Chapitre 222 - The Beginning of the Dream, or The Dream Begins

Which is only immediately ironic following Yuuko saying it was ending. But still! there they go! Our sweet, long-suffering clones are going off into the aether to be reborn and Yuuko's final task is done. Her side of the plot is over. Clow Reed's accidental wish that broke the universe is finally becoming undone.

It's sad and tragic and beautiful and my heart particularly aches over the panel of Yuuko alone in the darkness of the dream world as she announces her end. Especially since, like, how much of Yuuko's existence has just been this? Her announcing things to an empty room as no-one is around to listen, as she quietly fights to right the wrongs of the universe with no-one around she can actually talk to? Because who WOULD she tell this to? The only person who would understand is long dead - though I think there's room to feel that all her speeches to no-one in particular were actually aimed at Clow. Which also hurts!

Though it's also accidentally really funny to me that the last thing she ever said to the (surviving) Tsubasa main cast was this bit, where she jumped in on Evil Wolverine's shocked moment to correct him and then immediately ending the skype call, saying nothing else to them ever again.

Wouldn't be a long DD fic without Spidey showing up! 🥰🥰🥰 I've honestly been so excited to bring him in, biding my time until the timeline matched. He was one of the first superheroes I latched onto via cartoons as a kid and then the movies started and I just - I fucking love Spiderman, I've loved all of his movies, loved the different takes on him with Tobey and Andrew and now Tom and all the Spideys in Into the Spider-Verse, too, so I knew I couldn't do TRT without having him show up - and especially since NWH and the ensuing fic was a LOT of peoples' introduction to Charlie!Daredevil, and that makes me so, SO happy cause it gives me more people to talk about Daredevil with, and it means Charlie gets more love, which I'm all for obviously. 😂

It's basically an open secret now so I may as well just confirm he's going to be our next cameo when we hit Queens, and it's not going to be the 'two people removed' cameo like Tony Stark. This will be actual Peter and he'll be popping in and out going forward, as will some other characters. Cause at this point, we're not only approaching Sokovia Accords: Population All Enhanced, but we're also reaching the tipping point at which Jane is going to be known enough for other heroes to come knocking.

Queen Bee!Chloe and Assyrian!Zoe (based on the royal assyrian butterfly) keeping a garden to together on their terrace. It's filled to the brim with flowers and a few seasonal fruits and just about bursting with bees and butterflies. Makes it so much easier for Zoe to send out a kamiko to counteract an akuma.

Also at one point Audrey breaks one of their marigold pots and Chloe just explodes like never before. She just lets loose on how Audrey is a shit mom and a shit person and that if she ever dared to step foot in their garden again she would not hesitate to break that money making face of hers. It was absolutely legendary and Audrey was left speechless for the first time in her life.

Zoe and Francois were in the back saving the marigold and getting it a new pot.

Bonus: after multiple tries, I've realized that my characterization skills suck, so I'd much rather put an idea out there for someone with more talent to write it and do the concept justice

Audrey scoffs and thinks they could be doing much more valuable things with their time. In order to prove at point to Zoe, she’d knock over a pot of marigolds that Zoe had been telling her how she’d brought back from being nearly dead, nearly making it fall off of the terrace.

Now with the Chloe outburst, we’ve seen a lot of Chloe gets big and loud, so I think it’d honestly be scarier for her to quietly catch her mom by herself later. She’d start with a story from her childhood, where she had a hobby Audrey disapproved of and subsequently squished. She’d tell her mother not to dare ruin this for Zoe. She’d end with a question, “Do you even remember every birthday you missed? No visit no gift no postcard?! Everyone working here does” and she’d tell her that if she tried to pull anything like that again, she’d find the terrace doors locked to her.
