TRIGGER WARING UNDER THE BREAK !!! Please stay safe!
Tumblr media
Bloody Arms. Bloody legs. A blade and a empty pill bottle on the floor. Red stains on the bathroom floor. A frantic nurse running in yelling out to another nurse. Words you could not quite make out. Everything was a blur. You knew what you did. But you barely felt the pain.
It had been 3 years since you were discharged from the psych ward for the final time, you have been getting better ever since.
About one and half years ago you met Oscar, your now boyfriend. You had met at a bar after a race of his. You worked as a logistics manager for Red Bull so it wasn’t unusual for you to be at the track every now and then. At first you hadn’t recognized the young Australian when he chatted you up at the counter of the small bar. He was clearly a little drunk but still one of the politest men you had come across whilst going out. The alcohol helped him work up courage and at the end of a fun night getting to know each other and dancing he awkwardly asked for your number. At this point you had recognized him but after some thinking you decided to give him your number. He was cute, gentle, and certainly a very calm person. You liked that, so why not. It was time to get back into the dating game.
The chatting stage was a little awkward but once he found out you worked in motorsports as well, he started to get a little more chatty. It wasn’t long until he asked you out for dinner. He did not disappoint, a fancy restaurant in the middle of town, it was the best night of your life you thought. Even though you tried to hide it best you could in the early stages of your relationship, he eventually saw your scars. To your surprise he didn’t seem disgusted or disappointed, how people usually reacted. He seemed worried but approached the topic in the right way. He asked you if you were okay to tell him about it. Later he told you that he didn’t mind them, he didn’t think they were ugly. They were a new part about you he didn’t know.
After that you became a lot more open about your past struggles. Sometimes they still got to you, but it got less and less as time passed. A panic attack here and there, being overwhelmed and days you just slept. Oscar was your rock, he felt just as safe as you around him and took care of you when you weren’t doing that well. Same goes for you, sometimes Oscar would get home absolutely drained, then it was your turn to make sure he recovered a bit.
He wasn’t home all the time; his job simply made that impossible. You both dearly missed each other during the long weekends and time spent away from each other. Your love language was touch after all, being deprived of it for weeks was hard, for Oscar too.
The past two weeks had been such weeks, Uni was in the midst of the exam phase at the end of the semester, and it was safe to say you were struggling hard. You were passing your exams, some well others just barely. But you made it through. The cost? Your mental and physical health, you didn’t sleep enough anymore, probably not eating enough. You noticed the familiar feeling of numbness creeping back into your body, your ability to focus was slowly declining and you got more and more tired, basically running on caffeine at this point. One last exam tomorrow, one last all nightery to make it work, one last grind until your break.  Two days after that Oscar was set to return home. Finally.
You walked out of the exam room toward the exit of the big university building, your hand was still a little cramped up and head hurting. The exam went okay, it wasn’t your best work but you would pass, you were pretty sure about that at least. You never know until you get the results but feeling somewhat decent about it was a good thing. You trusted your gut.
Right now, your gut was telling you that you need either rest, alcohol or a hug. Two of those weren’t options so rest seemed the only logical thing to do.
It was finally over. That’s all you could think about as you walked back into the apartment you and your boyfriend shared. It was a mess, the dishes weren’t done, clothes on the floor and papers and materials scattered all over the size of the flat.
You felt disappointed in yourself, Oscar shouldn’t have to come back to a messy home. You really should clean, but the energy just wasn’t there anymore, all you wanted to do was fall into the soft sheets of your bed and finally let your body relax. You suddenly became painfully aware of how tense your body was. All your muscles were hard and hurting from all the work you had been doing.
You didn’t even have the energy to get changed and just sunk into the bedsheets wearing a 3 day old hoodie just barely managing to get the jeans off your legs. The sheets felt cold, not as comfortable as you had hoped. You missed the warmth of Oscars body against yours. He was always so warm, no idea how but he was like a human heating pad. Thinking of him you fell asleep finally.
It was almost 4 PM when you woke up. You were still beyond tired, yet your body wouldn’t let you rest anymore. That all so familiar tingly feeling cooking up inside your body, feeling it in your veins, your bones, everywhere. Your breath hitches, gut clenching as the panic overwhelms you. The place you were in was dangerous, you couldn’t go back there. Into that dark place you almost paid with your life with to get out of. Those lonely nights, cold white rooms and silver blade across your skin.
Despite even the thought of it making you want to scream, the want of a release right now was so high. What else was there to do? You still had them, those sharp silver metals. You knew exactly where they were, stuck to the bottom of your bedside drawer with some tape. A place where no one could find them ever. Just for you, a safety net to fall back on.
After all these years you still couldn’t let go. Your last relapse was almost a year ago, you had hidden it from Oscar. The burning tension under your skin. The thought of feeling again. How good it felt. It was all overwhelming you. Tears long dried out and your mind taking over. You lost control of what you were doing. You didn’t want this.
The familiar feeling of regret kicked in hard. In the moment you felt euphoric, feeling something finally. All the tension getting release for just a couple of seconds. What had you done. No. You ruined it again. Everything. Your progress- all for nothing.
It was a bad one, the red lines spreading all across your thighs some even having been placed on your already scarred wrists. They didn’t need stiches, you made sure of that. But they stung, like hell, like they always did.
The bleeding stopped. A bit of it had already made its way onto the sheets. It was too late to clean up that mess now. You needed to get up. Eat. Drink water. Clean. Get everything ready for Oscar tomorrow. Oscar. Fuck- he was going to be back so soon. He couldn’t see you like this. What if he was disappointed, angry, what if he was going to leave you.
This was all your fault. Every fiber of your body was screaming at you to get back up, clean up and move. But your mind refused to move a single muscle.
The exhaustion of fighting your own mind finally kicked in enough to make you drift back off into the land of dreams. Failing to notice the messages and a missed call from you loving man.
Oscar unlocked the front door of your shared apartment in anticipation. It was 2PM you should be up by now. He couldn’t wait to finally feel your skin again. The body, voice and warmth of his loved girl.
He was surprised to find the apartment still dark, blinds shut. He quietly placed down his suitcase as his eyes adjusted to the light levels of the rooms. It was a bit of a mess, dishes piling up on the kitchen island and random papers and clothes scattered all over. Taking quite steps toward the bedroom he grew more and more worried. He knew you had a lot on your hands with school and all the work that came with it. You hadn’t mentioned that it was this bad though. It looked like you had not been taking care of yourself at all.
Reaching the wooden door he pushed the handle down and slowly swung the door open. There you were, in a pile of blankets, looking ever so small. The bedroom was even messier than any of the other rooms of the house. “Oh baby…” he mumbled, as he was about to walk over to the bed to gently wake you up to greet you.
That’s when he noticed. One of your sleeves was rolled up, red still staining it. The smallest bit of your thigh peeking out under the fluffy blankets. His eyes widened at this sight. His heart broke a little. His favorite person was doing terrible and he hadn’t noticed… why didn’t you say anything. How did it get this bad. What was he going to do? All those questions running through his mind simultaneously.
“Oh god- Love? Hey?” He said, louder this time. Worry filling his voice to a point of almost breaking.
You woke up to the familiar voice. He was home already? Oh lord he was home already. No this cant be, he wasn’t supposed to see this. You opened your eyes to stare in the wide open, worried eyes of Oscar. “Osc- I’m so sorry, i- I’m okay“ you tried to reassure him tears already rolling down your face. He took a big step towards the bed and collapsed by your side. “No love no your not. What’s going on, talk to me. Please-“ He chocked out. You cried, you tried to speak but you couldn't. Oscar just laid there. Arms wrapped tightly around you. All he wished was that he could protect you from this. It shouldn’t have happened, you should be safe now. The thought of you needing him and him not being there broke his heart.
You laid like that for close to a hour before your sobs started to finally slow down and shrink down to quiet sniffles.  “I’m sorry Oscar I’m so sorry, you weren’t supposed to see this. I’m sorry-“ you choked out. “No darling don’t apologize, its not your fault. I’m sorry that you are struggling like this. I’m here now you’re okay baby.” He responded. You could tell he was broken seeing you like this. But all he wanted is to take care of you right now. Make you feel better in any way he could. “let me help you please. What can I do for you right now?” The question seemed overwhelming, you weren’t sure what to respond. Food? A shower? More cuddles? All of those if it was possible.
Oscar took note of your indecisiveness and gave you options instead. “Okay how about we go get your cuts cleaned and bandaged, ill order some food and we watch your favorite show. Or if you’re ready we can talk about it.” He said, voice sounding ever so gentle. “Yes please.”
He got off the bed and you immediately missed the comforting presence. He was quick to return with a small first aid kit.
The wound disinfectant stung, you let out a pained noise. Oscar stopped, looking up at you for your okay to keep going. You gave him a small nod. His touch was so light, he didn’t want to hurt you more. White bandages soon covered all the open skin where the blade had done its dance across the pale skin of your sleep deprived body.
The food didn’t take long to get there. It was your favorite Chinese Place. Its what you ordered almost every time when Oscar returned from races. It was comfort food.
You were back in bed. The rookie, your comfort series playing on the big screen across from you. You cuddled as close to your boyfriends body as possible. You couldn’t stop the quite apologies tumbling from your lips but Oscar was quick to shut it down. “Love, I am not mad at you. Non of this is your fault. We will get this sorted out. We can clean together, we can get you all the help you need. We are going to put you first. You’ll be okay. I promise. You’re so incredibly strong, you’ve got this okay. I love you.” He said, his chest vibrating against your ear. His hands were roaming your body, leaving small kisses wherever he could reach. He wanted you to feel loved. He knew you loved him and he loved you but he wanted to make sure you knew it in this exact moment.
As you were finding embrace in his strong arms he reached for a pen on the side of the bed. He pulled the cap of with his teeth and gave you a questioning look. You were confused. What did he want with that pen. He decided to show you, as he gently grabbed your wrist and pulled it in front of himself. He started doodling on the top part of your arm, the part not covered by bandages. He drew little stars, and butterflies.
It made your eyes water again. “You’re so beautiful my love.” He said drawing another small butterfly.
He was what you need. All you needed. He was your rock, and he was always there to pick up every ever so tiny piece of you when you broke apart. That’s what love is about. Being there when the other needs it the most. You understood that now more than ever.
This oneshot very much stems from my own struggels, for anyone feeling the same. I hope youre doing alright. Youre doing great bean, youve got this. It gets better i promise.

W.c : 2.7k (I love my man)

Tumblr media
Your mom always hooking up and dating new men every once in a while wasn't something new to you , she was always looking after handsome men , and rich ones as well , she did this since your dad died , you were used to your mom coming home with men at night and having sex with them drunk or high, so you accepted your faith and lived your life , even though your mom seemed to hook up a lot , she always made sure to take care of you, your health and education, so it doesn't really matter to you what she does, but since your rooms’ walls are kinda attached you could always hear her or the new man she’s with moaning, whining or crying, it always reminded you how miserable she is , One day she comes home really happy from one of the clubs. You were confused, cause she usually comes home wasted and really drunk cause her boyfriend dumps her.
“Someone looks happy today?” You say teasingly and smile
Your mom shrugs and chuckles “well today I met that man” she smiles softly
“Oh and what's so special about him that made you smile ear to ear?” you ask teasingly
“Oh he's so sweet , you should meet him , he's not like these other guys I've dated , he's so special” she sighs and smiles.
“Oh and what's his name?” You ask curiously.
“Well his name is kun” she says, you nod and smile .
“Well I hope that one lasts” you roll your eyes and go to my room.
your mom goes to few other dates with that man kun always very happy , you were glad your mom found the man that made her feel happy and fulfilled after your dad's death , but you were always curious who's that man that could possibly date a woman at her 40s right now , since all men prefer younger women that are still living their youth, you assumed it was a man that was in his early 50s. Your 18th birthday was coming on the way. And you and your mom were planning on the decorations, the cake and the people you'll invite.
“So you'll invite your friends , some of your friends' parents, is that right?” your mom asks looking at the list you gave her
“Yeah that's right , feel free to invite someone as well!!” You offer her , busy decorating the room
“Oh , can I invite Kun over?” She asks excitedly.
“Oh of course you can mom.” I chuckle hearing her tone.
Few days skip and it's finally your birthday. People come over , music takes over, all your friends come over and their parents, some people that you don't know or are not familiar with also come , you assume that was your mom's friends, you also see some of your family members. People are congratulating you , and wishing you a happy birthday and giving you presents. Your mom approaches you and pulls you to a quiet place suddenly.
“Gosh mom you scared me” you chuckle softly. You hear your mom chuckle.
“I want you to meet kun!!” She smiles excitedly.
“Oh and where is the lucky man?” I chuckle softly. She walked away for a few moments and pulled a young looking man that looked really attractive if you're being honest, he had red hair, his smile was charming and his eyes were shining.
“Kun c'mon, this is my daughter y/n” she smiles at kun.
“Oh hey there y/n , happy birthday!!” Kun smiles.
“Oh thank you kun” you smile shyly before he hands you a small box.
“Ah, thank you , you didn't have to.” you smile softly, taking the box.
“This is nothing, it's just a small gift” he smiles again, it makes you melt, you both hold eye contact for a bit , noticing how young he looks.
“Uh sorry to ask but how old are you?” You ask curiously
“Oh I'm 28” he answers, you looked surprised a little
“Oh wow you're pretty young…for my mom” he chuckles as you say that.
“Everyone says that but your mom is just really sweet” you two smile at each other until your friend called you
“ahh you're here” she pulled you with her as you waved to kun.
“Who's that cute dude?” she asks and bites her lower lips.
“Don't get too excited he's my mom's boyfriend” I roll my eyes
“They'll break up after a while like she usually do”
“I don't think so, she seems so happy with him” you sigh
“Whatever birthday queen let's go enjoy this shit , you became an adult” you smile slightly and nod , heading back to enjoy the loud music and your friends, one of your friends suggests you a glass of alcohol , you would be lying if you said it was your first time trying it , you sometimes tasted the alcohol your mom left on the table while cleaning up after her , sometimes weed , cigarettes, you had some experience with these things, you take the glass of alcohol from your friend and drink the whole glass , after a while you head to kun since you couldn't find your mom
“Yo kun um do you know where did mom go?” you ask taking in every detail of his face, he had a glass of alcohol in his hand
“Oh she said she'll go stay at a friend's house since she didn't like the noise here , I'll stay here with you if you want”
“Ah no it's okay” you say heading back to your friends. You went to enjoy the rest of the night eventually getting drunk, and since you just started actually drinking just now you collapsed, after feeling dizzy from all the alcohol. You woke up the next day , but you felt someone next to you , you felt too sick to even turn and see who was it. Finally turning around seeing kun, you knew it was wrong but it felt nice next to him ,how his hair is messy and it's covering most of his face , you wanted to lean in more into his touch , kiss him, feel him. He was just looking at you and smiled softly.
“Good morning sleepy head” he says a d chuckles.
“Oh good morning…what happened yesterday?” You asked and took a deep breath
“Well you just got too drunk and collapsed, I didn't wanna leave you cause your mom isn't home, yet” you nod listening to him.
“Anyways do you want breakfast?” He asks.
“Oh I can do it myself” you smile and get off the bed before he pulls you back right next to him , there was almost no distance between your faces , you felt his warm breath against your face
“Don't move, I'll cook for you , you're still tired” he says , his voice was lower than before, you couldn't help it but get closer to him and kiss his lips, he surprisingly kisses you back closing your eyes feeling your lips against his, he wraps his arms around your waist as you cup his cheeks between your hands , after a while you pull away and take a deep breath ready to get scolded by him, but you heard a Chuckle coming from him , you open your eyes and look at him raising an eyebrow.
“You're much better than your mom could every be” he whisper as he nibbles your neck gently.
“r-really?” You ask, trying to hold in a moan , your voice kinda shaky.
“Oh definitely yeah” he chuckles
“I'll go make you some breakfast now” he stands up and gets out of the room.
It felt wrong, it felt wrong enjoying that kiss , it felt wrong liking how his lips felt , all of it was wrong. You felt so guilty…but it felt so wrong. You take a deep breath before getting off the bed. Going to the bathroom to take a shower and get ready for the day. You then go to the kitchen seeing that kun is still cooking.
“You really didn't have to cook anything I always go the cafe near by” you say standing next to him.
“You don't have to waste money on food that won't make you full for even three hours” he chuckles softly.
“I just know mom chose the right man , he'll definitely make her full” I chuckle as he rolls his eyes.
“Do you have a boyfriend?” He asks curiously.
“Oh I don't, just focusing on getting to college now you know” I roll my eyes as you hear the door opening
“Oh what is that sweet smell?” Your mom says as she enters the house
“Oh it's some breakfast, want some babe?” Kun says with a smile.
“Oh I'd love to” she chuckles , kun also chuckles and get the food ready , you all eat together , talking about the party and how it went. Your mom decides to go sleep since she couldn't sleep at her friend's place.
You and kun are at the living room , each of you scrolling through their phone boredly.
“So have you ever thought of having a boyfriend before?” Kun breaks the silence between you two.
“I mean of course I did but you know I'll be too stressed in the next years and it will be hard for me to keep up with my studies and boyfriend at the same time.” You say looking at him boredly
“When will college start?” He asks
“In about a month?” You say as he nods.
Time passes it's time for college, kun drives you there as you discover he works in the same college you're in , you liked it cause it might get you more grades since you know one of the teachers personally.
After the day was done he takes you with him.
“So how was college today?” He smiles and looks at you
“It was nice , I got to know some people out there”
“You never told me you work there before?” You say as he chuckles.
“I mean you never asked” you chuckle as you hear his words
“I mean fair enough”
“How about we go eat outside today?”
“And what about mom?”
“She's going out with her friends, typical, she never spends time with us” he rolls his eyes
“I love her though” he chuckles, you felt happy that your mom that loves her truly…but you felt jealous at the same time, what if you were the one that met him first?
You'd have been in love, going out on dates but it was too late they're getting married in two weeks. He takes you to the restaurant, you two eat together and get kinda drunk , he holds your hand and takes you to the car which was parked in a dark alley as he helps you sit in the backseat , he sits next to you and brushes his fingers against your thighs.
“Are you okay?” He asks
“Mhm , yes I am” you lean in on his chest, burying your face against his chest , he chuckles and nod.
“You don't look like it though “ he says teasingly.
You look up and kiss his lips softly,he chuckles against your lips and kisses you back , running his hands through your hair, you moan slightly against his lips, as his fingers touches your inner thighs, he pushes you flatly on the seat and gets lower , raising your skirt a little , seeing your red panties and chuckles , he pulls them down and leans in , feeling his warm breath against your pussy you whine slightly. He leans in more and presses his tongue against your pud, you arch your back slightly and whine. You remembered your mom and immediately felt bad but it was too late…too late to stop him it already felt good , his tongue pressed against your pussy , the car is filled with stem , you body feeling hot , your hair sticking to your sweaty forehead. He raises his head and leans in to pull your lips in a sloppy kiss sneaking his tongue inside your mouth, it was a guilty pleasure, it was the nicest kiss ever.
“You taste nicer than your mom, she's old anyways don't you think?” He chuckles and kisses your neck gently.
“I- kun I don't think we should”
“Shhh , it's okay princess, it's only this time , okay? Just for me , just for daddy okay?” He asks and kisses your lips.
“O-okay daddy?” It was a new nickname for you to call him. He smiles as you call him that.
“It sounds so sweet coming out of your mouth” he smiles and kisses your lips. He helps you get dressed and fixes himself and you and drives back him , and he sees your mom there.
“You guys finally came, kun should cook for us” your mom says with a smile
“Oh me and y/n ate outside, I thought you were going to eat with your friends?” He says curiously.
“Oh , yeah we ate together but it wasn't a big meal , what a shame” she sighs. You felt at that moment really bad for doing that with the man she loves , but it kept going on , whenever your mom wasn't around , you'd just walk and sit with him and talk a bit before you find him on top of you fucking you as you plead him to fuck you harder.
One day , you went to a party and came back late at midnight. You saw a figure standing in the kitchen..it was kun , what is he doing at this hour? He usually sleeps early? Was the first thing you thought of.
“Why are you late?” He asked in a slightly sleepy tone. Hearing his voice sends shivers through your spine.
“Well , I was gonna come early but my friends begged me to stay” you smile awkwardly
“Sure” he looks at you , he looks tired…very tired.
“Why are you awake now anyways?” You ask worried
“Well your mom was worried , cause you're so I had to calm her , she just went to bed..” he says angrily.
“Oh..I'm sorry” you whisper as you hear him sigh. He suddenly pulls you against the kitchen counter.
“You think sorry will do anything?” He asks angrily, trapping you between his body and the counter , you shake your head in guilt. He grips on your chin tightly making you look at him in the eyes and attacks your lips , you were shocked but you returned the kiss. He kept kissing you for what felt like forever as you pulled away to take your breath as he pulled you to your room.
“Get naked” he commands as you nod and strip out of your clothes and get on the bed , he gets on top of you and kisses your lips again before taking off his pants , he brings the lube and puts a generous amount on his cock before he starts getting inside you. And you moan at the sensation of his cock in your tight pussy.
“Do fucking tight” he chuckles and thrust inside you.
“Please daddy…be gentle” you plead but he ignores your pleas.
“Why would I be gentle when you're acting like a whore coming late at night in that dress that makes you look like a slut?” he says.
“I'm sorry , I won't do that again I swear”
“Keep talking like that and I won't let you even cum” he says strictly, you shut your mouth as he continues thrusting inside you , hitting all the right spots..he knows you…more than he should.
“Oh you're much better than that old hag in the other room” he whispers , his red hair sticking to his forehead due to the sweat on it, he pulls your lips in a sloppy kiss as you moan against his lips as you felt like you're at the edge.
“Please daddy…I'm gonna cum” you beg
“Not now” he says as he thrusts more inside you , your eyes roll back trying to hold back your orgasm. He thrusts faster inside you for a few times before he releases his seeds inside you , he slows down before speaking up.
“You can cum now” as you heard these words you immediately release your orgasm, he pulls out of you , as you calm down from your high taking a deep breath.
“You okay now?” He whispers as he lays next to you kissing your lips. You nod , as he smiles and stands up and helps you get up and you two shower together and change your bed sheet and he sneaks back to your mom's room after leaving a peck on his lips

Cold to the Touch
Phione Akari AU
As a phione, it's hard for Akari to find anything fun or entertaining to do. But she still manages, even if it's at Ingo's expense.
I wrote this after I got a request to write about something for this AU with lower stakes and let Akari have some fun, after putting out several segments that were pretty stressful and sad for the characters. And if possible, to have her prank Ingo. I did my best hopefully!!!
OR read here on AO3!
AND check out the Phione Akari AU masterpost!
Enjoy!
————
There were many, many things Akari hated about being a Phione.
Many changes. Many limitations. Many problems.
But this was not one of them.
In fact, she found that this was quite fun.
“And if I could have two of those leek salves, and a half-bag of those dried apricorns?”
Choy grabbed two small purple bottles and began weighing out a bag of the nut fruits as Ingo browsed the wares at the storefront, pointing out what he wanted to purchase. While there wasn’t much room with everything out on display, he did his best to keep himself under the protection of the storefront’s awning — the rain was coming down hard today.
And as much as he disliked the idea of dragging all of this stuff around with him in the coastlands, especially in weather like this, he had promised Akari he would actually take better care of himself out there now while continuing his search.
No more sleeping on the ground, or against trees and boulders. No more living off whatever he picked off of bushes and trees. No more foregoing needed sleep for a few more hours of searching. No more sacrificing his health when he didn’t need to.
“Anything else for you today?” Choy asked as he placed them down next to the other items that had been requested.
“Oh, one last thing; do you perhaps have a lightweight roll or sleeping mat?” Ingo searched past the shopkeeper at the storage shelves behind him, leading Choy to look over his shoulder — he could see what looked like a few different sleeping rolls. “Like the ones the Ginkgo Guild members are equipped wITh-!”
An awkward jerk as Ingo scrunched his neck into his shoulder, crashing the sentence with an odd jump. A subsequent squeak from somewhere in his coat collar, quiet enough for only Ingo to hear.
“Everything alright?” Choy looked back from the shelves, giving him a look halfway between confusion and concern.
“I uh, apologize. Unfortunately, too many nights sleeping on the ground has left me with a sore spine, is all.” Ingo tentatively answered, rubbing at his neck. “It… pulls sometimes. I’m sure you can now understand my need for an adequate sleeping mat.”
“Oh yes, of course,” Nodding his head, Choy stepped away from the shelf he had been approaching. “I understand! These rolls might be too thin; I have some thicker ones in the back that might be better for that. I’ll be right back with one.”
Ingo watched the man disappear behind the rows of shelves, making sure he was out of earshot before he hooked his lapel with a finger and pulled it back.
“Miss Akari, please!” He whispered into the collar of his coat. He could not see her and he was too saturated with rainwater to feel where she was, but he knew she was in there somewhere; he could hear her snickering. “You know I’m not fond of that!”
“Phi-phi!” She retorted. While Ingo had no idea what she was saying, the bubbly tone of amusement in her voice indicated she wasn’t taking him seriously.
He was sure it was because of a phione’s adaptability to water and its strange thermoregulatory characteristics — Professor Laventon had said something about it — but whenever it rained, Akari became just as cold as the falling water that mixed with her. Like ice cold. It turned her little flippers into something more like the freezing hands of death. And she unfortunately found it funny to -
“AH!” The frigid touch of Akari’s ribbon-like appendage (now more comparable to the frozen fingers of a froslass) against his neck made him flinch before forcing himself back down into a whisper. “Miss Akari-!”
“Warden?” Choy called out from the back. “Are you sure you’re alright?”
“Not to worry, it’s simply an instance of my neck bothering me again!” Ingo lied through his teeth. One last quick whisper into his coat collar, towards quiet giggling. “Please-”
“Alright, I’ve got a couple here that you can look at!” Returning from the back shelves, Choy heaved a bundle of various mats onto a display table with a grunt. “All varying degrees of sturdiness, but maybe you’ll like one of them.”
Ingo browsed the mats, pressing down on the different materials and lifting edges to test heaviness. Some were too firm to be kind to his back, and some were too bulky to comfortably carry. None of them seemed very suitable for him, honestly...
As he browsed, Ingo couldn’t help but notice he was actually being left alone. No icy jabs, no startling coldness. Maybe Akari was listening to him now. it was nice not feeling the freezing hands of death grasping at the back of his-
“GHh-!” Ingo jerked awkwardly again, tucking his chin down against his chest and hissing through his teeth. He spoke too soon.
“Are you sure you wouldn’t like a thicker mat? Or at least a neck roll for support? It seems…” Choy stalled for a moment, filtering his words into something kinder. “Bad.”
“No no, I can assure you it’s temporary! It’s simply rather distracting, ” Ingo emphasized the last word quite forcefully, rubbing at his neck. “I’m confident that’s the last time it’ll happen.”
“Maybe at least have the medical corps look at it before you go.” Choy did not sound any less concerned.
“Perhaps I will make that detour,” Ingo brushed it off kindly. He was going to have to make this quick, it seemed Akari was intent on embarrassing him in public just for some amusement. “I apologize for having you drag all of these mats out, but I may have to go with one of the previous, lighter alternatives.”
“Not a problem,” Choy pushed the heavier rolls aside and turned to pull down one he had initially suggested; a simple green one, tied with wound rope. “This mat’s good then?”
“I believe so,” Already searching through the inner pockets of his coat for money, Ingo only gave the roll a passing glance to confirm. “I think that’s everything I need.”
“Sounds good,” Choy lugged the mat up onto the table, bunching it with everything else he had requested and quickly reevaluating it all. “Alright, together that’ll be seven-thousand six-hundred.”
“Mm-hmm,” Head down, Ingo began counting out what he had in his hands. He should have enough…
“Oh, but wait-”
Thinking something was wrong, Ingo glanced up only to see Choy setting a small box on top of his pile of supplies.
“Just a few honey cakes, no extra charge.”
Ingo blinked, not catching the sudden tiny squeak from within his coat. “No charge? Thank you, and please understand I am not at all ungrateful for the offer, but… I’d like to know why?”
“Well, because I appreciate your business!” Short and simple, Choy clasped his hands together.
Ingo sized up the box; it wasn’t terribly big, but it certainly wasn’t small either. Truely, it was a kind gesture, but to him, all he saw was more cargo to lug around, more weight to tug at his back. And he wasn’t sure he could keep it from becoming soggy in the rain, anyways.
And he couldn’t help but feel that it was perhaps a pity gesture; he knew Choy had seen him practically drag himself through Jubilife’s gates the other day.
“I greatly appreciate it, but I couldn’t in good conscience, really.” Ingo gave Choy an apologetic, flat-lined smile, putting up a hand. “Those are your wares! Please, keep them.”
Another small squeak, and this time Ingo heard it. He preemptively placed his hand over his neck just before she could touch him, her icy flippers patting his fingers instead.
“Then take it as a gift of support, please.” Choy extended a more genuine tone now, he confirmed what Ingo had suspected about it being a pity gesture. “I know what all of these supplies are for, Warden. You’ve been doing so much to find Akari, and this weather definitely isn’t making things any easier for anyone right now. And I can empathize; all this sudden rain’s been making it hard for Yui today. She can’t seem to shake this terrible sickness that won’t leave her alone, and it’s been really difficult lately to-”
“AAa -HaAH-!” Ingo interrupted with an embarrassingly loud shout, suddenly jerking forward with scrunched shoulders as both hands frantically clamped against his neck. “Just- Ahck! Stop it-!”
“...I’m sorry?” Staring at Ingo in bewilderment, the appalled tone of Choy’s voice was painfully shame-inducing. The heavy atmosphere pressed down on Ingo’s shoulders, the rain in his coat suddenly pulling down on him like heavy weights.
Oh Arceus. Did he really just laugh while Choy was empathizing with him over his sick wife?
Did he really just say stop it??
“Ahem!” Ingo cleared his throat gratuitously into a fist, his face burning like fire as he realized what he just did. “M-my deepest apologies for that! Illness is terribly unfortunate, and I hope for nothing but a quick recovery for your poor wife! I absolutely didn’t mean to- Please, excuse me for a moment!”
“Right.” Choy crossed his arms, eyes narrowed and brows furrowed as Ingo stiffly hurried out into the rain, rushing around the right corner of the store.
Reaching the bridge that led to the housing units, Ingo stopped and made sure no one else was around to hear. Reaching into his coat collar and fishing Akari out of it, he held her close to his (still very red) face with one hand, sternly shaking a finger at her with the other. “Miss Akari!” Don’t- don’t do that! Just because I said no cold shocks, that doesn’t mean you can start tickling m-!”
“Phi-phi!” She squeaked back at him avidly. He didn’t understand, but with her troubled eyes and tone, he could clearly see she wasn’t laughing anymore — she probably realized how inappropriate the timing of that was, regardless of how accidental it was.
Ingo’s frown pulled, his eyes narrowing from behind the raindrops now dripping off his hat’s brim. “Forgive me if I’m wrong, Miss Akari, but I recall you fervently requesting me to keep you both concealed and inconspicuous while in Jubilife. I’d say this is making it difficult to do either!”
“Phi!” Freezing cold flippers wrapped around his thumb as she hugged it tightly. She often did that when expressing gratitude or apologetics to him, an extension of hugging him as a whole. Her guilty eyes indicated it was clearly the latter reason, this time.
“It’s alright, just please, please, don’t repeat it. I would very much like to complete this transaction in peace.” Ingo accepted the apology. He had planned for that to be the end of it and moved his hand to place her back in his coat collar, but she squeaked at him again.
When Ingo pulled her back, she made an exaggerated motion that resembled eating, holding her flippers up and mimicking taking bites out of something.
He couldn’t make a guess until she pointed at the side of the general store, then repeated the motion again.
“The honey cakes? You wanted those honey cakes?”
“Phi!” She clapped her flippers together, celebrating his correct guess.
“Just one of those is bigger than your head; it takes you two days to consume one.” Ingo shook his head. “And there are several in that box; I’m afraid they’ll go to waste.”
Akari made a pleading motion and held her flippers together up at him with big eyes, but otherwise she grew quiet, and Ingo’s features softened.
She’s had it very hard. He knew that. These past few weeks had been terrible and frustrating and confusing. And while the last three days had certainly been much happier with his revelation over who she was, it still… it didn’t have much in it to be happy about in general, and he knew Akari was depressed with her limitations.
The giggles she had let out in his coat earlier was the first time he had really heard her laughing or having fun in a long while (even if it had been at his expense… but really, as a phione, there weren’t many things she could do to entertain herself right now).
So what was the harm in getting her some simple sweets? Giving her something to be happy about?
Ingo’s words left his mouth in a cloud of breath, visible in the frigid air. “Alright, Miss Akari. I will get them for you.”
“Phi!” She squeaked, a little surprised, but clearly happy. She hugged her flippers around his thumb again in a gesture of gratitude as he brought her back to his shoulder, tugging the lapel of his coat back.
“But please do your best to finish them! And please, no more cold touches. Or tickling.” He added as she wiggled back into her spot, amongst the folds of his tunic’s hood. “I would not like to laugh at that poor young man’s sick wife for a second time.”
The subsequent giggling at his shoulder was his only response as he smoothed his coat collar back down, but that was enough for him.
Now. To somehow find the strength to go back and face Choy. Ingo took a deep breath, steeling himself as he turned to walk back around the corner of the building. Ugh, he could already feel the blush of shame returning.
“I’d like to once again apologize for that outburst,” Rounding the corner, Ingo took his place back before Choy, who still appeared rightfully upset; arms now crossed, the store owner seemed much less amiable now. “Truely, I didn’t mean to laugh during such a sensitive subject.”
“Was that the fault of your sore neck as well?” Choy reached up to take his glasses and clean a few stray raindrops off them with his hanten. His words were painfully flat.
“Ahah… uhm, no,” Ingo coughed. “My mind simply reminded me of very ill-timed joke. Very unfortunate timing.”
Choy didn’t really believe him, Ingo could see it in his eyes. Regardless, he adjusted his glasses back on his nose, and went to grab up Ingo’s items, sliding them across the display table. “Unfortunate indeed. Here are your items, Warden.”
“Oh, thank you. Though also, before I depart-” Ingo held out the money he owed, but began searching through his coat pockets again. “I believe I’ve had a track change; I would like those honey cakes after all. But please, allow me to pay for it in full; it’s the least I could do. And again, I do hope your wife recovers swiftly.”
It seemed Choy’s hardened features softened a little as Ingo dropped the money into his hand.

Sherman Smith at Kansas Reflector:
TOPEKA — As the Kansas Legislature renewed its yearslong assault on transgender children, Sen. Mary Ware told her Senate colleagues Monday she had a “simple” question for them.
“What is the acceptable number of youth suicides?” Ware asked. The Suicide and Crisis Lifeline is a hotline for individuals in crisis or for those looking to help someone else. To speak with a certified listener, call 988. Crisis Text Line is a texting service for emotional crisis support. To speak with a trained listener, text HELLO to 741741. It is free, available 24/7, and confidential. Ware’s question set the tone for debate in the Senate, which voted 27-13 to override Gov. Laura Kelly’s veto of Senate Bill 233, legislation that would ban gender-affirming care for anyone younger than 18. But the override attempt fell short in the House on an 82-43 vote, two short of the two-thirds majority required.
The bill would have blocked teenagers from receiving hormone therapy and other treatments recognized as necessary by medical professionals. And it would have banned state employees from supporting “social transitioning,” which is defined to include an individual changing their preferred pronouns or manner of dress. Rep. Susan Concannon, R-Beloit, and Rep. Jesse Borjon, R-Topeka, flipped their votes from earlier in the month to sustain the governor’s veto. Two other Republicans — Rep. Mark Schreiber of Emporia and Rep. David Younger of Ulysses — also joined Democrats in blocking the legislation from becoming law. “We hear about mental health, about suicide, and ask why,” Concannon said. “We’re not listening to the impact of youth. Government involvement is not the answer.” On the Senate side, Sen. John Doll, R-Garden City, and Sen. Carolyn McGinn, R-Sedgwick, joined the chamber’s 11 Democrats in supporting the veto.
Opponents of the bill pointed to extensive medical research that shows transgender children, who are already at an elevated risk for suicide, are more likely to die from suicide if they don’t receive gender-affirming care. “This bill ignores, or should I say tramples, on the rights of some Kansas citizens to live peaceably, lawfully and free to make their own decisions about their own bodies,” Ware said. Republicans argued the bill would protect children from life-altering decisions they could end up regretting.
[...] The House delayed taking action as Republican leadership tried to secure enough votes to override the governor’s veto. Before closing the roll call, Republicans locked the chamber doors and issued a procedural declaration that requires every member to cast a vote, rather than abstain. Borjon said he would support a ban on gender reassignment surgery and limits on the use of hormone blockers for minors. But for him, the bill went too far in restricting speech and behavioral health care for transgender youths. Rep. Tobias Schlingensiepen, a Topeka Democrat and pastor, said it was clear the “politically motivated bill” would make the lives of trans kids and their families more difficult.
Good news: Kansas's anti-trans gender-affirming care ban for trans youths will not take effect, as Gov. Laura Kelly (D)'s veto of SB233 has been sustained in the House. #KSLeg

Tsukutabe favourite scenes - Episode 2
Tagging as #TsukutabeFaves in case anyone wants to filter out these long posts. Other fave scenes by episode.
#3 Nomoto recognising what it's like to have food prepared for her
Tumblr media
Nomoto cooks for herself in both sickness and health.  As an adult, she's been on her own and (presumably) content with that.   Then in comes careful, gentle, thoughtful Kasuga - not to save Nomoto - but to be her friend and ally.  Nomoto's soft and subdued smile - different to her usual highly expressive one - says this is something new and precious for her.
#2 Kasuga offering to cover Nomoto's food expenses
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Growing up, Nomoto's absorbed ideas about a woman's purpose: to cook for and provide for one's husband and children.  It hits harder when deep down, she knows (and has pushed aside the fact that) she's never been attracted to men (or anyone at all until Kasuga) - so uhhhh, what husband?  Women are expected to cook (not as a hobby), and to not be paid for this work.  Nomoto doesn't think she should be paid either and makes a big case for it, several times.  I always laugh at how Nomoto explains with such flourish why Kasuga shouldn't pay her - it's like she's selling wares!  Her hands are hilarious.
And Kasuga, listens, and requests again for Nomoto to take the money.  This may be the first time someone's seen Nomoto's skills as worthy of compensation, rather than as an expected service.
On initial viewing, I thought this scene was mainly showing Kasuga's fairness.  And later knowing about her childhood, it now seems more than that.
Kasuga's seen her mother slave by the stove, with little appreciation and remuneration.  Kasuga was slaving, too.  She knows the value of cooking, the effort it takes.  She knows it can hurt a person when their sole purpose is reduced to cooking and cleaning.
And she doesn't want to do to Nomoto what was done to her and her mother.
Her father, and by extension brother, felt entitled to her and her mother's labour.  By asking Nomoto to accept payment, Kasuga shuts down that entitlement:  She's saying, "You're not only here to cook for me".
Finally, by standing up and offering to clean, Kasuga forever changes the nature of their arrangement thus far where Nomoto was the only one to cook and clean.  Now, at the sink, they're standing alongside as equals.
Without words, Kasuga says: "We're here together".
#1 Sharing a meal for the first time
Tumblr media
Onigiri comforts Nomoto when she's in pain, and brings nostalgia for when her mother soothed her in childhood.  Decades later, it's Kasuga who soothes Nomoto with this same dish.
Here, their relationship shifts from one where Nomoto only watches, to one where they're both enjoying food together.  No longer is Nomoto the delegated provider; both she and Kasuga are now active participants in this routine they've developed.
As this scene ends, a gentle piano starts for the first time on the show.  Whenever this song comes, I'd know Lesbian Activity of Significance was afoot, and I'd be brimming with glee! (On the official soundtrack, this song is titled "LOVE?").
Bonus (cheating, kind of):
Tumblr media
I love that this episode overall highlights Kasuga's kindness for others.  While Kasuga's facial expressions are restricted, the care she provides is wholehearted and full.  When Nomoto wishes she were stronger, less of a mess, and more like Kasuga - Kasuga gently puts a stop to that (as seen in the pic above).
-
So that's episode two.  Thank you for reading!

The Green Heart: The Heart of Transformation
Story 1: Marrakech’s Embrace
Luca had always felt like a misfit in the bustling, modern city of Milan. His life was filled with the hollow echoes of art galleries, empty cafes, and fleeting, meaningless connections. He was a man adrift, disconnected from his roots and unsure of where he truly belonged. His paintings, once vibrant and full of life, had become muted, reflecting the dullness he felt inside. As a gay man in a city that never seemed to understand him, Luca found himself retreating further into solitude, his desires buried beneath layers of confusion and self-doubt.
Tumblr media
In a desperate attempt to reignite his passion for life, Luca decided to take a trip to Marrakech, a place he had always imagined to be full of color, life, and mystery. The ancient city, with its labyrinthine streets and vibrant souks, called to him like a siren’s song, promising something he couldn’t quite name.
On his second day in the city, Luca found himself wandering through a crowded market, the air thick with the scent of spices and the sound of merchants calling out their wares. The market was alive, pulsating with energy, and yet Luca felt as if he was moving through a dream. He let his feet guide him, not caring where he ended up, until he found himself in front of a small, unassuming stall at the edge of the market.
An old man, draped in a cloak of deep green, sat behind the stall, his eyes sharp and knowing. On the worn wooden table in front of him was a single item—a small, heart-shaped stone that glowed with an otherworldly light. Luca felt an inexplicable pull toward it, as if the stone was calling to him, resonating with something deep within his soul.
“Come closer,” the old man beckoned, his voice soft but commanding. “This is what you seek.”
Tumblr media
Luca hesitated, but the pull of the stone was too strong. He stepped forward, his eyes locked on the glowing artifact. The old man smiled knowingly and nodded. “This is the Green Heart. It is meant for you.”
Without fully understanding why, Luca reached out and touched the Green Heart. The moment his fingers brushed against its smooth, warm surface, a surge of energy shot through him, electrifying every nerve in his body. His heart raced, and his breath caught in his throat as he felt something shift deep within him.
As the energy flowed through him, Luca’s body began to change. His pale, tired skin deepened to a warm, olive tone, glowing with health and vitality. His features sharpened, becoming more chiseled and defined, his jawline strong and masculine. He could feel his muscles tightening, his body becoming more athletic and powerful with each passing second. The transformation was swift, almost overwhelming, and yet Luca felt no fear—only a deep, insatiable hunger awakening within him.
Tumblr media
His desires, once muted and suppressed, now surged to the surface, raw and undeniable. He felt alive in a way he never had before, his senses heightened, his body thrumming with a primal energy that demanded to be unleashed.
Stumbling away from the stall, Luca wandered through the market in a daze, his mind struggling to catch up with the changes in his body. The colors around him seemed brighter, the sounds clearer, as if the world had suddenly snapped into focus. He was no longer the quiet, withdrawn artist who had arrived in Marrakech—he was something more, something powerful and alive.
As he rounded a corner, he nearly collided with a tall, dark-haired man whose presence hit him like a physical force. The man’s name was Amir, and his eyes locked onto Luca’s with an intensity that sent a shiver down his spine. There was something about Amir—something magnetic, primal, and irresistible—that drew Luca in, fanning the flames of the desire that now burned within him.
Tumblr media
Without a word, they fell into step together, their bodies brushing against each other as they walked through the narrow streets of the city. The tension between them was palpable, a current of electricity that neither could ignore. It wasn’t long before Amir led Luca to a secluded courtyard, hidden away from the prying eyes of the world.
The moment they were alone, the tension snapped, and they came together in a frenzied embrace. Their hands roamed each other’s bodies, exploring, claiming, as if they had been starved for this connection for a lifetime. Luca could feel the power of the Green Heart pulsing through him, heightening every sensation, amplifying every touch. His lips found Amir’s, and they kissed with a hunger that bordered on desperation.
Their clothes were quickly discarded, and Luca marveled at the way his body responded to Amir’s touch, as if every nerve ending had been set on fire. Amir’s hands were rough and possessive, his kisses demanding, and Luca surrendered to him completely, giving in to the desire that had been awakened within him. They moved together with a primal urgency, their bodies entwined in a dance of passion and need.
Tumblr media
The world around them faded away, leaving only the heat of their bodies and the intensity of their connection. Amir’s dark eyes bore into Luca’s, and in that moment, Luca knew that he had found what he had been searching for—his true self, his true desires, his true love.
As they lay together in the aftermath, their bodies slick with sweat, Luca felt a profound sense of peace wash over him. The Green Heart had transformed him, not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually. He was no longer the lost, lonely artist from Milan—he was a man reborn, a man who had found his place in the world.
And as he looked into Amir’s eyes, he knew that he had found his home.

Hello! I have no idea if requests are still open (seems like they are).
If so, would you be willing to do headcanons on the ship Frieza/Frost? You know, just cute stuff. Things they do together, how they act towards each other, what one of them does when the other is sick or sad.
Ooh~i like this ask, as I am familiar with the ship :) (I see them as enemies who secretly like each other heehee) so this could go hand in hand, here goes!
Frieza/Frost ship Hcs 💙💜
Moving in was a bit of a hassle for these two icejins, browsing through different households across two of their according universes (along with killing a few realtors because they were getting quite annoying) was exhausting until they came across buying a two story mansion in the seventh universe. It had everything, a pool, a big courtyard and can we not forget a weapon room (Frieza wasn't really fond of it cause he had power of his own until his lover Frost came up with a great claim if their power was overused that's when the room comes in)
They would slowly get used to domestic life but just have servants to basically do everything for them ofc lol
Dates would range from destroying planets and moons together to playing volleyball on the beach with a twist using their ki of course! but it grows to the extreme until Frieza decided to get real competitive as he serves the ball and sends a Death Ball to force the ball down faster to Frost, he deflects it with a big beam of energy from his hands.
Did I forget that they kind of squabble like a married couple? 🤭
"Ugh! Frieza! You almost vaporized the beach we attend to everyday, not to mention this is about the most decent beach here in your universe!" Frieza places his hands on his hips and rolls his vermillion eyes at the pastel blue icejin as he sighs heavily, "Oh come on Frost~it was getting interesting, and if we do I can just say to the supreme Kai to just rebuild it, and if I might add there's not any beaches in your universe am I correct?" "What does that have to do with the game???"
I could never see them get sick as they look like their species has a good immune system but for Frost since he has been in the rainy 6th universe a lot, he had a cloak to protect himself but when they moved to the Seventh, they had to run in the rain to get groceries for only a couple minutes, Frost got sick with a cold. Frieza wasn't really paying attention thinking it could "ware off", but as he was about to walk upstairs that pang of guilt in his gut grew when he reached the staircase.
No matter how much he hated that said feeling, he cant have his lover sick and not in health. he stomped back out the door and minutes later he came back with the usual cold remedies (cough syrup, instant soup, tissue, etc.) "I think you have everything to fight your pesky head cold, if you need anything else, yell for me I will be upstairs," and under his breath he mutters, "love you." (sounds irritated but he's just masking his caring side)
And that was the one time that Frost ever heard him say those two words..
Thriller movie nights and betting who will die first/take a shot if someone dies (they get really competitive lol)
Late night walks at 3am, hand in hand, enjoying the vibrant lights of the city in the universe with barely no one around to judge them..

BOTW Link X F!Reader ~ Pt. 5
Tumblr media
“(Y/n).”
A tilt of your head turned it to Link’s direction, who had been polishing the Mater Sword, which seemed to appreciate the care and the time bestowed upon it if the fluctuating energy around its mighty blade was anything to go by. Luminous Stone faintly illuminated his face as he approached with purposeful steps until coming to a stop beside you. Up your throat came a soft hum, your gaze still fixated upon the wares a Zora was offering but signaling that you’d heard the Champion’s call. Your full attention fixated upon him when the red Zora from earlier, Sidon, parted with a showcase of another near blinding smile, finding the azure eyed Hylian’s expression serious.
Shopping could wait.
Thankful for the shop’s time, you bowed your head then hurried when he led the way towards a more private area of the beautiful architect that was the Zora’s home. The arches from doorways to decorative accents were near neck breaking when one would attempt to behold their splendor, as yours nearly had when first arriving, though the Zoras themselves were just as stunning in your opinion. At first you were hesitant but they warmly welcomed your presence. Though you surmised Link had a big role to play in that.
He didn’t stop until an all too familiar shrine came into view, surprising you that one was in such a populated area. Its rough and rugged exterior was wet with the near dripping humidity that lingered within the air, its runes activating upon him nearing its boundary.
The tilt of his head earned your furrowed brows when noticing how it directed you to venture inside. You want me to do the shrine?, your own head tilted in question.
Blonde hair shifted when he nodded. “Training.”
Now this was odd. As far as you understood, the Champion, Link specifically, was the sole person who could complete the shrines to activate them fully and gain power that could be bestowed with the Goddess Statue’s Blessing. Such an honor, or duty, belonged to him alone. Right?
If he felt your inner confusion he didn’t show it as he tapped the Sheikah Slate to the pedestal. “Test.”
The twist within your gut was near nauseating. He was only using single word answers, something he hasn’t done in a very long time. At least since you’ve begun traveling with him. If that wasn’t worrisome enough there was a heavy shadow lingering within his gaze when it refused to meet your own despite any attempt you made.
What exactly had Sidon spoken to him about that made your companion exhibit such distant behavior?
Questioning would not provide any answers, especially when there was the intermixing of personas within his aura, portraying chaos threatening to bubble to the surface if he wasn’t careful. This time was different than before. The tendrils that solely belonged to the Link you knew were thick, leaving burning trails of light as if they were attempting to guard from an unseen enemy, the other personas you’ve come to recognize were trapped within. There was nothing you could do for him except fulfill whatever he requested you do.
All you could offer was a nod of understanding, the urge to reach out and touch his hand in passing being stifled down when seeing his darkened expression, stepping onto the platform that would lower you into the shrine’s innermost chambers. Just when the mechanism came to life was when he turned away but not before you saw his face become unrecognizable. One of your hands rose to press its fingers over your mouth before you could shout out to him. If doing this shrine would help him in some way you were prepared to do so in a heartbeat.
….
The Ne'ez Yohma Shrine had been a real challenge for you and had taken several more health resources than you’d care to admit but victory tasted sweet upon your tongue as Zora’s Domain came into view once more, a glowing sphere tucked safely within your inventory. The monk within had been especially stingy about you not being the chosen Champion of Hyrule but after much MUCH persuasion the old mummy had finally relented when you gave the reasoning that Link was seeing to other matters along with the confession of being his traveling companion. Could mummified monks smile? You swore it did when it heard that piece of context. It wasn’t a lie, which it seemed to understand, so it had passed over the energy orb to you without much more of a fuss.
Blinking, you ventured from the shrine to stand in awe of the elegantly carved statue of a Zora wielding a trident. There was no sign of Link anywhere around it, though he’d pointedly done everything within his ability to avoid it for some reason, which you couldn’t fathom why since it was just as beautiful as the rest of the domain. An elder noticed you admiring the statue and seemed to smile sadly when taking a moment to gaze up at it too.
“Princess Mipha,” he began, “was truly a kind soul that any would be fortunate of meeting in their lifetime. She was shy, that is true, often times hesitant, though one cannot deny her steadfast will to assist those around her. Truly a remarkable Zora to behold in the throughs of battle and swimming up the waterfalls with such grace that none could ever hope to compete.”
You could see it in the statue’s countenance. The gentle planes of her face, those eyes which seemed to see beyond the physical, how her lips looked parted as if to provide words of encouragement to those who need to hear; though you’ve never met the Zora Princess it was evident within the statue’s image and the words spoken courtesy of such a weathered elder were true.
Yet something sad lingered in the air.
“She was the Zora Champion, right?”
The elder chuckled. “I bet that Hylian has told you plenty of stories.”
Something similar to an invisible dagger slipped between your ribs to pierce your heart. “N-no, he hasn’t said a word about her.”
Seriousness filled the elder’s face, all humor gone from his gaze when it met yours. For a moment he regarded you with suspicion, as if weighing how much should be told, then he took a deep inhale. “They were childhood friends, Princess Mipha and the Hylian known as Link. Often times they would waste days at a time with the other despite the chores or duties the other had. None would stray far from the other’s side if it could be helped.”
The dagger twisted at the hilt, digging into your constricting heart when remembering the heavy shadow over his eyes when ensuring the Zora Armor, which helped him swim faster and up waterfalls, was in pristine condition.
Unbeknownst of the affect his words had, the elder continued. “We have a tradition here where our princess creates a set of armor to bestow upon her intended partner. Imagine the shock upon our people when discovering that she had just finished crafting such a thing just before Calamity Ganon befell Hyrule. There was a rumor floating around that it had been for that Hylian boy since she’d shown little interest in anyone else. My personal opinion…”
Ringing filled your ears, which drowned out the elder’s words. as your feet mindlessly moved away from the statue. The puzzle pieces were starting to fall into place of why Link wasn’t acting himself. One of your hands rose to press against your aching chest.
“…shame that she passed away. Killed, actually, by one of those wretched creatures. Curse that Calamity for taking over Vah Ruta and stealing away our beloved princess just like the other Beasts and their Champions…”
And then you were running.
Find him, your internal voice screamed, find Link!
Easier said than done.
Zora’s Domain was no easy terrain to traverse across. Everything was slippery, making you slide and misstep, nearly sending you reeling back downwards to the trail which led towards the palace. You couldn’t stop to rest when the thin air made you see stars once reaching a small area of level ground. Where would he go?
Ice filled your veins when hearing a passing Zora guard say something about a Hylian who had accepted the request of dealing with a monster preventing travelers from entering the domain from up north. Of course coming to such a place would be hard on anyone and he was certainly no exception no matter how stoic the swordsman appeared. Losing anyone close to one’s heart was never an easy wound to heal from. Surely there was a reason why he didn’t say anything to you! Mud caked itself beneath your fingernails as they attempted to haul you up then over a wet rock, fraying the tender skin beneath that would make anyone flinch or cry out. You didn’t care about that or how lightning forked across the sky above. Rain intermixed with your tears as they spilled down your cheeks to be lost in tiny rivers.
A fork of lightning struck the ledge you were preparing to scale, causing it to crumble, leaving nothing in its former place besides a near gaping crater in the cliff.
Something most would call a miracle happened as you fell into the waterfall which had been at your left.
Cold, pain inducting water was replaced by warmth which surrounded you like a veil. As if someone were holding you protectively against their being. Lungs burning for oxygen, your hand patted against the thing holding you, proceeding to cling to it when water was replaced by empty air. A red Zora with the kindest of eyes and smile easily caught your flailing form before the ground could meet you. “Do not fear,” a feminine voice soothed in your ear though her lips did not move, “he shall return to your side once his duty is fulfilled. For now, be patient, (Y/n), and keep hope.”
Gravity rushed to greet you as the lithe Zora disappeared to replaced by a much bigger one who flashed a bright white smile. “Almost took a nasty fall there. Good thing I was nearby!” Sidon carefully placed you with feet firm on the solid ground.
Blinking, you searched the immediate area and found only the two of you.
“Everything alright?”
You shook your head after a moment. “Sorry, I swore someone else was here there for a minute.”
The Zora Prince listened intently as you recounted the figure you’d seen and earned a sad smile. “That sounds like my dear sister alright. Even if she’s not part of this world anymore it still seems as if Mipha is watching out for our domain.” He laughed as your eyes widened. “I must not have mentioned she was my elder sister earlier.”
Part of you wanted to correct him, that it was his age versus appearance ration which had earned your shock, though that would have been rude so you remained quiet as his gaze fondly beheld the statue below. One of your hands rested upon his webbed own when seeing the deep, woeful longing within his smile. “Can you tell me more about her?” Your lips lifted into a smile. “If you have time, I’d like to learn more about such an amazing princess and warrior.”
Little were you aware of what exactly you’d signed up for.
Zora’s Domain was almost always obscured by rain clouds so you were unable to keep track of time. Not that you minded one bit. Sidon was even kind enough to take you to each of the carved tablets talking more about the Zora Princess. That was when you took a misstep which caused level ground to completely disappear before it was replaced by water. It was too deep for your shoes to brush the bottom, resulting in fear to grip you tightly when the water enclosed over your head.
The scream which rose from your throat as pressure took hold of your flailing legs was rendered to bubbles as it sucked you farther under until a roaring current filled your ears. It rolled you forward, to the side, then backwards, before repeating to leave you delirious and seeing stars as it tossed you effortlessly. Black was beginning to creep along your vision as a flurry of bubbles appeared ahead from where glowing that must be the Zora palace lay.
That must be Sidon coming to save you.
No, the color was all wrong.
A different face, one which you’d never forget, was filled with determination and concentration as familiar lean arms enclosed around you.
And then all you knew was black.
So cold…
And wet…
Something firm was pressing against your mouth…hands were pumping your chest…everything hurt…make it stop…
With effort, your eyes strained greatly to crack. Then they were wide open when finding the object against your lips was a mouth. One that belonged to none other than—
“She’s awake!”
Azure opened at the shout, meeting your own as Link retreated enough to part his lips from yours, relief filling his gaze and features when finding you staring up at him. “(Y/n).”
You were collected within a tight embrace in an instant when a collective cheer rose. From somewhere you couldn’t see came Sidon’s multitude of apologies for not paying more attention or reacting fast enough but you were quick to dismiss them saying that it was your fault in the first place for not being careful of where you stepped. “Really, I’m fine,” you assured each who inquired of your wellbeing once you’d been released, “I’m so sorry to cause you all worry.” Your gaze met azure as the lingering adrenaline danced within your veins, thank you for saving me…again.
“I am surprised to say the least that you, companion to the Hylian Champion, was not capable of saving yourself.” Ice filled your lungs as an elder’s lip curled, the gray Zora fixing you with a sideways disapproving glare. “Such company is unfitting for one as important as he.”
“One’s shortcomings shouldn’t be held against them if they intend to strengthen those weaknesses.”
A collective murmur rose when you stood with a stiff spine.
Speaking against an elder, no matter their race or species, was threatening insult. He had thrown the first punch though. You stood tall when faced with that scrutinizing stare. “Unlike time, a person’s capabilities are only limited to their will. So tell me, elder, would you expect the same if I were a Goron traveling at his side? Or a Rito?” No opportunity was given for him to answer as you continued. “What about asking a Zora to traverse great distances over land where no river could be found? Wouldn’t it be just as wrong or insulting to expect the same from them? Do not be so quick as to judge or compare one to another,” your voice lowered to an almost growl, “and it’s not up to you who is at his side. Link has the freedom to choose whoever he pleases to travel with no matter what corner of Hyrule they are from or what their background. Everyone has their flaws, elder, and I think that gummy, loud mouth is yours.”
For a moment silence hung in the air save for the movement coming from behind you, a pair of hands appearing on your shoulders, almost making you lose composure when feeling them squeeze gently.
Amused laughter drew all’s attention to the nearby throne where a much larger Zora wearing a crown sat with eyes bright with approval. “I see now why you hold such company,” the King of the Zora’s rumbled, “my interest has been peaked. Come, Link, join us for evening feast. Be sure to sit beside me this time.”
Blinking, you glanced over your shoulder as a cheer rose, finding pride written within the Hylian Champion’s face as he nodded in approval. One of his hands released its hold while the other drifted down to collect your hand where its fingers laced with your own. “Not a dull moment,” he quietly teased, earning a blush to rise within your cheeks.
“W-well—I just—” No words came to you for a moment but a question certainly did. You waited until nearly every Zora had dispersed to their own agendas before fixing him with a curious yet guarded look. “Link, you always jump to the defense of others, whether battle or otherwise. So why don’t you protect yourself when someone starts talking to you like the handsy doctor back in Lurelin Village or the Zora elder?” Heat kissed your cheeks when his raised eyebrow reflected your own question back. “I-I don’t know why, okay? Seeing you silently take all the backlash and blasphemy makes my stomach roll. They shouldn’t be talking to or about you in such ways.” Realization filled your veins when seeing calm understanding fill his gaze.
Just as the swordsman protected Hyrule, you felt that it was necessary, as some form of repayment, to be his shield when among others. It wasn’t that he was socially awkward, the knight knew very much of how to conduct conversation. The discipline and expectation of him to remain steadfast or unaffected by the words of others save for the royal family may very well be why he never defended himself in such situations. And it had gradually eaten at you the more you traveled with the Champion.
They respected the title but when it came to Link himself they were quick to pass judgment.
Your heart clenched painfully when wondering just how long he’d been living this way.
He drew you close by the hand holding yours, allowing the free arm to wrap tightly around your shoulders, enabling you to feel his quick breathing and the hammering heart lying beneath his clothing. Honestly he couldn’t care less about what others said about him. Yet somehow, seeing you speak on his behalf when faced with such individuals, made something within him stir.
The Zora Armor donning his figure was beautiful with the addition of dragon scales and the blue hue which complimented that within his gaze. It was different than a lot of his clothing sets, each unique in their own special way, but now you understood why this one in particular was treated with a little extra favor. One could tell it was made with great care.
Your arm rose to return the embrace, the fingers he held giving a gentle squeeze. I’m still here, they said.
A faint squeeze of his fingers said, Yes.
“It’s alright to miss them, the other Champions,” you whispered, “just please don’t shut me out like that again. It’s scary when you start looking more like a statue than anything.”
That devious smirk raised a corner of his mouth when the two of you separated, directing your attention to the river below. His hand prevented your own from slipping free despite calls coming from the Zoras for the both of you to come. “There’s plenty of time to start swimming lessons before food.” He nearly outright laughed at your exasperation. The golden haired Hylian was quick to assure that any such thing could wait until later when the wafting scents of grilling meat and various vegetables filled the air.
This time it was you who prevented his hand from slipping away, earning a raise of his eyebrows when you became serious. “I overheard someone say that you took on a monster up North?”
A cluster of shock arrows was showcased; those must have been what the monster had dropped.
“You defeating it is not the point.”
Link, hearing your tone become sour, turned full attention to you, ignoring the rumbles sourcing from within his stomach.
From your pack appeared a glowing orb which you practically slammed into his chest with an open palm where it disappeared in a flash of light. “Of all the shrines…it had to be that one…” you growled while crossing both arms, releasing his hand, bottom lip protruding slightly, “it was full of lasers and giant balls. I would’ve gladly fought the monster instead.”
Understanding filled his features. Calloused fingers raised your chin until azure met yours. “Lynel.”
“Nope!” Up went your hands as if they were reaching for the sky while you spun on your heel. “Nope!”
His unadulterated laughter rang in your ears as the night drug onward. It seemed as if every moment your gazes met he had to bite the flesh of his lower lip to hold back a chuckle. A few times it was fun for you too. Especially when he was attempting to listen to the Zora King’s words and you attempted to distract him from a distance by raising your arms up in a similar fashion.
It wasn’t amusing just to the two of you. Several of the Zora found themselves enjoying the displays. Especially a certain red male who took the opportunity when his father, the king, held the Hylian Champion’s attention for longer than previous conversation topics.
Full, but not overly so, you excused yourself from the table to bow respectfully before slipping out into the night. Better to walk off a bit of the food before retiring. Pops sounded as you stretched high up onto your toe tips, teetering for a moment, then settled back on solid ground. Cooler though there was a slight sprinkle occasionally kissing your being, you treaded carefully across the smooth stone walkways that would eventually bring you to the inn. Now that it was night you could see more of the statue’s beauty thanks to the Luminous Stones. The teal glow reflected ethereally off the polished, moist stone as you slowly circled it with appreciation. There’s no doubt that Mipha, Zora Princess and the Zora Champion, had been who you saw earlier. On the breeze, just outside of the memorial’s shadow, a figure moved to join in your circulatory rotations. “She is truly stunning,” you softly praised, “I can tell a lot of care and admiration went into this statue.”
“I feel I must apologize once again.”
Your gazes met, locking together as neither of your paces or paths changed. Around and around the two of you seemed to dance. Sounds of the water filled the air as no words were spoken. This kind of silence wasn’t much different than what you were used to. The receiver, though, was vastly different. Not without his smile, the Prince of Zoras was distilling confidence wherever he went. Elders and young folk alike would often seek his council outside of royal duties; a few conversations that you’ve caught were of simple everyday occurrences. It was clear that all who lived here trusted him. Yet there was the air of uncertainty.
“You’re doing an amazing job.”
Sidon’s breath caught, eyes widening as you came to a stop so that his steps eventually brought him to stand before you. The same light bathing his sister’s monument now illuminated your being. Cool, humid air moistened your skin as it did the Zora and surrounding rock however he had never thought such an affect would accentuate one’s appearance as it did your own. Despite the blue hued light the highlights within your hair shone brightly like falling stars when a breeze played with a few tresses. Earlier, while sharing with you the stone tablets, he grew more familiar within your presence the longer he remained within it.
An assuring smile raised your lips at his expression of shock. “You’re trying your best to provide everything for your domain, whether it be resources like food or advice to soothe the soul. It’s alright to let them figure things out on their own. An easy answer to their problems doesn’t teach them anything, if you really think about it. Don’t be afraid to take breaks though, okay? Be sure to not wear yourself down. I may not have known her personally so I can’t speak on her behalf,” your hand reached out to gently take hold of his hand, “but if you were my younger brother I would want you to take care of yourself just as much as he does for his subjects—”
Whatever that was supposed to finish your sentence was lost as the ground disappeared to be replaced by toned muscle as pressure threatened to crush your bones. They weren’t needed though, judging from the large droplets of warm water that splattered across your skin that wasn’t protected by cloth. Just as quickly the red Zora Prince embraced you he released his hold to stand tall with that bright grin on display.
“I’ll continue to do my best!” He bent at the knee until the two of you were as close as his near neck breaking height would allow, approval shining brightly within his gaze. “Just you watch, (Y/n), I’m going to be even more admirable the next time you visit! And I’ll have a gift ready for you by then too so be sure to look forward to it!”
A gift? Excitement filled you. Maybe an accessory of some sort? “I can’t wait to accept it,” you started, “though if I could request something, may it not make me take this one off?”
His eyes followed your fingers to the circlet you wore. Deep thought filled his features for a moment before they smoothed over into one of acceptance. “Befitting if I’ve ever saw one, though the stone is lacking. Craftsmanship is adequate as well. Very well. Rest assured that my gift shall not dampen your beauty.” A knowing smirk raised his lips when seeing you fondly brushed the gem resting against the center of your forehead. “Ah, I see that it is your favorite, yes? No worries! My gift shall too become something you never wish to part from!”
Within your cheeks rose a faint blush of embarrassment. Were you really that easy to read? “The night is getting late, Prince Sidon, so I should retire to bed since we will be setting out at dawn’s light. In case I don’t see you, I look forward to seeing you again!” With a bow, you waved once more then departed for the nearby inn where sweet sleep was calling your name.
Little did you know that a certain swordsman had been watching the whole exchange from not too far off.

Blood and gold 4
Tumblr media
Part 1 part 2 part 3
Tw: Platonic yandere, injury, blood, clingy/overprotective behavior, reader having a panic attack.
I couldn't get much sleep as I had a painful headache, and I could hear thumping around the hotel. At first, I just assumed it was someone drunk, but I felt someone touch my face, and I opened one of my eyes a crack, and I saw the owner touching asirpa's face as well. But all of her focus was on her. I was too scared to move, but I didn't want this lady touching asirpa. I had enough as she tried to lick her eye. But I didn't have to do anything as sugimoto kicked the woman off us, though asirpa didn't wake up, I didn't until why. Maybe my headache had something to do with it. I tried to get up to help sugimoto, but I fell. Instead, my head was pounding. "What the hell were you doing to (y/n) and asirpa?" Sugimoto said, sounding very pissed off. "No, you have it all wrong!  I was just checking their health, (y/n) was acting odd, so I just wanted to make sure she was alright!" She begged, but I think sugimoto didn't care about what she was talking about. The loud banging on door further hurt my head, I heard shiraishi's voice on the other side. "Sugimoto! The owner is a tattooed prisoner! the one I told you about who was a doctor who experimented on his patients!" Hold on the woman is a man? I shivered, though I don't think it makes it more creepy.
I wanted to run, but my exit was blocked, but I couldn't run even if I tried. The doctor stood up and started to talk. "People are greedy creatures who want what they can't have. That's the human condition, and you know I'm right." Sugimoto seemed to not care about what the doctor said. "What you said is right, for example I'm going to skin you without a second thought." The doctor threw two needles in the air aiming at asirpa. I tried to catch them but got stabbed instead. "Shit...." I said in pain, but I quickly pulled them out. "Are you ok (y/n)?" Sugimoto asked, worried I was very annoyed. "Don't worry about me and get that bitch!" I yelled as I picked up asirpa and left the room looking for kiroranke, I eventually found him barely awake. But as i was trying to fully wake him up an explosion woke him up. I was visibly shaking in fear. "What the hell is happening?" He asked as dragged him toward an exit. "There is a prisoner here and he wanted to eat asirpa...." I didn't know how to explain it better before another explosion happened. kiroranke quickly rushed me down the stairs ware we met sugimoto and shiraishi ran up too us yelling about a bomb. Though he couldn't explain as the stars turned into a slide and we all slid down. But before we could get up a large flash of light engulfed us before a large blast destroyed the hotel.
We managed to stay unhurt, and asirpa woke up, though I don't know who could stay awake through that. I found the nearest hiding spot I could fined and curled up into a ball. I tried to calm myself down, but a few tears fell. The others didn't notice I was gone yet, which was for the best. It was about ten minutes until they started to call out for me, which was more than enough time to calm myself down. I quickly rejoined the group. "We need to make money to buy more explosives." Kiroranke stated. The others seemed very annoyed with shiraishi seeing the destruction it was understandable. "There is a kotan nearby, I have relatives there, so we can hunt to make money." I was uncomfortable with it, but i couldn't do anything as the others already agreed to the plan. So I watched as asirpa break the neck of an adorable for who was stuck in a trap. Foxes was my favorite animal, so it made the sight worse, but it needed to happen. Kiroranke patted the top of my head. I ordered to confort me. "None of this would've happened if you didn't waste the explosives shiraishi..." I said in an angry tone. Kiroranke decided to use this chance to piss me off more  "He also borrowed borrowed money from asirpa and then lost it by betting on races." This made me more mad, so I walked over to asirpa and stuck my hand out. "Stick." Asirpa quickly gave me the thick stick, I then looked at shiraishi for a few seconds before sprinting at him. And beating him with the stick, the others looked on with approval.
When we got back into the kotan, asirpa started to talk to an elder, but I didn't pay much attention. I really didn't care much, though it was mentioned in the conversation that another woman was visiting, and she claims she could the past and future. This caught my attention, maybe she could tell my future. I saw the woman approach us. She was unique in a good way. Before anyone could say anything, shiraishi tried to flirt with her. "I'm shiraishi. I'm single with no girlfriend." I cringed a little, but I'm glad the woman played it off and looked at shiraishi. "Tell me sir you came from otaru Did, you not?" I was surprised. "I can tell it plainly you're looking for someone or something." Shiraishi's mind was blown, but I wasn't too surprised this time. While the woman was explaining her fortune telling abilities, I wondered off wanting to explore a bit. And get some time to myself. Sugimoto and kiroranke were getting too clingy, even shiraishi started to try and get close to me. I don't understand. I was surprised that I got so far, but I wasn't complaining too much, I eventually found a town and started to walk around exploring a bit. Though there wasn't much to do but I caught a glimpse of someone familiar at first. I thought it was nothing, but as I got a second look, it was that sniper ogata who tried to kill Tanigaki.
I froze, but I could tell that he couldn't see me, so I quickly made my way out of town or at least tried. I wasn't looking where I was walking and bumped into a man wearing a green suit. "I'm really sorry, sir. I didn't mean to." I said rather quickly, not bothering to mask my fear. As I got a better look at him, he was an old man with long white hair. He looked a little annoyed but not angry. "Next time, watch ware you're walking and head home. You look too young to be around here." I quickly nodded. "Thank you..." I said before rushing off again. I headed back to the kotan, though by the time I got there, they were gone. I started to panic again, I fucked up big time I think they left me. Should I just start to go to abashiri prison and they'll be there? Or should I stop because they had enough of me? I'm going to be abandoned again! I didn't follow the rules, it's my fault can I fix this? I was over thinking but I couldn't calm myself down. I started to cry the first time I did so ever since I joined sugimoto's group. Calming down seemed Impossible so I cried for what felt like hours but it was probably a half an hour.
I was curled up in a ball when I heard yelling. At first, I couldn't tell who was yelling, but as they got closer, I wanted to hide, and I started to cry again. The person quickly noticed this, and they rushed over, and I covered my head in fear. "(Y/n)? Are you alright?" I looked up and saw kiroranke, I couldn't hide my tears. He rushed over and looked if I was injured when he couldn't find anything. He then hugged me tightly in a way to try and calm me down. Soon, he rocked me back and forth while humming something. Soon, I heard another voice coming over it was clear it was sugimoto, and he sounded angry. "Whare the hel-" He quickly shut up when he saw me crying. "We need to head back." He said in a quiet tone. I nodded as I got out of kiroranke's hug and wiped my remaining tears. Sugimoto gave me a light side hug as we walked to the kotan. "We are going to hibari. You need to stay with someone at all times." Sugimoto said seriously. I nodded, not wanting something like this to happen again. When we got to the kotan, asirpa ran up to me. "Why did you run off?" She asked a little irritated. "I was bored, so I thought I could look in the town nearby for any clues, but when I came back, you guys weren't here." I said, embarrassed by my actions.
Shiraishi tensed up a little. "Did you find anything?" He asked, sounding nervous. "Not really..." I debated telling the others about ogata and decided against it. Shiraishi relaxed, and we got ready to leave for hibari. While it was nice to travel again, I was worried about fighting again. We stopped to rest, shiraishi and kiroranke left and came back with salmon. It was nice to eat something fresh again instead of frozen or dried suff, but I couldn't really complain as I wasn't starving. Me and asirpa lay down early to get some rest, I didn't sleep on the way there. This time, I could actually sleep as I didn't have any nightmares, which I was happy about. I woke up when asirpa yelled at shiraishi for something again. I didn't pay attention to why, as I was too busy actually waking up, then we started to travel again. I was excited to see new places, though I was a little anxious to see what the future holds.
As we got into town, I stayed with shiraishi and sugimoto as the others questioned locals about the tattoos. They spotted a soldier running and decided to follow him they were fast, but I managed to keep up. I contemplated keeping a distance from them, but I decided against it. And a green house came into few, sugimoto and shiraishi entered first. I wait a little bit as before entering the entry room. I had a few taxidermy animals, and I didn't know if I should be impressed or creeped out. There was a man shot in head on the ground it didn't bother me as much now, though I didn't look at it more. I stayed with sugimoto as shiraishi left to explore the rest of the house, but he quickly came back. "I think the man here made fake skins, and the soldier that ran by stole them, we need to go after him now!" Shiraishi said, trying to rush me and sugimoto out to go after the soldier. Though, when I tried to stay behind the two of them, like before, shiraishi stopped me and pushed me in front of him. It was odd, but I couldn't do anything to stop it.
My lungs were burning as we arrived at a coal mine. I didn't like where this was going, but I couldn't go anywhere because sugimoto had to tight grip on my wrist. As we were talking about how to find the soldier, a cart flew by us, and it had a soldier and a man in a bear suit. "There!" Shiraishi yelled, and we got into another cart and chased after them. I could only get a glimpse of two people in front of us before I was shoved to the bottom of the cart. "Stay down (y/n)!" Shiraishi yelled as he pushed me down it hurt to be shoved into the wood, but I stayed down for a few seconds. I assumed that the other soldiers started to shoot at us because of the gunfire. so I took my chance, and when I heard the gunfire stop, I aimed at the soldier and took a few shots before hiding again, I missed, but it was worth the try. When we entered the mine, I stayed down, but something still hit me, rocks. I felt a little blood going down my face, though it didn't hurt much. I heard the squeal of wheels coming from their cart, and we quickly bumped into them. Sugimoto quickly tried to get out and grab what I assumed was the fake skins but was hit by the soldier's rifle.
Me and shiraishi then lunged to the other cart, though he avoided getting hit with the rifle. I was able to get a hold onto the bag briefly but was hit in the head by something, causing me to lose my grip and almost blacking out. I was pulled back into the cart by sugimoto and shiraishi, and the track split, so we lost sight of the other cart quickly. I couldn't move well as a weird smell filled the air, but we couldn't do anything before there was an explosion. I had enough with these explosions. Couldn't anything else happen?! I was flung back into the wall in a way to fully knock me out. I only woke up when I was outside and I was on the ground. I was covered in Bruises and cuts and hurt all over but alive. I sat up and looked around and saw people around me. I could hear talking but I couldn't focus, I felt eyes on me but I couldn't really move was I dying? Well, if I was thinking I wasn't dying, so I guess I'm alive.  I felt someone's hand on my chin, which caused me to panic. I didn't know who it was, so I bit the hand. The small scream of pain helped me recognize the person, shiraishi. But it also made me feel like I was shot in the head. It hurt so much. I lay back down and started to whimper.
I heard another voice which was full of worry. "Is she going to be ok?" It was asirpa's voice. "Just give her time. She hit her head pretty hard, so we need to wait for her to wake up fully." It took me about thirty minutes to be able to fully control myself, but I was sill weak. "Drink." Sugimoto handed me a cup of water, I grabbed it, but I was shaking a lot, so I couldn't drink. So sugimoto grabbed it back and held it for me, I was nice, but I couldn't drink much. I noticed the whole group was here but also there was the man from the hotel here too. They were talking about something, but I didn't listen, not caring much. Though they stopped talking and looked towards the mine again so I turned around and saw ogata walking towards us, I couldn't care at this point. "We'll take them with us." Fuck my life.

The Gift of Trust
Tumblr media
Notes: Viktor still has a Professor kink apparently. Also this is boring, I apologise. I write like a Bronte sister, that's on me. Also, also: I have an AO3.
Context: Anya is a wealthy prospective donor, who grew up with Viktor in Zaun. She is an alumnus of the Academy and a mage and a theoretical physicist; she gained her wealth by winning the lottery; she is a different, humanoid species. After a violent encounter with the head of Public Relations, Viktor has been put in charge of courting her as a donor, and seeing she is apprised of the Academy's projects that her donation will be funding. This takes place one week after The Favor of Fortune.
Previous Chapter | Next Chapter
Anya had not walked the halls of the Academy in several years. It still felt the same, smelled the same, and the light still shone through the stained glass in the perfect way at the perfect hours of the day. She had not realized how much she missed it. She had been fortunate enough to attend the Academy on a full scholarship, her parents could never have afforded her tuition on their own. They were poor, meager people from Zaun, who survived selling spell bags and healing tinctures, with a client base that relied solely on word of mouth. Mages were not looked well upon, and she had kept her abilities hidden in the years she had been in Piltover. Especially when she was at the Academy.
The only one who knew about her abilities was Viktor. His mother had brought him to her mother many years ago, when they were small children. Shortly after he contracted polio, Viktor’s mother beseeched her mother for any form of healing she knew – she was willing to give as much money as she had, or barter for any wares she had to offer. Anya’s mother accepted none of it. It would have been dishonorable, her mother said, to take payment to heal another woman’s child. It was a gift to give life and health to a child – regardless if she had birthed them herself. The only thing Anya’s mother asked in return was secrecy.
Anya remembered her mother using magic to help heal Viktor’s illness, she remembered her laying poultices across his back and leg. Anya helped make the paste that went across his skin. She doubted Viktor remembered it, even now. He was ill with a high fever and slept most of the time he was under her mother’s care. When he felt well, after his treatment had run its course, he learned of her presence when she brought him water to drink and food to eat. They were still young children, and yet she had such vivid memories – as if she had been an adult all her life.
She wondered if he felt similarly.
Anya entered a lecture hall as the top of the hour rang throughout the Academy. She slipped inside almost unnoticed, and took an empty seat near the door and away from the students’ attention.
Viktor stood at the front of the lecture hall, leaning on his cane and reading from a notebook. He had bags under his eyes and his color looked washed and pale. She could tell he had not slept the night before.
“Good morning,” he began. “My name is Viktor. I am assistant to the Dean. I will be instructing this class while your regular Professor is away on maternity leave. You will be given a quiz, so that I can discern where your abilities lie in this class –”
The students made a collective fuss and groan.
He looked at them with a quiet chuckle. “It will not count towards your grade.” As he surveyed his class, his eye caught a woman sitting at the far end of the room, near the door. He took a double look and saw it to be Anya. She had threatened to ‘audit his class’ but he had not believed her to be serious.
She gave him a smile and a nod as they met eyes.
She was beautiful – no longer dressed in her culture’s formal wear, she donned a simple soft pink opaque dress, with sleeves that fell along her arms and left her shoulders bare; its skirt was a thicker fabric, but still airy and gathered at her feet; and its bodice was lined with boning. Her hair still wrapped in a sheer veil, it trailed down her side. He found himself distracted with surprise at her presence, especially when she had not called upon him to meet regarding her donation. He regretted the class was not something more advanced to keep her interest – and he hoped she did not mean to bring him bad news about rescinding her contribution.
“Your quiz will begin momentarily.” He gathered his attentions back to the present and limped to the desk, only two steps away. A large stack of papers rested on the edge of the desk, and he bolstered himself to walk and pass them out to every row in the hall.
“Professor?” Anya called, the hint of teasing under her breath.
He felt a warm thrall at the nape of his neck as she called him. He turned to see her waiting expectantly for his response. “I am not a professor,” he corrected her, hiding a simper.
“What may we call you?” she asked.
He looked at the rest of the class, noting it would be helpful to clarify. “You may simply call me Viktor.” He hoisted the stack of papers into his arm and began to pass them out, starting with Anya.
“Viktor –” she called again and looked up at him as he stood in front of her. “May I help you distribute these?”
He looked at her, relieved, and nodded. “Thank you, Miss Anya.”
“It is my pleasure,” she said and stood to take them.
Anya passed out every paper to every student, and returned to her seat at the far end of the classroom. When the students were finished, she collected them without being asked, and returned them to Viktor’s desk. She aided the student next to her as they struggled to comprehend a concept written on the blackboard; she asked questions that would expound upon what Viktor taught; and when the class was finished she erased the notations on the board so he could start fresh for the next class.
Viktor sat slumped in his chair, with his head in his hand.
“I can stay for your other classes,” she spoke in their shared, native language.
“No,” he promptly shook his head. “I cannot ask you to do that.”
“You are not,” she chuckled. “I offered.”
He sighed and looked at her as he propped himself up in the chair. “I am grateful.”
“You did not sleep last night, did you?” she asked.
“No, not at all. I was…” he hesitated and glanced at her, debating whether or not to confide in her. It was Jayce’s proprietary project, and he had not gotten permission to share it with anyone else. Regardless, he knew Anya to be integritous and a confidant. “I was helping a new friend with a project. We were here all night, in Heimerdinger’s lab.”
“Did it turn out well?”
“It did,” he said, uneasily – thinking of the explosion the crystal had caused, it had taken out numerous windows and sent the rest of the laboratory into disarray. Heimerdinger was still upset that his books had been blown off the shelves.
She laughed. “You don’t sound convinced.”
“It will take work. A lot more work,” he said and leaned on the desk to stretch his back. “But it is work I am willing to do. I offered my help to this acquaintance.”
“It sounds like a big project.”
“It has the potential to help people – save lives. That is all I have wanted to do.” He put his face in his palm as he turned to her. He thought of Anya and her mother, the innate magic that ran through their species’ blood. “Do you help others, as your mother did?”
Her brows raised in surprise, she had not expected him to mention their past. “I did. I took my mother’s place as a healer after my parents were killed. Before I got out of Zaun. I have not done it since. After I left Zaun, after I graduated the Academy, I worked in an energy research lab. I left magic behind. I worry about being exposed and imprisoned. I finally have freedom – I don’t want it taken away.”
He took a deep breath and nodded. “You may not have to worry for long,” he said.
She furrowed, uncertain if he meant something sinister. “Why?”
He paused a moment, still debating whether to confide in her. But then, he had a marvellous idea – he would bring her into the project altogether. “The project I am working on involves magic. It has been approved by Heimerdinger and the Council. I believe you could be an asset.”
She shook her head. “I don’t know – I don’t want others to know about me –”
“They wouldn’t have to. You could be a silent partner,” he said and sat up again, more excited at the prospect of working with her. “Your background in theoretical physics and your experience in magic could be what we need.”
She thought, looking away from him and instead to the chalk dust that gathered on the floor beneath the blackboard behind him. She had been offered a job as a Professor in theoretical physics nearly a year ago, right before her fortunes had changed and she won the lottery. Getting her finances in order took precedence and she was never able to accept the position – but she would not have been happy with it, regardless. Anya did not relish the idea of being locked away in some classroom, chained to others who did not appreciate her efforts.
But Viktor appreciated them. He valued her intellect. He saw her potential.
His offer was enticing, but the fear of her own preservation grappled for her heart.
He saw the worry drawn deep into her features. She was so placid and smooth, to see the lines of fear carved into her was unusual and unnerving. He placed a hand on the desk, towards her – hoping to comfort her. “I will ask my acquaintance if I can consult with someone I know. No one will know. No one ever has.”
She met his eye again and breathed with relief. His mother had kept her promise – and he had inherited it. “Very well,” she agreed.
The Academy bell chimed the top of the next hour, and Viktor ran his hands down his face as he leaned back in his seat. He was mentally preparing himself for the two other classes he had later that day, though he was grateful he still had some time to rest and grade papers.
“In the meantime,” Anya said, “I can stay the rest of the day to help. You look like you don’t feel well,” she chuckled as he rolled his head and met her with tired eyes. Her warm fingers caressed his chin and she stood to leave. “I’ll get us some coffee.”
He thanked her and watched as she left the hall. There was a canteen not far from the classroom, she would be back in only a few minutes with food and drink.
It was one of Viktor’s earliest memories of her, of life itself: little Anya kneeling beside him as he lay on a stiff mattress inside a dimly lit room, her having brought him food and drink. The smell inside the room had been overpowering – vegetation and herbs, the stench of water and humidity. His fever had broken and he could finally see straight. Anya was the first thing he saw. She held in her hand a small, round piece of unleavened flatbread, and a glass of warm water sat on the floor beside her. It was bland and stale, but it was the sweetest thing he ever tasted.
He sat there at his desk, waiting on his friend to return, and he wondered, how he could repay her? He asked much of her, even if he did not ask it himself: aid in his classroom, aid on his project, aid for the Academy. She gave freely, and of her own volition. But, still, he felt he had nothing to give her in return.
She wanted for nothing, he had nothing he could teach her, and what small tinkering he had done in his spare time made no dent in the debt he had acquired to her in his life.
By the end of the day, Viktor was nearly slumped over his notebook in the lab, his mind still working on a way to tangibly thank her for her favor.
“You alright?” Jayce asked.
Viktor sat up and rolled his neck, still thinking of Anya. “I have a contact who I believe has valuable insight to this technology,” he said. “I would like to show them our notes.”
Perplexed, but grateful for Viktor’s connections, Jayce agreed. “Sure. Do you trust them?”
Viktor looked at his partner, and remembered once again the night Anya had brought him food and water when he was a boy. It had been so many years ago, much had changed – and yet the two of them stayed the same. He realized, despite the years they had spent apart, he trusted her implicitly, as he did then. He realized, in the same moment, that she also trusted him. She had told no one else of her fortune, neither had she confided in anyone else of her abilities; the idea that she felt safe with him nestled itself into his heart, and he felt himself moved.
“With my life,” he said.
Perhaps that was gratitude enough: to be trusted, and to trust. To be her truest and purest friend.

After the parent's birthday, winter finally hits Brindleton Bay. Snow covers the ground and crops wilt, but the Waring family carries on with life.
Tumblr media
The snow comes down as a blanket, making it hard to walk around, Elijah does his best to clear the areas. He's up early to shovel any snow near the property. And he's glad to do it so he can be any help towards his family.
Tumblr media
The twins love the seasons, playing around in the snow. Their parents worry for Cato's health, but the snow doesn't seem to cause negative consequences, everyone is still healthy. The toddlers continue to have play as they do.

With winter comes a welcomed break for Ishmael and he's able to be there more for his children. One of the first things he does with this newfound freedom, is taking Daphne outside to see the snow that covers the land. It seems she loves it. But he also helps put the twins to bed when it's time for them to sleep. He'll never ceased to be amazed by the love he has for his children.

Sable , on the other hand, is still busy but she makes time to take a moment to play with her children. She has a soft spot for Cato, with him being healthy enough during the winter, it's a small miracle.

But even if Sable wants it to, the work doesn't stop. She is still expected to cook, clean, and care for the household. Though Ishmael is able to help with the children more, due to so little farm work, she still finds herself doing most of the housework herself. She carries on, it's familiar work so it's not difficult just tedious.
