Unfortunately hypertension—to give it its medical name—doesn’t always show up with clear signs and symptoms; which is why it is sometimes referred to as the silent killer. All is not doom and gloom, however. You can lower your blood pressure, and this article gives you ten different ways to do this, naturally. Natural ways to reduce blood pressure
Do exercise regularly:
Exercise is the most important for us to make your heart healthy. It help to improves its blood-pumping efficiency, and lowers the pressure in your arteries. All in all, it is one of the most basic and best things you can do to normalize your blood pressure. Even simple activity, like walking—provided it is done vigorously, and regularlycan improve your BP and heart health. Try and get in at least 30 min of exercise a day.
Lower sodium consumption
Salt has become so prevalent in today's world, that it permeates almost everything you eat, especially processed food. Salt contains sodium, which the body tries to balance by holding water. This can cause BP to rise, stressing your heart and blood vessels.
Reduce or cut out alcohol
Alcohol causes blood vessels to narrow, due to the action of a hormone called Renin. Constricted blood vessels automatically translate to higher blood pressure In addition Renin decreases fluid output (urine). Higher fluid levels and constricted blood vessels are dangerous combinations for BP.
Eat more high-Potassium foods
You have to focus on eating Leafy green veggies, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, Nuts and seeds, Beans If sodium increases fluid retention, potassium has the opposite effect. It helps rid the body of sodium and lowers pressure on your blood vessels.
De-Stress High-stress levels drive BP up. When you’re under stress, your endocrine system floods your body with two hormones, cortisol, and adrenaline.
Reduce weight
Studies consistently show that even a modest weight loss of 5% of your body weight leads to a significant reduction of blood pressure levels. This is because, with less weight to lug around, your heart can do a more efficient job pumping blood.
Over time, high blood pressure can cause a range of health problems, including diabetes and kidney damage, so it's crucial to maintain your blood pressure within a normal range.

Which kind of tea, green tea or black tea, is better for lowering blood pressure?
Lowering blood pressure can be quite challenging, and many people with hypertension can relate to this. Every millimeter of mercury (mmHg) reduction in blood pressure is a long-term gift obtained through strict medication adherence, a healthy diet, and moderate exercise.
However, scientists have discovered a group of people who can easily lower their blood pressure with a simple and small habit. After just 12 weeks, they achieved significant blood pressure reduction.
Tumblr media
They found that long-term tea consumption reduced the average systolic and diastolic blood pressure by 1.8 mmHg and 1.4 mmHg, respectively.
So, which type of tea is best for lowering blood pressure?
Part 1: Although there are many types of tea in the market, such as green tea, black tea, oolong tea, white tea, yellow tea, and chrysanthemum tea, most studies on the relationship between tea consumption and blood pressure focus on green tea and black tea.
Researchers from the Fuwai Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences published a meta-analysis in the British Journal of Nutrition, which included 25 relevant studies and 1,476 participants. They found that people who drank green tea had a significant reduction in systolic blood pressure by 2.1 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure by 1.7 mmHg. In contrast, those who drank black tea had a reduction of 1.4 mmHg in systolic blood pressure and 1.1 mmHg in diastolic blood pressure. Therefore, long-term consumption of green tea seems to be more effective in controlling blood pressure.
Another meta-analysis by foreign scholars also found that green tea had a more significant blood pressure-lowering effect than black tea.
Frequent consumption is key
Although many studies suggest that tea consumption can help lower blood pressure, this does not mean that people with hypertension who do not have a tea-drinking habit can immediately lower their blood pressure by drinking a cup of tea. After all, tea is not medicine.
Researchers from the Fuwai Hospital found that acute tea intake had no effect on systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Blood pressure reduction only became significant after drinking tea for more than 12 weeks, with systolic blood pressure decreasing by 2.6 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure decreasing by 2.2 mmHg.
In addition to "long-term," some scholars suggest that the frequency of tea consumption is also related to blood pressure reduction. Hodgson et al. evaluated the effect of long-term regular tea consumption on blood pressure in older women. A total of 218 women over 70 years old were included in the study. The results showed that tea intake was related to a significant reduction in systolic and diastolic blood pressure. An increase of 250 ml/day (one cup) of tea intake was associated with a 2.2 mmHg reduction in systolic blood pressure and a 0.9 mmHg reduction in diastolic blood pressure.
This suggests that frequent tea consumption may have a beneficial effect on blood pressure in older women.
Furthermore, a study on blood pressure and tea consumption in the elderly population in Jiangsu, China, involving 4,579 participants, found a significant negative correlation between tea consumption frequency and systolic and diastolic blood pressure after adjusting for age, sex, lifestyle, and other factors.
In conclusion, although many studies have shown that tea consumption can help lower blood pressure, it is important not to make the tea too strong.

Hey y'all! I didn't get many requests for particular pride flags or pride plushies this pride month, but I did get a few requests for an intersex pride something. The intersex pride flag (like a few other flags) is more difficult for me to make, because a symbol is harder to incorporate into an oddly-shaped plushie than just stripes, and the circle will have to be* appliqued by hand so I'd prefer to limit the number of circles. So far, I have three ideas: 1. one of my pride bees (a very round bee consisting of three stripes) that's yellow with a purple stripe in the middle. There wouldn't be a flat ring, but the stripe would kind of form a ring? 2. a yellow dog plushie with a purple ring around its eye like the dog from Little Rascals. Idk how well known that dog is anymore or if it would be recognizable, but it's a one-applique option? I could also include purple patches on the back that are not rings, like the dog's markings in the show (in the movie? to be honest, I just remember the ring around the dog's eye) 3. a blue ringed octopus but the rings are purple. I think this would be awesome but I don't want to applique that many rings by hand and haven't found a fabric with the rings at quite the right scale and density for this project, so this is probably a longer-term one but I do want to make it eventually Do y'all have opinions on any of these, or any other ideas? For intersex pride plushies or for other pride plushies, I've had some work and some family things come up this month that mean I have not gotten as much sewing done this month as I wanted to, and I do love making pride plushies and would love more suggestions *yes, there are a few other ways I could possibly do that, but functionally with the way I make things it'd be by hand

every time i talk to someone about my legs not working correctly or that im having pain in my knees, ankles or hips, i feel gaslit to believe they’re fine and im just overreacting. that my ‘temporary pain’ is just another way to stuff my face with painkillers so id shut up and be an able-bodied, working class citizen. that im crazy to think im ill because im as healthy as a horse [hehe michael rutherford reference] or it’s just something to do with my ever changing stressful situations [which is a whole other can of worms oh. my gods] or its my diet [this has actually been said to me before.]
when i know it isnt. i dont know what’s wrong with me, and i cant afford to know due to the damn usamerican health system. and i dont know if it would be forward for me to buy a mobility aid just so i can go on a walk without feeling sick halfway through [because morning walks are part of my everyday routine. if i dont something will go wrong, for me.] i was gutted out of money just because i went to get new glasses, getting a wellness check PLUS asking if i have POTS or a hypermobile disorder [which ive done research on, im not self-diagnosing myself] would put me in so much debt. [and im not counting the gender affirming care, which again is another can of worms that i would probably discuss more than my stress and trauma] when explaining my leg pains, i also bring up the fact that ive ran several small motor vehicles [go-karts and golf carts] into trees and fence posts respectively. could that be a reason for my pain? sure. but take it as a grain of salt. whether inflicted or not, pain is pain.
i feel like i whined a bit here, but after whatever happened today, i just want to reflect a little bit. maybe put an opinion in or something, i don’t mind. hearing from other people helps :>

Ugh I'm always hungry but also never have an appetite and can't make myself eat much of anything... which of my many ailments is the cause of this and how do I eat more than a few bites without feeling like I'm going to be sick when I started out super hungry?

Currently thinking about Mike Madhouse,,,. He fascinates me
So they claim he drank so much of that energy drink his “skin turned green”, right, yeah?
And I have. Questions about that! Doubts even!
My thoughts are,, there are. A few different options for what I think actually happened with all that and stuff. So.
1. Given the world they exist in… it might have. It seems to be within reason that if there’s such a thing as abyss sourced ingredients for coffee shop shit in a town full of Cryptids and abnormal humans that there could be an energy drink that can turn you green.
2. The idea that the drink turned him green could have come about after his death! Like, he seems to have kept on broadcasting after his death (hence the “ghost channel” you check out at the start), it seems possible that he might have mentioned “his skin being green” on one of said broadcasts because, well, it is now that he’s a ghost! Or one of those “cryptid sighting” pictures was posted, or a ghost hunter stumbled upon him and started talking about it. So the news stories/people picked it up and now that’s what people believe is true
3. It was entirely made up to sensationalise the news, though they neglected to actually talk about the guy himself apparently.
And then there’s the fourth option my friend suggested which. Well
4. It’s a mix of two and three, with the stories reporting they turned his skin green and Madhouse — his memory muddled as it was by his death — believed it.
#purples rambling#madhouse mike#Cryptid crush#so like. his reason for death is kind of#well it’s said to the player that ‘he drank so much of it [sketchy energy drink] his skin turned green and he beefed it!’#and it’s called ‘toxic waste energy’#and also kinda called radioactive#*but* my friend pointed out. that there are many comments about how the drink is actually infamous for its high caffeine content#and Mike was working in a pretty shitty situation#too many hours and little to no breaks and shitty bosses and coworkers#so it stands to reason the stress of all this would make his blood pressure pretty high!! and he’s been working there for FIVE YEARS#and on a cork board there’s a schedule with ‘doctor’s appointment’ marked on it suggesting a prolonged problem#so perhaps he’d developed heart problems ya know?#blah blah blah caffeine is Really not good for that so! it seems likely in turn that the ungodly amounts of caffeine just#well. made his heart kick the fucken bucket#death tw#the tag ramble was almost entirely thought up by my friend btw#I had my suspicions but they’re much better at putting pieces together#having a friend who’s really good at analysing stuff is amazing#and I’m so glad I managed to get them into it#I can’t overstate how cool it is to have someone who can just drop something that tears your heart asunder just like that ya know#a little saddened I can’t contribute like that but whatever I can still have good conversations about it >:]

No offensive, but I don’t get my mom most of the times in these days anymore. After she started to be with her current boyfriend (like 10 years ago) it seems like she just has become more dumb - pretty much the same what and how HE is as well. More under the cut since this is a bit “long” post.
When mom comes to visit me once every day (because she spends all her time at his place otherwise), first thing what she does is go to the fridge and eat. Eat, eat and eat some more. Those few hours what she’s with me, most of it she spends on eating.
I honestly have asked from her: Is she starving herself at his place? Isn’t he letting her eat? What she eats per day? All this because I have faint memory of mom telling me years ago how this guy, while being drunk, had nagged at mom about it how much she eats. What comes to her eating at his place, she just says: “Oh, but I have eat! I ate oatmeal in the morning, during the day I drank a cup of coffee, at the afternoon I ate few slices of bread. (or few potatoes with tiny bit of sauce)”
I have told her many times THAT’S NOT ENOUGH and that she needs to eat! At least 2-3 warm meals per day! Especially since she has diabetes (mom has had it for decades but it doesn’t give her any symptoms like dizziness etc.) she needs to watch her eating.
Also, some weeks ago mom showed me her toenails and, my GOD! Big nails were brown, other nails lighter brown, her nameless- and little toes’ nails being VERY thick and yellow! And the SMELL! OH GOD, THE SMELL!! That horrible stink lingered in the house for HOURS after she left back to her boyfriend’s! She’s literally rotting and she doesn’t notice or care! (she has other health issues as well which she just hasn’t taken care of)
I told her she, with 100%, has nail fungus and that she NEEDS TO get them treated! Properly! (Note: I watch a lot of professionals’ videos about pimple popping, nail fungus etc. on Youtube. My favorites are Enilsa Brown and Toe Bro, just few to mention).
For ONCE she listened to me, calling to a hospital she needs to see a podiatrist. You can’t get appointment otherwise. Mom is still waiting for her call.
Now, I don’t know what kind of professional this new lady is (hopefully great!) but the previous one who mom visited years ago... I question her a lot since she had told mom that she DOESN’T need any treatment! Like why?! She had nail fungus back then already!
And then mom... She is a person who always listens doctors etc. bending in their will instantly instead of standing up for herself, demanding treatments - like she should had done with that first podiatrist. Tell her she NEEDS and WANTS her toenails to be treated - because NOTHING was done to her toenails. No trimming, lotion, meds, nothing!
So, I really hope this new lady takes mom and her nail fungus seriously, helping mom to get rid of them.

Hey y'all! Having the kidlet and his mom visit was absolutely awesome, and after crashing pretty hard the first day I wore compression socks for the next days, and they made such a huge difference I want to get more of them Do you have any recommendations for knee-high or higher compression socks? In fun colors/patterns preferably, because I'm probably going to spend the summer in compressions socks, shorts, and a tank top and I'd enjoy the socks being colorful
