it's about Chris Pine designing a society where sex is purely recreational and with no kids in the equation- considering that the movie seems based on the nuclear family model in the 50s, it's super interesting because reproduction 1. was used to keep women at home 2. to keep men at work so they could support their family 3. assured the system's longevity 4. promoted purity culture and heterosexual sex as the only right way (sex must be productive). Queer people posed a threat to that economic balance because they could be households of two men working/not have children to care for/two emancipated women, etc.. and so they were ostracized. The pressure to get married early so you could have kids kept everyone in check in the system and repressed a shit ton of desires and personal ambitions. Victory still actively oppresses women and makes them dependant of their husbands for some reason but what exactly in Chris Pine's society effectively represses queer desire between men? even though it's all very aggressively heterosexual? chris pine subconsciously enabled loopholes for his own evil gay profit and that's on that, he keeps the boys™ all for himself all day and some more
