just a lil thought i have: tsukishima kei isn't great with words, and he knows it. so he sends you a playlist with songs that could convey at least half of his love for you. he keeps the title simple, just your first name, no emojis, keyboard symbols, anything else. the picture is one of the many photos he secretly takes of you. you hate it, but he adores it. he updates the list of songs regularly, adding anything that reminds him of you, even if it's vaguely so. if you ask him about the reason for the playlist, he'll say it's because you need a better taste in music, but in the description, it says, "you're my everything. i love you."

"what do you think about the playlist i sent?" kei asks on the way home, trying to act nonchalant about it, but you notice him fiddling with his fingers. you take one of his hands and clasp it with yours, swinging your arms just a bit.

"it's perfect. i love it." you grin up at him, and he gives you a small smile in turn. he tugs you in towards him and rests the arm you're holding onto around your shoulders, pulling you close.

"the picture is awful though, it'd be so much better if you'd replace it."

"continue dreaming."

"oh, c'mon, kei!"

If anything he reads like someone who's attempting to chair an unruly group project.#Honestly I think this scene does so much to show us why JGY manages to become the respectable leader he does in the future.#He's actully good at leading discussions and doesn't rise to bait. He's trying to start a productive discussion with *real facts*.#There is genuine honour in his approach and he never jumps into the emotional bandwagon.#The issue at the moment is that he doesn't have same level of authority as the contrastively *worst* sect leader does.#Jin Guangshan has a very specific agenda - to gain power by throwing anyone he deems expendable into the gutter.#The story even explicitly calls him out on not being so different from Wen Rohan multiple times.#The insidious part is that he's surrounded by people who think this is all justified.#It's all about using the 'victim' narrative to leverage justification. I am 100% completely convinced that on Mount Yujun when Hua Cheng burst into thousands of butterflies that he did not mean to do that. That man was freaking out so bad at finally finding Xie Lian again and holding his hand and helping him and Xie Lian being right there that when he finally saw just the slightest glimpse of Xie Lian’s face and the thought of Xie Lian seeing him that his nerves took over and he burst into thousands of butterflies. All throughout the walk, Hua Cheng was trying his damnedest to keep it the fuck together (literally) but he just couldn’t anymore. You cannot convince me otherwise. He held Xie Lian’s hand all through the walk, but then he shakes Xie Lian’s hand off the next time they meet? Yeah, he’s scared he’s gonna explode into butterflies again and that would Not Be Cool and Ruin His Image he’s curating for Xie Lian as this cool reliable guy he can come to for help and depend on.

AU based off Nature except I kept thinking about it too hard. Dales not a good dad, but its such an easy problem for him to throw money at, and what do you do when a part is damaged? Well, you replace it.

Basically an AU where Dev gets to experience medical trauma and realizes much sooner how much his dad doesn't love him
