Amelia's old design from Ken Duncan's pencil tests. From his Instagram: "Captain Amelia design exploration via an animation test. 2000 After spending some time designing Amelia, I started an animation test, as we normally do. Emma Thompson was the voice actor and the design had a similar facial bone structure to her. These first few drawings are from the animation test. After it was completed the directors viewed it and felt it wasn’t appealing enough. Perhaps she came off too “cold”, not enough charm. I drew over these poses with some new design ideas, which are shown in the following drawings here. Also, the last few drawings show my thumbnails that’d I’d sketched before animating, as I listened to Thompson’s voice performance (all on 2 pages). (Based on my sketches here, I’d always thought her hair was going to be black. I was surprised when I saw the eventual color model)."

No touching or preening or lingering glances or smiles?#Sure in the Adventure of the Italian Nobleman Hastings legit punches a guy in the face for her #but she's not there to see it!#and we sorta get a whumpy scene in Double Clue where she's tending to his wounds with iodine so they could have played that up #esp. if they were really trying to no homo everything.#but they didn't. like. he barely looks at her in that scene.#And maybe they were just trying to stay truer to the source material but like. They still could have *implied* a great deal #and they didn't. Tiny one is a deity of lightning and she just wants to run around with the mortals and have fun but having a physical body takes a toll on her. So she has these two devoted followers she can communicate with and they can let her have control of their body which is easier on her (not them).

White haired woman is very strong while black haired man is skilled in magic. So if the deity is feeling really pent up she uses his body to discharge.

In my mind, Rhinedottir does dress pretty casually when she's not in risk of being seen by unauthorized people (literally anyone except Alice), because appearances are a big part of the persona she dons while in public, especially when interacting with the rest of the court (that and I think she has some minor narcissism going on but that's a different can of worms to open later.)
