I pray to thee, Lady Hestia, Blessed Keeper of Hearth and Home,
Protector of families both by blood and by choice,
You who maintain the eternal fire on Olympus,
You are the spark that ignites the flame,
The warmth that comforts in the chill of night.
In your unending warmth and tender-heartedness,
My soul finds peace and healing.
Please guide me with patience and strength as I strive for independence,
And navigate the complexities of life
May your divine presence bring harmony within my family and protection for my home.
With profound gratitude and unwavering reverence,
I offer this prayer to you,
O Hestia, eternal and benevolent.
May your favor be ever upon me.

Autumn Equinox Rituals Honoring Hestia
Create a seasonal protection spray and ward your home, or just use the ingredients as a spell jar:
🍁 Ingredients: rose petals, dried apple slices, pink salt, cinnamon, sage, bay leaf, cloves. (optional for spell jar: crystals: black tourmaline, amethyst. seal with black wax or cord.)
🍁 if doing a spell jar: write a protection charm/prayer on a piece of paper and put it inside. If making a spray, say it out loud while warding. For example: "Blessed Keeper of the Hearth, protect all who dwell here whether they be near or far away, safe they will be with the ingredients of this spray."
🍁 add the sigils of Hestia-Vesta.
Create a simmer pot to cleanse your house:
🍎 Ingredients: apple slices, cinnamon sticks, bay leaves, cloves, nutmeg, cardamom, orange/blood orange slices, star anise, vanilla extract (optional), pumpkin pie spice (optional)
🍎 Add all ingredients to a pot on a stove with enough water (around 6 cups depending on the size of your pot)
🍎 Cast a cleansing spell/prayer as it boils and you start to smell the aroma. Let the rising vapor be an offering to Hestia and ask Her to help you cleanse your home with it. Reduce heat to a simmer and add more water to replace the water that has evaporated for as long as you want. Remember to practice kitchen safety!!
Some foods you can make and charm with intentions:
Cinnamon oat bread - for success, abundance, prosperity, and wealth (this is my favorite recipe - just add cinnamon when combining all ingredients)
Pomegranate glazed salmon - for abundance, fertility, rebirth, honors Persephone's return to the Underworld, and invokes Hestia Polyolbos
Mashed sweet potatoes or butternut squash - for protection, harmony, friendship
Pumpkin ricotta pasta - for wealth, prosperity, love, fertility
Apple cider - for health and healing
Eat anything that's in season and feel the energy of the Earth (warmed and heated by Hestia at its molten core) warm your soul. Thank Her for these gifts.
Please feel free to add and share any more ideas you have!

Hestia Devotional Activities
I was cleaning my room last night and found this list on a random piece of paper. I've been worshipping/working with Lady Hestia for roughly 2 years now so I have no idea when these ideas are from but I hope you enjoy!
Pick up rubbish in communal areas
Offer the first or last bites/portions of food your to her
Cooking/baking for yourself or others
Having a candle lit whenever possible (electric or real)
Alternatively, playing a video of a fire place. (This is my favourite)
Volunteering at or donating to homeless or DV shelters
Setting healthy boundaries with friends and family
Tea/Coffee magick is always a great devotional opportunity
Get involved with your local community in anyway possible.
Additionally, getting involved in politics! Advocating for policies you believe will better the community is absolutely in alignment with Hestia and her role in ancient Greece.
Allow yourself to rest (this is UPG but i've always found that she just wants you to take care of yourself more than anything).
Do a chore you've been putting off for a long time and dedicate it to her
Organise to hang out with some friends and/or family
Be kind to others AND YOURSELF!!
Veil or bind your hair!
Wear something red or orange (I normally opt for a red hair tie and bind my hair with it. 2 birds, 1 stone)
Make a devotional playlist for her
While we're on the topic of digital witchcraft, make a pinterest board or a mood board for her
Learn about kitchen witchery

My personal altar dedicated to Lady Hestia. 🧡
I just got done cleaning and refreshing it-one of my favorite things to do to show my love! 🧡
I love to see other altars dedicated to the Gods and wanted to share mine, as well. 🧡
This photo shows one of my favorite parts. I'm not able to purchase a statue of Lady Hestia just yet so I made a tiny little Goddess out of polymer clay for Her/to represent Her (it's right next to the small purple unicorn-it really is a tiny little thing!).
Also look at this cute little glass piggy I found!
YAY lol I'm happy 🧡

Misconceptions I've had about Hestia
Whenever working with a new deity, I've learned that the myth doesn't always match the (wo)man. But a lack of mythos adds a whole new layer that I encountered when working with Hestia for the first time. I realized that, because there's not much about her, the little information out there has a high likelihood of not being true. And the few myths about her are maybe 3 sentences? So I decided to share some things that I've learned for input. There's also some general advice, as Hestia is the first goddess I've fully worked with. Coming up one year now, yayyyy!
As always, agree to disagree and please don't start fights!
🔥☕🏡🐖------🔥☕🏡🐖------🔥☕🏡🐖------🔥☕🏡🐖
1~ Hestia is passive
Ha! Not really! Many people believe that because Hestia is a home goddess and stays on Mt. Olympus, she's passive and unassertive. But from what I've learned, that could be farther from the truth. Despite Poseidon and Apollo's advances, she stayed true to what she wanted. She picked her job, chose what she wanted to do, and she's stuck to it. That's part of why she took her vow to Zeus, so she would have no man to deter her from the life she chose. That, I think, is crucial to hear these days, especially with the rise of trad wives and feminism. She is the prime example that it should be your choice and not anyone else's. Yes, she is calm and peaceful compared to her siblings, but she's also powerful in her quiet nature. There's a power in that.
2~ To devote yourself to Hestia, you have to be completely modest and veil all the time.
This was a hard one for me going into it. I thought that to devote myself, I had to stay true to all her virtues. And I tried to dress how I thought she would want me to. However, I realized that I felt so unhappy and nothing like myself. I was already fairly modest by nature, but I still felt like I wasn't modest enough. I prayed that night, did a little meditation, and I realized something. I don't have to be exactly like her to worship her. I can just be myself. Hestia, as a hospitable and kind goddess, she will take you and love you as you come. Recently, I've gotten myself real veils, but for a while I've just used a red hair tie while doing housework. And again, it wasn't all the time, just while while cleaning or cooking. And that's okay, she won't hate you for it!
3~ She'll be mad if you don't do your house chores on time or if you mess up cooking
This has got to be my anxiety showing, because looking back, there's no way that she would be like this. Cooking and baking are imperfect arts. Things tend to go wrong. And when they do, you just have a second, pick yourself up by your bootstraps, and keep going. If you mess up, Hestia is there for you: she lets you take those moments and guides you to get up and keep going, keep persevering, and finish that casserole. When it comes to chores, those are a lot harder, especially for neurodivergent people (like myself). Sometimes it can feel like that hardest thing in the world. But Hestia knows that, and she doesn't mind. As long as it gets done. Even if the laundry load is so big it feels like a mountain, she'll help you climb it. She knows, and she's there for you.
4~ By family, she means blood family.
Also no. Family is a very different thing than it was in Greek times. Now, family is what you make it, not who you're related to, and if your family is a danger to you, you have every right to not call them family. Hestia, along with being protector of hearth and home, she is the protector of those without a hearth to go to, those who don't have a stable home. She knows that family isn't linear, and I believe she wants everyone to have a stable family, no matter what it looks like. What is a home but the bricks you make it out of?, what is a fireplace but the kindling you put in it?
🔥☕🏡🐖------🔥☕🏡🐖------🔥☕🏡🐖------🔥☕🏡🐖
So yeah, that's my top four. Feel free to reblog with anything that you've learned, either from Hestia or any other deity you work with and give your input on my thoughts! Blessed be, everyone!

i feel like lady hestia enjoys just being around. in the most simple sense. drinking your morning coffee or tea, she's there enjoy it with you. being bored at work, she's there sitting next to you filling you with ideas what can you do when back home. making a quick dish after work, she's there loving all the smells. laying in your bed and looking at the ceiling, she's looking at the same ceiling. she's there, always. and i think this is what makes her so important. she's always there, no matter how small or big the occasion, she's there, with you. her presence is not grand and full of intense emotions, its simple and stable. she's like the air that surrounds us, we know it's there even if we cannot see it, grab it, it's there.

Every day I’m reminded of what a blessing it is to love and be loved by Hestia. She’s like an older sister, a mother, an aunt, a grandmother. A caring friend. She’s comforting, gentle, and patient. I can talk to her about anything and she knows just what I need. Her divine love is as warming as cozying up by a fire. I feel her comforting me when I wrap myself up in a blanket or sweater. I hear her laughter in crackling wood flames. How lucky am I to worship her? She breathes life into me and I am strengthened by my devotion to her.
Thank you Blessed Hestia. I trust you. I honor you. I love you.
