Peppy Hare, Fox McCloud's adoptive father after James' death. He and James McCloud were best friends, ride or die, but they had a long and complicated situationship as well. Peppy will forever be devoted to his beloved James, but it was reciprocated on and off. Their relationship was finally starting to become official, when fate had other plans, and James sacrificed himself so Peppy could survive Pigma's betrayal at Venom.
Even past James' death, however, Peppy's love prevailed through his care for his son Fox. Through thick and thin, Peppy has been Fox's biggest advocate, pushing him to pursue his ambitions even when Fox didn't believe in himself.
He becomes Team Star Fox's advisor in the skies, with his wisdom and experience. Because he has had bad experiences with a team member who always came crying for help, he tends to be critical of Slippy, dreading the thought that Slippy may turn out like Pigma. His critical attitude towards Slippy can spark arguments between him and Fox - much like any father and son.
