also holy ahit just mentioning this bc i saw other ppl sorta talking about it earlier in regards to shipping, but the dsmp fandom kinda sucked in regards to how it treated transfems too. Like ok i loved the fandom like a brother but the only transfem rep was like, 90% of the time cranboo and 99.9% of yhe time that “rep” was her being dressed like a 50s housewife with a frankly ridiculous layering of gender stereotypes. Like, bwuh???? There qas this big attitude of “YEAH WERE SUPER QUEER” but ppl couldn’t imagine a transfem who didn’t have long hair and skirts and cook for her hubby, and couldn’t ship characters who were HEADCANONED found family. Deranged
#There were great parts of the fandom too!! Tbf!!! Aroace cTommy was monumental. But it was also bad with yhe transmisogyny ToT#Like. There was a bit where it ruined the phrase “girl (character)” for me LMAO bc it just meant someone was taking all the personality out#Of a character and turning them into a stereotype in the dsmp fandom#Most of yhe time anyway#Now theres butch tubbo and we xan all cheer but yeah#Dont even get me started on yhe egregious treatment of transfem ctommy.
