Life of a Whis

Four years... Daily Whis has been running for four years now and I genuinely can't thank all of you enough!

I know this endeavor started as a silly thing I wanted to do because I was inspired by daily-squilf, but I never expected this blog to grow so much and become such an important part of my life. Whistlepaw, no. Whistlebreeze has grown so much in the past four years and so have I alongside whis. This blog genuinely means so much to me. It's gotten me through horrendous times and I also got to bring my joy to it too. Whis means so much to me, I draw her all the time in class or when I lack inspiration. I can draw that face with those fluffs anywhere.

And none of this would've happened without your support either. All the loving comments and reactions to my drawings is what kept me motivated to draw for so long, and today you all proved again why Daily Whis couldn't be a solo mission. Thanks to you I still got to do the yearly celebration of posting one drawing per hour every hour ignoring the fact that this post gets 20 drawings technically, I'll share all the separate frames in a reblog. Thank you so much to every single one of you for participating in this, or supporting this blog for the past four years, you are all so incredibly amazing

To celebrate the four years of this blog, I think we need a name change. Whis got her full name, so from now on this blog will be daily-whistlebreeze to match that change. I'm not planning on stopping soon either, I will keep going until the Erins finally cave and make that damned book or the series stops. So now, I hope you all enjoyed the fourth anniversary of Daily-Whistlebreeze, I'll be back tomorrow with another day of Whis and her antics

The GorseBeech kin (plus Hootwhisker for some reason) finally fully designed!

My references for these cats were so old and didn't look enough like a family to me, so I put them all on one canvas and decided to redo them all.

From left to right, up to down we have

Beechfur and Gorsetail

Swallowtail, Sedgewhisker and Thistleheart

Hootwhisker, Brookkit, Stripekit, Larkwing, Featherpelt, Oatclaw

Leafkit, Branchkit, Grasskit, Flutterfoot, Whistlepaw and Songleap.

I might in the future post these designs individually, but I really just needed a good reference for all of these cats so this is mostly for me, but I have to say it's quite fun to see all these cats together in one big drawing.

Random little nicknames some kitties have:

Spottedleaf: Spotty (only Redtail gets to call her this, nobody else!)

Hollyleaf: 'Weaf', only used by Strawberrytuft (Hollytuft) because she struggled with Ls as a kitten, she keeps calling her that because it's funny to them both

Yellowfang: Yelf. Friends and family call her this, except Brightflower, who is MUCH more formal.

Moonflower: Moo. Rooktail and Daisytoe called her Moo when she was little, alternatively...

Goosefeather: Goo. See above.

Sunbeam: Sunshine, given by Blazefire and Lightleap.

Juniperclaw: Juni, from Sleekwhisker. Berryheart HATED it.

Cypresswind, the grown-up Cypresspaw: Cy. Her mother Perchwing calls her that, as well as all her friends (her sister Wavesplash, Foxnose, Willowshine, and Jayclaw)

Hootwhisker: Hooty, given to him by his mentor Leaftail.

honestly- thinking about Hootwhisker and how that joke about him getting a super edition should come true. He is a blank slate- take advantage of that Erin’s.

I don't understand what the purpose of bloating the patrol searching for Nightcloud was. 3 characters should have been the max, either Breezepelt, Crowfeather, and Hootpaw OR Brezzepelt, Crowfeather, and Heathertail. And even then the third would be kind of a spare.
