I don’t want to stir up any false hope but mmm been thinking about how the Star Fox 30th anniversary is the year after next. Kind of thinking if we don’t see a new entry in the series this year, maybe next...?
Alternative theory: Perhaps Assault/Adventures ports for Switch? That’d certainly be nice.

MOM HOLY FUCK!
I left the game idle for a moment while I was working on my computer and suddenly out of nowhere I heard Tricky say… “Hiya, fella!”. It was incredibly jarring, so I went back to my game and listened again. After about a full minute, he said it again. So I got my recording equipment and decided to share it with the world. It’s kind of obscure, you have to be standing next to a ThornTail long enough… Which I doubt a lot of players do as this is a game where you have to keep moving. I love that this little line can only be heard if you slow down and just enjoy the game and scenery.
This game is nearly 20 years old, I thought I knew it like the back of my hand; I can play it blindfolded, I can recite the game backwards. I thought for sure I knew everything about this game, discovered all its secrets… Only to be completely blindsided by Tricky. This is a simple thing, but it’s so, so, thrilling to me because I’m learning new things about a game I’ve been playing since my childhood. This is a comfort game for me and it made me so happy.

Snippets - Unnamed Multichapter Project
No AO3 Link or description available at this time. The project will be post-Star Fox Assault and pre-Star Fox Command with a focus on Fox x Krystal.
COMMAND DECK, THE GREAT FOX II, SOMEWHERE IN THE LYLAT SYSTEM --
“INCOMING MESSAGE FROM CORNERIA CITY…” ROB declared.
“Open comms and hit us with it, ROB,” Fox said, walking over to the android’s side.
“Oh please tell me they’re not under attack,” Falco whined.
“Falco,” Krystal chided him. “ROB, go ahead.”
ROB leaned over the dashboard that hosted all of the Great Fox II’s controls. A few button clicks later and a hologram appeared in the middle of the room. It was Peppy, donned in his crimson general’s attire. Krystal was not sure she would ever get used to the sight of him like that. The hare adjusted his spectacles then his hat, trying to adjust it. Evidently, the hat they had given him was a tad too small, crunching his ears at the base and making them flop over comically. Krystal held a hand to her muzzle, trying not to giggle too loudly.
“Er… is this thing on…? H-hello, Star Fox team! Er… or just Fox,” Peppy said.
“They’re off-screen for you, I think,” Fox replied with a grin.
“Hey Peppy!” Slippy called.
“O-oh! Wonderful to hear. Sorry, I’m still getting used to all this fancy tech… they really do reserve the best for the General! Er… and acting General, I suppose,” Peppy said. “Right, where was I? The Cornerian Defense Force would like to formally request the assistance of the Star Fox team in aiding us in a very important mission. I don’t suppose you’re busy?”
“Not at the moment, General,” Fox answered jovially. “And you’re just in time, really. We got everything fixed up around the new mothership.”
“She’s treatin’ ya well, I hope!” Peppy beamed at him. “Right, onto business. After the aparoids did us the honors of gettin’ rid of Andrew Oikonny, we knew that his troops would be on the run. I’m pleased to report that’s mostly the case but we do have a certain individual who is proving to be problematic for my boys.”
“We’re all ears,” Fox said.
“Speak for yourself,” Falco snorted and when Krystal shot him an unamused glare, he shrugged. “What? Does it look like I even have ears?”
“Falco…” Peppy sighed. “Well, the person in question is one of Oikonny’s commanders. Let me pull up what our database has on this guy for ya.”
The hologram of Peppy disappeared and in its place, Krystal could see a mugshot of a chimpanzee. He had a skeevy look about him; a bloom of blond hair sprung from his scalp, contrasting with his sleek black coat—dyed, if Krystal had to guess. His blond bangs ran on either sides of his smirking face like crushed flower petals, thick with grease. His pupils were mere dots, ringed with swampy green irises. Some data wrote itself out next to him, small enough that she could not see from where she sat. The azure vixen rose, setting her book down in her seat and wandered over, taking in the information. It read:
Name: Nathaniel Galaxicos.
Age: 36
Race: Cornerian Simian
Gender: Male
Homeworld: Corneria
Occupation: Crime Lord, now a General for the Venom Restoration Front
Notable relatives: Charlie Galaxicos (deceased) and Eva Galaxicos (deceased) – cousins. An unknown cousin that served as one of Andross’s generals. Note: Named cousins killed in conflict post-Lylat Wars after attempting to assassinate General Pepper.
Extra Information:
- Considered highly dangerous
- Currently leads a squadron of insurgents
- Last known location: The Titanian Redsands
“Titania, huh?” Fox asked and Krystal heard Slippy groan. The vulpine did not react at all. “And this guy’s one of Andrew’s, huh? What’s the situation planet-side?”
“Not good,” Peppy sighed. Nathaniel’s information vanished and the hare reappeared. “Though Titania is not formally a part of the Cornerian Alliance, we still have several bases on its surface. Most of them are research centers, filled with more scientists than soldiers. It seems as though Nathaniel has taken one of the bases captive for his own. The CDF forces were completely and utterly blindsided. No one thought any of Oikonny’s men would go to Titania. It’s… not exactly a desirable location.”
“That’s understating it,” Falco snorted.
“I hate that place,” Slippy huffed.

Snippets -- Legacies Never Die, Chapter 2: A Beacon in the Dark
AO3 Link
It's been a year since the Lylat Wars and Fox decides to undertake a seemingly impossible task-- cleaning out the Great Fox. Having taken up his father's mantle, he had left most of his dad's belongings intact. But when he starts to dig into the lesser used sections of the mothership, he uncovers a recording left by his father detailing the first generation's adventures.
We all liked hanging out in the bridge together. With the three of us, it was somewhere between quiet and pleasantly loud. Pigma had a knack for gaming so he hooked up some systems for us to tinker with while we had down time. We had fun but we always had to keep nearby the radar in case something came up. Pigma didn’t have a huge collection of games back then—that was something he picked up as time went on. But he had this racing game we all liked. You could play as various critters and you could ride around on monsters. It was as over-the-top stupid silly as it got but hey, it was better than staring out at space waitin’ for life to hit us all with the next thing to do.
We were in the middle of a race when our scanners picked something up. Pigma was in the lead but we were gaining on him. I think he was sweating bullets when the game got paused so someone could check the radar. Peppy volunteered to go look and I leaned back, stretching.
“Y’know, we should really get a bot for somethin’ like this,” Pigma said. I could tell he was eyeing Peppy’s controller. Maybe thinking about unpausing the game to give himself a bit of a boost in lead.
“They make bots for monitoring ships like this?” I asked, not too familiar with the subject myself.
“Yeah, it’s the new trendy thing, James. Haven’t ya been on the internet? People’re freakin’ that everyone’s gonna lose their jobs to the androids,” Pigma retorted. “But hell with it, I say. If it means we don’t gotta worry about making sure the Great Fox isn’t about to crash every few minutes, it’s worth it to me.”
“Not a bad idea,” I commented. “Dunno how to build one though.”
“Oh it’s easy,” Pigma said with the wave of his hand. “Most of ‘em come with kits and instructions anyways.”
“Heh, just like one of them… oh, what’re they called…” I scratched my chin. “Easy Breezy Ovens? Y’know, those pink things that bake the little cookies.”
“Ha!” Pigma snorted. “Could use one of those in the lounge too while we’re at it. I’d make use of it.”
“What’s the word, Pep?” I asked, looking at where the hare was fixated upon the radar. He was rubbing at his jawline, thick brows furrowed in confusion. That was when I knew we were in for something different that day.
“Pep?”
“Saw something for a second. Weak signal. Ah, wait, there it is again! Coming from Sector Beta.”
“Sector Beta?” I asked.
“Yeah! It’s… oh gosh, it’s an SOS signal. Looks like someone ran into engine trouble or something.”
“We got extra fuel cells?” I asked Pigma as I glanced at him.
“Yeah.”
“Let’s go help ‘em out.”
