The Blog Begins - 9-26-23

Okay, so I've tried to do this blogging thing so many times at this point. But I really wanna stick with it this time because my hand gets too tired when I try writing in a physical diary. Plus maybe people will think it's interesting? Who knows. Also I got a new keyboard and it's MECHANICAL so it makes the good clickies and I love typing on it. Like, I need an excuse to just type a bunch. So I'm gonna just write little diary entries.

I'm going to start off with work.

So, I work in a thrift shop. I don't want to say the name of it for my own privacy and I guess legal reason and things, so I'll just call it... ThirftWill. :) So I started working at ThriftWill in July and I've really been liking it. Like, I really like the job itself. I mean, it's repetitive and menial and sometimes I feel like I'm in purgatory. But on the brightside, I don't have to interact with the customers because I'm in the back.

Apparently, Gen Z is the generation that thrifts the most, but that would NOT be my first guess because our store is always full of old people. Mostly white old people. But I guess that's down to location because where the store is is where mostly well-off white people live. So they come in and shop and also to donate their stuff.

Speaking of which, people will literally drive up to donate their stuff the second we open. It's so weird. Like, do y'all have nothing better to do at 9am?

Actually, now that I think of it, some people may be dropping stuff off before work. Because the other day I was walking in (I go in at 8am, it's heinous.) and some lady was dropping stuff off outside the donor door before we opened, which people do all the time even though you aren't supposed to. Like, seriously, there's a sign RIGHT THERE that says to not leave donations outside the door when the store is closed... and people leave their stuff under the sign. :) I guess the mindset is that we'll take it anyway, like it's not like we're gonna throw it away, but still. My mom has been working there for 3 years now and she said that sometimes people steal the shit that people leave outside. The GALL that people have will never cease to amaze me.

ANYWAY, as I was saying, this woman was dropping stuff off outside as I was walking in and she was like, "Can I leave this stuff here?" Which, honestly, is a step up because I've literally made eye contact with a man leaving shit outside the door before and he didn't even bother to ask. He just nodded at me and kept doing what he was doing as I stared at him from inside the store with disdain. But she asked and I was like, "Honestly, not really. Like, there's a sign." And she was like, "Oh, I was just dropping it off because I have to run to work." And I told her that sometimes people be stealin' and so she said she'd take it somewhere else.

And part of me was like... am I a piece of shit? Like, I just turned down this woman's donation. But in my defense... I was just telling her the rules of the sign. And on top of that, our Thriftwill gets a LOT of donations every single day without fail and a good amount of it is sellable since it's in a nice area, so another Thriftwill in a less good location good use the stuff. So I'm not beating myself up over it.

ANYWAYS, it's my first time working full time in my life, which I realize is my privilege showing. Don't get me wrong, I'm not rich and I've never been rich in my life. But I have been very coddled and spoiled and I'm willing to admit that. So working full time for the first time at 23 is like.. maybe embarrassing. But in my defense, I started working part time at I think 18 or 19 until my scoliosis got too bad for me to stand/walk for a whole shift. So I was too disabled to work for a few years (despite the state telling me I'm not disabled and am not eligible for SSI which is garbage) but regardless.

I've had surgery since then to correct it. My surgery was in December last year and I am pretty much good now! I have nerve damage in a few places and I get this weird, sharp pain in my shoulders sometimes, especially my left one, but overall, I'd say I'm doing great. Especially considering the fact that my job has me standing for my whole shift and every part of my body hurts EXCEPT my back :) Like, seriously, my feet hurt so fucking bad y'all.

Even at home, it hurts to walk. I bought insoles, they didn't help, I used a pair that my dad had gotten and never used, they didn't help. I bought a new pair of shoes, (Sketchers, even!) and they DON'T HELP. They are super cute, though, so I'm keeping them. I think they're half a size too small. However! I ordered ANOTHER new pair of shoes and this time they're from an ortho website and they cost like $110 fucking dollars!!! But there's a money back guarantee. So either my feet will be soothed or my wallet will be reimbursed. They just got shipped yesterday I think which I'm like.. please for the love of all things holy please get here soon. I wore some compression socks on Sunday and I think they actually helped a bit which is nice. I also have this other compression thing that I've been wearing, even at home. Only one came in the pack >:( But I'm praying to Allah /j that these shoes help. There are literally two fatigue mats at my work station and yet my feet feel like someone beats them with a leather belt for 8 hours a day.

Also, I hate one of my coworkers. Dude, I hate her so much. She is my ENEMY. My NEMESIS. My RIVAL. Not trying to sound like Bingo Heeler, but she is my RIVAL. I despise this woman. For privacy reasons, I will call her Hawk.

You may be asking yourself, "Why does tumblr user ahoysteviex hate Hawk so much?" Here's the answer: SHE'S FUCKING DUMB.

But not only is she dumb, SHE'S ALSO A BITCH.

You cannot be dumb AND a bitch. PICK ONE. PICK A STRUGGLE.

To explain more clearly why I hate Hawk, I must first outline what it is I do at Thriftwill. There are multiple jobs in the backroom:

Donor Door: Helps people unload their donations and takes the items inside. Sorts the donations into categories - clothes, wares, electricals, furniture, etc. Replacing gaylords, other heavy-lifting jobs.

Wares: Prices things like stuffed animals, knick-knacks, glassware, bedding that's still in the packaging, hats, accessories, shoes, etc.

Electrical: Tests anything electrical to see if it works before pricing it and putting it onto the floor.

Sorter: Sorts through all the donated clothes, bedding, curtains, etc. to get rid of anything unsellable. They put the sellable clothes into bins separated by men's, women's', and children's. Sellable comforters are sanitized before being put into their own bin.

Hanger: Takes the sorted clothes, prices them, tags them, and hangs them on a rack before taking the rack out to the sales floor.

Me personally? I'm a Hanger. I be hanging clothes. I stay pricing clothes. And I'm good at it B). Now, the expected quota for Hangers is 700 pieces a day. AKA 100 pieces an hour. And y'all... I'm so close. I've been consistently hitting 600. I have a system and I'm getting so dang close to hitting 700. I think my highest is 648? I don't remember exactly. But one day... one day soon... I'm gonna get that marvelous 700. And on top of that, I'm accurate.

When you get a piece of clothing, you need to pick the category (men's, women's, children's), then pick what the item is (short sleeve, long sleeve, dress, pants, jeans, etc.), then you need to pick a price. There are 5 pre-selected prices that we stick too, but you can set your own price if you choose to. Obviously it would take forever if we had to type in a price for every piece of clothing, so we just use the pre-selected prices most of the time unless we find something particularly good that should be priced higher.

AND you need to put the tags on in specific places for what makes it easiest for the cashiers and the guy who pulls the clothes. We're supposed to always tag on the left side of the clothing (the right side if you're looking at it, left side if you're wearing it) and we're supposed to always, ALWAYS try to hide the hole that the pricing gun makes within a seam.

I'm probably 98% accurate at this. Sometimes there are shirts that are made of a material that is just IMPOSSIBLE not to make a hole in, even when you put it right in the seam. It's infuriating. But sometimes there are sweaters and stuff that are like... knitted and shit and so you CAN'T make a hole in it because it's already holes so you can pop that bitch in without worrying about it and I love those. That also goes for stuff with a ton of sequins or stuff that's super fluffy because the fluff hides it.

Anyway, this all relates back to Hawk because she's fucking awful at the job. She's literally so stupid that I think she might've had a lobotomy. She keeps putting the tags in the wrong spot. Seriously, she puts them on, like, the left breast of the shirt where it leaves A BIG ASS FUCKING OBVIOUS HOLE???? When she brings her rack of clothes out onto the floor, she blocks the fucking aisle with it. She tags women's clothes as kids and vice versa sometimes. She tags jackets as shirts and sweatpants as "pants" instead of "athletic" or "sleepwear". She's just SO DUMB. And whenever I or my mom try to correct her, she gets all salty about it. Like, she catches an attitude like she's mad we're telling her she's wrong. So I don't tell her SHIT anymore. I let her fuck up because I could care fucking less if she gets fired for being a dumb bitch that's incapable of learning very basic tasks.

It's truly so funny to me that she never asks me anything anymore LMAOOO. Like, in the beginning she would ask me stuff (stupid stuff, mind you) but now that we've formed a rivalry she never fucking asks me HAHAHA. She literally always goes and asks someone else. I'm like.. GOOD. Don't fucking talk to me. And on the rare occasion that she does ask me something, I usually just shrug and grunt.

Our manager has told her MULTIPLE TIMES where to tag the clothes. The other hanger (there's three of us) trained her the exact same way she trained me and I do it perfectly. Other people have literally told her where to fucking put the tag and it's taken her until yesterday to fucking do it right. We'll see how long it lasts before her goldfish brain forgets. Our managers literally printed out a DIAGRAM of a shirt and a pair of pants with arrows pointing to where you're supposed to tag the clothes and a reminder written to tag IN THE SEAM. And I don't need to be told that and neither does the other hanger (we'll call her Ciggy) because she'd been working there for YEARS. So we're all being subjected to this because she can't fucking learn.

Also, there are two stations for Hangers. Ciggy, like I said, has been working here for years so she has laid claim to one of the stations. She has her stuff set up the way she likes it and she has a few things hanging up and sitting around that she personally likes. (She has three reborn baby monkeys that are... super weird but I'm not here to judge). When I started working, there was another hanger (we'll call her Shag) and she had a few things up at the other station. Because they had both been there before me and they both preferred to work in the spots they had personalized, you know what I did? I respected that. Whenever Ciggy worked with me, I worked at Shag's station. Whenever I worked with Shag, I worked at Ciggy's station. It's just common fucking decency.

Hawk doesn't have that. But it's interesting, because she doesn't have that for me, yet she has it for Ciggy.

See, Shag quit shortly after I started working at ThriftWill. (That was an entire fucking hellride in itself. Shag was my rival before she thankfully left to work somewhere else. I hear she has a factory job now. I will tell more about Shag at a later date, as this post is super fucking long and I'm tired and I have to work tomorrow). Anyways, Shag quit. So I got her station! I was so excited, y'all. I was able to bring two of my stuffed sloths to hang up. And I've since added 2 Inosukes, a Steve, and a Bubba. I also downloaded Lively on the work computer so I could having a moving Inosuke desktop background.

Long story short, it's my spot. I work in the same spot everyday. But Hawk tried to passive aggressively fight me over it. At one point, I had to get our assistant manager to get her to move because she fully ignored me while I was talking to her.

So, yeah. I hate this woman.

Anyways! I think that's where I'll end this post. I finished this one a day after I started it so I need to start a new post because new stuff happened already.

I hope this doesn't completely flop. But honestly, it's okay if it does. It's mostly for myself anyways.

Weekly Journal 2: Being the youngest sibling!

Many people say that being the youngest sibling is such a dream come true, and they’re often spoiled by everyone, especially parents and siblings. I kind of admit it because I’m the youngest in my family! I’m really lucky to be. I have two gorgeous older sisters and two older brothers, and I love them very much.

The eldest in my family is my clumsy sister, Amalina, whom I call Along. I call her clumsy because she frequently loses her things, especially glasses. She’s turning 30 next year, and I feel a bit sad knowing she’s getting older and is still single. But it’s okay because, honestly, deep down, I don’t want her to get married, knowing she’ll love her children more than me—I’m so dramatic! She’s also the smartest in our family and genius at mathematic.

The second one is my brother, Shahmil, whom I call Abe (which is Kelantanese slang for ‘Abang,’ meaning brother). He’s the funniest in our family, or I’d say the best comedian in the world. He always shows me funny videos, and we laugh together. He often treats me whatever I want, especially food, and my brother and I always make fun of Along.

My next brother is Shahmi, but I address him as Saming. He’s studying for his degree at UniKL Bangi, which is near my college . His taste in music is hip-hop or rap because every time he drives, that’s what he plays. I’m the closest to him among all my siblings. He’s also the slimmest among us .

The second youngest is my tall sister, Amalia, whom we address as Noya or Niya. Don’t ask me why, we don’t know the origin of the nickname! In Kelantan, she’s my roommate, and we’re really close to each other, probably because we’re both Gen Z and understand modern humor. We often fight, but after all blood is thicker than water. I still love her, though. We also share secrets, and she’s the first person to know everything that happens to me, whether it’s good or bad.

Even though we have our own differences and sometimes we argue , I wouldn’t trade them for anything . Each one of them brings something unique to my life. Being the youngest means I get to watch them all grow and succeed, and I’m so proud to be a part of this family. Even though they tease me, spoil me, and sometimes drive me crazy, I know I’ll always have their love and support. Honestly, that’s the best part of being the youngest.

i’ll explain simply so we’re not here all day ljdkjghfglk 

also this is based on what i get from what they put out there. i don’t know the boys personally, obviously lol

jin - alpha, because jin gives me an assertive but respectful vibe. he’s confident but not threateningly so. he’s well-rounded, knows how to provide. he’s sure of himself in most aspects, but he’d be a rare sort of alpha. he’s the funny, slightly awkward, jumpy type, but he’s good and although he might not be the leader of the pack, he’s certainly what keeps everyone together. 

yoongi - i don’t think i really need to explain yoongi. yoongi is just alpha. although i did see him as an omega at some point, i think yoongi would thrive as an alpha. he’s very reliable and solid. he feels like a constant, someone you can trust yourself with. he’s open-minded, willing to try things out of curiosity. he wouldn’t care about biology. just as long as you’re not a dick, he’s chill. very alpha. 

hobi - honestly, hobi could be either beta or alpha in my opinion. he loves wholly and somewhat aggressively. probably also gives no fucks about biology. he knows how to take care of himself. he’s very supportive, but not in a coddling way. if he sees you fucking up, he’ll tell you that you’re fucking up, that’s why i see some alpha in him. 

joon - like hobi, joon could be either beta or alpha. he big. he’d be a pretty gentle alpha though because he’d understand that being an alpha can be a bit intimidating for others so he dials it back. he doesn’t want his status to get in the way of good conversation and all that. joon is the leader, beta or alpha, he’s a good leader who knows how to work well with others. 

jimin - one of the main reasons why jimin will only ever be an omega to me is because he clearly has a praise kink and i want to give him everything he wants :) but in all seriousness, i think jimin would like being an omega. he’d see no issue with being feminine or masculine. they all work for him. he’ll do it all! he’d have no shame. he’d love to be pampered and cuddled. obviously he can take care of himself, he’s very capable, but with his loved ones, he’d want to be a bit spoiled.

tae - tae could be very easily be an alpha, too! i agree. he’s got the look down. the reason i picked omega for tae was because i kinda like the idea of him being a bit of an unconventional omega, with his deep ass voice and his tall stature. i feel that tae, like jimin, would love to be spoiled. not overprotected or treated delicately, but genuinely adored, and maybe sometimes babied idk. 

jk - apart from the fact that i love him as jimin’s alpha, i see jk as an alpha because he’s always actively working towards something. he’s very driven and passionate about what he likes, and about life in general i guess. he’ll work for what he wants and often succeeds. he’d like putting time and effort into something because the process is just fun! also he’s gen z, of course he’s an alpha lmao

You ask me this and you don’t specify which generation of the team. SMH. Lmao I know you meant the current main one but I feel the need to kinda explore a little with all three gens? Let’s see how this goes.

Star Fox 1st Generation: (of note, it’s interesting how all of them but Pigma had established families)

James McCloud - Smoker, suave, not as energetic as his wigmate, Peppy. And yet, he had enough in him to keep following his friend around. But honestly, James interested were more quiet and work oriented. A workaholic. Mind always on the team and the responsibilities he took on. Almost a complete perfectionist with a calming nature. His hobbies outside of work were few, and most were made with spending time with Peppy, Beltino, Pigma, the Greys and their families. Forming a taste for alcoholic beverages with Peppy, and appreciating the retro military look of space ships with Pigma, and the techno babbles of Beltino. Honestly, it still surprises him that he was able to find a wonderful wife in the end considering how work oriented he was, and focused. Vixy was possibly the only thing that kept him focused outside of work the most until she passed away. Then it was just Fox. And their times together were mostly focused on military history, documentaries, a continuous path of learning and studying. It was fulfilling and relaxing for James.

Peppy Hare - A much younger Peppy would be a spry little thing. More in shape, physically stronger and beaming to high heavens. And of course, a young husband and father like James. For his free time, besides catching up with the Toads and the Greys, Peppy would usually just spend time with Vivian and little Lucy. Before them, he was mostly into bar hopping with James around Corneria’s capital. Dancing with the single ladies and flirting. He was much better at it than James, honestly. He’s also a really good dancer. But once he tied the knot with Vivian and had Lucy, his world became just the two of them outside of work. He’d take them to picnics and spoil both with flowers and stories and nothing but his time to give to them. He’d even read his newspaper out loud so Lucy would know what the subjects were. She loved the voices he’d make. His family was everything…

Pigma Dengar - First time I’m thinking about this fool before he went to the dark side. And honestly, I can easily see him being more relaxed on his own. In the hangar after a hard day’s work upgrading Arwings with Beltino’s help. A good pack of cigarettes, a deck of cards, a handful of dice or maybe online gaming to keep his mind off things. Hell, I still see him being the kind of guy that would sit down with the kids and show them how to gamble honestly. Fox, Lucy, Slippy and Bill… And both Bill and Lucy remember the nasty little betting tricks too. Pigma was very much into gambling and taking bets on his off time too. He would get a lot of money, lose a lot of it, but in the early stages, it calmed him. Working on older models of ships helped him too. It’s rather unfortunate that this is where Lucy got some of her fascination for old model space ships, because of the magazines and books Pigma would let her look at. Modding was a big part of his younger life and he enjoyed that before joining the team. It… went away when things got worse.

Beltino Toad - I headcanon that, even if Beltino wasn’t part of the team, he was still a very important external force that helped out a lot. Especially with Pigma. So I will count him into my headcanon piece. He’s into making little machine toys. Like making little machine creatures and devices. To him, it keeps his mind sharp and there is always a new project on his table to go home to that isn’t an all consuming one. In fact, it’s one he could share with Slippy when he was old enough to walk. It helped with the two of them bonding and getting into other geeky stuff. Hell, Beltino was the type of father that would get into anything Slippy wanted to get into, so after that, he was a goner. Trading card games to video games, even modding them on the computer and making his own became his hobby as much as Slippy’s. In a way, spending time with his family was his way to relax.

Star Fox 2nd Generation:

Fox McCloud - I see Fox as being rather similar to his father in many ways. At first, he didn’t have as many hobbies that were formed on his own. Most of them were things he got into with his friends, Slippy, Bill and Lucy. With Slippy, he actually tried watching some of the cartoons but instead he was into more live action fighters (similar to Power Rangers). And with Lucy, he got into model kits of space ships. He has a few still. Whereas with Bill, he got into sports like baseball and handball. Hell, all four of them were into playing against each other in any game. But once his father died, Fox became more sullen and quiet. His interests were more work focused with the occasional gaming with Slippy. His shell started to break after the war however. So gaming is something he’s into now, as well as reckless space racing which, much to Peppy’s dismay, is something he got into with Falco. And meditation. That he learned with Krystal.

Falco Lombardi - This bird has no chill. Joking, he does. Falco’s free time is dictated by what he feels like doing. Besides trying to not be the worst gamer in the team–and that doesn’t exactly relax him at all but he keeps doing it. But what he does enjoy is watching cartoons with Slippy. Funny enough, they both have an unofficial established bond over ‘anime’ series such as Dino Ball Z and Sailor Papetoon. Something about the sailors legs, man… Ahem. But out of everything, Falco is into anything that will give him a sudden rush. Flying for any reason, races, pushing his own limits in the cockpit. And outside of his Arwing, well… Falco is reckless due to him wanting that rush continuously. From bar fights to even amusement park rides. Not the best of hobbies, to want to feel the danger behind his actions, but it’s something he became addicted to in a way. Staying cooped up somewhere will only make him more aggressive due to ‘my thoughts won’t stop, I need to drown them’ so he needs to keep moving.

Peppy Hare - In comparison to his younger self, a much older Peppy is much more sullen. Quiet, always looking after the younger team. His free time is usually dictated by what he needs to show them–trying to find the patience to guide them when anything sparks off. But when things are quiet, he finds himself mostly contacting old friends such as Beltino and Pepper, especially after Vivian passed away. Sometimes he’d contact Lucy, ask her how the cadets are doing, how she is doing. However such things aren’t as often as him sitting down with either Fox or Falco to chat with them. And even then, strangely, he seems to bond a little more with Falco at times, taking the time to pry open the avian. Why? Just a hunch. They have quite a bit in common without either of them knowing. He’s also very much fond of tea. Don’t bitch at him about his leaf water, leave him be!!

Slippy Toad - Listen here. Slippy is a bucket of hobbies. When he’s not working on machinery, making new inventions for his team, guess what he’s doing? This guy is making games on his computer for fun, testing them with Falco on the side (because he knows the difficulty curve Falco secretly needs to get shit done in a game, and if Falco is able to complete a task, the games is way too easy). When not making or playing games, he is having forum/server discussions with some of his online friends about cartoons and shows he’s into. He will actually share this with Falco a lot if it’s something the avian is into as well. He will also get into online trading card games and goes into bidding wars over certain real cards that are mega vintage. He also has a toy figure collection he keeps around in his dorm on the Great Fox (most of them are at home with his dad though). He’s also into music. All of the music that slaps in the Great Fox? That’s all Slippy. Bless him. Lastly, one more thing. He owns a ukelele. He knows how to play it. That is actually the mostly relaxing thing he can do for himself when he does feel absolutely anxious. Just sit somewhere quiet, away from everyone and string away.

Krystal - She’s a bit more simple in comparison. Used to living on her own in the wilderness, most of her free time consists of returning to Sauria to help restore the planet as much as she can. Empathy work is also something she truly enjoys doing when the recipient permits her to do so. So far, Fox and Slippy permitted her to work on some of their mental wounds. And yes, taught Fox how to meditate and relax in the silence as she found out Fox was never comfortable being alone. Out of the entire team, she’s possibly the one that’s most comfortable being herself.

Star Fox 3rd Generation:

Marcus McCloud - Unlike his father and his grandfather, Marcus is actually much more active when it comes to fun. A bit of a sports jock when in school and the Academy, he very much enjoys exercise to keep himself in shape and to keep his mind off things that can get under his skin. He enjoys gaming as well, but nothing compares to Skipper and Abby. Still better than Falco though, lmao.

Abigail Hare - Possibly the edgiest out of the team. She’s into reading books because of her mother, Lucy, and most of them are dark and spooky. Why? No dad, it’s not a phase. She also enjoys cartoons and is into retro space ships like Lucy (and got to drag her father into it as well). Now, the one thing her and her little brother, Valentino Hare, share in hobbies is that they both are actual super into healthy foods. This is mostly due to the shared rabbit disease passed down by mothers in Vivian’s bloodline. After Lucy passed away, Falco helped his kids to get into a much better diet and it became a shared thing between all three.

Skipper Toad - The oldest of the Toad siblings. He had to fight his way to stay relevant and boy, he’s merciless when it comes to his energy. Non stop, naturally caffeinated young man. From video games to schematics for lunch, to learning how to hack into different systems and databases to get information in a more proactive manner, he’s pretty much into many things that keeps him busy all the time.

Falco Lombardi - Like Peppy, he’s much older now, mellowed out, widower and a father of two. Abigail is his oldest, Valentino is his youngest (and that one stays on Corneria under the watchful eye of General Peppy). Ever since Lucy passed on, he’s been much more attached to his kids than ever, constantly checking on Valentino while with the team, and making sure the new team is able to stand on it’s own two feet. He finds it amusing how he’s the ‘gramps’ now, even though he still gets guidance from Peppy along the way. Sometimes Fox as well, but most of their conversations are just casual updates on how the new generation is doing. Honestly, he’s still kind of reckless, mostly to keep Marcus on his toes and to teach Abigail how to fly much better than what the Academy taught her. Honestly, the new team itself is his free time. He’d trade his place in there for nothing in the universe.

Vet - Sebastian Michaelis

Sebastian would forever be bringing you injured kitties.

“My dear, do you have a moment? This little lady said her ankle hurts.” he’d plop the kitty down on your bed and look at you expectantly.

Every time the kitty makes a noise, like a meow, he nods sagely and translates for you.

Sometimes you think he’s just making it up, looking for a reason to show off, and you’d be right.

But when he tells you what’s wrong with the cats, he’s being serious.

He’d be intrigued by the amount of studying and hard work, sleepless nights and the like you had to put up with, and would definitely be very proud of you. He’d be sure to tell you, too.

He would often ask if he could watch you examine, help and check up on any animals that you take in to help, and would ask if you would consider opening a cat shelter.

Someone help him, he needs to have a valid excuse to keep upwards of thirteen kitties in his wardrobe in his bedroom.

Once he runs out of space, he’s using yours; so beware!

As far as celebrations go, he goes all the way. All the way. We’re talking that infamous champagne tower (no knocking it over this time, though), chocolate fountains almost as tall as the ceiling… he goes all out. He’s so, so proud of you and feels some of his hope for humanity come back the more animals you help to heal and rehome.

Dark side of being a vet: when you have to euthanise a beloved pet, he’s there for you afterwards. It might be your job, but you’re only human and humans feel. It’s one of the things he loves the most about you - if demons can, indeed, love.

Healer - Severus Snape

As a Potions Master, his s/o being a Healer is terribly convenient. 

You naturally complement each other.

Severus supplies the Potions that you need to use during your sessions with patients, and in turn you make sure that Severus gets feedback on whether his prototype Potions work or not.

More often than not, they work better than expected and it’s a rush to get them patented.

He would love to watch you work. He’d love watching you eye your patients in much the same way as he eyes his potions while they’re in the most critical of brewing stages.

When you find out that you’ve been accepted onto a Healer scholarship, no one is prouder than Severus. Not even you. 

He would buy you your absolute favourite type of alcohol if you drink, the highest brand of your favourite treat (sweet or savoury), the latest book you’ve had your eye on… any of the above would he spoil you with, but at night… oh, at night… (next two headcanons are romantic but not sexual)

Arms wrapped tightly around you, lips at your temple. He is more affectionate with you in the nights after the announcement so that he can show you just how much he loves you. 

It’s both a reward for your extreme hard work and for himself. Severus needs to show you that though he is often cold at first glance, stiff, he is everything but.

Dark side of your profession - when someone dies. Severus is the first to know and he’s there right with you as soon as all is said and done.

For every one you lose, ten more survive and he’d make sure you focus on that. 

Forensics Doctor - Hannibae Lecter

You may not have the same sensitive nose that Hannibal has, but you can practically smell the pride coming off him when you tell him that you’re becoming a forensics doctor.

He already knew, of course, but out of respect for your feelings (it’s only polite, after all), and to see how long it would take you to tell him, Hannibal would wait.

He would use his bountiful connections (and money) to get you to where you want to be as quickly as you can. 

By the time he’s finished, you simply think you’ve flown through all the initial stages and that everything was really easy.

It wasn’t. You were shaky in some aspects, because of nerves, but people were too swayed by the money and by his name that they simply let you go through.

You only find out years later, when you are very comfortable in your profession, and you’re so angry it amuses Hannibal.

What’s done is done, however, and you only hope that future promotions are based on merit, not status.

Hannibal would celebrate the news with an extravagant dinner party if you’re one for the attention, or a simple home cooked dinner for the two of you and maybe some friends if you prefer to be out of the light. 

You’re ace, and so sex is off the table as far as rewards go, so Hannibal uses food, instead. Chocolate, especially, because it releases the same hormones as having sex does, just in smaller amounts.

As someone who carries out autopsies, you are going to see the absolute worst of humanity, the worst of tragedies. No one is unreachable by Death, who doesn’t discriminate.

Hannibal would hear through the grapevine when you need some extra attention at home because of this ^, and he’d be sure to greet you at the door with open arms and listening ears.

Summary: A few months have passed since the Avengers fought the Chitauri, and the team is coming together, except for Tony, who seems to be coming apart. At first, Steve assumes that he's just being irresponsible and annoying, but then JARVIS clues him in.

Fifth Time Lucky - by Arkada oneshot, fluff, this fic is short, sweet and a lot of fun. Well worth the read. Summary:  Tony Stark has five soulmates, but he gave up on finding any of them a long time ago.

Hide A Heart Of War - by RayShippouUchiha Tony Centric 2 chapter fic. Flower soul mark au. EXCELLENT ANGST.  Lots of feels, there’s also a slow burn romance in the background. Rhodey is a good bro. Loving all the descriptions of the soulmarks. Summary:  “You’ve got war in your heart boy,” Howard sneers, “don’t ever try and pretend to be anything but what you are.” Tony feels the familiar burn of a flower mark being etched into his skin but he doesn’t look, doesn’t try and check to see what it is. Instead he keeps his eyes on Howard and his hands cupped around his bleeding mouth and nose.

The (Not So) Great Pretender - by RayShippouUchiha Complete, secret identities, tony/bucky which i don’t usually ship but hey this author really makes it worth it. Oblivious Avengers. Hilarious but also angsty? Summary: Basically no one believes Tony when he tells them he’s Iron Man so he’s just... reluctantly keeping his secret identity going? It’s super funny.

To Victor Goes the Spoils - by tisfan Tony Stark/Victor von Doom, 10 chapters, complete, secret identities. Summary: In which Doom finds himself at a super hero masked ball... and gaining the attentions of the handsome and charming Tony Stark...Just one dance... just one kiss... before Doom unleashes his evil plot. Backstory: I accidentally stumbled on this doom x iron man fic so i thought i’d read it for laughs but then the fic itself was really good and I was suckered into shipping it. Now I’m in rarepair hell. The end. 

Iron Man Yes, Tony Stark...Not Recommended - by lilsmartass Gen. Complete. 9 chapters. Angst, lots of angst. Hurt/comfort. Unintentional bullying. Rhodey is the captain of the tony stark defence squad. AND HE WILL HAVE HIS REVENGE. Summary: Clint and Steve have both seen Natasha’s report on Tony and expect him to be a certain way. With Pepper now out of the picture, Bruce in India and Thor is Asgard they have no one to show them just how wrong first impressions can be.

That Which Kills Us - by Ironlawyer Ultimates!verse, steve/tony, oneshot, internalised homophobia, Tony is not a good patient. Summary: Sometimes Tony hates being alive as much as he hates dying. Trying to juggle duties to The Ultimates and a terminal illness isn’t exactly easy. Throw in an irate Steve Rogers and things just get too damn complicated.

Doomed To Failure - by DobbyRocksSocks Oneshot, excellent content, i read this fic and then i had to sit in my chair and be like ‘whoa’ for a while. This au is very well done! Summary: Everyone is born with their soulmate on one wrist, and their mortal enemy on the other. What do you do when it's the same person?

Say Goodbye to Yesterday - by melonbutterfly 4 chapter fic, complete, time loop, team building, alien invasion. time travel is a trope i keel over for this you must learn. Summary:  The day after the invasion Tony wakes up and his tower is intact again; everything is exactly the way it was before this whole mess went down. 

Don't Bet Against the House - by AlexTheShipper 2 chapter fic, complete, protective Jarvis, team dynamics, fluff Summary:  In which jokes about the arc reactor are not taken lightly, not by JARVIS who will never again sit trapped in his servers as someone attempts to kill Sir.

From A to Z - by Rachel500 26 chapter fic.Complete. Very very good, *sips fruit juice out of my champaigne glass* a classic of the genre! I’m a sucker for time travel as a trope, pair that with fixing the disaster that was the mcu chronology? BUDDY I’M SOLD.\ Summary: “OK, hypothetically, you get sent back in time one year. Does that make a difference?” Strange asked. “Two? Three? Could you live through the worst experience of your life again to preserve enough of the timeline to continue? Could you stand aside and let someone you love live through a bad experience in their life?” “OK. I get it. Bad idea.” Tony smirked at Strange to cover for his unease. “So. Plan B?” Strange grinned but there was a serious glint in his eyes. “How about we make it plan Z?”

Acceptable Risk Is Not - by izumi2 Super bamf tony, oneshot, Maria Hill redemption arc. Captain america the winter soldier. Not steve friendly but this can be blamed on the plot of the movie making zero sense with hindsight. Summary: what if someone considered an alternate solution to the data drop?  THIS IS ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVOURITE FICS FOR REASONS SO PLEASE TRY IT.

The Course of Reason - by Infie Oneshot, aftermath of captain america civil war, Carol Danvers is a relateable ho whom I stan, the saltiest of all possible responses to that film. YESSSS. This is it. The fic that finally knocked me over the edge onto the civil war team iron man side of the fence. BEHOLD. It’s greatness. Summary: The UN has asked Tony to discuss their options with the Fugitive Avengers. It does not go the way they expect it to.

Uncompromising Principles - by Kizmet 19 chapter fic, it’s completed and it’s very well done, legal drama, Tony/Pepper, Steve is... a good person who made mistakes, he’s trying anyway, i can’t say more without spoilers, but it’s A Ride, like you’ll read this and it’ll make you have Feelings and Thoughts and it’s very clever in how it goes about making those Feelings and Thoughts happen. Captain America: civil war aftermath fic. Summary: After leaving Siberia Captain America begins his plans to overturn the Accords. But not all is as it seems.Not compliant with the end of "Civil War".

To intervene - by apathyinreverie Currently at 15 chapters, ongoing, a lot of fun, tony stark has a heart, tony and rhodey, civil war team iron man, mutant kind, pro accords. Summary: The one where Rhodey stages an intervention after the whole Ultron fiasco.

Veni, Vidi, Amavi - by Maedlin Treat yo’self. It’s a Time travel fic. ONE OF THE BEST: Bamf Tony Stark, Bamf Jarvis, Palladium Poisoning, Complete, 26 chapter fic, but you’ll wish it was longer by the time you’re done. (Luckily there’s an ongoing sequel series to enjoy!) THIS FIC IS SUPREMELY GOOD! And HEAVY on the Jarvis love! DO YOURSELVES A FAVOUR AND TRY IT SERIOUSLY YOU WON’T REGRET READING THIS. Highest of recs goes to this. Summary:  (We came, we saw, we loved.) Tony's not the hero type. To suggest otherwise would be outlandish and fantastic, clearly.  Yet somehow, he's the one that's responsible for saving the universe. Now, he's a decade in the past. He's just revealed to the world he's Iron Man.  Tony finds himself facing dozens of old problems, and as time passes the ripple effect of his presence generates ever more new issues. All the while, the impending threat of Thanos looms ever-closer.

With One More Try (Can We Start Again) - by Infinite_Monkeys 5 Chapter fic, and it’s Completed. Time travel fix it, not strictly tony stark-centric but still a firm fave, A masterpiece. Definitely in my top 5 time travel fics and i’ve read a LOT so that’s saying something! Contains: That Good Loki Content. Summary: Loki's attempt to conquer Earth has, to his great dismay, succeeded spectacularly. When Thanos sends him to collect the Time Stone, he strikes a deal with the Stone's keeper: He'll be sent back to the beginning of the invasion, and this time, armed with knowledge about his opponents, he can lose properly. Or: a time loop fic in which Loki does increasingly desperate things to try and get the Avengers to defeat him already.

(Science) Bros before (HYDRA) Hoes - by Kizmet Tony is the captain of the Bruce Banner defence squad, Legal Shenanigans, It’s marked as Ongoing but what’s there is satisfying enough on its own I promise, basically a huge callout for Johannesburg, Hulk deserves a hug. Summary: The Hulk isn’t taken from the planet after AoU, there’s no one conveniently out of reach to take the fall for Johannesburg… A choice is going to have to be made: Wanda or the Hulk. 

A Larger Matter - by TheSovereigntyofReality Oneshot. Consequences! The ‘Steve’s blood’ scene in the agent carter tv show always pissed me off so this fic was uh Cathartic shall we say, but honestly you can read it and have it make perfect sense even without having seen the show, Howard Stark, teenaged Tony, Team Stark. Woohoo. Summary: When Peggy Carter tipped out Steve's blood, she had no idea the hornet's nest she just kicked.
