Poison
Tumblr media
Plot: it should’ve been known that just because you slept with him, doesn’t mean anything changes. And you can’t help but fall for his words every time
Pairings: asshole!Wally Clark x loner!fem!reader, alive!wally x alive!reader
warning(s): SMUTT!!!! Heavy angst at the end, reader gets used for sex, semi-public sex, p in v, unprotected sex (WRAP IT), no happy end, wally bullies the reader, wally is an absolute asshole unless he’s fucking the reader, fingering, degrading, tbh this is shit, NOT PROFREAD
a/n: YALL. okay so i recently binged Hazbin Hotel and this smut is based on a song from the show called Poison. I’m obsessed with it! Anyways. Lets get TO IT!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
the sound of the bell snaps you out of your day dream, making you look up from your notepad. Students are standing and making their way out of the classroom to hurry to their next class, leaving you by yourself. As you begin to pack your things you noticed a folded piece of paper tossed between the pages of your notepad. You grab it gently and open it, immediately recognizing Wally’s sloppy handwriting.
“Meet me in the janitors closet during our free period ;)”
you roll your eyes and crumple the paper up, tossing it into the trashcan as you walk out of the already empty classroom. You wouldn’t fall for his shit this time. The last time you did your heart got torn into shreds. But at the same time…god you’ve never had an orgasm like the one he gave you. It should’ve been a one time thing, well no, it shouldn’t have happened at all. You only went to his house to help him out with homework like he had requested and one thing led to another and you were pressed face down into his mattress as he ruined your insides.
the second time it happened? Well, honestly that was your own mistake. It was after school and you wanted to find a place to smoke in peace, so you wandered to the football field. Low and behold there he was, running laps by himself. In your defense you did try and leave but he’s a football player for crying out loud. He caught up quick and stopped you, starting to tease you about your habits. And one thing turned into another and you were riding him on the bleachers with your skirt bunched at your waist.
you hated him and he hated you but fuck his dick game was too good. But you wouldn’t let it happen again, especially when you realized about a week ago you like the football player. When you fully figured it out you avoided seeing like like he was a solar eclipse. Which made him pissed off, so when he noticed you spaced out in class he thought it the best time to give you the note.
before you could even fully wander down the hallway, you were being pulled into a small space. And when the chemicals hit your nose you knew exactly where you were. You ripped your arm from the quarter backs grasp and glared up at him.
“what the fuck Wally,” you snapped and stepped back to the door. Effectively, he blocked you in and pressed himself to you, against the door. You knew if you tried to leave you’d out the both fo you, and you’d hate to have everyone mock you
“you’ve been avoiding me, asshole, what the fuck,” he sneered and leaned down to be closer. The closer he got the more his scent encapsulated your sense. Fuck he smelt so nice.
“no shit, i fuckin’ hate your guts,” you sneered back and glared up at him. The only response you got was a snicker from him.
“nah, the only guts in this equation are yours while i’m fucking ruining them,” he whispered and gently placed his lips to your neck. You shiver and try to flinch away but his hand in your hair stops you from moving. You try to free your poor hair from his grasp but he grips harder and glares down at you.
“admit it, you love when i dick you down. You’re a fucking whore who loves to get pushed around by the star football player. Which isn’t a surprise, seeing how much of a freak you are.”
you should’ve been upset by his words but all you felt was arousal, that familiar hear between your legs. Why was this turning you on so much? Without too much thought behind it, you swung your arm back a bit and up. With a loud smack, your hand lands on his cheek, a harsh slap erupted in the small space. His face turned to the side from the impact, but that wasn’t what deterred you. The smirk rising to his lips made you lean back a bit in surprise and then the sudden impact on your chest settled in as he spun you around. With a harsh push, he’s pinning you to your front against the door, arms locked behind your back.
you hiss at the contact and try to snap at him but are cut off by the harsh yank from your hair along with the smack that landed on your ass. You let out a yelp and squeeze your eyes shut at the harsh sting hits you like bricks. And within seconds you’re feeling the cold air hit your already soaked cunt. He’s all but careful as he shoves his ring and middle finger into your hot cunt, making you moan out. His free hand is slapping over your mouth as he pumps his fingers in and out of your aching cunt at an aggressive speed, curling them every now and then to hit that perfect spot inside of you.
with his hand muffling your moans, you let them fly. Small pants are given from the dark haired boy as he pressed his hard cock against your plush ass that still stung from his assault earlier. Your eyes roll a bit from the harsh pace, already feeling a small knot build in your gut but it was easily ruined as he pulled his fingers out abruptly. You wanted to cry out in protest but the sound of his belt being undone made your heart leap in excitement.
He’s grabbing your hips and pulling them back a bit so your ass is out more for him. You jump a bit as you feel his tip prod at your entrance, gathering whatever wetness he could before he pressed into you. The stretch always felt a bit tight but you knew you’d be feeling like heaven in moments.
but he sat for a second, stuffed to the hilt inside of you. You turn your head a bit to look back at him but he grabs your hair and forces you to look away from him. Your confusion is dissolved as he starts to pull out only to slam back into you. You bite down on your lip to keep your cries in, loving the feel of his dick deep inside of you. His pace is all but sweet as he starts to fuck into you like a dog in rut. The soft groans coming from him were like heaven, along with the loud sounds of your squelching cunt and his balls slapping against your clit and his pelvis smacking into your ass.
you try and reach back to hold onto some part of him but he quickly slaps your hand away, keeping his hand in your hair to keep your head stabilized. And for some reason you feel like he’s trying to keep himself distant from you. After he had just bitched about you avoiding him as well.
your thoughts are interrupted as you felt that knot in your lower abdomen build up again. You whimpered softly and reached down between your legs, rubbing your clit quickly to help. Wally’s hips keep pistoning into you, trying to chase his own high as well. Within a few more thrusts he’s shooting his cum deep inside of you, painting your walls that milky white color. His finish triggered yours making you spasm a bit, feeling your liquid leak down his dick and your own thighs. You were thankful you were wearing a skirt, clean up would be easy.
after taking a little breather you started to get yourself together. You turn your eyes up to the boy, seeing his eyes clouded with thought. You stepped closer only to be pushed back, “we can’t do this again. If people found out i was fucking you my reputation would be ruined. Just stay the fuck away from me from now on, freak.”
with that, he’s moving around you and darting out or the closet, leaving you alone. You’d fallen for it again, and this time his poison hit its mark leaving you with a broken heart.
So... DID and the Daycare Attendant.
Tumblr media
I don't think I need to do an introduction to everyone's favorite Daycare Attendant, so I'm going to start this off with a description of DID and what it's like to live with it, because I in fact have it!
DID is a weird case. It's both easy and hard to live with. My alters have saved my life in some cases, and they've made me have some strained relationships as well. One moment I'm here, then one positive/negative trigger later and I'm gone and someone else is piloting this fleshy mech. I have around 20 alters, some with names, some unnamed, some fictives, some ordinary people. But funnily enough, I have two fictives that take after Sun and Moon (named Sunnydrop and Moon respectively). They're both friendly, at least Moon is nowadays, but they've been around for a long time.
A positive or negative trigger is whenever something happens that brings an alter to front. Music, games, voices, people, etc can all be triggers for an alter to front, as well as trauma or distress which are typically referred to as negative triggers. We'll get back to that later when we talk about the lights off and Sun and Moon's positive triggers.
So! How about we get into why Sun and Moon (and Eclipse) are positive DID representation!
Here's why the Daycare Attendant is a great representation of DID!
First off, I want to regard the whole "Moon is an evil alter" thing. While yes, we are led to believe that he is indeed evil, there are a few interesting things about him that still make him excellent as representation. Remember how I said my alter Moon is friendly nowadays? Yeah, well not all alters are friendly off the bat and they can be quite aggressive based on whichever trauma they are defending you from. My alter Moon defends me from my abandonment trauma and trusts no one, and therefore can get really aggressive and even violent towards people. Not all alters are going to be friendly, and while I'm not saying they'll just be murderous killers looking for the thrill of a hunt, they can be mean. Really mean.
Now I wanna get into the smaller bits. When someone with DID is going through a switch, it's not as easy as "oh well he's gone now say hi to this other guy." It can be that easy on occasion, but most of the time it is a slow and painful process. Migraines, fighting for control for minutes on end... just like how Sun and Moon react. Moon mentions his gears are grinding in his head when trying to hold off Sun, not only having a fight for control, but a migraine as well. We can also see Sun struggle with the same pain in the base game when you turn the lights off.
You can also tell the two know each other pretty well. Sun never refers to Moon by name, but it's very clear he sees him as a threat and has seen the stuff Moon has done while fronting. This is called co-fronting. When someone is still conscious and watching whatever the alter is doing while they're fronting, that's when they are co-fronting. And in Ruin, you can see they are co-fronting the entire segment. Moon also refers to Sun by name plenty, meaning they are both aware of each other and really aren't fond of not being in control of the body.
Their pronoun usage of we and us is also incredibly accurate!! When I'm dissociating, I will refer to myself as we and us due to not being the only one fronting and sometimes being unsure of who's actually in control in the moment. Sun seems to do that plenty whenever he's distressed, alluding to Moon being present or trying to front in the moment. And once Moon's positive trigger is used, aka the lights being off, he can finally assume control. It does seem like Moon has stress as another positive trigger due to Sun's usage of plural pronouns but that's more of a theory than anything concrete, so I'll move on.
Here's my favorite part... Man, Sun and Moon are very similar. Scarily so. When someone has alternate personalities, they will all share some minor similarities. Queen and I share the same germophobia, Sunnydrop and I are both artists, Moon and I both have social anxiety. Etc etc. In the case of Sun and Moon, they both are very energetic and can't stand still. They bounce side to side or move in very eccentric ways. They both have an innate need to clean up, showing a sign of hating things being messy. They both tend to laugh a lot, have similar vocal inflictions, and even growl their words (listen to Sun in Help Wanted 2, he growls so much.) They both respect not going behind the desk, and supposedly want the kids to be safe and well assuming Moon is indeed hacked and not evil from the start. They both rock the jester aesthetic too which, sure they're dressed like them but, they sure do act like clowns. In the end, the two are strangely similar outside of one of them being obsessed with killing you.
Finally... let's talk about Eclipse. Eclipse is a third alter and very similar to a fusion between the two jesters. Calm and collected, while also remaining protective and very clean-centric, Eclipse is... very clearly the "host" alter of the three. An alter that is a mixture of the others? Yeah, very clearly, he is the host, so the main personality that primarily controls the body. Meaning Sun and Moon are both alters, making Sun a positive friendly alter! Don't see those in media very often, huh? Also, the fact there's three of them makes me incredibly happy, I always see DID represented by just one alter present. But there's three! Not a realistic number by any means, but it's better than one.
So... yeah!!! That's my basic run-through of how the Daycare Attendant is a positive representation of DID! If I missed anything or if you guys have questions, please shoot me a message or comment and I'd love to answer questions! Thanks for reading if you did! We appreciate it!
Ok so here’s my SB thoughts after ruin. Spoilers ahead be warned.
The first thought is one that I haven’t actually seen people bring up but I think Cassie is dead. I’d hate for it to be true but I think when Roxy finds her at the end she possesses her and becomes the new “Charlie” if that makes sense, thus kickstarting the cycle again
Greg is absolutely a bot, but (and this is just a little thought I had based on my vague fnaf knowledge I am not a lore keeper) maybe he was made by fazent for kids like Cassie, lonely kids who have no one to play with. Then he gains sentience and starts fucking shit up. Anyways the reason I think he’s a bot is actually because of how Cassie behaved this game. She just acted a lot more human (screaming, crying, fighting back) in this game and it’s weird how different she behaved from Gregory, a kid around her age who is in a similar situation to her.
I don’t think it was grimic at the end who cut Cassie down, I actually do think it was Gregory. Mans is very morally grey, and is shown before to sacrifice lives (yeah I’m calling them lives because the bots are pretty sentient and Gregory knows that) for his goals/the greater good. I don’t think he’s evil or bad, he’s just more of an “ends justify the means” kinda person. He sacrificed Cassie in order to save the lives of the people outside of the pizzaplex, and to save himself, Freddy, and Vanessa. While it’s pretty fucked up what he did it’s not out of character, at least not to me.
If Cassie does live (which I REALLY HOPE SHE DOES I LOVE HER) then I think it would be cool to have two opposing teams of “good guys” working to defeat the mimic, they both have the same goals but have some serious beef with each other (and by the teams I mean Greg, Freddy, and Vanessa vs Cassie and Roxy (and maybe eclipse please please please or chica if her getting repaired becomes canon).
I’m still team “Monty didn’t kill Bonnie or at least he wasn’t in control of his actions when he did” btw. Idgaf what people say or how ominous the story in those cardboard cutouts looked I’m a Monty defender until I die.
Anyways I just really really really loved ruin 10/10 worth the wait I’m gonna cosplay Cassie when I go see the fnaf movie.
What's with Balloon Boy and the Daycare Attendant?
The Balloon World arcade machine exists, it's in the DA's room and both characters are involved in it. It's probably one of the most cryptic minigames in the FNAF series as a whole, but while we could ponder what exactly it's supposed to mean (maybe I'll do that for all the security breach minigames eventually), the main question I have is this:
WHY Balloon Boy specifically? Why is the minigame about HIM?
Is there a connection between the two characters? Or was it a completely random decision?
Out of nowhere, thinking about Balloon World, I came to a realization:
The Lights.
Balloon Boy's entire gimmick in FNAF 2 was that if he got into your office, he would disable your flashlight and vent lights (...somehow. I know we all make the jokes about him taking the batteries [and then that FNAF 57: Freddy In Space thing in FNAF World said he just straight-up steals your entire flashlight], but you never see the battery icon disappear or appear empty in FNAF 2 itself when he gets into your office. And the vent lights also stop working, so unless they also operate on batteries, then... does he actually take them from you?).
What's the one rule in the daycare?
Keep the lights on.
His mechanic is the antithesis to what Sun wants and exactly what Moon would want. Balloon Boy doesn't keep the lights on. He prevents you from turning them on at all.
(which also makes me kinda sad there wasn't a Glamrock version of BB. Then again, I don't know how exactly he would've uniquely affected like anything. Regardless I am hoping for the day someone in the fandom makes a glamrock bb who is arch-enemies with sun and gets along well with moon skseijdndndnd-)
It feels kinda obvious and I'm guessing I'm not the only person to think about this, but I have never seen anyone else bring this up. Not on YouTube, not on tumblr, nowhere. Maybe if I go looking for it I'll see, but i'm surprised I haven't bumped into anyone else saying this just naturally. I go into the BB tags a LOT, surely SOMEONE would've said something, right? I don't even see it noted in the trivia on the page for the arcade game on the fnaf wiki.
...but is this supposed to mean anything? Or is it just a cute little reference or callback? it's hard to say, especially with how ambiguous the minigame is.
Though I DID think of ONE thing... (possible minor spoilers for Ruin under the cut):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Saw this pointed out in a youtube video that the BB World screen (with Eclipse, who makes their proper debut in Ruin after effectively being foreshadowed by the minigame in SB's base game) can be seen on the ceiling in the DA's room. Which makes sense, obviously, but also take note of the pirate-themed windows in the hallway leading to it.
...now, which character do most of us tend to associate with Balloon Boy? His "tag-team partner," of sorts?
Foxy. The Pirate.
With this, I found that there's more Foxy-related stuff associated with the daycare area than I had previously realized because I had never made any connections before. I mean, Kids' Cove is directly linked to it for god's sake.
Like. I hope i haven't forgotten to mention anything (I've been writing this post over the course of hours 'Cus I had stuff to do in the middle of it all). My brain's kinda starting to fry. But basically: Was Foxy originally meant to be the Daycare Attendant, in-universe? Was there gonna be a Glamrock Balloon Boy with him, like as his first mate or something??? Were they gonna be connected to Fazbear Theater????? (Uh basically Sun/Moon to my knowledge from confirmation in the books and a lot of more subtle implications in-game mainly involving environmental pieces were originally meant to be in the Fazbear Theater as a stage animatronic but got moved to daycare duty instead and being reprogrammed. Which actually explains a lot about them when you think about it-)
Like. Ok I'm forgetting where I was going with this, I'm sorry, but I guess it's food for thought/adds to the weird connections between DA and BB, I guess. Idk. I can't focus that well right now to keep making new ideas.
felt like sharing my interpretation of the Balloon World minigame itself at least since earlier I did kinda finally get it down concretely:
I kinda developed a theory that Eclipse is Sun/Moon's "safe mode" and that rebooting DA reactivated Eclipse as a result. Like, they're their own AI that was at one point implemented. but then Vanny happened and locked them out thanks to the whole Glitchtrap virus thing (albeit it only seemed to reach Moon, while Sun remains seemingly unaffected. Guessing it's because they're different AIs [finally implied/basically confirmed by their Ruin dialogue). Eclipse has seemingly not been active for some time, or at least never post-pizzaplex closure, given how they're seemingly completely oblivious to the fact that this place is closed with no signs of opening.
So the minigame was foreshadowing Eclipse's existence and implying their "trapped" nature, which also could be seen as paralleling Vanessa's whole "Vanny" situation, especially given how iirc one of the messages related to princess quest can be found near the arcade machine.
[Out of Character Pinned Post!]
[the old one didn't explain much]
"What is this blog about?"
This is a roleplay/ask blog for Ruin in my AU! He's silly with some dark lore, identity issues, and fully innocent unlike in the show. This blog is also a game of choices, and all actions have consequences, whether good ones or bad. The story will progress with or without input through what I call "events", which are things that happen around Ruin that cause him to post the things he does. He's very vague and gives little to no detail on what goes on, but you can always ask him to elaborate.
(more below the cut ↓)
"Are non-sams roleplay blogs allowed to interact?"
Yes, always! Sams is all about dimensions and Ruin himself isn't even from the main dimension. Roleplay blogs of any kind are allowed, just keep in mind that you don't actually appear in the main dimension (aside from special cases, such as @blip-cluster needing to communicate through the cabinets)
Ruin is always looking for more friends or people to talk to.
"Will there be a way to sort through posts?"
Yes, soon. I'm thinking of tags to better categorize his posts. This was originally supposed to be anonymous so I didn't want to add any tags or anything that would give me away, but I've told pretty much anyone who keeps up with this blog who I am, so you can easily search through things soon.
"Magic anon?"
Absolutely. Torture him if you'd like. I mean with. With fun things don't pull an Eclipse—
"What does the colored text mean?"
The colored text is based on his eyes. He's still a fusion of Sun and Moon, but... Well... I think that's a question for him.
Blue text is for his blue eye, usually tied to fear or stress, and isn't "Ruin is sad so he's speaking in blue text."
Red text is for his red eye, usually tied to extreme emotions or heavy stress, and isn't "Ruin is angry so he's speaking in red text."
Green text is for the virus. Does it show up? Possibly in the future. It's up to the players to figure it out.
"What about names and pronouns?"
This is a bit tricky as the name will likely change over the course of the blog, and pronouns are up for debate as well. But currently the character goes by "Ruin", and uses any pronouns he's assigned. He typically uses he/they, so anything else would probably surprise him, but he wouldn't stop you.
"Who is Egg?"
Egg is Ruin's plush. It was originally supposed to have a proper name, butttt I got a bit bored of needing "names that mean something for the lore", and decided eggs would be funny since it's my comfort meal.
Egg was originally a Moon plush but its head got torn off by a raccoon that a magic anon summoned. He found an extra Sun plush that was already quite worn down and wouldn't be missed as well as a small doll hat, and someone stitched it back together for him.
Feel free to ask Egg questions, it's Ruin's favorite plush, and I assure you that he'd love talking about the little stories he's made up for Egg.
(And maybe there's secret Egg lore, I'll never tell.)
"What's the lore like?"
Well, buckle up, and I'll tell you the story.
Ruin was infested with the virus for the longest time, and when confronted by Moon with the cure, he was fully cured. He was shoved to the side and took to life in the arcade, fixing cabinets and getting better by the day, singing and performing to a crowd of nobody but himself in his room during his free time, and avoiding the cabinets that "smiled at him"
He eventually made the blog as a sort of escape, where he met his friends @eclipseoftheapocalypse and @eclipse-cluster, and eventually @blip-cluster as well. He also encountered some magic anons which summoned plushies of Sun, Moon, and his friends. Moon eventually became Egg as mentioned previously.
His mood only gets worse as time goes on, but the reason why is a reason the players will have to find out for themselves. There are many things that contribute to it, not just Moon's distrust.
"Admit it. You named the blog after a reference."
Yeah and what're you gonna do about it? Get a snack at 4am, probably.
Ruin's blog name, "agenericarcadebot", is a reference to the store in GASA4 (Get a Snack at 4AM, a game on Roblox. Absolutely recommend it), which is named "A Generic Convenience Store." I thought it would be funny. Also he's self-deprecating, so it fit.
(Special thank-you to my friends who are currently keeping this blog alive. I have so many plans for him and you guys keeping up with it makes me happy. I was scared you guys would get bored with it the second it was no longer anonymous, but seeing you guys' reactions to things he says makes me happy. I made this blog so I could see people smile, that's the whole reason, I made this blog so people who like Ruin could interact with him and have a good time. I'm glad that the original purpose wasn't retconned the second I revealed myself. So thank you, and I love you.)
Eclipse continuation! Ruin spoilers
With my theories I'm not 100% sure how Eclipse plays in but in my opinion there's too much contrasting information for me to fully believe Eclipse is their default setting. Why would they be separate ais if they are meant to be one?
What I believe might be the case is that when they became daycare attendants their ais we're merged into Eclipse and when infected by the virus, they were forcefully separated again which is why their behaviors become so extreme and why sun being the hero and moon being the villain is so prevalent (referring to my previous ask) Also why we see the implications of BB world subduing Eclipse.
To ME Eclipse seems more like a security protocol, or a transitional period. After the Eclipse segment is over, Sun says thank you. Implying they IMMEDIATELY switched back to Sun and Moon after Eclipse was done talking. I know some people who think he might've been the very first, and split later on. But given the two (Sun and Moon) tragedy masks on the theatre in BASE GAME. I still think they were separate even then. However as for Moon's violent tendencies, that might've been just the villain role he played in the theatre. In base game when he jumpscares you he only really wiggles his finger. I think the decrepit, run down state of the REAL daycare(not ar) has driven Moon more insane. Given why in his jumpscare he CLAWS at Cassie's face with no remorse, fighting Sun and what not. As for Sun being so happy, he might just be trying to cover their ass so Moon will stop scaring ppl LOL- but also? Cassie's inventory notes about the dca plushies said she had a great time here. It's a weird grey area on whether or not Moon ACTUALLY used to be so mean. So again I think eclipse plays into it as just a safety protocol to, well, reboot and reset them incase they get stuck. Which like I said in my other posts, I think Sun had gotten stuck "down under" while Moon was out- and they weren't able to switch anymore.
Obligatory SB Ruin first-impressions opinion piece
On its face, I do not like Ruin. It is not satisfying at all and simply opens up more questions in a very, VERY annoying way. And the few character moments I do adore about it are underutilized and short-lived. And that pisses me the HELL off.
Roxy and Cassie’s past and connection feel like an afterthought. It feels like it’s there to bait us, honestly. Like nothing came out of that other than an out-of-nowhere gutwrench scene that feels so cheap in hindsight. And Eclipse, god Eclipse (or as I call them when I don’t want to get canon vs fanon confused- Ruinclipse). Eclipse is great. I adore them, just like everyone else does. But there is not enough of them, not even close. In fact, I would rather have not gotten them at all because how DARE Steelwool make a character they KNEW would be fucking BELOVED and only give them like 3 lines of dialogue? And they’re great. Their voice in particular is fucking incredible. Kellen Goff KNOWS what he’s doing with character voices. But there was like none of them. And that angers me for OBVIOUS FUCKING REASONS.
My biggest gripe with Ruin is that it has things that are really fucking good, but there isn’t ENOUGH.
And don’t even get me started on how the whole mimic thing came out of nowhere and just brings up more questions and complicates things EVEN MORE. And now I am desperately digging for an un-before-discovered ending in feeble hope for SOMETHING, ANYTHING, that even vaguely SEEMS like closure or an actual fucking ENDING.
We have no background for anything, btw. We don’t know how Cassie knows Gregory, we don’t know where she came from, we know NOTHING about her.
This dlc sacrificed half-decent storytelling in favor of scares and gameplay and that is the exact opposite of what it should have tried to do. I consider Ruin a massive fucking step down from Security Breach as someone who loves Security Breach despite its flaws.
Ruin was not exactly boring like most critics I’ve seen claim, but rather the moments of excitement and good HAVE NO PAYOFF.
As it stands right now, I would honestly rather Ruin not have happened.
I will still post about it, and join in fandom hype, but not because of what it is. But rather what I know it could be. I say all of these things out of love. Because I love FNAF and I love SB and I love the direction it took, but god I hate how they have done nothing to enrich it with Ruin. This dlc honestly feels like a big waste of time. They focused on pleasing the gameplay-obsessed haters who wouldn’t have appreciated the dlc no matter what happened and completely forgot what was actually good about the initial game. And that deeply saddens me. I hope things get better. I hope whatever we uncover later gives closure, I hope there are things in the future, but as of right now this was a massive disappointment.
And honestly the bar of my expectations was barely an inch from the ground relative to the base game.
Edit: wow I sound angrier here than I thought I did when it was initially made. I promise I mean all of this in a “it’s so close to being great and I’m frustrated at how far it fell” way and this is not just me screaming “it didn’t meet a quota for the amount of things I like in it”. The lore problems are the biggest issue here (even though FNAF lore was already fucked but it’s never fun to see it get further mangled) it just specifically is extra aggravating how little of the exciting character moments we got if that makes sense.
I have a Sun and Moon show AU, and since I likely won’t do much with it, I’m gonna copy my notes on it here in case other people like it :) (might make some art for it later idk)
I’ve had this bouncing around in my head and I need to write it down, pls bear with me
The base idea is that Lord Eclipse, an alternate version of the Eclipse who Won but never met our Moon, is extremely bored with his world and decides to spice it up. He lets go and revives many of his enemies, including Monty, and revives both Moon and Lunar. He also makes himself the Lord Supreme, basically a god king with divine right to rule, and lives in a giant palace with a full staff and Sun as his faithful advisor and attendant, placing himself as the god king of a whole new earth instead of just a city.
Backstory
Eclipse - He has the typical backstory as any Eclipse, but since Moon never visited he just kept going on with what he was doing and got bored no matter what he did. He tortured Sun over and over, he subjected his enemies to humiliation, he could control everything exactly as he wanted, but he wasn’t happy. He eventually secludes himself in a giant castle, his city expanded much more than it was before for the sake of self sustaining, and rots away and watches old entertainment from the world before. One day, he becomes inspired by watching some old period dramas to completely remake the world and become a god king - hoping people coming to overthrow him and some controlled chaos would bring him entertainment.
Over the years he also grew more fond of Sun than he would like to admit, so he decided to trust Sun as his right hand in this new world.
He revived Moon for the challenge, throwing him into the world with almost no memory for Monty to find and help him. Now Moon is a freedom fighter, working with almost every character we know and more to overthrow Eclipse, but has no memory of Sun. This leaves almost a gaping hole inside him, one which Eclipse relishes in.
He also Revived Lunar because…. He missed him. In his own twisted way he liked Lunar but also doesn’t know how to express it now so he makes Sun Lunar’s caretaker and tutor as Lunar is now the prince of this world. He has unlimited games and many lavish things, but also has to attend lessons from Sun and go out on occasion with Eclipse for royal stuff.
Sun - His memory was wiped over and over again as Eclipse toyed with him and tortured him over the years, however what he remembers now is actually close to some version of the truth.
When Eclipse first took over, he dumped Sun in his city and left him to try and survive and ruined his life whenever possible. Sun came to believe he had a curse, eventually causing him to lash out with his magic and destroy a whole block. He is horrified, breaking down in sobs, when Eclipse appears out of the smoke to take advantage of this situation.
“Are you Lord Eclipse?! I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to-“
“If you didn’t mean to, it wouldn’t have happened.” “But, it can be fixed.” Using the star, Eclipse restores the area and everyone in it. Sun is amazed.
“I can help you, come with me and I’ll make sure you don’t hurt anyone again.” Eclipse says, and Sun agrees. It’s why he put up with so much bullshit, abuse, and torture from Eclipse, along with him being ultra powerful.
Now sun remembers this, with new stitched together memories of previous versions where he gained control over his powers, came to like Eclipse as he secluded himself away from the world, and now he is the trusted advisor of Eclipse’s who takes care of the “newly created” Prince Lunar. Sun doesn’t understand why Eclipse remade the world again, expanding it much more, but he doesn’t question his Lord.
Lunar - He has little to no memory of before. Maybe nightmares or vague impressions, but nothing more. He also has much more power now, not quite at the level of Sun but strong enough to not be easily killed by anyone except Eclipse. He is very much how he was like before, only with a lot more affection for Sun as basically his one friend. He is the prince of this world, theoretically meant to succeed Eclipse (but that’s never happening) and usually only sees Eclipse during public events where he has to be present.
Moon - He has some vague memories, but doesn’t remember Sun or any specifics enough for it to matter. He’s basically this universe’s New Moon, as Eclipse didn’t want to bring back a threat as big as Killcode or for any more unexpected siblings to start running around. He was found by Monty and his ragtag group of freedom fighters, and quickly becomes an agent of this rebel group. He eventually poses and disguises himself as a servant inside the giant palace right under Eclipse’s nose.
Character
Eclipse - Currently he is just very tired and jaded, but with all the work of being god king he has something to do at least. He’s also very patient with people around him, as now he has kind of grown past his childish revenge tendencies after years and years of indulgence. He’s not a good person, but he’s less openly awful when he can to keep everything moving.
He is often busy, meaning Lunar and Sun usually spend time together and only occasionally does Lunar see Eclipse. However he is always happy to see him, and Eclipse does his best to restrain himself - he even gives Lunar candy when he’s “good” (or what Eclipse deems good.)
Sun - He’s extremely loyal to Eclipse, and sees Lunar as his own kid in many ways. He doesn’t know why, but he’s just so happy to care for someone and help teach him that he’s much more cheerful recently.
He doesn’t like any rebels though, seeing them as scum and wanting to ruin his generous Lord’s perfect world.
He’s also very skilled at ice magic, and can freeze everyone in a whole ballroom if he wanted to. He’s basically Elsa in terms of what his ice magic can do, and it’s his specialty even though he does use other forms of magic less often. He is still training and learning, but is a diligent practicer. (Subconsciously, he thinks that he needs to be ready for something. That he promised someone important he would help them, even with his difficulties with magic. He doesn’t remember who, It was someone important though.)
Lunar - Same lunar as always, very cheerful, sassy, and immature. He is very curious about the world as a whole and can’t shake an aching feeling deep in his chest, but not sure why. He is very close with Sun, seeing him as his older brother and even a parental figure in some ways, and Sun is basically his one friend in the palace aside from the employees.
Moon - He is all about Justice and recovering his old memories. He knows Sun was his brother in another world, but doesn’t really like to think about it because of how he sees Sun as Eclipse’s lackey. That is, Until Moon poses as an employee and uses a disguise to hide his notable features. He meets Sun this way, and finds over time that he’s a really nice guy and takes care of all the staff really well. They form a bond during this time, with Moon being an inside agent while hiding it and Sun being the manager and highest authority aside from Eclipse or Lunar in the castle - and they form a strong friendship over time which causes Moon to be really conflicted about overthrowing everything because he knows he’ll have to kill Sun.
Some General Ideas:
- Eclipse, completely by accident, made Sun and Moon enemies with even opposite powers. However he does love the drama when he realizes what he set up, even setting it up so Rebel Moon and Servant Sun meet at certain times when they clash - he is genuinely unaware of moon infiltrating the castle though.
- In this world animatronics/robots are just normal citizens and apart of life here. The ones who were bio-mechanical from the old timeline are still that way, but everyone else is just mechanical.
- Animatronics build their kids in this world, which is a big event for them
- The world’s government is sorted into eight regions, seven ruled over by someone Eclipse selected, with the eighth region being the largest and ruled over by Eclipse himself. Each ruler reports back to Eclipse and rule on his behalf, and have varying opinions on how happy they are about it.
- Each region has their own biome and features, but laws are the same all around.
- There are nobility, however they are elected by popular vote and only live in their estates as long as they are voted in. Eclipse knows the key to keeping power is having the masses be happy, but also he just likes those kinds of dramas and likes to peek in for some entertainment while they all think this is a super serious system.
- All of this ‘government’ is a farce though, as Eclipse is the one in charge and just lets others be in control so he can have time to relax and watch the drama unfolding from all this. He liked dramas about royalty and nobility, so he made it real to get the MAXIMUM drama whenever he can. He doesn’t care about anyone, and if any of them tried to stage a coup he would make them disintegrate right then and there.
It's now been a few days since SB Ruin released, and I've calmed down some and actually started noticing things and using my head.
So, here's an update.
(spoilers ahead)
Cassie throughout the game acts as a foil to Gregory from the base game, which makes her character really fascinating. By a foil, I mean she really loves these animatronics (except for Monty and the Music Men Army). She tries her best to fix and help the animatronics she's attached to, like Sun/Moon/Eclipse, Chica, and Roxanne. This is in direct opposition to Gregory destroying them. And the foil really shows during the elevator ending.
Speaking of the elevator ending, I'm unsure if that was directly Gregory's doing or someone acting as Gregory. The vocal clipping and editing that is demonstrated in the game shows that it's entirely possible that someone acted as Gregory once again and cut the elevator lines. But we didn't hear Gregory call to Cassie through the walkie-talkie after the credits though, we heard Roxanne.
In the game files, the 'monster in the basement' is apparently called the Grimic (supposedly a mash of Gregory-Mimic, just like how Vanny is a mash of Vanessa and Bunny.) And now that I know the actual purpose of the Mimic, its addition makes sense to the story. But the thing that I'm worried about is that Fazbear Entertainment is trying to get to it. Fazbear Entertainment created the AR system for navigating the ruined Pizza Plex, Helpi, and these Faz-Wrench systems. The AR system is specially designed to find these security nodes that are keeping the Mimic locked up from being found.
These systems were quite possibly made by Vanessa, Gregory, Freddy (??), and I think Malhare was involved as well, kind of to enforce security (unless Malhare is Vanessa's own design and Glitchtrap was eradicated at the Princess Quest ending of Security Breach. But this 'extra security protocol' can set up its own connection ports??). Whatever the Mimic's potential/power level/design/purpose is, Gregory and Vanessa do not want to let it out. At any cost.
And there could be the possibility of a hivemind (although I'm not sure since it was information that I skimmed through) and I don't know if that means multiple Mimics or that the Mimic can take control of other android technology. (If anyone has that information, I would love to have it!)
Then comes the question of who would want to have the Mimic? Fazbear Entertainment corporate executives most likely, but that thing has been down there for ages. Who knows that it's down there?
(headcanon tangent time)
My favorite headcanon is that it's Henry because if he was in the deepest part of the basement, he could've easily escaped through the tunnels and blocked off the hole to prevent anyone else from leaving. Going up the elevator, waiting for the fire to calm down to collect the machinery he specifically made sure Michael didn't destroy during testing, despite knowing that the fire would happen, to give to the people making the VR game.
Including the bits of machinery in Scraptrap that would lead to the creation of Glitchtrap.
I like to think of him as a bit of greedy business man. And it would make the FNAF story really interesting (for me at least) if Henry is kind of the ultimate bad guy of the whole story, not because he's bad but I love morally gray characters and I think they have really good uses for telling complex stories.
There could be multiple different answers that belong to separate people, and that's respectable! But this answer is my personal favorite.
(end of headcanon tangent time)
I did enjoy Ruin though, especially for the sake of now the characters are a lot more plot relevant to the story, and the more sci-fi FNAF gets, the more I wonder about the potential for perhaps a time travel based game, I think that would be kind of cool because I really enjoy those AUs. Not to mention a backstory is the thing I really want from this franchise.
If now with the power of AR technology, a person can walk through objects and teleport, the next step is obviously time travel (I'm half joking, but seriously, you can walk through objects in this game and teleport, that's a little nuts if I think about it).
Okay, but Ruin gives me serious RE vibes, and I mean that in a positive way!
Especially RE7, like. You are trapped and helpless in a confusing mess of a building. You put yourself into this situation, you got yourself into trouble, you walked in here by yourself. You’re helpless because you don’t have any training, you aren’t prepared for any of this, you’re stuck and you can’t escape.
I think the atmosphere is good! There’s a constant anxiety, a feeling like, at any moment, something might leap out at you. Which, that atmosphere was what made the original FNAF games so good, the anxiety that any mistake could lead to your death!
The building is frightening. It’s confusing, it’s messy, it’s the worst nightmare of a person with a fear of tetanus (coughcoughmecough), it’s dark and the light takes a moment to turn on fully. The AR segments are brightly coloured, but not bright. There’s no light, there’s only darkness and the omnipresent feeling of someone peering over your shoulder, waiting for you to fuck up.
And SPOILERS —>
The weird mascot costumes freak me the FUCK out. The way they lay there, limp as corpses. The darkness of the room, with barely any light to illuminate them. The creeping feeling of dread as I wait for them to move, to twitch, to spring to life.
Now, this is a personal fear. Of course, not everyone will be freaked out by this section, and that’s okay! Horror is subjective, as all art is, so there’s nothing wrong with finding the DLC boring. I was on edge because of the set up and the location, and I went in without spoilers so Gregory not being Gregory was a surprise to me! If you didn’t experience the same, there’s nothing wrong with that.
I think Ruin did a better job of emulating the horror of FNAF games. The terrible things happening to children, the creepy mascots (this time in costume form), the uncertainty of whether or not you can trust the only thing offering you advice, the darkness, only illuminated by a single light, that could be hiding anything. You’re not safe, you’re never safe, and there’s nowhere that you can feel safe.
I like Cassie. I like the hints of background they give her. She’s loyal to Gregory, willing to sneak into a condemned building to look for him, because he was kind to her. Nobody showed up to her birthday party. Her dad is a mechanic. She’s familiar with the Pizzaplex and has been there before. She knows the characters and she cares about the characters and she’s grossed out but still tries to fix Chica and it’s very sweet!
I like that the devs are being subtle, in the game. Is Freddy the same Freddy as the base game, or a different one? Is Gregory the one who dropped the elevator? Is Cassie alive after the elevator dropped? The fuck is up with Eclipse imagery being around? Why were Monty’s legs claws? What happened to my darlingest baby boy Bonnie? Why would someone put security nodes in wet floor bots?
The game leaves you with a lot of questions, and I think that’s good! It’s open to interpretation! That’s the way FNAF should be! It’s so much more interesting to dissect the series when we don’t have all the answers handed to us! The meaning behind the endings, the motivations of the characters, the way Roxy said “I remember your birthday because you’re number one, twice”— all of it is so good! The vagueness of things is good.
I enjoyed Ruin, but I don’t blame anyone who didn’t.
I just finished the Ruin DLC, or at least one of the endings(?). While I want to do all endings, I can't say I know how to get them. (That is if there are multiple endings, I've heard there are, but at the same time idk. But I'm definitely in the clear to watch playthroughs of it now.)
My thoughts and spoilers beneath the cut
This was fun and scary at the same time. A fun scary, to be sure, but at the same time I don't think I got that scared. I died a few times, sure, but half(or more) of them was because I fell off a ledge to my death lol. Eclipse was fun, but it felt too short a section. But hey, he's cool, no longer attempting to kill you in the dark. At the same time, he didn't really feel like a threat, in my opinion. The Moon section in the base game definitely seems scarier than what happened in Ruin. But that's not to say it was bad, I enjoyed it a lot. The atmosphere was really spooky, and overall a good time.
Next thing, finding out that Roxy is Cassie's favorite animatronic was cool. Sure, you can argue that it was obvious, but Cassie picks up the Roxy Talkie(the name of the thing she uses to communicate with Gregory) inside the Pizzaplex, so it wasn't with her prior. Also there's one scene where Roxy actually remembers Cassie, mentioning the last time she had a birthday there, and that was so sweet. Kinda heartbreaking cause I had to deactivate her. And that one scene that was shown in the trailer when Roxy grabs you, she lets go and says sorry after Cassie yells 'Let go!', possibly when she recognized Cassie's voice?
Poor Monty, didn't really do much beyond showing up a couple times, one time pretty much submerged in water, that was cool. Guy doesn't even talk anymore, just growls and stuff.
Chica, though. She's had better days, man. Missing half her head(or at least the exosuit(?) covering her endo head) and partly melted.she barely seems to move, but in the sections where she's active, she has killed me a couple of times.
They definitely threw me off a bit with Freddy, missing his head and his chest cavity now has teeth(it definitely looks like that). So that possibly means that it's going off the Saving Vanny Ending in the base game, where you beat all three Princess Quest games and Gregory repairs Freddy's head and Vanessa is no longer Vanny(unless you headcanon Vanessa and Vanny as separate people). He's barely there though, only a short chase scene then he's gone. Kinda feels like they just went 'Oh, you know how he was always there in the base game? Well now he's there for like, 5 minutes and disappears forever.'
The mini Music Men were a bit creepy, and have a different jumpscare, they pretty much swarm you. Granted, there wasn't a whole lot of them, but definitely more than I would think there would be. No DJMM though, bummer. Big guy is one of the cooler ones.
The whole AR stuff they did in the game was really cool, too. And trying to avoid Glitchtrap was interesting in itself, which kept me from just having the Vanni mask on the whole time. It also let me turn off the Wet Floor Bots for some reason, maybe that's tied to something? Or it's just a weird thing that they added, who knows.
That ending though, what a ride, but also kinda confusing in a way. So in finding "Gregory", we actually find a robot mimicking Gregory's voice, revealing that Cassie was tricked into freeing it. Now, I have heard some predicting that this was a possibility, so not too much of a surprise, but it was still interesting. We then hear from "the real Gregory"(probably, the reveal that it wasn't Gregory that was telling us to come save him already happened, so it might be him) that he was trying to reach Cassie from the beginning to tell her not to go down there or something. But as she escapes, Gregory(or maybe the fake Gregory) shuts down the elevator and she dies. Oh, but before that, Roxie comes back and saves Cassie from the robot pretending to be Gregory(though how she found her way down there when she's blind is a mystery to me).
Overall I had a good time. Also from the few actual collectibles I found, it seems like Gregory doodled some of the endings from the main game. One comic doodle was of the fire ending, and one was the Burntrap ending. There was another one but I forgot what it was. There were likely others as well, but I didn't find those.
Oh, also Candy Cadet was there, and some gifts that had Faz Tokens that you gave to Candy Cadet to let it tell you a story. Which was basically a metaphor for you being lured down there to let the monster out.
The DLC felt like it was a bit short, but then again, it's free and honestly that's fine with me. As for any glitches, there weren't really any, except for maybe the one mini Music Man in the one vent that somehow killed me when I had escaped the vent, but whatever. There was quite the long load each time I had to respawn after dying. And a bit of a load to new areas, but honestly not that bad. None of it negatively impacted my experience with this DLC. Definitely going to play it again, it was definitely fun. Good job, Steel Wool Studios, you did good with this one. Especially since it's not a buggy mess Security Breach was when it came out(still kinda a buggy mess, but not as bad. And I still enjoyed playing it when it came out and recently).
Now to watch others play it and see what they think about it.
Also now debating on whether or not to have some of these points explored in my fnaf au with the animatronic ocs. I guess it depends on 1. If I can make it blend together with what I already had planned, and 2. If I like the result of seeing if they can be somewhat combined.
Spoiler-FULL Reactions to RWBY Arrowfell~
The thrilling sequel to this post. Most of my emotional investment has already faded by now (as is usually the case with RWBY media...) but, since I said I was gonna do this and I already made notes, why not?
Environments and NPCS -Not much to see in this game...the environments look cute in isolation, but as a gameplay element they’re just too simple (and repetitive...) to be immersive. Especially in Mantle and Atlas-- random stacks of ‘techno-blocks’ are not a real setting and they don’t feel like one. :/
-I just wish it could’ve had a stronger atmosphere...the main show already tends to ruin the little atmosphere it does create with baffling character placement and lackluster/absent color grading (seriously, the BG artists deserve better). And unfortunately it seems like the game just...copied that...
-The new NPCs were cute. A little silly, but cute; much more interesting and better for worldbuilding than the background characters in the show.  And of course the NPCs based on existing characters (Penny, Qrow, Pietro) were nice too. Even the Ace-Ops were kinda fun (Vine Zeki gained a personality trait! o_O)
-I liked how the quests tended to interweave together, like you’d complete one quest and get an item required to complete another quest as a reward-- which incentivizes you to talk to more people if you’re having trouble finding something on your own. It’s smart gameplay design like that that made me rate the game a C+; despite its simplicity you can tell it was made by professionals.
Enemies and Boss Fights -Yeah, the clone-enemies in the Atlas/Mantle portions are pretty embarrassing, but I think the selection of Grimm was nice. They all had different strengths and weaknesses and attack patterns for you to learn to deal with; you certainly can’t say they were lazily implemented. Even the clone-enemies at least invited unique strategies...I know for a fact that redheaded “BANG BANG BANG~” girl was specifically designed to be a rage-quit obstacle, and I love that for her. ^^
-The boss fights were pretty good too; nice selection of attack patterns and usage of space (especially for BRIR). Bram Thornmane wasn’t much of a final boss, all things considered, but at least he had something creative going on with the arrow patterns; there’s a little element of challenge there. Nothing super fun for any sort of mature gamer (even a casual one like myself), but I can see that being engaging for, like, a 5th grader. ^^; I guess.
-BTW: a lot of people in the comments of the release trailer remarked that the combat looks EXTREMELY lackluster for a RWBY game, like a ‘step down from Grimm Eclipse’...and although I do think Arrowfell does an okay job of being the type of game that it is, I also kinda have to agree with those people.^^; I’ve found more action-packed platformers browsing for Flash games in 2008...
Even just more expressive FX animation could have helped (a combo mechanic would’ve worked WONDERS); the act of fighting feels more like a means to an end than something the devs really want you to focus on and enjoy. It’s been said many times that RWBY no longer remembers why most of its fans were originally drawn to it-- unique, creative fight scenes that told stories about their characters through high-intensity action-- and that’s on full display here.
And on that note: if you just want to make a cheap RWBY game, a sidescrolling brawler against hordes of Grimm sprites, or even a simple PVP (put that bloated character roster to good use...) would be a much better fit for the franchise than even a REALLY GOOD version of Arrowfell. :T Just sayin’.
Plot and Characters -The moment we’ve all been waiting for~ ^^ *cracks knuckles*
-In brief: the plot sucks and the plot-relevant characters also suck. :/ WayForward at least did a good job building the game despite clearly not caring; as usual RT did not care about the writing AND did not do a good job. I went into it expecting the plot to be EVEN LESS interesting than those of the show, and I was STILL disappointed...
-Small things first: the repeated “I guess we’re doing this now” apathetic sarcasm from Team RWBY during the cutscenes was kind of...irritating, actually. Especially after we had to watch RWB sit around watching the plot go by for half of Volume 8...it’s bad enough when the audience starts to feel like the protagonists have no real investment in the plot (which has been a thing since V5...); it’s a whole new level of bad when the protagonists themselves all but admit it right to our faces. We’re supposed to assume that team RWBY is still here because ‘it’s the right thing to do’; they ‘don’t [want to] let anyone else die’...but more and more of their chances to actually portray that type of righteous character onscreen keep getting replaced by quirky, disinterested snark or pointless one-liners. And I don’t think RT realizes that if that’s all we’re getting...then the result is a story about characters who have no reason to be in it and don’t even want to. :/
-Re: Fifestone-- I’ve already said much more than I planned to say about him (through responding to those asks, if you remember ^^;) but my original note was as follows: in this day and age when workers’ rights are finally making a long-overdue comeback in the public consciousness, and ESPECIALLY considering the way RT treats its own employees, deciding you need an unnecessarily evil union leader in your fictional story is disgusting, vile and morally reprehensible. I used to think RT’s leadership was just ‘childish-bad’...y’know, selfishness and an unwillingness to compromise or improve making life hell for everyone else. But something like this feels more like ‘evil-bad’-- i.e. deciding that the hell you’re putting other people through is necessary, enough to justify and actively maintain through propaganda/manipulation. I’d...really hate to see RT go down that road. :[
-Let’s end on a lighter note by talking about Bram Thornmane: probably the most pathetic antagonist in the entire franchise. ^^;;; When I heard him admit that he seriously did ALL that just because he wanted to join the Ace-Ops (THE ACE OPS??? THE ACE OPS?!?!!!! o_O) I literally sat at my desk at work and laughed out loud, for like 5 minutes. ^^;
Seriously, though, it’s SO bad...I thought things couldn’t get any worse than Adam ‘my girlfriend left me’ Taurus, but here we are. And at least Adam looked cool (and his character assassination was absolutely hilarious; 50% of the reason I love him is because I spent Volumes 4 through 6 laughing at him constantly XD).
Thornmane, on the other hand, is a nothing character. No cool design, no interesting personality traits, no noteworthy connections to any substantial characters. I don’t even know what his semblance is (he mentions it during his boss fight, so I assume it’s in the game somewhere...does anyone know??).
So yeah, “I’m gonna steal unique technology and kill thousands of people to maybe hopefully make Ironwood look bad because he wouldn’t let me in the special club” is just the icing on the nothing-cake. Even a basic “I wanna take over the world” motivation would be better; it would at least make his actions feel justified...as it is, he just chose the most effortful, overly-convoluted way possible to express his anger over getting passed up for a team of huntsmen SO elite and SO special and perfect that they got washed by four newbie huntresses in 5 minutes. T_T Wowza. Now there’s an experience worth spending 30 bucks and 4 hours of your time...
-Easy Thornmane fix: Actually USE Arrowfell. They mentioned that Arrowfell was like an abandoned laboratory full of never-before-seen technology too dangerous to release to the world...USE that. If Thornmane wants to make Ironwood look bad, let him start handing this stuff out like candy to any thug on the street, and get people speculating about why such terrible weapons were even being made, and demanding that the General take responsibility (insert retroactive foreshadowing for his turn to the dark side in V8 here). Let him convince BRIR, the ‘guardians of Arrowfell’ (whatever that means) that this technology needs to be shared with the public to sort of ‘even the playing field’, let the people take back power from the tyrannical Atlas elites (insert morally-gray actually class-conscious Fifestone character here). Let him hoard some of the more frightening weapons for himself, and try to overthrow Ironwood (insert actually necessary Lt. Harper character here) and assume leadership of the Atlas military, to put himself in the position of power he always wanted.
THIS STUFF IS NOT HARD GUYS; I came up with that in like 10 minutes! >_< And if I spent the amount of time you should spend on something you expect your fans to pay actual money for, I could do a lot better...
Head full many thoughts
This is turning into a mixture of Albedo and Keqing stan account, theory account, and meme account. Is this not the content you sighed up for? Are you not amused?
My brain is scattered right now but I need to get this out because HNGHHHH
Dainsleif. Dainsleif is here, in person. The implications of this could be rather immense. Dainsleif truly being a physical, tangible person and showing up in the presence of the traveler (and other people) no less is a tad shocking to me. We’re still very early in the game’s plot, and Khaenri’ah is likely the “endgame” so to speak. The fact that we’re getting contact with Dainsleif himself so early on is quite surprising. Granted, we don’t know what role he’ll play in the long run or many details about him at all, but he’s here.
And that brought to mind a possibility I hadn’t considered yet: Khaenri’ah still exists to an extent. How? Perhaps the ruins of Khaenri’ah have become an extension of Abyss.
I won’t claim to be absolutely sure yet, there are too many unknowns. But Khaenri’ah is stated in Albedo’s fifth character story to be an underground nation that relied upon Khemia (Khaenri’ah alchemy techniques, if you didn’t know) to create plant life and sustain a society. The cataclysm supposedly put an end to Khaenri’ah, but that begs the question of where did the people of Khaenri’ah go? Were they all killed? The way Gold’s actions are described makes me wonder if it’s possible that instead of creating monsters, they turned the citizens of Khaenri’ah into the monsters we know today.
We know that hilichurls have their own language, and that Abyss Mages are even capable of speaking the language of Teyvat. But that leaves one large question: why have Dainsleif, Kaeya, and presumably Rhinedottir escaped the ravages of this cataclysm? It occurred five hundred years ago, and Kaeya is likely in his twenties. How is he Khaenri’ah’s last hope if he was born centuries after the cataclysm that destroyed it? I really don’t know, to be honest. We have more questions than answers regarding Khaenri’ah, and one of the biggest holes in our knowledge is the timeline. Dainsleif’s continued existence can be explained by the fact he’s likely hundreds if not thousands of years old, but we still don’t know how he would’ve escaped the cataclysm. Many suspect a kind of time distortion or anomaly that allows Kaeya and perhaps people like him to exist in this post-cataclysm world, and I would say it’s likely. The God of Time is also a large unknown, and it’s quite possible they’re involved in some way.
On the subject of Gold, they are said to have been corrupted by their own greed and ambition, but it’s thought to be possible that Abyss had a hand in growing their power. And interestingly, Kaeya’s known to actively antagonize the Abyss Order. His first voice line about himself is actually not about himself- it’s asking if the Abyss Order is causing the traveler any trouble.
To be sure of anything, I would need a more precise timeline and confirmation on whether or not Abyss existed before Khaenri’ah, and more specific information about Gold. But there’s one more thing that’s been hanging in the back of my mind.
A second cataclysm is being implied to be impending.
Dainsleif has mentioned time and time again in cryptic comments at the ends of the Collected Miscellany videos this: “the day.” The prophecy given to him seems to also foretell a day of reckoning.
Tumblr media
There’s so much to unpack here.
“The original calamity” is probably the cataclysm. “The island in the sky set the world to burn” is undeniably plain; Celestia is going to have a hand in this great disaster, and perhaps even had a hand in the original cataclysm. This part is easy, but not much else is.
“The eclipse is swallowed by the crimson moon” leaves me at a loss, I’m not quite sure what it could mean.
“Chalk pursues gold” I have discussed this line before but I’ll say it again for relevance: it could have a few different meanings. The ones that immediately come to mind are that Albedo will end up paralleling Gold and be an instrument in this disaster, or he will seek out and likely oppose Gold. I would say it’s more likely to be the second based purely upon the wording. (My ramblings on Albedo’s storyline are discussed here as well, and in previous theories)
Also, “the future must atone for bygone mistakes” implies a punishment for some event in the past, which in my opinion is likely related to Khaenri’ah or Abyss, or both.
The rest is likely related to the traveler and their sibling, and Dainsleif’s implied friendship with the traveler’s sibling, but I really don’t feel like I can go into much depth without more information.
I’m going to go out on a limb here and make the assumption that the Heart of Naberius artifact mentioned in Albedo’s fourth Character Story has something to do with this looming disaster. If so, whether Rhinedottir seeks to avert or cause this destruction is unclear.
This was longer than I intended it to be but oh well
Analysis and Theories - Cobra and Mongoose/Better off Fred -  Disney finally learned how to balance comedy, emotion and action!
Cobra and Mongoose
Hiro and Fred's friendship! It's as cute as these two are always so close, not least because, as was established in the first episode, if the gang were to leave it would be just them. So these tips are cool to see from how they are friends and rely on each other.
The fact that the video game is the same as "Pray Date"! And this time, Fred really won, different from last time! And bonus point for everyone, including Baymax, to have a headphone!
The snakes!! The fact how they attack Fred and how Heathcliff intervenes is so amazing and well animated!! And how sordid and deadly they are!
The poison! Since snakes are robots, they have to throw the poison to be absorbed into the skin. And this happens in real life, there are substances that do it! It was a great recurring joke!
When Hiro comes to help and Heathcliff leaves a cell phone with a dramatic message even though he's barely there!
All the message in question! That butler is so dramatic and I love it!
The fact that Heathcliff knew how to shuffle tracking signals, he was a spy, so well played! Aside from the fact that Hiro took this as a personal challenge to his genial intellect, I love my pompous and intelligent son!
The restaurant where the first battle took place! It's so beautiful and the aesthetics of south asia and how it has influences beyond the Japanese in the city. Because San Franscisco really is full of other cultures and San Fransokyo being part Japanese doesn't erase that. Which is very cool.
Cobra. That's it, that's the whole point.
I love this villain!!! Everything about her is perfect! She is menacing, fun, smart and, as the name says, acts and moves like a snake! Outside I loved the design! And the whole sequence of conversation before the fight was the best! She remembered Momakase, but you can see the difference from her!
Reference to Mary POpPins! Eclipse WHO?!
Heathcliff fighting!! He has a sword in his umbrella and fights masterfully, all this is perfect and from how Fred is with a vase on his head during the fight and is paralyzed again!
In real life, Mongoose are natural predators of cobras and have a layer of fur that makes them immune to poison. So, well drawn writers, well drawn.
Cobra analysis. Unlike Momakase who steals objects, Cobra works on stealing technologies to steal objects, which is a good differential the two thieves. And how Hiro takes offense at his neurotransmitter being stolen. Not least because the last time this happened, his brother was killed. He must not have good memories of it.
Heathcliff's past itself! This, for those who do not know, is a reference to Alfred who was a spy before serving the Wanne. And the fact that he has this whole story with Boss Awesome, and saved the life of said hero in a volcano and how snake should have died and in the end Heathcliff ended up as a butler is cool.
"Who took these pictures?""You have not changed since then?"Hiro Hamada asking the right questions!
Mention to Boss Awesome. Rip Stan Lee.
And he explains it through a spy pen. Carmen Sandiego fans Rise UP!!!
Farewell! How Heathcliff loves the family he works for and Fred, whom he must see as a nephew and he having to leave to preserve that same family is sad. And how he makes Fred swear not to go after him is also sad, because Heathcliff had to use one of the things Fred loves most to make sure he doesn't follow him. It shows how important Fred is and how he knows that because Fred cares so much, he can't risk it.
The memories of Fred and how Heathcliff was with him from the beginning are touching. Fred as chaotic as he is, he really cares about who he loves. And from how his family sometimes travels a lot, it implies that the only parental figure was the Butler. And Heathcliff has no family outside the Fredericks.
It's lil Fred! It's cute!
Cobra's encounter with Mongoose! Cobra had so many robots and how it was on the roofs with the lights in the cities! This avoids the confusion of having people in the middle of the fight, as preserving identity and gives the fight drama on the roof™ !
Fred coming and " breaking” the oath. Oh, the old technical detail of that was a copy! And how he didn't steal the spotlight, thanks to the snakes. That was Heathcliff's past after all.
The final fight!!! From how Heathcliff changed clothes in the best Magic Girl style, with an effect phrase and everything, and in the fight with the umbrella and the giant snake?! It was all for me! He looks good in white!
Hiro helping!!! And of how, in the end it was Heathcliff who arrested Cobra having the spotlight from start to finish! Perfect!
The scary smile joke! I think people too!
Cobra in my top 3 of non-main villains!!
Better off Fred
The beginning has the reference of “guys,guys,guys” from Big Hero 7 (if I don't), but less lively.
Fred being extra™ when heartbroken and having it right in sight!
Baymax can now be a surgeon. Tadashi worked very well.
Honey wanting to know more and Gogo just begging not to. A classic!! Honey Lemon being the mother of the group as always. And Gogo just not getting paid enough!
Flashback! I love how Fred met Olivia. It was very Fred and having someone who liked rare comics is very something that would happen.
I love Olivia! She is super cute and I understand why Fred fell in love with her. She is funny, cool and is actively a nerdy girl, without the vibe of ”no like the other girls", which I quite liked. She is feminine, but not conventionally feminine, reads comics and no one in every episode talks about it. She is actively a nerd, with beanies, colored hair but no one points out that she is the "stranger" for it or she demeans other girls for not being like her. She is a girl who likes rare comics and with a good attitude! Thank You Disney!
The nerd crush music! And the whole gang balloon sequence.
The rejection and what was led to it. They talk about family until culminating in her revealing herself to be a Mole. But, let's be honest, Fred can be pretty chaotic, but he had spine to call the girl he liked right away for a date. Maybe Hiro can ask for some advice.
"Since when have you been there?"The writers recognizing the absurdity of some jokes and out-of-nowhere pops adds 10 years to my lifespan!
Everyone saying listening to Mole was a bad idea! But Fred is in love so he top! Stupid in love, huh?
The music of the transformation sequence speak just that!
The gang in fancy clothes!!! This is not training!!! They look beautiful! And man, Honey looked good in that dress and Hiro kill in that suit. My son looked beautiful! And points bonûs for giving him a real formal costume.
Baymax tie!!!
The arrival of Fred, or rather, Frederique. And how Honey tried to warn him that being himself is the best approach.
Fredsorna. That's a word in canon in BH6. That's... I didn't expect it.
It was all just very shameful when Fred wasn't himself.
Olivia not being traditionally female again. She wears a dress, but it is simpler and instead of high heels, she wears a pair of sneakers. And nobody says anything! Not to mention that I would use.
Points to Disney for showing that behaviors like imposing themselves on someone, invading personal space and acting like the other had no choice is NOT attractive. The media has done this for years and show, mostly to a male group, that being aggressive while flirting is cool. So Disney show showing that this is scary is all I want. I'm glad Olivia dumped her ex, including.
Mole is unbearable!! This kid is evil pure and Fred really got down for it. He really liked Olivia and wanted to spend time with her and gremiling ruined it!!! Besides paying Bluff was only low, even for him.
Olivia listening to everything from afar. She didn't want to leave him badly, she just went... fool.
When Supersonic Stu and Sue appeared! They may be bad, but that Stu has more family support than a lot of people!
Some may find it strange that everyone only delivers their belongings, but we have to remember that without the police and Big Hero 6, most people are defenseless and in the end they are still villains. They can hurt.
Fred saving the day with Olivia's help and using references! That's style!!!
She taking off her glasses and being a lousy actress. I love it.
Fred being honest with Olivia. He explaining everything and being vulnerable and explaining everything is very cute and open, being the opposite of her ex. And from how Olivia understands it is very cool and how good that it all ended well for them with a meeting of giant monster movies.
And Mole stuck on a piano! Please less Mole on eps!
Olivia / Fred will be interesting!
Conclusions and theories:
Cobra's coming back! Maybe after Hiro since he led him to his overthrow? She's a very rancorous villain. And definitely behind Fred and Heathcliff! Anyway, Disney I want to see her again!!! Maybe along with Momakase or even Sirque, who is another tech thief.
Heathcliff! He was amazing!! Best unofficial uncle!
Olivia!! Another one that will appear again!! And now Hiro and Fred can talk about their girls officially! I loved her and want to know more about this girl and the relationship between her and Fred!! And with the rest of the gang!! She's just super cute and I want to know more in general.
I... kind of noticed a pattern here. As much as Karmi as Olivia has names based on nature, more specifically plants and has positive characteristics. Olivia makes reference to olive trees and the name means “friendly”, “beauty” and “kind”. Karmi means "orchard, garden”,  "my vineyard “and other things like” hardworking“,” golden “and even”, ”generous". It would seem that the love interests of these heroes are amazing and brave people with names of a similar nature. Interesting.
She and Karmi would get along very well, by the way. You know, two fangirls.
I like how the two episodes focus on the theme of the season that seems to be family. And this can yield interesting things.
I have this theory even that the episodes will start to have more plot and complement each other more when all the villains of the hexagons appear and then, the grand Big bad (or the villainous driving force of the season) will appear, complementing the NBB.
So far we have most of the villains, just missing Momakase, and along with them,story lines related, with the theme family, that will converge even more. The NBB and the sisters has the theme of Brotherly Love, along with Hiro's conflict with the separation of the gang established in the first episode, apart from what may be the push to the Big Bad that I believe to be Braggtech, brought in the first episode and that I think will be developed in the episodes ahead, in addition to the
Hardlight and the Super duo brought the romantic love of a family to both Hiro and Fred, with Harlight taking an extra line on what may be Karmi's rise as a heroine and how all these changes in her will affect her and Hiro's relationship. The Supers have a strong relationship with Fred and Olivia.
Cobra too, but she may have a more forward role more related to Braggtech, in my opinion.
Apart from the other villains that remained from the second season. Of course, not everything will be connected, but the main plots yes.
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
