"you're flawless!" "you're perfect!" or!!!!!! maybe you're a little flawed. maybe you've fucked up. maybe you're a human with scars and faults. a human who's wronged and who's been wronged. maybe you've messed up. but... maybe you're a human that deserves love and happiness and good things in life. a human that deserves to heal and to be loved because you're worth something just for being alive.

The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope’s flight harness is transferred from the mock-up structure to the spacecraft flight structure.
Your Body is Wired Like a NASA Space Telescope. Sort Of.
If our Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope were alive, its nervous system would be the intricate wiring, or “harness,” that helps different parts of the observatory communicate with one another. Just like the human body sends information through nerves to function, Roman will send commands through this special harness to help achieve its mission: answering longstanding questions about dark energy, dark matter, and exoplanets, among other mind-bending cosmic queries.
Roman’s harness weighs around 1,000 pounds and is made of about 32,000 wires and 900 connectors. If those parts were laid out end-to-end, they would be 45 miles long from start to finish. Coincidentally, the human body’s nerves would span the same distance if lined up. That’s far enough to reach nearly three-fourths of the way to space, twice as far as a marathon, or eight times taller than Mount Everest!
Tumblr media
An aerial view of the harness technicians working to secure Roman’s harness to the spacecraft flight structure.
Over a span of two years, 11 technicians spent time at the workbench and perched on ladders, cutting wire to length, carefully cleaning each component, and repeatedly connecting everything together.
Space is usually freezing cold, but spacecraft that are in direct sunlight can get incredibly hot. Roman’s harness went through the Space Environment Simulator – a massive thermal vacuum chamber – to expose the components to the temperatures they’ll experience in space. Technicians “baked” vapors out of the harness to make sure they won’t cause problems later in orbit.
Tumblr media
Technicians work to secure Roman’s harness to the interior of the spacecraft flight structure. They are standing in the portion of the spacecraft bus where the propellant tanks will be mounted.
The next step is for engineers to weave the harness through the flight structure in Goddard’s big clean room, a space almost perfectly free of dust and other particles. This process will be ongoing until most of the spacecraft components are assembled. The Roman Space Telescope is set to launch by May 2027.
Learn more about the exciting science this mission will investigate on X and Facebook.

i was also thinking about this! i just watched the episode where Vecna/Henry/One explains what the upside down was like when he first got there, and the camera pans to a demogorgon just kind of going about its own business and wandering around on hills, and it doesn’t give a shit about him.
I honestly think that, until Vecna/Henry/One tapped into the hivemind, the creatures of the upside down just kind of existed like a squirrel in the park might — you leave it alone, it’ll leave you alone. i mean, it was a whole separate dimension until he got there, what would be the point of having aggressive survival instincts?
this is something that's been in my head since dart was introduced and when i saw a clip of the demogorgon the russians had captured. there's definitely a possibility of a nature vs nurture situation.
like. think about it. they're all connected. it's a hivemind. one demogorgon dies in season 1 and they all know what happened. when it comes to humans, the only thing they know is pain and death, because that's what humans resort to when we encounter something we know nothing about. they're naturally distrustful of us and course they want to harm us before we can harm them. to them, we're at the top of the food chain.
but dustin raised dart from a baby. the only thing dart knows is care and affection. he killed mews because he had just grown again and was hungry. nougat alone wasn't cutting it anymore. i firmly believe that if dustin hadn't've backed him into a corner, dart would have been there to fight off the other demodogs at the junkyard.
the capability to be friendly and trusting is there but humans have tortured it out of them.

HAZBIN SIZE HEADCANONS
Tumblr media
ft Adam, Vox, Husk, Luci, Sir Pent. NSFW.
🐍SIR PENT.🐍
~ GIRTHY. Jesus Christ. Like 4 inches around.
~ Not too above average, only around 6.5 inches.
~ Yes, that means 8 inches around and 13 inches if you’re counting both of them.
~ Dark Black and fades to red from the base to the tip.
~ Because he’s cold-blooded, his cum & precum is super cold! Which was definitely a bit of a jumpscare the first time you two went at it.
~ uncut.
~  Clean shaven, not really shaven. Just bare.
🖥️VOX🖥️
~ You know what a headphone jack/phone connector looks like? Now imagine that but ten times bigger.
~ 7.5 inches, but more on the thinner side around 2.5 inches in girth.
~ Pointed tip to hit the best places for you.
~ Light blue rings, Light grey otherwise with a dark blue tip
~ His cum is definitely glow-in-the-dark. Sorry not sorry.
~ There’s no cut/uncut here.
~ Clean shaven, not really shaven. Just bare.
~ Can vibrate!
💢LUCI💢
~ Well, we all know where his height went.
~ 4 inches around, 8.5 inches long. yup.
~ Goes from pearly white to red at the tip.
~ His cum is most definitely golden, being a former angel and all.
~ uncut. I don’t even think there was such a thing as cut/uncut when he was created.
~ does it even matter what his cock looks like? Because all he wants to do is be your personal chair. Sit on his face and he’ll happily cum in his pants.
~ A pretty white bed of a pubes at the very base.
🕊️ADAM🕊️
~ Uncut. Don’t think this has to be said.
~ As he is formerly human, colouration just matches his skin tone, pale and slightly pink at the top.
~ Thick as fuck, like 5 inches around, more average in size, around 6 inches.
~ His cum is golden, being a supreme angel and all.
~ Pubes that match his hair colour shaven into a small ring around the base because he can’t flex enough that he’s an Angel.
~ Can cum a bit of an absurd amount. He’s where we all came from anyways, apparently.
~ Has a golden Jacob’s Ladder piercing from base to tip.
🍻HUSK🍻
~ Again with the girth. He’s around 3.5 inches in girth, but also 7 inches long.
~ Pubes? Nah, that’s just his fur. He’s not shaving that shit.
~ Muted pink all the way down but slightly redder at his tip.
~ Definitely got a silver Ampallang piercing at the tip on a drunken dare. Doesn’t regret it.
~ Circumsized. Got Circumsized in life and carries it with him for eternity in hell.
~ Besides his cock, his wings are extra sensitive. Will he admit it to anyone? No, then they could use it against him. But they’re extra sensitive, and he loves having them pruned by his lover.
(I’m not doing Alastor because he’s AroAce, so please don’t ask for that, and I just… ain’t doin Val. Thanks!)

Not Special
The refueling station was on a small moon in the back end of nowhere, close to nothing but a couple of wormhole junctions. Since it had a little convenience store and everything, it really gave off “7/11 next to a desert highway” vibes. Just, y’know, in space. The moon wasn’t big enough for proper gravity or air on its own, so someone had installed a gravity generator under the dusty red ground. And turned it up just a smidge too high, but I wasn’t going to complain.
I was going to buy pre-packaged alien snacks at the store while my coworkers handed the refueling. Mimi was calling the shots, tentacles waving and gravelly voice audible from here, while the Frillian twins handled the heavy lifting of connector hoses and Captain Sunlight was at the payment kiosk. The others were either staying onboard or already browsing the aisles.
I’d just picked up a pack of something colorful (doing an artful fumble-and-recovery because of the gravity) when a rowdy group of Armorlites trooped in. I didn’t pay them too much attention — just a bunch of macho dinosaurs with holstered blasters and bipedal swagger; totally normal here — but one of them said something that brought me up short.
“Hey look, another human,” said the cheerful voice. “Maybe you can get some tips on how not to be such a disappointment.” Raucous laughter followed.
I frowned in their direction and saw that they did have a human with them: a pale and unassuming guy just a bit shorter and stockier than me. He looked annoyed by the comment, but not surprised.
When he walked over to me, I asked, “What’s that about?” The Armorlites were already ignoring him.
The guy sighed. “They heard a lot of stories about humans before they hired me, and I don’t meet their expectations.”
“What kind of stories?”
“Humans doing daring things, like running for hours to get medicine to dying people, catching a diseased rat before it infected an entire space station, throwing fruit at charging fauna hard enough to make it leave…” He ticked things off on his fingers. “Exorcizing a ghost, and riding a hoversled like a skateboard fast enough to catch a bomb before it blew up. How am I supposed to compete with that?” He threw his hands in the air.
“Um,” I said, putting down the snack I was still holding. “Would it make it better or worse to know those were all the same person?”
“What?”
“The rat wasn’t actually diseased, the ghost was a howling dog, and I didn’t know the thing was explosive when I rushed to catch it,” I said. “And I wasn’t the only person throwing things at the fauna.”
“What?” he repeated, with a spread-arms gesture that smacked into the shelf. Rubbing his hand, he asked, “That was all you?”
“Yeah,” I admitted. “Unless there are other humans doing the same things, which is possible.”
He raked fingers through his hair, setting it at odd angles. “I can’t believe this. I’d tell them, but they’d just want to hire you instead.”
I rushed to assure him, “I’ve got a job already, and I don’t want to take yours.” I glanced over at the Armorlites, who were grabbing food and accessories. One clicked a flashlight on in another’s face, prompting curses from him and laughter from the others. That tracked from what I’d seen of Armorlite culture before. Toughness was important. Kindness, not so much. “What do you do for them?”
He sighed again. “Bookkeeping, officially. They needed somebody to handle the boring stuff like money and permits while they focus on hunting the biggest animals they can sell.”
“Gotcha. That sounds … exciting.”
“It’s not. It’s like going on a trip with my cousins again, except they’re even bigger and make fun of me for not having claws.”
“You’ve got other stuff going for you, though!” I said. “We just need to figure which of your differences they’ll respect most.”
“I’m all ears,” he said with a certain level of sarcasm. “Please tell me what about my fragile human physique will get me respect from the Mighty.”
Oh right, they did call themselves that. I’d almost forgotten. At least they were a straightforward species without a lot of mysterious depths.
“Well,” I said, thinking. “They like fighting. You’re more suited to stealth than they are, small enough to hide and do sneak attacks that they wouldn’t see coming. What if you introduced them to rubber band warfare, and sniped from hidden parts of the ship?”
“Nope,” he said. “That would just end with me cornered somewhere, and them showing off how even thin scales are tougher than my skin.”
“Good point. Oh! What kind of animals do they hunt? You said big ones, but do you know the specific names?” I got out my phone and brought up the database of known fauna that I’d talked Captain Sunlight into buying for me. As her own hired animal expert, it was really the kind of thing that I should have. My vet training on Earth only went so far.
“Uhhh, I think the last one was a treehorn,” he said. “Wait, they talked about going for Argoshan Dagger Birds next.”
“Right. Now what kind of noises do those make…” I typed quickly. Big creatures indeed, by the looks of it: Dagger Birds had prevented more than one colony from getting a foothold in the wilds of a nearby world, and were unlikely to stop being a threat anytime soon. I skimmed the rundown for the vocal files. “Here we go. Mating call.” Keeping the sound low enough for just us to hear, I played the croaking warble.
“Okay?” the guy said, confused.
“Can you imitate that?” I asked. “Give it a shot. Kinda like a frog. Woarrrk.”
Looking skeptical, he did. The expression on his face said he wasn’t impressed with his own efforts, but it sounded accurate enough to me.
“Great!” I said. “Give that a bit of practice, then you can go out with your crew and impress everybody by luring in some targets for them.”
“I could,” he said thoughtfully. “I usually stay on the ship while they’re hunting, but it might be worth a try. Can I have a copy of that sound for practice?”
He got out his own phone and I played it again so he could record it. The Armorlites were dumping things onto the front counter, ready to pay and leave. I caught sight of bright packaging that I recognized, and I had another idea.
“Thanks,” the guy said. “This might actually help. What was your name?”
“Robin Bennett,” I said with a belated handshake.
“Oscar Tennyson,” he replied. “Thanks for your help. Looks like I should grab my stuff and get going.”
“Before you go. See those tall cans with the purple labels?” I pointed at something the Armorlites were buying.
“Yeah?”
“Have you ever tried that?”
“No! They get wasted on it; I’ve steered far clear.”
I grinned with all my teeth. “That’s not alcohol. That’s caffeine.”
“What?”
“Humans can process caffeine better than most species on our own planet, and just about everybody in space. It’s a poison to most. It gets them super drunk, but for you—” I pointed at him with glee. “For you, it’s just a bit of energy. Pick your moment, then walk in casually while they’re getting wasted, and slam one down. See what happens.”
He was smiling now. “You’re sure? It’s really just caffeine? How much?”
“I checked into it before. One of those huge cans is like a watered-down coffee. These guys are absolute lightweights, and they don’t even know.”
He grinned to split his face. “That is the best news.”
One of them called for him to hurry up, and he bid me a quick goodbye before scampering off. I saw him grab food cubes, water, and a six-pack of caffeine, which he bundled onto the counter as the Armorlites headed out the door.
“Be right there! Just getting some stuff!”
They didn’t look, simply telling him not to waste any time. He smiled his way through the purchase.
Peeking over the shelves, I smiled too. Then I went back to my own purchases, with thoughts of getting an energy drink or two in his honor.

These started as backstory tidbits for the main character from this book, and turned into a sprawling adventure series in their own right. The sequel book will feature a return of some familiar faces. And Patreon is coming soon — even the free tier will be a handy way to keep up with the ongoing shenanigans of this particular human in space.

Your avatar body laid thrown to the side, Quaritch’s machine stomping over to you and your real body struggled to breathe inside the connector. Your neurons disconnected, eye jolting open inside then shuttle before you clamped your eyes shut again to rebond with your Avatar. You struggled to put up a fight, while Miles easily picked you up by your long braid, your feet kicking while his knife was against your throat in an instant.
Neteyam wasn’t having it, angrily hopping over the enormous log, bow and arrow in hand. You scowled at Miles, slipping in and out of the bond with your Avatar. Neteyams arrow flew past you, straight into Miles’ chest. You were dropped to the ground, triggering the final disconnect right as Neteyam fired another arrow into Miles’ abdomen. He pounced over to you, protectively squaring over you and hissing aggressively at the now dying Colonel.
Your human body slammed the shuttle cap open, gasping and heaving for oxygen. You fell out of the shuttle, feeling the immense panic rise in your chest as your lungs felt like they withered inside of you. Hoisting yourself up, you desperately tried to reach for the oxygen mask, fingers just barely wrapping around the straps.
Neteyam looked down at your Avatar, shaking you eagerly, whining out your name when he realized you weren’t getting up. The 7 foot tall boy put two and two together. You were dying. His eyes immediately darted to the port that Quaritch had smashed in.
You collapsed to the floor again, taking desperate repetitive breathes and basically drowning yourself with everything but the proper amount of oxygen. Vision going blurry, you passed out and felt the numbness travel through your body. Neteyams hand slapped against the glass, before he turned to his left and jumped in through the bashed window. Squat jumping over to you, he cradled your limp body in his lap and whimpered your name over and over again. Holding your small body in his arms, he reached for the oxygen mask, pressing it against your face in hope of you taking another breath. His golden eyes teared up, running his fingers through your hair while he waited for any sign.
Feeling the wave of oxygen enter your body, you coughed, taking a deep breathe and you cleared out the mask to filter out unwanted chemicals that nearly killed you. You saw Neteyam in his giant form. He looked so different when you saw him, larger and intimidatingly handsome. You two locked eyes, neither wanting to break the gaze first. Reaching and hand to his face, he leaned into it, a tear running down his face. He looked so handsome, angelic even. Neteyam thought the same of you, how small you were compared to him, your body feeling light in his grasp. You looked beautiful, admiring each detail of your face that wasn’t noticeable in your avatar form.
“I see you..” You said first, letting your hand slip down from his face to his chest. He followed your smaller hand, pressing it into his chest further.
“I see you.” Neteyam replied with a slight whimper heard in his accented voice.

You run away from Optimus, but he catches up with you
Pairing: yandere shattered glass Optimus Prime x reader
/SYSTEM RUN. CRITICAL ENGINE TEMPERATURE. DANGER OF EXPLOSION/
Your fingers flew across the keyboard. Sirens were blaring all around, and all sorts of warnings were blaring.
/DAMAGE TO OUTER HULL. DANGER OF EXPLOSIVE DEPRESSURIZATION.
“Shit!” you pounded your fist on the dashboard. It didn't feel any better: now her hand was sore. “Distress signal, where is it…?”
/DISCONNECTED. FATAL ANTENNA FAILURE.
You tried to concentrate on staying on course: the space shuttle was tossing sideways time after time, and the still-working radars ahead were showing asteroids. Lots of them. A hell of a lot.
The ship shook again. You'd think it was an explosion in one of the furthest compartments. Or?
“My Spark,” the loudspeaker distorted Prime's voice, ”and how long are you going to run from me?”
You were silent. The microphone was no longer working.
“Oh… I see. Did Ark's aimed shot do much damage to your ship? I'm sorry.”
/ COLLISION HAZARD! PULL UP!
The ship shook again, the darkness of space ahead blending with the maroon color of the alarm.
“You know, I want to give you one last chance to escape. You can steer the ship into an asteroid. Just the way you like it.”
You didn't even have to do it on purpose: the helm was jammed. The shuttle finally lost control, and a moment later it collided tangentially with the asteroid. You could hear multiple explosions clearly now, and a moment later the fireball reached your skin. The screaming subsided at once. The alarms went silent.
The piece of mangled meat lying on the platform hardly resembled a human being. But there was no fooling Prime: of course it was you.
The mangled body was a stump - more like a wreck - of arms and legs; skin blackened by fire; a broken face, with a slanted nose and missing lower lip.
Optimus lowered himself onto the platform.
“My Spark,” the scarlet optics lit up a little brighter, ”I hear you've stopped screaming. Ratchet injected you with medication after all?”
A quiet wheeze was the mech's answer.
“Fine,” Optimus touched the severed leg, pulling at the flap of flesh. It broke off with a distinctive cracking sound, “The consequences of a crash in space are always unpredictable. Your ship is beyond repair, alas. But your body is. What do you think?”
Prime's gaze lingered on your groin.
“I thought you'd stay that way for the time being. Your condition needs to be stabilized for cyberforming. You realize that. It's a matter of your survival.”
The crotch armor disappeared into the grooves, releasing the connector with a quiet click.
“But I have waited a long time. Your escape has made me hold back too long.”

Day 3
Tumblr media
______________
The human stares at Rodimus for a moment with a raised eyebrow looking at the boxes of equipment. "So what exactly is all of this?" They ask looking over the different components in them. Rodimus scratches his helm sheepishly. "Well, uh, you know my size can be, heh, problematic when it comes to interfacing with you. Don't want to accidentally hurt you due to the size"
He offers a lopsided grin. "So Perceptor and I have been tinkering. These doodads should decrease my, um, girth and increase sensitivity without compromising structure or function, if his calculations hold up."
Rodimus clutches a box hopefully. "I care for you and I know how much you like what we have going on but i want you to be able to have more" His field radiates shy affection.
"Your... downgrading, for me?" They nearly whisper while looking over the three boxes. There were more than one spike mod in the boxes and it made them wonder just how long Rodimus had been planning this.
Rodimus rubs the back of his helm sheepishly. "Well, yeah. This is important to me too, you know?" He gestures to the boxes. "Perceptor and I have been working on different prototypes for a while now. Wanna make sure we get it just right, so they are interchangeable."
Chuckling softly, Rodimus adds, "We may have gone a little overboard with the sampling options." Taking his lover's hands in his gently, Rodimus meets their gaze. "I love you. Your happiness and safety with me means everything to me. If modifying myself helps ensure that, it's a small price."
Squeezing softly, he smiles. "So what d'you say we try 'em out, see which fits and what you like?" He's hoping he hadn't scared them with this information, but he did truly love them and wanted to give them the best he could.
It makes them laugh. "I'd love to. Do all of the pieces interchange?" They inquire while pulling one of the spike mods out looking it over. This one had bright pink lights up the underside but was a bit too large in their hands larger than their arm. Rodimus perks up at the sound of their laughter, fia warm smile falling onto his face. "Sure do!" he replies. "Perce made 'em with modularity in mind."
Leaning in, he points out how the piece in their servos connects. "That one plugs into my panel port. Then the shaft and tip snap together for a secure fit, each piece will fit to the others to integrate." Rodimus smiles before continuing "Pink light show's a bit flashy for me though. what'd you think of the sleek navy or copper ones?" Ever keen to please, he holds them up for his loger to look at.
In truth they never thought they would be sitting there with Rodimus looking at essentially Strap-ons. " I do like the top part of the silver one there, the rest of it is just a little too thick. Might work nicely with the shaft of the Orange one which I do like the lights on and it doesn't look as long as my forearm" they laugh while pointing over to the spike as Rodimus picks it up. The tip wasn't as wide as some of the others. "How do you pull them apart and put them together? Can you show me?"
Rodimus chuckles, field pulsing with affection as he examines the proposed frankenspike. "Good eye! I think you're right - silver tip and orange shaft could be a winner." He deftly twists the pieces apart to demonstrate. "The connector ports are threaded, see? Just twist counter-clockwise to separate, then clockwise to join another piece securely."
Reassembling the hybrid mod, Rodimus presents it proudly. "Well? What do you think - looks like it'll hit all the right nodes but still leave your ports feeling snug?" They laugh at his wording of it but in truth they were enjoying every moment of this.
"Never thought I'd be saying that this looks so pretty. Do they connect up with your bio-lights and pulse the same colour? And how exactly do you attach it to yourself?" As much as they were loving the fact that they and Rodimus would be able to be intimate they are so curious over how it all works.
Rodimus grins, field alight. "Never think I'd be so pleased by a compliment on my crotch accessory collection!" It makes them both burst into laughter wheezing. " but Yea, the light circuits sync right up with my biolights so it'll pulse and change colours"
Rodimus releases his interface panel which at the moment didn't have an attachment, he's rather swift with reattaching the chosen mod in its place. pressurises his lines, watching struts and panels adjust flawlessly around the new appendage. "Seamless integration. The connection anchors it securely while also transferring sensory feedback in real time." Rodimus smiles shyly. "Wanna touch it?." He teases revving his engine.
"Ready for a test drive when you are, sweetspark. I'll go slow and you tell me what you think. Your feelings are my top priority here.” He excitedly remarks. "Can we keep the other pieces too, I think this would be something fun to try and test other pieces over time." Rodimus lights up at their question, excitement filling him. "A collection? I like the way you think!"
"Now then, shall we?" He radiates eager anticipation, "I'm primed and ready to make you sing, sweetspark. Just give me the word." He slowly strokes the smaller mod as the sensation jolts through him.
"Eager are we" they tease, It was strange seeing the new one when they were so used to Rodimus' original Spike but in truth it suited him well. "Sure thing hot shot. I want a show" they giggle sitting back eager to watch.
Carefully he braces himself before encircling the new modification digit rubbing across the tip. Slow, steady pumps elicit delightful shivers up his struts as sensory feedback loops. The lights along the spike light up in the deep orange colour and pulse with each stroke.
A loud moan falls from his vocalizer. His engine purrs louder, Optics half-shuttering, Rodimus meets their gaze with a loving smirk. "Like what you see? gorgeous - just say the word and I'm yours all night."
They shake their heads in amusement. "I want to watch you work that spike Roddy, I like watching you come undone with your servo, dial up the sensitivity" they instruct. Eager to just watch the mech touch himself.
Rodimus chuckles. "As you wish." He begins stroking it much quicker, the sound of his joints popping and grinding join the mix of noises he makes.  "How's it feel?" Rodimus vented softly, digits exploring the synthetic spike's sensory net with increasing awe, he had never had one which felt like this and it was making his joints weak from how quickly it had over charged his system, hot air blasting through his fans.
"Incredible... it feels so sensitive." Another moan slips from him sounding more like a whimpered whine of bliss. He gazed at his partner in a haze of affection. "Primus i cant wait to see how you feel clenched around my spike, bet you'll be so warm and soft. Might just be overloaded thinking about it."
"You going to overload, thought you had better stamina roddy" They tease watching the way his plating shutters as he quickened his pace. Rodimus whimpers out while his voice goes rather static. "Hey, cut me some slack - this new array packs way more sensation than the old one. Gonna take some getting used to!"
He overloads into his servo rather quickly. Their eyes focus on the fluid that runs down his servo, it wasn't the light pink one they were used to seeing come from him. “ Did you also change your fluids?” they hum moving closer to brush their hand against his spike. It makes Rodimus jolt as he loudly moans. “Frag!” he calls out platting, shuttering and overheating as he tries to come down from the overwhelming sensation.
“mmmm, yea.. wanted something a little more body safe for you” he admits,it earns him a kiss from them.

"Murder is Werewolves" - Batman
I don't got the SPOONS to do this thought train justice, I have seriously been trying to write this thing for MONTHS so just, idk, have this half baked skeletal outline of the essay I guess:
I don't believe that Batman's no-kill rule is primarily about rehabilitation or second chances.
His refusal to believe that Cassandra could have killed someone when she was eight years old because "how could a killer understand my commitment not to kill" is absolute fucking MOON LOGIC from a rehabilitationist standpoint. No jury on the planet would think for even a second that she could reasonably be held accountable for her actions in that situation! Her past cannot condemn her to being incapable of valuing human life under a rehabilitation centering framework. However, Batman's reasoning makes perfect sense if he believes that killing is a spiritually/morally corrupting act which permanently and fundamentally changes a person, and that corruption can never be fully undone.
Dick Grayson killing the Joker is treated both narratively and by Batman as an unequivocally WIN for the Joker. The Joker won by turning Nightwing into a killer. Note that this is during a comic in which the Joker transforming people was a major theme! Batman didn't revive the Joker because the Joker deserved to live; he revived the Joker to lift the burden on Dick.
His appeal to Stephanie when she tried to kill her dad is that she shouldn't ruin her own life. He gives no defense of Cluemaster's actual life. Granted this is a rhetorical strategy moment and should be taken with a generous pinch of salt, but it fits in the pattern.
When Jason becomes a willful killer, he essentially disowns him, never treats him with full trust ever again, and... Well, we can stop here for Bruce's sake. Bottom line is that his actions towards Jason do not lead me to believe that he thinks Jason can become a better person without having his autonomy taken from him, either partially or fully.
The Joker is, for better or worse, the ultimate symbol and vessel of pure, irredeemable evil in DC comics now. He hasn't been just another crook in a long time. He will never get better, he will only get worse. If you take it to be true that the Joker will not or can not rehabilitate, then there's no rehabilitationist argument against killing him.
Batman does not seem to consider it a possibly that he'll rehabilitate. Batman at several points seems to think that the Joker dying in a manner no one could have prevented would be good. Yet Batman fully believes that if he killed the Joker, he himself would become irredeemable.
Batman's own form of justice (putting people into the hospital and then prison) is fucking brutal and clearly not rehabilitative. He disrespects the most basic human rights of all criminals on a regular basis. It is genuinely really, really weird from a rehabilitationist standpoint that his only uncrossable line is killing... But it makes perfect sense if he cares more about not corrupting himself with the act of killing than the actual ethical results of any individual decision to kill or not kill.
In the real world cops are all bastards because they are too violent to criminals, even when that violence doesn't lead to death. Prison is a wildly evil thing to do to another human being, and you don't use it to steal away massive portions of a person's life if your goal is to rehabilitate them. In the comic world, Batman is said to be necessary because the corrupt cops are too nice to criminals and keep letting them out of jail. I don't know how to write a connector sentence there so like I hope you can see why this bothers me so damn much! That's just not forgiveness vibes there Batman!!
I want to make special note here of the transformative aspect. You don't simply commit a single act when you kill, no, you become a killer, like you might become a werewolf.
The narrative supports this a lot!
Why did Supes go evil during Injustice? He killed the Joker. Why did Bruce become the Batman Who Laughs? Bruce killed the Joker. Why was Jason Todd close to becoming a new Joker during Three Jokers? Because he killed people, to include the Joker.
Even if these notions of redemption being impossible aren't the whole of his reasoning (people never have only one reason for doing what they do) it is a distinct through-line pattern in his actions and reasoning, and it is directly at odds with notions of rehabilitation, redemption, and second chances.
So why does he give so many killers second chances?
Firstly because this doesn't apply to all versions of Batman. Some writers explicitly incorporate rehabilitation and forgiveness into his actions. You will be able to provide me with examples of this other through-line pattern if you go looking for them. The nature of comics is to be inconsistent.
Secondly the existence of that other pattern does not negate the existence of this one. People and characters are complex, and perfectly capable of holding two patterns of belief within themselves, even when they conflict to this degree. You can absolutely synthesize these two ideas into a single messy Batman philosophical vibescape.
Finally and most importantly to this essay: he has mercy on killers the same way that werewolf hunters sometimes have mercy on someone who is clearly struggling against their monsterous nature, especially if they were turned in exceptional circumstances or against their will. They understand that they are sick, damned beasts, cursed to always be fighting against themselves and the evil they harbor within. It is vitally kind to help them fight themselves by curtailing their autonomy in helpful ways and providing them with chances to do some good to make up for their eternal moral deficiency.
I think in many comics Batman views killers as lost souls. Battered and tormented monsters who must be pitied and given mercy wherever possible. (The connections to mental health, addiction, and rampant, horrifying ableism towards people struggling with both is unavoidable, but addressing it is sadly outside of the scope of this essay.)
Above all, the greatest care possible must be taken to never, ever let yourself become one of them, because once you have transformed the beast will forever be within you growing stronger.
To Batman, it is the most noble burden, the highest mercy, the most important commandment: Thou shalt suffer the monsters to live.

“As requested in the contract, the clones are 80% above the average human baseline, though of course they are merely humanoid,” Nala Se explains and Depa blinks very slowly at her to keep her face passive. “Per design they are produced, trained, and outfitted to equal a Jedi’s battle prowess.”
There’s an earthquake in Depa’s mind. So few words to sum up the horror of a situation they’ve found themselves in and it’s been in the making for a decade at the least.
They walk along training rooms, sim halls, module centers. The same face with lips pursed in concentration as young adults, teenagers, little kids to toddlers.
“The interface is embedded at humanoid level sixteen years standard. Testing has shown while implementing suit training earlier results in higher performance, the human body regrettably rejects the interface connector in the prepubescent stage.”
“Rejects?” Depa asks, voice hollow which gut churningly serves her well in sounding cold and uncaring.
Nala Se pauses, long fingers tapping on the data pad she’s holding. “Rejection of the procedure prompts a terminal response at 60%,” she admits and hurries on in a reassuring manner, “we have solved this problem timely and cost efficient. No clone from the testing sites will be deployed.”
Depa’s stomach feels sick.
They walk to another hall, glass walls baring all down to the abject terror in Depa’s eyes.
“The suit itself is connected to the clone. They are interchangeable of course.” Of course. “We have used the newest technology in translating brain waves to action. The suit is to enhance their above average abilities. Comm systems have been embedded into the suit technology.”
Nala Se proudly waves a hand at 6 clones in suits working through a battle sim. “We have been inspired by your so-called battle meditation,” which makes Depa jerk in her step, “they can communicate by thinking on the same frequency. Orders can be directly deployed into their brains without voice prompt.”
Depa reaches out. Her mind becoming one with the Force, with her surroundings, and she’s overwhelmed by the emotions swarming her as Nala Se continues.
“We have failsafes installed of course. Clone technology is far superior to droids in this regard as well. No order can be given by unauthorized personnel.”

Now how does one know if an ask has been eaten? but I guess nevermind? I also did a few revision so I'm posting it here is stead.
So, this is a bit of my spin on @keferon #tf mecha universe. Basically an au of Transformers francise where some of the characters are human who pilot robot but some are still Cybertronian and how they interact.
First Aid is a medic turned pilot who pilot a mech haunted by Vortex.
I think we haven't explore a lot about First Aid being a freak. So Ima take some time to do just that. This should go back to before First Aid got used to connecting to Vortex.
Also an excuse to write some gore. I totally wasn't going for that but I guess I needed it.
Also probaly lots of grammar errors incoming.
----------------
It was in biology class when he first got to dissect an animal at school. His friends had looked at him weird because he was a little too enthusiastic about it. Most kids were curious alright, but he already knew these stuff. He read in the books and was ecstatic to see the real thing, to cut the real thing apart.
After that He learned to keep it down. To hide the sparkle in his eyes even as he entered medical school. People don't cut things open for fun. Even if he did it for study, he shouldn't be having fun doing it.
---
It started with a soft mumble.
Felix curled into a ball on the pilot seat, knees hugged tight to his chest. Restraint in place but not connected to the neural link, not touching the controls. Watching intently as Vortex sliced through monsters' limbs.
It was one of his early mission as a pilot. Hot Rod was sent out with him. The red mech fighting several hundred meters to his right. The Quintesson had sent monsters with long, jointed legs and tentacle. They looked like someone cross bred a spider crab with an octopus with a hundred arms. Except they are the size of a big building. A bunch of them together look like mountains were moving to meet them.
Vortex's twin blades cut through tentacle, splashing green blood everywhere. Sometimes he wondered if Vortex got his callsign because of this move, twirled the two blades around himself, cutting everything in his path like a tornado.
The blade hit a hard plating on one of the legs. He had to pull back before going for another tentacle instead. Or hacked at the leg until it came off. It wasn't a big trouble for Vortex, but then he heard a small voice from inside his cockpit like a whisper.
"Hit the joint"
"Under there"
"That seam there"
First Aid was still curled up in a little ball on the pilot seat, watching. Something sparkle in those blue eyes behind his visor. Mouth mumbling occasionally, telling body parts or directions.
At first Vortex ignore the words. But when he started looking for the parts First Aid says and hit them, he realized it was more effective. It's like a weak spot had been pointed out.
Amidst the carnages, text appeared on the screen, overlaying the visuals.
[Stop backseating and connect to me]
"Huh..?" Felix asked, looking around as if he could see the ghost talking to him.
[Speaking is slow. Connect to me now or I feed you to big ugly over there]
Not wanting to test Vortex's patient, First Aid reached for the neural link with trembling hands and snap it to the connector on the back of his head.
He felt like he was falling, the next second he was standing outside, face to face with the monster. A threat. A living thing waiting to be diced up. His body made of metal, his sight are not just sight but sensors and infrared and targeting module.
Killed or be kill.
His mother dragging him along as they ran for the shelter.
Scalpel making precision cut on human flesh.
Kill it before it kill you.
His hands deep in someone's torso, Pharma lecturing through the process.
Blade cutting into flesh. His hand gripping the control, forcing it to cut through the bone.
Mangled body of another pilot in the seat he had to pry off.
Tentacle with barbed tip stabbing into the cockpit, into his face.
An alien's organ kept in quarantine.
Onslaught yelling at him.
Blood in his eyes.
Pain flaring through his body
The cockpit shook violently. The monster slammed into him.
'Concentrate'
The impact pulled First Aid back to the present. Vortex's voice echoed in his head. Then he realized he was seeing memories, both his own and Vortex's.
Slowing his breath, he concentrated on the sight before him. The crabtopus monster is still there, tentacle snaking onto his -Vortex's- midsection.
He looked at the tentacle, not where it coiled, but where it came out of the body. His blade stabbed at the base of it, twisted, sliced and the tentacle came free, falling slacked from Vortex.
'You aren't half bad for a medic'
Vortex's voice in his head. He almost panic again before remembering that he was connected to Vortex and not dead. He was still capable of thoughts.
And so First Aid looked on.
The giant monster was before him, preparing to strike again. They didn't just see the enemy. But analyzing it at the same time, even as they dodged the attack and raised blades to cut with renewed surgical precision.
He was seven years old when he cried his eyes out after taking a beetle apart and realized he couldn't put them back together alive. He never wanted anything to be hurt or die.
He just wanted to know how they works. What the inside were like. He wanted to open them up. If he know how they works, surely he would know how to save them, right?
Or know how to kill them better.
The blade penetrated the seams under hard shelled armor, then pried off the shell, revealing tender flesh underneath. The monster screamed, lashing at them with tentacles. They ignored the attack, instead, Vortex stabbed at the flesh repeatedly until the monster went still.
First Aid knowledge informed Vortex's action at the speed of thought. There was no need to think. They combined mind knew how to take this thing apart effectively.
Vortex was bleeding into him. First Aid was lost in a whirlwind of violence. They tore one monster to pieces and move on, hacked the limbs off the other before stabbing it through one of the joint, deep enough that the mech's arm went inside the body and tore out god knows what from the hole.
All the ones in front of them were gone. They turned, there was another monster, half of it on fire, trying to mow down the red mech. They grabbed it, peeled it from Hot Rod's mech and slammed it to the ground. Hot Rod backed away, swaying a little on his feet.
The fire slowly died down leaving a half cooked monster, screeching, writhing fruitlessly while being pinned to the ground with Vortex's blade.
'Where's the heart?'
'I think...here...'
'Haha! look at that, you're right!'
'So that's what it looks like....'
It was still squirming. Vortex step on the head and it cracked open, green liquid splattered out.
Insects are insects. No matter the size.
You can take them apart and never have to feel guilty ever again.
+++++
"---ome in. First Aid come in. This is Hot Rod. Can you hear me?"
'why don't you answer him before I hit that guy too. He's been calling for a while' Vortex speak in his head and he came back to himself.
"oh..."
First Aid took a while to realized Hot Rod was radioing him from his mech. The fire had died down, it seems that the other mech isn't in too bad a condition.
"Hot Rod. This.....This is First Aid. I can hear you"
"How's your condition?"
"I'm...I'm alright. Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm good. You stole my last kill."
"I...um...sorry...."
"Nah. Also, don't forget to put that down before return to base"
First Aid looked down and saw that the monster's heart was still skewered on Vortex's blade.
'Why don't we keep it as trophy'
"Where am I gonna keep it? It's the size of a fridge"
"Pardon?" Hot Rod asked. First Aid was still on the radio.
"Sorry I was talking to my self. I....I will return in a bit. First Aid out'
With the radio off, First Aid leaned back and let out a long breath.
He just realized he was sweating. His hands squeezed the control so hard that they were trembling. When he could let go, his palm sting.
Vortex put the heart down, using the other blade to nudge it off, then cleaved it in half while First Aid watched.
'You like that, hm?'
"I......well....yeah" he was going to deny it. But Vortex probably saw everything already. "I just want to know, okay?"
'Sure, First Aid, sure' He can just hear the grin in Vortex's voice inside his head. He could only shake his head at it.
On the way back, First Aid feel for the link on the back of his neck and disconnect.
[What. Leaving already?]
"...I...just need some time. That whole thing just now was...."
[That whole thing just now was good. We make such a good team]
"How was that good... My head is still spinning. And how would I know you won't melt my brain"
[Your brain is too freaky to melt. I like it a lot.]
"What do you even mean by that"
But First Aid heard a rattling sound echoing from somewhere in the mech like a deep rasping laughter.
He couldn't sleep that night.
------
Once the battlefield has gone quiet, the mechs returned and parameters secured, the science team and rescue squads are dispatched.
They passed the mechs on the way back. Vortex lagging far behind the others, covered in green blood, blades still slicked with what ever was inside the alien guts. Every step shaking the earth beneath.
"Don't you think this is creepy?"
"What?"
"The aliens... they are in pieces.....".
"Well, think on the bright side. Sample extraction is really easy now. They even cut the organs out for us." That would be true. Except for the ones that was turned into mince meat.
"That doesn't make this any less creepy"
"I heard the pilot used to be a medic. Maybe that's why he cut them like this"
"Why did a medic decided to pilot that thing?"
"Beats me. Some people were saying Vortex chose him"
"Poor guy"
--------
Also I want First Aid to interact with other pilots. Hod Rod seems fitting and he hasn't show up a lot so here he is.

Can I request a homelander x single mother reader
Hl meets struggling reader with her newborn child. At first he watches her taking pleasure in how pathetic she is but eventually falls I love with her 🙏
So unfortunately one of my things with being a trans man is it’s very very hard for me to be able to envision this perspective and go too in depth with it, because it does end up inducing some weird bubblings of dysphoria (the mother role, not the having a kid thing), but I’m good to go surface level and just sort of headcanon it out if it’s all the same to you anon <3
He actually had no intention of fixating on you whatsoever. Not only were you normal– you were boring.  Just some human mud living your human life.  Not his speed at all.  At least, that’s what he kept telling himself.
See, he could smell it.  He practically salivated the second he got a whiff of your body producing milk.  You were just some desk jockey finally returning after maternity leave, but you caught his eye in mere seconds.
Then he started really paying attention.  Watching through the walls, following you home, watching you pick up that sniveling beast that you fawned over so dearly no matter how loudly it screeched in the middle of the night.  How you didn’t leave the thing for the wolves after the first explosive diaper was beyond him, but the soft, nurturing, kind side of you ensures the wee thing is put back together and content before even once worrying for yourself.
After a while, he can really see it in your eyes.  You’re exhausted.  Barely making ends meet, barely affording the babysitter, barely keeping from keeling over.
He smirks when you miss your stop on the train.  You don’t know he’s sat on the connector between cars, mere feet away, but you don’t have to know that.  You don’t have to know anything like that.  You just need to sit pretty and let him watch.
Just like you really don’t need to worry when you’re cornered in an alley by some filth reeking of alcohol.  You don’t need to fret, because he’s there in a heartbeat, lasering that worthless fuck in two and sweeping you into his safe, strong arms.
Your tears leak against his chest and he swears to hell and back he’ll never allow the costume department to wash away your scent.  He brings you to a roof, makes small talk while you calm down.
“Say, you work at Vought, don’t you? I think I’ve seen you around.”
He thinks he’s so smooth about it.  Like it’d be a mystery the next day when you’ve got a whopping promotion to be his new assistant, complete with a full benefits package including childcare and a salary that nearly has you falling to your knees.
The flowers on your desk are only the start…
I do also want to apologize that my requests have taken so long to start. I had an absolutely insane workload for school over the last 12 weeks, but thankfully I've got a little break now. That said, my requests are open once again <3

ALL ABOUT GEMINI RISING
Ah, we've made it to the witty chatterboxes of the zodiac, our lovely Gemini Risings! Let's go over the traits and energies of this dynamic, Mercury-ruled placement.
Tumblr media
As a reminder, our ascendant is a very personal point in the chart. It is what we see when we gaze out into the horizon. What shall we claim? How do we see the world? And how does the rest of the world see us? In ways, I do believe our ascendant is more revealing than the sun sign. It tells the story of our soul's...why we are here and what we are meant to learn.
We begin with the chart ruler, Mercury. How does Mercury behave in the mutable, airy sign of Gemini? Especially when geared towards one's direction in life?
Mercury is a special planet, having no gender and being one of the fastest moving planets in astrology. In mythology Mercury is associated with tricksters, messengers, writers, and magicians. Mercury is here and there, playing both sides and aligning with motivations not entirely rooted in blacks and whites. Mercury is one to see the grays and to ask "why?". To seek out information and to feed their mind.
Tumblr media
You are much like Mercury, Gemini Rising. What you wish to pursue is knowledge itself! You have curious souls that seek to know and explore everything. Information is valuable to you and you know how to get it and what questions to ask. Your mind is hungry and always searching for stimulation.
You are also a connector. Gemini, like the other air signs (and Virgo), are represented by humans, not animals. This speaks to your purpose Gemini which is to connect. You have an ability to understand the intricacies of a situation, of a people, of a culture, and make the necessary connections. If Aries pioneered the land and Taurus settled it, Gemini finds the trade routes and explores other parts of the land and the surrounding peoples.
These risings are often seen as scattered, talkative, and witty. They are blessed with the gift of gab and often charm those that they talk to with their youthful disposition and excitable mannerisms. Mercury makes these sensitive to stimuli and you can often spot a Gemini Rising by their plethora of expressions! You may seem all over the place to some, Gemini, but your mind is constantly assembling and processing and searching. It makes sense!
Appearance-wise, Mercury gives one a child-like or elfin appearance. I've seen these ascendants have bright eyes, a dazzling smile, and maybe even a high-pitched voice. They may also be wiry, with large foreheads and beautiful hands. Perhaps your face is adorned with glasses to give you your mercurial edge?
I believe it is you, Gemini who becomes the mirror for others. You are impressionable, taking on the characteristics of everyone you meet; their speech, their mannerisms, their thoughts even. You take what you need and leave the rest. You are changeable and always open to a conversation or to a new idea. It's this quality that makes you the perfect vessel for your soul's true desire; to reach large audiences and spread your information with the world!
Tumblr media
I think with the Virgo 4th house, Gemini often had to teach themselves a lot. Information played a huge role in the household, either in proving oneself as knowledgeable or avoiding criticism from others. Perhaps the Gemini had siblings to care for, or parents who weren't really around. Or maybe there were overbearing guardians who left a sense of helplessness in the Gemini, so they compensate with information.
There may have been no room in your home environment for emotions, Gemini, and so you over-think everything. Your attention to detail is innate, and you can study any topic thoroughly and deeply (Scorpio 6th House), but you are, in ways, avoidant of your own emotional experience. In fact, all your water houses are in Earth, Gemini! This is also likely a sign that your ability to persist and stay strong, to persevere and commit, is a bit unconscious to you. There is some wound of authority here with that Capricorn 8th house, and perhaps your power lies in discipline. In applying yourself time and time again to master whatever it is that you wish to give to the world.
There are beautiful things to be shared from your mind Gemini with this Pisces 10th House. You want to be seen in your multi-faceted-ness with all of your creative and awesome gifts. You want to be acknowledged and appreciated, not used or taken advantage of. Others may see you in a Piscean way when you take the stage, Gemini. You may have many different things going on at once, or you become someone who can reach a lot of different people. You may change careers a lot! Some famous Gemini Risings include Gordon Ramsey (restaurants feat. world cuisine is very Piscean), Drew Barrymore (isn't she the sweetest?), and Mindy Kaling (so many different projects!)
Tumblr media
Lastly, the Taurus 12th house speaks to an inner beauty and artistry within you Gemini. Truly you come from the Earth, with a purity in you that seeks to understand everything in this earthly plane. No stone shall be left unturned! You have left behind a more solid approach to something more airy and exciting. There is so much for you to learn Gemini! But do not forget to rest! Do not forget you come from the Earth and you shall return to the Earth. Take care of your body, eat good food, cover yourself in oils and balms, and appreciate the body you have been given. Your mind is beautiful, but so is the rest of you, Gemini! Adorn it.
Your 7th House is ruled by Sagittarius, indicating you need partnerships that allow you to step outside of your comfort zone and explore your physical reality. You may stay glued to your screens or to your books or to your own mind when you truly do yearn to see and experience and live. Sagittarius will teach you this Gemini, that there is much to be learned and wisdom to be gained from LIVING. You want someone who can teach you about the world and brings you depth and perspective.
You will learn so much through your experiences Gemini and you must acknowledge the darkness within your own heart. That Capricorn 8th house may urge you to close it forever. Fear and paranoia may surround you in matters of merging, despite your desire to connect everything. Dive fearlessly into your own abyss, for this is the power of Capricorn! The strength to persevere and overcome!
That's all for the Gemini Risings for this week. Next week we'll dig into the Cancer Ascendant and discover more about these lovely Moon-ruled folk.
