This may not be a new observation for people familiar with hypnosis and trauma, but has anyone noticed how hypnosis seems to work on very similar mechanisms as trauma does?
I was already deeply familiar with trauma academically and personally when I recently started researching hypnosis, and the similarities are making me understand more about how trauma triggers form.
Both hypnosis that induces hypnotic triggers and trauma triggers cause you to associate something with another thing on a deep, subconscious level. Obviously associations can occur in other ways, but only in trauma and hypnosis have I seen such a deep correlation where a single phrase can cause someone to very reflexively perform an action or experience strong emotions.
Additionally, both trauma and hypnosis can induce a dissociative barrier between the trigger and conscious awareness. I read this post on amnesia play for hypnosis kink and I was just struck by like. Holy shit. That is what it feels like when I find an alter with trauma memories I am not supposed to know, and for a second I can remember everything and as I am starting to react emotionally suddenly it all starts to slip away until it feels blank and blurry and I have no idea what it was even though I knew it just a second ago. (Which is why I think to have a full understanding of hypnosis you cannot just look at therapeutic use because I do not think in therapy a memory barrier would be induced like this.)
And it makes sense, right? Like a brain is a brain, its going to have the same structure and mechanisms even in different contexts so it makes sense that it's not that different but I was still quite shocked by it.
And the thing it is making me realize about how trauma forms has to do with what hypnosis is and how it works.
At its core (at least this is what I have read, in several places, though it is a theory and not confirmed, which is fair it is hard to confirm for certain anything about how the mind works due to the nature of it) hypnosis is a heightened state of focus. Generally during hypnosis you are focused and relaxed, and the relaxation is how you can clear your mind enough to focus only on the hypnotists words and the feelings they make you feel.
This made me realize that trauma formation occurs during intense focus as well. The focus is based on fear; one needs to be highly focused on what is going on in a survival situation or a situation where they are being hurt in order to best navigate the situation and get out as quickly as possible, and because that is a High Priority all of the brain is focused on it.
I believe this heightened state of focus in trauma accesses a similar part of the mind that hypnosis does, albeit through violent and unpleasant means, and this is why things that occur during trauma formation can trigger these feelings that were felt during trauma formation to come back.
This is just my personal observations do not take this as academic truth but I am very interested in studying these similarities. If anyone knows any academic papers on this or personal experiences people have written on this topic I would be very interested in reading them.
I will be researching it but of course looking up hypnosis and trauma brings up mainly how hypnosis can be used to treat trauma (which is relevant to the topic still) and it will be hard to find something talking about specifically how hypnosis can sort of mimic trauma on a mechanical level.
(tw: violence)
It's like as if trauma is being attacked and torn open, and hypnosis is surgery. One is violent and damaging, and one is careful and can be healing, but they both reach inside of you to touch the same places.

“I do not even believe that these gods exist”
“You don’t?”
“No. How can gods be as petty and foolish as people? When I observe the heaven and the beautiful harmony of the sun and moon, the planets and starts…how can such an intelligence, such a wisdom, be petty and foolish at the same time?
We give these so-called gods our own qualities. Fear, anger, jealousy, hatred — these are ours and we project them into these gods. I believe the real god is far beyond human emotions. The real god does not need our rituals or sacrifices.”

My parents never supported me financially
And they set stupid boundaries and cause lots of difficulty in understanding and perspective of values. They are also toxic and I'm carrying lots of baggage. Self love Inner child confidence Self worth etc. All my life I was trying to get rid of them but because of lack of money and the shitty economy in my country I still live with my mom. Never knew what job I really wanted I've always been on survival mood and have been trying to save myself from their shit and now here I'm without a good job in the late 20s and without any good saving. Fell like I lost my life. I know I may still have time but it's late for so many things.
Basically, you have much more important issues to solve rather than having sex for the first time.
Your parents have done lots of mistakes. Forgiveness and emotional separation are main tools for starting a healing process. Shadow work. Then you will need to take a responsibility for yourself & your life, also start working with your inner child to understand what you need and what to do.
It’s really hard to figure out what is your life purpose and what is the most suitable career for you when you had messed childhood.
The consequences of childhood psychotrauma:
- unable to trust anyone
- you don't know how to express your feelings;
– emotionally depressed (“I can’t fall in love”, “I don’t feel anything”);
- you can not be realized either in the family or in the profession;
- do not want (or are afraid) to have children;
- you have a tendency to depression, etc.
They unfortunately didn’t give you the most important thing - security.
“Stability, comfort, trust - this is what children should receive from their parents in first turn. If parents behave aggressively, humiliate, criticize the child, then, naturally, his confidence in life in general and in people in particular is undermined.
A lot of people suffer from communication problems: it is difficult for them to approach another, say something, convey their thoughts and emotions, and as a result, it is difficult to realize themselves. And why? But because they were already approaching a drunken mother at the age of four, and she spoke unequivocally both about the inappropriateness of the children's question, and about the inappropriateness of the child himself in this world. And she did it many times. Now the boy is 30, and it is clear that he does not even think about confidential communication with anyone.
Psychotrauma first of all forms a feeling of fear and anxiety, which results in phobias, panic attacks and DISTRUST OF PEOPLE.”
You should understand that it’s possible to heal. I’m great example of it and that’s why I help others effectively. The wounded healer. My psychiatrist wasn’t positive about my complete healing, so I figured out my ways. I was depressed af and couldn’t find a right career path. I didn’t know who I was and what kind of inner strength & power I had.
Well, I can create a hypno audio to forgive parents and yourself for you for free and give an access to my online library.

I've been so alone lately... I wish sometimes of so many things like Elliot that I feel like we all deal with indivually but realizing that sometimes as someone who cares abput peoples lives that deserve good things. Can intensify that. People sometimes dont acknowledge my trauma... Hell sometimes not even me.. But doing things I feel like I'm always there... I've been rocking, talking to myself/host... Simultaneously which is scary and doesn't make sense sometimes... I miss working but SkyNet and other government official lines are just... I dont know types of formalities to control me.. Because they're afraid of my mind.. Of me. I'm more afraid of myself than anything... Everythings bugged for me everyone can seem like bots to me because of their behavior. I just feel alone and not in a good way. I don't want anything from anyone I just want to acquire all the things in my own life to carry me forward (knowledge in those areas) I have a system I dont understand and the government hides it bc they're gaining perspective formulas from my trauma. Wish someone would mean the help they give.
I love you.

No. It's been about us doing something important. And that's what it still needs to be about.

Healing trauma
Dressing or covering up the wounds will not ever heal them.
Tumblr media
A sudden arousal of random symptoms we have never experienced before is a sign from your body to get your attention. More often than not, it is a trauma rooted in the body— the moment of paralysis and inability to take action that results from the "freeze response."
To heal, we need to allow the body to move and help to unfreeze, to escort emotions and thoughts into consciousness. Allow them to be processed and released. People may hesitate to work on trauma because they are afraid of the pain during the process. They may not know how it feels without the emotions they are carrying, and it is hard for them to imagine the other side because they have never been there. With the help of the right professional, the release of trauma can happen safely and in a supportive environment, bringing inner peace to a person's life and releasing the symptoms. 5 Path Hypnosis is a powerful process that helps to resolve stuckness, clear the body from suppressed feelings, and bring you back lightness, comfort, and strength.
