I Will Follow You into the Dark
Written By: Benjamin Gibbard
Artist: Death Cab for Cutie
Released: 2006
Even on a concept album whose main theme is death, “I’ll Follow You Into The Dark” is a standout moving song about the transcendental power of love, even when that boundary is death. This song was recorded unexpectedly while the band was having technical difficulties in studio. Chris Walla, Death Cab for Cutie’s lead guitarist and producer, said the following. “We were going to track the vocal for another song and there was something screwy happening with the headphone mix. We were having problems, so I said, “Ben, this is gonna be a few minutes. Take a break.” Ben’s version of taking a break while we addressed the headphone problem was to pick up this Stella guitar that he loves and start playing this song we were planning on recording sometime later during the sessions. He was still coming through the vocal mic as he was playing this, and it was sounding really cool to me, so I went up and said, “Let’s track this real quick,” and we did and that’s what’s on the record. It was a mono recording with no effects. Nothing. I added a little compression and de-essed it a bit. It’s really weird. It’s totally there and it’s happening.”
[Verse 1] Love of mine, someday you will die But I'll be close behind, I'll follow you into the dark No blinding light or tunnels to gates of white Just our hands clasped so tight, waiting for the hint of a spark [Chorus] If Heaven and Hell decide that they both are satisfied Illuminate the "no"s on their vacancy signs If there's no one beside you when your soul embarks Then I'll follow you into the dark [Verse 2] In Catholic school, as vicious as Roman rule I got my knuckles bruised by a lady in black And I held my tongue as she told me, "Son Fear is the heart of love," so I never went back [Chorus] If Heaven and Hell decide that they both are satisfied Illuminate the "no"s on their vacancy signs If there's no one beside you when your soul embarks Then I'll follow you into the dark [Verse 3] You and me have seen everything to see From Bangkok to Calgary and the soles of your shoes Are all worn down, the time for sleep is now But it's nothing to cry about 'cause we'll hold each other soon In the blackest of rooms [Chorus] And if Heaven and Hell decide that they both are satisfied And illuminate the "no"s on their vacancy signs If there's no one beside you when your soul embarks Then I'll follow you into the dark [Outro] Then I'll follow you into the dark

I Say a Little Prayer
Written By: Hal David & Burt Bacharach
Artist: Aretha Franklin
Released: 1968
Originally recorded by: Dionne Warwick, 1967
Cover included: Dianna Agron for Glee, 2009
Originally written for Dionne Warwick by Burt Bacharach and Hal David in 1966, Aretha and her ‘Sweet Inspirations’ were fooling around before a show and warming up by singing “Say A Little Prayer” when it became obvious that they should make their own version. A second chance for Bacharach who wasn’t happy with his original version and told the L.A Times: “I thought I blew it. The tempo seemed too fast. I never wanted the record to come out. So what happens? They put out the record and it was a huge hit. I was wrong.” Although Aretha’s never quite reached the fame of Warwick’s version, it did reach 10 on the Hot 100 chart and 3 on the R&B chart. Even Bacharach finds Aretha’s version more pleasing: “Aretha just made a far better record.”
[Intro] (I say a little prayer for you) [Verse 1] The moment I wake up Before I put on my makeup (Makeup) I say a little (Prayer for you) And while I'm combing my hair now And wondering what dress to wear now (Wear now) I say a little (Prayer for you) [Chorus] Forever (Forever), and ever (Yeah) You'll stay in my heart and I will love you Forever (Forever), and ever (Ever) We never will part, oh, how I love you Together (Together), together (Together) That's how it must be to live without you Would only mean heartbreak for me (Ooh-hoo) [Verse 2] I run for the bus, dear But while riding I think of us, dear (Us, dear) I say a little (Prayer for you) And at work I just take time And all through my coffee break time (Break time) I say a little (Prayer for you) [Chorus] Forever (Forever), and ever (Ever) You'll stay in my heart and I will love you Forever (Forever), and ever (Ever) We never will part, oh, how I love you Together (Together), together (Together) That's how it must be to live without you Would only mean heartbreak for me (Nobody but me) Forever (Ever), and ever (Ever) You'll stay in my heart and I will love you Forever (Forever), and ever (Ever) We never will part, oh, how I love you Together (Together), together (Together) That's how it must be to live without you Would only mean heartbreak for me (Ooh, ooh-hoo) [Bridge] My darling, believe me (Believe me) For me, there is no one but you Please love me true I'm in love with you (Answer my prayer) Answer my prayer, baby (Answer my prayer) Say you'll love me true (Answer my prayer) Answer my prayer, baby (Answer my prayer) [Chorus] (Ey) Forever (Forever), and ever (Ever, ever) You'll stay in my heart and I will love you Forever (Forever), and ever (Ever) We never will part, oh, how I love you Together (Together), together (Together) That's how it must be to live without you Would only mean heartbreak for me (Oh, nobody but me) [Bridge] My darling, believe me (Believe me) For me, there is no one but you Please love me true [Outro] This is my prayer (Answer my prayer, baby) Answer my prayer now, baby (Answer my prayer, baby) This is my prayer (Answer my prayer, baby) Answer it right now, baby (Answer my prayer, baby) Say you'll love me true (Answer my prayer, baby) This is my prayer, baby (Answer my prayer, baby) I'm in love with you (Answer my prayer)

I will follow you into the dark-undertale.
I did a series in undertale with lyrics from the song above by "Death Cab for a cutie" as chapter and story titles, a bit back.
And I want to see if I can explain the order I did them in.
Story below
First, I'm posting the words here, then will try to break it down.
---
Love of mine
Someday you will die
But I'll be close behind
I'll follow you into the dark
No blinding light
Or tunnels, to gates of white
Just our hands clasped so tight
Waiting for the hint of a spark
If Heaven and Hell decide that they both are satisfied
Illuminate the no's on their vacancy signs
If there's no one beside you when your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark
In Catholic school, as vicious as Roman rule
I got my knuckles bruised by a lady in black
And I held my tongue as she told me
"Son, fear is the heart of love, " so I never went back
And if Heaven and Hell decide that they both are satisfied
Illuminate the no's on their vacancy signs
If there's no one beside you when your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark
You and me have seen everything to see
From Bangkok to Calgary
And the soles of your shoes are all worn down
The time for sleep is now
But it's nothing to cry about
'Cause we'll hold each other soon
In the blackest of rooms
And if Heaven and Hell decide that they both are satisfied
Illuminate the no's on their vacancy signs
If there's no one beside you when your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark
Then I'll follow you into the dark
---
Right away, you might notice that three story titles are from the middle verse. "Held my tounge", "Fear is the heart of love", and "So I never went back"
"Waiting for the hint of a spark" comes from the last line of the first verse, and " "In the blackest of rooms" comes from the last line of the third one.
Fear is the first one in the series and its chapter titles come from the second half of the chorus.
Blackest of rooms, the king Papyrus one has the rest of the lines from the last verse, ending with its title.
Waiting for the hint of a spark, covers the later half of the first verse.
Held my tounge uses the middle verse, exempting the words used as titles
So I never went back, is a little weird. It does the first half of the chorus, and then loops back to the begining of the song. There is a reason for that.
Anyway "Fear is the heart of love" I felt was an apt title for the genocide route, given the double meaning of Love in game.
I like the order I put them in chronologically, but theres another way to read them by order of the song, which I found made a neat narriation. Starting with "waiting for the hint of a spark" as the first line to come up in the song, would be about frisk on the neutral runs. Then comes Flowey with "held my tounge" for his perspectives on most of the neutral routes" then "Fear is the heart of love" and "So I never went back" are one line apart, representing the player picking one of the extremes to follow, with "In the blackest of rooms" following a king Papyrus run through everyone else's pov, so the end and the furthest from the player.
Now "fear" "and Never" intersect in lyrics. They split the chorus through them. The first part of the chorus stops in the fight with Flowey, to where it goes back to the beginning of the song. New beginnings. And allows me to do a neat thing with the chapter titiles.
"Then I'll follow" was the first variant end for "Fear is the heart of love" (erase) and "I'll follow" is the first varient ending of soulless for "So I never went back" (places to be)
"You" was "do not" and "soulless stay" both endings that NaraChara was a lot less happy at the outcome of, compared to the previous.
"Into the dark" in Fear, features Narachara upset, and preparing to make an offer one should refuse, and in "Never" it features a souless reset (again) with Narachara expressing that they are tired of the indecision.
So while being a part of the song, that is a verse and not chorus, it also ties neatly in with the titles used in the genocide routes.
Like an al coda in music. Up to the player if its a D.S or D.C I think
youtube
Read it in any order you chose really. Just I was doing a thing with its titles, and was trying to detangle it for anyone curious

hi I hope I’m not bothering you but!! I’ve been listening to chess (the original recording w murray head and elaine paige) and I really like it!! I’ve listened to the whole thing a few times but I can’t quite get a grasp on the plot, and google isn’t helping haha. can you please give a summary, maybe song by song or something? only if you want to tho!! feel free to ignore this no worries! I just thought I’d ask you cause you’re the chess mutual TM :]
THIS TURNED OUT SUPER SUPER LONG IM SOOO SORRY
YES YES YES IM THE CHESS MUTUAL >:D asking me about chess makes me POWERFUL!! you’re not bothering me at ALL. the plot varies from production to production, thank you for specifying which one you’re listening to! i’ll give a song by song summary as best i can but know that i have the reading comprehension of a slice of cheese
i’ll be referring to the main characters as “the russian” and “the american” bc thats what the original album does ^_^
merano — opening number, not super plot relevant. the citizens of merano, italy are all happy that their town is the setting of the chess championship. in the middle of the song the american chess champion shows up and sings about what a good chess player he is.
the russian and molokov — introduces, well, the russian challenger, and his second, molokov. this is just a little conversation between them about the american. it makes more sense if you listen to “press conference”, which is a bonus track on the original album, where the american throws a fit and assaults a reporter. but basically molokov is like “see? this dude is fucked” and the russian is like Doubt, and it turns into a conversation about the championship as a whole: molokov views it as a way for the soviet union to assert its dominance over the usa, and the russian is like dude i’m a chess player not a politician
where i want to be — the russian’s first solo number. he reflects on his life in general and how he’s technically gotten everything he ever wanted, but it’s all empty victories. he’s fully aware of his status as a pawn to the ussr.
opening ceremony — a lot happens in this one, and it’s split up into separate tracks in most albums. “the arbiter” introduces the arbiter who’ll be presiding over the matches and ruling the chessboard with an iron fist. “difficult and dangerous times” is a song that i think perfectly encapsulates the spirit of the whole musical: it’s just a game, sure, but neither country wants to be the one that couldn’t even win a game. “the merchandisers” doesn’t move the plot at all but it serves as a little jab at capitalism i guess? basically its just a bunch of people trying to make money off the game. “hymn to chess” is just a little hymn to chess, i guess. sort of like how they always sing the national anthem before a sporting match?
quartet (a model of decorum and tranquility) — between the last song and this one, the first match started, but it never finished, because the american flipped the board and stormed out. this song shows the russian, molokov, the arbiter, and the american’s second florence bickering about what the hell just happened. also the russian calls the american a fruit which isn’t super important but like
the american and florence — florence confronts the american about his behavior. in an incredibly dickish move if i may say, the american turns the conversation to florence’s dead father: “well the ussr killed your dad, didnt they? and i’m against the ussr in this chess match. so by opposing me youre really betraying your dead dad.”
nobody’s side — florence’s first solo number. she reflects on her relationship with the american (which is strictly professional in some productions and explicitly romantic in others; it varies) and how she can’t justify the way he treats her. she comes to the conclusion that she can’t trust him or really anyone; she’s looking out for florence first and foremost.
chess — instrumental :) this tune comes up whenever a chess game is played. over the span of this instrumental break the russian gains a lead of five games to one, which is bad news for the american because the first man to six wins claims the championship.
mountain duet — florence arranges a meeting between herself and both the players, but the american is running late. alone with just the russian, the two of them realize and accept that they have feelings for each other. in a scene that doesn’t appear in this album, the american finally shows up and is naturally very pissed
florence quits — exactly what it says on the tin; florence quits working for the american. the american is obviously mad about this, and is sexist at her for two minutes and 56 seconds
embassy lament — the american has resigned, making the russian world champion. he immediately defects from the ussr to england, with florence. this song is just the consul officers at the embassy being difficult little shits
anthem — the russian explains how “his land’s only borders lie around his heart” and even as he leaves the soviet union he’s still very proudly russian. this ends the first act.
bangkok / one night in bangkok — one year has passed. the next championship is to be held in bangkok, thailand. the american may not be in the game anymore, but he’s employed by global television to report on the championship. this song isn’t super plot relevant but lord if it isn’t catchy.. basically he just shows up in bangkok and rejects all the exciting nightlife in favor of chess. (some productions play the lyrics as sarcasm, with the american enthusiastically having sex with random people and doing coke n shit while claiming his every move’s among the purest)
heaven help my heart — florence reflects on her relationship wifh the russian. she’s afraid of what’s going to happen once the infatuation ends and she’s not something new and exciting for him to play with.
argument — oh, did i mention the russian left a wife in the ussr? cause he left a wife in the ussr. molokov is bringing her out to bangkok. florence is very distressed about all this and the russian is like “the soviet union has played me like a fiddle all my life this is obviously just a trick to mess with me. no biggie. stop worrying. shut up”
i know him so well — a duet between florence and the russian’s wife. the two of them sing about both of their failed relationships with the russian, and how now they know him well enough to know both their relationships were doomed from the start.
the deal (no deal) — molokov wants the russian to throw the match to prove a point about the challenger, a loyal soviet, being a better player than the defecting traitor. so he dangles florence’s father in front of him and says he was alive the whole time in prison, lose the game and i’ll let him out! but he doesn’t say this to him directly, he has the american deliver the message to both the russian and to florence. (in later productions molokov’s character is split into both him and an american, walter de courcey, who’s the one to push the american into this. i think it makes more sense that way, personally.)
pity the child — the american looks at his childhood, and how much of his assholery is due to mommy issues. he finally gets some depth to his character after being a hate sink for an act and a half
endgame — it’s the final match between the russian and the soviet challenger. it’s unclear how much of this song is actually happening and how much of it just represents what’s going on in the russian’s head. but ultimately, he decides that he’s not going to be a pawn to the ussr anymore, so he’s going to win the game. screw florence, screw his wife, he’s doing what he wants.
epilogue: you and i / the story of chess — the russian and florence look back on their relationship. did florence get reunited with her father or was molokov lying, you ask? the concept album leaves it ambiguous. oh yeah and then it ends with an ahistorical tale about the invention of chess
#THIS IS SOSOSOSOO LONG SORRY#LONG POST#VERY LONG POST#i can do a shorter summary and/or clarify anything from this

HOW FOOD IS RULING MY LIFE.
SPOILER ALERT!!! SUPER FOOD SPOTS AROUND THE WORLD IF YOU HAVE THE COURAGE TO READ MORE THAN 3 SENTENCES. Or you can jump right away to the cool tips but that would make me sad. Not that you care, of course.
Food is part of every human being’s life. But is it that big of a deal for everyone as it is for me? I don’t know if I would call myself a “foodie” but I sure have a passionate relationship with food. When I’m hungry, my brain does not function very well. I can’t think clearly, I’m not efficient but most of all, I’m in such a bad mood. Until I eat, I can’t be asked anything. My attitude tends to frighten those around me. I’m just kidding (not that much). I have no control over my tummy! My brain is not in charge here, hence the article’s title. I don’t know if some of you can relate. I hope so…
The same applies in the morning. Until I have had my cup of coffee and had enjoyed my favorite meal of the day: breakfast; I’m not here for anyone.
As Kitty Forman would say: “Honey, this is breakfast. Don’t ask me things.”
Speaking of which, brekkie is truly different in every country but I like them all, I mean, for those I’ve tried. By the way, the guy who invented the “all day breakfast” thing is my hero. Those places are heaven on earth. I’ve got some favorite spots around the world that I’m going to share with you. First of all, Bakers & Roasters in Amsterdam, let me tell you their pancakes with bacon and bananas are to die for and so is their coffee. Then, if you are in L.A., be sure to stop by Blu Jam Café. Your mouth will thank you for their crunchy French toast. Morning Glory’s Soufflé Pancakes in San Diego is also worth a try. The pink atmosphere, the food and the cocktails will bring joy to your Saturday Brunch outing. And finally, I like to go to IHOP. Yes, I do. Their pancakes and burgers won’t disappoint you. It’s the kind of place you find pretty much everywhere on the road and it fulfills my American road trips fantasies, Road 66, diner style and whatnot.
I kind of plan my vacations around food spots. I don’t “kind” of do it, actually. I do it compulsively. My itineraries are based on breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner. I love to try everything local as long as it is not too weird. I do have my limits.
Food is culturally interesting. You can learn a lot by breaking bread with locals. For example, in the south of France, from my experience, you will start with some salad. Main course will always be accompanied by some fresh “baguette” and there will always be a cheese board and some wine to finish up your meal.
When someone invites you over in Italy, be sure to free up your afternoon because you might spend a few hours at his or her table. Italians always cook the most delicious feast! Fresh homemade pasta will certainly be on the menu.
My darling Australian friends, I often think of you. Cheese and crackers fill your appetizer’s table. Your Sunday roast with gravy and tender vegetables reminds me of a fall day when I curl up on the couch watching a movie with my beloved. You also have weird food habits. First Vegemite and then vegemite pizza? Really? What the hell Ossie people?
Wandering the streets in Bangkok and eating off the sidewalk is an authentic and very suspenseful adventure. Thai Street food is like a box of chocolates you never know what you’re gonna get nor if your stomach will get through it.
If I had to rank my favorite food in the world this would be my top 6:
Pizza
Burgers and fries
Dumplings
Pancakes with bacon and gallons of maple syrup of course
Avocado on toast with poached eggs
Pasta of any kind
Yes, six is a weird number for a ranking but I couldn’t bring myself to delete an item from this list. It also makes me feel unique in a way. Anyway. For your taste buds, I am going to share my top 3 best places in the world for every element above.
Best Pizze
Via Napoli, Sydney (La vera pizza napoletana)
Di Fara Pizza, Brooklyn (New York Style)
Pizza d’Asporto, Yarraville Melbourne
Best Burgers
In-N-Out Burger
Whataburger
Shake Shack
Best Dumplings
Yank Sing, San Francisco
Jade Restaurant, Austin
Hutong Dumpling Bar, Melbourne
Best Pancakes
Bakers & Roasters, Amsterdam
Morning Glory, San Diego
IHOP
Best Pasta
My grandpa’s pasta. Italian roots oblige. Actually, I have never eaten amazing pasta except in Italy but pasta’s always better at home, especially when you have family recipes from your great grandparents.
Pasta al Cinghiale, Il Boschetto Calvi dell'Umbria
Pastificio Guerra, Roma
What are your top 6 favorite foods in the world? I’m curious. I love discovering new places. Maybe this will help me choose my next destination!
If you’d like me to share more, I’d be happy to. Name your destination in the comments and maybe I’ll have a suggestion. I’ve visited more countries than I’ve shared in this article so don’t hesitate!

@imreallyloveleee:
This is way too long to send in a prompt, but I just heard the SADDEST song I’ve ever heard in my entire life, and, while I know “woeful/sorrow” isn’t your brand, if you’re still looking for prompts—
"I Will Follow You Into The Dark"
Love of mine, someday you will die
But I'll be close behind
I'll follow you into the dark
No blinding light or tunnels to gates of white
Just our hands clasped so tight
Waiting for the hint of a spark
If Heaven and Hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the No's on their vacancy signs
If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark
In Catholic school as vicious as Roman rule
I got my knuckles bruised by a lady in black
I held my tongue as she told me
"Son, fear is the heart of love"
So I never went back
If Heaven and Hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the No's on their vacancy signs
If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark
You and me have seen everything to see
From Bangkok to Calgary
And the soles of your shoes are all worn down
The time for sleep is now
But it's nothing to cry about
'Cause we'll hold each other soon
In the blackest of rooms
If Heaven and Hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the No's on their vacancy signs
If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark
Here’s the link if you want to listen to the sheer devastation for inspiration.
Side note** I’m well aware I could have just said, “I Will Follow You Into the Dark” by Death Cab or just...sent you this in a message— but damnit if the world doesn’t need to be notified that this song is floating around in existence to break your gd heart on a Monday morning. 😭😭
Sider note** you really don’t have to do this. It’s bittersweet and depressing, but it would make a great story to bum people out with. Just sayin’.
#saddness!#oh the saddness on my radio today!!!!!#break my effin’ heart!!!#death cab for cutie#but this was a cover#fanfiction#prompts

opening credits: Midnight Moon - Oh Wonder“You with the sad smile, don’t lose your courage, courageDance in the high tide and don’t be worried, worriedYour soul’s in a wild fire, feel it beating, beating, b-beatingDreams on a gold wire, won’t you believe it, believe it?We’re all animals out in the darkGot a feeling that we’re all believing inNot waiting for daylight to startWe’re over the moon, over the midnight moon”meeting for the first time: All Night - Walk The Moon”Things are changing around me, but II feel the same insideI’m getting older, not getting wiserIt’s got me up all nightRunning in circles, hunting huntersHurry up and wait in lineI just want to meet somebodyAre you the one who will take me there? Are you the one who will treat me right?I’m not afraid of your bluest flameBeen burnt before, but I’m roaring inside ”
hey, i kinda like you: Shut Up and Dance - Walk the Moon”We were victims of the nightThe chemical, physical, kryptonite…She took my armI don’t know how it happenedWe took the floor and she said‘Shut up and dance with me’This woman is my destiny”i’m going to kiss you now: Something Just Like This - The Chainsmokers & Coldplay“I’ve been reading books of old The legends and the myths Achilles and his gold, Hercules and his gifts…And clearly I don’t see myself upon that listBut she said…‘I’m not looking for somebody With some superhuman gifts. Some superhero, some fairytale bliss. Just something I can turn to. Somebody I can kiss.’”falling in love: Livewire - Oh Wonder”I’ve been depending on the overgrownToo many lovers that I’ll never knowCounting my losses as I let them goHeavy the water as I sink belowI’ve been pretending all my shots are blownCover my heart up never let it showOh won’t you be my livewire?Make me feel like I’m set on fireYour love will take me higher and higher”your place or mine: Shootout - This Love“Apartment 24, 1st floor It’s the third door on your rightI give a knock, she lets me in I head back as she kills all the lightsSo familiar, I can’t pretend these fights are the last I will see This world’s a battlefield It’s time to tear down and use our souls to believeWe live, we lie, we love, we die And then we, we do it all it again It’s a shootout war, for so much moreThan just a couple scars on our skin”naked in bed: Body Gold - Oh Wonder“Before you came ‘round my heart would never beat much fasterBefore you came 'round I was ready to slow down…Now my soul beats a sound loud enough to quiet the thunderA love with no doubt and now I’m never gonna slow downLet it go, paint my body goldTake our bodies higher and higher and higherWe can go until the morning glowWe can go higher and higher and higher”first fight: Story of Us - Taylor Swift“Oh, a simple complication, Miscommunications lead to fall-out. So many things that I wish you knew. So many walls up I can’t break through. Now I’m standing alone in a crowded room and we’re not speaking. And I’m dying to know is it killing you like it’s killing me, yeah? I don’t know what to say, since the twist of fate when it all broke down, And the story of us looks a lot like a tragedy now.
The battle’s in your hands now,But I would lay my armour downIf you said you’d rather love than fight.”maybe we should take a break: Drive - Oh Wonder”But I can’t help but drive away from all the mess you madeYou sent this hurricane now it won’t go awayAnd I promised I’d be there but you don’t make it easyDarling please believe me‘Cause loving you, loving you is too hardAll I do, all I do’s not enough…Loving you, loving you leaves me hurtAll I do, all I do is get burnt” i want you back: Sometime Around Midnight - The Airborne Toxic Event/Tiger Teeth - Walk the Moon“As you stand, under the bar lightsAnd the band plays some songAbout forgetting yourself for a whileAnd the piano’s this melancholy soundtrack to her smileAnd that white dress she’s wearingYou haven’t seen her for a while”…“If you only take one step closerI could reach the zipper on your dressWe’re leaning out over the waterAnd we’re holding our breathGive in, give in. I want you backOne heart, one too many to stomachLove bites so deep, and we got tiger teeth”will you marry me: Alive - Adelitas Way”And I feel alive when I’m with youEvery time is something newNever knew what love could feel likeUntil I walked away the first time…You’re the only reason I fightYou’re the best thing in my life”we’re getting older: Heart Hope - Oh Wonder”They’re building aeroplanes faster than the speed of light Yet it don’t bother me The endless cities multiplying out oceansize Yet it don’t bother meI know we’ve gotta outgrow and feel a little heart hope Cause there is something more than everything So feel the love and let it in”if you die i’ll go with you: I Will Follow You Into the Dark - Death Cab for Cutie“If heaven and hell decide that they both are satisfiedIlluminate the no’s on their vacancy signsIf there’s no one beside you when your soul embarksThen I’ll follow you into the darkYou and me have seen everything to see From Bangkok to Calgary And the soles of your shoes are all worn down The time for sleep is now“end credits: Second Chances - Gregory Alan Isakov“All of my heroes sit up straightThey stare at the ground, they radiate…I’m some sick hound, digging for bonesIf it weren’t for second chances, we’d all be aloneOh my heart was all black, but I saw something shineThought that part was yours, but it might just be mineI could share it with you, if you gave me the timeI’m all bloody knuckles, longing for homeIf it weren’t for second chances, we’d all be alone“

biker!got7
PART TWO (a.u)
SEE PART ONE HERE
or’: in which dumb7 like to think they’re the new local gang and should be considered badass just because they got a bunch of bikes off ebay that were on sale and now they pretend to take beatdown requests. tip: don’t trust maknae line to be on their own.
warnings: mentions of bars/paid violence/gangs, vulgar language, lots of crack actually
○ | see more of my aus here | ○
youngjae:
• signature items: dentist voucher card 2 at the price of 1 for teeth whitening + smiley face fake earring
• cutest biker you’ll ever meet w a smile so pure that u start to feel bad for that time you forgot to give a pencil back in 3rd grade that is the youngjae effect© • he lets little kids around the neighborhood put cute stickers and flowers on his motorcycle and it’s the cutest thing he gets so happy when he sees a new lilly on the handle he actually has a flower chain all over the front and everyone envies him • and no the background sound you just heard wasn’t jackson screaming that little kids won’t come near him as they cling onto yj’s leg nope (that cursed honda...,,) • everyone loves him like this is certified u exist u love youngjae these are the rules but grannies are especially in love w him • once said a bad word and the whole group panicked and put youngjae into quarantine bc they thought they were losing him to ~the plague~ • he goes to buy them bread every morning and delivers them w his bike and then in the afternoon they race each other yj with his motorcycle and the grannies w their scooters except poor so rin whose husband always goes to afternoon ‘strolls’ w it so he takes her on the back of his bike and ends up losing bc of that like 99% of the time • sunday night it’s break from fight night bc he goes to play bingo with them and takes the rest of got7 and they are the most excited whenever someone yells bingo even tho it’s not their boy (tip: youngjae has no idea about bingo to this day) • met the grannies at the dentist as he was getting his teeth whitened and they bonded over weird mumblings and random swallows and trying to communicate while having multiple people’s hands in their mouths at the same time and he just can’t let them go • now he may look innocent & pure but listen up ok,,,,listen here,,,,,,,,,,he rly is • except maybe that one time when he bumped into a stranger and didn’t apologize and jesus fucking christ it haunted him for weeks like he would decline when offered lucky charms bc he failed his #code and g o d so he’s not worthy of receiving happiness • he’s supposed to be the one who beats people up but he’s the poodle and the only infernal thing is other gangs’ desire to protect this flower man • wears fluffy socks bc he gets cold feet easily • every time a member is sad said member wakes up with a stuffed bear wearing a leather jacket next to him in bed but “no one” knows who puts them there cause stuffy’s mama didn’t raise a snitch
bambam:
• signature items: puppy photos to appease the gods + shea butter hand cream
• the whole city knows him like they hear the word ‘bam’ and this guy pops into their heads 5 mins later the streets are deserted • cue in confused baby bam coming up the street on his bike like ‘:( where is everyone i wanted to show them my new pastel pink mickey mouse socks i bet jihyo would’ve liked them’ so he just takes polaroids of them and puts them in everyone’s mailbox as tokens of his affection • has sometimes troubles with parking his motorcycle bc he can’t rlly hold it perfectly always to park it and yugyeom just jumps out of the bushes like ‘here i come to halp worry not my small noodle man’ • the first one to reject jaebum’s “infernal poodles” idea • ”hyung do you want us to be the laughingstock of the neighborhood we can’t name ourselves infernal poodles that’s so 3rd grade let’s go for malevolent west highland white terriers” - triggered bam 2k17 while holding his pinky up bc he has #class “don’t encourage him u nuthead”
• you’d think he would stop dabbing at some point but nope he’s a professional dabber born&raised™ nearly crashed his yamaha into jackson once while dabbing and the poor guy has never been the same • like really he would literally get his collection of gold holy crosses out and start spewing latin exorcism chants whenever dumb bam raised his hands • once dabbed in a rly shabby bar bc the beat was lit and punched this shawn michaels wannabe in the face and started a bloody (literally) fight which ended up w/ yug dragging everyone to the hospital bc he was the only one who hadn’t fought (bless his tiny bladder) • PAW patrol enthusiast made everyone dress up as the characters during halloween (he nearly passed out after channeling his inner tarzan to fight mark bc i aM GONNA BE SKYE U PIECE OF PUP POOP-) then forced them to sing the op whilst searching for roaming ghosts bc he also wanted to be ray from ghostbusters (but like ~cooler~ and on a bike) • sneak master from bangkok hides in the shadows to take aesthetic pics of these rly hipster looking guys (like, living in the sewerage bc we don’t believe in homes hipster) smoking bc he may be soft and squishy but his insta theme is #edgyweedaddictbiker even tho he freaks out whenever someone says ‘mary’ • wanted to decorate his bike w/ some rly cute & rly glittery & not badass at all baby animals stickers but jaebum caught him and confiscated them and now bambam goes all (๑´╹‸╹`๑) whenever they’re alone in a room
• (”but hyung, they fit our aesthetic!!!”
“how in the heavens do a bunch of black kittens represent us”
“...they mean bad luck??”) =>> jaeshook needed like 10 mins and an ear pull from jinyoung to compose himself • has noticed that jb lets youngjae have stickers on his motorcycle bc ‘the kids put it there’ so he tries that too but jaebum is like ‘oh yea and please tell me where do this kids find yellow glittery stickers with baby camels on them’ ‘it’s mustard goddammit hyung’)
• he’s the sacrificial lamb whenever the guys wanna get in a fight like rly they might lowkey want him to get beaten so that he’ll become T O U G H • and all he can do is stand in front of these big&buffed up men like ‘pls don’t hurt the child i can do the cooks they call me bambam bc my maple syrup pancakes are yumyum’ • insert housewife!bambam making muscly man breakfast for those big ass guys resulting in them being all friends!!amigos!!comrades!!! who are in love with bambam • bambam receiving black roses (bc red roses are for pussies) every 2 weeks from the dudes in return!!!! (also guess what’s the sole reason why nobody messes with his gang) • always pretends that he hadn’t noticed that his instagram captions are my chemical romance lyrics added by jaebum,,, but,, he knows,, • and now he might have welcome to the black parade saved to his phone but what jb doesn’t know won’t hurt him
yugyeom:
• signature items: fur turtlenecks + XL skinny jeans ( the xl stands for extra leggy) • wears heavy clothes so he thinks they make him look shorter (but rly they just turn him into this cheap & memey version of slenderman bc he just can’t get the tentacle part right) • the neighborhood kids start crying whenever they see him on his bike and yj has to spend like 5 hours trying to calm them down and then 5 more to console • but rly he’s just an overgrown puppy in need of love and when he doesn’t receive enough he just wraps his arms and legs around someone like ‘hi it me the friendly octopus may our love prevail and may you never escape our - not gay at all what are you talking about we’re bros, bro - embrace~’ • he would write these super poetic poems about love & adoration and all that mushy mushy fluffy shit and then read them to the others (insert: distressed members trying to keep at least their sexuality straight bc they sure as hell can’t do that with their bikes) but then he adds ‘bro’ at the end and the magic dissipates and everyone is reminded that they keep him around just bc he looks rly ominous in the dark + he’s tall so he keeps other gangs away • goes home complaining to his hyungs about him just lightly pushing a bad guy to set him off and then said guy punched him in the face and he feels extremely wronged • ‘yeah i started it but he didn’t have to hit me so hard’ • usually complains at the dinner table and uses the kitchen utensils in his hand gestures and knocks some plates down and that is where he really catches those hands from mark and jinyoung • the members sometimes call him daddy long legs so at night he pretends he’s the babadook and hides in their closets just to mess with them bc he can • and after he startles them he’s like ‘why did you -hyung stop screaming it’s just me- why did you think it was ok to put the cereal on the bottom shelf you know i never notice things that are below my arms’ ((lmao he never gets an answer bc jackson always faints)) • at first he didn’t want to join the gang because that meant buying a motorcycle and he couldn’t do that bc when he was 13 his parents bought him this rly snazzy™ bike for his bday - a few months later and he couldn’t use it anymore bc he’s grown out of it and he’s been scarred ever since so now he thinks that bikes make him grow taller & he fears that one day he might crush his smol friends while stepping on them • ok but like grannies love him tho bc he’s lean, strong & can carry things =>> he’s like perfect grandson material and when he’s not around they can’t stop gushing about him and yj is on the verge of crying every time bc this is so beautiful this is what he lives for and he sometimes records them and plays the recording when he’s sad and can’t sleep • has troubles with talking back to his hyungs and sometimes gets smacked without deserving it bc jb think’s he’s being sarcastic but that’s just his voice give the boy a break • during the winters he wears this weird ass fur coat that jb got him from the same dealer and he puts it on w a serious expression before the fights and acts like he’s jon snow and sometimes does it during jy’s negociations too but always gets the references wrong and told the barman during closing time that he shall not pass ((someone save him.mp3))

UFO seekers are flocking to a huge Buddha statue in Thailand saying it is home to a wormhole that aliens use to travel to different dimensions
A group of Buddhist worshippers on a remote hilltop in Thailand believe that aliens communicate with people in the area. Khao Kala in Nakhon Sawan — which translates to "City of Heaven" — is located just three hours north of Bangkok and has become a hotspot for tourists looking to experience the supernatural. The remote area is located on a hill among a sugar cane plantation. Believers say the hill hides a secret wormhole that allows aliens from Pluto and elsewhere to travel between different dimensions. As alien seekers flock to the area, local police are becoming increasingly frustrated. Officers have recently raided the area and expressed concern that the influx of tourism could endanger the protected forests. There is no substantive evidence that the site has supernatural or alien qualities. Alien tourism appears to be gaining popularity around the world, and some offbeat travelers believe that a remote hilltop in Thailand holds the key to connecting with the extraterrestrial world. Khao Kala in Nakhon Sawan — which translates to "City of Heaven" — is located just three hours north of the Thai capital Bangkok, and has become a hotspot for tourists looking to experience the supernatural. Several news outlets, including CNN and Vice, have recently traveled to the area, where some people believe humans can telepathically communicate with aliens. The hill is located amongst a sugar cane plantation, and, according to the Bangkok Post, believers in the supernatural site say it hides a secret wormhole that allows aliens to travel between different dimensions. Believers practice meditation at Hill 145, where a giant Buddha statue sits below a statue of a seven-headed snake. Several other Buddhist statues, including one called "Buddha's Footprint" stand nearby. Somjit Raepeth, a member of Khao Kala group or UFO Khao Kala, a group that believes that the area possesses supernatural qualities, told the Post in 2015 that members practice strict Buddhist principles and were able to contact aliens from Pluto and another planet called Logu Kata Paka Tigong, located somewhere in the Milky Way. "They have high virtues and morals," she told the Post. "The only way to make contact with them is to practice dhamma (Buddhist teachings) to the highest levels." According to CNN, followers of the ideology believe that people can hear the aliens through meditation, and have described the aliens as "slender, little, silvery humanoids." Some followers have reported seeing UFOs and silhouettes of figures on the hilltop, while others say they were actually spun around by alien powers. There is no substantive evidence that the site has supernatural or alien qualities, or, of course, that aliens exist. Wassana Chuensamnaun, a lead campaigner for the extraterrestrials, told CNN that aliens from Pluto "are made of energy" and have expressed concern about devastation on Earth. Loku aliens, he says, have "knowledge of high technology" and present in physical form. He says Pluto's alien leader claimed Buddha was the "greatest human mind." According to local daily Khao Sod, a member of UFO Khao Kala predicted that World War III would break out by 2022. Wassana told CNN that aliens have promised to take care of a select few "survivors" in the event of such fallout. Yahoo ! Moore said some had suggested police were somehow involved. Sherrilyn Ifill, the defense fund's president, said Monday that it is critical to public confidence in the criminal justice system that witnesses who speak out against police violence are fully protected. Ifill said she supports the call by Jean's family for a comprehensive federal investigation of the Dallas Police Department. “The circumstances surrounding the murder of Mr. Brown cries out for answers,” Ifill said. It was an interesting experience. I had all of these "symptoms." Once I cleared the first couple weeks I did feel like I had way more energy and was sleeping better. Since then we have researched how much added sugar is in everything and that is a huge part of the problem. We have now shifted to more of a "real food" diet. We added in apples and bananas and a few other carb specific foods. Most of the time we stay away from added sugar (read the label, you'll be shocked to see how it's in everything). Fats are not nearly as bad for you as sugar is. That was one of the great scams of the past 50 years that has lead to the obesity epidemic. Ellen DeGeneres addresses George W. In September, authorities and forestry officials returned again and confronted Wassana, along with others at the site, according to CNN. The Hangover was always a silly movie. Never understood why people would do such stupid things or how they could even find shit like they did in Bangkok.
Well… now I understand.
Bangkok is not your typical city. Old traditions blend with new, rising trends and cultures. You used to be able to tell the difference between a man and woman, but now it’s not so easy. It should be, right?
Nah, some of those dudes pull off being a woman too well. They even pull it off better than some of us women; including me.
Usually, you can tell if it’s a man. You’ve got the square jaw, broad shoulders, big hands, and over compensation of trying to fit in too much. The one’s in Bangkok will make you question though. Some of the ones who are an actual woman look like men.
So how the hell can you tell? Easy… stay away from Thais for the most part unless you know 100%.
Anyways, that’s besides my point at this moment.
Never before would I have thought I’d have a night out in Bangkok. All of the teachers decided to head into the big city to celebrate one of our friend’s birthday. We wanted to party until the cows come home, and we did pretty much that.
Friday seemed to drag on. We weren’t doing anything save for watching kids practice for sports day. It seemed to take forever. We just wanted to get going and hit the road.
Finally, we got to do just that. Everyone seemed to be running late, and Sophie and I were ready to just leave them if they didn’t show up. The bus was set to leave at 5 PM, and if we hit the next one who knows when we would get into Bangkok.
Eventually, we all got together at the bus station and made our way down. It seemed to take forever. In reality, it kind of did…
Here’s the thing, in Thailand these buses seem to only reach a max speed of 60 kph. There are the rare occasions they hit 80 kph, but that’s few and far. For us Americans, that’s about 40 mph (AKA slow as hell!). Texans are used to driving 75 – 85 mph. We’ve got places to go and no time to waste. Thailand doesn’t run like that. They seem to have all the time in the world here.
Since it was Friday, and there was a holiday Monday, everyone was out on the road. What should’ve taken us about 2 1/2 hours ended up taking us 3 1/2.
We were all tired, cramped, hungry, and ready to get going. Energy was quickly slipping away. It didn’t help that earlier that week, and that day, I had the major shits. I was taking Imodium tablets to help me get through the days. I don’t know if it was some kind of food I ate or a bug, but it was not helping me one bit. The entire bus ride I was worried I was going to shit my pants. Then about an hour in I had to pee.
Great, right?
Yeah, the others found out a bit of my bad side. By the time the bus reached the station, I had a headache, my bladder was about to burst, I was hungry, and if I didn’t reach a restroom soon I was going to blow.
When we got off the bus everyone wanted to stand around trying to figure out what to do. I was in no mood to wait, so I started yelling to go and then pushed my way forward and walked fast to that restroom. I felt bad, but the relief I felt when I finally went was worth it. My bladder hurt for the next few hours it was so full.
Next thing we had to tackle were the taxis. We got a couple and headed to the hostel. We lost the guys in the other one, but they eventually found us.
When the taxi dropped us off, the girls and I were a bit confused. We expected to see the hostel in broad view. Peter took us across the street, then started to go down an alley. Bikes, trash, random people, and stray cats covered it. There were puddles of water, people cooking, and it looked as if we were about to head to a brothel. This had to be one of the sketchiest areas I’ve seen since I’ve been in Thailand. We turned down another alley way with a large purple building and saw the sign for the Compound halfway down.
Never would I have thought to find this place there. Surprisingly though, it was quite nice. The staff was friendly and everything seemed pretty clean. I’ve heard staying in hostels were nice, but refused to try it on my own. White girl alone in the big city and staying in a hostel? Not such a good idea. That’s why I was completely glad to go here with a large group.
We took some time to get ready, and then headed out to Khao San Road (about a 10 minute walk). I had a new dress, put on some makeup for once, and was ready! We were all ready to have a few drinks after the week we had.
Everyone was looking at us. We were white people wandering about in Bangkok at night. We stuck out like a sore thumb. One of the other teachers, Alan, made a comment about how I could actually cleaned up nicely. Not something you want to hear all the time…
I wanted to turn to him and tell him how huge of an ass he was or how he wasn’t that good looking either. But, instead, I punched his arm “lightly” and joked with him saying, “you asshole” when I really wanted to say you can shove it up your ass.
I’ll save you some time… I had more people flirting with me that night by far than he did. Karma’s a bit of a bitch.
In Thailand, it’s normally too hot to put on makeup for school every day. You’re up in front of the class yelling, walking around, the humidity clings to you, and you’re sweating a majority of the time. Yeah, I’m not going to put makeup on a whole lot.
Anyways, we were all starving and it took forever for people to figure out what to eat since we all wanted to accommodate each other. All I knew is that once I saw a Burger King I knew what I wanted.
I had not had decent meat since the first day I arrived in Thailand and a good burger sounded amazing. Most fast food places here taste a bit different, but Burger King was pretty close to what we got back home. It hit the spot and the beef was amazing! It was worth the 400 baht. I would gladly pay that again the next time I’m in Bangkok.
Some of the teachers had some Thai food and others got McDonald’s. After eating, we all met up and hit up some of the bars on Khao San Road.
Now let me tell you now, the prices are a bit expensive. They know foreigners are coming in with money. For them it might be cheap, but if you’re living on a Thai paycheck it’s a bit much. A drink can cost anywhere from 80 – 500 baht, sometimes even up to 1000 baht depending on what you get and where you go.
Khao San Road is crowded with people, street vendors, and food. You can try things such as scorpion or crickets, or you can head over to the next stall and pick up a gorgeous dress. Whatever your preference, you’re sure to find something on this road.
The first bar we hit up was the Golf Bar. It’s a great place to start off the night. For about 400 baht you can get a bucket filled with your poison. Since I wasn’t keen on drinking a lot too quickly, I splurged and got a Jack and Coke. For a Texan, this was heaven! I’ve missed good whisky so much. Thailand seems to focus on Scotch whiskies or Hong Tong (blended spirits).
All of us had a good time listening to music, talking, and dancing. We met up with a few other people and had even more fun. There was a Scottish and a Finnish guy. Their accents were wonderful!
As the night continued throngs of people flooded into the bar and crowded the street. Eventually, we ended up dancing, drinking, and smoking outside the bar. Each song struck a cord and we all went crazy.
When you’re out doing things like this, you never have a clue who you’ll meet. In fact, I met another girl from America. She had just moved to Austin when I had just moved out of there. It was such a funny coincidence. What was even funnier was when I learned her name later that night… Sammy. Yeah, who would’ve thought the two people from Texas with the same name and lived in the same spots would be in Bangkok on Khao San Road that night?
It wasn’t long before we were all sweating and the hair went up. To be honest, I don’t know how people can get drunk sometimes with it being so hot in Thailand (that is until I got drunk the next night in Pattaya haha).
We needed to change things up and head into some place cool. The club next door advertised air conditioning, dance floor, and great music.
Count me in! All you had to do was say air conditioning, and I’d be more than happy to pay the cover fee.
The cover fee was about 100 baht, but this included a free drink from the bar, so it kind of paid for itself. The area was great. There was a large Christmas tree and a huge dance floor. People stood up on the stage dancing, green strobe lights echoed through the room, and the atmosphere was alive.
We met up with some of the people from the previous bar and continued our drinking. This place was yet another one where I decided to splurge on a drink. I wasn’t going all out with beers, so I decided to spend a bit more for fewer. I got a Black Russian for about 400 baht and it tasted amazing. It was worth the price for some good liquor. You get tired of drinking beer and cheap stuff after awhile here.
I met up with the Irish guy from before and continued to talk. It was easy to spot he was a player. He was all over the women, and I know how Irish guys can be. They may be sweet, but they’re also smooth talking as I found out in Edinburgh.
At one point, I kept feeling like someone was watching me. Turns out someone was. The Finnish guy from earlier was there. At this point, I knew everyone had enough drinks so I became bold enough to walk over and start a conversation. If all else failed, I could lie and say I was drunk like them even though I had only a few drinks.
We had a few good conversations, but that was about it. To be honest, I had fun flirting with some of the guys. We were all out for a good time and needed a break from hectic work schedules or tiny towns.
At the end of the night, we all headed back to the hostel and hit the sack. I was glad the room was cold, because it was a perfect way to end the night. All snuggled up in a blanket and decent bed.
The next morning, the gang split up. Some of us stayed in Bangkok, others left for home, and Sophie and I headed off to Pattaya.
Before we left, we hit up a good place for some breakfast. It was about a 20 minute walk from the hostel and had food that wasn’t completely Thai. We got our fill of scrambled eggs and toast and Sophie got her bacon (though the bacon wasn’t exactly what she expected). It was definitely not your typical flavor or style. The restaurant was small, but quick and efficient.
It wasn’t long before we got a taxi and hit up the bus station for Pattaya!
One Night in Bangkok The Hangover was always a silly movie. Never understood why people would do such stupid things or how they could even find shit like they did in Bangkok.
