I'm rereading carry on (yes. again. no one will stop me.) and I'm at the part where simon talks about his encounter with humdrum with penny. He mentions the bleeding from the pores thing and I just realized that THAT was the way humdrum was looking to take simon's magic to fill himself up... maybe it's kind of obvious after knowing all the context but I never stopped to think about it like that. wow.
