5k on treadmill with a Flo Rida playlist. This dude, so motivating!
Some dogs walks
Worked late & watched Mom's TV with her afterwards. Talked on the phone to my friend at work.
Slept shitty. But I am up and tackling the day.... am considering some different things to do today.... treadmill mileage challenge? Might be a good day for that. Rainy here so maybe I could have treadmill breaks. Idk we will see.

How many calories per day do I need to burn to lose weight?
To lose weight, you need to create a calorie deficit by burning more calories than you consume. The specific number of calories you need to burn per day for weight loss depends on various factors, including your current weight, age, gender, height, activity level, and metabolism. However, a general guideline is to aim for a calorie deficit of 500-1,000 calories per day to lose 0.5-1 kilogram (1-2 pounds) per week.
To determine your approximate calorie needs for weight loss, you can follow these steps:
Calculate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR): This is the number of calories your body needs to perform basic functions at rest. Several online BMR calculators can help you estimate this value based on your age, gender, weight, and height.
Consider your activity level: Multiply your BMR by an activity factor to account for your daily physical activity. Sedentary individuals may use a factor of 1.2, while moderately active people might use 1.5-1.7. If you're highly active or participate in intense exercise regularly, you may use a higher factor.
Create a calorie deficit: Subtract 500-1,000 calories from your total daily energy expenditure (calculated in step 2) to determine your daily calorie goal for weight loss. However, be cautious not to excessively restrict calories, as it's important to provide your body with enough nutrients for overall health.
It's worth noting that weight loss is not solely about calorie counting. It's crucial to prioritize the quality of your food choices, include a variety of nutrients, and maintain a balanced and sustainable approach to your overall lifestyle. Consulting a healthcare professional or registered dietitian can provide personalized guidance based on your specific needs and circumstances.

As an addendum to this because I've heard it before from my friends:
No, you don't have to 'try something new'. Trying something new is for the rare occasion you can afford to eat out. When I went to a dietician one of the first things she told me was that people generally, habitually, have up to twelve favourite dishes they cycle through.
Up to twelve. That is, you'll probably have fewer. And you'll probably have a handful of super-favourites you make more than others, and a couple of easy-makes for nights you Just Cannot.
Knowing this really helped my sense of weird-ass guilt about 'oh but don't I have to make sure I'm getting enough variation --'
I mean yeah variation helps the appetite. But you're better off having a handful of dishes you know and love than constantly stressing yourself out trying to ~broaden your horizons~ or some bullshit. This especially goes if you were ever told you were a picky eater.
The vast majority of the food I cook is 'baked meat with steamed veggies and salt'. And a choice between four or five seasoning blends.
Look, you don't have to reinvent the wheel every time you cook. Pick the foods you like and balance the fibre and the protein and you're basically done.
i hate to say it but. the healthy eating people are kinda onto something. if you can figure out a way to get all your greens and proteins and fiber in ways that taste good to you you start to prefer the healthy option over junk food 7/10 times

So.... did the math. 50 pounds in 6 months is a healthy weight loss goal of 2 lbs a week.
That is fantastic! And so so so so so achievable!!
At the gym now, about to head in. Current intake for today is 160 c = 1 Premier Protein Shake. (I was going to do lunch at Panera, plenty of healthy options. But they were beyond packed and their drive thru was closed!)
I have food at home and went shopping this morning. Got lots of single serving snacks and some additional supplements. I didn't buy anything that I went overboard on in the past. I am trying hard not to demonize fruit (after keto, you know how it is).
I did get some no sugar pancake mix and baking mix. Plan to make myself a nice holiday treat. But they have to be baked so they can't really be used if I am in a disassociate binge state.
Woo! To the GYM!

Unraveling the Reasons Behind Increasing Belly Fat
In today's fast-paced world, the battle against belly fat has become a common concern for many individuals. Accumulation of excess fat around the abdomen not only affects our appearance but also poses various health risks. Understanding the reasons behind increasing belly fat is crucial in order to develop effective strategies for its reduction. In this article, we will delve into the primary factors contributing to belly fat and suggest proven methods to help you shed those unwanted pounds.
Reasons for Increasing Belly Fat:
Sedentary Lifestyle: Leading a sedentary lifestyle, characterized by prolonged periods of sitting or inactivity, is one of the main culprits behind the increase in belly fat. Lack of physical activity slows down metabolism, resulting in fewer calories being burned. Consequently, excess calories are stored as fat, particularly around the abdominal area.
Poor Diet: Consuming a diet high in processed foods, sugary beverages, saturated fats, and refined carbohydrates can contribute significantly to belly fat accumulation. These unhealthy food choices not only provide empty calories but also spike blood sugar levels, leading to increased fat storage.
Hormonal Imbalances: Hormonal imbalances can play a significant role in belly fat deposition. In particular, an excess of the stress hormone cortisol can lead to an increase in abdominal fat. Chronic stress triggers the release of cortisol, which promotes the storage of fat, especially in the abdominal region.

Taking a moment to dump some thoughts in the quiet.
I did CBD last night and added at least 500 calories to an otherwise great day.
I had 3 mini quest bars. 240 cals there. 2 of those were eaten in the middle of the night.
Those are my last quest bars. I am not buying protein bars for a bit. I have a brand called nugo left. They are good but not as hyperpalatable as these other ones [my favorites are quest choc chip cookie dough & gnc lean bar Samoa cookie]. The plan is just to not buy this shit anymore. If I want one, I have to go out and buy one. One. Bahahaha.
Why? Why am I bent on self sabotage?
It took about 110-120 pounds lost for people to notice ANYTHING. And once they did, my results slowed to a fucking crawl. I am so pissed about that and have been trying to get things going again.
I am ready to change my header to 130 pounds down.
What is the deal with People noticing that makes me self-sabotage?
By most charts, a healthy weight for me would be 120. So my goal isn't set too low. I am not dangerously skinny but... idk.... people and their fucking comments. It is like once I just noticed I freak out internally and stepped up the self sabotage game.
So shit.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to level up when you are mid weight loss? Especially with night eating?
Things I have recently changed:
-trying to sit in the living room instead of the dining room. [Longer walk for snacks]
-more tea, especially green & oolong, yerva mate.
-trying to peddle on the recumbent bike during cbd time
-more games/scrabble (trying to keep busy since I can't always leave the house)
-listening to some subliminals
Things I am focusing on continuing:
- hydration
-konjac jelly, sf popsicles, sf jolly ranchers & werther's
-regular exercise
-cardio AND resistance
-fiber
-BCAAs
-Coffee. I love coffee.
-gum
Things I am procrastinating on:
-school
-books. My reading list is ever long and ever growing. I have a million books, including diet books.
-getting rid of clothes I spent real money one. The recent shopping trips have helped nudge that in the right direction.
-cleaning my office
-rearranging my bookshelves
-setting up the new TV
-getting a strapless bra

Halloween Treats
Tumblr media
Trent (right) and Derek (left) took pride in their status as fitness influencers. The young gay couple happily posting their daily adventures and travels to share with their growing fanbase. And the two certainly made sure to drop just enough thirst traps to get people paying attention. They offered supplements, online training, diet recommendations etc. to their customers. And on Halloween, they offered some strong opinions.
“You may be tempted by all the junk food,” Trent said, while walking with his boyfriend, “But if you want a body like this, you gotta resist.” He flexes his bicep to really drive home the point.
“Healthy habits start young.” Derek continues, “Which is why this year, we’re not handing out junk. We’ll be offering healthy choices.”
The two smiled and Trent gives his boyfriend a quick kiss on the cheek. Night came quick, and the two boyfriends happily handed out their healthy snacks to the hordes of trick-or-treaters. A few gave dirty looks, while others outwardly expressed their dismay at the lack of candy. But Trent and Derek felt good. The night was winding down and the two sat on the couch, watching TV. When the doorbell rang, they grabbed their healthy snacks and got ready to greet another trick-or-treater. But when they opened the door, there was no one there. Just two candy bars on their welcome mat.
“Odd.” Trent comments, “What’s this?”
“Oh it’s been awhile since I’ve had one of these.” Derek smiles, holding up the candy bar, “I used to love these when I was a kid.”
“We should probably just toss it.”
“Aw come on, babe.” Derek says, “We’re good all year.”
And before Trent could get another word in, Derek took a bite. A big smile formed on his face and Trent couldn’t help but laugh. His boyfriend was right- they could afford one treat. The two closed the door and went back to the couch, where Trent opened his candy bar. And when he bit into it, he felt a wave of euphoria wash over him. A smile forming on his handsome face.
“Oh wow, that’s good.” Trent mumbles, looking over at his boyfriend. Derek was licking his fingers, having finished his candy bar.
“I kinda want another.” Derek mumbles.
Trent goes to say something, but he pauses. There’s something off about Derek. Since when did his boyfriend have stubble? And did his face look rounder?
“Hey...”
“Ugh, its so warm in here.” Derek continues, pulling off his shirt.
Trent gasps when he sees his boyfriend’s torso. His chiseled abs were covered in a layer of soft fat. His firm pecs were starting to sag. A waft of pungent BO fills Trent’s nostrils.
“Babe?” Trent asks, eyes still wide.
“What...?” Derek looks down and gasps, “Oh my god!” His hands move to his growing abdomen and he gasps as they fill with his growing gut, “Babe! What’s happening...”  He belches and his gut pushes out even further.
“I don’t...” Trent winces when he feels his stomach grumble, “No... oh god no...” He whispers as he removes his shirt and looks down.
His eyes aren’t met by his usual Greek god physique. Instead, he stares at his expanding abdomen, as layer after layer of flab build upon themselves. He can feel its heaviness and the new weight he carriers. And he groans as his toned arms also fill with fat, eliminating his picturesque, toned biceps and triceps. He feels his flabbier arms and cringes. It took years to build up his physique. How was this happening? But his thoughts are interrupted. He scratches at his face as scraggly stubble starts to grow in. He quickly whips out his phone and points the camera at himself.
“This isn’t possible.” He gasps, taking in his new form.
He hates how unkempt his hair and new beard appear. His double chin an unwanted addition to his once chiseled face. He looks lazier- uncaring even. Years of working on his body apparently undone in an instant. He gasps as he feels Derek grab a fistful of his gut.
“Fuck babe...” Derek moans, “I love this.”
Trent can’t believe his ears. But as he looks into his boyfriend’s eyes, he notices something off. They appear dim. Uncaring. Lazy. The spark in them gone. Derek pushes himself so that he is now straddling his boyfriend. Their guts pressed together, their moobs sagging. He kisses Trent, running a hand along his scratchy beard.
“Babe... Derek...” Trent groans, “This isn’t...”
But he can’t get the words out. He instead grabs the jiggly flesh of Derek’s fat ass. It feels so good and Trent can feel his thoughts slowing. His exercise routines are becoming foggy. His strict diet, macros, and healthy lifestyle all start to become jumbled.
“No... please not my memories...” He begs softly, starting to enjoy the way his gut feels. How pleasant it feels pressed against his boyfriend’s.
But he can’t stop it. Any memory of a gym session or a workout routine are lost to him. His favorite meal prep recipes gone. And not just from his mind. All the things he saved to his phone, all his progress in the gym that he tracked diligently- all of it disappears, as if it was never done. Their pantry empties of any healthy snack, instead filling with salty chips and candy. Protein shakes become soda. Their home becoming messy and filled with unwashed clothes and dirty dishes. A new lifestyle in both mind, body, and environment. Trent is initially horrified as a wave of laziness and hunger fill his emptying mind. But the former athlete can do little as he gradually accepts this new life. His grumbling stomach snaps him back to reality.
“Oh babe.” He moans, planting a sloppy kiss on Derek’s lips, “Let’s take this to the bedroom.”
And as the two continued to devour any junk food they could get their hands on, it became clear to them that this was just the beginning. They’d continue to get larger and larger. Unable to do anything to stop it, yet enjoying the feeling of their new flabbier bodies. Besides, Halloween was a time for treats. At least now they’d be able to appreciate that.

Miguel And Your Baby Bump !
futuredad!miguel o'hara loves your cute baby bump ♥︎
futuredad!miguel o'hara who wakes you up by gently caressing your stomach and lays his head against your belly bump. He plants soft kisses against your stomach as a little groan rises in your throat and you run your hands through his hair. "Good morning, mama," he would mumble softly.
futuredad!miguel o'hara who would love seeing you in cropped tops around the house with your baby bump peeking out. He would constantly be looking at you. He loved it when you wore tank tops. They fit a little small, so you just let them ride up your swollen stomach.
futuredad!miguel o'hara who loves to creep behind you whenever you're helping him out with dinner or getting ready in the morning. He hugs you from behind both hands on your belly. You smiled at him through the mirror as you put your earrings on. Beams of golden light spilled into the room and illuminated your skin, now riddled with Miguel's kisses. "I don't think I've ever seen a woman as beautiful as you are," he whispered, as he placed his chin on your head, and the two of you admired each other in a comfortable silence.
futuredad!miguel o'hara who makes a playlist with your favorite songs and plays them for the baby. He's big on prenatal music and would come home to you with a new classical music prenatal track that helps baby brain development or helps with soothing.
futuredad!miguel o'hara who used to sit in his study late at night reading up on books about his studies on genes and the multiverse, now spends most nights reading about healthy prenatal habits, postpartum health, and good parenting. Miguel, your workaholic husband who used to let work keep him awake, was now pulling all-nighters reading up on the best foods for pregnant women and babies, how to play with young babies, the best bottle cleaners, and different car seats.
futuredad!miguel o'hara who was always big spoon hands resting protectively around you and on your stomach. Miguel knew that when your baby was 25 weeks in the womb, he could hear. So on top of playing music, Miguel spoke to him. He told your baby about 'how mommy met daddy' and how his day went. He knew the baby couldn't understand him but he wanted your baby boy to recognize his voice. You started talking to your baby too sometimes.
futuredad!miguel o'hara who reads to you every night he can in front of the fireplace with your head in his lap as he runs his fingers through your hair. He was reading one of your favorite romance books to you and the baby when suddenly you felt little kicks. You gasped propping yourself up on your elbows. "Miguel!" you whispered, bringing his hand to your stomach where your baby was kicking. Miguel gasped when he felt the little kicks. The two of you laughed, feeling your son kicking like a little ninja in your stomach. "Looks like he already has his dad's soccer skills," he chuckled, giving your hand a squeeze.
. . .

Do you have any healthy snack suggestions for someone who isn't a huge fan of nuts and dried fruit?
FIRST: A 'Snack' is just a small portion of food. It is a signifier of quantity. 'Snack' does not exclude any type or form of food - it just means a lil' bit of food.
SECOND: "Healthy" is entirely relative to every individual.
'Healthy' is just 'Supportive of a complete nutritional profile, taking into account a person's existing diet, dietary needs, and habits of energy expenditure'
For example:
A small, greasy hamburger is an EXCELLENT snack for a highschool athlete who needs to consume an large amount of calories every day to maintain their body. It has lots of fat and protein for muscle recovery and long-term energy, carbs for immediate energy, and some lettuce/tomato/onion for some extra fiber/vitamins/minerals.
On the flip side, if someone already eats a fair amount of of meat and carbs already but has a lower-energy lifestyle, a healthy snack for them might entail leafy greens, beans/legumes and vegetables, because they need more fiber and nutrients in their diet that plants have in abundance.
--
If you are allergic to or hate eating something, then it's not healthy to force yourself to eat it anyway. Find a different food, or a different way to prepare it that doesn't cause physical or psychological distress!
Don't like peanuts, but peanut butter is good? Eat peanut butter instead! Hate the texture of whole tomatoes, but tomato sauce is good? Eat tomato sauce instead!
Don't be afraid to finely mince or blend your ingredients into a sauce or smoothie if you feel you need or want to eat something for the nutrients but hate chewing it.

I'm a big fan of probiotic stuff in general, like fermented foods (kimchi, pickles, sauerkraut, miso, mustard and yogurts), since a strong bacterial colony in the gut has a positive impact on wellbeing for most folks. More importantly, I love the taste.
Buuuuuuuut~ some people are extra sensitive to compounds that are concentrated in fermented foods. Those people should not eat a lot of fermented foods. It's not healthy for them.

If you're munching snacks out of boredom when you're not actually hungry, something low-fat but satisfyingly crunchy usually does the trick for me. Something I can keep devouring for the sensory delight, gives some good nutrients, and won't make me feel overly full afterward.
Carrots, bell peppers, mung bean sprouts, apples, pears, jicama, radish, pretzels, sweet onions, green papaya, broccoli, popcorn, cucumber, water chestnut, seaweed crisps, coconut chips, any of those fermented foods I mentioned... hell, coleslaw is mostly cabbage with oil and vinegar - plow through that and have a great time!

If you want a snack because you're hungry, but you just want to tide yourself over until the next meal, eat something that is high in fat and fiber. Fat & Fiber makes you feel full.
Cheese, Yogurt, Butter. Olive oil. Guacamole. Tinned fish. Cream. Fry up an egg. Olives, Hard-boiled eggs - These are all relatively high in fat.
Beans, Legumes, Oats, Leafy Greens, and most Berries are pretty high in fiber, and can pair up with any of the fatty things.
Hell, a slice of cheese pizza is also fine! Buttered toast is fine! A small portion of roast beef from last night's dinner!
Eat a little bit, wait 20 minutes, and see if you're still hungry after that. A normal stomach takes 20-30 minutes to register feeling satiated. (Some people's stomachs don't really feel the difference of hunger vs satiation. Those people need to be more mindful of the quantities of food they eat - both eating too much, AND eating too little!)

If you want a snack because salty snacks in particular sound fucking amazing, but other fatty and high-protein foods sound kinda gross, Try chugging a glass of water.
If water doesn't resolve the feeling after giving it a few minutes, try something with salt.
Dehydration and not having enough salt in your body both cause salt cravings. Acute thirst is often mistaken as hunger.
Honestly, you can have a handful of chips. Eating a whole family-sized bag of potato chips in one sitting is probably too much salt & fat for most people, but eating a handful here and there is fine. It's just as morally neutral as eating a carrot.
Eat some rice with soy sauce. Eat some pickled okra, or pickled onions. Eat some miso soup. Drink some soup broth. Have some salt-cured meats.

So: A Healthy Snack!
Ask yourself: Am I hungry, bored, or thirsty?
Ask yourself: What have I been eating lately, and what has my diet lacked, or had in excess? (Fats, Protein, Carbohydrates, Vitamins/Minerals, Water, Salt)
Ask yourself: Am I trying to provide my body with a complete nutritional profile, including fats and carbs - or am I focusing on an imagined 'purity' of food and assigning moral value to eating what diet culture calls healthy so I can be 'good.' (Aka: Do you think instances of eating candy or fatty food is 'being bad'? Stop that.)
Ask yourself: Am I able to rely on my body's signals for hunger and thirst, or do I need to manually track this?
Sometimes a snack is a small portion of leftovers from yesterday.
Sometimes a snack is carefully sliced, cooked, and arranged on a cute plate.
Sometimes a snack is gnawing through half a head of cabbage doused in vinegar.
Sometimes a snack is a handful of shredded cheese eaten from your own palm so you become both the gentle horse and the stablehand feeding it, and that's all okay
