Inktober 12/2024 “Wish”

I reeeeally struggle with this prompt until I remembered another story (that has an au within it) I made. I always get unreasonably upset seeing aus where dark shadow simply doesn’t exist even when tokoyami is the focus. Taking dark shadow out of Tokoyami’s existence would completely change his upbringing and likewise his character, he wouldn’t even be tokoyami without knowing dark shadow. (You can compare it to bakugo being taken out of Midoriya’s story, but even worse). So this is sort of a vent story where I make tokoyami suffer and also see how his personality would differ.

Tw for suicidal ideation and other bad shit. This is not a nice story. It is slightly self indulgent and vent too so maybe my feeling are skewed about what is most likely to happen idk

This story is based off that episode in adventure time with prismo and the farm world. Our story starts with a girl (13yrs old) who has the power to grant wishes, reality bending wishes. Her quirk is so powerful a lot of people want to get their hands on her but she always manages to get away by making their wishes backfire on them. She is wanted by the hero’s to “keep her safe” so when Tsukuyomi (16-19yrs old) finds her and somehow manages to catch her gaseous form she offers him a wish for her freedom. There are the usual rules about wishing that you cannot kill, ask for love, excetra. She is based on a djinn or genie so the wisher gets 3 wishes (I guess she’s kinda based off Alluka from hunterxhunter). Tokoyami is smart enough to know that’s a bad idea, nor does he even have anything he wants to wish for. Dark shadow on the other hand…is more easily swayed. Their wish is such:

“I wish I never existed, and fumikage had a normal quirk that was easy to control.”

…

Yeash, self esteem issues much.

When shadow makes their wish they are sent to a sort of limbo or liminal space that is a large white void. The girl also joins them there and together they watch Dark Shadows alternate reality play out.

It becomes increasingly obvious that dark shadow’s intention to create a better life for fumikage is not working out the way they wanted. They thought he would have more friends without a scary shadow demon for a quirk but instead tokoyami is more reclusive and timid than ever. Tokoyami was always bullied for his interest in the darkness and when they were little dark shadow learned to defend him from those bullies. Without dark shadow he simply does not fight back because he wants to avoid getting in trouble. Which leads to the bullying getting worse and still being treated like a freak. For what little friends tokoyami had made, they were usually the result of dark shadows more outgoing personality. So they arnt around either. The obvious issue is without dark shadow tokoyami is alone and suffering.

Otherwise Tokoyami’s home life isn’t much better. His mother is too overbearing and putting stress on him to be perfect. He doesn’t have ds to help mitigate that stress through venting, reassurance, or even trying to tell her off. Even when dark shadow was sure his relationship with his father would be better, tokoyami has pulled away from him and become bitter since he won’t help with the struggles against his mother.

Eventually in middle school the bullying escalates to extreme assault that leave tokoyami in the hospital a few times. No one does anything to help, he is (once again) in this alone. Tokoyami eventually snaps, but instead of becoming violent…he tries to end his own life.

He survives but is put under suicide watch. Everyone finally seems to notice the decline of his mental state so he drops out of school and moves in with his aunt. She is the one who inherited Tokoyami’s grandfather’s homestead. So now he lives in the country more isolated than ever, at least his aunt seems to care for him well. He can’t help but wish there had been more to his life though…

This is about caught up to Tokoyami’s current age. so now dark shadow has been shown the error of their judgement. To top it all off the djinn girl shows how even though dark shadow was never able to directly hurt anyone in this timeline there were people who they never saved as well. From all the way back to shadow protecting other kids from bullies to people they saved in their hero career, more people ended up hurt by their absence. They are a blessing to this world, and don’t you forget it.

Dark Shadow tries to revoke their wish, which is perfectly successful in sending them back to their own timeline. They return to the exact moment they made their wish but unfortunately tokoyami still heard what they said and is very upset and panicked. They both end up crying a looooooot.

As for djinn girl she actually learned a lot about family who loves and supports you. She has a younger brother who has been searching for her but she had been avoiding him to keep him safe. Tokoyami lets her go and she goes home, the hero’s keep an eye on her from afar. They know they’re no match for her power.

But before she leaves Dark Shadow uses their third wish to get a sandwich :)

As for the fate of the alternate timeline, well…only time will tell ;) ;)

•your 1st ever companions were Mina and Denki the three of you matched each other's energy and chaoticness it was like 2 dumbasses and one less of a dumbass the 3 of you would get into the most shit like one time you convince Kirishima that he could be a hammer so you somehow got a big nail and test it out resulting in Kirishima knocked out and you 3 getting scolded by and yelled at by katsuki , making iida realizing he has to deal with an extra chaotic person now

• Next was Kirishima your victim I mean your friend you can count on Kirishima was quick to like you due to your lay loose and enthusiastic behavior making him want to be you at times two whenever the two of you trained together you were encouraged each other Kirishima especially and whenever he feels insecure you would encourage him and make sure he's a strong manly man he is! Yall two are just loveable idiots

•Shoto and you had a strange yet wholesome friendship at 1st. Shoto was uncomfortable and cold towards you, which you didn't mind, and you respected his boundaries, but it all clicked when he saw you eating soba. "You like soba?" You turned to face the expressionless boy with a bright smile. "Of course! I even like it with sesame oil, grilled chicken, and a yummy fried egg! Want some?" You reached into the fridge and handed him an extra soba pack and that's how your friendship began even without the soba he thinks ur a pretty interesting person to talk to even with your bizarre talks

"Omg bro you look like that penguin dude from sanrio!"

•next was Ochako she's a tiny bit scared of you at 1st worrying you might get her blood (cough cough flashbacks with toga) but you quickly reassured her that you wouldn't do it without permission which makes her feel a bit better after a bit of time and communicating with each other she starts to feel a bit comfortable with you like would invite you to her room for advice and stuff and the two if you would go out at night to watch the stars with some other students like tsuyu or maybe Tokoyami her most favorite activity is to tell space facts to you (I hc her as a space geek)

•Momo was always your go to whenever you need help with a test and she acts like she's annoyed with it but she genuinely enjoys your company you may the studying sessions fun and interesting for her whenever there's a big test that you forgot to study about all you had to do was go to her dorm and give her the puppy eyes and if she sighs you know that's a instant she then help you study mostly you just copying her notes and make SURE you get a Good grade if not she's gonna make you test the test again untill you get a good grade but outside of studying she spoils you with gifts and more to show off to your other classmates and invites you and the girls for a tea party which ends up quite chaotic

•Jirou was your music bestie you and her trade music Playlists like it's Halloween candy you like cutely but with disturbing music types of songs while jirou like cozy, calm, and peaceful genre but she admits your types of songs are amazing! But you sometimes scare her with your type of music one time she overheard your headphones blasting some sort of innocent cheery music talking about "we'll be together forever!" • Izuku isn't at all scared by you but rather is intrigued by your personality and quirk when you 1st introduced yourself he asked alot of questions about you, how your quirk operates, kind of quirk is it, do you drink animal blood-? He wants to know everything and you let him, you and him will chat each other's ears off about your favorite pro hero's and sometimes even go out to hunt for rare hero merch, you even helped izuku by participating in the black Friday event to get a all might themed ice cream maker that he has this day thanks to you if it wasn't for you punching that Karen, he cherished that ice cream maker to this day and even host ice cream parties here and there the two of you basically shared it

• But overall you were their chaotic sibing that are willing to protect, defend, and come to your aid even if it's your fault and out on the battle field you were a beast out there that one time when you, jirou, momo and denki, beat a bunch of villians you didn't know your arm was broken untill you pointed out momo and jirou freaked out while denki ran to get some aid but strangely you weren't bothered by it rather you were joking about it

With the Series Ending

I decided to do this solely based on canon, except for F which are so bad that they transcend the rule. I also put this in the lens of do I enjoy watching them, or do they infuriate me. Most of the ones in G are there because I can't tell who they are from the picture, or are so minor I don't get why they were on the list to begin with

Hawks was the hardest to place because as I've mentioned before I love villain fanon Hawks, and hate Canon for all the missed potential and the guy being shit.

Before the last arc, Deku would have been in C, and I felt most criticisms of him were undeserved. I still feel a lot of them are dumb, however, he's canonically a hypocritical, suck-up to labels, abuse apologist, idiot, etc. As much as it feels like character assassination it's canon, same with Shoji. I also just don't care to read fanfiction of him, and feel he takes a lot of roles where other characters would make more sense. If I'm not already following someone I'm not going to read fanfiction with him in it

Most of E I hate as much if not more than F but the fandom either doesn't write about, or treat them like the pieces of crap they are, looking at Mineta of course.

Fun fact Edgeshot is in E for bringing Bakugo back, and causing me both meta and dramatic issues for me. What the fuck was the point of killing Bakugo to immediately bring him back. How the fuck did Edgeshot know he could do this? How the fuck did he know how to do this? Why the fuck is he doing this for some random teenager he has never interacted with before, in the middle of a war? And now why the fuck does this fucker get to live, no one gave a single fuck about Edgeshot but he gets to live!

Uraraka owes her rank in B for her arc with Toga, otherwise, she would have been in D. For the plot forgoing her original motivations so they could turn her into a generic love interest. Toga tried talking crushes with her 'twice' everything else regarding that shit, which started before they ever met, is on her

I actually love Endeavor fanfics as most of them either a treat his abuse for what it is, or b I view them as an own on canon Endeavor and his incredible laziness and selfishness. But Twitter exists and they flock to him and his bullshit so to F with him.

Speaking of Fs, Bakugo is a whiney spoiled rotten brat with a silver spoon shoved into his mouth since birth. I hope he never breeds. Damn near every shit thing that has happened to him, was either brought on by himself, literally applied to everyone, he literally doesn't care, and even with the two exceptions I'd give this, the Sludge guy, and being chained up at the sports fest (he should have been disqualified), do not justify his shit

Congrats to Dark Shadow and Tokoyami for being the only hero (student) to make it past B

Needless to say I love villains, Dabi is by far my favourite, followed by Himiko, they are way more engaging and convincing than the heroes. And by convincing I mean it actually feels like they are going to put in effort to make their goals happen, not just wish really hard. I truly wish we could have seen how Shigaraki's goals shifted during his reign over the PLF. We had already seen how he wanted the League to be happy and an exception to his goal of destruction

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR TWISTED ZOO AND MHA

1- I think I'm going to stop tagging people for Twisted Zoo. 2. Will there be smut for Twisted Zoo? At first, I was thinking no, because I want non-smutty or underage people be able to read it, so I came to a compromise. I will post each ending as a SFW ending. Then, I will eventually post "After stories" which is basically NSFW for each ending. So yes, that means gangbangs.

(This way, you can end the story without any NSFW if you are not comfortable with it. And if you are into with it, you can be fed with my terrible content lol)

3. As for the MHA version coming out eventually... I decided not to make it a zoo, because I was running out of content for that with Twisted Zoo, which is why it is so short. I also wanted to add a little more plot with a lot more fluff and getting to know each other before turning yandere. This series will be much longer than Twisted Zoo.

The synopsis is basically: Reader has a terrible life, so she Narnia's it up and ends up in a world with mythical creatures that are either half-human or can shapeshift into a human. She befriends them and begins to use this mystical world as an escape from her real life. But as time goes on, the creatures there begin to not want her to leave...

I need help deciding what title to ultimately use for the series, I might make a poll. "Enchanted Obsession", "Escape into Insanity", "Mythical Obsession", or just "Enchanted" because you can both be enchanted by someone and the world is enchanted? Idk, ideas are welcome.

According to the poll: Most of you wanted me to include the girls in this! I used a mix of creatures you've probably heard of and some creatures that are a little less well-known.

I know I'm leaving out a lot of people, but 22 characters is more than enough for me to try to focus on. I will say right now that Dabi and Shoto are the same creature and Shinso is not a creature at all, just *magical*. I think most of the creatures fit them but some are a bit like "eh not really but okay"

Characters with wasted potential: takami kegio

Oh hawks and the debates I have seen circulating around his character. He could of been a well written and thoroughly interesting and complex character but we know where that went.

I have got my own problems with hawks in canon. This is gonna be more of a ramble than anything else so enjoy.

His interactions with characters. A lot of the interactions that hawks has with different characters could of been so complex and intriguing if done right sadly MHA fails at that. Hawks views Enji todoroki the number two hero as his saviour from his abusive father so obviously hawks is a huge Endeavour fan who puts him on a pedestal. So we expect him to face an internal conflict when he finds out that his own saviour is an abuser to his own family but NOPE WE GET NOTHING. Hawks is physically not allowed to change or think about this and stays as a static character. Hawks and lady nagant have a lot of parallels and I found it Hella confusing when I learnt that lady nagant WASN'T hawk's former mentor and if she was that would of added a lot more depth to them in the vigilante arc. Hawks and tokoyami, look I love their mentor and mentoee relationship and how hawks actively encourages tokoyami to do things also it's Hella implied that the two are close and end up doing silly things on internships which I think is really fun. However I think the bit in the vigilante arc when hawks isn't answering tokoyamis calls and tokoyami is worried about him was handled poorly. I also think tokoyamis reaction to hawks being a killer is handled poorly. Hawk's actions during the first war arc and him killing twice could of been complex to him if handled well but we are led to believe that he was in the right in killing twice when hawks had the power to easily knock out twice, transport him to a jail cell and destroy all the clones before anything bad happens considering that hawks is known for his fastness, strength and agility .

Wasted potential in introduced plot aspects about him. Hawks is introduced as the 3rd top hero and compared to those before him he is young. He has a very charismatic and two faced nature that he has sharpened and learnt to use with the training the HPSC gave him. Hawks is a spy assassin that is supposed to act as a charismatic hero celebrity. In a way after all mights retirement hawks and enji became the most popular faces in Japan. Hawks was bred for this position yet that isn't expanded on neither is it developed well on. Hawk's actions during MVA and the first war arc are complex as they're coming from both genuine truth and lie. Hawks feels trapped literally and metaphorically having to live a life that isn't his and entertain people, always being watched from a cage. That's the story he tells the league and some of it to tokoyami and this is the truth to him. Hawks also killed twice BECAUSE HE BELIEVED it was the only option he had when in fact IT WASNT THE ONLY OPTION and by hawks trying to escape the cage and differentiate himself from the HPSC he ends up following and obeying them all along.

Lack of agency. As a character hawks lacks agency to do things or act. There are things that hawks isn't allowed to do even though it fits his narrative clearly. Hawks isnt allowed to have any negative feelings towards enji todoroki and what he did, heck he isn't even allowed to INTROPSECT on such a thing. Hawks isn't allowed to fully be developed or have any source of introspection, it would of been great if we saw more of what hawks thought about what he did to twice and what toga is trying to do. Hawks also doesn't say much when it comes to the HPSC and how they treated him the closest thing we get to intropsection in that case is him telling lady nagant that he is an extremely optimistic guy.

These are my main problems with hawks, Iam aware that there may be more.

I actually enjoyed hawk's introduction in the manga which was chapter 185 during the changing of the hero popularity polls. Hawks was presented as this complex character who isn't what he seems from the beginning. The first few panels we see him and he is comedically exaggerating his actions aka zipping his mouth and not talking or being overall very expressive however, when he does start to talk he is shown to cleary express his views and has stated that he hates the general bs thay heroes sprout about them wanting to uphold the law more than enjoying the luxuries that hero work gives them. He then takes the mic and proceeds to 'spice things up' by calling out enji on how disliked he is by the civilians. He claims this is something he did to help enji when in fact it didn't help him at all. To me this first interaction already establishes him as a walking contradiction.

His relationship with tokoyami. Their relationship first started in a way for hawks to gain information about 1A and he definitely wasn't being sneaky about it considering that tokoyami could see right through him. Tokoyami at the time only wanted to learn from hawks and was heavily upset and confused as to why hawks taught him nothing and was only using him. However, as time passed by they actually started to form a proper mentor and student relationship which I really enjoyed. When hawks was asked why he chose tokoyami he said that they are from the same feather, basically insinuating that he felt like it was somewhat his duty since he and tokoyami are both bird mutants to a certain extent. As a mentor hawks taught his student to have fun and chill out as tokoyami is a very grounded person (literally and metaphorically). Hawks inspired tokoyami to fly and majority of tokoyamis moves are some stuff that he either learnt or was inspired from with hawks. There's also the fact that it's heavily implied that a lot of the time hawks and tokoyami did goof out a bit considering that tokoyami has 'scandalous pictures' of hawks. However, I wish we actually got more of this relationship especially after tokoyami finds out that hawks killed twice. In the manga when tokoyami finds out of such a thing he automatically protects hawks and thinks he is in the right. I disagree with that and I think it would of been better to have it so that tokoyami protects hawks from Dabi not because he is a hero who done no wrong but because he is his mentor who he deeply cares for. I would also have it so that tokoyami starts to question who hawks really is?, is he a good person?, did tokoyami do the right thing helping hawks? Etc etc. in the vigilante arc, it's stated that tokoyami tried to contact hawks multiple times to no avail however this isn't expanded on. I would have it so that hawks is avoiding tokoyami on purpose because he is ashamed and scared of what his student will think of him. At the end they have a conversation and talk it out with tokoyami understanding that what hawks did was wrong but he deeply cares for him whereas hawks understands just how valuable his relationship with tokoyami really is. In the end, I ended up liking what happend with hawks and tokoyami both protecting eachother in the final arc and growing stronger as a mentor and student. Hawks learns to protect the youth and break the cycle that he was trapped in while learning what a hero means to others from tokoyamis perspective.

Hawks and twice . Hawks managed to build a good relationship with twice as the dumb and overly optimistic MVA member. Twice had potential to be saved but hawks ended up killing him. I have reread this part of the manga and I have my mixed opinions on this however, there are two ways I would change this 1) have hawks kill toga instead and have twice and toga switch places as it makes way more sense or 2) have hawks try to quickly take down twice by knocking him out and trying to transport him somewhere get before he can achieve that Dabi comes in and intervenes finally making hawks too slow to do anything and having him end up killing twice. Option 2 is what happend in the manga with hawks being too slow (ironic considering that hawks is praised on speed) to truly save twice and ends up taking his life so twice doesn't escape and doom them all. The problem is that hawks starts on the offensive (something I like), hawks thinks that killing twice is the only way to avoid everything or at least massively injuring him would stop it. Sadly, hawks could of easily convinced twice to back down considering how easily swayed twice is and that he only did the things he did because he thought there was no way out or wanted to help his friends. Before their fight begins however, hawks talks about not being swayed by nice words and connections he built with twice which makes me think that he didn't want to kill him but due to his mindset and pov he ended up killing him because HE THOUGHT IT WAS THE ONLY OPTION HE HAD (It wasn't)

His involvement in the MVA. Hawks first starts as a double spy for the HPSC. Through the MVA arc we see him do questionable things in the name of other people safety however, we see his actions backfire badly. Hawks tries to quickly and swiftly gain the leagues trust yet he isn't fast enough, he tries to quickly inform the heroes and the HPSC of how dangerous and out of hand this situation yet he fails and many things are caused by him (the fastest hero alive) not being quick enough to do anything. He 'kills' beat jeanist in the name of gaining the trust of the MVA yet that does nothing to get him up the system and just makes it that best jeanists help is out of the table for the majority of the arc. Hawks joining the MVA was useful for the league as they were going to parade him around so people can join him yet I still wonder how the mainstream media didnt catch a whiff of what hawks was up to or how he simply abandoned hero society (even though he was a double spy). Hawks also talks to the league why he joined the MVA and uses his own story (somewhat of the truth of his life) how he feels like a bird trapped in a cage one that can't fly freely this can be interpreted in many ways. 1) he doesn't have the right to freely use his quirk to any extent he wants which is something that MVA stands for or 2) he feels trapped by his own life choices, him becoming a hero especially the number 2 and has a lot of eyes on him watching him like a circus animal with every move he makes so he puts on an act and never drops the mask.

Hawks and toga himiko . Toga himiko should of either been killed by hawks in place of twice which would of made him get more backlash by the public and make tokoyami question him even more considering that hawks somewhat mercilessly killed a 16 year old (the same age as tokoyami) in cold blood for justice so he could also do it to him. Or we should of gotten a hawks Vs toga battle in the final arc instead of a afo Vs hawks one. It would of made way more sense. Considering that hawks killed twice who is very dear to toga she should of had her eyes set on hawks death the minute she chose to join the lov and the final war. We should of gotten an intense and emotional battle between them were hawks has to come to terms that he didn't need to kill twice but he thought that it was the only option he had and he watches as toga uses twices quirk knowing that twices death was meaningless as toga is using his quirk in the way he feared it would be used. Hawks would be almost killed until ochako intervenes and has her battle with toga while hawks goes and fights alongside tokoyami.

Hawk's views on lady nagant. Lady nagant should of been hawk's mentor and he should of been her replacement. In canon hawks is only her replacement and I think it would of added more nuance and overall better writing if she was his mentor. I absolutely loved the parallels that those two shared and how they came out on different side of things however, I do think that we should of seen more of hawks getting the backhand treatment from the public considering that him killing twice was on live television. Honestly it surprised me that hawks killing twice isn't what the public was most upset with him about but they were upset with him having an abusive and villain father which honestly says a lot. I also think that they should of had more screentime to talk, hawks helped save lady nagant and she ended up asking him how he still has hope while he says that he is "optimistic". Iam not a huge fan of this moment and I think it could of been written better. Hawks and lady nagant are two sides of the same coin but dam did I hate hawks holding her burnt body and telling her that he was her replacement, it could of been handled better with hawks and her actually having somewhat of a fight and then some of the conversation happening after the explosion.

Hawks and the todoroki family . Oh boy I can feel that this is gonna be a long one. I found it interesting that hawks actually looked up and admired endeavour and I loved the parallels it gave both hawks and Dabi. However, I hated that hawks wasn't allowed to think or have any intropsection after hearing about what enji did or that he didn't go through a bit of a crisis over it. The fact that hawk's character has simply been reduced to enji Todorokis biggest supporter is my biggest problem with hawks. Dabi and hawks were very interesting to me (no I don't ship them) they're simply two sides of the same coin especially in the ways they act. Dabi is consistent on revenge whereas hawks is the opposite, Dabi hates enji whereas hawks admires enji and so on and so on. I do think that it would of been way more interesting if touya and kegio had actual history behind everything going on so I have always liked the HC that they met in the HPSC training scheme and became friends. It's plausible and makes Dabi saying hawk's real name way more meaningful than Dabi finding it out by threatening hawk's mother. I also think that both of them sharing a form of history yet not trusting eachother is hella interesting. Dabi was probably one of the only characters (aside from Izuku and tokoyami) that could see through some of hawks actions. Dabi knew what hawks will do yet never tried to intervene until it benefited him of course in true icon fashion that is. I also find hawk's relationship with the youngest todoroki interesting but I think it was done horribly. I would of liked to see more scenes with hawks and shoto talking about enji and touya or just scene of them that draw the similarities they have.

I would also have hawks be semi involved in the whole mutant racism plot because we need that to be fleshed out. Does hawks help donate to charities that help mutants? Is he against such people? Or doe hawks himself face such discrimination? To be honest I doubt it considering that his mutation is on the "prettier side" of the mutations and wouldn't face discrimination like shoji did

Hawks also had potential to interact with other characters like todoroki which would of highlighted his thoughts and development on the families matter. There is also Izuku midoriya who in a way is in somewhat of a similar circumstance to hawks and they could of had that whole is there another way to save villains like twice and shigaraki without killing them or is death the only way or just general conversation between the two considering that tokoyami was stated to praise izuku so much that hawks considered taking him as an intern. In one of the side comics you also had Izuku be somewhat suspicious of hawks and his abilities and it's also somewhat hinted in the main manga so it's interesting to have them have a conversation about that.

I personally think that hawks should of received concequences for his actions and one of them being hindered quirk use aka his wings don't grow back properly or everytime he uses them he can't use them to their fullest potential due to how injured he was by Dabis fire. Also, I hate how hawks being used by the commission is almost brought as a second thought, like when the HPSC fell we really didn't get much of hawk's personal reaction or thoughts or anything on the matter it seems like a quite empty point even though it had its potential to Futher develop hawks

In conclusion, hawks character introduction was pretty solid and I really liked some of the aspects that the series gave him like making him a walking contradiction to a certain extent but I do think that horikoshi development of hawks character was horrible and the fact that hawks lacks agency to do many things or reflect on things irritates me very much.

What type of fanfics/reader x character fics do you dislike? I dislike the ones where reader cries for anything and everything like that AIN'T me tf 😤 or they're weak af and let said character abuse tf outta them and they take it ughh enrages me👹 However I do also like reader x character with character being dominant, possessive and jealous(especially when it comes to bedroom activities)

This is just my personal opinion, if you don't agree, block me.

Mischaracterization- I really hate when people give the character a whole new personality, and I'm not saying this too offend anyone because some characters, like Osamu Dazai from BSD, are really hard too pin point, but when you take people like Dabi from MHA and make him this shallow character of "Oh he just hates his dad and that's his whole personality." It pisses me off because Dabi has quite a lot of character development and depth to him. Yes, hating his dad is a big thing in his character because that's literally the reason he's still alive but Dabi also has grown too care for people like Toga and literally, in his own way, make her feel accepted. Or when people write Dazai as a suicidal maniac who's just there for shits and giggles when in actuality he's way more complex then some people give him credit for.

Weird Ships- I see nothing wrong with people shipping two characters, that's inevitable, but when you take two characters, especially when one is a canon minor and you make them romantic and or sexual, it's weird, like this one fic that I stumbled onto months ago about Hawks and Tokoyami... that's fucking weird, or when people make fics of Sukuna x Yuji and Sukuna is like 1,000+, it's weird. Or again, when people make Gojo x Megumi fics... that's pedophilic and disgusting. Or when people make incest shit, that's also weird, and it's weird when it's actual family, if you wanna write step-brother character whatever I don't see a big deal with that, but when people write Endeavor x Fuyumi shit it's actually disturbing.

OCs- If you wanna write your OC and a character that's fine, there's nothing wrong with that, but when you write insert readers and it's literally just your OC, it pisses me off. If you were too write a reader with a specific quirk or something, maybe a request for a certain thing they have like a mental disorder, that's fine, but when you write that the insert has blonde hair, blue eyes and white skin, that's no longer an insert. It's an OC- or when the reader is given a name... it kinda defeats the whole purpose of an insert.

Look, I don’t wanna get everyone’s hopes up, but I might have to get everyone’s hopes up

My initial thoughts on chapter 395 were to be enveloped in the tragedy of this ending. I could already tell some of the criticisms that would come at it, but I was also interested in thoroughly considering the chapter as fairly as possible. Whether or not it involves stale tropes, such tropes still have the potential to bring meaning and emotion--and to be honest, MHA has been pretty good at that since the get-go. The manga is pretty much defined by refreshing and playing with stale shounen tropes. I am willing to give this chapter as-is a chance. I comforted friends who were hit hard by the chapter. I allowed myself to feel the sorrow ushered in by Himiko Toga’s chosen end.

But then I started translating the chapter, and my melancholy didn’t last fucking long.

Because...I’m gonna be real with you, there are a LOT of questions this chapter raises, but only if you’re paying attention.

So like.

Look.

I don’t wanna get your hopes up.

Himiko Toga may really be dead.

I don’t actually know how this will all play out.

But...

LET ME TELL YOU WHY THIS IS SUS AS HELL

1. Hello???

Why is the All Might doll coming into play here, now?

And uh, where did it go????

I don’t see it anywhere! Is it...still in the same hand Himiko was holding it with?

Is THAT why we’re zooming in here on the final panel?

“Why does it matter?” you may ask. “Isn’t it just a symbol of the connection between these two girls once Himiko found where Ochako was hiding it and teased her about it? Isn’t this perhaps just Himiko’s way of comforting Ochako?”

“Hm, yes, interesting,” I would reply. “But DON’T YOU WHO THE FUCK I AM?”

This is the second time All Might merchandise is appearing in a supposed death scene! Is it mere coincidence? I THINK NOT.

I mean, we haven’t had a SINGLE update on Katsuki for a year now. (UNLESS WE JUST GOT ONE?) Could it be Horikoshi was holding off on any Katsuki updates to avoid spoiling something else that needed to happen first? Specifically Ochako vs Toga?

Because if there’s ANYTHING fishy going on with that card and that doll (and boy do I smell fish), Katsuki’s storyline would not be able to progress until AFTER the doll also came into play. AND NOW IT HAS.

2. Of course my first thought was Katsuki Bakugou, don’t tell me you’re actually surprised...

There are a LOT of weird parallels between Ochako and Himiko’s fight and...whatever the hell is going on with Izuku and Katsuki just in general. But I mean, just look at Katsuki. Compare that wound to Ochako’s. Compare Ochako’s imminent death to Katsuki.

And...compare Himiko Toga to Katsuki Bakugou however many ways you like.

But most importantly...compare Himiko Toga to Izuku Midoriya.

Because Ochako was on the verge of death, and Himiko Toga sacrifices herself to save Ochako. Yeah, you can compare that to Katsuki in chapter 362. But like, Katsuki is the one on the verge of death now, right? That would make him parallel to Ochako (especially since they’re the ones with the All Might merch). That would mean Izuku could do something similar to save Katsuki.

And please, please note how Himiko performed this rescue. She became Ochako. She became compatible with Ochako, started pumping Ochako’s same blood through her own veins, hooked them up so not only was Himiko supporting Ochako’s life, THEY WERE CONNECTED AS ONE PERSON.

Are YOU getting Heroes Rising vibes? Because I’m definitely getting Heroes Rising vibes.

3. Remember, Horikoshi said this ending would be better than Heroes Rising.

Izuku and Katsuki shared OFA in the ending of Heroes Rising.

Let us not forget the ever-present nomenclature of One For All and All For One.

What could be better than a team-up of two people?

Maybe...a merging of everyone?

4. Everyone is down

Himiko and Ochako and Katsuki aren’t the only ones down. Basically EVERYONE is.

Shouto, Endeavor, Touya, Hawks, Tokoyami, Spinner, most everyone at the UA battlefield, most everyone at the Gunga battlefield, basically most everyone who isn’t AFO, All Might, Izuku, and Tomura (and maybe a few UA kids).

Actually, speaking of UA kids, why haven’t we seen Aoyama and Sero and the others yet? Could it be that Horikoshi just wanted to showcase the most important part of their fights, aka the ending?

The ending where they all fall over and pass out or die too?

Why is everyone fucking dead?

Because something big is going to happen to them all after they pass out???

I mean, maybe???

Even if that’s the case, I have no idea how many people will actually be part of this union or revival or whatever the fuck happens. I just...I do notice that heroes and villains both are dropping like flies.

WHAT IS THIS LEADING TO?

5. The story of how we all became the greatest heroes

So once upon a time I wrote a tiny meta about the infamous line from the first chapter, “This is the story of how I became the greatest hero.”

Basically, it occurred to me that it’s very strange for the narrator to “spoil the ending” of the story in the first chapter. Where’s the dramatic tension? Why even do that?

Well, the obvious answer is: it wasn’t a spoiler. Perhaps it meant something else than what it seemed at first glance.

I realized “hero” in Japanese could be both singular and plural. Thus, I conceived that the true message was: “This is the story of how I became ONE OF the greatest heroes.“

Chapter 324 basically confirmed that theory.

But...what if it’s still wrong?

What if there’s ANOTHER hidden message in the line?

What if it’s something like: “This is the story of how I became a part of the greatest hero.” Singular. Purposefully.

What if EVERYONE becomes the greatest HERO literally. What if...everyone merges to create...All Might?

And then I saw all the vestiges rebelling inside AFO and thought:

Oh god this actually seems plausible now.

So here’s the good news for Himiko...

There was, in fact, a chapter titled “The Story of How We All Became Heroes, Part Minus 1.”

Maybe everyone becomes heroes together. Maybe they all literally become one hero together. Either way, Himiko was highlighted in a chapter with a title that specifically implied she would be part of whatever the fuck happens.

Sure, this chapter COULD BE Himiko’s heroic moment. But...I don’t know man. We got SO MANY CHAPTERS with this title. It’s SCREAMING some sort of plot twist is on the way...!

6. Ochako is ALSO supposed to be part of this “greatest hero” business too!

Finally, can we just...remember how Ochako was inspired to save people? She held Sir Nighteye in her arms as he died, and that’s when she knew she wanted to save people.

Himiko dying here on Ochako’s watch...idk mannnnn, has Ochako really proven that she’s achieved her goal yet? Can she really be part of the greatest heroes like this?

Sure, he had been rehabilitated and was now watched by his father as a way to show society that no, he wasn’t a villain anymore. And sure, he had had a kid with you, Endeavor’s favorite trainee. But he just… couldn’t take care of a baby alone after all these years !

(S/N) had been a surprise for the both of you. And at first, Dabi wanted to get rid of it. But he realized… he could give this kid what he would have wanted. He could break the cycle. So he decided, after all, he needed another proof of his rehabilitation and he had secretly been wishing for a loving family.

But (S/N) was crying right now. He had been okay playing with his little cubes for a while, and liking whatever Dabi was watching on TV. But right now, it wasn’t time to eat but the baby was crying. « I… I don’t know what you want, I’m sorry ! » the man said, picking him up.

After some minutes, Dabi’s pleas turned more into threats. « Listen little shit, I have to prove to your mom/dad that I’m responsible enough to take care of you and I wanna be a good dad, but you’re not helping ! » Unsurprisingly, it didn’t help.

That’s when the man remembered this movie Toga and Twice would cry watching it, the father would sing a lullaby to his kid. It was the only thing that Dabi actually remembered from the movie, cause he had secretly been listening to the song a few times after, wishing his father would have been this loving.

He decided to give it a go. « The monster’s gone, he’s on the run. And your daddy’s here. » he started singing in a faint and low voice, while bouncing (S/N) slowly. The little copy of him started calming a bit. « Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful… » he continued, kissing his forehead. « Beautiful boy. »

After repeating the same chorus over and over for quite some time, the toddler fell asleep. Dabi looked at him, smiling to himself. He was a rather good dad ! He could take care of his baby ! His baby that looked just like him before his own dad abandoned him ! He put him to his crib, finishing his show while waiting for you to come back.

Eijiro Kirishima

Kirishima was always sad when he had to do some hero work, leaving his little (S/N) behind, even with you. But this time, it had been decided that you would be the one going to work and him taking care of the baby. And he was so excited about it.

« Hey, I always take care of you with mommy/daddy. Me alone won’t change much, right ? » The baby stared at him, his eyes wide opened… and immediately started crying. The man picked him up, already harassing him with kisses and hugs.

« I know, it’s the first time they’re going away without youuuuu ! I miss them too every time they’re not here. » he said, hushing the baby. But it didn’t last long. He tried everything ; giving him food, checking his diaper, putting him in his crib… but nothing worked.

« … We’re so alike. (Y/N) always says we’re so alike physically and mentally and I would laugh it off but they’re right. I feel like that too, when they’re not here with me. » he said, dramatically. « But it’s not manly to make them feel bad about it, right ? »

And then he realized ; he had caught you singing rather quietly to (S/N), to make him fall asleep. He knew you thought he didn’t know, but he would just never admit he had heard you. Maybe a little lullaby would help ? So he picked his son up, hugging him close and tight.

« My baby, my baby… » he started, trying to sound as good as possible -he was a horrible singer. And even though he thought that his horrible singing would just make his baby yell louder, it actually seemed to catch his attention immediately.

« You’re my baby, say it to me. » the rest of the song wasn’t that cute, but Kirishima guessed it was the calming melody that his son liked. You never really sung the whole song anyways, your son falling asleep quite fast after the first notes -which happened with him too. He smiled, putting him in his crib, spamming his friends with pictures of him after that.

Fumikage Tokoyami

Tokoyami was really insecure about taking care of your daughter alone. Sure, he had been a good dad with you around as well, but all alone ?! « You’re never really alone anyways, Dark Shadow’s here, right ? » you had told him, which only made him reply : « You trust Dark Shadow with a baby ?! »

But here he was, reading a book next to his toddler who was asleep. He would caress her hair from time to time when she seemed to hum or move in her sleep -like you would often do- but nothing really out of the extraordinary was happening. That made him confident.

Talked too fast, right ? Yeah. (D/N) woke up, silently looking at her dad. He smiled at her, patting her head, waiting for her to do something that would scare him. He didn’t have to wait for long, since as soon as she realized you weren’t there, she started whining.

Tokoyami immediately picked her up, hugging her. « I knoooow, I miss mom/dad too. Come here. » he said, humming a bit to her in hope it would calm her down. While changing how he carried her as the position felt uncomfortable after quite some time, he briefly made her touch his beak.

That’s when he realized, she had stopped crying. « Oh ? Is it my beak ? You liked it ? » he said, holding her in front of his face. (D/N) stared at him for quite some time before being attracted by his beak. Slowly, she touched it and smiled. Hearing her father chuckle, she actually started laughing as well.

« Yeah ! You like dad’s beak ! » he said, Dark Shadow peaking out in the process. « Hey ! (D/N) baby ! I wanted to see how you were doing with her… and I… also… missed her…. » he confessed. Tokoyami only nodded, trying to find what to do with a baby this young.

And that’s how you came back home to two sleeping figures, on top of each other. Tokoyami was holding a random baby book and you wondered if (D/N) had really been interested in her dad’s reading. Still, they had seem to have had a good day, so you were relieved that your husband had gone past his fear.

Because think about it, nobody ever acknowledges Izuku unless he does something that benefits THEM! And fuck whatever he needs or wants!

Now I like the idea of Izuku having friends, I like the idea of Izuku having ride or dies (such as Shoto.)

However, canon has left all of Izuku's friendships with the 'DekuSquad' and Class 1A as a whole to rot or actively does it a disservice in the name of 'comedy', for Bakugou's benefit or because Hori gives no care to them.

Class 1A, we know, never stand up for Izuku against Bakugou, so Hori's golden boy doesn't look bad. However, by consequence, it also looks like they don't care for Izuku apart from some key members like Tokoyami who never stand for Bakugou's shit. (Bless you, Tokoyami!)

However, with Izuku's main friendships in the 'Deku Squad', we have:

Izuku & Ochako - a friendship/budding relationship that is left to rot and actively done a disservice for 'comedy' and Bakugou's benefit.

Izuku & Iida - a friendship that is left to rot and actively done a disservice for 'comedy' and Bakugou's benefit.

Izuku & Shoto - a friendship that is actively done a disservice for 'comedy' and for Bakugou's benefit.

Izuku & Tsuyu - left to rot and done a disservice for Bakugou's benefit.

Izuku & Aoyama - left to rot.

How are we meant to buy that Ochako cares for and 'loves' Izuku when she calls him 'plain' and is so set on hiding her feelings?

When she doesn't stand up for him when he's being abused by Bakugou and when she looks freaked out whenever Izuku is shown to enjoy his hobbies?

Or when she 'who loves Izuku' barely spends any time with him?

From what we see in canon, we can't.

How are we meant to buy Iida cares for Izuku when he barely appears with him now?

How are we meant to buy Iida is Izuku's "best friend" yet when he is so quick to call Izuku "Mr House Arrest" and take Aizawa's side without hearing out Izuku?

Or when Iida is so quick to hit him* after Izuku getting out of the hospital?

Logically, we can't. *Yes, Iida apologised for doing this. However, this moment does rub me wrong, and even if this punch is nullified by the apology, the other criticisms still stand.

How are we meant to buy Shoto cares for Izuku when he thinks nothing of Bakugou verbally and physically berating Izuku now*?

*Yes, Shoto is an abuse victim, and some become desensitised to this behaviour as a result - however Shoto did not begin the series acting this way, so what conclusion can we draw?

How are we meant to buy that Shoto is a close friend of Izuku when he is chasing after Bakugou's friendship (Bakugou, who is openly hateful of Izuku?)

It looks like, through Hori trying to glorify Bakugou, that Shoto doesn't care as much for Izuku as we would like to think.

Tsuyu and Aoyama are barely even there anymore, let alone bond with Izuku.

Tsuyu used to stand up to Bakugou and his bullshit openly - now? Not a peep. She's only here to be an accessory to Toga vs. Ochako and Ochako as a whole. Izuku, who?

Aoyama has strong parallels with Izuku due to both starting the series quirkless and being given a quirk by AFO and AM, respectively. Yet this friendship is barely given any focus by Hori. Hori doesn't want Izuku to think about his own past during Aoyama's backstory, so he fails to give Izuku any introspection and fails to deepen their connection and Izuku's character as a result.

Class 1A as a whole are also done a disservice by Hori having them all gang up on Izuku with Bakugou leading the charge.

To conclude - Hori hates Izuku and it is clear looking at just how dirty he does all his connections in 1A and major friendships.

-Naga Overhaul! Considering his distaste for things he considers gross, it’s gonna be a tense experience. Be EXTREMELY careful about his scars and tail, don’t move too much or anything. He’ll be gentle with you, occasionally patting your head.

-Fae Eri is a sweetie, she’s always down for physical affection from her favorite adopted Sis!

-May god be with you cause holy shit does Siren Toga get clingy and territorial. She treats Reader like some glorified pet/doll rather than a family member.

-She squeezes your body, pinches your cheeks and condescendingly coos at your cries and complaints about how tight she’s holding you.

-Dragon Bakusquad is honestly top tier for this sorta thing. They are part dragon!

-The warmth, the affection is to die for. It’s basically a giant cuddle pile of dragons who adore you.

-Be warned though, they tend to have minor disagreements that result in minor wrestling matches.

MHA chapter 416 (rambles)

Ok so this was like mainly a conclusion chapter for many characters and I guess I like that we are getting clarity on what's going on with some of the characters.

This chapter definitely gives me some very mixed feelings I feel like it's one of the best chapters horikoshi has produced in a long time if we exclude whatever is going on with Izuku and shigaraki.

There are still some things I definitely do dislike in this chapter which are:

The overall dismissal of izuku in general by other characters. Like no offense but I feel like we should of seen more people being worried for izuku instead of dismissing their worry and being like oh Iam not putting my faith in him or something because what do you mean you're not worrying for a 16 year old who has to fight an insane psychopath killer?!?? I still hate how momo dismissed this like wasn't 1A's whole objective when it came to getting Izuku back in the vigilante arc was because they were worried and scared for him?!?!? What happend now it makes no sense?!?!? Also i still hate momos atrocious hero costume

Ochako and Toga's character conclusions?!?! Like excuse me what's going on where is toga how is she not in the picture at all if the whole point was that she sacrificed herself for ochako and layed their dying next to her now she is nowhere to be?!?! People just accept it and are like oh well she has been defeated no need to worry but you do realise that she can probably cause damage if she wanted to right?!?? Also Ausi deserves better because what's going on with her she was so out of place and somewhat irrelevant when it came to this arc like seriously hori did her dirty. Also who is next to ochako in that plane ?!?! Am I speaking to early and that could be toga or someone else

Monoma deserved better. Oh did monoma deserve more screentime to shine and actually do more instead he got injured and knocked out offscreen which is such a shame. I really wanted to see more of him

Lady nagant's take on izuku?!?? No offense but Iam sick and tired of characters having some wild takes of izuku. One minute it's oh he sees the good in everyone and he is a saint to the next which is oh he is a puppet who follows instructions to a letter and does more than he should. I still don't like kudo and his views whenever it concerns midoriya it seriously infuriates me. However, now that kudo is gone guess it's lady nagant's turn to take some of the role because hey is she saying that his pain is a good thing and that izuku has a morally grey view of villains which I cannot lie hasn't been proven at all. Don't get me wrong I love that idea but I think like everything in MHA it just has a horrible execution and I can't bring myself to like it. Lady nagant deserves better characterisation then this

This chapter was a 50/50 when it came to the character if Eri. I absolutely adored her interaction with Kota and I find them absolutely adorable also at least ectoplasm is doing something and didn't let the girl run into the battlefield which is good enough (bare minimum). However, it still feels all icky that the heroes used her or well tried to utilise her anyway even if it's with good intentions or whatever the fact that they tried to make her heal aizawa but she lacked energy so she couldn't or whatever. Her lacking energy also feels like somewhat of a horribly introduced plot point because wasn't the whole problem she had when she came to UA was that she had a lot of her quirk built up and shouldn't the power in her horn be enough rewind aizawa into a week back in time like ?!?!! She couldn't be lacking that much energy it makes absolutely no sense to me. Also dam it's sad that Eri is out here being the only one worrying for izuku. They deserve better

Hawks and tokoyami. They deserve their win section I love them and their dynamic just wish the series could of given us more when it came to them seriously the wasted potential the wasted dynamic and tensions get me

The ending of the chapter?!?! Why is izuku in his uniform what happend?!?! I still don't get how they're merging into one person or one entity with different and same memories. Also why is this all about shigaraki like they're sharing memories so why aren't we seeing Izuku's memories this feels iffy to me. The dfo truthers have risen but tbh I don't see how this can benefit izuku in anyway and why does izuku have to watch the shimura family murder. Also if izuku is in his uniform does that mean he has become part of the memory did they do some space jumbo thing where they time travel and now they're changing fate and reality or some shenanigans like that?!??? The kotaro and tenko parallel hit tho that was good but other than that this whole Izuku's Nd shigaraki fight falls flat it's really such a disappointment and disaster to me.

I LOVE THE CONTRAST BETWEEN THESE TWO IZUKU'S. I also adore his relationship with eri I wish we got more of them!!!

For Tokoyami/Dark shadow relationships ask! How about Mr. Compress? There’s an interaction between them in one of the games that shows that Tokoyami holds a grudge against him for almost kidnapping him, so I think it would be interesting.

Interesting! For the league of villains interactions I like to imagine an AU where he did happen to be kidnapped by the league and they try to indoctrinate him instead. He will be in a well lit room/cell and each of the members will try to persuade him to join. He isn’t in heavy chains like bakugo because he hasn’t been resisting.

Oh he definitely has a lot of bitterness once he finds out he’s in this situation because of this man. Compress says he sees so much potential in him but potential for what? Hurting people, destruction? Clearly this man doesn’t actually know his morals and values and only sees him as a weapon or pawn. Yes he is very bitter indeed.

Compress sees he miss understood this kid, he isn’t actually violent and rage filled like he saw in the forest. Yes he has great power but a reluctance to use it, the question is why? That is what he needs to find out, of course it’s not out of the goodness of his heart to help this kid, certainly not. It’s simply what he needs to convince him to join.

When it came to answering the other members of the leagues questions tokoyami didn’t hold back. They basically gave him a spiel about how they’re the same and can offer him freedom. Spinner talked about being a heteromorph, shigaraki and his “dangerous quirk”, toga and their mutual yearning to be themselves and use their quirks when they want. Twice and dabi’s discussions went a little sour but that’s not important right now. The point is tokoyami picked apart their logic with the precision of a surgeon. There are all things he has already thought about and refuted long ago when he chose the path of a hero. If anything he has made the entire league doubt their own motives in the way only a goth teenager can. This is most high stakes form of debate club he has ever been a part of but he feels like he is winning.

So when compress asks him why he holds back…he tells him. It was inevitable he would mess up eventually, he let his guard down and foolishly gave the league information about himself. About his fear of hurting people. And compress just…leaves after that. He goes to confide in the league about what he found out and one thing is abundantly clear.

Everyone in the league was telling him how to feel and act. Mr. Compress was the only one to ask him how he actually felt.

They come up with a new plan of sorts, use compress to extract information from tokoyami as a sort of therapist and way for him to vent, and compress won’t suggest any ideas of joining the league to tokoyami and inevitably breaking that “trust”. It’s like good cop bad cop but he’s the only good one and all the rest of them are layering it on thick. It’s a sneaky backhanded form of deception that suits Mr. Compress well I think.

He tries to get to know tokoyami more but toko seems to have realized his mistake and has closed himself off. Tokoyami isn’t directly aware that this is the tactic they are using but he noticed all the other members started talking about his “past quirk incidents” and knew he had told them. He isn’t going to make the same mistake twice and surely not going to “trust” Mr. Compress. They end up playing a lot of card games. Eventually they even talk about sleight of hand.

Both of them immediately mess up their plans. Tokoyami shows him some of his magic tricks. Compress demands to know where tokoyami learned such a thing and if he is a thief like him. Toko doesn’t want him to think he’s a thief so he says his uncle is a magician which is true. Compress then goes on a tangent about his tragic back story. He becomes so passionate he tries to convince toko to join the league, he didn’t realize they had so much in common!! Tokoyami says he has sympathy for those who had to steal to survive and knows the divide between the rich and poor is growing…but joining the league won’t help with that. Tokoyami reiterates that he can advocate for social reform by becoming a hero and bring change from the inside. Compress says he can become a thief and return the riches to their rightful owners. Toko says that is such a small term solution for a bigger problem and He also doesn’t want to become a thief, he has no passion for it. Mr. Compress feels a bit foolish for being told off by a kid but returns to the league with the miss match of good and bad news.

The kid knows sleight of hand and has an uncle who is a magician buuuut the plan to gain his trust seemed to have failed. Little does he know toko feels a bit better knowing compress isn’t a killer with a wild cause. He’s like Robin Hood, a harmless antihero. Tokoyami thinks he’s actually the most tolerable member of the league because of that (besides kurogiri who is a peacemaker of sorts). He’s still mad about being kidnapped though.

Dark shadow has been staying inside tokos body so they can’t talk to compress completely but…shadow is a complete kleptomaniac. If they want something they will take it without care. It’s not their fault they don’t get to have their own bank account and fumikage has to spend all their money on “necessities”. If they had the money they are sure they would use it instead of stealing…probably. But they REALLY don’t like compress. Very big grudge holder here. It kinda makes them rethink that stealing might be bad actually??? Maybe but Dark Shadow thinks they would be a very good theif. Too bad they hate being here and hate compress and dabi and being stuck in a cage restrained against their will. Yeah being a hero is way more fun getting to protect people. Mr. Compress and the whole league can shove it! Right Fumi!…right?

(I feel a bit odd about using an au for this response but there was just SO MUCH potential for tokoyami interacting with the league that just…never happened. I NEED to see what could have been between them and the kidnapping is the most logical place those interactions could have taken place. So yeah I will continue to answer league of villains interactions in this au)
