The prince and his Physician. A role-reversal au based on a dream I had that I wanted to draw something for. More ramblings under the cut

In this au, there is a kingdom of men where the briar valley once stood. Silver, the heir to this kingdom, has been the only member of the royal family for centuries, the result of a curse that causes him to die before he's old enough to ascend to the throne and reincarnate days after his passing. Silver's immortality was once a symbols for the kingdom's permanence, but the repeated death of their monarch every two decades or so has left the citizens with perpetual, generational sorrow with seemingly no solution as no one besides Silver was alive when the curse was placed.

A few centuries after Silver was born and it was believed the last full-blooded fae in briar valley had either abandoned the land or died, a draconian fae child is found in the brambles. This fae, given the name Malleus, was brought to the kingdom at the request if the prince and raised as part of the royal court with the express purpose of becoming the royal physician/chemist. It is believed that Silver's curse, as everlasting as it seems, was placed on him by a fae with extreme magical prowess and if anyone has a chance of breaking it, it's another fae. The kingdom believes that Malleus will be able to break the death curse and allow Silver to become their immortal king.

However, Silver has other plans for his chemist. From an early age, Silver requested that Malleus use his talents to find a different kind of solution to his curse that he can never tell anyone. He wants Malleus to find a way to stop his reincarnations entirely and let him unburden his people with the monarchy. Whether to fulfill the request of the kingdom he calls home, or the prince that took him in is in Malleus' hands.

i will litigate this forever. 7x04 is not really ambiguous and if it’s a bait and switch it’s a bad one. yes buck has a crush on tommy but this is a separate issue from whose attention he wanted. to buck it appears that eddie is developing a special relationship with this guy (he perceives it and approaches it as romantic, and everyone else also sort of teasingly hints at it being romantic, this is what drives buck insane in addition to the fact that he simply cannot relate). he spends the entire episode trying to get eddie’s attention. no it’s not that every instance of him trying to get eddie’s attention is actually him trying to get tommy’s attention—he is quite literally trying, actively, consciously, to get eddie to pay attention to him the entire time. this culminates in him hurting eddie. he tells maddie about hurting eddie and faces her disappointment on top of his guilt. he decides that he wanted tommy’s attention the whole time BECAUSE of the fact that he hurt eddie, BECAUSE of his conversation with maddie, not because it’s something he’s been keeping a secret the entire time. and because he also is actually interested in tommy he can channel all of the confusing feelings about being replaced in eddie’s life into that crush. but his feelings for tommy and his feelings about eddie are distinct and apparent the entire episode. his feelings about tommy have been resolved. it was a crush. his feelings about eddie have not!!! he still doesn’t know why he became deranged!! and he’s putting the derangement into the tommy box so he doesn’t have to think about it!

I am once again thinking about how odysseus who witnessed the horrors that the captured women went through (one of his main duties in the iliad was taking the women back home and making sure they were as comfortable as possible and safe because he was the only one trusted not to violate them further due to his devotion to penelope. And in the odyssey part of the reason circe sent him to the underworld was so that he'd have to listen to all these women's stories (before he could talk to the prophet) ). Who was one of the few that saw women as people and respected their space and opinions. And was then put in those exact same situations. I don't have the motivation right now to do a full literary analysis of this (I'll site the sources too) but oh man one day I'm going to write a full essay on this.

It always makes me happy seeing people in the comments going "BUBBLE IS SO CUTE!!" Everytime I see a drawing of Carnival Bubble I kick my feet and giggle and point and go "Ahaha! I did that!" It always brightens my day UwU

I have partly to thank my sibling who encouraged me to DIY my own Carnival Bubble after I was in shambles to see my favorite little guy missing from the line up
