You’re scrolling through Tik Tok when you come across yet another interaction of Seungmin with a fan at Lolla. Reading through the comments, they are rife with fans giggling and commenting about the op missing an opportunity to sign an NDA.

One comment read, “Girl. The way he smiled at you. His eyes were so bright and kind. That right there was your chance at an NDA. You fumbled that. *crying emoji*”

You stifle a laugh, but the sound is a little louder than you mean for it to be.

“What?” Seungmin asks from beside you, not even looking up from writing in his journal beside you.

You turn to look at him, taking in his profile. He is handsome, anyone would be blind not to see that, but the fascination and determination of some fans to sign an NDA with an idol is baffling to you.

Seungmin swallows, and you follow the curve of his neck and adam’s apple, finding yourself a little lost in a trance.

“You’re staring,” he comments.

“I am,” you agree, but you don’t look away. Instead you set down your phone and scoot closer to him on the bed. “Explain something to me,” you start picking up your phone again, opening it up to share the video with him.

“There it is,” he chuckles fondly, placing his pencil in his notebook, closing it and setting it safely on the bedside table. “How may I enlighten my best friend today?” he turns to look at you, brown eyes bright and sparkling and for a brief moment your heart jumps in your chest. Okay, maybe you get what those comments are talking about, but still. He is Seungmin. He is your best friend.

You open up your phone and show him the video. He smiles softly, and it’s evident on his face that he is remembering the interaction. The video ends and he looks at you, puzzled, his eyebrows furrowed slightly before he raises one at you questioningly.

“What is there to explain?” he asks.

You laugh and take the phone from him and open up the comments. You hand the phone back to him and say, “That. Help me understand.”

He reads carefully, taking a little longer than you really expect.

Then he laughs his short little laugh, the sound tinkling out of him like a song and you want to smack him upside the head. However, you find yourself laughing with him instead.

“Y/N, do I really need to explain to you what an NDA is?” he asks, his voice holding a light and teasing lilt to it.

“Ha!” you burst out, punching him in the shoulder and tearing your phone from his slender hand. “I know what a fucking NDA is, asshat.”

He chuckles again, still staring at you. There is a playful smirk on his face as he waits for you to provide context.

“What I mean,” you sigh exaggeratedly, “What’s with the fascination of some fans to sign an NDA with an idol? Is that like the goal of fans?”

He narrows his eyes at you then, taking in what you asked. He seems to be genuinely considering your question. You turn on the bed to face him, legs crossed in front you and hands resting in your lap as you watch him think.

“I suppose its because they have this ideal of the idol built up in there head,” he starts before meeting your eyes. “An NDA would give them the opportunity to find out if that ideal is true or not.”

You hum in response. It makes sense, you guess, but you can’t completely fathom wanting to spend time with a complete stranger. At the end of the day, that’s really what they are.

“And,” he starts and you look back at him brought out of your thoughts. “They hope that one meeting will help them form a bond that they think is there,” he says frankly.

“Does it?” you ask, genuinely curious.

“I wouldn’t know. I’ve never signed one,” he admits.

“Never?” you ask before you can stop yourself.

“Come on, Y/N. You know me better than that. At least I would think you do,” he responds, a tiny bit of hurt flashing across his face before its replaced with something you can’t quite name.

“I do, sorry,” you apologize, looking down at your hands. “I just, I don’t know. The idea seems so strange to me, I guess. I’m glad you’re already my best friend. Our bond is already built. I don’t need an NDA to confirm that,” you smile fondly before looking back at him.

“You know,” he says, moving closer to your legs, “NDA’s are signed for a lot of reasons. Usually not the reason we’re talking about.” He stares into your eyes, it’s piercing look and it’s like you’re caught there, unable to move. Unable to breathe.

“Oh?” is all you can manage.

His eyes flick down to your lips, lingering there then purposefully meeting your eyes again. His brown boba eyes widen with the unspoken question causing you to lick your lips unconsciously. Instead of an answer, you lean forward slowly, hesitantly. That seems to be the only answer he needs before he presses his mouth against yours. His lips are soft. You wouldn’t say softer than you imagined because you had really never considered them. Not until now. Now, they’re moving against yours and your entire body is warm. They’re soft, almost pillowy and comforting. He reaches his hand out to cup your jaw as he deepens the kiss and you feel like you’ve been ignited from the inside. Just when your lungs are ready to scream, he pulls away his eyes fluttering open and meeting yours.

“Can we sign that NDA now?” you joke with a nervous chuckle.

His arms wrap around your waist and pull you into his lap, his lips crashing against yours again without warning. The kiss is fierce and desperate this time as you lean into him and run your fingers through the tiny hairs at the base of his neck. You hold him against you as he licks into your mouth hungrily, like he has wanted you for a long time.

“Fuck,” he breathes as you pull apart again. “I can’t believe we just did that,” he admits, his head falling back against his headboard with a thud.

“I think I’d like to keep doing that,” you admit.

“Yeah?” he asks, his head snapping back up, his eyes meeting yours.

“Definitely,” you chuckle, your hand coming to his face as you run your thumb along his jawline. “Better get that NDA written up,” you tease.

He growls playfully and flips you on your back, looking down at you. The air is punched out of you when you land and he is hovering over you, a new look across his face. A look of admiration and love, but also hunger and desire.

“Shut the fuck up about the NDA,” he grits out, but the playful glint in his eyes tells you there is no malice in his words. “It’s just me and you. My best friend. I wouldn’t want to hide that,” he admits, capturing your lips in a soft kiss as he cages you in beneath him, his body just hovering over you as if he is waiting for that last bit of the dam to break. “I love you,” he barely whispers against your lips and your world is thrown off kilter. Kim Seungmin loves you. And you realize just how much you love him. How you always have.

Your hands run along his sides and glide up his lean back as you pull him down completely on you, his lips finding yours again.

Funny how talking about an NDA can make two best friends realize they're madly in love with each other.

I was like “oh I wanna finish up some more Miis soon!!!” and then lost my Apple Pencil about 5% of the way through my drawing, so I had to do like 80% of it with just my finger 😭😭😭. And then today I was moving my covers to get comfy in my bed, and it fell off of my bed and ended up on the floor. So at least I have that back for the rest of it.

like i first started out digital art on a small wacom and now i can’t even use it without cringing 😭

I really did mean for break and DID have it. Just not as large of a break that I thought but did feel enough of a break to be one…I think I said break too many times I’ve lost the direction of where I was going with this

—ANYWAYS. it was very meaningful and very good for me. like I tried to not at all think about art and enjoy other stuff and well yeah I came back to art eventually and did urges to draw but I didn’t succumb to it mainly because I didn’t feel ready but I did start to just…watch videos.

—a lot of informative anatomy videos and stuff and like got around to wanting to draw then….and this time I really just wanted to scribble thingies in

��and just ehhh I forgot my main first thoughts as I was doing it tbh. but I know that I was focusing on the arms and stuff and I wanted to do it like in drawing circle for elbow first etc and then I wanted to focus on the pelvis. I did an overdraw for one of the figures too of how the pelvis would be like and then draw over it how the legs and stuff would connect cuz the first one looked like ??? what was that lol

—but I still didn’t feel like I really how things are structured and how legs are connected to it and so videos helped a lot in that 😌 I had like geneallllk understanding but it wasn’t enough and like looking at pelvis diff angles and stuff wasn’t enough either and I felt like I didn’t understand properly how leg was connected but I think I got it now….? I say that but I still feel like I need to strength my knowledge some more. it’s not as strong as it can be.

—anyways after that I was doing other stuff but still wanted to draw so I got out the pen n paper

—I didn’t have any real goal….i just had urge to draw smth…. Did some random doodles and kinda focusing a bit on drawing boxes and stuff I saw around me. Practicing my lines too (and lol I feel like my line on paper is so much better than line on digital….. idk if it’s just the texture of paper… rather than the glass or iPad but it feels like? my line control is so much better lol maybe it’s the knock off Apple Pencil that’s just bad) (sigh why did my pencil have to break 😔)

—also Drew juv n srda for a bit since I was getting bored of doing random stuff and ahhhh honestly just kinda feeling upset cuz I felt like I completely forgot everything 😭😭😭 on how to even sketch in a decent figure pose… 😔😔😔

—and I forgot what happened in the middle lol…? but I think I watched more videos and stuff and then tried to contrast the figure pose again after some time and this time…? I think I got it…! also one thing I realised with the arms is that lollll I’ve been forgetting to draw in deltoid…fjjfjfjdj. anyways very happy with the lower part of this page. I feel like that’s when I started to Get It

—I’ve been wanting to draw hands better but I think the problem with how I’ve been drawing/kinda practising hands before is that when I tried to draw what I saw in refs the problem was that I felt like my knowledge of hand was insufficient like I knew general/gist stuff but like… I didn’t feel like I had the best understanding so I watched a lot of hand anatomy stuff (thank you proko…) and it helped in getting more understanding of what’s going on with the hands and stuff and so when I was sketching in this time… it felt more fun and I liked this session of drawing hands to any other even if they didn’t turn out well cuz I felt like my understanding was much better.

—also added in some finger single studies since that’s what im very weak in also I feel like I need to better understand the fat/muscle sides of the pinkie and stuff since I don’t think I get that well.. I’ve been using method of drawing in the knuckle/joints of where figures would be after drawing in palm and it helped really great with getting the spacing and stuff down.

—like example when I say I didn’t get the understanding of hand before: like I knew how hand works and stuff but like I feel my understanding/structure of the hand was like…. very not fresh? but now I can imagine better and know what’s there. that I just need to focus on how to draw it and feel for how it all connects and stuff…. that’s what I mean

—I think the best hand kinda turned out to be the one where I didn’t do the whole drawing in the joints for hands… it was the second last hand I did and I felts like I had general idea of where the fingers go so I just drew in the general shape and it was much easier to clearly draw in the bend of the fingers that it turned out to look better… idk how to put this into words but yeah…

—I honestly did have plans to do more figure studies and stuff but I got swept by things and it didn’t come to be but yeah. very happy n satisfied with how this day turned out to be. the break was very well needed<3 it’s kind of funny since it doesn’t seem like a break but for real. I usually think of art 24/7 and even when im not drawing im usually thinking about it or watching videos about it. and well taking this break where I purposely drew my attention away from that was very good. I need that break. I think from here things are gonna go slow and stuff. Which is a pace I probs need. to ingest more construction/understanding information that I can then apply/strength my figure prac drawing….

—one thing I do want to focus on is the heads. like I noticed when I draw heads…..like for normal angles the problem is that I don’t have a structure and stuff for chin/jaw etc and it’s kind of….a lot of fumbling.? so I think I just need to get better understanding and think of way to draw it in a way that’s less more fumbling lol.

I wanted to show you guys what I ate today! This is a pretty average day for me since I’ve started focusing on eating better and losing weight.

A little bit about my eating habits:

I base my calorie intake on my Fitbit so my calorie limit fluctuates throughout the day as I burn more and more calories. I’ll post a screenshot of the final intake according to the Fitbit app.

I weigh all my food out with a food scale. I prefer it to using measuring cups/spoons bc it seems easier and I also don’t have to worry about dirtying any extra dishes.

I don’t plan my meals in advance. I eat what sounds good for each meal. While you won’t see it today, I sometimes manage to fit a fast food meal into my calories, like yesterday I had Arby’s and was still below my target goal by 1,200.

Total: 534

Note: Usually I just have the smoothie for breakfast but I started my period today so wanted to eat a little more. I also work a late shift today so I tend to sleep longer and have a late breakfast, meaning I skip lunch and just have a large breakfast and a small snack instead.

Total: 295

Note: We make our sweet tea with Splenda rather than real sugar just because we prefer the taste. It’s not a matter of saving calories or anything. I genuinely gag if the tea is made with real sugar LMAO.

This is a very typical snack for me tbh. I like to have a fruit or veggie and then I usually have pretzel sticks or a serving of white cheddar popcorn.

Total: 328

Note: We have a Texas Roadhouse Manager who comes in every so often and brings us bread and butter. My stomach was grumbling when she showed up so I decided to have some!

Total: (728+8 from Sesame Oil)= 736

Note: big dinner but I was so hungry after work haha. Something I’ve been doing on this journey is buying a rotisserie chicken on Sunday and then eating it Monday-Friday as it makes easy lunches and dinners for the work. So that’s what this chicken is.

Looking at this, that looks like so many dumplings but I swear to god I weighed it out and it was actually below the recommended serving size. I only ended up eating 5 because I was so full after the chicken and broccoli They have that brown color to them because I cook them in soy sauce a little (I do count the calories from soy sauce)

My total for the day: 1,893 calories.

My deficit goal is 1,000 and I'm actually below target today, meaning that if I so desired I could eat a little more, but I'm good for tonight as it's getting late here and I have to be up early.

Just finished the above book mentioned, so nothing at the moment. But I am planning on buying a copy of Catullus’ Poems soon ^^ What’s great about it is that the book has the translation and the original latin next to it, which makes it great for analysis because I feel like English translations of Latin/Greek literature doesn’t always quite capture the small nuances in the original.

Also, please give me book recommendations; all I read is non-fiction/science articles and I’ve gotta get back into reading fiction
