Note
There's something I've noticed especially since chapter 431 came out and that is that I saw a lot of his stans criticism for making Bakugou centered on Izuku and not giving him his own independence as a character, and I think it's funny because Bakugou's character has the development he has because he's connected to Izuku, if he wasn’t part of Izuku’s story he wouldn't have a narrative arc to develop. Some stans complain about it and even recognize that in the final arc of Bakugou contribution was minimal and he didn't really touch on important themes of the work, remaining only on the surface with the shiny but insignificant moments.
When I talk about his contribution being minimal is that Bakugou doesn't have a villain by himself, partly his development is just learning to play as a team but his final moment with Afo is even pathetic because the villain was already weakened and he’s the final blow (Tokoyami even had a quirk awakening much more powerful than Bakugou), his parallelism with the second user was random because each character at that moment wanted to fight to eliminate AFO, it was forced to bring that parallelism between the two when you have all the characters in the manga trying to do the same and considering that All Might had more power over AFO's emotional out of control than Bakugou himself. I can understand why someone would superficially watch the manga and say that Bakugou has the best ending (before chapter 431 according to his fans), but then you go to his final part and it’s so insignificant compared to the arcs of Shoto (who has his own narrative outside of Izuku), Ochako and her relationship with Toga and even Izuku and Tomura (as mistreated as their character treatment was), Bakugou doesn’t represent any of the main message of the plot and his arc is a redemption, chapter 431 shows Bakugou stagnating because even if it isn’t a big change, the society of heroes no longer needs heroes like him, that is why characters like Ochako, Shoto, Izuku and others have lives outside of heroism or seek to have it because at the end of the day the heroism of today's society is not fights with great threats but what would be more community work, preventing villains from forming because society has different tools than the expulsion of what they see differently (Ochako and her job) or even the initiative of the people around them who would see someone in trouble and try to act.I think there are many things I can criticize Horikoshi for in the entire manga, but I understand that the final message was that society, even slowly, is changing and that the role of heroes is also changing in some aspects (now children want to enter other fields, medicine, technology, etc.), in other words, it isn’t All Might’s era even though there is still a ranking, at least I’m going to recognize that in Horikoshi's ending.
I mean yeah you're pretty spot-on with this.
It's only because of Izuku that Bakugou was given so much exposure in the first place. Not even because of Izuku's own development, just the fact that he's always been there to validate Bakugou's character. Always defending him, always there to shove his "good" traits in our faces, and always there to forgive him. Bakugou's redemption doesn't exist without being heavily reliant on Izuku because Horikoshi failed to take the time to separate him from Izuku.
Bakugou's redemption should have been an easy one. All it needed was him not consistently forcing his victim to be the one to deal with his shit. He constantly makes his problems Izuku's to fix, which just makes him look worse every time he does it. Because he couldn't make the change on his own, everyone- including his victim- did the work for him.
Keeping Bakugou and Izuku separate would have been the best thing for both characters. Bakugou stans are only realizing that now because this time it happened to be Bakugou that got "screwed over," not Izuku

I find it absolutely hilarious how in All Might Bashing fanfics set during the Final Exams, the focus is on how he made Bakugou THROW UP, like that was some awful thing to do. Meanwhile, Izuku was nearly PARALYZED (I think Recovery Girl says so herself iirc) and it just gets glossed over. He's just over here like:
Tumblr media
I absolutely think that he went way overboard in fighting them, but I thought paralysis was worse than vomiting, but what the fuck do I know?
Izuku could literally be bleeding out, and all the focus would be on Bakugou.

The funniest thing a Bakugou stan has ever commented on one of my fics is that Bakugou respects his elders.
Mf, in what universe?!
Hi @sapphic-agent 👋
Bakugou Stans be truly making up their own story around thier precious Boom-Boom Bastard and claiming it as canon, aren't they? 🤣😂🤣
It's like these Stans don't actually read the story and instead see only what they wish to.
Meanwhile, live footage of me trying to find a scene Bakugou has any respect for anyone, let alone an elder.

Bakugou the underdog? If he ever heard his stans say that he'd be pissed lmao.
Disregarding Izuku for a minute, if there are any underdogs it's Kirishima and Uraraka. They're the ones who were doubted and didn't have the means to be immediate show outs and they're the ones who worked extra hard to be better.
Bakugou was always believed in and had all the support he needed. He was born with a strong quirk that damn near assured he was going to be a hero.
And he knows that. It's something he revels in and brags about. If anyone ever called him an underdog they'd be met with an explosion to the face.
Bakugou stans claim we don't know his character and then say shit like this
No Words.
Today while I was poking around the various tags, I found what is quite possibly the most insane MHA related take I've seen on this site.
Most of us can agree or at least compramise that while not perfect, Midoriya is probably one of the least problematic characters in the series. And I think it's fair to say that most of us understand Midoriya's role as the underdog of the story.
So when I read dialog like this:
Tumblr media
It really makes me wonder if we read and followed the same story. Forget critical thinking, this throws all logic under the bus.
Bakugo, the underdog!?. The same boy who lucked out in the genetic lottery. The same boy who, for years, tormented Midoriya and was allowed to continue to do so at U.A!? (Attempted to kill him on the second day!, nearly putting Midoriya, Uraraka, Ida and himself at risk of dying in a building collapse.)
Who has put his fellow students and U.A's staff in harms way both intentionally and not, again and again and faced no real consequences. (Thirteen should loath him by all accounts for both points.)
The same character who was coddled and swaddled by the narrative so hard, that it threw the whole plot out of orbit, had characters, events and even established lore dragged through the mud and rendered painfully 1 dimensional (cough-Shoto-cough-Ejiro).
That Bakugo?.
Obelix put it best:

MHA: the MC and the main villain are always wrong and sidelined
Hi, so I mentioned before how everyone always proves Izuku and Shig wrong...characters like AFO and BK belittle, abuse, and hurt Izu and Shig and...are right about them. Shig is a loser who did nothing (things fall on his lap, no questions)
I hope I can put my idea here, basically...every character says smth negative about Izuku and Shigaraki, which is a parallel in itself.
Dr. Evil
AFO.
Mirio
Overhaul
Redestro
Said how Shig is a loser (Dr. Evil was really on his face) and ....Shig doesn´t react.
Izuku
Bk
Aldera
Aizawa
Hound Dog
A1
Izuku defeated Overhaul, who is way above BK, and guess what? He is not allowed to win against his abuser. He doesn´t change...He still thinks he is useless... He is the odd duck.
Shig is confident yes (a nice contrast with Izu ...if only was written by someone who doesn´t detest Izu and Shig) but is not smart, has no agency or thinks about his actions...He doesn´t realize how HE IS THE NPC of AFO.
What´s the point here? I don´t know at this point, is not my words that will change villain stans on their views on both characters...its just how in the end Shig and Izu have such insane amouth of parallels. And the story ends with them having 0 relationship.
Not as brothers
Not as friend
Not as lover
They are strangers...and I can admit that.
As I can say, again, they have insane amount of parallels.

People are joking about Slide 8 in the comments. CW: Suicide Baiting.
I'm done. 🙂🙂🙂
Hi @anartisicandautisticstararcher
I saw that tiktok and dam I hated that. Maybe it's because Iam already very biased and just have a strong disliking towards bakugo but I seriously don't understand how people can understand bakugos violent behaviour and acknowledge that he harms izuku and just belittle it into a silly joke.
For context this is the picture I assume your talking about and also the first comment I see underneath that video is literally one saying that suicide baiting is funny.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To be honest I hate it even more when you realise that if bakugo were to do this to another character everyone would demonise bakugo and feel bad for the other character. Like I said and like @mikeellee always says horikoshi doesn't actually care for izuku and he always makes izuku's pain into a gag. Seriously Izuku is literally described to be a gag character by horikoshi. This just makes me wonder why he even made Izuku the MC in the first place

Bakugou's quirk makes zero sense
A lot of this has to do with Horikoshi giving Bakugou ridiculous upgrades so he can "keep up" with a quirk that has been growing exponentially over generations, which should not even be attempted. It just makes One for All seem less impressive.
In the battle trials, Bakugou used his support gauntlets to create an explosion that was around the same size as the one he pulled out of nowhere in the sports festival. After he'd fought earlier, literally winning with the fact that quirks gets tired over time. His quirk drawbacks are rarely used and only used to make him look better. It just feels cheap.
Again with the sports festival, if his quirk is based on palm sweat, how did he have anything to explode when Shoto iced him???
Do Bakugou's explosions create or dispell smoke? It's always the same chemical reaction, so that shouldn't change at all. Make up your mind, Hori.
He uses it to fly by having the force push him in the opposite direction. So why does that never happen when he's using it otherwise???
Not to mention how dumb it is that he can apparently change how much light vs sound it produces.
It's just annoying when Horikoshi changes the rules of his quirk constantly to push the rivalry that doesn't even exist.
(Seriously, the save to win vs win to save thing when Izuku literally does both anyway and it's just Bakugou that needs work is so annoying)
I could go deeper into this but I don't have the energy.

In light of the last ask I got, it's so interesting that now Izuku is getting hate. Because when he was a blank prop who worshipped Bakugou at every turn, that was fine. When he didn't show a hint of malice against Bakugou, that was defended as him just not holding a grudge. But now that he's exercising agency against his abuser as a conscious adult who's (presumably) had time to come to terms with his trauma, y'all are mad?
Bakugou stans and BakuDeku shippers never cared about Izuku. They only cared about how he could make Bakugou look better. Now that he isn't doing that anymore, he's being thrown out like garbage

imagine wanting actual living breathing people to die because of their fictional ships could not be me because im normal and not chronically online 🥰
I'm assuming this is about bakudeku due to how often I shit on it, but that doesn't make sense since I've never said I wanted bakudeku shippers to DIE. not once. you can look through all of my anti posts and I have never said I wanted them to die. I might have made a joke at some point about bakugo's death, but never actual real people. but you know who DO go around harassing bakugo and bakudeku antis? bakugo / bakudeku stans! you know, like what you are doing. right now.
it's almost as if I've made it very clear that is blog is a huge bakugo / bakudeku anti space. it's almost like my INFO PAGE, that is IN MY BLOGS DISCRIPTION, says I don't want bakudeku / bakugo stans interacting with me. I don't interact with bakudeku or bakugo content. I do not intrude on YOUR spaces to leave hateful or rude messages.
I don't like responding to ludicrous junk like this, but i decided this would be a good example of a lot of bakudeku / bakugo stans. stop intruding on spaces that were not made for you to spout nonsense.

THIS is what should have happened.
Also, taking a long break from Twitter. The amount of people laughing and saying, “He needed to get in one last good jab in before apologizing” or similar things made me angry and sick.

*Note: This isn't meant to attack OP or anything. I don't care that they don't like a character even if it's one that I like. It's their opinion. I just would like to share my own opinion on the subject. Also, their blog is abandoned*
*Note: Also I'm tagging Anti Bakugou and Anti Aizawa not because there's much anti-ness going on here, but because I don't want their fans to accuse me of not tagging properly. It's more of vague references to their shortcomings concerning Izuku since we're talking about mentors and Bakugou is mentioned a lot in the OP*
1. He didn't "trauma dump." Izuku found out his secret and asked what happened and he told the truth. All AM said was that he fought against a villain and lost and that's why he looked like that. He gave Izuku the respect of knowing the truth. He wasn't trying to push is trauma onto Izuku or scare him, he was being truthful.
2. Yeah, he shouldn't have said this. But he was in a low place and thought he was giving Izuku the best advice he could at that point. He acknowledged that Izuku wanted to help people and gave him a way he could even if it wasn't the way he wanted. He was trying to be realistic. At this time UA had only JUST allowed quirkless applicants and it was nearly impossible for some people WITH quirks (we don't even know if the other schools were even at the stage of letting in quirkless people). And no one would have told him any differently either (especially not Aizawa despite popular opinions/headcanons). This isn't an All Might problem, this is a society problem.
3. There was a door. Izuku wasn't stranded. This is only so crucial because someone had just told him to take a swan dive. And All Might had no way of knowing that. Izuku was never in any danger and he had to get the Sludge Villain to the authorities. Was this a little irresponsible? Yes. But he didn't put Izuku in danger.
4. Neither did the other pros who were supposed to be the ones actively apprehending the villain. All Might had pushed his body to its limit but still saved Bakugou. Pro heroes being so useless that it takes All Might to beat a singular villain (a C-rank villain at that) is the real problem here.
5. Because he was trying to ease Izuku into it. He also thought All For One was dead. He had no reason to think Izuku would be targeted. Why pile all of that on him when there was no reason to? When he suspected AFO was alive he told Izuku right away.
6. See above.
7. I mean, I hope he gives more attention to the student he's personally mentoring (Aizawa certainly does concerning Shinsou). But during class time he's never favored any of his students over the others. There's literally an entire sequence with him equally giving advice and pointers to all his students during class.
8. If you're talking about the Battle Trials, he went out of his way to compliment Bakugou when nothing Bakugou did warranted a compliment. He disobeyed a direct order from his instructor. If you're talking about Deku vs Kacchan Part 2, he comforted Bakugou immensely. He took responsibility and said everything he could to make him feel better and encourage him. He did more for Bakugou than he did for Izuku who was the one who was attacked.
9. Except, he couldn't have just "helped him out." It was way more complicated than that. All Might genuinely didn't know how. Controlling One For All came easily to him when he inherited it and nothing ever indicated that it would be different for his protege. He didn't know why Izuku couldn't get the hang of it. He made an entire training regime to prepare Izuku for OFA. He tried his best to help him, he didn't give him vague instructions on purpose he told him how he learned.
10. This is quite a claim considering Torino was the one who reached out. He requested Izuku for his internship. All Might was panicking because he didn't know Torino would do this and felt bad because his old mentor thought he was doing a bad job. He didn't dump anything on Torino.
11. But... No one ever suspected a thing about OFA. If they were doing such a bad job, why did Aizawa (his literal homeroom teacher) never say anything about his quirk? At the most, people thought All Might was training him and that was never really a secret. Bakugou literally didn't do anything to help. He yelled at them for it once because they were talking privately in the open, but no one was ever close to drawing up that All Might passed on his quirk. No one even thought that was in the realm of possibility. No one has a clue until Izuku outright told everyone.
12. He literally told Izuku not to push himself in the ten months he spent training him. He made Izuku lunch everyday while he was on the run as a vigilante to make sure he remembered to eat. He told Izuku that prioritizing saving others was what made a true hero, not that he shouldn't take care of himself. Izuku isn't self-destructive because of All Might, he's self-destructive because someone told him every day of his life that he was worthless. Pinning that on All Might is not okay because it minimizes the damage Bakugou did to Izuku.
Is All Might perfect? Of course not. Does he make mistakes? Yes. He's flawed just like everyone else. But you know what All Might does with those flaws? He acknowledges them and does his best to do better. He does what he can to improve as a mentor and support Izuku the best he can. He's a good mentor who genuinely loves and cares for Izuku
Reasons why I have mixed feelings about All Might. (and why most of those feelings are annoyance)
Listen here, all might isn't my favorite and here's why:
-he trauma dumped and shared about his secret power to a random child and just told him not to tell anybody
-tells a young child that he can't be a hero
-leaves said child on a random rooftop
-wouldn't've saved katsuki if deku didn't do the gay and try to save him
-barely skims the surface of the history of ofa when offering it to deku
-doesn't tell deku about the quirk's history even when he gave him the power
-favors other students on an insanely high level
-barely tried to comfort katsuki
-was horrible at coaching izuku and gave him insanely vague instructions when he could've just helped him out
-dumped the responsibility of izuku onto gran torino
-was horrible at keeping ofa on the down low and katsuki had to help out bc he saw what a shit job izuku and all might were doing at keeping it under wraps
-was constantly enabling deku's self destructive behavior
i don't think all might is an evil person, i just think that he's a bad mentor
