearning in the game, so I made sure to sprinkle some more in there - while also figuring out the letters/books system. This is something that's probably way too wordy to actually be an in-game text, but I saw a chance to have a bit of fun and I took it.

what's your opinion on miraculous ladybug?

i consider ML to be kinda a hot mess of a show, it's a show with a lot of cool ideas, but for one reason or another, never quite makes a lot of them work

it's desire to be story focused gets held down a lot because it also needs to be mostly episodic, so events feel like they happen at a snail's pace until s5 where they clearly slammed on the gas because they thought the show was over.

you can tell stuff gets retconned as they go along and that some elements are underdeveloped. Not to mention the elements that are dropped entirely or never touched on.

the show is basically at a constant war with itself, it's got potential but doesn't seem to have the best priorities, especially when it gets more story focused. You can only drag out the romance for so long before it stops being fun, meanwhile you want lila to be your next big bad but she basically vanishes for a decent chunk of the show for example so there's not nearly as much setup as they could of given to make people more compelled in her as one.

and there's more then that, putting what happened with chloe aside, Zoe could be a potentially interesting character if they explored her relationship with her sister more or even with other cast members to get to know her better.

But she's in very little episodes, there's not nearly as much to say about her, and she's given a miraculous so quickly that it all feels like it's there to be a slap to chloe rather then building up a new fleshed out superhero character . That's just an example of not handled well ideas.

so many ideas are good on paper, not handled well in execution.

now that's not to say there's nothing good in it, on occasion, this show can make some good episodes, i loved the paris special, the movie was decent, and the premise of the show is genuinely pretty cool with the kwamis and animal superpowers.

i like a lot of the cast members, kagami, felix, luka, juleka, Nathanial, ect ect

the show can make some great villain and hero costumes

but the show as a whole is still mostly a mess, that even it's highlights aren't enough to save it if you watch it as a complete picture.

HOWEVER, i find the show to usually be an enjoyable hot mess, i didn't go into the show expecting a serious show akin to something like owl house or gravity falls, i came in expecting a ridiculous show that went off the rails more and more as time went on and at this point i watch just to see how bad and crazy it can get. I just don't take it as seriously.

It would be cool if this show had a serious story and handled it that well but i'm in it more for the ride then i am here to be seriously invested in the plot. Even if the show does make me genuinely mad in quite a few places.

Cause this show has a lot of the same problems as like, star vs, like a LOT of the same issues. But star's downfall felt like a betrayal because it felt like the crew cared about handling these things well when you joined that it was more insulting to the audience about how little they did care.

At least ML has the benefit of not being a show i ever took too seriously, and i think that prevented me from being as angry as i could be. Doesn't mean i don't get mad at it, just means my expectations were always a bit lower from the beginning.

i'm here to see how crazy the show can and will get, and hey, maybe on occasion, get to see the team make some good stuff

then his sister ; sidony adaia tabris . shes born 6 years after kieran , so sometime during da2 [i think act 3 ? ? ? maybe ?] . shes like a carbon copy of zevran its like den's genes didnt even participate . shes a rogue , she has a wide variety of knowledge abt lizards and amphibians , and shes 15 years old during the veilguard . shes the last of their kids bcus denaris was REALLY unwell during his pregnancy [i think the blight in his system would just be harming him the entire time . makes it hard to conceive AND keep . he was soso sick] so he called it after sid . they didnt even plan for her but shes my babyyyyy

fenris and nikky adopt a tween a year after inquisition / trespasser . theyre an apostate mage on the run from their circle that collapsed , all they had were their phylactery , a grimoire they stole from their first enchanter , and a cloak to keep themselves warm . out of the two of them fenris is thee most protective abt them , even w all his turmoil abt them being a mage . theyre kind of like a mix of humorous and red hawke , but they care so so soooo much theyre really bad at not showing that they care . im naming them sylvan hawke :] honestly its fun imagining fenris being a dad same w hawke . sylv is about 18 ? during the veilguard ? or a bit older . i will figure it out

arcen and dorian have a son who is 6 years old when the veilguard takes place , his name is cylassan pavus-lavellan and he is suuuch a sweetie . his magic developed earlier than expected , which arcen chalks up to him being born a month early . hes a very energetic child with a love of griffons and dragons , as well as fantasy stories his dads , his older siblings and maevaris tell him . his dads utterly adore him and so do i hes just a BABYYYYY

but arcen and dorian ALSO have two apprentices learning magic from them ; valwen learning necromancy from dorian , and mabell learning rift magic from arcen . they have an agott and coco thing going on lolol i need to dev both of them more but i love them . valwen is definitely taking after arcen , and mabell is taking after dorian . both of them are kind of adapting their mannerisms like sponges . she/her for valwen , she/they for mabell ^_^

and then finally in the maxciene worldstate : anna theirin-cousland , born two years after awakening , and one year before maxciene's bastard . she takes the most after alistair personality wise , but looks like a copy of maxciene aside from her eyes . she does nottttt like her mom , nor does she want the throne . bcus maxciene has made it blatantly obvious she had her to keep the throne . maxciene my favorite problematic milf . umm she harbors grudges like no other , she has a lot of pent of anger [alistair is teaching her how to handle it . mostly w using a sword] , and she wishes to be someone elses daughter . ^_^

Are you named after anyone?

"...No..? I don't think so. It's not worth going back to my family just to ask them that. The dead gods know I already can't stand them as is."

When was the last time you cried?

"I don't think I could say the last... time... I've cried. But as much near-death experiences and hell we go through, I think I've always handled it the worst. Maybe because I can't see the threat, I hold this higher sense of danger, and it just sort of... eats away at me from time to time. So I cry from being overwhelmed sometimes."

Do you have kids?

"Eh, no. I don't think I plan too either, not as of now."

Do you use sarcasm a lot?

"Sometimes. Dusk and Dawn are always so serious. A strategist and a commander? If I don't crack a joke or use some sarcasm, they're gonna become heartless. Maybe not, but you know what I mean."

What’s the first thing you notice about people?

"Their voice. What did you expect me to say? 'Their eyes'? No, but really, I pay attention to people's voices a lot, tells me a lot about their character."

What’s your eye colour?

*5 straight minutes of laughter* "Oh, that's a good one... Oh, you're serious? I don't even know what colours look like! I've been told they're purple, and that purple is unnatural eye colour. But I don't know what purple is! Or what a normal eye colour is!"

Scary movies or happy endings?

*Another minute of laughter* "You must not have written these with the thought of asking a blind person, did you? While technically I can watch movies, it isn't really the same. But as for scary stories and happy endings... scary stories are way more fun."

Any special talents?

"Well, I'm blind--That's not the talent by the way--see, despite being blind I can kind of... I can sense gravity. It's hard to explain, but think of it like this: Dusk can make light, Dawn can... do whatever it is she does with shadows, I... can sense gravity. Along with a few other things of course. I guess I also a have good balance and hearing. But I don't know if its better than the average person."

Where were you born?

"North City. Okay... well... I wasn't born in my family home. Okay, so my family's house was very close to the Titan Family's main building (in north city at least). Because of this, there was a tunnel connecting them for medical emergencies. My mother went into labour and... didn't make it. So, technically, I was born in an underground tunnel between my home and the Titan Family's main building."

Do you have any pets?

"My family was on the border of being considered rich. So we did have a cat, a real cat, while I was growing up. I don't know how those things still exist today seeing how many other animals went extinct."

What sort of sports do you play?

"I didn't really play any sports."

How tall are you?

"I don't know, can't really check. I've only been told, but last that I remember... 180 centimetres? Somewhere around there if that's not it."

What was your favourite subject in school?

"Ooo... art. No, I'm joking, I'm joking. Uh... probably music. Oh, maybe history, but only when they talked about myths and legends and stuff like that. Mostly music. I can play a few instruments, should I have said that in the talents section? I probably should have."

What is your dream job?

"Dream job... hmmm... I'm not sure. Out of the main trio, between me, Dusk, and Dawn... I'm the odd one out. Both of them both want revenge and to take down the families, and I don't really. I just want to help people, but as for a dream job... ... ...I guess, if it can be anything, some kind of artist. Preferably also with the ability to see what I'm painting or sculpting, or whatever it is I would do."

I feel like for a while now I’ve had this weird sinking feeling

So I’m finally an adult. That was fun.

Weirdly enough I’m not bummed about my birthday not being anything special this year. Weirdly the real thing that bummed me out was feeling like there’s a possibility that I was right about this sinking feeling I’ve been having and I don’t know how to feel.

To the void thats reading this… if you have read my other diary posts you might be aware of the fact that about a year or 2 ago I had this falling out with a best friend of mine. Eventually I decided to reach out and maybe set things right. We started talking again and to some extent realized that the whole situation was dumb and we both could’ve handled it better. And now we’re at a point where we both consider each other best friends again.

For a while things felt… good and back to normal in a way. And then college started and at some point I started having this weird feeling.

Another thing to add, when we became friends again, his friends were not fully aware of it at the time. Mostly because after we stopped talking ofc he talked about it to his other friends and expressed his sadness and his emotions about feeling like he wasn’t the kinda person I said he was and feeling like he’d been perceived differently than who he actually was. Ofc after hearing so much about it they’d be weary of the idea of us rekindling our friendship again. And thats justified, I’d probably react the same way.

Another thing to add is that a lot of this sinking feeling I’ve had and am gonna explain is based on the observation of my friend’s instagram profile. Which I know social media doesn’t reflect everything, but I also believe the way somebody posts and especially who they include in their posts may say something about how they feel about the people around them.

I started noticing something, most of the people that kept up with him through Instagram, would never notice that we became friends again unless they noticed that we followed each other again. (Or the fact that I’ll sometimes comment on his posts.)

Also one more thing to add (I am so sorry) so, he has 3 different instagram accounts, 2 for just pictures of him and one private account which posts more about friends and has more candid images. I noticed that the private account does not actually follow me. Maybe it’s a coincidence or a mistake but it’s weird cuz I JUST noticed. But yea remember this third account.

On his private account he posts more stuff related to his daily stuff, like if he goes out and hangs out somewhere with his friends he will post a picture with them. I started noticing that he would never post anything related to me, as if we never even started talking again. But not like we took a lot of pictures together…… or not like he prompted to take those pictures anyway…

I assumed that maybe he only takes and posts group pictures, thats not the case either, he’s posted pictures with just one other person before. The last time I ever appeared on his profile was more than a year ago, much before the big fallout between us.

And ofc at first his friends had no clue about us being friends again and they were maybe sometimes protective or defensive about the idea but like in a month it’s gonna be a year since we started talking again. And at best we considered eachother best friends again. It wouldn’t be so foreign for his friends to accept that things changed and we worked things out, what was stopping him to even acknowledge that?

I know that sounds entitled, I’m well aware, but I don’t think I would feel this if he hadn’t set this standard already. It’s not like he avoided posting his friends.

At some point I had this feeling at the back of my mind that he was embarrassed to admit being my best friend to other people. But I brushed it off cuz no way right?

Every time somebody he knew’s birthday came, he’d post little happy birthday stories about them. My birthday came along, I’m his best friend, he’d have something to post on his stories or something to say right? Surely he wouldn’t just message me and wish me there and thats it right?

That was kinda it tho. He messaged me happy birthday and that was it… we hung out together for the day too and part of it was fun, at the start atleast, eventually things got quieter, we got to this one recurring stage throughout most of our hangouts where somebody would call him and he’d just talk to that person on the phone for like a good 15 minutes while I sit there saying nothing, we walked for sometime and then there was some silence and he started texting somebody else, by the end of the hangout he was already talking to somebody to go hang out with them after me. And like for some reason I believe that he is embarrassed to be my friend… And for some reason the lack of the birthday story somehow made me feel like I might be right. I know I sound so stupid and probably sound a little bit entitled but like idk it’s just, sometimes you expect more…

It’s so weird cuz it really is bothering me but I don’t wanna do anything about it or like confront that part of my emotions to him. I don’t wanna feel like the reason we stop talking again.

Part of me hopes that maybe if I’m right he’ll slowly just forget about me and I’d probably still be sad but atleast I wouldn’t feel like I took a step too quickly or I made a wrong assumption again. I just kinda wish I didn’t have a reason to think that my gut feeling may have been correct.

In therapy, within the last month, but otherwise, I try far too hard not to cry, and rarely do. I used to say that in a bragging sort of way, but since growing up a bit, I have realized it is mostly just from being emotionally stunted.

Yes, a seven-year-old girl and a four-year-old boy. 💕

I mean… their appearance? But not in a shallow way? 🤣🤣 Like some of you have said — body language, expressions, general overall vibe. Apparently “childhood trauma gave me hypervigilance”. 🙄

I cannot handle anything even remotely intense or scary. Like, the emperor electrocuting Luke in the Star Wars movies still makes me squirm. So ALL THE HAPPY ENDINGS. I’m 34 years old and I think I enjoyed the new Super Mario movie more than anyone else in my family, kids included. 🤣

Any special talents?

Hmm. I’m trying to think of things other than writing, ADHD, public speaking, photography… SO, I have a particular “IDGAF” attitude when it comes to hairstyles and tattoos, where I would do pretty much anything for fun or if I liked it. I’ve had a mullet (and not the fashionable kind), a pixie, waist-length, a rat tail, and everything in between. The tattoos need a bit more thought because they’re $$$. 🥴 But my hubby and I have jokingly named my thighs Justice and Redemption, and I’d like to hide some tattoos of those names on each one, and some kind of joke, using lord of the rings lines from the mines/gates of Moria for my nether-yaeya……. You get the gist. I have serious and meaningful and artistic tattoos, on me and on the docket, but those are some examples of the fun ones.😂 I also am a white water raft guide, and I seem to have the ability to smile and laugh in virtually any situation (birth, medical emergencies, probably funerals if I went), but again, therapy has ruined that by calling it “masking” 🤣🤣🤣 OH — one more — I always have to leave a place cleaner than I found it. When we’d go drinking in college, I’d sometimes disappear for a while because I was cleaning the bar bathroom counter. Same with parks or anywhere else… I have to pick up the trash I see. 💕 ENNEAGRAM 1 PROBLEMS, best summarized by this gorgeous song by Sleeping At Last.

Oh, I guess here is where I can mention the regular stuff up above. 🤣 I really love writing, spending meaningful time with Jesus, and spending time in nature just being completely present and delighting in every leaf, bug, etc… And as cheesy as it sounds, I love having fun with my husband. We really are best friends, to the point where we will sometimes stay up way too late at night just because we are having so much fun talking about nothing and everything. 🥹

Have any pets?

A bulldog-border collie mix dog named Teddy, a bearded dragon named Jabba, and usually something else like a blue belly lizard or tadpoles or whatever the kids find and want to bring home. I really want to get some kind of parrot like an African gray, or if I ever found an abandoned baby raven, that would be incredible. 🤓 I would totally have a few cats, but the husband is allergic.

What sports do/have you played?

I am not a land athlete… When it comes to things like agility or speed. I am, however, an excellent swimmer, and did swim team from age 4 through college, and I am also very strong and sturdy, so I enjoy lifting heavy weights. 🤓

How tall are you?

5‘10“, or 177cm 😘 And yes, I played basketball for a few years, but only because I went to a tiny school and they needed someone on the girls team to stand underneath the basket with their arms over their head like an intimidating ogre who might occasionally get a rebound.

Favorite subject at school?

ENGLISH!! Reading, analyzing, writing… Also theater, because I thought I was going to be an actress until I got old enough (read: 22) and realized I was TERRIBLE. 🤣 apparently a bubbly, charismatic personality doesn’t necessarily translate to acting skills. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Dream job?

Honestly, I don’t think I even know. As a child, I wanted to be everything from a marine biologist to an actress to a vet to a dolphin trainer to an astronomer. I have always thought it would be fun to be a personal assistant to some high-powered CEO or something where my only job was to plan all of the travel and meetings, and get to go around the world that way, but none of the actual responsibilities of the company fall to me. Just simple organization and frequent travel. 😂 Also a food critic. 🤭 Or a stunt woman.

Apparently the jury is still out.

But the cool thing is that I absolutely love my job. I loved teaching in the classroom, and now getting to do my work from home while I enjoy my kids’ childhood is absolutely amazing. We are at a water park for two days, and I am sending emails and answering questions about online classes while I sit in a lounge chair with my feet in the water. God has been so incredibly kind and gracious to me, SOOOOO far beyond what I deserve or could even fathom. 🥹

Yugioh Pretty Litttle Liars Style Chapter 2

Suffered from writer's block for a while hence why I did not update this sooner. 

Jaden sighs as he sits down at a table he reserved for himself and the others. Starbucks is and had always been their favourite hangout when their darling leader Yami was still alive. Heck, most of their scheming took place in this very same spot. One particular conversation brings back fun memories for Jaden in particular, one that the others are unaware of.

FLASHBACK

"Man this latte gives me life man." says Jaden as he sips some of his special chocolate latte.

Yami rolled his eyes. "Continue like that and you'll get fat." he teased. Jaden's eyes widened in horror at that. "HELL NO!!" Yami snorts with laughter.

"Oh chillex. I was just kidding bruh." he says. Jaden nods. "Right." he replies sarcastically as he sips some more latte. Yami sighs. "Anyhow Jay, I called you here to speak to you in private."

Jaden raises an eyebrow. "Uhm...why just me?' Yami leans closer to him, eyes baring into Jaden's soul. "Isn't it obvious Jay?" The leader's tone takes on a more seductive tone.  He then whispers, "Out of all the others, you are my favourite." Jaden blushes at this. "R-Really?" Yami nods. "If you were not my favourite, then why is it that I entrust you with all my secrets?" Jaden smiles. "You're right."

END OF FLASHBACK

Jaden is so lost in his thoughts that he does not notice when the others walk in. "Hello!!Earth to Jaden!!" says Yuma as he waves his hand over Jaden's face. Jaden laughs and gets up. "Hey Yuma!! Hey guys!!" All four of them hug each other and take their seats. "Man, this brings back memories." says Yusei. "He is clearly doing this on purpose!" says Yuya, pointing a finger at Jaden who raises his hands.

"Hey, it was just a happy coincidence y'all!!" They all laughed. "I think it's best we order some stuff right?" says Yusei. "I will handle this." Yuma announces as he jumps up from his seat, earning giggles from Yuya. "The usuals?" The others nodded. Soon Yuma bounces off to the counter and orders drinks for them. "I still find it funny that we managed to get in here in one piece." says Yuya. "Agreed." Yusei replies. 

"Still though Jay, how have you been coping? I mean, we do know that you and Yami had a little something going on." says Yuya. Jaden glares at him. "Wait, you guys knew?" Yuma snorts with laughter as he sets the drinks down. "Could you two be that more obivous? Besides, I saw you two smooching at Alex's party." he says. Jaden shakes his head. Of course, why did he not think that they would know.

"Anyhow, right to this subject about this Y person." says Yuma. "Already Yuma, you are hitting the nail on the head." says Yusei as he sips some black coffee. Jaden chuckles. "That's Yuu for you." says Jaden. Yuma shrugs. "Still, he is right. This is a very important issue when you think about. I mean, some random dude or dudette stalking us? Now that's scary." says Yuma.

Jaden nods. "The question here is not just about who it is. But also why the person is doing this." he says. "I have a bad feeling I may know why." says Yuma. The others stare at him. "Why?" said Yusei. "Possibly to get back at Yami or something." says Yuma.

Jaden raises his eyebrows. "But last we checked, Yami is actually dead. So it may not be revenge against Yami." he says. "He kinda has a point though because what if that same person murdered Yami and has been trying to get to us the entire time?' says Yuya. They all exchanged terrified glares. "Oh crap."

Elsewhere in Domino City, Yugi sits alone on his bed, hugging his teddy. Besides Jaden, he has yet to accept Yami's death considering that Yami is his big brother and was always around to protect him from bullies. But now that Yami is gone, he is all alone without any support or friends. "Why brother? Why did you have to go?' he whines, tears spilling out of his eyes. Although he still goes to school,  he keeps to himself mostly and rarely speaks to anyone, well anyone except Jaden that is as Anzu his best friend has moved out of town. Jaden is the one guy that he trusts and talks to.

At that moment, his phone buzzes. Yugi growls in irritation. "Who could be disturbing me now?!" he yells. He reaches for the phone and checks it. He gasps as soon as he sees the text which says:

Sweet baby Yugi,

You may appear innocent 

But you are just as much of a devil

As a certain someone you look up to,

          -Y

Yugi frowns. "Man I don't like the sound of this one bit."

The next day, all four Liars arrive at school, earning loads of shocked reactions from others as no one expected the foursome to reunite talkless of turning up at school. The foursome ignore the others despite feeling completely uneasy and self conscious due to the presence of Y and other things. "Talk about a lovely surprise." They stop in their tracks as Chazz Princeton walks over to them flanked by his gang of cronies. 

Jaden folds his arms. "What exactly do you want Chazz?" Jaden asked. Chazz simply tilts his head. "Isn't it obvious? I intend to settle old scores Yuki?" Jaden rolled his eyes and takes off his glasses. "Look, I ain't got time for you." He simply walks past the guy with the others behind him. "Who is that?" Yusei whispered. Jaden sighs. "My annoying ex. The idiot wants to have a piece of my ass but nah." Yuma snorts. "Really?" He then looks at the guy uncertainly. 

Jaden nods. Yugi meanwhile walks along the hallway alone. No one looks towards his direction and he would rather keep that way. Jaden spots Yugi and yells, "Hey Yug!!" Yugi looks up and smiles upon seeing Jaden and the others. "Guys!!" he squeals and runs over to them and hugs Jaden. "Oh dear Yug, what has happened to you kiddo?" Yusei asked, voice filled with concern. Yugi pouts. 'I..I have been lonely." The others pitied the kid. "We need to help the kid man." says Yuma. Jaden nods. Hopefully Y won't attack the kid. The gang do not notice a hooded figure watching them. "Finally all the dolls are gathering in the dollhouse. Remaining one more."

Yes I had to drag Yugi into this mess and you will understand how crucial Yugi is to this story later. Yes Yugi is one of the liars officially. Remains one more person who would come as a surprise to you guys.

2023 Cdrama roundup

What I watched in reverse chronological order, mostly.

Under the cut: 11 historical costume dramas, 5 fantasy dramas and a handful of others that I started but haven't finished yet.

Historical costume dramas

A Journey To Love (2023, IQIYI) Delicious beginning, strong middle, sort of fell apart for me toward the end as the focus shifted to siege warfare and succession politics. WTF was that epilogue, even. My Journey to You (2023, IQIYI) My winner for 2023. Visually transcendent, twisty storyline, amazing cast, glorious costuming; this was the whole package of everything I love. I was saving this one up as a special treat and it did not disappoint me. Story of Kunning Palace (2023, IQIYI) I liked it but it didn't hit for me emotionally how I thought it would. Still, very pretty, lots of enjoyable scheming and palace drama, and Bai Lu as Jiang Xuening was great. Mysterious Lotus Casebook (2023, IQIYI) This was the one I gave in and subscribed for. Alas, the Venn diagram of what I got out of this one and what the rest of tumblr got out of it barely overlaps. It was entertaining but did not consume me; possibly the subversions of the usual dudes in the jianghu tropes were lost of me because I am not a great enthusiast of dudes in the jianghu. Loved Li Lianhua's hairpins though. Jun Jiu Ling (2021, Viki) Must a drama be technically good? Is it not enough to have a great script and an excellent cast and let your leads get a bit goofy with the romance? Where is the petition for Jin Han to be given romantic lead roles in costume dramas forever? Twisted Fate of Love (2020, Viki) No, seriously, where is the petition. Stop hogging Jin Han's time with contemporary dramas! I don't care about contemporaries! Ironically I came to this one off the back of Lost You Forever, because it also has Tan Jianci in it, but again with ruining a great actor by casting him as a dutiful prince character of boredom. Let the dudes smoulder, please! So I came out of this wanting more Jin Han smouldering and hence went on to Jun Jiu Ling. Come to think of it, possibly another reason I found Kunning Palace underwhelming was because I'd recently watched Twisted Fate of Love, and I think Twisted Fate of Love did it better. Best non-2023 drama I watched this year. Would rewatch again and again. The Legend of Anle (2023, Viki) I think the problem is since I've seen Word of Honor, every other Gong Jun role is a disappointment. I really like him tender, lovestruck and mischievous. (And Xiao Zhan, I have the same complaint to make about The Longest Promise.) Instead his character in this drama has all the appeal of a bowl of cold porridge. The most fun I had was with Anle and the princess - the rest of the drama felt like a paint by numbers exercise executed with the least possible amount of love. I wrote drawerfic to purge my feelings of betrayal over how the story handled a certain spoiler. Also, Anle was hot with white hair and they should have let her keep it. New Life Begins (2022, Viki) Hello the feel-good feminist solidarity palace drama of my heart. My crops were watered, my skin cleared and my heart lifted. The Heart of Jade/Heart of Loyalty (2021, Viki) Loveable urchin is adopted into Ye Olde cdrama cops, solves crime with serious older partner (opposites attract!). Slightly better made than Jun Jiu Ling, engaging story and cast, not so much comedy but lots of heart. I’ve Fallen For You (2020, IQIYI) Incredibly stupid and very sweet. I loved it but alas it got gradually fractionally less stupid and a bit more dramatic towards the end. I know the older couple's romance was played for laughs but also good for them? Fall In Love (2021, Viki) I am tacking this one on to the historical costume dramas because technically it is one, it's just the historical period is the republican era. Anyway, blazing sexual tension between leads and finishing up with a little joining the glorious communist revolution, as a treat. Must remember to finish writing that PWP I have outlined for it at some point.

Fantasy dramas

The Ghost Bride (2020, Netflix) Deserved much more budget than it apparently got, but they did their best with what they had and I respect that. FL's BFF who got like a whole two minutes total of screen time if she was lucky is my new celebrity crush. Please cast her in more things. The Longest Promise (2023, Netflix) Visually stunning, great costumes, nonsense storyline only saved by a majority-awesome main cast, and a truly godawful main romance. As far as I can tell, Xiao Zhan is just there to supply a warm body where the ML should be and something acceptable to rest one's eyes on. Again, the fact that I first saw him in a role in which he was animated, cheeky and apparently having fun has ruined my ability to appreciate him in stoic, dutiful roles. I kept watching for the FL and to see if the 2ML would get less doomed. Back From the Brink (2023, Viki) Beautiful visuals, excellent female lead, great comedy value in between the blood feuding and violence. Honestly I am mostly watching cdramas of all kinds for the female leads, the beautiful visuals and the laughs, so even though I felt it dragged at times and the storyline gave me occasional conniptions, I enjoyed it. The Starry Love (2023, Viki) YEA BOY! This one was fun, would watch again. It's on the very short list of dramas with weddings that don't go horribly wrong part way through (pro-tip: never plan to hold a wedding in a cdrama, it's got to be 100% spontaneous or someone will get stabbed) Till the End of the Moon (2023, Viki) My initial impression of this one was it seemed to have a lot of suffering for the grimdark sake of it, but it had cute and funny moments too. There was a lot going on throughout, so much so that I could have watched another 20 episodes probably and not complained it was too long. Would watch again, especially all the parts with Pian Ran.

Dramas I started but haven't finished yet

Flavour, It's Yours/Instead of Tipsy Why Not Get Drunk (2019, Viki) Picked up because Gong Jun was fun in Word of Honor, stayed for the wine, weirdly. Put it down because I am not feeling the romance. Our heroine needs a million dollars and all her life problems solved, but I don't believe she needs a boyfriend. Lost You Forever S1 (2023, Viki) Stopped at ep 31 not because I didn't like it but because I like it so much and there will be a season 2 and I want to be able to breeze through whatever emotional hell awaits at the end of season 1 straight into season 2, box of tissues in hand. Would watch again, repeatedly. Odds on for my favourite drama of 2024. Love is Sweet (2020, IQIYI) I had the subscription so I thought I would check it out. Contemporary settings are not my friend, but I stuck with it, and the makeout session in the hallway was super hot, but sadly the main romance went downhill from there and hence I bailed at ep 25. Imperial Doctress (2016, some random Youtube channel) This is not A Journey to Love and I can't believe it took me 7 episodes to stop and question it properly. I might come back and finish watching it though. Or not. In my disappointment I resubscribed to watch the actual A Journey to Love. Mr Bad (2022, Viki/IQIYI) Stopped watching this one midway in order to watch more costume dramas (I have priorities). The Blood of Youth (2022, Viki) I will probably come back to it eventually but I stopped watching this to watch more dramas with female leads (again with my priorities) Love is an Accident (2023, IQYI) Subscription ran out before I got to the end, other priorities took over when I renewed the subscription, but I was enjoying it and will be picking it back up now.

I have an evil suit question for you. Do you think the suit would adapt to the consequences of Stede's indulgences? How magic is it? Or is it a very basic curse?

well the fic itself will be a oneshot so i don’t know if i’ll explore all the delightful possibilities in it. currently the plan is that at some point the suit is removed for some reason because the affliction will not last for the rest of stede’s life lol, and the suit not being able to handle stede’s appetites would be such a fun way to conclude the curse.

on the one hand, if the suit is making desires and impulses impossible to ignore and turning its wearers into unabashed hedonists, it’s probably encountered gluttony before and survived, and theoretically it would be a good idea for the suit to be built to withstand the consequences of its own magic. i mean, sex is an impulse and suits are sets of clothing, and clothing usually comes off during sex, so presumably the suit has some sort of ability to convince people to keep wearing it, and an ability to adapt to the consequences of its magic seems to fit into that category. plus it’s sort of hot to think of what might happen if the effects of this curse were combined with stede not needing to worry about the fit of his clothes…

at the same time it would be SO juicy to imagine that stede’s gluttony surpasses anything the suit is prepared for and the suit itself becomes its own downfall because stede’s appetites are so voracious that not even a suit cursed to make its wearer fall prey to their own pleasure drive can handle what comes of those affects being applied to him.

he’s special, lol. so much of a glutton the hedonism curse suit breaks. plus i find it a thematically appropriate and fun end to the curse. which, side-note, the fun won’t just end when the curse goes away, so don’t worry about any of that, haha.

i’ll be picking one over the other in the fic but in the AU generally i can imagine all sorts of different options.

also worth noting that in the fic while stede absolutely will be doing a lot of stuffing himself and i’ve thought a lot about maybe including a little bit of supernatural weight gain… stede’s appetites being so insatiable in part because he’s digesting things a little quicker than he otherwise would and also, the calories he’s consuming are going directly to his body… a major part of the fic will also be related to stede’s urge to stuff/fatten up certain other pirates, too.

in the end it’s mostly a shame i only have the energy to write a oneshot about it at the moment between trying to get new chapters of my WIPs done, because there’s so much to explore with that concept and i probably won’t be able to take it as far as i wish i could.

i think it comes naturally with the territory of having my particular media interests. OR maybe my brain is just wired in a special way and it's not as natural as i think. i dont knowHBDSFMJ

I MEAN OKAY the most barebones, un-entertaining logistical answer is: as someone who is a big fan of the rwby milfs i necessarily end up with a lot of rarepairs on my hands because the pool of characters i choose from is already chock-full of rares who have minimal or no interactions w each other. but that mostly accounts for my one-off "huh that's neat" posts that i don't really pursue further (certainly not to the point of. umm. how many words is TCaBS now)

the second tier is of course that i just think it's fun. right. it's fun to come up with ways to execute something like that and it's fun to see what other people think of it. it's not always very deep sometimes it's just a fun prompt challenge or experiment. it doesn't take a lot of effort to think of these ideas because this play is very intuitive to me, so a lot of the time i'm just in my little playpen and it produces fanworks that you can also see

the third layer of the answer is the storyteller instinct (lol) and where it really starts burrowing into my brain. that's when there's character to dig into. bc i LOVE doing character stuff and figuring out how 2 weirdos would interact and what would ripple out from that…

Raven/Willow and Summer/Salem are great examples of this to be sure. definitely rarepairs that have STUCK with me and ive gotten INVESTED in making fanworks for. this is because i find their characters complement each other very well and create interesting stories just by simply pairing them together… i've already talked At Great Length (and could easily talk for Another Great Length) about summer and salem's relationship specifically in the context of my art of them, and there's something like it going on with blackswan too--

the type of narrative relationship that they have… raven and willow are sort of mirror characters to each other too. both are absent mothers to the primary characters, who vanished from their positions after being knifed in the back by someone they loved (raven was let down by team strq when she needed them most; willow's husband finally tells her that her entire life is a stageplay farce) - both of them are totally checked out from their family and reclusive - both of them are inclined to drink (overt with willow obviously drinking on screen, more subtle with raven strewing bottles all around her tent) - neither is recognizable to their daughters as the same person they were before breaking, and reuniting with the woman who vanished is still a resolution hanging over us - a great deal of emotional real estate is vested in them despite having relatively scarce screentime, right? they're both very interesting characters in their own right and it made me hop around like a little goblin that RT gave me a pair of mirrors who Do Not Know Each Other's Existence (well, that's not necessarily entirely true; raven might know willow EXISTS on account of roughly knowing the schnee family roster since theyre . kinda famous. but even that would be one way and sort of Conceptual rather than personal lol)

the way they handle their problems is different, as is their overall strategy for engaging with the world. but those differences ultimately highlight their similarities too, and the end product is that its only more interesting to try and imagine how they would function as a pair, sharing so many of the same wounds but coping with them differently. could they condemn each other? are they used to not being condemned? TCaBS is at least partially about willow being the only bitch in the world who looks at raven and goes "no i get it", you know? i'm into that kind of thing--this is ALL OVER the summer/salem fanworks too--and any type of interesting dynamic like that is what really gets me into making works to explore it…

i'm using raven/willow as an example here just to demonstrate the line of thinking i had particular to that ship of course. there's a lot of various dynamics in the world that you can easily spin up by picking two or more rwby milfs and pushing them together. it's just one example but that's sort of how my brain works with this stuff in general. i don't really ever think about if the characters have a defined relationship in canon or not. i just think about what would be interesting or complementary… i'm following my heart!!!!!! playing in my playpen!!

this is a long post just to say pretty much it's largely that i operate without thinking about things like "rarepair" or "crackship". i just go "look at my ships boy" and post something ludicrous that still somehow sells people on it. amen

Hello my love!!!!!!

Oh gosh, a summer camp au for summer camp au royalty... No pressure! /lh

Okay I'm basing this roughly off a day camp I went to for a few summers when I was younger, so hopefully it makes sense?

Ray and Rose own and run a kids day camp. Ray mostly handles the admin stuff and Rose does the people and kids stuff. They mightttt have met in college and both wanted to do the same thing and decided to team up, decided they should get legally married cause it would make it way easier to buy the property together, and then fallen for each other as they built the camp.

They had a little wedding ceremony about a year after the camp opened. Everyone was kinda confused cause they either thought they were already married or were confused by the lack of paperwork and an actual person who could legally marry them(Their friend Trevor did the ceremony. The guy is many things but he didn't really have the license for that and it didn't matter).

So the Molinas live at the camp year-round, they have a house on one side of the huge property. Julie and Carlos would mostly be campers in the summer, and Julie started working as a counselor in training (a CIT) once she aged out. Carlos still has a year or two until that happens.

They also rent out various spaces around the camp for events and retreats and stuff during the off-season as well.

Alex came to this camp for a few weeks every summer with a group from his church and always loved it. He stopped going to church after coming out cause... stuff. But the camp still held a special place in his heart, so when he was looking for a summer job and noticed stuff on the camp website about them being LGBTQ+ friendly, he applied to be a counselor.

Reggie really needed a summer job, Luke's mom was demanding he get out of the house or Bobby's garage sometime, and Bobby just wanted to spend the summer with his friends, so they all applied too.

Willie came a few times in middle school when they started doing horse camp, cause it was fun and way easier to ride out in the woods than in LA. They wanted a good summer, so they applied to work with the horses as a riding instructor.

The groups of kids are put with a counselor and a CIT for the week, mostly grouped by age. Julie ends up being Reggie's CIT and they basically switch roles cause she knows the camp better and he's better one on one with the kids that are having a hard time.

Bobby is startled to discover that the Molinas who run the camp are also his dad's friends the Molinas. He and Julie haven't talked much in years, but they reconnect over the summer and have a great friendship!

His CIT, Flynn, is Julie's best friend and an absolute legend with the kids. They all think she's awesome. Every group has a color and Ray makes sure Flynn has the same color for large chunks of the summer cause that way she can braid colored strands into her box braids for her group and doesn't have to change them every single week.

Luke ends up helping Rose with music activities instead of counseling, which is fine by him! Rose got pretty sick a couple of years ago, so while she's mostly recovered now, her family has convinced her to stop doing literally everything herself. So Luke is her assistant for a lot of the music activities.

Alex, after a long conversation with Ray and a couple of lessons, takes one of the groups of horse camp kids. Fortunately he isn't in charge of teaching anyone to ride, just keeping them together and making sure everyone gets lunch and stuff. And the riding instructor his group usually gets paired with is really pretty...

Ray and Rose immediately notice the sparks between Alex and Willie at breakfast in the mornings and start pushing them together on purpose. They're matchmakers :D

The gang quickly bonds and spends as much time as they can hanging out. Mostly that's at breakfast before the kids arrive for the day, but they find other times to hang out in the evenings and stuff too. It doesn't take that long for them to start having regular sleepovers at the Molina's.

The camp mostly runs during the day, but there's a chance for the kids to sleep over one night per week. Technically all the counselors are supposed to stay with their groups in the big circus tent where everyone sleeps, but Rose and Ray tell the gang to go sometimes once all the kids are asleep. They can take care of the kids, let the teenagers go have some fun.

Lots of other chaos ensues but this is already really long so... I guess let me know if you want more?

A small haul of toys that I recently received. These were mostly not released this year, except for my first Blythe ever (YAY!, I am super happy with her!), but I was just recently able to get these. So, I am calling this a small toy haul, and not part of my January toy haul, which is still traveling from Japan to the USA, despite the excessively expensive shipping costs. >__>;;; I was considering yet another 30-smothing-cm BJD, but then I remembered, shipping and handling costs are freaking insane right now! I also keep hoarding acrylic stands and other small stuff that add to the size and weight of my shipments, and so I can’t afford other fun stuff, because I keep getting things I don’t need. On the other hand, I also don’t need another resin doll, now or ever, so maybe I am better off. DX

Once again, I am thrilled with my first ever Blythe doll. I wanted to go with Floating Away Dream, but for some reason, GSC Shop USA had her for 60USD more than this version, so I went and pre-ordered this one instead. I am loving her and her clothes more in person. However, I was originally thinking of customizing my first Blythe and finding possible optional tanned male doll bodies seems to be a pain in the gut. So, thought it would be easier to get the paler version, not for 60USD more though. They were the same cost from GSC shop Japan, but the shipping made them so much more expensive, so I went with pre-ordering from the USA shop instead, and that’s how I got this version. Regardless, I a super happy! She’s beautiful, and now I am thinking I might just leave her in her box to look pretty, instead of customizing her. Kind of wonder why secondhand ones, even in terrible condition are so expensive, when they are so much less expensive brand new. I am guessing it’s the “collector” status of the older ones? Now that Good Smile Company is manufacturing them, I wonder if they’ll be an increase on Takara Tomy versions... 

I am also super glad to finally have received my TOM pre-order of Banpresto Final Season Eren, now I ca unbox the one I got pre-owned (MISB) one. Also got a Nanana surprice from Amazn; I was so excited thinking it was CJ Cuddles, due to the sticker. Unfortunately, it was Britney Sparkles, who is gorgeous, but I only want four of them and she is not one of them. She’s still super cute and I am glad to keep her, but I wish they weren’t a royal pain in the gut to get in store, so I could get the ones I actually want! Now that they don’t have that terrible (to me) printed texture. Also got more HeyDoll Kiki & Tata Yogurt candies! I am glad to see they are totally random, and you don’t get more Kiki than Tata necessarily! I got three Tata this time. Now I just need three Kiki and one more Tata! I got the special Tata, which I thought I didn’t want, but she’s super cool IRL. Finally, I am now the proud owner of the two version of the 10th Anniversary Pettit Chara Land Sasuke Uchiha, the one in the red yukata! I’m super happy with this tiny, tiny haul! (:
