Billi the Belligerent's mobility was getting so bad a few days ago I was starting to think about evaluating her QOL and making scary decisions
Sunday evening she got her cartrophen injection, and yesterday she was downright peppy! Was happy to receive scritches, allowed her insulin shots with no problem, practically skipped to her food plate when I filled it (as well as a large, geriatric, arthritic cat with numbness in her extremities can 'skip')
She still can't walk very sturdily or very far, but clearly the cartrophen makes a difference in how comfortable she is. I should ask the doc if we can increase it to twice a week or something, because she seems to feel pretty great on Monday but is a sad sad lump by Friday
Speaking of Friday, this Friday she's getting her second monthly Solensia injection, which is supposed to help with her arthritis as well. So, fingers crossed that it will make a positive difference

i present to you the most useless talent i possess
#it felt like a workout i didnt breathe the whole time#but then right after some user posted a video in which he played the same song with super perfect score on every single hit#and i was like Holy Fuck#no matter how good you think you are there is always some other dude who does it better than you tenfold#this is a game i started to play a few weeks ago. i've even found a new friend there. she's 25 and lives on the other side of the globe#she's very sweet and compliments my shitty english often#she really adores me for some reason since the very start and it was kinda confusing at first#well not until i figured that we actually play on the steam-exclusive server lol#i had a chat with a few people in my mother tongue there and it genuinely ruined my day#my in-game block list is full and i don't usually block anyone on any platform. steam users are build different i guess#so it was one in a million chance of us to meet each other lol we have a lot in common. its bizzare even#but at the same time we're pretty much the opposites. she likes black. she wants to be shorter. she has a fiancé. she also lives in usa#a few days ago she has sent me a photo of the local protesters outside the cafe she was eating at#with the caption like “in the land of freedom there are protesters everywhere” and i got really sad#i flashbacked to a few years ago when i was trying to run away from the local police officers while attending the protest#its not the “trying to run away” part that got me traumatised for life but the idea of freedom in my country as a whole#ngl that day unironically kinda deformed my faith in humanity. my adolescent naivety and bravery had gone ever since#this is so sad i fear despacito won't be enough to fix this#what a shitty time to be alive dont you think#but if i keep thinking about the stuff i cant control or change no matter how hard i try i will spiral into insanity in a heartbeat#anyway i think she's really cute as well. she also has two cats that she loves so i've finally found a person to send all the cat memes to#also not that long ago some cat-loving english-speaking user wrote to me here and we talked sweetly for a little while#they've told me my crochets are cute and it genuinely made my day better. not because of the compliment but tge thought behind it#english-speaking cat lovers you should know that you're the sweetest people i've ever encountered in my life#but im afraid that my prediabities will develop into diabetes if we keep this up (im not against it)#i wish every person on earth is this kind#this escalated quickly i guess. lets just look at me struggling to keep up with the buttons on the screen

Natural Ways to Lower Your Blood Pressure
This article is originally published on Freedom from Diabetes website, available here. Nowadays millions of people across the world facing high blood pressure problem. If you Left it untreated, it can lead to heart disease, stroke, kidney damage and even death. Unfortunately hypertension—to give it its medical name—doesn’t always show up with clear signs and symptoms; which is why it is sometimes referred to as the silent killer. All is not doom and gloom, however. You can lower your blood pressure, and this article gives you ten different ways to do this, naturally. The normal range for BP is 80/120; anything above 90/140 puts your BP in the hypertensive zone.
Tumblr media
Natural ways to reduce blood pressure
Do exercise regularly:
Exercise is the most important for us to make your heart healthy. It help to improves its blood-pumping efficiency, and lowers the pressure in your arteries. All in all, it is one of the most basic and best things you can do to normalize your blood pressure. Even simple activity, like walking—provided it is done vigorously, and regularly—can improve your BP and heart health. Try and get in at least 30 min of exercise a day.
Lower sodium consumption
Salt has become so prevalent in today's world, that it permeates almost everything you eat, especially processed food. Salt contains sodium, which the body tries to balance by holding water. This can cause BP to rise, stressing your heart and blood vessels.
Reduce or cut out alcohol
Alcohol causes blood vessels to narrow, due to the action of a hormone called Renin. Constricted blood vessels automatically translate to higher blood pressure In addition Renin decreases fluid output (urine). Higher fluid levels and constricted blood vessels are dangerous combinations for BP.
Eat more high-Potassium foods
You have to focus on eating Leafy green veggies, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, Nuts and seeds, Beans If sodium increases fluid retention, potassium has the opposite effect. It helps rid the body of sodium and lowers pressure on your blood vessels.
De-Stress High-stress levels drive BP up. When you’re under stress, your endocrine system floods your body with two hormones, cortisol, and adrenaline.
Reduce weight
Studies consistently show that even a modest weight loss of 5% of your body weight leads to a significant reduction of blood pressure levels. This is because, with less weight to lug around, your heart can do a more efficient job pumping blood.
Over time, high blood pressure can cause a range of health problems, including diabetes and kidney damage, so it's crucial to maintain your blood pressure within a normal range.

i think baby fever is striking me. well. not really because ive always loved kids and have also always considered pregnancy to be horrifying and immensely unwanted. but lately i am like maybe i should shift the mental life timeline and start looking into foster parenting or adoption at like 25 instead of 35. and being a bit bummed that my inability to carry a child means i likely will never have an infant unless a future partner wants to be pregnant. which i think is the trans man incapable and unwilling to become pregnant version of baby fever. Man.

it's so fucking annoying that the public opinion on SSRI seems to be that they make you into an emotionless zombie and the side effects are clearly not worth taking them, the implication being that nobody was in a bad enough state before taking them that they may consider the side effects worth it. like idk man i just don't care that much when you compare it to uncontrollable mood swings and constant intrusive suicidal thoughts. like ppl act as if this is some kind of anti-pharma progressive line of thought but they don't actually give a shit about informed consent before beginning the medication in any meaningful sense, they mostly just seem to think depression isn't real and nobody would continue taking antidepressants if they knew there would be drawbacks. i assure you my consent is very informed i just don't like being completely out of control and scared of myself, which is what i was fucking like off medication. maybe someday if i have a few months of my life free to have outbursts at people and desperately want to kill myself ill try a new medication or weaning off this one or whatever. if you want it that bad you can prepare the cash and some apology letters.
