⠀1.⠀Knox has been deaf in one ear, left one, since he was 7 years old. This is because he was present during a shooting and the sound of the gunshots was what left him deaf.

This led to abandonment issues, if even his own parents had abandoned him, why wouldn't someone else do it? This is why he's afraid of commitment, and relationships in general, even friendships.
