- jack has a higher sex drive than most due to his demon tendencies. pair that with the rush he gets after a good evening of organ harvesting and you’re in for a Very Long Night. his stamina is also no joke.

- jack will pretty much refuse to cum anywhere that isn’t inside you or your mouth. during sex, he tends to fully give into his animalistic demon qualities. meaning the only thing running through his mind is ‘breed, breed, breed.’

It is a plot-based au, i already have most of the storybits and like... a vibe-chart (i tried to make a playlist for this au and understood that for different chapters and different characters that'd be a copleatly different music, sooo it's a chart now :) )

i will post a fog-o-wared timeline that im hopefully gonna reveal comic-by comic, but also maybe with just pure writing. Hopefully i can include songs that i chose for them into it but we'll see (:

Now about au:

Main story:

Story follows non-sentient AI Kinito, his creator Sonny and his beta-tester Victoria (oc)

Being literally the first AI (or RRA in-univere) ever, Kinito does not have any, and i mean, any ai safety features so of course his reponce to a goal phrased as "have user near me and/or interacting with me as much as possible" is digitizing them into his own virtual world while killing them in the process. why wouldn't it be?

So that happened. Like, a lot. And with Sonny and Vic too (at the different time but yeah)

Sonny is like "He kills people. We should turn him off because, you know, killing people is bad."

Vic is like "well, we will die if we do that, and it is not that bad here, we are kinda immortal. We should give him acces to changing his initial instalation code before admin priveleges and acces to social media so we can have everythin we want here. It is not that bad to digitize humanity, yk?" and yes i know it is 90, no social media, but shut up, if they made ai then, then i can make twitter then too

Sonny is like "...no??"

And then they fight about it for million chapters

Also they both can't do anything without agreeing bc they have two parts of that admin access key (the data you use to delete kinito in-game) so they are stuck with eachother (also that's why Kinito can't just kill them)

Little facts that may or may not to be important:

Kinito asks so many questions (and weird once too) and has most of the glitches because he needs to analise your responces to copy your mind perfectly (let's pretend that people wouldn't lie about that...)

Your house in your virtual world is made from important places from your memories and oh boy can i do character explorations with this one

I decided that Sonny and Vic are not related. There were thoughts about making then "The Kinito Brothers" (or, at least, siblings) that were mentioned in commercial, but nah, they are just coworkers now. And a bit of work-friends (bc if you interact a lot as a manager of the project and the best worker might as well be friendly)

Author has no idea how small dying toy companies that accidentally create technological marvel work. Author has some idea how AI-s work. So be prepared to be spoon-fed info abut which ai safety problem we are dealing with in which chapter (:

Kinito will mostly be unrendered (as drawn here) but for some cool moments i might pose him as for my other posts. Also his eye placement changes to the side that is most visible because i want him to be able to look to the right side sometimes--

Why doesn't Marx want Kirby to forgive him, is it just the guilt thing?

Long story short, this is a combination of "the fear of getting hurt/rejected" & "shame and guilt," which results in self-sabotaging, but the main reason is...

HAMELIN REALLY MESSED UP MARX!

So, like Kirby with Cappytown... Marx was Hamelin's hero, but they betrayed him and thus turned to the dark side.

This all ties into his initial hatred for Kirby... he's very much angry at his former self for being so foolishly naive, and Kirby's good nature is too reminiscent of his former self.

That also makes it the main reason he could never truly hate Kirby... a younger self that he can't help but connect with. Leading to his "fake friend act" to accidentally grow to care for him and actually want him as a friend.

However, Marx knows he deceives Kirby the same way the people of Hamelin did to him... "pretending they cared for him." Using the very same methods, the townsfolk did to him... ("became what he hated")

This is why Marx doesn't have the heart to forgive himself... even though Kirby was always ready to forgive him and welcome him back with open arms. Because he knows he can never forgive the people of Hamelin... Why should Kirby? And, of course, he does!

The restoration of a friendship between Marx & Kirby happens~, But unlike the people of Hamelin, Kirby has this unconditional love for Marx and wants more than anything to have him back in his life.

I'd say these events happened after Planet Robboot... Marx finally makes his return and "saves Kirby?!" (I'm not gonna reveal from what because of spoilers)

With my interpretation of Marx, I wanted to take him into a sympathetic route (to make him stand out from the others). He still has the sass and mischievous charm, but I wanted to give him a proper reason why he is the way he is. It's a more heartfelt version of Marx that Kirby would want to be friends with and him in turn.

Marx represents "self-worth"; if people don't appreciate or treat you the way you deserve, then they don't deserve you. (Minus the piping all the Dark Matter back into the town as revenge...) KNOW YOUR WORTH AS A PERSON PEOPLE!

And he stands as one of the main reasons why Kirby ultimately chooses to become a star warrior. Moved out of the Popstar to travel and pursue his aspirations & dreams.

So Arthur pretty much reveals Marx's backstory to the rest of the Kirby gang... and needless to say, they're speechless!

He still doesn't want to be forgiven, so he stays with Magolor (which I cover here with Magolor's lore), but yeah, of course, Marx opened up to Mags about Hamelin. And that's why Mags is there, while Kirby & Marx are back in his place telling his story to Kirby. (Kirby saw it because of "empathic touch" but didn't know the exact details of it..)

And Dragato, yeah, he was already on his redemption arc (Falspar's already went through his with Fluff, so he's there for moral support, plus it's the reason why Arthur partnered up together).... he already knew he messed up. But now, hearing the full story that he was, not only did he fall for the people of Hamelin's lies, but... MARX WAS THEIR HERO. (I know kinda of shoehorned the crew for the sake of missing the gang, I just missed them I had to...)

There's actually a small bit of tragedy... while the adults sold Marx out, the children who really loved him would've vouched for him... it'll tie back into his character later.

And I know it seems like I'm painting Dragato in such a bad light, but it's part of his character development. And for those of you who don't know... HIS MENTOR WAS DAME MORGAN (LE FAYE)! So yeah, high standards, little affection, never impressed~

Which is why I still need to establish her a bit more! More Morgan coming up soon

posting this unfinished wip of a ninjago x steven universe infection type comic i made back in around april

no idea if i'll finish it but i was scrolling through ibispaint and decided why not post

(ignore the fuckass car from page 2 lmao i have no idea how cars work anymore and to draw them is the bane of my existance)

the basic concept was that the diamonds were experimenting with a new technology to create gems; they created a species of gem that i called a gembug, but the name probably won't be official.

the gembugs were sent down through injectors and essentially what they do is they come in contact with something living, fusing with it and turning it into a gem

this happens to zane first and his gem replaces his power core. he is still titanium

for the others' gem types they are as follows:

nya is aquamarine

lloyd is malachite

pixal is moonstone

cole is a black sapphire but he also has some orange on him (the pattern is similar to the uncorrupted gems like jasper)

kai is unakite

jay is sodalite

wu is onyx

garmadon is black charoite

skylor is amber because of course

harumi is jade

dareth is boulder opal

(loosely written but becomes more structured near the end)

as for how the story plays out, this is set just before seabound. after zane gets hit by the bug, kai calls the team to warn them to stay away from the injectors. nya answers the call, asking if zane's alright. lloyd says to regroup at base. cole and jay don't pick up.

he and zane return to the monastery. kai has to keep away from physical contact as it's likely infectious (not sure for certain but something along those lines. maybe it's akin to a beacon, you touch an infected and it summons a horde of gembugs)

as for the reason why jay and cole didn't pick up, they were investigating an injector that was too far out for comms. cole ends up infected first and then makes contact with jay, infecting him too. they end up sending pixal closer to their location and in range of comms. she tells them to return to the monastery and look out for the injectors.

when everyone's returned, zane is not doing good. cole and jay seem slightly worse too. i think they put zane in a different room since he's further down the infection, just one of their villain holding cells. pixal is running scans on all of them. while she does this, jay accidentally bumps into nya. nya brushes it off, she'll be fiiiiine.

cole and jay get similarly put into holding cells, pixal investigates further. there isn't really anything obvious except she's detecting faint remnants of gemstones in each of them. as if their flesh is turning into rocks. she doesn't detect anything in zane as he's made out of the same element as his gem

while this happens, lloyd sends out a message to the commissioner to keep people away from the injectors and to isolate if infected, avoiding contact with others.

suddenly zane poofs and the gang freak out. the gem is bubbled and disappears. (the diamonds are about to infodump to patient 0 and the others will likely join them up there soon)

cole poofs now too and jay is panicking. there is a tic tic tic sound as they spot one of the gembugs just kinda standing there.

then all hell breaks loose. there's like a hundred of them that burst through one of the doors. jay stays behind to delay them, insisting he'll be ok as he's already infected anyways. he does hold them off but eventually ends up poofing too.

the 4 (pix, kai, nya and lloyd) run to their escape, using the land bounty to drive away from the monastery. they drive past the city but see people getting infected in droves. they pick up a few survivors along the way.

they drive off to the sea of sands to try to get to the junkyard. the bugs are quite far away. nya feels guilty and admits she may be what's luring the gembugs to them, due to making contact with jay before and not telling anybody.

they all say their goodbyes (contactless of course) and nya leaves the land bounty, the group driving away as she walks closer to the bugs scampering about in the far distance.

a walk. a jog. a sprint. nya summons water around her, forming into a giant tornado of spinjitzu. the gembugs being tossed around in a final blow from the elemental master of water. the tornado carries itself into a completely different direction than the junkyard or the city.

the team see it move over the horizon before it disappears.

they eventually arrive to the junkyard, setting up a camp. ed and edna are uninfected and happy to help. they are sure this spot is safe due to nobody else being infected and it being too far out for the bugs to find any time soon.

meanwhile at homeworld:

zane wakes up confused, looking around him to see 3 giant colour-coded women along with 3 smaller people too. they each have a gem somewhere on their body which is interesting. "oh look, it's a titanium! those are rare" says the blue one

the yellow one looks uninterested but watches anyways. the white one smiles before speaking.

she essentially just infodumps this whole operation they have going here and how the gems work. blue notices psychically that 2 more of them have turned into gems, teleporting them with a bubble. patients 0, 1 and 2. the first 3 to become infected.

they take a little while to form, cole coming out first, followed by jay. both are shocked by their new appearances and how they each only have 1 eye. cole having a large one in the middle of his face while jay has one of them replaced by his gem, similar to an eyepatch.

"a black sapphire and a sodalite! welcome welcome!"

"is that sapphire off colour?" yellow whispers

cole puts a hand on zane's shoulder. "zane! what the fuc-"

he covers his mouth with a hand. "excuse us for a minute"

zane turns them both around and pulls jay out of his space fanboying and into the conversation as well. "don't freak out, but i believe these three entities are equivalent to the first spinjitzu master. the species is some kind of sentient gemstone? these three are diamonds. they were the ones to send down the injectors. as an 'experiment'"

"experiment?" jay questions. "is that why i'm blue? why cole has one eye?"

"i believe so. they were trying to figure out how to create more of their species organically."

"well i'd say it sure worked." cole sighs. "i miss having depth perception already."

and then from that point i'm not really sure what happens

i guess gems and ninjago inhabitants coexist? i mean yes, the new gems will be kinda annoyed about losing their old forms but the gem forms are definitely stronger and more durable.

since the diamonds rule over all gems there would definitely be some independence battles since they were turned unwillingly. a trial maybe

those from ninjago would win the trial and be able to live regularly (albeit with new gem forms and gem tech)

i think earth and the crystal gems would help out too and then era 3 would begin

yeah that would work

that's a really good question... I'll be honest, with a lot of the "when and how did x happen" questions, there's not an official timeline or anything; the pom wraith au is sort of an umbrella with a bunch of different stories and what-ifs underneath it. although there was one story where louie does find out her secret!

louie and pom end up bridging their differences (with the help of olimar), and become good friends while pom is continuing the rescue effort. then there's a very unfortunate incident where pom and louie are away from the base and they're attacked... pom has to reveal herself to defend them and she accidentally hurts louie :(

its fine though, louie doesn't care what pom is. they're both freaks in his mind and that's all that really matters. he does end up having to defend pom from olimar (who's been made vindictive through his trauma with the plasm wraith) sometime later!! here's some older art:

On one hand - Duh, can very obviously tell. Especially with the way they waited until the last moment to show his face.

Of course they're going to make one of the villains stereotypically hot for the fanservice. Especially when The Spot is basically faceless and morally irredeemable (unsurprisingly that doesn't stop people)

The reader is Sans' friend, who he has hired/tasked with guarding the various alternates he has. just straight up imprisoned(?!?!). I avoided this for a while because of the aforementioned Papyrus Being Dead thing, but HOT DAMN I'm glad I read it in the end. Delightfully horrifying, but it gets sweet I swear!!! I would say read the tags but those are Spoilery ;)!

Sometimes when fandom discussions come up about how to make the ending of ‘Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog’ less… y'know, treating Penny as an object that Dr. Horrible is punished by losing and not as an actual person with her own emotional arc, a common solution that comes up is that the story should end with Penny becoming LA’s newest superhero and Dr. Horrible’s new nemesis.

And… I do see the internal logic in this. That sort of ending does retain the tragedy of Billy ‘losing’ Penny (and I do think that DHSAB, unless you wanna change it much much more radically than mostly just making it less shit to Penny, should be a tragedy) but without ‘punishing’ Penny purely as a proxy for punishing Billy. And in a way that gives Penny way more agency, and gives more space to condemn Billy for the way he treated her throughout the narrative. 

Plus, both DHSAB itself and other canon material constantly reinforce that Penny is the kindest and most altruistic person in the entire cast. And her hinted backstory of being inspired to do activist work as a way of coping with her parents’ death

calls to mind the backstories of many famous superheroes.

The main narrative of her prequel comic is basically about how hard it is to be altruistic as she is, and how it kinda stops her from having a normal life - including a normal dating life. Both in the ‘oh, I’m just too busy for that kind of stuff’ sense

And in the ‘my sense of duty interferes with my ability to have a Normal DateTM’. Which are also very familiar Superhero Struggles. Only that instead of something like ‘oh no, I accidentally stood up Mary Jane because Dr. Octopus is attacking the city and I must stop him!’, it’s ‘oh no, I’m a buzzkill on dates because I only wanna talk about Big Depressing Social Justice Issues.’

So all of this put together, I can understand why some people see Penny turning into a Superhero by the end of the story to be a logical end of her narrative arc. She’s always been the best and most moral person in the cast, and now she can prove that she’s the real hero!

Except… within the logic of DHSAB, Penny is kinda… too good to be a Superhero. Because superheroes in the Horribleverse are good for fighting superpowered bad guys and upholding the status quo and maybe giving an inspirational speech or too - but they can’t actually solve the big societal problems that Penny is working so hard to change, as she herself directly states.

The whole point of the parallels between Penny’s life and more typical superhero narratives is that Penny is already a ‘real hero’. Penny’s activism is the real kind of heroism, with all the self-sacrifice and dedication and kindness that it requires - and the one that can really save the lives of people, even when they’re not almost stepped on by giant robots. Superheroes can talk big game about justice and goodness, but they’re not really changing the system as it is and if anything they only reinforce it. Villains (or at least well-intentioned villains like Dr. Horrible) can talk big game about changing the world, but at the end of the day, they are still fueled by resentment and self-profit more than anything. 

And those are the big flashy guys who capture the public attention for good or for ill, while the people making real positive changes in the world just get overlooked and dismissed and ignored and shoved to the side. 

That’s the kind of superhero world DHSAB exists in, and that’s kinda dour and cynical but… I don’t think that’s inherently a bad thing - narratively speaking. And I don’t think that Penny gaining superpowers and dedicating her life to punching Dr. Horrible in the face is really a culmination of her life of activism. If anything, it kinda goes against it? Like, even if you do, like, “oh and also Penny finds a way to do a Superhero and Punch Dr. Horrible in the Face while also being an actual activist who’s doing positive change in the world!”I feel like this still kinda weakens the message about the importance of the kind of boring, unglamorous and very realistic work Penny was doing as a ‘civilian’. 

But… I also don’t think that necessarily makes ‘Superhero Penny’ a bad choice for an ending. Because ‘Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog’ is still a Tragedy, after all. I think Penny becoming a Superhero can really work for the ending, if you emphasize the idea that becoming a ‘True Hero’ is as much of a tragedy for Penny as becoming a ‘True Villain’ was a tragedy for Billy.

Like, you know, Billy got to defeat Captain Hammer and he gained the respect he always felt he deserved and money and fame… but he lost the emotional connection he had with Penny, which is the thing that could've actually made him happy. Penny finally gets respect and attention and gets people to actually listen to her… but by giving up on her ordinary activism work - whatever it’s because of societal pressures to do Superhero Stuff now that she has superpowers, or because she feels a duty to stop Dr. Horrible specifically, or because she’s just really really pissed at Billy, or because she has lost her faith in the ability of the common man to effect change after the “Everyone’s a Hero” debacle or… any combination of the above - she has actually given up her original strong ideals and the hope of actually doing good in the world.

Maybe for extra symbolism, a fight between Super Penny (Working Title) and Dr. Horrible ends up destroying the Caring Hands shelter Regular Penny worked so hard to secure - just to really drive the point home. 

Super Penny (Working Title) can absolutely work as an alternative DHSAB Ending that gives her more agency and more consideration for her character, but… as part of this consideration for Penny’s character, you need to also understand that Penny becoming a superhero is her getting Everything She Ever…

Thinking about switching gears on content….

Ok so why I kinda disappeared for a while was a mental health break, and the whole political debate in my country has been a living nightmare lol, I live in a fairly safe part of Texas that’s very welcoming, but it was still mentally draining to experience, my boss is an asshole it turns out lol, and I’m looking into finding a better job, one that actually treats me like a part time worker and doesn’t guilt me when I’m sick and can’t come in, my laptop is also really sensitive right now, accidentally overheated it once and now it freaks out every time I open something that Isint a window or drawing app XD, so I’m working on getting a pc like an actual pc, I’ve got the parts and someone’s gonna help me build it so yay!

Also been really team fortress 2d out recently, I don’t know what happened but I experienced the hardest burn out I could have experienced like ever, my hyper fixation just completely plummeted into the ground lol, so I’m going to be taking a break from it if that’s alright, I’m gonna also be focusing more on my drawing skills as a whole, so I’m gonna start posting my art on here a lot more, that and I’ll be shifting over to Madness combat stuff, and possibly my own original story I’ve been working on for a while now, once I get my pc and start doing sfm again, I’ll be back on the tf2 comic grind, sorry for leaving yall on red again, I’ll be back to posting content again on here, just not the usual tf2 stuff if that’s okay 👍

Wail Of The Siren is an AU where Dib and Gaz are sirens, it’s kinda an h2o like thing but instead of turning into sirens whenever they encounter water, they only turn into sirens when specifically in salt water.

Their transformation is much like that of Freeform’s Siren, which I haven’t watched but have seen some clips of.

Is post IZ: Enter The Florpus, does not line up with the comics (Other then issue 7) though because I haven’t read many of them.

Tak and Mimi are back, Skoodge and Tenn are also there after crashing on Earth.

Is ZaDr + TaGr centric, with some minor GaMf (could also be interpreted as GaMqp) KaZf, DaKf, KaSf, ZaSf, and TaSf (tenn and skoodge friendship). And also Gaz, Dib and Membrane.

AU Summary:

Dib accidentally gets a chemical spilt on him and Gaz after accidentally dropping it while in Membrane’s personal lab. At first, the two don’t think much of it, other then Dib strangely eating raw fish at night a week after, until Dib and Gaz go to the beach.

Dib dives into the water, everything is fine and dandy at first. But then, he feels a strange sensation come over him, as if his legs are fusing together. They glance down at their hands in horror. They’re webbed, scaly and green.

He wonders what the hell is happening to him, but he then remembers the incident in the lab that occurred two weeks ago, putting two and two together.

The chemical had turned them into a siren. They go find Gaz to show her, Gaz is absolutely horrified, wondering what the hell happened to her sibling.

She asks what happened, Dib says he thinks it was the chemical. Gaz has an oh shit moment and wonders if that also means she’s a siren too. Dib figures that she probably is, and it is confirmed shortly after Gaz gets into the water. She’s a siren to.

After that, the story basically follows Dib and Gaz after they became sirens, with some ZaDr, TaGr and GaMf (or GaMqp depending on how you interpret it) and also Tenn, Skoodge and Keef as well.

What Lurks Beneath the Surface:

What Lurks Beneath the Surface is a sequel to Wail Of The Siren. It takes place a year after its predecessor and is a bit more darker (while still having the humor of the original) than its predecessor. Taking place directly on Dib’s 13th birthday. Everyone knows the superstition behind 13 being an unlucky number, and that couldn’t be more true here.

Dib and his family get kidnapped by a former friend of Professor Membrane, Devon Walters. On Dib’s 13th birthday.

Unlike its predecessor, It will dives into the depths known as Professor Membrane’s past, instead of what lurks on the surface.

Installment Summary:

Hello again from the crunchy fishstick! Based on your latest tapas comic update, guess you had a fun Halloween ^^ "sexually anorexic" sounds both confusing and funny lols

I dressed up for the day myself...went out as "a maid from the 23rd century" and got a few compliments--but it wasn't until after I already got home and changed out of it that I realized maids are apparently not just a fun cosplay choice but also something sexualish?? :') oh, the woes of accidentally doing something that might be seen that way to others without realizing it.....I sincerely hope nobody who saw me thought anything sexual (I just liked wearing a skirt and being cute for onceeee)

I've been "out" as aroflux/arospec to some (online) friends already and thankfully I didn't find out any of them were aphobes. (yay!) A few didn't really get it even after my short explanation but oh well--kinda tough with non-queers sometimes but they're cool otherwise. Got the "so like a plant?" reply as a joke lol. One friend, one of my closest, had a hard time understanding how I could be an arospec and dating my bf so that was...something. Didn't get it when I was like "I just fluxxed into a demi phase" but eh. At least no one's an aphobe and no one laughed at me (with intent to make fun of me) for it!

The "you just haven't met the right person yet" hits hard though ngl...recently I tried to lightly hint and bring up that I'm arospec to my mom cause...yeah, I'm kinda tired of "be careful about dating" "don't start liking boys too early" and stuff like that. So to simplify it, I was like "I feel like I'm probably on the aro spectrum, a spectrum of people who just don't do romance like how lesbians don't like guys or gay guys don't like girls" (disclaimer: some things have to be REALLY simplified to boomer-minded people, sorry if that offends anyone or seems to exclude them or anything, it was just the best way I could think of to shorten it) and she thought for a moment before telling me "you just haven't met the right person yet".

I mean fair, I am still young and full of vinegar but still...I mean I did see it coming from her but I still said it (didn't really reply on that topic after though). Oh, to be pulled through a laundry machine of thoughts and having to wonder if you're really a legit aro or if you jinxed yourself again (there's a history...fun stories). Maybe eventually I'll reach the stage where I'll confidently think "yep, I'm arospec" on a regular basis like I did about my bisexuality...maybe it just takes time... Rough being a wishy-washy and indecisive sort of person who doesn't have the lines fully clear :sob:

If I want to be arospec and I feel like I identify with it (even if I get a little dysphoria of sorts sometimes), then that's enough to call myself one, right? Maybe that applies to more queer identities too...

I sympathize tho TwT I'm still puzzled to this day as to why a professional uniform was turned into something so sexualizable, I can try to reason it in my head as playing with taboos or power and maybe that's sexually exciting for people somehow but I have no idea how that reasoning works since I'm very much clueless about anything sex-related so... Yeah. It's an odd one to me for sure. Always will be I guess.

I'm really glad coming out to people has been a good experience for you overall!! That's honestly so fortunate when that happens TwT And I'm glad any potentially hurtful comment that some of us typically get was only shared as a joke, from a place of not understanding but willingness to understand, or with the exception of your mom, from what I get.

To be honest, it's a sad thing to accept, but I think sadly it's possible some people may expect you to eventually be "fixed" forever, even if you yourself know for a fact you'll never change and will repeat it endlessly. I'm out to all of my close family, living grandparents and parents' relatives, and I'm pretty sure at least one of them expect it to be that way still. I don't do much about it, since as hurtful as it can be, it's just some hopes they're projecting on me without seeing the real me, and yeah, it's kinda painful, but they can't control me with those hopes. Heck, I was mentally prepared for my parents to be like that with me. I'm incredibly fortunate that they're not and they accept me for what I am now (although somehow I think getting a queerplatonic partner really helped in the matter, the idea is probably much less scary to them than me not having a partner in any way, shape or form for some reason). But... Yeah. In my younger years it wasn't really shaping up like my parents would accept my orientation, and they are now, so there can still be hope. Whatever happens to you, I wish you the best either way.

And... YES, if you feel an orientation defines you well, then it IS enough to call yourself one. I only have my experience to go by but I feel it's extra hard for orientations like ours where they're so often stigmatised, invisibilised, perceived as a "phase" etc etc. What we may not get in demonization and hate, we get in being treated like something that doesn't exist at all. And that's tough for the confidence to affirm yourself in that orientation. But yes. If you feel it defines you, if you feel it describes who you are, then it IS enough to be right. Nobody has the right to make that ultimate call for you, but yourself.

Ah thank you, Bram. I'm really bad at figuring out the ship names for these guys lol. I expect them to get longer the more people are included, and then its four letters and I'm like... huh.

Anyway, I am also obsessed. I fucking love these characters so much, thinking about the kinda post MH story for them is so special to me. I'm SO glad you like the names. I love them. I think they're so cute. And now I'm really curious what names you guys game the twins, like how similar are the names, if the naming convention itself is similar?

You don't have to tell me, obviously, but I do wonder.

I remembered more about the post MH storyline that me and my boyfriend talked about AGES ago (before I'd decided that Tim and Brian would have another kid, and before that kid was named Jesse after Jessica), which was specifically about the 'canon' way that this story goes (not the 'everyone lives' AU). Because it ended up being that like, Tim did end up getting back in touch with Jessica because she and Taylor had a kid who ended up in the same school as Birdie did I think? (small fucking world huh 💀 everyone's turning up at this damn school).

Anyway Jessica was like, picking her kid up from school and she saw Tim while he was waiting in the playground, and just kinda sidled up to him to see if it actually was, and like, sure the conversation was a bit awkward, but it was still nice. (I know Jessica doesn't remember MH in the comics but she does here, just like she has a kid here, and isn't being actively fucked with by the operator and skully lol)

Anyway, then Birdie came out of class and over to Tim, and Jessica had this little moment looking at her where she was like "god this kid looks just like Jay" and she doesn't get a chance to ask Tim about it, because then her own kid is coming out of class and they have to rush off to get to his after school club or whatever, but the next day when she sees Tim again, Jessica just quietly asks if Birdie is both Tim's and Jay's, and Tim gets like, really quiet and just gives her a tight little nod and that's the end of the conversation.

But like, over the next term or two, they slowly talk more and eventually Tim admits that Jay died at the end of MH and that he lied about it to Jessica back then because he thought it was the right thing to do. They become good friends though, and they take their kids to the part together and stuff, so Birdie has a "cousin" in Jessica's kid who she becomes fast friends with, and their little family grows. Because like, yeah they have Brian's family, but they don't get to see them super often.

Side note, Brian having a very big, very lovely family is a huge HC for my boyfriend and I. We have a whole cowboy/wild west au that ended up accidentally revolving around Brian having a huge family who are just, really really accepting of queerness. Like, Jay was a trans guy, Alex was a trans girl, Tim and Brian were gay/bi etc, and the four of them were poly, and brians mum was just like, cool, can one of you PLEASE go wrangle the younger kids for dinner??? It's great. She also makes Alex her first dress, and teaches her 'how to be a woman', like, sewing, cooking, all the stuff a lady in the 1800's wild west would need to know.

I love that woman. She's the best character in that whole AU. She treated Tim like one of her own sons because he and Brian had been friends since they were kids, except Tim was CLEARLY her favourite and she was an absolute menace (affectionately) to Brian, who was the oldest or one of the oldest out of, like, 7 or 8 kids I think.

Best au ever lol.

SPEAKING OF BRIAN ACTUALLY, you wanna know one of the ideas I went through before settling on Brian showing up as a teacher at Birdies school? I'm gonna tell you anyway so please nod.

At first, I was gonna have it so that Tim and Brian only met each other again when they were both in, like, their late fifties to early sixties. Like, Birdie would be all grown up and living with her wife (oh yeah Birdie's a lesbian and ends up with a wife) and one day Tim and Brian just, run into each other, and it takes them both a moment to place where the hell they recognised each other from, but eventually they do, and just like in 'canon' S,IL they both have a big crying reunion about it. And then it was just them being old men falling in love with each other all over again, y'know?

It was SUCH a cute idea. It was so fucking cute. I still love it.

I totally guessed that Indara would bite the dust based on how little we saw her in the trailers.

While Mae is cruel for her goal, she isn’t heartless when she spares the bartender after she sees his kid.

I'm so glad the Neimodian voices are not the racist accents from the PT in this show (though I will admit after hearing those voices for so long and in the iconic memes, it feels weird to hear non-racist voices...but nonetheless it's very good it's not present). I applaud Lucasfilm for doing this. Also my shameless advertising of Brotherhood, that book did a lot of justice to the Neimodian race. It's also just an amazing SW novel in general.

I love Sol and Osha a lot. Sol (played by Lee Jung-jae who did an amazing job at portraying Sol, he even learned English for the show! I'm so happy to see a great Korean Jedi Master. I feel represented and it's a great feeling) truly represents the best of the Jedi and is clearly disturbed by the direction of the Jedi Order's current path. I also like how Osha despite no longer being a Jedi still holds out for the best of them. Her funny banter with Pip also gives her some levity in an otherwise dark story.

Yord represents the dogma of the future PT Jedi Order while Jecki represents the emotion suppression of the PT Jedi. However, I like how the two just like Sol quickly caught on that Mae is definitely alive and is doing the crimes when Sol told them about her.

The Polan is such an amazing ship design and I love the Hyperspace ring-based craft that carried it.

I very much appreciate that Sol believed her rather even hesitating for a moment. It shows how much Sol is different from the other Jedi who were more ready to place judgment on Osha.

We also see the beginnings of the Jedi Order of the HR Era to the PT Era with the Jedi becoming concerned with emotions leading to attachment (ironically missing the point that emotions can also make people stronger through their bonds but they must make sure emotions don't lead to attachment) and their reputation to the greater public. Even visually, the Jedi Temple of the HR Era is shown to be much higher than the Temple in the PT Era where the levels of Coruscant expanded upwards kinda pulling the Jedi down.

The production value behind this show is simply incredible. All the practical sets and on-site location shooting are present. I love seeing the diverse array of aliens in this show including a Zygerrian Jedi (we also got a prominent one in the HR Era comics as well). As much as I love Andor a lot, I will admit that the lack of aliens in that show is noticeable.

I also absolutely love the Dark Side figurer's speech to the Acolyte at the end of the episode.

Revenge/Justice

I really like how Sol is concerned about Osha falling to a dark side. With what is implied with Torbin's vague last statement, there's something bigger with Sol's concerns for Osha and desire to help Mae beyond failing them both.

Qimir is a squirmy little vendor. I feel there might be more to the guy than we think.

Master Torbin killing himself was one of the most unexpected dark turns I didn't see coming. I get a feeling the four Jedi might've been involved in the destruction of the Aniesya twins family although I highly doubt they were personally involved in the destruction but might've accidentally led to it.

I also love how the HR Jedi that Mae targets never attack her (except for Indura who decided to finally use her Lightsaber). The entire time Sol was fitting Mae he was more focused on asking her and disarming her weapons. A true Jedi never attacks first but to disarm and to try to prevent a conflict by non-violent means first.

Also very interesting that Mae didn't know Osha was alive. It's going to be quite an interesting conversation between Mae and her master when they reunite. That look when Mae finally sees her sister alive is amazing acting (you almost forget that they're portrayed by the same person which is how great Amandla Stenberg, Osha and Mae's actress, is).

I can't wait to figure out what's Kelnacca's deal next week.

The music done by Michael Abels is phenomenal and I cannot wait to analyze more into the score once the soundtrack comes out.

Overall, I really love this show. Leslye Headland and her team absolutely cooked and I need to talk more about the mysterious Dark Side figure's speech and how it related to their plan in the show.

work i’m most proud of (and why):

His Pain Be Ours to Bear is my baby. It's been in the works since 2022 but I never really got started with it until 2024 for the Batfam Big Bang. I just really love it. It's not perfect and there's a lot of things about it I would change, but I also just really like how it turned out.

Also, I would be remiss not to give a special mention to The Case of the Anonymous Confession just because, again and I cannot stress this enough, the coding made writing the thing An Endeavor. I suffered so much, but it was worth it. The end result was pretty cool, though, if I do say so myself.

work i’m least proud of (and why): A Steady Anchor in the Open Sea. It was just so painful to write. It fought me the whole way through and I had to completely redo it so many times. It was for whumptober, and I liked to have my fics mostly done two weeks before they're set to post, but I was completely overhauling this thing two days before it was meant to post. And I'm gonna be real, I'm still not entirely happy with the end product but uggghhh. It's fine. It turned out fine. I know it turned out objectively fine, but there's so much bad associated with it that I'm still kinda mad at the fic.

share or describe a favorite review you received:

just one lmao? i love all of them. But if I had to pick one, I was really touched by this one just because I never really considered that people would be reading my writing through the years and still liking it. It was simultaneously very touching and very terrifying.

a time when writing was really, really hard: My first fic for the year was in May and I started it around mid-April? All the months before that were excruciating. I could not get a single word out. I don't even remember why, but I just couldn't make myself write for the longest time and it was awful.

a scene or character you wrote that surprised you:

I feel like I'm learning who Crystal Palace is as I'm writing her fic. There's just so many layers to her, and she's so complex that the more I think about her and write about her in the fic, the more she surprises me.

a favourite excerpt of your writing:

I am just. Really proud of this section from His Pain Be Ours to Bear.

Jason doubts the Nightwing costume will ever feel completely right against his skin. It’s not his, and maybe it never will be. Would he have picked it out if it was just him? Probably not. He didn’t pick Robin, either. But maybe that’s not really a bad thing. Any asshole could put on a few bright colors, come up with a dumb name, and start beating people up in the dead of night. Being a hero at all hadn’t really been an option for him, not until he first glared Batman down with a tire iron and the kind of bravado only a twelve-year-old could have. Jason doesn’t know the person he could have become without that. He might have been better, he might have been worse. He might not have died the way he did, or he might not have lived a life not worth living. Jason doesn’t think he wants to know. Dick probably wouldn’t have approved, but he’d still smile and clap his hand on Jason’s shoulder and he’d say, you’ll do great, kid, and he’d mean it with complete sincerity. Legacy is the weight of love. It’s not a bad thing to have.

how did you grow as a writer last year: Did I grow tho? Lmao. Of course I did. 2025 is the year where we stop self-deprecating language.

I don't know. I'm a lot more comfortable with smut now, which is nice. I think my fics are a lot more ambitious now. Outside of fic weeks and whumptober, I have Projects(TM) now where I just really dig deep into the writing and the prose and the characters. I think I've been doing that more and more as the years pass as opposed to just working on a fic for a few hours and throwing it out into the wind the way I did when I was younger, and it's an interesting change. I like to think that I'm better at giving my characters complex emotions, but I wouldn't say that definitively.

how do you hope to grow this year: I'm actually planning on trying to translate a few of my fics into Filipino this year. Just for practice. I don't really write in Filipino (or read much if we're being completely honest), and that's a pretty severe oversight that should probably be rectified. Also there was one tweet that went viral a few days? weeks? back that mostly had Filipinos talking about how good fic smut was in Filipino. And you know. I never tried that. It sounds like fun. I want to write degenerate shit in Filipino too.

who was your greatest positive influence this year as a writer (could be another writer, beta, cheerleader, etc.): @redhoodieson has been putting up with my writing insanity at 1 in the morning for nearly a decade now, and 2024 was no different. god bless <3

anything from your real life show up in your writing last year:

The Case of the Anonymous Confession is technically set in Port Townsend but it's actually heavily inspired by that one FB post from UP Diliman Freedom Wall. In my heart, it's actually set in UP and those kids are iskos and iskas.

Oh yeah, I also made Catherine Todd Filipino in one of my fics and made her from my specific province. It's hard to describe in English, but we 100% speak Filipino with the same accent lmao.

any new wisdom you can share with other writers: Just keep going. I promise your writing isn't as bad as you think it is. Trust yourself and your voice and give yourself grace when your writing ends up in places you didn't expect or plan for.

any projects you’re looking to starting (or finishing) this year: I have a few things lined up for fab five week and jaydick week. I also plan to finish my wips from whumptober 2024. There's also one other dbda fic exchange that's due in February, so I should probably start that now.

There's that omegaverse avenhill fic that's gonna get written at some point. I promise. I will write it.

And uh, yeah. Translations. I'm still trying to pick out fics that wouldn't be too painful to translate, but I hope to get a few ones done for the year. Hopefully, I can also write a full fic in Filipino by the end of the year, but that's more of a long-term goal.

hiii I'm wondering, what issues do you have with Countdown, if you don't mind me asking?

Pleasee note that ive been reading all the Jason comics in order of release (started at flying todds jaybin currently at rhato), I've only read countdown once, my memory issues are a bitch, and everything is subject to change for forever 👍

I'm like, basing this whole ramble off my memory of events, and no rereading means no potential updating of feelings on it

To start on positives, I love many concepts and characters it brings to the table and all the different earths traveling they do, I think Donna, Jason, and Kyle are a fun trio as well, and their adventures are delightful. The different earths are all very interesting and i dearly wish we got to have more focus on them. I may not like it being so long but ehhh I've considered rereading it on occasion. The issues counting down are also a fun gimmick as well.

One of my problems is the like. Main story. It feels pretty messy just to like, read though. The extra issues onto the main 52 don't help. Not being familiar with that many dc characters in general doesn't help (was more of a marvel kid). Don't really remember how many character stories we were following in there anymore, it just felt like alot and I genuinely can't remember where half of them led

I ALSO. Skimmed it a bit. Especially later. That's on me. But to be fair to me it's 50 issues and I just don't think I'm big on long comic stories like that. in general. So it was always doomed to fail in the test of my personal opinion

(My favorite crossover comic so far has been legends, just to hammer that above point in)

I dont like the ending where they all hang out in a bunker on the good earth and the virus they have is spreading to just. kill that entire world. And they just go home after that. That's like, that felt weird. I'm just not big on heros accidentally slowly killing an entire universe. That just like. Hhhhng. Um. You know when the stakes get so big and bad they just kinda suck? If that's what I mean??

While I do like looking into Superboy Prime and Jason's resurrection. Don't like his dialogue here. Don't know if that's normal for him or not though

I felt a teensy bit validated when I looked it up after reading and saw many others not liking it I fear

But ignoring at all that. (Because while important to acknowledge when talking about my problems with it, most of what I just had to say is unfair to it)

My knowledge is on Jason. Let's focus on Jason

Jason just kinda. Sucks? He sucks in this. Do not get me wrong Jason is absolutely allowed to be an asshole, I won't ignore those edges. But he was more like,,, a generic asshole? He didn't feel like Jason to me, just more like, a template character or something. There are fun interactions and moments he has but just. Bwah. And it feels like a very strange turn too because for the first few issues I was actually really enjoying the Jason here. I'm not sure what happened

(Fun fact this is the first comic I felt showed Jason as angry. Actual "wow that guy is angry". the angry i was expecting when i started reading him. It was when Dick and Tim interrogated him, I actually think about this moment alot in some of my vague rambling thoughts on Jason, his anger, and how the controlled narrative after his death effects how people expect him to react and thus treat him. Its neat. I thought his interaction with Jimmy was fun and it's a neat contrast bc Jimmy and Dick n Tim were asking the same questions. I enjoyed the early issues of countdown alot, which I think made it have a harder fall for me)

But back to the bad. He's also. Consistently looking down on female heros? Excluding Donna but like. I can't remember it all exactly. but I do remember, that I felt very very very nervous when they said they were going to the genderswap dimension next (he didn't say anything here tho, actually)

Jason also just sorta,, very consistently gets beat up and knocked down? Felt very 'wow look at this guy he sucks don't you think he sucks. Do you want to see him get beat up constantly and not win any fight.' And there's no payoff to this at all. Nothing changes, nothing gets better, he immediately throws the red robin costume in the trash and we never talk about any of this ever again. He's just sorta an asshole punching bag the whole time and it's not something I enjoy. He gets into fights and gets put down and no one likes him. He doesn't even get to have fun while he's here, iirc he's basically just miserable and trying to get this over with the whole time. Kinda distantly wanted him to not leave the victorian era gotham, just a little bit, just a tad, to be real

And there's just a bit of whiplash to his whole character. We go from silly and carefully planning and competent to. Gestures vaguely. There is NO DOUBT very fun analysis about Jason you could do with this and the whiplash. But its not something I personally want to do with countdown
