My HC is that Diogo wrote about his wife and child. Beatriz/Mayara's parents couldn't raise her when she was born (of course, they were mortals) because she wasn't a normal human, she was the allegory of Brazil itself.

America and Brazil, but Brazil has the worst flag in his history.

This Brazilian flag was used just after the proclamation of the republic on November 15th of 1889. Brazil was plagiarizing a lot of things from the States, so why not plagiarize the flag too? This ridiculous flag was just used for FOUR days.

Also Alfred with a mustache, because it's 1889 and he needs a mustache. He looks comically evil.

Below I have the version without the mustache to prove my point of how important the mustache is.
