what is life if not in darkness,
is our artificial light enough to show the impatience of humanity or it's resilience?
can we truly believe a winter's rest must begin at 4' in the evening?
Or can we understand we aren't acclimated to the home we reside in, that we are guests, less adapted than some of our cohabitors, our host inconsiderate of our plights,
the rain shan't stop pouring when tears spill- neither shall the sun setting halt for the lost.

Happy halloweeen. :)
This is the commentary track(?) to my digitober. It's just rambling, so don't expect anything too interesting.
This first picture came out on a whim, I originally didn't intend to do anything for this october. I had just arrived home from helping my mom out with something, and was in a good mood. I think this picture, as sketchy as it looks, reflects that feeling. I'm content with it - and it's halloween themed! All the better.
For the second, I tried to follow the "official inktober" list (something I'd drop quickly in the following days). I'm disastrous at making backgrounds, so I gave it a shot for practice sake. I think it's not a bad result, it almost kinda tells something of a story.
"Boots", hah. It's not terrible, but it's also missing a lot of polish. I think the idea behind it works well for a cute/sexy picture of Angewomon. Maybe some day I'll revisit it? I should put more practice into drawing the human form in the meanwhile lol.
I really dislike the fourth one. I think Lianpunmon deserves better art, so I'll definitely do it again some day. My skills are so undeveloped, it's very obvious seeing this poor hatching.
Speaking of hatching, I bit more than I can chew with this one. The composition isn't interesting enough either, and just like with Lianpunmon there's no story here. At least Angewomon seemed to be interacting with the viewer lol.
The sixth is something I liked better. It's kinda shody, but there's something of an urban fantasy thing going on.
The Vamdemon one I can see the faults: I need better line control, the shapes aren't locked in as well as they should be. Yet, I'm partial to it…
Rapidmon deserves better lol. I still really dig the idea behind this drawing, I just wish I'd have given myself the patience and time needed to render a kickass explosion.
SkullGreymon, I have little to comment. It has zero story, but it's carried by the vibes. It's the first (and arguably last lmao) time I think I was cooking with the halftones.
The tenth is arguably the peak of the entire month. It has some story, a neat composition, and acceptable execution. Strangely enough it was one of the quickest to make: I had an idea, and it came out in a few minutes (compared to some other drawings where I was fighting for my life), and it ultimately was one of the most interacted with drawings in my entire blog. Funny how that goes.
I like a lot the Piemon one, as bland as it is. It's like a design piece, more than a drawing. It helps that the perspective deformation hides my poor linework haha.
I went too hard on the Mephismon X one, to the detriment of the piece. Instead of adding texture, it just looks dirty. Damn.
The thirteenth one was my poor attempt at making a background. Originally, Bakemon was gonna have this devious, whimsical look, but as I finished drawing the stairs I thought "I'd be kinda tired after climbing a few floors", so I changed Bakemon's expression to reflect that. Just a little trivia.
The Jesmon is what I'd argue was my peak. Shapes are locked (as best as my skill lets them), values worked well, it told a story. It's my favourite of the month.
Fiftenth was made, mostly, trying to catch some Adventure buff to the ammount of interactions I'd get. I mean, I had fun drawing the characters, but the reality is that I had petty reasons. I don't dislike it though.
I know exactly what I wanted to do with the sixteenth, and I didn't achieve it. Looking back, I think I should've done it in BW, rather than grayscale, to make it pop more. Fix the composition too. It's too plain. Shame, I really like Lilithmon X's design.
Seventeenth was also one where I just phoned it in. I think the values are all over the place; though I do like the harsh light. Impmon is a lot of fun to draw, all things considered.
Greymon was fun, lots of fun to draw. But this was another piece where I went too crazy trying to use halftones, I ended up making something that lacked impact or presence. I do like, in a self deprecating way, how the background seems okay until you look at it directly and see that it's kinda bad lol.
I made Nefertimon's torso too long! I only realized when I was doing the finishing touches lol. Yet I like the whole thing a lot, I think the texture and lightning kinda sells it as a photo (the white border was an attempt at selling that further). Saw someone refer to it as "the last thing I see before I die", and that comment might stay with me forever lol.
The twentieth is another I had a clear picture in my head as to what I was actually hoping to make, but failed to. Instead of landing some sort of finish, it's on a weird gray (lol) area. Making clouds is hard y'all.
Twenty one is one where I managed to stick the landing to what I had in mind. I think the composition needed a few more minutes of baking, but overall I'm content with the result. Death-X-DORUgoramon is a complex design, so any degree of succesful translation is a win in my book.
I think I needed to draw some more background Kuramon for the twenty second. Y'know, to really sell the swarm thing. It's kinda too clean.
Before twenty three, I had never given myself the time to draw a tree shilouette. It was fun to turn off my brainfor a bit and just draw line, after line, after line, after line. I did the tree first, and then I tried to figure out how to make Shurimon. Originally, I wanted him to be hunched over more dramatically, almost as if he was climbing down the tree, but I was incapable of drawing it in a satisfactory manner. So this is what I got.
Twenty four is so bad! I think Monitamon came out fine, but the background elements are so poorly done! I'm so embarrassed! lol
Kabuterimon was really fun, very dramatic looking. I think it has some serious readability issues with the hands, but I don't dislike the idea I had at all.
Hackmon's drawing was done almost like a sibling piece to the fourteenth, Jesmon's. Like, Huckmon is somehow watching his exhausted future, yet he stands stoic. On it's own, I think it's plain. Like, it has some charm, but it's lacking in impact compared to the fourteenth. But maybe that's for the best of the story?
The Wizarmon sticker came through me realizing I wasn't practicing my lineart! So I did a sticker instead. This was actually version two, but number one was so bad I had to redo it. Despite it being a humble sticker chibi, it's overall the day I spent the most time drawing.
Twenty eight came from me realizing I hadn't done any Alphamon! So I did what I thought would look badass. As much as I like Alphamon, though, his shapes are difficult for me to grasp so it came out shoddy and weak lol.
Twenty nine, Ragna Lordmon vs Ragnamon, was hurt by me recording it. While an exciting thing to do, I felt like I wasn't allowed to do anything but move forward quickly, or to change things (I'd have moved both Ragnamon and the main Ragna Lordmon body closer to the center) that would've made the composition flow better. It's not an abject failure, and the video is fun to watch, but still…
Dorumon is a simple piece that I was a bit surprised to make. My birthday is not information I tell people, but I was just compelled to share a bit of myself. I dunno, it feels weird. I'm weird. It came out cute at least.
And at the last! Noble Pumpmon again. I'd love to tell you that I applied everything I learned throughout the month and it's my best piece and stuff, but that isn't the reality. It's a better show for a similar amount of effort compared to the October 1st drawing, but it's not some crazy good display of betterment. A bit, yes, but less than I had hoped.
If you made it this far into this silly wall of text I wrote, I thank you. I thank everyone who interacted with my drawings, it pleases me a lot to see that someone gave it a like, or a share, or a comment. I learned about myself, and my limits, through this experience. It was tiring, but setting myself the goal of "make a drawing a day" was, paradoxically, liberating. Like, now I had a reason to draw! (despite me having some comission work to do lmfao). It was nice. This was one of the most entertaining octobers in recent years. Thanks again to everyone who participated in some fashion.

It's a part of my own writting inktober! To see more check out this post!
Prompt: clown / emotion / ritual
pairing: Bill Cipher x Reader
tw: none
The moon was full, bathing the night sky in a cold silver light. Dark, long branches hit the window panes. It was midnight when you started to have doubts. Will it work? Will it actually help you?
You shook your head - there was no time for such questions. The last candle was lit with a trembling hand. The room was filled with darkness, you could barely see your hands despite the gentle flickers of the fire. You took a deep breath, taking the chill night air into your lungs, and letting it out in a long sigh.
You opened the old scripture, holding on to the old paper as if to your own life. The ancient rhymes made your eyes water. You were just about to go on to the part with the knife when you heard a faint laughter.
The room seemed to shift and change. You knew that voice right? Low, ominous rumbling filled the air, when sharp shadows circled around you as if to swallow you whole. There was something emerging from the corners in the darkness, something big, staring right at you-
This fucker!
"Bill! What are you doing in my ritual!"
"Oh come on toots, calling onto some stupid gods and not me? You really have a nerve!"
The triangle demon circled you while laughing. His form again normal sized, perfectly punchable if he only moved closer.
"Don't even try that kid! I'm not like those clowns you want so badly! I will get back at ya!"
"What do you want Cipher!? I was just about to summon a god and you ruined it! Again! Do you know how long I have to wait for another full moon?!"
You looked at the demon with anger. Since you two met he succesfuly stopped all your attempts at dark magic. At first you belived him when he said you where doing some stuff wrong, like using a wrong spell, or not fresh enough offering. But with time he started interfiing more and more. And now he was just an annoying prick.
"Listen kid, if you're so desperate to make a deal with a higher power-
"I'm not making deal with you Bill." You stood up crossing your arms. " I want to learn my future from a reliable source. A reliable source, got it?"
"Oh and would you look at that - that's exactly me, brainiac! If we just made a deal, I would let you know aaaall your possible futures, with all the alternative universes, great deaths and every new emotion in your head! Why not shake on, so I can share it with you?"
"Cuz last time I did that, you made me think of you every time when I spoke to my crush! And now I don't even remember their name!"
"As if such a detail was important kid, you got your end of the deal, and I got mine, yes?"
"How was that even beneficial to you?!"
"A guy must advertise himself somehow, you know?" He said while shrugging. You growled, putting out the candles. You had to stowe them away and wash the floor again. At least you didn't spill your blood this time. You were getting short on bandages.
You looked at your watch. Fifteen minutes after midnight. If it was at least ten, you would still have time to continue, rushed, but at least finally achieving your goal. Now tho, it was certain it wouldn't work out. The ritual needed special time and undivided attention. Both of which, Bill took without any care.
Your stomach growled. You haven't eaten in a while. Maybe you should go do that and watch a movie to sleep? You looked back at the triangle. He was still there, staring at you, as if suspended in space. Was he lost in thoughts or reading your mind? You nudged his side to get his attention.
"You know what? If you spawn me a drink - not alive, conscious one that is, I will share my popcorn with you." You saw humor get back to his eye.
"Oh golly! Free useless food from my meatbag monkey? What a treat!"
"Do you want it or not?" you replied, leaving the room. His eye scanned your tired form while slowly following you.
What a cute fool you were. Calling onto beings your whole mind wouldn't understand. It was shame you weren't awere how much he was protecting you from getting your brain melted. Maybe, just maybe if he made you more like him you would finally realize how much work you made him do! But no. He couldn't risk his stupid puppet getting a potential response from one of those "higher beings".
After all you belonged to him.

(all scenes are depicted as platonic)
So every Inktober I try to do something more challenging, and this year I thought I would make a short comic/fanfic. I think I got the idea for this one a year ago but I was already wrapped up with another Inktober. Eventually I solidified the idea by making my own prompt list some time ago.
This comic is split into three parts with 10 days focusing on each of them, 30 in total, everything is compiled here. I wanted to post them after October in case I wanted to change anything.
This first part takes place in the summit.
The comic is basically all improvised, that means no planning for the composition, plot, or sketching any drawings. The most planning I did was write a few scripts ahead of time within the month to save me some time but most of them would be changed last minute anyways.
As for the plot, I won't go too deep into it because I don't want to talk too much, so you'll just find commentary on the making of the comic and stuff.
This first part is a little gimmick-y compared to the next two, with new elements appearing almost every day. It’s because I relied a lot on the prompts (dog, milk, etc.) to keep things happening, eventually I move further away from them.
What is surprising to me is how much the art changes as the days go by especially within the span of one month. I did refine a few things to keep it more consistent but this is nearly indistinguishable from the original drawings.
I should also mention that my favourite aspect of this project was adding references to the game and subtle details (if you can find it all, awesome!!) This may have been done quickly but I like to have those things and put at least a bit of effort into the dialogue.
Part 2
Eventually I figured that drawing the same setting for 30 days straight would drive me insane, hence why this comic is split like it is. I’m glad I did because it makes the story a little more interesting, seeing the characters have different attitudes in different places and whatnot.
This one takes place in the cave directly after pt 1. Admittedly I do better drawing outdoor settings, it's what I'm used to, but the cave wasn't so bad to figure out.
I remember these two days I was streaming drawing the comic to my friends, so I kinda zoned out while we were talking lol
One of the prompts was about napping, so I made Dwarf sleep. I believe I was tired that day too and it was therapeutic to draw and include that. Also they look cute, I think.
18 & 19 have some of my favourite drawings in the comic. The campfire lighting is what we'd get if I had a bit more energy each day, and I like the perspective in the first panel of 19.
I find this last section interesting, because of all the 30 days, it’s the only one in Dwarf’s POV. I felt like it was fitting to do something like that at the time.
Part 3
Since we were approaching Halloween, I wanted to have a special part for it. It’s related to the other two parts but it takes place some time after. I’m really sorry it’s out of season, if it were up to me I would have had this post out earlier (thank my midterms for the delay)
Out of all the other parts this one is my favourite. Maybe because it’s more recent I’m inclined to think that way but it has some of my fave moments that I've written here.
Other than that I don't have much commentary for this part. More thoughts at the end!
I was caught up everyday atp, but I didn’t have much spare time to prepare for the ending (I wrote it the morning of that day). I think this is a decent conclusion though.
I intend on coming back to this story, maybe next year to make a continuation but we'll see what happens. There are definitely things that I want to come back to someday.
Thank you for making it this far btw. It's been an eventful month for me beyond this (Untitled) comic, but there wasn't a single aspect of this that I didn't enjoy doing. It's a silly project and I care about it.
Also, I'm not going to neglect the 31st of October! That day will get an illustration, where I will pick my favourite panel and redraw it. I want to take my time with this one so it's not out yet, but hopefully I can finish by Christmas.
#long post#stardew valley#sdv dwarf#krobus#sdv fanart#sdv#stardew valley dwarf#sdv krobus#stardew valley krobus#if you have thoughts on this comic feel free to share#i havent gone too into detail especially with the plot rn so i would love to discuss about it more if prompted

day 28, chapter 76:
At the expression on Quintus' face Cliopher could take no more. He started laughing before he made it out of the room, though the loudest whoops came after he'd reached the hallway. He did not get far along, just sank down at the top of the stairs so he could try to muffle his mirth with his hands. ~ "Your family seems somewhat perturbed," Rhodin observed after a few minutes.
and bonus gallery shot + musings under the cut because it's been exactly 4 weeks now:
fun to see what kinds of patterns intentionally or unintentionally crop up... or also which days i can tell i was busy vs which days i had time or worked in advance to dedicate more time to the piece. if anyone's curious, on average one of these might take me 2-3 hours to complete! more detailed ones like october 23 i think probably took me closer to 5 hours, simpler ones like october 9 maybe 1.5h.
i am both sad and glad it's almost over--i've definitely lost a fair amount of sleep trying to get these done in time (usually i work a day ahead so i can post at a reasonable time, but that hasn't always worked out, especially in the final stretch here), so this pace does become untenable on top of work, but it also is really fun to make so much art! and to always have something to work on rather than becoming trapped into that idea of 'what should i do, too many choices, can't decide..' the answer is always inktober!
in any case, seeing the gallery like this is also interesting to me because it really helps me realize where i could have/should have pushed the ink a bit more--working in ink is (to me; this is definitely not gospel, just how i consider ink work) an exercise in controlling contrast. you don't have colour to drive edges or cool/warm tones, so the only value you have is the light-dark contrast, and in my mind at least, good use of contrast should carry across to a smaller format. for example, zoomed out like this i can see that october 11th really needed more contrast in the feathers--they blend too much into the background in a way that doesn't really work to emphasize that ludvic is standing in front of the candles there. otoh, on october 5, i think that one's fine because what i wanted was for the moon to draw the eye first, and THEN for you to notice HR sitting there.
overall, also, i want to keep these interesting--if the compositions are always the same, then it can become repetitive or boring, so i wanted a good mix of light and dark compositions, and a good balance of tone across all of them. which so far i'm pleased with! and this year i let myself use pencil undersketches and do thumbnail planning and everything (last year i really wanted to get better at visualizing the piece in my head so i set the challenge of just committing straight to paper... i'm still happy with last year's but you can tell i took on much more challenging compositions this year lol)
anyway!! much to think about, so much to learn, i wanted to work a bit in advance again so i won't be putting tomorrow's up almost at midnight again but alas i think it was not meant to be, so i'm off to bed and if you read this whole thing, congrats, have a cookie *hands you a cookie*

OhuHueVember Prompt List
Finally, I can share the surprise I’ve been working on! 😆 (Though admittedly later in the day than I really wanted...)
After years of wanting to try out Huevmber, I finally thought of a way to make it work for me, all because I spend far too much time thinking about markers. 🤪 And I did my best to make it easy for others to join in, if you want to!
I tried to get all the essential information on the images themselves but y’all know me by now—If you need more information, I’ve got a MUCH longer write-up hiding behind the "Keep Reading" button + a Spreadsheet, if you need it, too! ✨
⭐️ Like My Art and Want to see more of it? Here's All My Links! ⭐️
----------
Before I get into my usual long-winded description (and trust, it will be long), if you want to actually follow this prompt list—Or the Weekly version—here's what you need to know (some of which is already stated in the image, but I want to keep things as clear and easy to understand as possible!):
Here's the "Official" Spreadsheet that has all of the color codes, Honolulu color names, and some additional information like recommended Light/Dark blend pairings for each color typed out, both in case the image format doesn't work for you and also because some things like the Light/Dark blends just wouldn't all fit in one image. [A sample photo of the Light/Dark blend pairings will also be available soon, and I'll add a link here when they are, but I unfortunately ran out of time to have them ready to post alongside the list
As the upper right corner says: This challenge is not officially affiliated or sponsored by Ohuhu, I just like the markers and have had them on the brain a lot lately!
This is open to all mediums! While this challenge was inspired by working with Ohuhu markers traditionally, as the image says: If you don't have these specific markers or colors, use what you do have! This includes doing the challenge digitally if digital tools are what you have, or whatever other medium you're comfortable with and have access to: Original Art, Coloring Pages, Card Crafting, etc. The point is to play with color and have fun, so as long as you're doing that, pretty much anything goes!
Likewise, as the image says: The idea is to focus on 1 Color ("Hue") Everyday in November, but you can use as many colors as you want each day as long as the "Color of the Day" is the main focus/main visible color.
I've provided a Weekly version of the list in case the full 30 is too much, but you can pick-and-choose words from the full list however you'd like if you're not crazy about the colors I picked for the Weekly version, or if you want to shorten the challenge in a different way. - Do note though that the 5 colors I chose for the Weekly version were selected to specifically work well as a 5-color "mixing" palette to make those 5 colors stretch farther as a limited palette, if you're up for a little extra challenge. Based on this video by Peter Donahue.
Tagging me is appreciated, but not required! However, do note that I will Like & Share posts that I can easily identify as being related to the challenge on platforms where I'm able to do those things. If you want me to see and share what you made, Tagging me makes it easier!
Remember that my views on these Month-Long Daily Challenges is that it's about the challenge of completing a certain amount of creative pieces in the time given...And that's pretty much it, so as long as you're doing that and having fun, I'm really not bothered about how you choose to follow the list! My Inktober motto has always been "work smarter, not harder," and this is no different!
I think that's all the stuff you need to know to participate, but if you're curious in hearing more about my thoughts/process in putting this challenge together, read on!
----------
Would you Sparklers believe that I was so excited about sharing this that I had trouble staying asleep until time to get up this morning? 😆 It's true!
Either way, some of you are probably wondering just as much as I am what exactly has gotten into me lately: First I make my own prompt list for October—something I can't say I ever previously thought I'd do—and now here I am just having finished that list with yet another daily, month-long challenge...And I made this list, too! 😱
Some of you may have noticed that as we went through Obscutober this year, there were various points where I hinted at working on something marker-related and/or something for November. If you haven't figured it out already, this is what that was about! 🤭
And you'd think I would have learned my lesson about taking on one Daily Challenge after another back in 2021...
I'm sorry, Sparklers, I just had the mid-typing realization that the last time I took on a daily challenge in November was also immediately after the last time I did Obscutober instead of Inktober and my brain froze for a second. How did I not notice that before??
What was I saying? Oh.
At that time, I took on @ProjectEducate's 30 Days of Art Challenge, but I also attempted to dial things way back for myself by using it as an excuse to playing more Animal Crossing: New Horizons rather that making full-blown artwork everyday..And while that did help, it still turned out to be my challenging than I expected. 😅
That's one of the primary [ha] reasons I've never participated in the "traditional" Huevember challenge for November, even though I found it very appealing when I discovered it existed. I know myself, and just the same as I typically don't have the stamina to do Inktober in a "normal" way, I know I definitely don't have the stamina to do Huevember in a "normal" way immediately following Inktober (even if I do account for the fact that I do Inktober in weird ways).
Making my own list makes that no different, but then...What are we doing here? 🤔
Well, all of this really stems from the fact that—as I believe I've mentioned somewhere before, maybe multiple places—I've been spending quite a lot of time over on Reddit discussing and answering questions about Ohuhu Markers. As it stands, Ohuhu themselves doesn't provide a ton of resources for the markers, so it largely falls back on the user community to fill in the gaps, and it happens that I know, keep track of, or otherwise have close-at-hand a lot of "gap" information specifically for the purposes of keeping my Ohuhu Swatch Chart up to date.
I also do just really like the markers, so as much of a chore as it can be to keep track of all the information at times, I really don't mind getting the opportunity to just nerd out about them a few times a week.
The thing is, as is not too difficult to notice if you look at my art posting history, I haven't actually had a whole lot of time or allowed myself as much opportunity as I'd like to make actual art with my Ohuhu markers.
So back in September while I was trying to figure out what in the world to do for Inktober this year and one of my friends offhandedly suggested a "Swatch Challenge" for Inktober, in a matter of minutes my brain connected dots from "Swatches" to > "Colors" to > "Huevember" to > "Ohuhu" to > "OhuHUE"!! "Huevember but with Ohuhu markers, specifically!!" 💡
While obviously not really at all helpful for figuring out Inktober, that did sound like a great way to take advantage of how much the markers have been on my mind lately and participate in the Ohuhu community some more beyond being, essentially, a sentient FAQ page. 😆
So, as crazy of a move as it felt—and still does—What time I wasn't planning for and then working on Obscutober during September and October (and wasn't spent either dealing with IRL things or giving myself some much-needed break time in between), I spent trying to pull things together to make this challenge possible.
Those things included (not really in a particular order as a lot of these things I went back-and-forth with at various stages):
Picking the 30 colors that would be featured. The more natural choice probably would have been to "match" Ohuhu colors to the existing Huevember colors, but after thinking it over, I decided it would be better to try and keep things more accessible, if I could. Not everyone will have the big 320 set of Ohuhu Honolulu colors to choose from, but I know a lot of people will probably have at least the "standard" 48 colors that the Honolulu line started with—Either because like me, that's the set they started with, or because those 48 colors are all included in quite a few other "standard" sets.
For what it's worth, I did consider starting with the 24-count Honolulu set colors to try and make the colors even more accessible, but that set has NO orange in it for some reason and I wanted this challenge to be as colorful as possible, so I didn't really want to include black or grey if I could help it.
In the other direction; I very nearly included R13 from the 72 set to try and flesh out the purple sleections more, but I noticed that while I was putting the suggested blends together, the light/dark blends that make the most sense with R13 made the trio-blend look nearly identical to the trio blend for PB2. So in the end, I decided to just shift the Dark blend on PB2 to a slightly more purple-y blue and leave R13 out after all.
In exchange, P3 got added to the list...which made things a little harder in figuring out the trio blends for P4, but my only other option for purple in the 48 set was R11, and in my blend testing it proved even trickier to deal with. 🙃
Picking said Light/Dark blend for each color. This most involved a lot of swatching and test blends, which was easily the longest and most laborious part of the process.
And as stated at the top of the description, I fully intended to have a sample photo to show you those blends in action—I have swatch cards all labelled and everything!—but I simply ran out of time to have that ready to post alongside the list today. 😅
I'm still going to do the samples, it'll just be either later today or tomorrow before they're ready. Either way, I'll post a link here when they are!
I'll spare you the nitty-gritty on the process of picking out said blends, but suffice to say there was a LOT of back-and-forth that took up 5 pieces of cardstock—some of them front and back—because I wanted blends that stayed "true" to the hue of each color, and still actually showed variation in the lightness or darkness of the color, but also were relatively "easy" blends that didn't take too much work to look smooth. At least on the type of paper I like to use (60-80 lb. cardstock or 80-100+ lb. mixed media paper). I did learn from another test that these blends do still mostly work on plain printer paper, for example, but it's not quite the same, so your mileage will vary a little bit on how easy the blends really are. Why did I find this step even necessary to bother with, for as much trouble as it was? Call it a symptom of the wider Ohuhu and alcohol-marker using community. People are always wondering what/how to blend clothes together well, and between that and trying to provide what accessibility to the challenge I can, offering pre-selected blends seemed like a good idea. [And, if I'm being totally honest, I didn't realize exactly how much work figuring the blends out would be and thought getting the chance to just play with color blends sounded fun when I made the decision to do it. 😅]
To that end, I also of course Determined reasonable Hex Code "matches" for each color. Again, this was largely an accessibility thing trying to account for people that either don't have the specific colors/markers listed and want to attempt to match the colors in some way, and to provide an option for any digital artists just in case any see the list and want to give it a try, especially since digital brushes that mimic alcohol marker behavior have become more popular in recent years.
As noted in the Spreadsheet, I both looked at multiple swatches of the actual real marker colors and was using some of those digital "alcohol marker" brushes to text how the selected digital color would behave. I'm quite sure some of my final choices aren't completely perfect picks, especially if you're working in a different program than I was (Procreate), but I at least stand by them as "reasonably close" options.
And just in case anyone passed by this post and is wondering, because I know I've seen people ask for it—I would in fact like to one day provide "reasonably close' Hex code matches for all of the Ohuhu Honolulu markers, but that is definitely a far-off project you should not expect from me any time soon after seeing just how challenging it was to do for these 30 alone. 🫠
Worth an additional here that I actually originally wanted to include hex matches for the Light and Dark blends to make "Light" and "Dark" versions of the prompt list itself for people who do have access to the 320 range and maybe wanted to play with color in different ways than the "base" tones, but again: Figuring out the hex matches for these 30 was trouble enough and I could tell I really, really was not going to have time to do that and the other prep work I still had left to do at that point.
Speaking of, I had to Determine Oahu matches or "close enough" alternatives for each color. Yet again the magic word is accessibility, and I've also noticed that the Oahu (no brush tip) markers just sorted get left out when it comes to Community Ohuhu Resources. Since we now have a Spreadsheet reportedly from Ohuhu themselves listing which Oahu and Honolulu colors match, it was important to me to include them, even if it was a little more work.
For all of the colors that had 1:1 matches, it really wasn't too bad. What through me for a loop was the few colors that didn't have 1:1 matches, so I had to go track down some swatch examples and make an educated guess which other Oahu colors would be closest. So there's your acknowledgement right now, just like the image says, I know at least a few of the Oahu colors aren't exact matches. Both because exact matches don't exist, but also the "closest" matches I did pick may not be fully accurate either since I don't own the Oahus and had to pick based on swatches over the internet. I'm sorry, this is the best I could do!
And of course, what I consider a key component of making Month-Long challenges accessible: I had to Put together a Weekly version!
As noted at the beginning and in the description for the Weekly version: I chose for the Weekly version were selected to specifically work well as a 5-color "mixing" palette to make those 5 colors stretch farther as a limited palette, if you're up for a little extra challenge. Based on this video by Peter Donahue. I had actually previously picked out 5 colors from the 320 Honolulu range after seeing Pete's video purely for fun. Alcohol markers notoriously aren't usually good for "mixing" to get new colors the way you would paints or pencils, but I was intrigued by his limited palette since he was working with oil paints, which kind of notoriously don't mix as vibrantly as other media. For the record, my original 320 set picks for the 5 colors are:
Y080
B070
PB2
RV080
YR3
Two of which were already in my selection of 30 for this challenge, and B070 was naturally super close to PB7. Initially, RP1 was a closer match to RV080, but in testing I found that R10 mixed better for this selection.
So really the only color I had to make a big compromise on was Y080. There's really nothing else quite like in the entire Honolulu range, but in my testing GY6 worked better than I expected as a substitute, considering the limited options I had to choose from here. And then I just lucked out that November technically takes up 5 weeks on the calendar, I just had to figure out the "spacing" so each color would get a reasonable number of days to work with, the same way that I adjusted the days for the Weekly version of Obscutober. [And frankly, that was easier to do here since November has 30 days and 30 divides evenly by 5.]
I did briefly re-visit the idea of sticking just to colors from the 24 Honolulu set so the Weekly version could be as accessible as possible, but long story short the longer I look at the color selections for that set, the weirder the stranger they seem, so I ultimately I couldn't help myself and just went with the colors I thought would be more versatile even if they're not likely to be as accessible.
I mean, after all, I was going to have a disclaimer that you can use whatever you want even if you don't have these specific colors anyway, so hopefully it won't be too big of a deal that I opted for the palette that I personally saw more use in. Oh, and for what it's worth: I did consider making a "Lite"/every-other-day version of this list like I did last month, but after seeing the "Lite" version was not a popular choice last month and acknowledging I already had my work cut out for me, I decided it didn't really seem worth the extra effort when I fully believe everyone is capable of skipping days on their own as they see fit.
And then, of course, another step that ended up being trickier than I expected: I had to figure out how to compile all of this information, or at least most of it, in a single image. (Well, okay, two images including the Weekly version, but you get the idea.)
Again, I'll spare you the nitty-gritty, but I will say that while I did clearly figure something out, I nearly completed another version in a more typical list format before deciding I didn't like how little you could actually see the colors themselves in it. I don't know about you Sparklers, but "Huevember" makes me think colorful, so that's how I wanted the list/post image to be.
In the midst of trying to figure out a better way to do the list for maximum information + maximum color + maximum clarity, I paused to work on the wrap-up template for this year's Obscutober (which yes, is still a thing I'm going to do, probably tomorrow), and it was from doing the calendar format for that from which sprang the idea to try a calendar format for this! 😃
If you look at one of my usual Inktober wrap-ups, you'll notice it's still not 1:1 because I had a lot more text information that needed to be here, but y'know I think it was a pretty great solution, all things considered. 😊
Though, for the record, the Weekly version was originally going to have the bars for each "week" in proper calendar format too—spread over the actual calendar days each one would take up—but that was scrapped because the longer I looked, the more confusing that layout looked for the actual information. So I sacrificed the cheekiness in the name of making it clear and easy to get the information you need from that version.
You might have guesses that even though I was working on this in the background for nearly two months that I still maybe bit off more than I could chew by the fact this is going up both on November 1st instead of a couple of days in advance (like I was very fortunately able to manage with Obscutober) and it's also going up in the very-late "afternoon" instead of more like around lunchtime. 😅
I really, really did my best to have everything ready before now, but the last couple of weeks of October proved much busier than I expected. I probably should've seen that coming because that always seems to happen when I'm working on a time-sensitive project that's big and important to me, but I can't see the future and I can't just never work on another big, important project again because I'm afraid that'll happen, so... 🤷♀️
I just have to accept this is the way things turned out and try not to be too hard on myself about it. It was a lot of work and still deserve credit for that, at least!
Speaking of: Some of you might be wondering about that long-ago mentioned point: "I know myself, and just the same as I typically don't have the stamina to do Inktober in a "normal" way, I know I definitely don't have the stamina to do Huevember in a "normal" way immediately following Inktober..." That is still true, and I do not plan to approach my challenge here in a "normal" way either, for that reason.
But, much like my logic of "well, I made the list, I should use it," for Obscutober, after all the work I put into this, I am still going to use the list/participate, and not just the Weekly version either. [Though I fully admit just doing the Weekly version would probably be the smarter thing to do for me...]
I'll try and keep this brief since the description is certainly enough of a book already and the sooner I can wrap this up and get it posted so other people can actually participate if they want to, the better, but:
I've been wanting to get back into just coloring in Adult Coloring books (or single pages made for that audience) occasionally, as I've unintentionally moved away from that hobby for a few years when I used to do it all the time. When I first started, the hobby was still pretty new and niche, and sharing finished pages felt "wrong" to try and mix in with my regular art posts, but things have noticeably changed since then.
And in particular, using Ohuhu markers in adult coloring books has actually become pretty common.
So that's the first part of what I'm going to do to try and scale this challenge back so I can still particpate be hopefully not overwhelm myself: After some consideration of options, I've printed out some of Johanna Basford's similar illustrations on small, 2.5" x 3.5" cuts of my favorite mixed media paper—Artist Trading Card size!—and those are what I'm going to color for the month.
The second part of how I'm going to scale back is that, while I am going to actually color something every day for the challenge, I'm only going to post my finished results once a week. Because I found/remembered during Obscutober that since I both like to type out these long descriptions (even when it's not really necessary) and cross-post to about a dozen places, the actual posting-everyday-process is what really wears me out and gets me down, often far more than making the art itself typically does. 🫠
I admittedly had much grander plans and was hoping to still post every day in some way when I first set out to make this challenge, but I think if you've read the description this far, you'll understand why I had to change course for my own sake. 😅
Speaking of...Let me think for a moment if this might be it, if I've explained everything I wanted to both about the challenge itself and my approach to it...
I think so, but there was a lot to cover so hopefully if I did leave anything out, it wasn't that important and I can either edit this description or just touch on it at some later point during the month.
Either way, I hope if anyone does want to participate—as I am boldly assuming at least a few people will—I hope you're not too upset and/or can forgive me for not being able to post this sooner so you could get started sooner. As discussed, I did my best and I feel any frustration or disappointment you may have with the posting time of the list, 100%. But I am unfortunately only one human that can only do so much in a day's time that does not have the budget to hire an assistant to help me do stuff like this at this point in my life. 🙃
Oh! For the record, I don't plan to make this a yearly thing, which is why I've not put a year on the image or in the title. Mainly because having to pick all-new colors would really mess with the various points of accessibility I've tried so hard to keep, so if this does turn out to be a thing people want to do again, my plan would honestly be to just use the same list in perpetuity, and maybe just add onto it with some of the things and ideas I didn't have time to flesh out the way I wanted this year. However, that said, I'm not fully opposed to revisiting the idea of wholly new color assortments in the future if this version proves successful enough. What exactly that "enough" is I won't know until I see it, but I did just want to lay all my cards on the table for people who might be curious about long-terms plans here. Now, if you all will excuse me, I best go ahead and get this cross-posted while there is still some sun in the sky and, as mentioned, after that I still have a few other things on my plate that need my attention for the day—including my own participation in the challenge!
So, whether you choose to participate or not: Here's to starting the month off strong and having fun! 🥂 And good luck to us all!

Hello Shi-Shi! It’s already been two months already and I am dumbfounded at how fast time goes, I swear it was just the start of June yesterday haha. I hope you are doing well!
Not much has happened since I last spoke unfortunately. I had Softball provincials last weekend so that’s exciting! We didn’t win or anything, but we played good and I’m kinda sad it ended so soon. Where I am, we’ve had a lot of rain so lots of my games were cancelled this year, unfortunately.
I’m still learning to driving! I’ve gotten better, definitely, but I still need a bit of guidance and help sometimes, especially when driving through the city. I really enjoy driving; it’s unfortunate that schools ended so now I don’t get to drive to school every morning and drive back, but I love the times that I do get to drive.
I’ve seen your recent artworks and I absolutely love them! I’m sure you’ve seen me pop up every now and then to like your posts. The Bluestreak one, with its beautiful colours and all that, is perhaps my favourite (I may be slightly biased as Bluestreak is one of my favourite TF characters,,) but all the others are wonderful too! Especially the Ratchet one haha, he looks so confused or traumatized. I also love the two grumpy children and the happy baby bug, they are all so beautiful ^^.
And the Mermay drawing of Leona! That one is so gorgeous, he looks so cheeky and the lighting is so well done! All the details, it’s just *chefs kiss*. I didn’t make anything for Mermay this year unfortunately (or maybe I did,, I’m not sure anymore, I’ve been on a drawing roll with a lot of drawings, I’m making a humanformers Jazz/Prowl right now!)
I think after all this text, that’s it haha. Don’t want to make this a whole essay, after all. I hope you have a good day/night, Shi-Shi!
-Meister/Vexian?
Hi there Meister! It's nice to see you again! I saw your message in my inbox and gave a little hop. Time really does fly doesn't it?
I'm sorry to hear that you were rained out for so much of your season. That being said, I think that so long as you had a good time with the games you played, it's a good season.
I didn't drive myself to school until college, so I had a different learning curve than yours. I also didn't enjoy driving just because it takes a while to get from Point A to Point B where I live, but I can say that learning to drive is definitely a slow process. If you like doing it, you'll be driving well and comfortably quickly (a lot faster than I did hehe).
I'm very happy you liked my latest pieces. I've been stuck in an extended rut and have had to fight tooth-and-nail for every picture I draw. But returning to comfort characters (I too have a soft spot for Bluestreak) and putting some of my more ambitious projects on hold has helped a little. Mermay is the only art-event-thingie I actually try to put something out for, and as I said on the Leona picture, I BARELY squeaked him in. Getting art ready for a prompt like Mermay or Inktober for example, can be a challenge so more often than not I'm in the same boat of "didn't make anything for it this year" Kind of like how I always say "I'll make it to the art-fight next time" and never do lol
I'm glad to hear from you and happy that you're doing well Meister, or would you rather I use Vexian now? I wish you good luck on your art pieces and that drawing roll will continue~ Have a wonderful day/night

Good Morning!
Happy 1st of November!! \o/ I hope all who were doing inktober are winning, everyone who chases fancy drops in FF14 is having blessed rolls and all of the Sun Haven squad is enjoying the new updates...and romanceables! And...all who attempt NaNoWriMo are prepared!!
So Inktober... as expected I got behind xD; But it's fine, between everything else I managed fairly well all things considered. I didn't want to post progress and stress myself so hopefully sketchbook flip through when I'm done...somewhere in November ... :D;; I did make it up to around 12th-13th and then slowed down and gave up :D;; but picking a smaller sketchbook definitely helped!
I wasn't as active in October as I would've wanted, truth is work gets extremely busy after September with all the holidays and events, it's honestly like a landslide lol More often than not I don't have the energy to draw or do much beyond watching a bit of tv and go to bed super early. I'm starting to fall behind with my Sneric comic work flow too, which bothers me to no end xD;; But I hope I can catch up in the weekends.
Speaking of... I made myself a new cozy creative corner by ..combining some old furniture pieces... it looks wonky but it works xD;;
I just need a bit of fairy lights to attach around and I'll be set! :> Sadly now come the days of it's dark when i go to work and dark when I come back from work ... u.u and weekends can be so short... I also got to clean up and throw away old art supplies.. which reminded me once more, I need to use my markers more before they dry up lol;;;;
I don't know how I will fit time to read between everything I try to do buuut I ordered myself some spooky books during the Halloween discounts and kinda excited to get lost into some murder mystery and disconnect from the web for a bit!! :D So I hope I get to sweep these books through the month as well!
But yeah, I'm around, I'm just going to be permanently tired pigeon until mid December it seems ;u;! I hope you all are doing well! A thank you to all the new faces who followed this blog recently!! I hope I'll provide something fun to follow :D I'm still very much into Sun Haven, even if I'm so slow and barely fit time to play, I still have fun drawing Ary and Claude and I'm so floored by how much people seem to like them! Thank you so, so much!
And that's it, thank you for stopping by~ I hope you have great rest of the day and a November full of inspiration!

I'm feeling incredibly apprehensive and there's no real reason for it. I hate it.
I decided a thing. I really, really want to do one painting a month this year. Historically, I'm awful at long term goals. Awful.
I also want to participate in NaMo - National Model Painting Month. Which is a little hilarious after giving up first on Inktober within days, and then NaNo in just as little time. But.
The painting a month thing - I want to use my own photos of, presumably, around here. I think that I can successfully take one pretty scenic picture a month. I have one that I plan on using for January. At least, the color scheme works just fine. I need to go back out there and get a better cropped shot and adjust.
With that photo reference, I think I shall also add a unicorn. Random unicorns. Because I can. I also already have a reference photo found. Cute little Welsh Cob with beautiful lighting. Really feeling a high stocking chestnut on this one. I'll get some good purples in there, and the yellow lighting will really make the copper coat pop. It'll look great with the sky.
And with these paintings a month, maybe I actually sell art? Like, actually have physical stock to sell. And if i feel like doing digital art (which I do, it's just complicated relationships with ... doing), I can use MY characters. Maybe eventually print out prints, sell those for cheap, too. Something like 200% cost of print cheap.
I dunno. I got a raise. I'm just tired of struggling. And this is art I already want to do. If i can sell it, awesome. But convincing myself to do a thing? It's ... so hard. Plugging in the tablet is a chore, let alone paints. Probably start off with acrylics simply because they're easier, even though i long for the blending capabilities of oil.
Which brings me to NaMo. I'll be painting my Georg in the pintaloosa bay. I'm desperately trying to strip him now and outlook isn't great. I don't know what I'm doing. Reprime in black if I can get the bubbles and cracks out of him, and he'll be good to go. He's prepped enough besides; I give up. He's BETTER prepped than other customs I've seen of him that go for more than what I plan on asking (minus primer fucking up on me). Which, depending on how this goes, I don't want to take less than $300 for him. $350. He's hair by hair. If I pull it off, he should be worth double that.
Turns out that I bought GOOD oil paints a while back. I think I NEED to use those on Georg. Maybe do whites in acrylic, pinking in oil on top, but base in oil. Because that bay will be demanding and I know how much acrylic will want to turn on me.
I just. I need to do it. I need to do things. Maybe it's the seasonal depression talking, maybe it's the overworked burnout talking, but I'm tired and I love the idea of doing, but I'm stuck again.

Here’s my note before I’ll get started….
(DON’T YOU EVER COPY FROM MINE OR MY FRIEND’S WORK, CHARACTERS, AND STUFF IF ONE OF YOU ARE IMPOSTERS WHO HAD HABITS OF PLAGIARISM! I WILL BLOCK YOU FROM MY BLOG IF I SEE YOUR POST WITH MINE OR MY FRIEND’S ORIGINAL WORK BEING EDITED ALL OVER! I’LL EVEN SHARE IT ONTO MY BLOG SO IF EVERYONE WILL SEE THAT YOU TRYING TO COPY MINE OR MY FRIEND’S THINGS FOR NO GOOD REASON WHATSOEVER! That will be all….I mean it.)
Verbatim Store ‘n’ Go USB 3.0 Drive (64 GB) (Installation and Transferring) - Part 2/Final (Nov. 19th, 2022)
🇵🇷Me: Welcome back to this continuing topic review of my USB Drive. After carefully unboxing during part one, I’m now be doing installation and transfer some of my artworks to check out. However so far, I had going for once or twice of transferring artworks and put it into folders. I can do more if I could still, but here it is that I got them stored from last week. Though don’t know if this will be the last during this topic review. Sure hope I can get my own computer/desktop in the future after going around with my iOS device. What that being said, let’s get right on it.
(10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th Images)
🇵🇷Me: First I had to do is showing some photos I’ve took with my old iPad Mini. Thankfully that it still had some data despite having its full storage. Anyways, here’s what I set up to install my 5th generation iPad with my Verbatim USB Drive. It’s simple as I plugging to the lighting connector. However, I got a notification as expected; pacifically told me to install the app. Though I could just go to the App Store by search when finding “Store ‘n’ Go” app regardless.
🐰🖌Maxwell: Yeah, but at least you got that app installed. Looks like you’ll be using that when trying to transfer/store with your USB Drive.
🇵🇷Me: Exactly. Now when I visited this app that shows I can store or transfer any photos, videos, music, and more. Which is a good thing if I can do on music and videos via recordings for example.
🐰🖌Maxwell: How about taking a closer look of the external storage after plugging your USB Drive right in? However, it seems the numbers of gigabytes doesn’t match of what it supposed to be 64.
🇵🇷Me: This is because the same way I did with my Sandisk 128GB memory card for my Nintendo Switch; back in January 2020 if you remember, right? It counts for something.
Link Here
🐰🖌Maxwell: Oh, yeah. Just checking, but at least it looks fine regardless of how numbers was being showed. Anyways, how your transferring going?
🇵🇷Me: Doing fine. I went to create one file/folder renamed “Inktober 2022” where I transfer my previous Inktober art that I posted back in October this year. This is what I’m going for of testing it out storing my art. It took about few seconds before completion in progress. As long I needed to be careful not to accidentally unplugged or damage my USB Drive. Hoping I’ll make sure to take care with it while using.
🐰🖌Maxwell: Mhm. Though hoping you could’ve do all of your stuff that you’ll be saving later. I mean you still had plenty room to store of your USB Drive. You even came back to do with your V2 artworks of us.
🇵🇷Me: So far you had 58.11 GB from your USB Drive. Still you can do all of your stuff from your iPad devices anytime.
🇵🇷Me: I know. Though after going through this, it safe to say that my Verbatim USB Drive works out fine. Hoping It can hold plenty of my artworks, videos, and music to store with it. Then next time I can get a new USB Drive with bigger storage in the future so I’ll make a note to it.
My thoughts:
🇵🇷Me: From plugging to my 5th generation iPad and installed “Store ‘n’ Go” app, It was a good start when testing out to store my artworks so far. It won’t be long before I can go back again and make sure to store all. As for the design of the USB Drive itself, it was good too with protection caps to secure both Lighting and Type-A connectors. I’m promise it’ll won’t lose it when putting back.
🐰🖌Maxwell: That’s right. Hope everyone and to our closest friends enjoy this post. Though wish we wanted to continue this like after storing some of his art so far.
🇵🇷Me: Yeah, but I would be continuing for further postings if I can. At least my USB Drive is in safe hands now. Don’t think it’ll be the last time when covered it despite sharing this final part. I don’t wanted to be confused, though. Anyway, if you wanted to know where I can find this was my mom brought from Staples store months ago. However, you can find in Amazon.com for the price of $34.00; meanwhile at Staples.com that cost $39.99 in 38% off. Until if the price can change, though.

@soxthebox oki dokes i hope i did this right 😌👍
1. i have ibs paint on my phone, but i never use it for it’s intended purpose. i just occasionally use it to very quickly make stupid memes whenever the situation calls for it lol
2. front facing and/or 3/4 is my go to, but i’m practicing my side profiles (:
3. most of my oc’s i still use today stem from my childhood fandoms. like for example, the characters i use for my lil comics were organically my shitty fnaf oc’s and now they’re high schoolers isn’t that neat
4. i love how hands look and when i make good ones i have been blessed but my god is it hard to make a good one 😭
5. i post all of my digital works, but not often do i post my traditional pieces. usually the only way you’re gonna see my sketchbook work is if i transferred the sketch and redrew it on the computer if that makes sense lol
6. other people for sure. there are so many interesting people at my school with cool hair and fashion senses and i have definitely let that seep into my work whether i acknowledge it or not
7. all arts i don’t participate in lol. but for sure watercolors. they’re so pretty and light, i wish i could use them
8. i kind of go through phases for my two main “universes,” the superhero one and the high school one. some days i’ll be developing the backstories of these angsty superheroes, and the next day i’ll be writing all the favorite foods and celebrities of my high school characters. the duality of man
9. i think the question means what i usually name my files. they can range from something normal like “snazzy six comic 4” to something very stupid that i will definitely forget if i need to go back to it later like “OhOHoh DELICIOUS i need to eat this” and i hate when past me does that
10. love me right spaghetti strap tops, they’re easy and look cute so that’s a double yass
11. usually either music or youtube video essays. i made a playlist where i put all the long ass videos i find into, and whenever i plan to draw i just open up that bad boy and hit play, removing them when done
12. the neck is pretty chill. but the shoulders is where the problems start
13. myself lol actually idk i should be following more specific creators and all but honestly i’m kind of just existing and stuff at the moment
14. plaid?
15. usually just at my desk, anywhere else is to uncomfortable
16. not sure man, i don’t necessarily think i’m good at anything 🧍♀️
17. usually just water. i don’t have the energy to get food from the kitchen lol
18. uhmmm yea

Weirdly Specific Artist Ask Game
Didn't see a lot of artist ask games, wanted to make a silly one.
(I wrote this while sick out of my mind last year and it's been collecting dust in my drafts, I might as well let it run free) 1. Art programs you have but don't use
2. Is it easier to draw someone facing left or right (or forward even)
3. What ideas come from when you were little
4. Fav character/subject that's a bitch to draw
5. Estimate of how much of your art you post online vs. the art you keep for yourself
6. Anything that might inspire you subconsciously (i.e. this horse wasn't supposed to look like the Last Unicorn but I see it)
7. A medium of art you don't work in but appreciate
8. What's an old project idea that you've lost interest in
9. What are your file name conventions
10. Favorite piece of clothing to draw
11. Do you listen to anything while drawing? If so, what
12. Easiest part of body to draw
13. A creator who you admire but whose work isn't your thing
14. Any favorite motifs
15. *Where* do you draw (don't drop your ip address this just means do you doodle at a park or smth)
16. Something you are good at but don't really have fun doing
17. Do you eat/drink when drawing? if so, what
18. An estimate of how much art supplies you've broken
19. Favorite inanimate objects to draw (food, nature, etc.)
20. Something everyone else finds hard to draw but you enjoy
21. Art styles nothing like your own but you like anyways
22. What physical exercises do you do before drawing, if any
23. Do you use different layer modes
24. Do your references include stock images
25. Something your art has been compared to that you were NOT inspired by
26. What's a piece that got a wildly different interpretation from what you intended
27. Do you warm up before getting to the good stuff? If so, what is it you draw to warm up with
28. Any art events you have participated in the past (like zines)
29. Media you love, but doesn't inspire you artistically
30. What piece of yours do you think is underrated

Look at these meow meows. I’ve gotten so much better at art.
P.S. if you wanna see my middle school art it’s under the break
Ok so this is from 2015. I was in middle school and this was my first creative scene that wasn’t a character standing looking straight at the fourth wall.
Look at those cutie patooties.
Next is 2016, with a significant improvement already. While I never drew seriously wanting to improve my style before the first drawing, I spent a year developing how I drew and this was the result of that. Do they all have the same face? Yes. Is it impossible to tell at a glance which character is which? Definitely. Still better than the first one tho
Now we’re onto 2017. I did this in one night for inktober. Some of the proportions are a little wonky, and I knew that at the time, but I kinda rushed to get it done. Though, my Facebook friends thought it was pretty cool.
Up next is 2018, the first digital piece. I did this on my phone with my finger. Also, the characters finally have different fur patterns! Even if three are solid color cats, it’s more detail than before.
Now here’s 2019. I upgraded once again to a drawing tablet and Paint Tool Sai. Nowadays it’s not my preferred software, but it was a really nice one to start off with. I also played around with lighting, trying to make sure that the light source was consistent with the background and to make the shading more than an airbrushed black.
2020 had a dramatic change! Still on Paint Tool Sai, you can tell that I am more comfortable with drawing on the computer. My favorite bits have always been the cat in the foreground and the angry spiky one
I went in a more stylized direction in 2021. Though the background is a little strange, you can really tell I was trying, especially compared to the empty plane of green from the last year.
And again, here is this 2023’s version! This took me like 8 hours of solid drawing. I also only used the lasso for all the coloring and shading. I’ve been a big fan of cell shading recently, I will admit.

Inktober-ember Beast
Describe yours?
Traveler! Traveler! Um, just a moment, of your time! I see you’ve taken a liking of that mountain, which is fine…
It certainly has its beauty, intrinsically, for all to see!
I must press that you address,
— Oh well yes, you see; It just comes to me. I don’t rhyme all the time. Only when truth is prime! So may I tell you what you want to hear?.. Okay, brilliant, I’ll try to make it clear.
--
None have seen it, they only felt its wake. When it prowls around while live and awake. But it is known that a beast lies within, Its needs known to those who care to listen.
And I, myself, am one of that sort; And so I’m here, for you, to report, All facets that hopefully thwart, The likely chance you will distort. … Yes distort, it’s what the beast can do, it’ll turn your brain black and blue. … Well, it’s best before I regale you more that we put a face on the beast of this place. Don’t you agree?.. Ah well you see! Technically, more that you don’t: I mean to say, there is one way to convey: my method; else won’t. Concepts and idioms are this beast’s choice of wear. As it always lurks in the dark, here or there. And such I shall describe what it must be like, For when it’s unfortunate enough to strike It slumbers like a dragon and has the same desires to boot! A snidey little hoarder who’s quippy and rather astute. Hm, yes, I said little, and mean it too, like a cockroach or a snake; the beast is never far away from you! It lurks, watching like vulture for the soul You feel its breath on your back; you swap role.
…Hmm yes, it is a form of possession, One that elicits a confession; Distorted and abrupt aggression, With disregard for any discretion. Ah, but I am yet to finish my metaphorical sketch For with that all I say will have a place in your mind to etch although this has reminded me Of Its most unique quality: I see it with scales or chameleon flesh, That gleam and glean your seen figure afresh: Forced introspection, a kind of horror, Its game’s aim; opposite of restorer. …The mandibles of a spider, the wings of a vulture, and scales of glass? If that helps you remember what I have said, then sow visual seeds like grass I do appreciate your imagination it’s of another class!.. Oh, you wish to know what route to take, you are confused there’s no beast bypass. …Ah well no, although, the mountain’s treacherous climb may call the beast. What I describe lies not in rock, It’s paired with us until deceased. Crawls out of whatever crevice It’s in, From some deep patch of your rotting foul skin. Oh I do not mean to be rude, Nor should you be so prude. I’m sure by now we have rapport, And we both know we’ve all done stuff before! Degradation is one with life, But when aligning it’s hard strife, Like lens it burns, rubbing repeatedly, It then necrosing so conceitedly. … Conceitedly may seem an odd word choice, But see yourself like a puppet with cues, And those sores like lost strings that devoice, And in fact now sing shared tune of beast muse. … yes some do say it’s a horror story, it is not to amuse; And some may say cautionary; I do grant you should be wary, But it is real, it’s you, to avoid like the plague and accuse; Is to, in some sense self-abuse, and set a light quite the fuse. There is no trick, there is no game, You treat it all the same, With compassion and understanding, You’d be surprised how far you get with those two, I am here information-handing, Because I think that’s what we are ought to do! It may be the witty scholar in my blood, Or the mathematician under the hood: There’s no evil or good just misunderstood. So learn and ingest, give bait to the beast; Guide it to something in which you both feast. Because then it’s strings are again your own, And you saddle it like dragon or throne! Take back those lost strings, For you chorus now sings. Beast brazenly behaves. Selfish suffering shall soon stave.
…
I don’t know if you noticed, about being true; I do rhyme every time when being frank to you; I said within and listen a half rhyme at best, I know it’s half true and I will tell you if pressed— It want’s me to talk, regardless of if I should. It curdles, boils, raving, and ranting in my blood. It too thinks you should listen to your beast’s echoes. It want’s brethren within to make you fall and kneel. I know the sweetness of merry mirage meadows; I pick and crush flowers while frolicking with keel. It will give you taken strings and play you a tune, It waxes slope, you look over edge and stumble. I— you, don’t let our pied piper make us buffoon, I must not let sense of self and morals crumble. It smells the nicotine, pheromones, and more. It tastes iron from other’s insides turned gore. I must know me and all, if I don’t it befall It knows you so better, it will tell if you crawl I and it abuse both; added cogs between fix It and you soon to mix, like souls in river Styx We know our comforts from the easy aligned goals. We like to numb, we like to blind; we share controls. We’re put on track so we can’t go back, a knack! We don’t know what we want, we are our own claque. ----------------------------------------------------- Well that's a long one, somewhere around 1000... Oddly I think there's still more to do on this, but also that kind makes sense because of the subject... Anyway I'm tired and it is late, so here is where I say, what is now obligatory... Have a swell upcoming unconsciousness!

Gender Roles? Sushi Rolls!
Date Night collides with Daddy Issues.
Suptober prompt: Fish Flufftober prompt: All the Hugs Fictober prompt: "Is this safe?" Inktober prompt: Fairy
(Read on AO3)
He can't help it. The words push their way past his lips again. “For real, though. Is this safe? Cas, are you sure this is safe? We're not gonna get brain-eating worms or something from this?” In the seat next to him, Cas only sighs. With a single gust of air he eloquently expresses both infinite patience and bone-deep irritation. Dean raises his hands in apology.
“Okay, okay. I'm sorry, I'll be quiet.” He clamps his mouth shut but his body language still speaks and Cas hears it, as usual. His face falls.
“Dean, do you want to leave? We can leave,” he offers.
Dean shakes his head. “No, Cas, I–” he protests, but his husband cuts him off.
“I'm sorry I suggested this. You said it was my turn to pick, anything I wanted to do, but I see now that I should have picked something else. Let's just go.” He starts to stand. Dean grabs his wrist.
“No, stop. It's fine. Sit down. I'm sorry. We're doing this. You want raw fish for dinner, we're getting raw fish for dinner. It's fine.” Cas settles back into his seat while Dean fiddles with the menu in front of him and tries once again to sort through the unfamiliar choices listed there.
“See anything you want to try?” Cas prompts.
Dean shakes his head. “Dunno what any of it is,” he admits with a grimace.
“May I order for both of us?”
He nods glumly in reply, eyes cast down. Suddenly, absurdly, he realizes he's going to cry. He has no idea why he feels that way, which sucks. But then a moment later he understands exactly where these tears are coming from, which actually sucks even worse. He sniffs.
“Love, what's wrong?” his husband asks, his voice soft.
“S'just... If Dad was here, he'd be so pissed at me.” Another sniff, and the tears are falling now. He swipes at his face with the back of his hand and continues, “Sittin' here in a sushi bar with my husband? He'd call me a fuckin' fairy and drag my ass outta here. Probably beat me black 'n' blue in the parking lot.”
Beside him, Cas growls, and Dean can hear his teeth grinding when he clenches his jaw. “Dean...” he begins. He picks up a pair of chopsticks off the counter and snaps them in half, lengthwise. Then he bundles the halves together and snaps them all neatly in half again. He clenches the pieces in his fists, then releases them and folds his hands together. “Your father was an asshole.” he states primly.
Dean is shocked into laughter. The awful sick pressure that had been building in up in his chest pops like a soap bubble. “Jesus, Cas, tell me what you really think,” he challenges, feeling almost playful in the wake of that tension.
“This is neither the time nor the place for me to give you my full opinion of John Winchester,” Cas assures him. “Suffice it to say, I acknowledge the struggles which shaped him, but I do not absolve him for his choices. He loved you and your brother very much, but the twisted, destructive ways he expressed that love? I cannot forgive him for any of it. You and Sam deserved all the nurturing care, all the hugs and kindness and support, that a parent could give. But your father chose instead to use you both as a dumping ground for his pain and self-loathing. He was an asshole, and he's dead, and you need to stop letting him express his shitty, uninformed, toxic opinions about your lifestyle choices from beyond the grave.”
Cas punctuates the end of this speech with a beckoning gesture to the waiter. They converse in fluid Japanese for a couple of minutes while Dean sits numbly on his stool, mouth agape, just processing.
After the server departs, Cas turns to him with an inquiring look. “Do you disagree?” he asks, one eyebrow raised.
“Not in the slightest,” Dean admits. “I'm evicting John Winchester from my head.” He pantomimes grabbing something at his temple and throwing it to the ground. He has to admit, the action really does leave him feeling lighter.
His husband nods approvingly. “I'm glad to know it's just the two of us on this date for once.” The waiter returns with a squat ceramic bottle and two small cups. Cas pours each about half full, hands one to Dean, and holds the other up. “To us,” he offers.
Dean returns the toast, knocking their cups together gently. “To us.”

It's back: Sparktober Bingo! 🥳
Like last year, I collected a bunch of 2022 -tober prompt lists into one google doc here. (Links to original prompt lists, where you'll find their hashtags and AO3 collections, are on the google doc! The prompt lists are top-notch this year so I highly recommend checking out the originals.)
Add in a list of Atlantis episodes, crank up the soft-serve machine, and…
How to Play:
Choose a mix of “flavors” from the prompt sets below the cut, then paste it into this fandom bingo card generator.
Adjust your browser size til it looks right and take a screenshot!
Sparktober Bingo Rules: (there are no rules)
Complete a row/column, corners, or a blackout of your card by November 1, or not! Update as you go. Spontaneously declare victory whenever you feel accomplished.
Tag #sparktober if you want us to reblog your bingo card & creations!
All fan-works are allowed: art, edits, fic, meta...
You are allowed to pull multiple cards until you get one that inspires you, and you can also edit the prompt list as much as you want in advance to suit your likes and dislikes. I recommend not googling unfamiliar words from your work computer.
Because we are sourcing from multiple lists, prompts may be duplicated and occur more than once. If you get the same prompt twice in the same card, you're legally obligated to fill it. (definitely kidding)
Use the prompts liberally! Episode titles can be treated as the episode or as generic prompts (e.g. “Epiphany” can be for an episode-related fic or a prompt for an epiphany of your choice).
Flavor descriptions:
The prompt lists are below, in the following text blocks. Copy any or all of them into the bingo card generator!
VANILLA: Gen prompt lists from Fictober, Inktober, Flufftober Trektober Gen, Trektober Trek, and Spirktober.
CHOCOLATE: Smut themed prompt lists from Trektober NSFW and two Kinktober lists (links in google doc!).
ROCKY ROAD: Whump prompts from whumptober! The multiple-choice-prompts-per-day have been broken into individual prompts.
ASTRONAUT ICE CREAM: Atlantis episode list (in order, in case you only want to copy certain seasons), along with Atlantis and SG-1 characters and a few franchise-specific prompts.
TWIST: All of the above! For this flavor, copy and paste everything below the readmore. :)
Mod note: If you're mixing and matching, make sure there's a semi-colon (;) between your prompts. If you have semi-colons without prompts, you might end up with blank spaces. If you get a server error when using the bingo card generator, have some ice cream and try again!
Enjoy!!!
