... Man, I keep thinking back to all those discussions regarding the similarities and contrasts between the omen twins vs. the empyrean twins.
Between Morgott and Malenia, and how they both try to deny their respective curses. How Mohg and Miquella both dabble in blood.
How Miquella and Malenia remained close, as brother and sister, where's the omen twins - possibly - drifted apart due to differing paths.
... Yet in the end, Miquella abandoned even Malenia. It might not have been his intent; but by the time we do reach him, he's, imo, very dismissive.
... Which kinda leads me to think: Were Morgott still alive, he might have come to save Mohg -- and if not that, then to atleast avenge him.

So here is the order of Demigods being born for me:
1) Messmer (he is a Demigod since you get "Demigod Felled" message upon beating him, so yeah, Marika would have to already be a God when he was born)
2) Melina (she is said to be his little sister, but statue in his chamber depicts Marika holding only one child, so I assume they aren't twins, but must have similar circumstances! also she is either GEQ or carries Marika's burden for killing GEQ in a similar manner as Messmer carries her burden for killing Fell God, but in either case Melina's existence as we know her is a cornerstone for the start of Golden Order. It started with removing Destined Death from Elden Ring!!!)
3) Godwyn (a start of Golden Lineage, doesn't seem like Messmer and Melina belong to that one in particular. makes sense if Golden Order started after Melina)
4) Radahn (must have existed before Crusade as Messmer was an older brother figure for him. however, if he had the need for older brother figures, that means Rykard was definitely not his older brother, right?)
5) Rykard (above + Ranni is said to be younger than him)
6) Ranni (mention of princesses, plural, likely refers to at least her and Rellana, and Ranni is mentioned as only one princess left in that context)
7) Morgott and Mohg (I assume that Omen curse upon Lands Between was borne from Hornsent cursing Marika and all her ilk and everyone who as much as born within her order etc etc... so, after Crusade started)
8) Miquella and Malenia (Rellana left to pursue Messmer and Rennala gifted her own hair to her to be remembered by, so she had not yet lose her mind over divorce)
+ Alternatively, Rykard is the oldest Carian; since he is blond, maybe it means that Radagon's connection with Marika was still strong in his firstborn and he was yet to process existing in separation? Radahn seeing Messmer and Gaius like older brothers doesn't necessarily exclude Rykard!

When it comes to Morgott we all can agree he is just build... different✨ (that shoulders five times his head *shivers*) So there are some of my thoughts if u wanna read them because they kinda explain my take on him in this drawing lol
I was thinking recently more about his fur and how it looks on his body. It's patchy, It looks rough and uneven... Even his tail when you look closer, It's shape is more defined by the muscles rather than the hair on it. Every artist drawing him gives him much more fluff and I truly think it's well deserved. And from the game design/lore perspective it's completely understandable. He is made to look grotesque, deformed, aged and ugly even... That's all intended... BUT!
I was thinking... What if it's mostly just lack of... maintenance? Lack of care. Malnourishment and neglect of a kind? We know that the Erdtree has a kind of sickening effects on Omens as well. Mohg is for sure holding up much better and I kind of don't believe they would be so much different from eachother (the influence of Formless Mother on Mohgs looks is after all not entirely known). He has more pride in himself and so he carries himself better than his brother that is still loyal and so close to the Golden Order. Mohg took his chance at getting away from the Erdtree and I think it is obvious that this freedom did him some good. I personally belive that Morgott could also achive such change if it wasn't for his deep rooted loyality to the Order and crippling self-resentment.
So to sum my thoughts up... What if he's just not thriving?
Just imagine this kind of idealistic scenario when he can finally put his needs first. When he can take care of himself or let others care for him. He puts on some more weight, rounding up his already muscular body giving it softer, healthier look. His furr thickens and follows up to the rest of his body not just limbs (could be just as thick as the rest or more like a soft fuzz maybe idk). His posture straightens, as with healthy body comes healthy mind. Of course, he is still an old man at the end of it. The years made their mark on his features and some of them are irreversable. But he is healing~
And I personaly love imaginging him in this healing state that unfortuntly is impossible to get in game. But game is game and fan work is fan work. And in my tiny rotten brain I give him little forehead kisses and tell him how precious he is uwu

Number 1 Miquella defender.
Seriously tho (TL:DR), I'm seeing a lot of people online dismissing his character as pure evil, and it's insane to see. Although most of this is my fault for thinking the average gamer thinks about anything deeper than brainrot memes. DLC spoilers btw.
In a universe where there are like a dozen characters guilty of dozens of war crimes and genocide, calling the queer coded femboy pure evil for letting 2 people die and sacrificing himself to End Racism, War, and Genocide is a wild take.
I don't think I'd mind as much, but Ranni's ending and the Frenzied Flame endings are the two most beloved endings by the community. Like, it's ok for Ranni to kill her brother, but Miquella stealing his half brother's body after we kill him is too far.
It's ok to kill everyone because it means Melina gets to live. But Miquella making himself a god to save his sister from a life of constant horrible pain means he is power-hungry and evil.
And this isn't mentioning the whole "trecherous twink" and "Miquelester" memes that are rooted in homophobia.
But that part has a lot to do with misinformation being spread about Miquella's powers. People believing biased people who already decided to hate Miquella making up his powers or taking every bit of dialog or text to the absolute extremes.
The most obvious example being Mogh and how Miquella charmed him. I've seen delusional people go as far as to say Miquella mind controlled Mogh into starting a genocide and a blood cult. This despite the fact that it's entirely possible that Mogh started this process before Miquella was even born yet. Mogh was ambitious and wanted to be Consort to the next God. By all lore, even with the DLC, Mogh wasn't forced into anything. The line of text about the bloody bed chamber is also taken to the furthest extreme despite sexual violence and sec in general being devoid from all fromsoft games.
Even in Dark Souls, where cross breeding is canon and maidens being experimented on is also canon, actual sexual violence can only be inferred, and even then it's fringe theories. In reality, Miquella dies quite early as Mogh puts him in the cacoon and the "bloody bedchamer" is literal as in Mogh lives inside Miquella's blood. Making Miquella's corpse quite literally a bloody bedchamber.
But even if the incest happens. Yes, Mogh beats the rapist and kidnapper allegations, but nothing says he was forced into this. Miquella's power operates by making others not think negatively about him. While it can be argued that the use of the power is coercion, that is not the debate being had, and everything in the dlc shows us that his power can not force anyone to do anything. He can just convince people more easily.
Mogh is a tragic character like Morgott yes, but he is still a horrible person. The Tarnished (the player) kills him as easily as every other boss in the game. Miquella tricking Mogh and using the Tarnished killing him to steal his body is a bad thing.
I won't argue that Miquella's plan has some victims. Even if Radahn made a vow to be his Consort, Miquella still needed him dead to join him in the Land of Shadows. Radahn suffered even if he accepts Miquella by his own free will at the end.
As Ansbach says, taking Mogh's body is a horrible thing to do. Even if Ansbach is a murder cultist and heavily biased, he is right that it was still wrong to do. Ansbach even finds himself taking neither side and instead asking the Tarnished to make a new order. (It's just ironic that Ansbach describes what Miquella wants for the world)
Miquella sacrificing so much of himself is sad. We hear St Trina who is Miquella and likely Miquella's sense of Love personified, beg us to kill Miquella. Not because Miquella is evil, not because St Trina felt betrayed, but because Miquella can't love himself anymore and can accept the prison that is godhood.
And we see Miquella abandon his doubts right before he abandons his love and Trina, hiding them away from danger. We know even after sacrificing every bit of himself, he was still scared facing the Gates of Divinity. He leaves behind even his fear.
He does this all to fix the countless sins of his Mother and extended family and heal himself and his sister's curses.
It's not a coincidence Miquella's first action as a God is removing his own curse and taking the form as an adult. Showing despite everything, his goals remain the same. But of course, as the current or soon to be Elden lord ourselves, we stop him before he ever gets a chance to try fixing the world.
Some Tarnished even go out of their way to the Haligtree, slaughtering refugees from war, and killing Malenia, his sister, in cold blood. And I think this level of moral complexity and lack of clear right and wrong in the world of Elden Ring is tripping up so many people.
They see Mogh be a victim as a child and be tricked by Miquella and cannot fathom how he could still be evil. The genocide he is committing and his blood cult of murderous knights and "medics" are ignored.
Ranni can be forgiven because she is hot. Maliketh is never held at fault for what Marika does or did despite him only ever defending her and helping her. He is just super cool. We are the Tarnished so even when we chose the evil endings, there is still justification for it.
But the femboy who is very strongly queer coded can't be forgiven or understood. And another part of it is Griffith. Griffith is another morally complex feminine prince type character. Miyazaki is famously a massive berserk fanboy so characters like Prince Gwyndolin and Prince Lothric were often compared. But Miquella got the comparison the worst. Berserk spoilers btw.
And Griffith is objectionably a horrible person even before the Eclipse and when he stops being Griffith and becomes Femto. His moral complexity and the many nuances of his character often get forgotten because of the Eclipse, because of his horrible actions. Griffith being SA'd, self harming, having an unhealthy often one sided toxic love, and having so much self doubt that he nearly breaks down several times is forgotten about. They label him as pure evil and any deeper discussions about him as a character are lost.
And Miquella, as soon as he got the Griffith comparison because of his looks was destined for a similar fate when it is revealed he is an antagonist in the DLC. Griffith is pure evil, Miquella has a ton of similarities and thematic parallels to Griffith, so obviously, Miquella is pure evil. The classic no media literacy response.
I am yelling into he void I know, but I love writing and I love Miquella as a character so much. I think deep analysis and reflection is valuable even if it's just me talking to myself.

It just struck me that narrative wise, Morgott having a heavy tail and Mohg having large wings may not have been a completely random choice on the part of fromsoft....the omen twins were both shackled to the ground in the sewers, one of the two still heavily worships the guilty system none the less. Morgott clearly toiled to keep the crumbling status quo a float, draining him. The tail could represent that he is still shackled in spirit.(Look at his tail 😭)
But the other, Mohg, possesses so rebellious a spirit, his wings symbolizes a strong sense of independence and freedom. Man got out, and unlike his brother said fuck yall and flew away.

I still think, delusional as I am, that Marika loved Morgott and Mohg...
Not enough. Not like she did her other children, but loved nonetheless. Like Catelyn Stark loved Jon Snow, but only whenever she did not see him; when he wasn't there to remind her of her anger towards Ned for infidelity.
Marika loved Mohg and Morgott whenever they were not there to remind her she was broken and she was fooled by a broken guidance (Staff of the Great Beyond, Count Ymir Dialogue).
This one goes to headcanon territory.
Tumblr media
All Marika was given or gained, or she made, was twisted and fragile; her children born cursed, and her order weak from the seams.
With all we know, it's not difficult to guess what made Marika like this. If Metys is to blame for skewed guidance, the Hornsent are to blame for the rest... (Whipping Hut Phantom, Tooth Whip)
Marika was no doubt subjected to the same torture, and it changed her. Considering this, it's no short a miracle she didn't have Morgott and Mohg killed right away. It wouldn't surprise a soul if she'd done so.
A removed npc, Lord Shane Haight, reveals to us the people of Leyndell would gladly maim even their savior, their king, if proven an Omen. If so, they would also gladly denounce their God if proven she had given birth to one. Why would Marika take such a risk?
Did Godfrey force Marika to do so?
Tumblr media
Possible, yet Godfrey does not come off a man who'd not understand the consequences, nor a man who - after having to beg his wife to spare his own children - would still love her so fiercely he'd go through hell like the Badlands for her, (Unused Dialogue, Melina's Dialogue Third Church of Marika).
And return so they could be together a God and Lord once more.
No, Marika loved all her children, even Mohg and Morgott. She made sure they would both stay hidden, but had both educated. Allowed Morgott to use the Veil so he could come out of the sewers, and allowed him to study magic.
She even allowed him to gain enough political power to form his own private militia; the Night's Cavalry were operational even before Godwyn's death (Story Trailer, Black Knight Tiche) .
Tumblr media
She loved them, but not enough. Every time she'd see them, she'd be filled with rage from the memories of what the Hornsent did to her, and shame of knowing her Golden Order was false. The birth of the twins was the beginning of her disillusionment of the Greater Will.
Morgott would sympathise with her, but Mohg wouldn't take events before his birth to be a justification enough for his and his brother's mistreatment. While his brother was obedient, he chose a path he knew he deserved.
You do not need to be a monster to drive others to the extreme. Marika led Morgott to believe love could be gained with atonement and self-sacrifice, and Mohg to understand love should not have conditions.

i mentioned it in the replies of one of my posts, but i love how tied morgott and mohg are in soul despite their differences. their great runes occupying the same tower is one thing, but the possibilities that they work together in some capacity despite having such fundamental differences in beliefs is so interesting.
there's nothing that explicitly states that they're collaborating on anything, but i feel you can get real far if you let your mind wander. their shared occupation of the shunning grounds, morgott and mohg's matching shackles, morgott's sword having that bloodflame slice ability, the complimentary ways that they fight with morgott's speed and mohg's strength, mohg's illusion guarding the frenzied flame proscription with morgott's seal hidden behind him... there's so much to work with there!
the last part is what interests me the most, tbh. something peculiar about this setup is how morgott's illusions work; when he summons margit in stormveil and out in altus, gold shimmers around him while a symbol bearing the sigil of the crucible appears on the ground beneath margit. when he summons godfrey's spirit, the same symbol and golden hue appears on him. but with mohg, no such gold appears, nor any symbol. he merely materialises out of thin air.
this is interesting because of the fact that this means morgott didn't summon him. not only because he doesn't show up with the symbol or gold, but also because when you kill morgott, his margit illusions in stormveil and altus also disappear if you don't kill them before morgott. this doesn't happen with mohg in the sewers, who can be fought before you even get to godfrey, even if you kill mohg in his palace first before any of them. but why is that?
i personally believe that it's because mohg's illusion is not one born from the same magic that morgott uses for his incantations. i know, shocking, the golden order fanboy and the formless mother fanboy use different spells, but it does serve to explain why mohg's illusion stays even when the man himself was slain first. it sets their magic apart very clearly and decisively, but also grants more insight into their collaboration.
mainly because i think that morgott and mohg working together on this can fit into 2 different possible reasonings behind the nature of their relationship. the first being that this is a begrudging truce built off of mutual respect and fear of the frenzied flame, and that they don't agree on much else beyond that and are estranged otherwise. the second being that they still work together in some capacity and still hold even the slightest bit of affection for each other, and guardianship over the frenzied flame using the magic they are best at (illusions and seals) is testament to that.
both are plenty compelling, though i find myself more drawn to the 2nd reason. i wonder if there was a time before miquella where mohg was establishing his dynasty and his brother, a fanatic of the golden order, turned a blind eye to his actions out of love. its probable that morgott and mohg never publicly acknowledged their familial connection, since neither varre nor ansbach make any mention of mohg having a brother, nor does anyone (barring shaneheight) know that morgott is actually an omen. it could be that, when mohg left the sewers to establish his dynasty, morgott let the matter lie and the two went their separate ways rather amicably, if a little bitter.
as per usual, this was just a huge ramble with no direction. just musings pretty much. i love thinking about these guys a lot.

HUGE fan of morgott the omen king as a character. disabled son of god was thrown into the sewers to be left for dead with his twin brother, climbs out of the sewers, wants to still work hard and become god’s favorite and uphold the law, becomes king under the disguise that he’s abled, and then still upholds god’s law that all disabled undesirables just like him are thrown into the sewers. crazy

Thinking of the Age of Duskborn as a scenario that Godwyn returns as a necromancer. And Those Who Live in Death are his children, and also his weapon. "The dead have long been left to wander; what they need is leadership", as said in the Tibia's Summons. The Prince of Death is now their paternal figure, afterall they are the dusk born, but he is also their leader.
But a soulless leader. And he can't retrieve the soul he lost so long ago. He doesn't even know if his soul still exists somewhere in that world. The only thing, the closest thing he has of his own soul, is his family. But even them are dead.
His mother, as a goddess still, is locked gestating the rune that brought him back. As some sort of hope; hope that he, her golden prince, her favorite child, can mend what is broken and, perhaps, mend himself back together. His father is dead, killed in order for him to be brought back as the Lord of those lands. Morgott is killed, sacrificed himself in order to protect their home. Mohg was stolen, his soul ripped out on purpose — just as his own. Messmer succumbed to his own curse, dying alone so far from home. And, as a necromancer, there is his purpose.
He wants his family back. He wants what made his soul real. He will bring them back. Each one of them. And if Messmer's flames could burn body and soul, the Prince of Death's flames can raise the dead. And, at some point, he needs to cross the veil. And find out why Mohg's soul was stolen. Why Messmer was discarded. And why Miquella is still alive, trying desperately to build his own Age of Compassion. And that relationship, until now so dear, so genuine, becomes sour. And the lovely embrace represented by a statue at the Haligtree is something dangerous now.
He drags Morgott with him, as well as Godfrey, so that he can return them to Mohg and rebuild the family. But it is Messmer, his older brother, he takes to his side: because it was how his Mother always intended. The Golden and the Order. And, as twin princes of a distant land from a different game, he can say "Rise, if would... For that is our curse."

imagine younger morgott and mohg growing up in the sewers. theyre big enough to use the weapons their dad left for them, but he hasnt come back to see them in a long time. they dont really know whats going on in leyndell, except MAYBE the ceiling shakes sometimes and dragon shrieking happens a LOT. the sewers absolutely suck major balls: the other omens arent exactly their allies, they never know when an omenkiller might show up, and theres part of the sewers where crazy people shoot fire out of their faces. they just avoid that place as much as possible.
and then one day, one of them hears something down a tunnel. an omen spotting something and going on the offensive before its opponent can. but instead of the sounds of combat, theres a squeak of surprise and an incantation's chime. lavender light appears from the same direction, followed by a girls whisper echoing, "youre probably grumpy because youre tired. a nice nap should help. sweet dreams!"
a little girl with long lavender hair walks through the sewers with all the comfort she might through a flower filled meadow, perfectly at home with all the grime and muck, and a smile on her face as she hums to herself. she shouldnt be so at ease in such a dangerous place, but she tries to talk to every omen she sees, only to perform that same lavender incantation each time shes attacked. against all odds, the omens lay down their weapons in sleep - and a peaceful sleep at that. the girl wishes each and every one sweet dreams before she resumes her stroll.
morgott has ample time to observe her strangeness before confronting her, not with violence but with a stern warning and a demand to know her identity. the girl seems awestruck by his intact horns, and his willingness to talk brings a brilliant smile - the kind rarely seen in the sewers - to her face. she introduces herself as trina, and she heard that there were people living down here. she just wanted to meet them, and see if she could help them. and so far, its seemed like everyone could use a good nights sleep.
theres no mention of miquella, nor his desire to learn his mothers secrets hidden away from the erdtrees radiance. his schemes are still percolating, and trina is only meant to gather information. but that wont stop her from talking to the omens, rats, and even the frenzied merchants hiding away in the depths. theres room in her heart for everyone, especially the royal omen twins who she unquestioningly accepts as her brothers. let them think that she is just another child of marika, an individual separate from miquella. in the sewer - in the muck and grime - she can be an individual, loved for *herself* and not for miquellas charms. she can love her brothers as they are, not for what miquella can take from them.
someday, trina will vanish like godfrey did, leaving the frenzied merchants with her song. mohg is caught off-guard by miquella, believing for a moment that he is the sister he loved so dearly. her influence made it all the easier for miquella to steal his heart. morgott does not know trinas nature, and doesnt realize the hand she had in miquellas treachery. she is just another person to abandon him, and perhaps the golden order as well.
and someday trina will return to the muck and grime, her love cast away by her other half. she will be at home there, among the putresence, as long as it takes for miquellas scheme to be thwarted.

People have been making this observation for a while, but I both love and despair at the DLC solidifying the Morgott and Mohg parallel involving their relationship with love. It’s official, both brothers suffered in a duty borne of love for a person/thing that did not love them in return. Both of them lost their lives for it in futility.
I’m genuinely really happy the game tells you explicitly that Mohg has been desecrated and robbed of dignity. I think… a lot of people would still claim he was deserving of his fate if the story didn’t spell it out.
Okay, derailing my own post, but now I see it’s incredibly significant that Consort Radahn barely has any hint of Mohg in his design and moveset. He was just a tool and a token for Miquella’s ascension. Miquella betrayed a hornsent man and erased him utterly from the importance of his Godhood. Mohg was vital and necessary for the entire ritual and he would get the least credit. Just something to be used and forgotten like Marika made the shadowlands. The end.

*Godrick IS a bit odd one out because we can't be sure what type of relation he even has with Godefroy, and for other Demigods he is possibly generations below! He still counts as part of the family though and I think with most ideas he'd still be more on a brother level than not

sorry if this was asked before/you already discussed it, but I am curious how do you headcanon birth order of Carian siblings (i.e. who is the youngest/oldest/middle child)
Ranni is actually directly stated in the game to be the youngest of the three! In Rogier’s original Japanese dialogue, the word he uses for “sister” in the phrase “sister to General Radahn and Praetor Rykard” is specifically the word for “younger sister,” and unfortunately this nuance is lost in the English translation.
As for Radahn and Rykard, it’s never directly stated who is older, and as far as I’m concerned, it’s possible for either of them to be the oldest. However, after playing the DLC, I really got the impression that Radahn was the oldest of the three from all the new pieces of information about him?
First of all, we know that Messmer was an elder brother figure to him. From Commander Gaius’s remembrance, “Both were as elder brothers to the lion.”
and we also know that Miquella and Malenia looked up to him:
“In their childhood, Miquella saw in Radahn a lord. His strength, and his kindness, that stood in stark contrast with their afflicted selves.”
The DLC is littered with mentions of Radahn in relation to his half-siblings, but Rykard and Ranni (who we know is the youngest) never get a mention (unless Radahn was only singled out to preview his appearance at the end of the DLC. lol. honestly likely). This gives the impression that Rykard was less relevant to the goings on of the wider family… if that’s true, then Rykard is either antisocial, avoiding his half-siblings and only liking his full siblings (which I kind of doubt, because his similarities to Messmer seem pretty intentional and I’d be shocked if he never interacted with him), or Rykard and Ranni were like, too young to hang out with the cool older kids and also not old enough that their younger half-siblings would look up to them as much (not that Rykard was probably ever a good role model… lmao).
I also feel like Rykard seemingly not having been close to Messmer, and yet having basically copied his entire aesthetic, might point to the one-sided admiration of a stepbrother too young to really have bonded with him? and also, knowing Miquella and Malenia looked up to Radahn as a strong older brother, this might contextualize Rykard’s painting of Radahn above his fireplace in the same sense?
Tumblr media
In general, all the references seem to give an impression of Radahn being like, the premiere son of Radagon. I think it’s also worth mentioning that every time the three siblings are mentioned together (by Morgott, or by Rogier for example), Radahn is always mentioned first.
Nothing I’ve said here actually definitively proves anything! Radahn could definitely still be younger than Rykard. I just came out of the DLC with a huge vibe that he was the oldest of the three! and I’ve always thought middle child Rykard was fitting for him lol.
I also asked my younger sister her opinion, and she said, “younger siblings have a penchant for torture.” so there you have it

MODEUS'S BETTER DLC PLOTLINE! (According to my own personal tastes.) Now I am going to order this from, Easiest/Simplest changes to make to the hardest/most complex changes to make.
Stage 1.
Replace Radahn being Miquella's consort with Godwyn. Yes, this makes Miquella, the Brother Lover, still canon. But Miquella has already tried so many ways to fully kill Godwyn in the base game that it comes across as a fixation, it would make sense that if he were in the land where all death resides, and decide, "Well, if killing him fully won't work. What about bringing him back? The only way to do it seems to be taking my own brother as my consort...but I wouldn't mind Godwyn as my consort. He was super nice and really strong." That keeps Miquella's established character motivation from the base game, but also extends it as the DLC did. Why would Freya be there? Make Radahn's body part of the ritual to bring back Godwyn the same as Mogh's was. Easy. I can fully believe that you would need two demigods to bring back someone's soul from the dead.
Yes this does mean a completely new bossfight. Don't care. The final boss of a damned 40$ dlc should not be a remixed or a recycled boss. Tough titties, Fromsoftware.
Stage 2.
Radahn's soul could have still played a factor in the story. Maybe he carried the mental scars from what the scarlet rot made him do into the afterlife, causing him to be nearly broken in spirit. Now he simply sits with his back against a massive tree/rock, in a small area cut off from the rest of the Lands of Shadow, depressed and mourning how he idolized Godfrey when this place and the eternal genocide occuring in it were part of his legacy.
Bonus points if you wanna get spicy with it. Have Malenia also be there if you killed her in the base game, now feeling abandoned by the twin she dedicated herself towards. She sits on the opposite side of the tree/stone to Radahn, in a similar sitting pose as him, as they talk about mundane things like the weather. Basically being two proud warriors who don't know how to apologize to eachother for their fight, both feeling guilty now that they know it was for such horrid or petty reasons.
Stage 3.
Almost all of the Demigods should have been NPC's you could interact with in the DLC. Morgott sitting at the top of the Suppresion Pillar trying to reconcile his faith in the Erdtree with the fact that in this culture he would have been practically worshipped for the traits he and his twin were shunned for. Placidusax lounging next to the Grand Altar of the Grand Altar of Dragon Communion, having forgiven you now that their body has been fully restored in death. Rykard back in human form with a suspiciously large serpent pet, enjoying the tranquility of the Cerulean coast. While obviously scheming to feed his serpent all the corpses inside of the massive Stone Coffins, but not knowing anyway to break them open.
Basically gimme a story that felt like it took two years to write. Cause while the gameplay, level design, and atmosphere are 11/10's. The story of this dlc in regards to Miquella, is TERRIBLE.

bonus malenia + morgott thoughts but i just found it cool to think on how that out of the demigods they're probably the only 2 who don't really have like self-centered motivations concerning what they're doing.
like godrick is just a power-hungry asshole who tries grafting in an attempt to make himself stronger because he knows he's the weakest of the bunch and this is apparently his best idea to get stronger.
rykard is ALSO a power-hungry asshole(affectionate <3) but he takes it like 10 times further and goes yeah i want more power so im going to feed myself to the "god-devouring serpent" I'm sure that'll work out fine with zero consequences whatsoever.
radahn is interesting because i don't really know if he cares for power or not??? (pls share your thoughts!!!) but his main motivations do lie primarily with his horse and as frejya puts it in the DLC, war suited radahn best so I'm assuming my guy just wanted to wage war forever so.
ranni is the funniest because she straight up tells us that she did EVERYTHING in an attempt to be free of the 2 fingers and whatever bullshit destiny they were enforcing on her which is valid (and also she succeeds in her goal without going batshit insane so good for her yk).
mohg is tricky because after the dlc I'm not quite certain how much we know about mohg is true to what he was like before he was bewitched but I think that mohg did indeed crave power and that he was willing to do whatever it took to attain that power which in this case is MAYBE becoming an empyrean's consort??? (again this is a bit muddy so bear with me pls) even if that isn't true I still think his primary motivation is to get power so.
and of course miquella, despite his altruistic ambitions of helping everyone and making the world a kinder place; still has the rather self-centered notion of like "oh I have to be the one to become a god and I have to become a god because I'm the only one who can fix things!!!" bottom line: good intentions perhaps, still just wants to become a god.
morgott and malenia are interesting because they don't technically have ambitions of their own they sort of act on behalf of someone else in a sense.
in the game everything morgott does he does for the sake of the golden order. despite the fact that he's an omen he loves the golden order and protects the erdtree and he's so devoted to it wholeheartedly that he sees his other siblings as 'traitors' for betraying the order despite the fact that it's the fucking worst.
anyways in this case, morgott acts on behalf of the golden order.
malenia's just a slam dunk for this because her title is literally malenia blade of miquella and I'm sure anyone who's fought her has heard that like at least 200 times; she's wholeheartedly devoted to her brother, would do anything for him and his cause and fucking nuked an entire continent because he asked her to fight radahn.
and in this case malenia acts on behalf of miquella.
both of them don't really have "selfish" motivations in a sense; morgott doesn't love the golden order because he hopes it'll give him something back and malenia simply does everything for miquella because he's her brother and she loves him more than anything in the world.
bless these cursed children i love all my war criminals but I'm afraid that these two are my favorites.
also side note: bear in mind the reason some of the demigods might be batshit insane might be because of the corrupting power of their great rune (or yk in mohg's case because of miquella) so who knows what their actual motivations were and how those motivations were corrupted yk.

Ya' know, does Radahn ever comfort Mohg after having a nightmare? 😗
he does of course despite Mohg always act like it is not important and he can handle everything himselfs and everything is just fine hes doing fire. I always see Mohg as someone who always fix everyone else but never himself - because he cant have problems he must always be at the best shape and best state of mind - it can be because hes the leader of cult and cant show weakness + he has PRETTY UNSTABLE brother with almost a clinical depression ( it doesnt mean Morgott cant get his shit together on his own but as king he really needs someone who will shake him because being king is way harder for him than a fell omen kickin tarnisheds). With all that Mohg doesnt really like to bother Morgott thinking "well he has a lot on his own thats enough for him i can handle all on my own"
And while Mohg has a lot of going on especially after DLC hes still trying to be cool but Radahn is quite sensetive (not sure its right word) so he can see that something IS wrong and he insist on sharing. Not forcing but rather make sure mohg knows he`s here. And at some point it will work - and Mohg will finally have someone he can count on when its about share weight from his soul.
But whats fun i also think Radahn has nightmares too - when someone messes up your soul after curse you with a rot it has some impact on your mental state. So sometimes they both find each other outside at night. And i can see them just....gazing at night quietly. Enjoying the calmness of the moment together
