Here are some images extracted from Alcest's latest music video, L'Envol", an 8-minute music video that I directed alongside Psyché Ophiuchus and Cedric Lenfant.

It was inspired by the aesthetics of the golden age of illustration that I cherish so much, especially Ivan Bilibine, Heinrich Lefler & Joseph Urban. It is obviously tinged with Art Nouveau and symbolism, my first artistic loves. And it also pays tribute to Japanese animation and illustration, a source of inspiration for both Neige and us.

We tried to treat each scene like an animated painting, a composition one can pause on, with the absolutely insane constraint of animation which involves creating dozens of drawings for every second.

"L'Envol" comprises 8000 photos taken on the night of June 21, 2023, with Psyché, from 9:00 pm to 8:00 am, at a rate of one photo every 5 seconds. 8000 photos reworked and assembled to create the magical time-lapse of that solstice night. It features a bird puppet, costumes, and a choreography interpreted and rehearsed for hours by Psyché. And it includes 6690 colorized drawings made over 5 months by Cedric Lenfant and myself.

We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed creating it! Thanks to Neige for entrusting us with the creation of this film!

• Slytherin!nicholas x Hufflepuff!fem!reader

• A/N : Trust me, I'm totally in the Slytherin!nicholas loving phase...

The whole of Hogwarts knew that Nicholas was the rude and temperamental type of Slytherin. He gets angry easily if something bothers him, he doesn't even hesitate to fight anyone who always gets in his way or annoys him, even professors are no exception.

Nicholas grew up to be a temperamental person because of his stepfather's harsh upbringing. His biological father died when he was a baby, and his mother remarried an Englishman six years later. However, in the 9th year of marriage between his biological mother and stepfather, his mother died due to a sudden heart attack. Nicholas was raised harshly by his stepfather, Evan Rosier. Many people said that Evan did something like that because he also loved Nicholas, but Nicholas didn't feel that way. He felt that his stepfather was just making him a puppet that he could control at any time. Nicholas stuck with Evan because Evan was the only guardian he had. Moreover, he was only seventeen years old, which meant he couldn't make decisions at will.

In fact, Evan was so controlling over Nicholas, Evan was also the one who chose Nicholas' mate. Evan matched Nicholas with one of his friends' daughters who was in Hufflepuff. You. Nicholas was matched with you because of business matters between Nicholas' step family and your family, not purely because they wanted to unite the two families. The match made by Evan of course made Nicholas furious, he couldn't rebel much.

However, everything changed when Nicholas saw you for the first time. You weren't like the typical pureblood girl he usually imagined with an arrogant and spoiled nature. In fact, you are very gentle, caring and kind to everyone. In less than a month, you succeeded in making Nicholas truly fall in love with you. Even though at first you didn't like this match, you slowly accepted it well.

Nicholas, who has a temperamental nature, never shouts or even curses at you. He can't change his temperamental nature, but he won't want to show that bad nature to you. If you get into an argument, he will stop the fight if you are around. Or he will calm down if he just hears your voice.

Your relationship with him became stronger when Evan and your father decided to engage you to Nicholas so quickly. Your status as his fiancé makes Nicholas have a sharper protective side. He hates anyone talking bad about you. He hates you talking to strange men. He hates anyone who always disturbs your peace. He hates everything that makes you sad or even cry.

"Y/N!" You jumped in surprise when you heard Cedric's voice calling you in the Hufflepuff common room while you were reading a book during your break.

"Yes, Cedric? What is it?" You asked with furrowed brows, Cedric looked panicked, his breathing was labored. "Your fiancé got into another fight," You immediately gaped and got up from your seat. "Again?! This time with who?!" You were immediately no less panicked than Cedric.

"Matheo Riddle, they are fighting near the black lake, no one can stop Nicholas yet," You slapped your forehead when you heard Cedric's answer. Without further ado, you immediately ran to the black lake to stop Nicholas.

"Riddle bastard! I will really kill you this time!" Nicholas shouted thunderously, he punched Mattheo mercilessly. Mattheo, who is usually reliable against anyone, is now having difficulty responding to Nicholas' punches or even avoiding him.

His friends even had difficulty separating Nicholas and him, or even no one dared to separate the two of them.

Why did the two of them get into a fight? It all started with Nicholas who was composing a beautiful poem for you near the black lake, and at the same time wanted to refresh himself too. And suddenly, Draco Malfoy's gang came, starting to make sharp sarcasm at Nicholas. At first Nicholas didn't care, but when Mattheo suddenly said indecent words aimed at you, Nicholas was immediately provoked into extraordinary anger.

On the black lake, things already looked tense and chaotic. You let out a rough sigh because Nicholas' Slytherin friends could only scream without any action to separate Nicholas and Mattheo.

You approach the chaos with ragged breath, trying to stay calm too because if you panic, you feel everything gets even rougher. "Nicho," The Slytherin students there immediately looked at you when you called out to Nicholas softly.

Nicholas didn't hear you, he was still busy beating up Mattheo. "NICHOLAS!" You shouted sharply and loudly enough for Nicholas to hear your voice. Your breath was out of breath from yelling that hard, you weren't used to it.

Nicholas immediately looked at you when you shouted his name, but his hand was still holding Mattheo's shirt collar tightly. You approached Nicholas, smiled slightly and took his hand. "This is not good, stop it okay?" You spoke softly then caressed his cheek. Nicholas' hand which was still holding Mattheo immediately threw the curly-haired man away.

Nicholas kissed your palm which had been on his cheek. And yeah it's true, he's very calm when you're by his side. It's really changed drastically.

"You should have ignored Riddle's words earlier. I don't want you to be complained to Professor Snape for getting into a fight with him," You said while stroking his hair gently, currently he was lying in your lap.

"I don't care if I complain to Snape, Mattheo deserves it, he can't talk bad things about you," You chuckled when you heard Nicholas' words. "I'm used to things like that, besides you know how I am. Just you understanding me is more than enough, Nicho," You said softly, then played with his fingers gently.

"You know, you are very precious to me. I can't be silent if someone talks bad about you, you are a part of my life, and a part of my life like myself, they should not be humiliated, miserable, and look bad," Nicholas said looking into your eyes softly. One of his hands reached out to stroke your hair. "I have lost both of my biological parents, they are part of my life that has been lost, but God sent you as if to be medicine for me. I was 'healed' after meeting you. Therefore, I always want to protect you well, I don't want God to take you from me because I can't protect you," Hearing that from Nicholas, you were always deeply touched. He really experienced major trauma because he lost the valuable people in his life.

The sweet words and promises he said to you weren't just sickening talk, he really kept his word well. He always proves his promises and words to you, never breaking them in the slightest.

"I love you," This has been a thousand times (?) Nicholas has said things like that to you, and he will keep saying them, maybe until you and he grow old together.

You responded to his words by giving him a sweet kiss on his lips, while allowing him to 'channel' his love for you through his actions.

Oh my gosh. OH MY FUCKING GOSH YOU GUYS!

I just, for the third time, rewatched Puffs the Play. I need every single Harry Potter fan (especially those of you who are Hufflepuffs like me) to know about this amazing AMAZING show and go watch it PLEASE.

Puffs the Play is a tongue-and-cheek irreverent adaptation of Harry Potter that covers what the hell the Hufflepuffs were doing during Harry's time at Hogwarts. The main characters are:

Wayne Hopkins, a kid whose parents were murdered on the same night as Harry's and who was sent to live with his well-meaning but super weird and oblivious redneck uncle in New Mexico. He grows up as a completely normal muggle child until he gets his letter, at which point his uncle realizes "We gotta talk more" and he gets thrust into Hogwarts. Wayne believes that he's destined for something great and very much wants to be important and save the wizarding world. Unfortunately, Harry is also there.

Oliver Rivers, an American math savant who just moved to England with his family to attend Oxford's mathematics program. Oliver is very VERY salty about Hogwarts not having a math class and has a lot of struggles adjusting to the absolute insanity that is wizard school

And Megan Jones, a girl whose family is known for being "the Puff family. Like the Puffiest of the Puffs." All except her mother Xavia, who was an infamous and dangerous Death Eat---no wait, sorry, Death BUDDY, who is currently in wizard prison. Megan strives to be just like her mother.

These dorks, along with several other background Puffs from the books (Hannah Abbott, Ernie Macmillan, Justin Finch-Fletchley, etc.) navigate 7 of the craziest years at the most dangerous wizarding school guided under their amazing mentor Cedric. . .at least for a while . . . As Puffs, the most beaten up, looked down on, and "worthless" house.

Now, this play is absolutely amazing you guys. It's hilarious, for starters, and takes a lot of liberties with the books. Every single person there is a cloud-cukoolander who is full of adorkable charm and ridiculous sass towards canon. Common catchphrases include:

"HI!" with a signature adorkable little wave.

"We're WIZARDS!"

"We are not a threat! Please be our friend!"

"Oh. My. Wizard. God!"

It's a filmed play that is deliberately low-budget to help with the comedy. Salazar Slytherin, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Godric Gryffindor are all played by hand puppets. Harry is there, played by the same (female) actress as Susie Bones and is an absolutely hilarious oblivious sweetheart, but Ron and Hermoine are a pair of mops dragged around by other cast members. The cast is a total of, like, 10 people who just continually switch roles. The narrator won't stop taking pot-shots at both the canon Harry Potter story and the story of Puffs, and keeps breaking the fourth wall. Some of my other favorite quotes include but aren't limited too:

"HI CEDRIC! Love your bones" -Harry Potter

"J-Finch is imaginary!?!? J-FINCH CAN GO WHEREVER HE WANTS!"

"AVIA FORMES!" (Chucks bird at person)

"If it makes you feel any better, he's ugly, and he'll probably stay that way forever!" (Said about Neville by the way)

"Someone said the snake monster only goes after pretty girls so I shouldn't have to oh I get it they were bullying me."

"JESUS CHRIST YOU ALL ARE 13!"

"Students who are Brave! Students who are Smart! Students who talk like they're about to throw a glass of white wine in your face! And the Puffs!"

It's really funny you guys.

But it is also incredibly heartwarming and can be sad and serious at times. It's a story of unbreakabke friendship. It's a story about how to keep on going when the going gets rough. It's a story that says it doesn't matter if everyone else thinks you're a bit of an idiot or if you're socially awkward or if you fail a whole lot. As long as you keep trying and keep working hard, something good will be there for you (even if it's not the something you wanted). It's a story about embracing your true self.

It's a story that says "I'm a Puff. And I'm staying."

It has also permanently affected the way I read the Harry Potter books, as I project the Puffs personalities (and frequently looks) onto all the Hufflepuffs when they show up in the books, even if a lot of them don't really match.

Everyone, please go watch Puffs the Play, and understand why I have some strange headcanons about the background Hufflepuffs from the class of '98.

I ship Grimtrix and Morgana. So much.

But regardless of shipping or not, I think they would have been amazing partners in crime. I wish season 4 had focused on them as the main baddies, instead of Prisma and Vor. Trying to take over the world together, carrying on Grimtrix's plan to have sorcerers be the dominant beings, while seeking revenge on Sofia and Cedric.

Of course, Grimtrix IS extremely selfish, cunning, and manipulative, so he wouldn't hesitate to backstab Morgana as soon as he no longer had need of her (I totally think he was manipulating the entire Order, using them as puppets to take over the world for him).

And she would be very loyal to him, but only as far as her own desire for power (by association) goes- she'd love being his right-hand enforcer, his second-in-command.

Yeah, it would totally be a toxic relationship- whether partnership or romantic. XD

If anyone is following my story The Master Wand, that's totally how I see them together.

*sigh* "You're the goodhearted one, love. Much more so than I deserve."

Given your history with the forbidden ship, what are your thoughts on krumione?

It took me a second to decipher the reference. Anon, you can say the name. Hayley isn’t a dirty word 🤣 just a questionable ship. Which is more or less the case for my man Victor Krum. The fandom is somewhat divided here. There are those who praise him as an underrated gentleman, and those who shame him as a creep who targets underage girls. 

Honestly, both sides are exaggerating. 

Krum wasn’t some unsung hero. He was a lonely, awkward guy with fame, but no friends. He was repeatedly described as being surly. He had feelings for Hermione, indicating that he appreciated her intelligence (and probably how different she was from his typical fan-girls) but so what? Just because Hermione didn’t get a lot of attention from boys, it doesn’t make Krum noble for having noticed her. 

Krum is a guy who was, I think, deeply affected by attending a school like Durmstrang. It didn’t turn him into a dark wizard or a bigot (likely because of the personal losses his family suffered at the hands of the Grindelwald regime) but it does seem to have affected his social skills in a negative capacity, and becoming a celebrity certainly didn’t help. Nor did becoming a Quidditch player. I’ve talked about this before but Quidditch players tend to be obsessive and throw everything else away, including basic morality, just so they can win. The Wronski Feint may be cool when you’re a kid reading the book for the first time, but in adulthood, it really hits me just how screwed up that actually was. He basically tried to kill the other Seeker. It’s not his fault that such a move is considered acceptable, but he didn’t have to use it. 

In general, I think fame hampered Krum’s ability to make friends, and rendered him unable to trust that people weren’t just trying to cozy up to him because he was famous. Unfortunately, this includes people like Ron, he’s a perfect example. Krum was a socially awkward, grumpy young man who probably did want to make friends and find love, but he had no clue how to do this, especially not in a school full of strangers in another country. (It’s no wonder he invited Hermione to come visit him.) Hell, we don’t know why he made the journey to Hogwarts in the first place. Was it his decision? Did he even want to enter the Triwizard Tournament? Or was he pressured into it by Karkaroff? 

I should elaborate on my feelings a bit more. I am by no means condemning Viktor Krum, because he may be strange and socially awkward, but that’s not a crime. Questionable Seeker plays notwithstanding, Krum doesn’t really do anything wrong during the story. It’s not his fault, for instance, that Karkaroff shamelessly favorited him, or that Crouch Jr used him as a puppet. If anything, his aggressive reaction to a perceived Grindelwald supporter is a mark in his favor. Krum is the sort of guy who has punched Nazis and gladly would again. Can’t really fault him for that. 

But what about the erumpent in the room, what about his interest in Hermione? 

Well, like I said, I don’t believe he ever does anything out of line. Is it creepy? I think that depends on the context. Is the age gap a little suspect? I mean, yeah, it is. But it’s hardly impossible for a guy Krum’s age to date a girl Hermione’s age without being a predator. To pretend otherwise is silly. That leaves the question - is Krum written to be a predator? The answer is no. I hardly think asking a girl to attend a chaperoned dance is predatory behavior. It’s implied that they dated a while afterward, that Hermione (probably) kissed him. But hey, if they hit it off at The Yule Ball, why can’t they see where that goes? Hermione being Krum’s Hostage in the Second Task is…weird, I’ll admit. Particularly since the judges were willing and able to procure family members from outside the country. But then again, is it not equally weird for Cedric’s Hostage to be Cho? They hadn’t been dating that long. Frankly, I think this just proves how lonely Krum is. 

I’ve seen posts that say he “isolated” and “threatened” Harry when he saw him as a romantic rival. Which seems like a major reach. All he did was ask for an explanation. There was no indication that he meant harm. And when Harry clarified, Krum changed his tune and acted more friendly. Again, he and Hermione were basically dating at this point. It’s not unreasonable for Krum to be angry if he thought Hermione was cheating on him. Overall, he should have confronted her instead of Harry, but that’s a different issue. My point being, it was not predatory behavior. No more than his being irritated that Hermione wasn't paying attention to him after the Second Task. He was already insecure about Harry, and he was the one who had "saved" Hermione, of course he wanted to be the center of attention in that moment.

Was it creepy for Krum to invite Hermione to visit him in Bulgaria? I’ve seen that sentiment expressed, that he was trying to “isolate her” (there’s that word again) in a country where he would be the only person she knew, and that this was a red flag. I’d just call it an inevitable reality. One can assume Krum would want to introduce her to his family and such. But until then, yeah, she wouldn’t know anyone else from there. So? Furthermore, there’s no indication that her parents weren’t invited too. Either way, Hermione would need their consent and there’s no doubt Krum knew she would. Like, we have no evidence that he was trying to do this behind their backs. In general, Harry himself regularly stayed with the Weasleys during school breaks, for weeks at a time. This could simply be a traditional aspect of wizarding culture. Something that happens all the time. Not some grand evil plan. In any case, Hermione rejected the offer to visit Bulgaria (or her parents said no, we can’t be sure) and I think we can safely assume that Krum took this with grace, as he and Hermione remain pen pals after the fact and are on good terms.

I’ve made this point before when defending Hayley, but I dislike how people express distaste for Krumione by describing it as an “adult man” pursuing a “15 year old girl.” Because referring to Krum as such in this context and ignoring that he’s only 18 himself just obscures the situation. It makes it sound a lot worse than it actually is, and it almost seems like people are doing this on purpose. Krum may be an adult in this case and Hermione may be a child, but that doesn't mean they're all that far apart. Again, Cedric and Cho also get together after the Yule Ball, and by Wizard standards, Cedric was an adult too. We're still dealing with a romance between two teenagers. Yes, an 18 year old is more mature than a 15 year old. But 18 year olds are still pretty damn stupid. I know. I’ve been there. 

But what about the time that Krum, as a 21 year old man, was eyeing up Ginny, a 16 year old girl? That alone kills any defense he might have, right? It creates a pattern and removes the benefit of the doubt from the equation…right? Well, it would, except that Krum doesn’t actually know her age, how could he isn’t actually interested in Ginny. He doesn’t check her out until after Harry describes Ron and Hermione as a couple. Up until that point, he had eyes only for her. It seems like pretty clear subtext. Krum just wants to find a pretty girl to dance with and make Hermione jealous. Which is immature. But again, acting immature is not the same thing as acting predatory. He backs off when Harry tells him that Ginny has a boyfriend, I think we can assume he would likewise have backed off if Harry had told him "She's 16, dude."

Altogether, Hermione was Krum’s first love. He seems to have idealized their relationship and never really gotten over her. While this probably isn’t the healthiest situation for him, I still wouldn’t call him a creep. Krum respects Hermione’s boundaries and her autonomy. he is never shown pushing her into anything she doesn’t want, and Hermione doesn’t appear to be the least bit negatively affected by his residual feelings for her. She just carries on with her life. She shoots him down, and while he doesn’t exactly move on, he also doesn’t make it her problem. The worst you can say about Krum is that he's maybe a little pathetic. But I don't see any red flags here, at least not of that sort.

Rayman Head Canons: Voice Claims

So a little note before we begin, Rayman Retold had a few faces that were introduced in Rayman 2. I found out that The Great Escape (PS1) and Rayman Revolution (PS2) versions had completely different types of voice acting when it came to the English dubbing. A few of the credited voices had "Rayman 2," but not really anything specific. I'll have to rely on clips and I might not have much info on the voice actors in question.

Admiral Razorbeard:

I've changed the voice claim from when this post was first made. As much as I loved the previous one, I decided to go back to giving Admiral Razorbeard the voice he had in Rayman Revolution.

Razorbeard was going to be another major villain within the Rayman Retold Project I was working on. Despite his defeat, he was going to return sometime down the line alongside his wife.

Jano, The first Nightmare:

Jano actually has 2 voice claims: One when he speaks English, and one that is his native Nightmarish tongue.

For his English lines, I did research and my results were pretty empty. considering Jano actually had 2 English voice actors that depended on which version of Rayman 2 you played and they were VERY different voice portrayals.

Here's the differences between the Rayman 2 playstation games with Jano's English voice:

When Jano speaks English, it's the voice he had within Rayman Revolution, or the PS2 version. It's the language you hear him use the most when he's communicating with members of the glade that enter his lair.

Within Rayman Retold, his native tongue is a language only used by creatures of nightmare origin. It's mostly referred to as “Nightmarish” but doesn’t actually have an official name. for Jano, its the “Raymanese” voice sound effect he had from Rayman 2.

You don't normally hear Jano pulling the nightmarish language and the voice that goes with it unless he is in a fit of rage, or he’s attempting to corrupt those into his puppets.

OHHHHH MY GOD. AUTUMN RIDGE TMC AU.

I dunno if I have the words to articulate my thoughts but. Something something that's not Dove in his house. Something something there's a figure down the hall and Cedric turns to look at it but it cuts to black.

The sound of panicked breathing and running and things getting knocked over. It's late at night and her eyes are too big and she? It? Keeps replaying their argument over and over and he's all alone and it's all his fault- He's trying to hide and stay quiet as the sound of an old song floats on the air. There is no salvation for him here.

Something something it isn't until about a week later when Dove went to a neighboring city that she notices a bunch of voicemails from him and they get increasingly frantic begging for help and that he's sorry for everything he's done and-

He's dead. He's dead he's dead he was calling for help- Maybe you could've saved him. Or it could be a trap, but his voice sounds so sickeningly real. Dove goes back to Autumn Ridge, even though her gut tells her not to.

I think she meets Mel and they team up ouo. Not sure how Mel fits into this but I imagine she's similar to canon, having an interest in the supernatural that may or may not lead to her demise-

Loving the idea that the alternate tries to mimic Cedric but it just looks like his corpse is being puppeted around with jerking unnatural movements- Aughhh and he makes phone ringing noises......

Alt Dove having a super wide smile without any teeth or anything, it's just a void mouth- Fuckk and there are head wings covering her big eyes- Maybe there are eyes on the insides of the wings too, and when they unfold, the feathers spread out almost looking like fingers?

Basically I had the thought "lmao Cedric wouldn't survive a minute in the TMC universe", listened to Echo on loop for like a hour, and then this happened-

The scent of copper sits heavy on the back of Cedric’s tongue, carried through the air and into his lungs at the first inhale after stepping into the library. It’s sweet in the sort of way that should turn his stomach. It should, but it doesn’t. Instead, it feels familiar—like rough carpet under his palms; like long, late night car rides with the windows rolled down; like mall music echoing through empty halls. It sets his mind at ease.

At least, until he looks a little closer. It’s not the body very clearly lacking a head that unnerves him. He hadn’t really known Wakako all that well, and it would take something worse than that to turn his stomach at this point. It’s something else that slowly stirs in the back of his mind, sent out from where it’d been filed away to ever-so-politely deliver itself into his thoughts. 

Cedric’s eyes glance over the rest of the group until he finds Hisashi. He’s not surprised to find that Hisashi is already looking back at him. Of course he would. There’s an unspoken understanding between them. It’s an instinct just as familiar as the smell of Poppy’s blood pooling on the floor. Ah. Right. That.

He looks back towards the corpse on the ground with no particular emotion on his face, in part because he’s already separated the two in his mind—Poppy the person, and the thing someone has left on the ground like a puppet whose strings have all been cut. (The other part was simply that he didn’t have many feelings about Poppy aside from… frustration.)

I pity those who don't understand or have the love of a family. Nothing can truly forge bonds like blood does…

Some ugly, bitter part of him stares down at the red pool and can only feel that frustration melt into vindication. What good is your blood doing for you now, Poppy? he thinks. The answer, of course, is: Not much. But Cedric already knew that.

Poppy’s lofty talk of family had made his stomach twist in ways that the scene in front of him could never. This scene, Cedric knows, is where blood will leave you. This is what happens when you put your faith into something that will always go running out on you at the barest hint of an escape. Maybe Poppy’s pity for him had been displaced. Cedric certainly wouldn’t be bothering with placing his anywhere.

But there are bonds other than blood—ones that far outlast it. Ones that Poppy was so fond of overlooking. Cedric looks around the group once again, noting (but not quite understanding) the apparent grief that other people felt. These are bonds didn't need blood. These are bonds will still be there, long past when the red stain left on the library floor is mopped up and forgotten. 

His gaze drifts to Alou, as the man sits curled up in the chair with Micah by his side. Even here, Cedric won’t risk misplacing his pity. He still remembers what Alou told him, after Hisashi had been executed.

If Poppy was gone... I would feel very much like a ghost.

Well, Cedric thinks to himself, we both know you won't be haunting anything for too long. Poppy will be back soon enough, after all.

Finally, he looks back towards the other body curled up in a chair. The one missing its loud, obnoxious, very lively head. Maybe this is where his pity should go—to something with no eyes to see it in his stare, or ears to hear it in his words, or mouth to protest against it. To prove him wrong.

If it’s misplaced there, then maybe it doesn’t belong anywhere at all. 

It would only make sense, coming from him.

This is most certainly one of Shirleys weirdest traits. That she is always waving at you like “There you are! Come over here!”, like she is waiting at a party and was waiting for you to join her. Then again, for her fighting probably is like a party XD

I have to say I do find the color-choice for Cedrics Outfit a bit odd. The gold aside, it actually matches Shirleys color-pattern, tho in a reverse way, because obviously with Shirley the darker colors are more prominent. But that is exactly my point. Why chose white for his jacket? White usually represents someone “good” and “pure” which might have fitted the CS1/CS2 Cedric, but certainly not Princey Boy here. It is almost laughable that Rean on the other hand is currently canonly wearing an all black outfit, even tho there is no evil bone in this guy. (Tho with Rean its just an aesthetic issue. White just isn’t doing well with his current haircolor ^^’ Cedrics blond should do just fine with both dark and light colors and given that he is an Rise Arnor, one would wonder why they wouldn’t have chosen more red in his clothes...)

Her previous comment, about her father probably having a blast down at the surface with so much action going on makes it almost sound like she regrets not being part of that action and Stuck with the most arrogant prince in Zemuria instead, but this comments lets you know that she isn’t su happy about this whole war situation at all and this is probably why she doesn’t really want to be a big part of it despite of that. That is really one of the moments were she surprises you even more then she already did throughout the game. She is bloody Shirley, you would expect her jumping for joy at the prospects of lots of bloody fights and would almost assume that as soon as she is done here she will jump off the fortress and join her father and the red constellation in the fighting. Instead, she makes it clear she does like the idea of joining the action, but not the circumstances that lead to it. It is a wonderful sign of her ever so slightly growing conscience. Something she didn’t yet have much of in Crossbell, but that must have come to live slowly but surely ever since her faithful final fight there. She wants people to fight because of their own darkness and craziness, desperation or their which for power, revenge or whatever else it is that usually leads to fighting and wars. This time tho, this war has been feed by the curse. And while the curse itselfs feeds on the darkness and weaknesses of the people and uses that to make them want war with all their might, people like Alan are a perfect example that this damned curse is twisting the minds of people so much, that their aren’t themselves anymore. They aren’t bloodthirsty in real life. The true Alan would have never wanted to be on the frontlines of a forced war just to play a hero. So in a sense, for Shirley, it must feel like fighting against mindless puppets, some of them not even made for the darkness of war. She sure wouldn’t shy away from killing civilians if the jobs demands it, but I think she experiences only true joy in a battle, if she can fight strong opponens who are not just ready but also willing to fight because they either want to or have a good reason to. On the surface you have a bunch of man with desperation or pride but neither really wants to fight that war, aside from the aforementioned mindless puppet controlled by the curse and in a sense, they too do not REALLY want to fight. This is just not how Shirley would have a war. Plus... I don’t think she sees any fun in the world ending either. This whole war could be so much fun for her, but it is not and I guess that is really frustrating for her.

Also... don’t forget she saw firsthand with Cedric how he boy who was never meant to kill anybody, actually was willing to sacrifice his own brother and kill an innocent girl just for his goal and pride. I guess she has grown to much of that conscience to enjoy that.

I loved that reaction XD Princeboy is going off with his overconfident arrogance once more and her reaction is this. I always say that I do believe that Shirley knew Cedric would lose. She has experience fighting Rean and his team, she has seen what Cedric is capable of and as a person who was raised to fight, she is surely able to see how strong people are and how much willpower they have and can deduct their chances of winning. She has seen Cedric fuck it up against only 4 Panzer-Soldats and all the just a week or two ago. So really, how high were his chances to win this battle against two diving knights and one more panzer soldat? Not to mention that both Rean and Crow have way more experience piloting their Knights and fighting other Knights with it, then Cedric has. The odds are absolutely against him, even with a powerboost from Shirley and for someone as battle experienced as Shirley, that was easy to see. Plus, even tho I might stretch it a little here, I think Shirley wanted Cedric to lose. That was, after all, the best outcome for him and as she cares about him, its easy to assume that that is the outcome she wished for.

Cedric gets confronts about his weaknesses, inconsistency's and the fact that some things he does don’t add up and all the while, Shirley is standing there, looking at him and smiling. That is something I’ve noticed when I played it the very first time and it absolutely confused me at that moment. Why would she enjoy watching him being roasted like that? She might be a twisted character, but isn’t that exactly why she should stop all this talking and ask to get to the fight? Isn’t Cedric wavering a disadvantage to her desire for a good fight? And shouldn’t she, after all we’ve seen, have some sort of compassion for her battle-partner and try to stop people from making him doubt and feel bad about himself?

Only later did I realize that Shirley has been waiting for this moments. That she has noticed all that too and now finally someone manages to get through to Cedric and you’ve seen by his Aura and his eyes, that the curse has immensely loosened his hold on him thanks to that and Shirley wanted that. This is the reason why she is standing there like this, watching him while smiling. It seems like she enjoys seeing him being roasted at first, but she only watches with satisfaction, how his mask finally crumbles.

Which puts into question how she knows the difference between the Cedric before and after the Gral. But I always say that it might be simply Shirleys battle-experience that showed her that something was not “the real Cedric” about the things he did and said and was willing to sacrifice for his goals. She might have watched him before like any Erebonian-Citizen (although she is not exactly living in Erebonia) would, when she was in his kingdom. They weren’t actively working togethe runtil the end of what happened at the Gral and Ourobors and the red constellation have only joined Osborne shortly before the Gral. So it has to be something like that, its not like there is any chance those two knew each other beforehand, given who he is and who she is and the fact that smol Cedric would have been absolutely terrified by a girl called a “man eating tiger” XD

Man I wish... *achem* I mean, I am sure a lot if man and woman wish to get a look like that from her. Its almost scary tho, that she looks so gentle and caring ^^’

What I really like about this moment is the fact that Shirley is doing what anyone else should have done to people like Crow. Make sure they don’t just hide behind their excuses. Just like Ash did, when he said that at the end of the day, he did pull the trigger himself and not the curse. At the end of the day, it was his darkness and his weakness that made him give in to the curse and pull the trigger. And Shirley makes sure Cedric understands that too, that his wish for accepters, power and strength had led to him giving the curse full control over him. That doesn’t mean to hate them, to condemn them or to leave them behind - this isn’t what Shirley does either - but it means to make them face their mistakes, their faults and their weaknesses and do not just hide behind and convenient excuse. It is also, in a sense, the only way for them to grow. Accepting their wrongdoings and trying to fix things or at least do better from now on. And its a great thing to get that from someone like Shirley. She has done some damn shit in her short life already, but it seems like she understood to stand up to them is true strength and not just that it speaks of a level of maturity that you would not have expected from her it also shows, once again that she has grown a conscience.

Accepting who he really is and what he truly felt and what his reason was for allowing the curse to take over, was a necessary step for Cedrics growth and who on earth would have ether thought he would need to thank bloody Shirley for it? (Among others, of course, but she said the things, no one else dared to...)

As I was saying. She wanted it to be over. She doesn’t look like she was disappointed that Cedric lost either. Her reaction is completely different from the one in the basin. I guess that is because now they are both completely freed from the curse.

And all that, despite the fact that she likely knew that he would lose, maybe even wanted him to lose. Shows how important he is to her... And sure enough, once again, that gentle look is for him.

Imagine what a toll it must have taken on someone like her, with that amount of energy, such a strong will to fight and her tendency to lose control when she gets overly excited in a fight and needs “a little taste” to actually hold back for weeks. And all that... for Cedric.

So is Angie and she certainly chose a man not exactly fitting her usual taste either. Just saying... (No but seriously, Angie fell for the - to quote Celine here - fat mechanic, while she is usually into pettit and cute looking girls. So Shirley, who is into strong willed woman ending up with a weak babyface-prince doesn’t seem so unlikely either, now does it?)

Yeah, it's adorable!! And as creepy as it is, the Cedric puppet is really well-designed and operated! The mouth and eyes move, and so do his fingers!

I love how they included a snippet of King Cedric the Great, but excluded anything about stealing the amulet and taking over the kingdom.

"Splendid! I taught her everything she knows!" AWWWW. Now why couldn't he have reacted with similar pride when his young apprentice used his family wand (a powerful wand that is surely trickly to use) to cast the unbewitching spell (surely a tricky spell to cast) to free them all in the finale, instead of defensively snatching his wand back and snapping "I'll take that back, thank you very much!" (It was such a season 1 reaction, honestly). And Craig had a hand in writing the finale too!!

ANYWAY. Adorable!!

I watched the live show recording (the Sofia the First segment) and it's so cute honestly 😭😭😭 I like how proud Cedric looks of Sofia after she casts the spell.

Harry and Draco knew they were soulmates from the beginning of their Hogwarts years. Draco thought it was amazing news. Harry was horrified by the fact it was a boy. He didn't know it was possible for boys to love each other and the fact that Draco was courting him was atrocious. 

So they decided to keep it a secret and Draco punished Harry by bullying him through the years out of jealousy and because he held a grudge. 

Harry felt the pain through the bond, the invisible red string pulling many times. The anger  peaked when they fought together in sixth year, in that bathroom. The bond made it worse and the hatred became unbearable for both of them. How could fate be this evil? 

During the war Draco was relieved to see Harry. He knew it was him. The red string around his pinky finger was unavoidable. Having a soulmate on the good side made Draco understand how deeply involved he was and how all he wanted was to have Harry's attention. 

Harry was his soulmate, if he couldn't love him, then Draco made sure he would be there, even if they hated each other. But all Draco wanted was Harry, all for himself. 

And Harry saw that in Draco's eyes when he lied to his aunt. He lied to her about Harry's face. 

When they escaped, Ron and Hermione didn't understand Draco's behaviour. That would have been the perfect move and they knew Draco knew it was Harry. So Harry told them. About everything. Them being soulmates, the string, the years of hate. Hermione finally connected the dots. She finally realised how smitten Draco was with Harry and what the bullying actually meant. Ron laughed but Harry didn't. 

After fourth year, Harry learned more about his sexuality but hadn’t wanted to talk about it. Cedric was there, handsome and fit, but his death was traumatic for Harry and he decided to stay away from boys. 

At the end of the war, Harry was relieved to see Draco was alive. The red string was bright and pulled sometimes. 

After experiencing death and grief during that summer, Harry decided that it was enough. Seven years of avoiding the subject, avoiding the only person fate had decided to give him. It would end during this eighth year. 

So naturally, when Harry saw Draco sitting uncertainly beside the other houses at the new table in their new eighth year common, Harry's heart melted. Draco had spent the summer apologising personally to everybody. He had helped to rebuild the castle. He had spent time at St. Mungo’s to learn how to help and heal wounds. He was fierce and even if the sixth and fifth years still hated the Slytherins, the battle had helped the seventh and eighth years to forgive them, knowing they were also puppets and children during the war. 

The Golden Trio’s entrance wasn't really invisible. Every student and even the teachers clapped their hands to celebrate and congratulate them once again. But Ron and Hermione saw that Harry only had eyes for one particular person. 

Ron sighed and rolled his eyes while Hermione squeezed Harry's bicep. He turned his head to look at them and they nodded, even if it was a bad idea. 

Harry smiled mischievously and walked quickly toward their new table. Draco was standing there, clapping with the others, but his face was more shy and he tried to be as invisible as possible in front of the Saviour of the Wizarding World. 

But Harry had other plans. He grabbed the green and silver tie to pull Draco closer, noses touching as he looked at him, surprise glittering in the silver eyes. 

"What are you doing?" Draco whispered, unsure about the situation as gasps and whispers ran around the room. 

"May I?" Harry asked, whispering, but his heart was beating fast. This was something he should have done years ago. 

"You may." Draco blushed and smiled timidly. 

The room fell silent. They all thought a battle was about to start but they were all shocked to see the most known rivals of the school kiss each other passionately.

Unpopular Harry Potter Opinions because I'm feeling nostalgic.

TW: EMOTIONAL INCEST, PARENTAL ABUSE

I don't like Snape and I'm nuetral for Dumbledore, but some of you are a little too hard on them.

I do like the Maurauders era, but that is because the boys are flawed. They're intersting characters.

I also don't really ship that much in Harry Potter as a while. Just Perciver and occasionally Plantseeker (And Ronks is cute).

I used to like Wolfstar, but the fandom ruined it.

Saying that the Maurauder fans are better than the Golden Trio fans is just "I'm Not Like Other Girls" energy.

I get that you're frustrated Hermionie is the main character but you need to let her live. She is a teenager, she isn't going to be perfect.

I don't care that much for Ginny. In the first three (four?) books, her character truly had potential, and then I just didn't care enough about her. Hinny isn't a bad relationship, it's a boring one.

I cannot believe I have to write this, but Harry and Hermionie are not incest. Not only do those words mean two different things, in the context of what anti Harmionies are describing, but people being like siblings is not the same as actually being siblings.

Peter Pettigrew was smart. He was one of the best villains of the series, and he shouldn't be ignored.

It's not that big of a deal to say Bellatrix is your favorite character. No one is excusing her actions.

I don't like Molly Weasley, but I think it was a good choice to make her kill Bellatrix, leaning into the motherhood love theme that JK R*wling was going for.

Harry, Ron, and Hermionie saved the school, Neville got the courage to do something he wasn't ready to do, and the Slytherins won the house cup for six years. The Gryffindors deserved the house cup this year.

If anything, Peter Pettigrew should be a Ravenclaw.

Chamber of Secrets book > Sorcerers Stone book

Sorcerer's Stone movie > Chamber of Secrets movie

(Not really an unpopular opinion, just one that isn't talked about often) The first three movies were amazing, fourth and sixth movies were a 4 through 6 out of ten, and the rest are solid 7/10 movies.

There definitely needs to be more diversity in Harry Potter, and JKR is a terf and I hate her, but I don't think every single ship would have been together if she weren't one. Also keep in mind that these books take place in the 90s. I don't think she'd make any of them gay in the books itself if it wasn't, but this particular situation was not just her being a coward.

That being said, I will never defend JK Rowling.

The worst DADA teacher, as a teacher, was Lockhart. As a human, it was obviously Umbridge.

The Starkid Harry Potter musicals aren't that good. Potter Puppet Pals, on the other hand? I love them.

The Cursed Child is fine on its own.

Let people call themselves Potterheads if they want. It doesn't effect you in any way.

None of the deaths struk me as that sad, besides Cedric's and Colin's.

I don't like Draco, I think Draco's home life should be explored. Not a redemption arc, but to understand why he turned out this way. If his parents didn't actively abuse him, they definitely taught him their values.

Shipping Hedric is wrong, but saying Harry had a crush on Cedric is fine.

Ron isn't a character that I ever cared about.
