Instead of Ghost King Danny (Monarchies are icky)(Danny deserves better) may I present to you Speaker of Peace Danny

In this headcanon the Infinite Realms are treated as a loose collection of states and peoples that don't always like each other and have no unifying federal government. Speakers are individuals who have earned the respect of those powers by performing some kind of communal service.

Wulf is the Speaker of the Journey, because all travel in the ghost zone has a thirty percent chance of getting so lost you'll never find home again and Wulf, as one of the only proficient portal users around, frequently helps the lost find their way home, earning his title.

Danny earns his title by repeatedly bringing peace through either diplomacy, or beating idiots up until they're ready to listen to that diplomacy. He redefined ghostly/living relations, helped Dora take her throne over her brother who everyone hated, and calmed down four separate wars and helped the ghosts involved find a resolution that wasn't 'kill each other again'.

Basically, Speaker of Peace is the realms interpretation of the superhero duties he's taken on.

thing about deltora quest that only occurred to me in hindsight is not only just how much jasmine carries the entire party on this quest but also how genre-defyingly brutal she is lol. like, this is a kid's series that hinges on riddles and puzzles far more heavily than combat - even when deaths occur, they're often the result of cleverness in some way rather than straight up combat ability. that said, let's look at the villain kill count at the end of book five of eight of the first series:

- lief: 1 - even there it's with a well-thrown bottle of cursed water rather than his sword.

- barda: 0 - i'm not counting that one unnamed sand beast, that's an animal not a villain.

- filli: 0 - he is a squirrel, this is unsurprising.

- kree: 1 - killed an invincible sorceress all by himself, good bird best friend.

- jasmine: 5 - dropped a tree branch on a mf, drowned two cannibals in quicksand, cut a giant snake's throat, shoved a dude down a pipe full of toxic mold (after having to be told not to cut his throat while he slept jfc).

idk it just suddenly struck me as really funny how this one character who isn't the protagonist is almost from a different, far more brutal story, and uses that fact to consistently be the mvp and save everyone else's asses. i need to read this series again it's been too long.

I didn't include barchie or bhva because all were endgame imo and didn't include klamille or klayley or haylijah because I ship all three and didn't want competing ships lol and spuffy was endgame in the comic books lol in my mind karamel is endgame because she can go where he is anytime but I included them anyway lol and handon is endgame in my mind as well because they would've been!! What I need you to know is that I always imagined Thalia's pine tree being like the most Christmas tree shaped pine tree ever imaginable. Like in my head, it was maybe 6 feet tall and a perfect triangle. Like a real life 🌲 So I did not recognize the tree in the tv show at first

Which is patently ridiculous bc literally right outside my childhood bedroom window in my backyard are the two most gigantic ridiculous pine trees they're probably like 20-30 feet tall and look round so I really feel like they should've been my internal model for Thalia's tree but they were not
