Hermes Headcanons:

-He was a regular shulker who followed Joel home and then fell into the fountain, sausage found him and adopted him with Joel.

-He is really good at playing the lyre and the panpipe

-He can speak to plants

-His favorite flower is the Crocus Flower

-Really likes Lizzie and has tried to set her up with Joel multiple times

-Sausage is low-key really protective of him. Reason? He’s scared he will be taken away by the king

-Has tiny little wings on his back

-When Sausage is away and he’s in sanctuary he usually stays with Eddie

-He brings mail to all the empire rulers and most of them find him adorable

That being said though, sometimes I like to think of Hermes as just an eldritch being sent to give god Joel threat or something by like the watchers (or recently the fae) only to get surprise adopt by him and magic man Sausage

I don’t remember what came over me when I wrote this but damn.

I just thought of some great Empires s2 angst.

So imagine another calamity happened, and Lizzie is the only one to actually survive(because she’s a cat and has 9 lives) and so she’s looking for other survivors, but the only person she can find is Hermes. So she now has to break the news to Hermes that his parents are gone. She brings him back to Animalia, where together they rebuild. Eventually, the ghost of Pix comes to also help rebuild because his whole thing is recovering ruins. Eventually Lizzie dies, as she can’t live forever, but Pix and Hermes continue to protect Animalia and share the story of the founder and Mayor of the great empire.

At some point, Hermes ventures out for a little while so that he can bring any survivors or supplies from the other empires. The only things he finds are the creatures that belonged to the empires, but he was able to retrieve some things from Stratos. This is before Lizzie dies, so when she is met with Hermes returning with horses, cats, frogs, dogs,llama, and much more, she decides to build a place of tribute to Hermes, not a place of worship per se, but a place where even if he disappears for a long amount of time, he will be remembered.

Eventually, the animals that were brought to Animalia become more like the other inhabitants, and the empire expands to all the ruins, slowly building them back up.

Many generations have passed at this point, the founders are long gone, but their descendants still stand. The world may have fallen to ruin, but the creatures of the land did not give up.

There are still stories of their great savior, her memory immortalized in books, paintings, and a statue at the center of the new world. The only evidence of humans left is Pix, even though he is incorporeal. The last god alive, Hermes, tells the tales of the past, along with his not-quite-undead companion, as they search the lands for new life, in hopes to keep the world alive.

Hermes tugged on daddy Sausage's pants leg to get his attention, their other hand hidden behind their back.

'Oh? Do you have something for me? Is it from Thunder Daddy?'

Hermes shook his head.

'Auntie Lizzie?'

Hermes shook his head again, bouncing on the balls of their feet, barely able to contain their excitement as they brought his hidden hand into full view, revealing he was holding a large golden colored feather that reflected and shone brightly in the mid-day afternoon sun.

Sausage's eyes went as wide and as round as the cookies he made special for Hermes. 'Oh!' he said, bringing a hand to his mouth to cover his now quivering lip, tears shining in his eyes.

Confused, Hermes started to lower their hand and the feather, unsure if he'd done something wrong in delivering this particular gift. Daddy Sausage was always happy to see what Hermes had to show him...

'Oh, oh no, Hermes! Thank you, thank you mi regalo favorito! I love it! I really, really do! I love it so, so much! Más de lo que puedes saber!'

Then why...?

Sausage crouched in front of them, gently taking the feather from Hermes. 'It is a great honor to personally be blessed by Santa Perla,' he told his son, smiling despite the sadness in his eyes. He leaned forward to give Hermes a kiss on the forehead. 'Thank you for bringing me this very important message.'

Hermes was still confused, but knowing that daddy Sausage wasn't upset with them or the gift did help to put their mind at ease.

'Now! Who wants cookies?'

The cookies also helped.

I... I was so close. I was so close to being right.

Sausage went full-on trope with his ending and it was amazing and I love it. Though I stand by my version.

I hope Sausage has a big battle scene with the Mad King and figures out that the Mad King is actually his father like with Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader, and then he asks why his father did what he did (a combination of not claiming Sausage + the Great Purge) and the Mad King has a line that is "If you ever were a father, you would understand" or something, and Sausage stands up taller and goes "I am a father, and I have never been like you."

And then Delores rams into TMK and just destroys him, and Hermes is riding on her shoulders, and then Delores leans back to scream into the air, and Hermes is hanging on barely but also screaming into the air, and then they both give Sausage a hug.

Bonus: If TMK survives, Hermes signs to his father "Where do we put him?" and Sausage goes "I have an idea"

and then there's a transition to show TMK in a cell, and there's a thudding noise that gets very loud

the shot raises gradually to show a very big shadow, then switching to show a terrified TMK, and then the shadow comes in from the bottom to stop w/TMK just barely shown

and it goes pitch black before you hear Joel say "I think it's time you and I have a little chat"

This is very sketchy and loose and just for fun but here you go <3 Greggy the Dragon, Mandy Mane, and Hermes. The trio in my next fic that dubbed themselves "The Empires Kids" (Tom is in the story too and he has an open invitation to join them at any time but he's busy doing other things <3)

Hermes (from empires smp s2) could kill Macbeth.

He has two dads who created him in a "one night armor stand."

Yes, Hermes from Empires SMP Season 2 could kill Macbeth!

Though I've seen a couple different versions of how exactly he came into being, and it's not entirely clear which ones are and are not canonical, all of them have Hermes being esoterically created by a male character, meaning he applies for the Unconventional Birth Clause and Birth Parent Clause! Hermes is also seemingly referred to with he/they pronouns, but until proof otherwise surfaces, we will be ignoring the Gender Clause for now.
