#kitty is sick (and has been in renal failure since 2021) and i'm very worried about him#chronic pain is chronic pain-ing AND i pulled a muscle in my hip the other week which is still excruciating#still can hardly leave the house still can barely see friends still spend most of my time in bed still can't work or study or exercise.#my m*m is STILL the worst person on planet earth and i still have to live in her house and pay her rent#waiting to hear back from the pain specialist for weeks about a procedure i don't want to do and can't afford#and it almost definitely won't help 👍 but then once i'm done w him it's litch really back to the drawing board like NO ONE can figure out#what's wrong w me in 10+ yrs or even bare minimum treat my symptoms. absolutely going balls to the walls insane besties

I've heard a good deal about how ADHD makes it hard to regulate muscle tension the way a "normal" person would, and I've never really thought too hard about that until literally today, as I intentionally relaxed muscles which have been tensed since before I knew how to speak this language, and took a breath twice as deep as any I ever remember taking.
My shoulders are a different shape. They always felt the wrong shape, and tried as I might with pinning them back like I'd been haphazardly instructed, all I could achieve was a weird caricature of healthy posture. And now suddenly the muscle and fat, which has been a daily trigger for persistent, low-level dysmorphia for years, looks... right.

My doctor suspected my symptoms were psychosomatic, so she sent me to a month long stay in a clinic that was somehow not a psych ward to "rebuild my resilience".
That place was a dumpster fire in a host of ways, but they also decided I was depressed and suicidal because I mentioned that my symptoms had reached a severity where I was considering applying for euthanasia, since no one seemed to have answers for it and everyone, their doctors included, said improvement was not to be expected.
It's important to point out this hospital is not in a country that recognizes the right to a dignified death, only the right to die.
I was immediately told that I was to call for help the second I had thoughts like these and to not act on them in any way and I was like...
Ma'am. Firstly, this is a procedure that involves heaps of paperwork and a dozen doctors reviewing all medical files on me. It takes months, and even if I get approved for it, it doesn't mean I immediately get to shuffle off this mortal coil. Secondly, what alternative do I have? I don't particularly want to die, but every alternative provided is just dying, slower, in much more pain, while losing control of every mental and bodily function, and while you and your colleagues insist I'm imagining things.
It's like living in a house full of black mold: this is not sustainable, but what are your options if it's all you have access to? Homelessness, quite famously, isn't better for your health, either.
To give an idea of how the rest of the month went: the three doctors I saw at their insistence afterwards were baffled why I was there, because the reason for my visit made no medical sense.
Then came my annual ortho checkup, I got asked how I was doing, I mentioned the clinic and the symptoms and how no amount of therapy or positive thinking did anything. This guy went "Sounds like your fibromyalgia is either getting worse, or your body doesn't have the resources to keep it manageable. Try making sure you get an hour or two more sleep, avoid getting chilled, and keep up with your rehab fitness class. Go see this specialist if that doesn't help."
Turns out, the "crying from exhaustion" thing had more to do with the exhaustion part than the crying part, and pain gets worse if you're running on eight hours of sleep a night where you need ten.
