Shipping Headcanons, Pt II
Wolf and Leon starts off as trusted wingmates but that evolves very gradually over time.  Leon has a crush pretty early into Star Wolf forming.  At first, it’s a more aesthetic crush but as Wolf continues to prove himself a capable enough leader to keep them all alive even after the Lylat Wars ends, Leon starts to go from “I think he’s neat/cool/hot” to “I really, really like this guy”.  Wolf remains oblivious for a long time, right up until before the events of Assault.  He actually plans to turn Leon down for the sole purposes of “not getting attached to anyone” because of the nature of their jobs but he quickly realizes it’s too late for that and that he is already sorta attached. Their relationship becomes pretty passionate early on.  Leon has a tendency to crave physical intimacy, even in a nonsexual sense.  In public, it’s subtle things– a brief stroke of the arm, a fleeting kiss on the cheek– things people may not notice so easily.  They keep their romance quiet out of necessity-- they don’t want to be used against each other by any enemy rivals.  There’s few who are privy to knowing their relationship exists but it’s hard to miss their longing stares at each other when they’re in public.
Falco and Lucy starts through mutual heartbreak and awkwardness. It’s fairly well known that Lucy has a lot of Feelings about her father banning her from joining Star Fox. Seeing her friends leave her behind struck chords within her, doing some damage that she’s quite sure can’t be repaired fully. Falco, having come into the group after this, is an awkward subject at first. Initially, she hates him. She sees him as the person who took her spot. She avoids him. He notices. He doesn’t pry. It’s obvious what’s going on. When they fall for each other, it’s after Command. Lucy is a woman who constantly held back on her raging emotions and Falco is the first one to let her know it’s okay to express them. She finally breaks free from that mask she put herself in. They start to meet up on occasion.  And then it becomes more and more frequent.  They don’t tell anyone.  Not for a long time.  Lucy is the firecracker of the two.  When she’s passionate, she’s passionate all the way.  There’s no half-measures with her, and that’s something Falco learns over time.  Her emotions are big but they don’t drive him off.  There’s a lot of mutual understanding to be found in the things that drive them.  And that connection fosters a healthy relationship where they never fear being misunderstood.  Not anymore, at least.
Miyu and Fay are rivals, both vying for a spot on the Star Fox team. Miyu is a veteran CDF pilot (that hails from a family of farmers) that fought in the aparoid invasion. Fay is a mysterious applicant, hailing from an unknown family with very evident status. They clash immediately, generalizing each other based off of their heritage. It takes time but they begin to realize there’s more to the other than meets the eye. Rivalry turns to fondness. Fondness turns to romance. Miyu takes on the role of a protector to Fay after seeing how naive she can be about the world around her.  But Fay is a headstrong young woman so… those two mentalities eventually collide.  But in general, they’re opposites that attract in the most beautiful way, introducing each other to their hobbies and forming a bond filled with laughter and love.

what do you think the sf team does in their free time? like... when they have a "day off" and get to relax? ♥️🐦
You ask me this and you don’t specify which generation of the team. SMH. Lmao I know you meant the current main one but I feel the need to kinda explore a little with all three gens? Let’s see how this goes.
Star Fox 1st Generation: (of note, it’s interesting how all of them but Pigma had established families)
James McCloud - Smoker, suave, not as energetic as his wigmate, Peppy. And yet, he had enough in him to keep following his friend around. But honestly, James interested were more quiet and work oriented. A workaholic. Mind always on the team and the responsibilities he took on. Almost a complete perfectionist with a calming nature. His hobbies outside of work were few, and most were made with spending time with Peppy, Beltino, Pigma, the Greys and their families. Forming a taste for alcoholic beverages with Peppy, and appreciating the retro military look of space ships with Pigma, and the techno babbles of Beltino. Honestly, it still surprises him that he was able to find a wonderful wife in the end considering how work oriented he was, and focused. Vixy was possibly the only thing that kept him focused outside of work the most until she passed away. Then it was just Fox. And their times together were mostly focused on military history, documentaries, a continuous path of learning and studying. It was fulfilling and relaxing for James.
Peppy Hare - A much younger Peppy would be a spry little thing. More in shape, physically stronger and beaming to high heavens. And of course, a young husband and father like James. For his free time, besides catching up with the Toads and the Greys, Peppy would usually just spend time with Vivian and little Lucy. Before them, he was mostly into bar hopping with James around Corneria’s capital. Dancing with the single ladies and flirting. He was much better at it than James, honestly. He’s also a really good dancer. But once he tied the knot with Vivian and had Lucy, his world became just the two of them outside of work. He’d take them to picnics and spoil both with flowers and stories and nothing but his time to give to them. He’d even read his newspaper out loud so Lucy would know what the subjects were. She loved the voices he’d make. His family was everything…
Pigma Dengar - First time I’m thinking about this fool before he went to the dark side. And honestly, I can easily see him being more relaxed on his own. In the hangar after a hard day’s work upgrading Arwings with Beltino’s help. A good pack of cigarettes, a deck of cards, a handful of dice or maybe online gaming to keep his mind off things. Hell, I still see him being the kind of guy that would sit down with the kids and show them how to gamble honestly. Fox, Lucy, Slippy and Bill… And both Bill and Lucy remember the nasty little betting tricks too. Pigma was very much into gambling and taking bets on his off time too. He would get a lot of money, lose a lot of it, but in the early stages, it calmed him. Working on older models of ships helped him too. It’s rather unfortunate that this is where Lucy got some of her fascination for old model space ships, because of the magazines and books Pigma would let her look at. Modding was a big part of his younger life and he enjoyed that before joining the team. It… went away when things got worse.
Beltino Toad - I headcanon that, even if Beltino wasn’t part of the team, he was still a very important external force that helped out a lot. Especially with Pigma. So I will count him into my headcanon piece. He’s into making little machine toys. Like making little machine creatures and devices. To him, it keeps his mind sharp and there is always a new project on his table to go home to that isn’t an all consuming one. In fact, it’s one he could share with Slippy when he was old enough to walk. It helped with the two of them bonding and getting into other geeky stuff. Hell, Beltino was the type of father that would get into anything Slippy wanted to get into, so after that, he was a goner. Trading card games to video games, even modding them on the computer and making his own became his hobby as much as Slippy’s. In a way, spending time with his family was his way to relax.
Star Fox 2nd Generation:
Fox McCloud - I see Fox as being rather similar to his father in many ways. At first, he didn’t have as many hobbies that were formed on his own. Most of them were things he got into with his friends, Slippy, Bill and Lucy. With Slippy, he actually tried watching some of the cartoons but instead he was into more live action fighters (similar to Power Rangers). And with Lucy, he got into model kits of space ships. He has a few still. Whereas with Bill, he got into sports like baseball and handball. Hell, all four of them were into playing against each other in any game. But once his father died, Fox became more sullen and quiet. His interests were more work focused with the occasional gaming with Slippy. His shell started to break after the war however. So gaming is something he’s into now, as well as reckless space racing which, much to Peppy’s dismay, is something he got into with Falco. And meditation. That he learned with Krystal.
Falco Lombardi - This bird has no chill. Joking, he does. Falco’s free time is dictated by what he feels like doing. Besides trying to not be the worst gamer in the team–and that doesn’t exactly relax him at all but he keeps doing it. But what he does enjoy is watching cartoons with Slippy. Funny enough, they both have an unofficial established bond over ‘anime’ series such as Dino Ball Z and Sailor Papetoon. Something about the sailors legs, man… Ahem. But out of everything, Falco is into anything that will give him a sudden rush. Flying for any reason, races, pushing his own limits in the cockpit. And outside of his Arwing, well… Falco is reckless due to him wanting that rush continuously. From bar fights to even amusement park rides. Not the best of hobbies, to want to feel the danger behind his actions, but it’s something he became addicted to in a way. Staying cooped up somewhere will only make him more aggressive due to ‘my thoughts won’t stop, I need to drown them’ so he needs to keep moving.
Peppy Hare - In comparison to his younger self, a much older Peppy is much more sullen. Quiet, always looking after the younger team. His free time is usually dictated by what he needs to show them–trying to find the patience to guide them when anything sparks off. But when things are quiet, he finds himself mostly contacting old friends such as Beltino and Pepper, especially after Vivian passed away. Sometimes he’d contact Lucy, ask her how the cadets are doing, how she is doing. However such things aren’t as often as him sitting down with either Fox or Falco to chat with them. And even then, strangely, he seems to bond a little more with Falco at times, taking the time to pry open the avian. Why? Just a hunch. They have quite a bit in common without either of them knowing. He’s also very much fond of tea. Don’t bitch at him about his leaf water, leave him be!!
Slippy Toad - Listen here. Slippy is a bucket of hobbies. When he’s not working on machinery, making new inventions for his team, guess what he’s doing? This guy is making games on his computer for fun, testing them with Falco on the side (because he knows the difficulty curve Falco secretly needs to get shit done in a game, and if Falco is able to complete a task, the games is way too easy). When not making or playing games, he is having forum/server discussions with some of his online friends about cartoons and shows he’s into. He will actually share this with Falco a lot if it’s something the avian is into as well. He will also get into online trading card games and goes into bidding wars over certain real cards that are mega vintage. He also has a toy figure collection he keeps around in his dorm on the Great Fox (most of them are at home with his dad though). He’s also into music. All of the music that slaps in the Great Fox? That’s all Slippy. Bless him. Lastly, one more thing. He owns a ukelele. He knows how to play it. That is actually the mostly relaxing thing he can do for himself when he does feel absolutely anxious. Just sit somewhere quiet, away from everyone and string away.
Krystal - She’s a bit more simple in comparison. Used to living on her own in the wilderness, most of her free time consists of returning to Sauria to help restore the planet as much as she can. Empathy work is also something she truly enjoys doing when the recipient permits her to do so. So far, Fox and Slippy permitted her to work on some of their mental wounds. And yes, taught Fox how to meditate and relax in the silence as she found out Fox was never comfortable being alone. Out of the entire team, she’s possibly the one that’s most comfortable being herself.
Star Fox 3rd Generation:
Marcus McCloud - Unlike his father and his grandfather, Marcus is actually much more active when it comes to fun. A bit of a sports jock when in school and the Academy, he very much enjoys exercise to keep himself in shape and to keep his mind off things that can get under his skin. He enjoys gaming as well, but nothing compares to Skipper and Abby. Still better than Falco though, lmao.
Abigail Hare - Possibly the edgiest out of the team. She’s into reading books because of her mother, Lucy, and most of them are dark and spooky. Why? No dad, it’s not a phase. She also enjoys cartoons and is into retro space ships like Lucy (and got to drag her father into it as well). Now, the one thing her and her little brother, Valentino Hare, share in hobbies is that they both are actual super into healthy foods. This is mostly due to the shared rabbit disease passed down by mothers in Vivian’s bloodline. After Lucy passed away, Falco helped his kids to get into a much better diet and it became a shared thing between all three.
Skipper Toad - The oldest of the Toad siblings. He had to fight his way to stay relevant and boy, he’s merciless when it comes to his energy. Non stop, naturally caffeinated young man. From video games to schematics for lunch, to learning how to hack into different systems and databases to get information in a more proactive manner, he’s pretty much into many things that keeps him busy all the time.
Falco Lombardi - Like Peppy, he’s much older now, mellowed out, widower and a father of two. Abigail is his oldest, Valentino is his youngest (and that one stays on Corneria under the watchful eye of General Peppy). Ever since Lucy passed on, he’s been much more attached to his kids than ever, constantly checking on Valentino while with the team, and making sure the new team is able to stand on it’s own two feet. He finds it amusing how he’s the ‘gramps’ now, even though he still gets guidance from Peppy along the way. Sometimes Fox as well, but most of their conversations are just casual updates on how the new generation is doing. Honestly, he’s still kind of reckless, mostly to keep Marcus on his toes and to teach Abigail how to fly much better than what the Academy taught her. Honestly, the new team itself is his free time. He’d trade his place in there for nothing in the universe.

Shameful,
Oh man it has been so long since I came here, I forgot it, remembered and forgot again then it was like I alredy missed so much might as well skip an other, but now I am at the point I arraive every time feeling lost and with out a good direction or momentum.
and remember why I have been doing this,
yes it is going to be a mess and yes I am fu** tiered and not sure what gona do,
life is like a crooked car or a boat, if left to its own it drifts away, it always in need of corection, the more frequent the corection the smaller it is, but if you correct it once in a blue moon you undutably need to life crises.
the thing is sometimes you do even know you are not correcting yourself and think you are on the right path but accualy just moving with the wind.
I don't think that is necesary bad it is what it is I just saying, but writing this I realised I did not say any thing new its the old saying the unexamined life is not worth living I am sure a wise guy said that can't remember at the moment who he was and if I search it at the moment I will end up in a rabbit whole and never do this, you have the same accses to the web as me do it yourself.
I cant understand so much things in life, two months ago I had a life crisies I still have I can't understand it, maybe I am not understanding it right but quantum phisics fucked my mind, I cant wrap my head around it. maybe I just not have what it takes to unerstand it or maybe it is just so rediculus nobody acctualy knows. because there is a diffrence knowing what happens and knowing why it is happening. so ok we know they are entanglet but how are they? and with what? maybe there is a dimension to the problem we are not seeing(pun intented)
"I don't know" was, and is still my all time most used phrase, maybe I am growing old but the more I learn the less I know and I know that curve where the less you know the more you think you know, and the more you know the less you think you know, google it if yu want the name, well maybe I am exprincing that never knew you can observ it in your self to include the subject of existing.
but I am rambiling.
yes I had so much to pour out, I need someone to explain to me the entangelment thing. but apart from that. I am feeling realy lost betteewn 2015-2020 i had a 5 year plan to what do and what I need to work on and yes I did not do half maybe, or maybe I did more. but the fact that I had a set of targets that I would look to when I feel like not on the right track or don't know what to do I would search them and see yes I had this in mind, look this I did it and did not even realize I got there. that grownded me. and 2020 came between covid and everything I skipped it, I can blame it all on covid, yes covid happened but playing that card has a precident which is much harder to shake of. but yes I had this goal list, I saw I did not achive everything I set out to achive and decided that it was not working whene in fact it may not have had a 100% succses rate, even if it was a 50% succes rate, that list halped me keep on track to achive that 50%
i trough away a system that was working, it just needed some updating, now it is already 2022 and the 2020-2025 list is still not started. and this is a falucy I am comiting at the moment nobody said it has to be on the multiples of 5 and nobody said that doing a 3 year list is not still usefull.
between the two I prefer to keep the multipl of five thing it is more easy to keep track subconisly, and a 3 year plan is stil a useful plan to have, when doing it I will have to keep in mind it is less but not achiving everything is not an issuse as suggested before.
so now what I will be thinking about for the next week is me of 2025 who do I want him to be?
it is hard planning around some else. but is is something we will need to learn.
no proof reading on just beacuse 😋

July 2017 Album of the Month: Sadistik “Altars”
By Chad Thomas Carsten – 5/5 Dragons READ MORE ARTICLES, INTERVIEWS  & MORE
Original Source: @vandalamagazine https://vandalamagazine.com/2017/06/12/album-review-sadistik-altars-hip-hoppsychedelic/

Sadistik is back rather quickly with another beast of an album (released through Equal Vision Records) but this time it’s a psychedelic hip-hop horror show simply titled “Altars”. “Altars” showcases Sadistik musical growth as an artist with his astonishing wordplay and lyrically haunting subject matter that harks back to the glory days of Edgar Allan Poe, Lucio Faluci, and H.P. Lovecraft.
youtube
The production found within the record will indeed have sober listeners convinced they’re experiencing a heavy hallucinogenic trip because the beats are extremely trippy to the point that the founders of lysergic acid diethylamide, Timothy Leary and Albert Hoffman, would probably think the producer was in a deep hallucinogenic state when finding the sounds for Altars. Yes, the production is that tripped out, but that’s the beauty of what developed into pure originality. No other hip-hop record can compete towards the production of “Altars”.
Slowly over the years, the Seattle-based emcee’s music has drifted into a territory that’s  smothered in darkness and it’s a brilliant move on Sadistik’s part. It’s a perfect match made in hell and proves the rapper needed to be heard on this dark level to help improve on his lyrical skill and it works by giving his career more substance! The lyrical content featured is Mr. Foster shedding his emotional struggles through the mic and at the same time challenging organized religion. “Cotards Syndrome” sounds like it belongs in a snuff film thanks to it’s slow looming, dreary production, while the track “Free Spirits” will have listeners embarking on their own spiritual journey to conquer their personal psychological scars. This record might be aimed at the Gothic crowd, but hip-hop listeners worldwide who are craving for something new and thrilling inside a rap record then “Altars” is what you’re exactly looking for!

parallels:
I had been yelling at @out-of-this-dimension about their latest drabble, and we’re both having a chat about the Hare family and it dawned on me something that I truly didn’t notice until that moment:
If you really think about it, considering Peppy’s distance to his family, hardly ever hearing about them until (and only) Star Fox Command... Peppy is actually very much like Falco.
OMG how?! WHY?! Am I full of shit?? Well, isn’t that what analysis, theories and speculation is? Anyway, consider this.
Peppy never mentions his family ever. Gotta wonder why he never does in any of the games. If anything, he always keeps repeating things James said to Fox, guiding the new team more than focusing on his own life. And it got me thinking if it’s because Peppy just feels like he’s doing what he has to, to keep those he loves the most protected. And in doing that, staying away from them to make sure they aren’t also targeted. Like Vixy was in James case.
And maybe it’s easier for Peppy to just not think about them, never bringing Vivian and Lucy up, because what can he do? All he can do is make them and himself suffer. Stay away to keep them safe.
That’s when I realized that Falco did that too with Katt in Farewell, Beloved Falco. Kept his distance. Keeping her safe. He also tried disconnecting from Star Fox and it’s speculated why, but what if it’s because he felt too attached to them and staying away felt like a better idea at the time?
It seems like they have similar thought patterns in terms of dealing with loved ones and negative feelings. But Peppy found a way to channel some of his grief with Fox--and through Fox. Whereas Falco is mostly just barely learning to accept his own feelings by the end of Assault.
This isn’t counting that Peppy might have been James’ ace pilot, like Falco is Fox’s--and Falco eventually being the senior member in the 3rd generation Star Fox team with Marcus McCloud. Also the nagging versus the hot headed bitching--ahem.
So now I know why in my Falucy writings, Peppy isn’t fond of the idea of Falco getting closer to Lucy. It’s not the criminal records, the many times Falco showed his recklessness. No. It’s because he knows Falco could hurt her in similar ways he did. The flights to get away from negative emotions, or just to protect her when he should just stay near her.
It’s an honest fear Peppy has. Even if he lost touch with his daughter, he still tries to protect her.

A brief headcanon about Abigail Hare:
Tumblr media
Peppy’s granddaughter, the one on the far right? Yeah, that girl right there. Her dad is the dude on the far left. Yep. Falco Lombardi is her dad. Main reason Falco rejoins the new team is to keep an eye on her.
Besides being bored out of his skull and needing something to do that isn’t strictly military related.

Jealousy:
As I am also here adding a few thoughts, I wanted to truly go down the rabbit hole that is jealousy and some portrayals I have seen that can rub me off the wrong way but also intrigues me when it happens.
Ever since this question popped up (and seeing a comment on one of my crossover drawings), I’ve been sort of thinking over my responses to these sorts of reactions and how I picture them playing out if ever. Or if the idea would even be a possible one.
What I’m getting at is... The portrayal of jealousy being charming or adorable or played off as something minimal seems to always bother me as someone that does suffer from it. It’s not charming, in fact, it makes me feel horrible most of the time.
As an artist, when I’m aware that I’m jealous, I can barely look at certain artists accomplishments or even their art because I know they are better and I wished that were me sometimes--I see myself as lesser than them.
As an rper, I am a very jealous when I see duplicate muses or some of my friends rping with others and talking about their experiences with others. And I unconsciously compare myself to everyone and everything in those situations and always see myself losing.
As a friend, I am jealous when I hear about my friends having fun without me, not inviting me because I’m busy and not available. Then I feel alone and I wished I was out there. And my mind runs out it’s own and it makes everything worse.
This isn’t even mentioning how jealousy can be when it comes to romantic relationships. Like envy, it’s a corrosive sentiment that can spread and glue itself to many aspects of your life, and can be made worse if you are an anxious person, or stressed, or depressed.
So imagine being someone that is in love or has a crush on a person. And that person has had relationships with others, or could have had it with someone else, or is flirty just by nature, and your mind just runs with what ifs and what abouts and in the end...
Am I good enough to be next to this person?
Jealousy is a deep reflection of how you can feel absolutely inferior to someone or something else. It’s deeper than a charming quirk someone might possess because it’s not charming. It’s like acid. It stains, marks, scars, destroys whatever it touches. In art, it can halt your progress, make you feel like giving up. Same with rping, undoing the hard work you put into stuff. And you can lose friendships due to jealousy, shoving you deeper into loneliness and reconfirming your self made prophecy of unworthiness. I’m sure you can picture what it can be like is a loving relationship. Doubts, breaking of trust, anger that isn’t cute no, it’s self destructive and if not addressed, can lead to break ups or divorce.
Now, I’m not saying that it’s bad to use it. Hell no! Fuck I use it all the time for my interpretations and I love exploring each aspect of it. It’s something I definitely explore with Falco Lombardi and Lucy Hare as they both have very different reasons to be jealous. One is a fascinating loner ace pilot that feels the need to prove himself at every turn, attaches himself to a small group of people and doesn’t seem to always overcome his own jealousy and over protectiveness of them until much later. And the other is the daughter of the senior pilot that has dreams and hopes quickly crushed and destroyed by those she loved and left to be alone for the longest time as the rest of her family, friends and even someone she had a crush on moved on without her. It shows the different sides of such a horrible feeling that can be formed for good reasons as well as bad ones.
It shows how vulnerable they are. How flawed.
I guess my umbrage with some portrayals is the whole minimization of the sentiment. Because if ignored or shrugged off, it could lead to more serious situations.
In the end, do as you please. Just keep in mind that this is a very tricky emotion to grapple and can make other people feel a certain way because it effects so many of us in different ways.

BOUNCING OFF THE ASK I ANSWERED rant about [pairing] FOR FALUCY? TY ILY 💕💕
SHIP ASKS:
TW: Death, depression, suicidal ideation.
Can it be a good rant? Because let me tell you something...
Out of all the female characters that Star Fox had, for some reason, I fell hard for Lucy Hare back in 2010. Why? I have no idea. All I know is that playing Star Fox Command made me adore her more than I should. And of course, seeing as Falco is my big favorite in the entire series, I wanted to ship them. But at the time I had no idea how to--I was also not as active in the RP community then so most of it were skin deep ideas and maybes.
Until I jumped in deep back in the end of 2018.
You see... I made a Lucy Hare Rp blog and I went deep into Lucy’s character and headcanons. Her history, her motives, etc. And a lot of my headcanons for Vivian Hare comes from Immy’s version of Vivian so shout outs for her. Anyway, I started to think about Lucy’s past and her relationship to the Star Fox team and it occured to me that Lucy would have been introduced to Falco when she was 16, a year before the war. And there was absolutely no romantic interest between the two. Falco was new and super awkward around everywhere and probably not exactly all that friendly at first. And Lucy? She was fucking salty. Salty like the depths of the Dead Sea. Why?
BECAUSE FALCO TOOK HER SPOT IN THE TEAM.
Peppy and Fox denied her entry to the Star Fox team because, well, Peppy didn’t want to lose his daughter, and she was too young, and Vivian needed someone to help her around. So Lucy was stuck and incredibly sour about it--the reject, so to speak. But she never said anything to Falco. Instead she just forced a smile, being daddy’s and mommy’s good little girl.
Be the good girl.
Dealing with the war, protecting her mother, dealing with her strong crush to Fox because of course she would have a crush on Fox. They were inseparable as kids, why wouldn’t she have a crush on him? Why wouldn’t she be hopeful of being his right hand pilot, or even a strategist. Go to the Academy, be a team with Slippy and Bill like they always dreamed of! She didn’t expect James to ever die and change her father’s mind, or for Fox to break his promise... For things to change.
Finishing the Academy after the war, graduating as a pilot, but decides to go to college afterwards because, well... She didn’t want anything to do with piloting. Her heart broke. So Astrophysics it was. She’s very smart, but of course being rejected stung enough that it did make her question if this was what she really wanted to do.
It didn’t matter, do what you can. Keep an eye on mother. They survived the war, Peppy was out there with Fox still. They’ll be back soon. They’d be able to talk about stuff and she’d feel better.
Thing is, Peppy hardly returned home at all. Answered calls less and less, trying to maintain the Great Fox together was the lack of jobs was increasing. And Lucy was feeling too numb to even have a reaction--as her mother was slowly wasting away. You see, Vivian has a rare rabbit disease that usually affects the females of the family. She’d slowly lose feelings and become paralyzed. It got worse after the war. Lucy was taking care of Vivian up until they moved her to the hospital.
Soon, Vivian could only breathe because the machines manually did it for her. Lucy was too numb to care about her father. When she finally reached him, it was an emergency call. Dad, she’s gone.
You see...
The second time Lucy met Falco, was during Vivian Hare’s funeral. Lucy was emotionless, possibly perceived strong, but she had cried her eyes out before hand. Whereas everyone comforted Peppy instead. The rabbit was devastated. Falco mostly kept to himself, silent as well. There was nothing to really talk about. He... wasn’t good with grief. He wasn’t good with loss.
It scared him.
A year after this happened, Falco left the team, and Lucy graduated from college and left Corneria for an Academy job on Fichina. there was nothing but silence and cold from all corners fr a long time. And Lucy kept tabs on the team, hoping maybe one day she’d get closer to them but understood her father’s reluctance about the subject. Give it time, he was grieving too.
So Lucy became accustomed to the frigid world of Fichina. The underground city layout due to the intense weather it had. The lack of sun. The rising rates of depression and ideation, limited resources because everything needed to be imported, and her having only so many cadets interested in her subject despite it being important. They wanted to fly, not study. Slowly, her heart was very limited. Her smile plastered on to hide the fact that she was still hurt and a little angry.
And one day, she calls in to her father and finds out that Falco returned and that they also had a new member to the Star Fox team that would be taking his place. Oh? Yes. Meet Krystal.
....oh....
Someone that had no Academy training, someone that had no prior history with flying, someone that has no connections to the team until recently... Someone that she was presented to and said that adored Peppy as though he were her own father. To Lucy, it was like tearing open so many old scars, letting the wounds fester. Especially when she saw the dreamy look on Fox’s face. The smiling look on Peppy’s face.
...I see.
Be the good girl.
Smile. Be supportive. Be happy that her father would soon be retiring. That they would... have a good pilot. That they were getting back on their feet again and quickly hired on to chase Andrew’s Rebellion that was quickly rising. Smile through the coming months of constant worry ad waiting for the retirement to come--soon she’d finally have her father closer to her. Hopefully. Smile as the Aparoids attacked Fichina, putting many lives in jeopardy. Smile as Peppy never answered her calls.
Smile when Fox finally contacts her, explaining what happened after they invaded the Aparoid home world, how Peppy almost lost his life.
Enough.
Lucy broke. She shrieked. Fox never saw his childhood friend hold so much fury before. None of the team did. Not even Peppy. Not even when Lucy was rejected to be part of the team. It lead them to visit Fichina and let Lucy confront her father, convincing him to finally retire. He was left there by the team and Lucy finally had him close to her for once.
Only for a few months however. General Pepper had chosen Peppy to take his place. Good things only lasted for a little while. The Star Fox team also broke apart yet again. It was funny how bitterness could bring Lucy and Krystal together as friends. Even if it was skin deep, Lucy still appreciated the vulpine. Funny how only then, when Fox was trying to set records straight with Star Wolf, dealing with the Anglar rising did Lucy finally get a chance to spread her wings and defend her new home. Fight along side the remains of what was the Star Fox team. Again, good things only lasted for a while.
Slippy was engaged ad about to marry in a few weeks. Soon after, so was Fox and Krystal. The team was dismantling for good. Fox’s wedding was the confirmation of his decision. A peace well needed for the family, or so, Lucy hoped. Despite the fury she spat at the team about Peppy almost dying, she never got the chance to truly say what she felt. To spill all the poison she had. And it felt as though, when James died, her world just broke apart as well. She lost her own father due to an all consuming guilt that was too focused and forgetful and selfish.
Seeing Peppy walk Krystal down the aisle to Fox was a reminder of that. A punch to the gut. So much Lucy hoped for, hoping she’d be accepted or seen, she’d been ignoring her own chances to be happy. Spent a while life waiting for a father or a glance her way from a team that really didn’t do the same. Why should they? She was never meant to be part of them. The wedding just made everything around Lucy break the bits of hope she had, realizing that... she waited for nothing really. She’d go back home to a frigid rock and she’d be there, waking up to the cold sunless planet, with cadets that didn’t care much about her classes and a father that was barely there for her.
And she didn’t want to go back. Honestly she didn’t want to go on. During the wedding reception, Lucy quietly left on foot. She even smiled when no one noticed when she was gone. No one texted her on her phone. No one called her. 30 minutes, a walk from the celebration hall to a long lonely bridge. Shoes off, climbing up the railing. Take in the rushing river, the moon, the wind that made her aqua dress move like waves. No one would notice, really.
Desperation was funny like that. A moment of weakness.
‘I don’t get how you’re not cold. The metal’s freezing to me.’
Falco leans up against the railing next to her, surprising her. Soon, both of them were watching the moonlight as she talked to her. Possibly the first real conversation they truly had. Lucy was stunned to notice that he had noticed her leave quietly. How?
‘You had that look on your face. The kind your dad had when your mom passed away. Just no crying.’
Lucy asked how did he know. How could he know what was going through her mind? To him, it was easy only because... he was feeling it too. When Lucy had chances to become something else, Falco really had none of that. No family to return to, no real drive to find another purpose. Flying is all he’s good at and the Star Fox team was all he really had. It was home. A family. That was now gone. It also didn’t help that he also had a thing for Fox. He lost that too because he was a fool. He left when he shouldn’t have.
This sort of confession was something Lucy needed to hear. To pull her out of herself and not focus so much on what she lost. It was enough to make her regret what went through her mind when she climbed the railing of the bridge. And Falco helped her down.
‘I don’t want to go back there.’
‘That’s fine, I don’t want to either. I ain’t about formal stuff.’And he was glad Lucy laughed at that. ‘How ‘bout we cross the rest of the bridge and go downtown? Downtown Corneria doesn’t sleep and we’re dressed up anyway.’
Lucy accepts, brushing the tears away from her smudged make up and taking his offered hand. Shoes back on, wristlet in hand, they crossed the bridge, leaving behind an episode in their lives and starting a new one.
Who knows.
Might lead to something so much better.

Can we get more of your headcanons for Falco and Lucy’s relationship? Pleeeease? With sugar on top?
Hello anon, I know I’m a bit late with these and I hope you don’t mind. I would prefer specific answers but I’ll try and add a few headcanons I have since I started shipping these two.
When Lucy was planning to be part of the Star Fox team as a teen, it had been agreed upon that she would in fact join by Fox and Slippy. To a point that when the new scarves and patches were ordered, Lucy kept one of each for when she graduated the Academy and everyone was fine with that.
Until James was killed and everything just fell apart. Lucy was still hopeful, even after the rejection because Fox and Peppy couldn’t fill up the 4th seat in the team and they didn’t want to invite Bill as he was already shipping out to Katina. Suddenly, Vivian comes to Lucy and states that Fox found a new team member and they were processing him through Cornerian authorities. Which was... not exactly the best sign in Lucy’s opinion because it meant that there was something in the pilot’s record that was unsavory.
And when Vivian and Lucy went to the space docks, they ended up meeting Falco, who just got his entire criminal record expunged due to the war. Lucy was pure salt. The team basically brought him in to get his uniform ordered and ready, and Vivian was going to help as the team’s funds was basically null.
And Lucy knew exactly what that meant.
Lucy refused to leave her room once Vivian convinced her to give up the scarf and patches she saved for herself. She was in tears because it was the last bit of hope she had in joining. It was taken from her, taken to the shop to have Falco’s name stitched on both. So basically, he flew around with the scarf and patches that were meant for her all along, but Falco had no idea this was the case until after he comes back from his 4 year break. The scarf was in tatters.
So when he visited Fichina for the first time with the team after his break, Lucy basically snatched it away and fixed it out of quiet fury because that was her scarf. That was meant to be hers. And Krystal being around didn’t make it any better because Lucy was being hurt all over again, reminded that she wasn’t good enough to be part of the team, but a new good looking vixen was.
Falco was pissed that she took the scarf until Slippy pulled him aside and explained why he needed to let it go.
“It was hers before it was yours.”
“...Wait, seriously?”
“Yeah. Before Fox’s dad died, we all had promised to be a team. Fox, me, Bill and Lucy. But things changed I guess.”
“No shit...”
When the scarf was returned, Falco would take better care of it--considering their uniforms changed after his return, his old uniform was stored in his Arwing, which will explain why he still had it after the Aparoid Invasion. He’s kinda proud of that. The rest of the team sort of needed to order new uniforms. And later on, Falco would be able to return to scarf back to Lucy.

How would Peppy and the rest of the Star Fox Team react to finding out Falco and Lucy have a thing going on? Does Peppy go all protective Papa Bun? Does Fox get concerned considering a teammate is dating someone who might as well be his sister?
Now this is an interesting question since the reaction would really depend when and why they got together--yes I have other ideas on how they would get together and I would love to explore them eventually. But I’ll be going off this whole post since it’s the one I work with the most.
Consider two very important things: Peppy is now General Hare. One of the highest figures in Corneria’s military. And Fox is now a retired, experienced mercenary and war veteran, wildly recognized by elitist military circles (popularly, not as famous as the common celebrity but he does hold some kind of fame).
Consider another thing: Falco goes back to his old ways, just barely staying out of trouble because it’s Falco. He won’t stay still for one second. So that criminal record might be looking kinda stained. Again.
Consider one more thing: Falco does not have a steady job or even a house to his name. Don’t ask him about his bank account, there’s cash in there but he will not tell you how much it’s not your damn business. Is it legal cash? Well it was legally deposited in his account if that’s what you want to know. Don’t give me that look, I’m clean. Leave me the fuck alone Fox, I know what I’m doing!!
So imagine a responsible Lucy Hare indeed hooking up with Falco after everything that was said and done, keeping it only between the two because, honestly, they have no idea what’s happening just that... something is happening. The escapes from formal military gatherings, or secret little get aways they do together because Falco likes the look of pure excitement in Lucy’s eyes when she finally gets to be--DO--what she always wanted to.
Lucy had diamonds in her eyes every time.
How Peppy would find out, I’m not entirely sure but after so many sneak aways and cancellations with Falco being present in Corneria and also making frequent visits and stays in Fichina, surely he’d suspect.
One night, Falco and Lucy do sneak away from a formal gathering. Lucy actually meets Falco’s old gang. Has incredible fun speaking with Katt and Kool. Gets a little too drunk and our avian boy needs to take her home, make sure she’d be fine and not throw up.
You’re not used to drinking this much huh?
I held on for longer than you assumed I would!
But you’re still pretty drunk, ma’am.
Don’t ma’am me you--
Lays sits her down on her bed in her home. No, not Peppy’s home. This was her childhood home she inherited from her mother. Peppy had the keys but did not live there anymore. Her room was still the same. Twin bed, rockets and space ships and pinks and stars on the ceiling. Lucy apologizes for being such a horrid pain for the team. Falco mentions that it’s fine. She’s fine.
I took your place. I get why you were mad at me.
She kisses him. He kisses back before pulling away. No, not good. Go to bed. You need to sleep. I’ll be here in the morning. And Falco just crashes on her coach in the living room. He snores a little. Not loud. But enough for a pair of grey ears to hear when the door is unlocked. Then slammed shut.
Falco wakes up with a start and aims his blaster at the intruder who was, in fact, Peppy. Silent realization and... Yeah. Falco knew what would come next. Get dressed, get up, don’t wake her up. Leave the home with the old man. There was a level of respect still between the two. Peppy had been the fatherly figure of the team. But something felt different when Peppy closed the door behind them once in the General’s office. Take a seat. No questions of intentions, not even a good morning or a greeting. Peppy was not happy. A warning instead popped out of the rabbit’s mouth.
Do not come close to my daughter again.
Falco was very aware at that point that... Peppy was not seeing him as a teammate anymore. Much less a son-like figure. Merely... Eyes glanced down to files and files, all on him and his past activities and... Oh. I get it. ...I get it.
Do you understand?
Yes, sir.
But understanding did not mean he’d comply. You see, I headcanon Falco was brought into the team under very special circumstances. He was blackmailed when he was caught by Fox. Either join the team and be our pilot for the war, or go to jail and live out your sentence. Of course Falco took the first option. Now... Falco was face to face with a silent threat again. General Pepper was willing to expunge crimes for quality pilots as long as they fought for the Cornerian forces. Peppy would easily make Falco’s life a living hell if he did not comply.
Would Peppy go through with it. Falco didn’t believe so, but there was a level of threat he didn’t want to fully ignore. So for a while, he did stay away. Didn’t answer Lucy’s texts or calls. Until he had time to carefully think about what he really wanted to do.
And honestly, Peppy only fueled the fire to Falco’s motivation to, finally, pursue.
Lucy wakes up to a message, asking if she’d like to hang out again.
And one night it goes somewhere. They don’t stop it. Why stop something they both wanted. Follow their instincts, right? And yes, Falco knew he was in deep trouble the next day. He knew deep down to the marrow of his bones. It’s not like Lucy wouldn’t realize that she was also stepping into something unstable. So her worries increased as well. And it was no real secret that Peppy was looming over them somehow.
An over protective father that only had her left...
But he was also an absent father in Lucy’s opinion.
Fuck it.
Don’t stop.

Pool ( Falco / Lucy )
one word prompt:
.pool
Whatever prudence she had was quickly flung out of a window when the night before she dared Falco to think of something daring for them to runaway to. Formal gatherings for the military and politicians were nothing but a bore, a mere excuse to see some she cared for before being pulled away but her usual pick as a date.
It was their way to escape things that upset them both on equal measures. The fact that the only time she got to see her father now was for these gatherings, and both Fox and Slippy were busy with their married lives. And Falco’s only chance to see his old team... Surrounded by the stuffy older men that showered them with constant praises over past galactic battles.
Lucy appreciated the roll of his blue eyes whenever another canine walked away. It was cathartic.
But for that night, all the avian requested was for her to pack a bathing suit in her small purse. Once they snuck away from the venue, he hurried her along the alleyways of the capital. Blinking neon tubes and street lights. And to a fence that he found a discreet little opening for.
The public gym. Smell of chlorine rather prominent in the air as the pool had been freshly cleaned and left alone for the night. Heart pounded.
‘This is very illegal.’
‘Eh. Gonna call the cops on me?’
‘That wouldn’t be smart on my part now would it.’ Her smile reached her eyes, glancing up at him.
‘Nope. Unless you want to spend the night in jail.’
‘That doesn’t sound so different when compared to what we just left.’ So she made her way to the changing rooms. ‘I’ll be right back.’

Since you're on a Falucy streak, do you remember how the ship first occurred to you?
I actually do remember a little yes.
You see, I had bought Star Fox Command in 2008, but I never sat down and played it because The World Ends With You consumed my time in terms of DS games. So it wasn’t until I sat down and started playing it in 2010 that I actually started to know some of the new characters. And back then, I was still very iffy about Krystal so I would always avoid her despite her being the canon love interest for Fox. I don’t know, I wasn’t thinking much about why I didn’t like her or trying to fix it, I mostly avoided her at the time.
And Katt was Katt. I was avoiding her a bit too.
But then I saw Lucy and I was like... Peppy Hare has a daughter? Who... is she?? Can I.... omg she’s cute?! And of course I had to enjoy the least known female character in the whole series together with Amanda. And because Falco Lombardi has always been my favorite I started shipping them. I didn’t put much thought as to why, but I did in passing before I jumped into another fandom.
So when I came back into the Star Fox fandom in 2018, I sort of...
Yeah, that small ship I had caught on fire because I was much better at analyzing and looking into the whys and back history with characters. Especially with the Star Fox timeline of 64 to Command. RPing Lucy Hare also helped me flesh her out better and just...
Yeah. That sealed it a lot for me.
@androsswannabe also was kind enough to discuss a lot of aspects of Lucy with me when I was working on her initial background, and @out-of-this-dimension was also sweet enough to egg me on with this ship too.

HI I HAVE TWO! What kind of dates do you think Falco and Lucy would go on? Mostly asking because you're turning me very quickly into a Falucy shipper.~
SHIP ASKS:
YOU SAID YOU HAD TWO! You liar jhsbfjhdslfsdh
It’s okay. Hmmmm...
You know, it’s an interesting to think about Falco asking someone on a date, especially someone like Lucy since she’s kinda the daughter of Peppy Hare. You know, the old man that seems harmless but is able to bench press Wolf and he has done so in front of everyone and Falco was like okay then.
But depending on how the relationship starts, and yes I have thought of other ways they could get together instead of the one from this ask, it will determine on who asks first.
I usually see Falco approaching Lucy after the events of Command, so a lot of the dates would usually start out as official “you need a date for this military event.” And Falco would get invited because he is a former Star Fox member and someone that’s almost a son to Peppy. So he would need a date. And of course sure he could ask Katt, but either she’s busy or she’s already an item with Kool. So that’s a no go. And Fox isn’t really giving Falco the chance to say no because he doesn’t want to be the only one in a stuffy room full of old men for the gods HELP ME FALCO-
Okay geez. Then Falco just calls up Lucy. Please tell me you don’t have a date yet.
...Are you serious?
Yes.
...You could have asked me without sounding desperate.
Listen-
So it becomes a thing where they would sort of pair up during official events because Lucy ends up not caring for her father’s position and Falco absolute dislikes formal occasions. So after a few drinks and hellos, they would both actually ditch the fancy parties and fuck around downtown. Poor Fox is sweating bullets next to Krystal. You can bet Amanda is chatting up a storm with the older ladies who are cooing at the first tadpole she had with Slippy, and Slippy is grinning all proud.
...Wait we’re here for Falco and Lucy. Lmao.
But yeah, since the wedding situation, Falco and Lucy find this comfortable and surprisingly beneficial relationship of ditching what doesn’t make them feel good and exploring things together. Lucy in expensive dresses and Falco in tuxedos, going into clubs to dance and drink, sometimes getting junk food, play arcade games where Lucy somehow always beats against Falco because he’s a scrub at these.
How are you bad at these?
Don’t rub it in!
No this is a legitimate question Falco, how are you terrible at these? Did you fail every simulation in the Academy?
NO-
Playing pool also, and Lucy taking arm wrestling challenges at bars for free drinks because she is very strong. Falco also makes sure no fucking creep approaches either of them while they are out since, well, they sometimes don’t exactly mix in because of how they are dressed. Not that Lucy would exactly need help but his mom taught him how to be a gentleman fuck you-
But of course, spending more time together will lead to more intimate thoughts. Neither of them thought they’d have that much in common, really. Lucy being an ice queen, the good girl or the stern teacher at the Fichinian Academy. Falco being the cool hot shot fly boy, solo spacer and rebellious. Instead Lucy was surprised to find someone that was a bit more sensible, that paid attention and didn’t mind being humble when the time asked for it. And Falco was surprised to see that Lucy did have a more adventurous side, wanted to spread her wing and explore the universe like he did.
Hey Luce?
Yes sir?
...First of all, no.
I’m sorry it’s a habit!
You don’t see me addressing you as ma’am.
Unless you’re in my class room.
Now that’s different. Look, let’s skip this. Do you wanna do something a bit more, y’know, not this?
...I’m not understanding....
Do you want to get off this rock and disappear for a while??
....
Listen, I get it if you say no. Just seemed like you needed a vacation or something fro-
Yes.
Huh?
YES! I said yes! When? Where? Now? I need to send out emails and find a substitute for my classes but I can to this now I-
Whoa whoa! Take it eas-
Where are we going??
I-... You know what, we’ll cross that bridge when we get there. Send those damn emails.
Yes sir!
DON’T-

d-rock92 replied to your post “what do you think the sf team does in their free time? like... when...”
This was great to read! And wondered if the genetics would affect Lucy.
Omg thank you!
Also, as for your question on Lucy’s genetics: yeah. They did affect her. Vivian’s disease is genetically passed on to each female, and Lucy did her best to regress it as she was very aware of it. Unfortunately, it actually came in aggressively because of her final home. She ends up living on Zoness and the atmosphere there isn’t exactly the healthiest at all and yeah...
Falco took the kids to Corneria where he knew the pollution was not at a high risk for Abigail. It also let’s her and Valentino stay closer to their grandfather.
