Seven Hermetic principles

1. The principle of mentalism

"The All is Mind; the Universe is Mental."

2. The principle of correspondence

"As above, so below; as below, so above.”

3. The principle of vibration

"Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates."

4. The principle of polarity

"Everything is dual; everything has poles; everything has its pair of opposites; like and unlike are the same; opposites are identical in nature, but different in degree; extremes meet; all truths are but half-truths; all paradoxes may be reconciled."

5. The principle of rhythm

"Everything flows, out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum-swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates."

6. The principle of cause and effect

"Every cause has its effect; every effect has its cause; everything happens according to law; chance is but a name for law not recognized; there are many planes of causation, but nothing escapes the law."

7. The principle of gender

"Gender is in everything; everything has its masculine and feminine principles; gender manifests on all planes."

The 7 Hermetic Principles

**one feeds into the next. to understand one you have to understand the others.

MENTALISM

Everything that exist is sprit. Mater is just densified spirit. Spirit is just refined matter. 

All is mind: everything that happens has to be the result of the mental state that preceded it. 

Wa are creating twice. First, the thought , we design it in our head. Second, manifesting it into physical form. 

CORRESPONDENCE

All planes of existence are connected in correspondence. What we do/are no the micro level is what we do/are on the macro level 

The outer world is a reflection of our inner world

VIBRATION 

Everything vibrates at a distinct frequency

Simply changing your mental state will change your vibration 

POLARITY 

Everything has a paired opposite

Extreme opposites are a different degrees of the same thing

RHYTHM

Everything flows; all things rise and fall

test/alters our attachments

CAUSE + EFFECT  

Every cause has an effect; every effect has its cause

There is an underlying law that influence the effect of what we cause

You can choose what actions you take, but in doing so, you can also choose the consequences

GENDER

Genders is in everything, everything has masculine + feminine principles

Masc (yang) - directed towards giving out + expanding; desire to achieve some + take action; flame that scorches

Fem (yin) - directed towards receiving + absorbing; creativity, feeling, imagining; the flow that soothes + restores.
