that's random but i've been getting more asks from accounts asking for help on my ask blog, and the thing is, some of these seem suspicious

not only that, but i'm getting overwhelmed

i'm a small account, i do support palestine and keep up with news, but posting these does nothing, and in some cases it's people asking for cash, money that i don't have

I started this fluff and crack taken seriously fic (like what if Geto was not involved in JJK0 so Kenjaku could never use him as a vessel, and what if Hanami gets the redemption arc they deserved) six months ago and I am still intimidated by the exchange event, why do so many vital moments to the plot happen then

So I researched hypothermia and made a chart of the symptoms when it sets in and is recovered from and I wrote a satosugu/reader hypothermia chapter that is. Months in the future from the exchange event ndjakxkajxkdlaldkcksk

The thing for me w/ The Loyal Pin so far is that the surface-level narrative, the on-its-face text, is extremely fun, cute, sexy, visually indulgent, entertaining, etc etc. I'm having a great time.

BUT

The under-the-surface narrative, all the fucking weird power shit between Anin and her whole family and Patt and Pin and the servants, it is so crunchy tasty delicious and I am actively in pain that I don't know or trust that the story is going anywhere with any of it. You know? When Anin casually abuses her power and everyone in her life praises her for it and calls her brilliant and bold and special and daring, when Patt beats Pin for Anin's choices (playing near a snake Pin LET BITE HER TO PROTECT ANIN) like some kind of whipping girl, when Prik is the most devoted telepathically-connected minion sidekick anyone could ever ask for but can only play tennis if Anin feels like granting her the privilege (+ when Anin friendzoning her is a foregone conclusion by the narrative), ahhhhh there's just SOOO MUCHHHH happening, the possessive ownership Anin feels for Pin is so delicious and Theerapanyakulian, and I do wish that I could just immerse myself in it fully believing it was going somewhere and not just. Existing. Ambiently. As you do in a story about royals and servants and servantfamily.

I'm curious about transformers. Where should I start?

Ok so, this franchise has been around since the 80s and has been rebooted dozens of times. There are so many places to start but it wholly depends on what you're looking for in a story.

I've been asked this before and here was my response from a few years ago. It mostly holds up I think.

This post also gives a pretty good summary of a few starting points, but likewise is a few years old at this point. There are some newer installations to the franchise that I would also recommend, the main one being Transformers One.

Transformers One is meant to be a bite-sized intro into Transformers that was shown on the big screen for a wide audience. It's a fresh start that shows the backstory behind the war that so many other series focus on. I really liked it for the animation, plot, and focus on character relationships. By nature of being a movie it feels a little bit rushed especially in the second half, but it's quite forgivable.

In the end remember that Transformers is like 90% children's media, and while some series try to be a little bit more serious and appeal to adult audiences, they're still giant robots that turn into cars and punch each other and Hasbro wants kids to buy their toys. I'd say the series with the most complexity is the IDW comics, but it can be a little bit daunting due to the sheer volume of... volumes. In my older answer there is a reading order list that is helpful, and know it's not necessary to read 100% of the comics to enjoy the more popular parts of it.

Also TFwiki is an invaluable resource for a new fan. When I was newer to the fandom I had to consult it constantly.

I think something about transformers that makes it so appealing is the fandom built around it. It is large, longstanding, and there is a niche for pretty much everyone. I ignore a good portion of the fandom and even then there is no shortage of people who have similar ways of enjoying the series.

tbh kind of glad the bucks got written off now since i think it simplifies the power struggle btwn mox and the rest of the locker room and leaves a lot fewer questions about what the elite are going to do about it. i don't honestly expect them to be gone for THAT long esp if they're going to be at wrestle dynasty though. i think it is very possible kenny comes back first and kenny's return is what brings the bucks back into the mix. We shall see
