7 tips in getting closer to Allah SWT
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
read the Qur'an everyday reading the word of Allah and understanding what you are reading will make you feel close to Him as you know that this is not a Book that anyone has just written - it has come directly from Allah SWT. subhanallah. reading and understanding what He says will make you want to practise what the Qur'an says and, in turn, be closer to Him.
be around people who remember Allah human beings have great influence on each other so it is important to have righteous people around you. their relationship with Allah SWT will inspire you to build and improve yours.
understand what you recite in salah knowing what you are reciting will help you understand how many blessings you are gaining with just a single prayer. take time to learn the translation (if you do not speak/understand arabic) of what you are reciting and why.
learn Allah's 99 names and attributes 'And to Allah alone belong all perfect attributes; so call on Him by these' (7:181) Allah likes it when we call Him by his names and it is important to recognise and understand Him. think of Him as your friend: when you get to know someone better, you get closer to them. it is the same thing, in fact, better, with Allah SWT.
have secret good deeds between you and Allah again, like having a friend, having something that is just between you and your Lord will make you feel closer to Him.
make lots of du'a - especially in sujood having your dua's come true is the best feeling, especially when you have been praying for something for a long time, alhamdulillah. praying for anything, no matter how big or small, will make you feel closer to Him as you know that He alone will make everything okay and knows what is best for you.
remember death and prepare for it this one can be very hard but it is important to remember that death can come at anytime so always try and do good deeds and live righteously in order to please Allah. when having this mindset that each day is a new chance to seek forgiveness and do good deeds, you will feel closer to Him by wanting Him to be happy with you.

I wrote this in July 2023. When a friend of mine said: daftar LPDP nggak, Hab?
Istikharah: A Facility from Allah
I had set an alarm for myself to start planning ahead on the life after internship upon entering stase puskesmas.
But I had been slacking off and making my chronic disease as my excuse. So alhamdulillah Allah guided me to start the self-rediscovery journey.
I am not as intelligent nor do I have all the privileges, but I know my identity as a Muslim is my biggest Why.
This one month of caveman period was full of discussions, readings, writings. But it was also full of tears.
It was full of questions and prayers to Allah swt. Uncertainty can be scary, right?
Uncertainty can be unimaginably dark. It eats you up eventually, if you have no Guidance.
I have so many aspirations and ambitions. But I asked Allah, with all the potentials He has given me, the knowledge He bestowed upon me, the people He surrounded me with and the life story He had decreed:
To what specific purpose I shall contribute?
We are fortunate as muslims to have the end goal: His acceptance, and mercy, to be able to finally see Him in His paradise.
So I asked and asked. The beauty of Islam, is how comprehensive this deen is. You see, there is even a specific prayer to ask for guidance in making choices!
To be protected from making “false” choices:
Choices that are khaiir leads to preservation of eeman, of deen, of family, of the good in this world and the hereafter.
“Wrong” choices, on the other hand, leads to turmoil.
I asked myself as simple as, what if I were to be involved in a research unknowingly utilized for the corruption of people, of environment and of this deen. How shall I ever repent?
Hence duaa of istikharah in this world full of hidden agendas, is a gift from Allah. A facility that Allah prepared for His servants to return in times of doubts and anxiety.
O Allah. How I longed for our meeting. I have sinned endless times to which You decreed a repentance that follows. How grateful am I to be your servant.
O Allah.. in this period of waiting that is full of uncertainty please grant upon me the tranquility of heart, the strength to practice husnudzan billah, to continuously have faith in your Plans. Guide me. Don’t let me be astray.

Allah says Kun "Be" and miracles happen, the most impossible things happen. So don't worry if your heart hurts today. Allah can change your situation in a miraculous way, in all ways you don't even know. Allah swt can change your story within a blink of an eye. Your situation can change within a second, everything can fall into place exactly how you wished and prayed for. You just have to continue to have faith in Him and accept His decree. Continue to pray to Him with full faith that He will accept your du'as and give you what your heart truly desires as long as it has pure goodness in it for you. You got through the days you felt the worst, you got through the moments you felt it's too much to handle. you were drowning but Allah saved you from that storm. So have faith and keep going. This too shall pass and happiness will come in bundles. 🌷

📸 listen. listennnn i know eid is long past but!!! how about muslim!driver (or team member in general) celebrating eid with her team 🤭
(lowkey think that merc and williams would be the most inclusive when it comes to having a high-ranking muslim team member on their team, but i think mclaren is also up there probably?)
thank you so much for sending this!! i absolutely loved making it!
this was VERRYYY self indulgent (made driver a desi hijabi like me) and made me 🥹 i need more Muslim friends 😭😭
i added a post for chaand raat (the night of sighting the new moon, for my non-Muslim friends) because i got carried away with this prompt
also i made the driver be on merc to fill in that empty seat that’s currently there

How merciful is Allah (swt) for allowing us the knowledge that Jannah awaits the martyred. To know that heaven is their final destination, Subhanallah. That’s the mercy of our Rabb.

Today specifically I was a lil too numb than usual. I felt like my imaan is going down. I have been searching for answers. Sometimes some thoughts are too heavy on the heart and you can't find anyone whom you think u can tell those thoughts and expect the answer you deserve except Allah swt.
And yk what Allah swt told me:
إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّىٰ
فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَىٰ وَٱتَّقَىٰ
وَصَدَّقَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ
Surely the ends you strive for are diverse.
As for the one who is charitable, mindful of Allah,
and firmly believes in the finest reward,
We will facilitate for them the Way of Ease.
[Surah al-Layl, Ayah 4-7]
I can't tell you about my thoughts but surely this is the most perfect answer to everything I was struggling with. Look how Allah swt is telling you and me to believe in the best reward, to literally imagine the best thing we can ever think of happening and having, and then believe that He has it instore for us, In sha Allah. Every difficulty you are going through right now (for the sake of Allah), know that non of it will go in waste. Ease is always near.🥺

Nowadays everyone like literally everyone has become used to using the word DEPRESSION without realising how much it's affecting others and even themselves. Non-muslims using it were normal before but nowadays the youth of our Muslim community has become so addicted to feeling as if they're facing some great problems which no one else is facing. If any Muslim is reading this, I'd tell you only one thing. THIS LIFE IS MERELY A TEST. Don't let other people speaking about something depressing, affect you in any way. Try learning Islam, knowing how beautiful and peaceful our religion is. STOP thinking that you're facing big problems, there are people out there who are facing way more than you and everyday they wake up with positivity that Allah azzawajal gave them another day to improve themselves. Allah azzawajal doesn't test us to let go of us, instead He SWT wants us to become closer to him.
وَوَجَدَكَضَآلّٗافَهَدَىٰ ٧
And He found you lost and guided [you], Ad-Duhaa (93:7)

utterly disappointed yet not surprised about harris saying she supports Israel 100%. when will the USA understand that you should not let entire populations be destroyed just for the sake of keeping your global spot at the top. when will people understand that letting others be occupied with destroying each other and slowly gaining power while they do so is not even an efficient and permanent way to hold power? Once they have destroyed each other, the winners will look to you as their next target. extremely troubling. how can I choose between a destructive wannabe tyrant and a seemingly "peaceful" enabler? if I don't choose I am voluntarily leaving my fate to be decided by everyone else, and that doesn't sit right with me either. And yet every option I choose will spill Palestinian blood anyway. It is times like these when you keep your faith close to you. I'll make my best judgement and Allah (SWT) will know that I tried. Remember that whatever happens only happens by His will. May He withhold mercy in the afterlife from the oppressors, both the direct ones and the indirect ones, and may he grant the martyrs a coolness in the afterlife and a sweet Paradise.

ways to improve your salah
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
understand what you are reciting knowing what you are reciting will help you understand the blessings in what you are saying as well as the beauty of salah. this will make you feel more connected with Allah SWT.
have humility and meekness understand that you are facing the Lord of the Worlds, the One, that nothing is hidden from Him and He knows what is in your heart. so earnestly stand before Him and pour out your heart and ask for forgiveness hoping that it will be accepted.
pray as if it is your last prayer this one is important because you truly do not know if it will be your last prayer or not. think to yourself before you pray: if I die before the next prayer, how can I make sure that this prayer is the best prayer I have ever done? and build that into a habit every time where you are praying sincerely with concentration.
imagine that Allah SWT is right there in front of you and is watching you pray He is right there in front of you but sometimes it can be forgotten or not fully appreciated, so it needs to be visualised. imagining Him by your head as you do sujood you will help you gain that humility and meekness and will make you be more concentrated as you are aware that you are praying before the very One who created you, who has blessed you, who is the Most Forgiving and Merciful, subhanallah. this is your time with Allah SWT to worship Him and have a conversation with him so concentrate and bow down to Him sincerely.
understand the blessings in it doing research on the beauty of prayer and the blessings in it will make you never want to miss a prayer and will change a 'i have to pray' mindset to a 'i want to pray' mindset as you will not want to miss out on the beautiful blessings of salah. remember: we need Allah SWT, He does not need us. it is for our own benefit.
set alarms to pray on time this will serve as a reminder that it is time to pray. snoozing the alarm will hopefully cause some guilt which can motivate you to pray and to do it on time.

I don’t know how any actual people, with actual brain cells and an actual functioning mind look at what is happening in Palestine and still say ‘I stand with israel.’
Like are you fucking dumb or just plain ignorant?
No, like for real, actually someone explain it to me. Explain to me how the fuck israel is the victim. Explain to me that what is happening in Palestine isn’t genocide, and ethnic cleaning, and settler colonialism, and a massacre. Try and persuade me to think that israel isn’t committing war crimes, and that what is happening isn’t a crime against humanity.
I used to be filled with heartbreak at every video I saw about the tragedies in Palestine, but now it fills me with rage.
If you’re staying silent, or if you’re ‘neutral’ you are fucking disgusting because you are siding with the oppressor.
Simply look at a map of Palestine from before 1948 and now and that literally is enough evidence. Never mind factoring the thousands slaughtered and millions displaced.
Never mind looking at the apartheid, where there’s streets in occupied Palestinian territory that Palestinians aren’t even allowed to walk on. Never mind the use of white phosphorus, or the bombing of apartments, and hospitals, and churches. Never mind the murder of THOUSANDS of Palestinian CHILDREN. Never mind the fact that Gaza is the largest open-aired prison in the world.
The map alone is evidence enough. Adding all these atrocities in just goes to show that regardless of what is happening, the West still stand with genocide.
Enough is enough. There needs to be a ceasefire. Aid for 2.2 million people needs to be let in. There needs to be an end to the occupation of Palestine.
There’s no ‘two-state solution’; the only solution is the complete eradication of the settler colony israel (the ‘state’, not the Jews before anyone tries to call me anti-semitic) and for the land to be fully claimed as Palestine once more.
And when that day comes, because it will, the Day of Judgement will be upon us Insha’Allah, and everyone will answer to Allah SWT for their role in the slaughter of Palestinians.
Free Palestine 🇵🇸

So I figured out I'm angelkin, I think that fits well. I have an issue, though, and sorry for the long ask in advance.
I was raised atheist, went through a ton of religions including Christianity (where I found my angelkin-ness). The thing is, now I'm considering Islam as a faith. I mean... It's complicated.
In a lot of Christianity, there's not too much of an emphasis on the angels. There are only a handful named in the texts and traditions of the liturgical churches. They have their roles, but the most attention they get is like... The annunciation (Mary receiving the news of her virgin pregnancy, etc etc). So I was christian, and it was easy to call myself angelkin, angelic, an angel.
BUT. Islam puts a good amount of emphasis on the angels. There are more named, they have specific duties, and they are described in certain texts. I don't know... It just feels like I'm disrespecting Allah (swt) (<- Putting the letters because it's a good habit for me) and/or His angels. I know this is probably something I should figure out on my own, but I'm just feeling so lost.
I have so many questions- Does Allah (swt) know how I feel? Does He understand? What should I do?
You don't have to answer those, but I invite anyone who sees this to try. If you have answers, advice, anything, my kin blog is @angeltearsandhumanfears . Thank you 🫶🏻

There are some duas that you’ve been making for years, and it feels like nothing changes or the duas don’t work, but the reality is that maybe in those years of time, Allah SWT is preparing you for what you are asking. And when the appointed time comes, your duas turn into reality all at once. When the right time comes, Allah will make it happen for you with ease. This is how it works. No dua is wasted or unnoticed by Allah. If your duas come true so easily and nothing looks impossible, then how will you witness Allah’s miracles? Anyone can make dua when things seem possible and easy, but it shows your faith and trust in Allah when you continue to make dua with conviction even when things look upside down. One day, Allah will show you why all the painful wait was needed, so for now, keep on making dua, Keep on knocking on the door till it opens. Keep on believing in the hikma and khayr of delays. After all, it is only Allah who Knows the perfect time for everything. 🌷
