y'know, the different factions of spn fandom on tumblr do fundamentally and vehemently disagree with each other about a lot of things, and many of the factions actively hate one another, but i just want to say for the record that i appreciate the fact that this site is not overrun with painfully hetero facebook fans. i just saw someone over there saying with their whole chest that they fully expected the finale to have dean meeting jo harvelle in heaven and them getting afterlife married, and someone else angrily responded that this was obviously never going to happen because clearly dean was still in love with lisa braeden who would therefore be his finale bride (i guess this person expected her to die in the finale somehow?), and then someone ELSE responded that they wouldn't want to see either of those things happen because they like to pretend dean is their boyfriend and it would feel like cheating(!!!!) if he ended up with one of them and they'd never be able to fantasize about him anymore. and all of these comments had over a dozen people agreeing with them.

I came up with the idea for today's love fest over the weekend when I saw a lot of comments from people expressing sadness about the cancellation, and then also some embarrassment for feeling that way, or feeling alone in their emotions. I wanted to do something positive that felt personal and that would remind people that fandom isn't going anywhere.

Originally I thought to do it a few days after the WJW with DJenks, figuring we'd need another boost after that high wore off. Obviously the WJW didn't end up happening, but then I realized it was Rhys' birthday today, so that also felt like a great reason to spread a bit of love (not that you ever need a reason for that!).

And honestly, while the whole point was to make other people smile, the whole experience really boosted my own spirits tremendously. While stalking perusing everyone's blogs for inspo, I was reminded quite powerfully just how many extremely kind, talented, smart, funny, insightful, beautiful people there are in this fandom.

So I just want to say thank you. All of you who create gifs, make art, write fic, analyze the show, share shit posts, or reblog all of the above so we can see it again and again and again, you have made a difference in my fandom experience. With every post, you made me fall in love with Ed and Stede and the whole crew just a little bit more. Whether you're someone who's always in the tags or someone who prefers to quietly reblog, you have made my time here very special and I'm so grateful. 💕

so about our new beloathed (but very funny) troll innocent-fandomite. I live in Israel so when I check the timestamps of posts on here it shows them to me in the Jerusalem timezone (which is the timezone for all of Israel). For someone who claims to be living in Israel most of their posts are posted somewhere around 2AM here, the earliest I've seen them post is their pinned post at 10PM. now this is very hypocritical of my night owl ass reblogging posts well into 4AM but I'm just saying if it took us comparing timezones for tikkunolamresistance to deactivate maybe we can do it again. also it makes them look even less believable if you somehow believe they're genuine and not the most obvious strawman troll.

now i cld take the boring route and its a ref to the book when dally says something along the lines of “-murder wrap, god i thought i left that behind in new york” BUT instead im gonna take the fun route

dallas winston stuck in time, repeating that terrible week over and over. he doesn’t know why but he has the memories of what the first time (the boys running to him, him and darry’s fight, johnny dying… him dying) but for some odd reason no one else does

he learns early on that he can’t change anyone else’s actions, only his own. so the first time he’s sent back, the first time he tries to change the outcome of things, he doesn’t give johnny the blade. that’s what ruined things ain’t it ? they dang blade. if johnny didn’t have the blade then bob wouldn’t’ve died and the boys wouldn’t’ve had to go on the run.

except. without the blade. dally watches from behind some bushes that without the blade johnny can’t save pony. dally watches as johnny still breaks free from the guys that were holding him back but bobs a fair bit stronger than him. johnny can hold his own for a little while sure; tussle for a little while but pony was already unconscious when johnny broke free. pony was already unconscious and under that water for a little too long while johnny and bob fought. eventually johnny gets the upper hand since bob is still far too drunk to be too coherent in a fight and him and his outfit run away.

dally had to watch from behind the bushes as johnny pulled an unconscious pony from the fountain. he had to watch as johnny tried his best to wake up pony. he had to watch the realization settle in johnnys face when pony wouldn’t wake up. he had to watch as johnny cried silently and held pony as close as he could, like if he gave pony enough body heat, enough physical contact it would bring him back

that week was a painful one (before this, dally thought the original reality, the one where he… well he thought that reality was worst he’d ever see darry. but in this one? where pony dies? god dallas never wants to darrel like that again. or johnny. if johnny was quiet before johnny never speaks afterwards.), and when he woke up to do it all over again (of which he, loathe it to say, would be internally grateful for) dally makes a glaring red mental note to find something else to change. he makes a glaring red mental note to always give johnny something to defend himself with.
