okay. under the assumption that namemc spoilers are a troll, i think i have my final wildcard prediction:

gem and pearl said (paraphrasing) that the mobs were all weird and that wasn't really the wildcard nor a spoiler. it's the last episode, so presumably grian didn't want everyone to die to random wildcard effects (some people was probably fine)

so my prediction is decaying/corrupting world. something about the world is falling apart. maybe gravity changes? blocks getting replaced? shrinking world border? idk exactly but i feel like this would be fun for a couple of reasons

a sense of finality to the season. it has to end here because the world is literally falling apart

a deadline. its got to be tempting for the cc's to drag out the last session and try and gear up/prepare/get enough content. this puts a hard clock on the season

a strangely thematic ending (imo). this world was weird and wild. things happened that were not supposed to happen. eventually all of that energy had to break and the world broke too

the fanart would fuck. just. so hard. after a season of ridiculousness, the drama artists deserve to go ham

anyways even if this isn't the wildcard, im going to hc the server corrupting as the season ends. a treat for me

I want to clarify a couple things:

When I say "distrust", I mean that I have no faith in their other writing. Zenos is a good villain for almost exclusively a single reason; throwing that away tells me that you don't understand what makes a good villain. Without his moral bankruptcy and singular focus in fighting you, Zenos has no foundation.

I'm not trashing people for being silly about pixels; I'm SPECIFICALLY talking about the quality of the WRITING. Zenos being babygirl in fanart is fine. Small "what if" snippets are great! But the people who write entire novellas about Zenos doing the fun girlfriend things with their WoL OC is just...bland. It's uninteresting, tells me nothing about your WoL, and turns Zenos into something he's absolutely OPPOSED to. Tilting a character a bit to fit into your narrative is good...just keep it in that character's range, yeah?

Spicy take, but I viscerally distrust anyone who portrays Zenos as a romantic figure.

I super enjoy those who decide to headcanon that he came back with them from Ultima Thule. That your mutual near-death mortal combat changed him in some way. But that he's still a violent, exceedingly dangerous piece of trauma that needs to be contained. And you WoL OCs who match his savagery beat for beat? I see you. I appreciate you. You're doing it RIGHT, even if there are romantic undertones.

But Zenos is not your "babygirl". He's not someone you can have and hold. He wants to fight you. He wants you to fill his mouth with his own blood. He wants you to kill him.

And you did.

You killed him.

He got what he wanted and so did you, if you respect his character. Making him into your squishy shows an utter disregard for what makes him a GOOD FOIL TO THE WARRIOR OR LIGHT.

I want to be clear: subverting what the devs intend for a character is fine! People bringing back Hades to be a traveling companion now that he has his memories back? That's pretty neat. But why doesn't anyone do that with Venat? Or Hythlodaeus? Or...

...literally anyone other than the biggest baddest villains of the entire game?

Zenos was meant to die by your hand. Emet-Selch was meant to die by your hand. If you're going to keep them around in your head-canon, please at least TRY to have some diligence regarding what makes these characters GOOD.

Zenos's entire staple as a compelling villain is that he's your dark reflection. A reflection you can choose to deny...or accept as your truth. As such, as your character changes so should he. How you find joy should change how he finds joy, and vice versa. But he is STILL the hunter. As are you.

So instead of putting him in a slutty two-piece and going to the beach, take your Dark Passenger with you on a hunt. I'm sure he and Zoraal Ja would have a LOT to uh..."say" to each other. >:3x

What's sad about MD ending is not that it's ending

Putting a read more because like a lot of my other text post, this one got long

Welp, by now I'm sure the majority of the fans have heard about the trailer for the 8th episode of Murder drones, and how that trailer is called the 'Series Final.' Of course, this is upsetting in itself. This story about these weird little robots, the world that the live in, and how this 'big bad eldritch abomination of a code error' feels like it is ending way too soon what the show has built up in its run time. There feels like there's still to many questions that are going to be left unaswered, and too many mysteries that are going to be left unsolved...but at the end of the day, it's also better to leave a series in a high note then to continue banging it out and watch it become a mess of what it originally was.

Yes, I am sad that after waiting for so long, I hear that something I was looking forward to is going to be ending with an episode that's coming up in a few weeks at this point in time. Much like a lot of other fans, I was holding onto the hope and the copium that Murder Drones would be getting a second season after Glitch finally released the awaited 8th episode. And I was very much disheartened with seeing the episode trailer being called it's series final and just the season final. But I can except than the book for this crazy little story has to come to a close. I now just hold out hope that the time the people working on the show has put into this episode will leave all us fans satisfied with where this crazy and wonderful story we all stuck around for ends.

But now it time to get into what I put in as the title. As sad before, the series coming to an end is going to be sad, but I personally don't think that's going to be the saddest part. No, I think the saddest part is going to be slow death of the memory of the show. Why I think this...Well, it's what happened to Meta Runner. This was the first show of the Glitch Productions channel, and we barely see anything about it getting talked about. Glitch didn't even so much as tweet anything about Meta Runner on the anniversary of the show, all the past merch was put under the 'Glitch Classics' section of the store, and said merch is forever sold out as no more of them are being made. Sure we got a little Tari figure in the new 'Glitch Inn' that the company is doing, but that really is only because Glitch acknowledges the fact that some fans still remember Meta Runner. Tari on the SMG4 channel has just become than just a 'quirky' background character to the other characters on that channel, her purpose of advertising her show long gone by. What was once the driving project for this indie show company has been reduced to getting nothing more than fun little call backs.

Eventually, the same is going to happened to Murder drones. The merch is going to stop being made, when the last of it gets sold that's it for it all, and it is even possibly going to be moved under the Classic section of the store to make room for whatever other projects Glitch does to be one the front page. Kevin and Luke aren't going to be talking much about the show, as there's not going to be a reason to with it being over. And eventually the projects they do after the show is going to push the shows playlist on the channel down. There is going to come a time when we look back on what happened and think 'Wow, this show only exists in references now.'

So yeah, those have been my thought about what sad about the show coming to an end.

They're testing boundaries together, and no matter how addled their brains get with such honeymoon behavior they still summon the cognizance to ask each other, "Is this okay?" or enforce rules like, "Tell me to stop if you're uncomfortable."

And Ariane is never uncomfortable with Elster, but every now and then she needs to tap out because it veers dangerously close to overwhelming when she's pinned to a wall, their lips locked and tongues tentatively learning to dance, Elster's powerful body pressing into hers...

And that's before teeth get involved.  Ariane fucking loves it when her neck is marked by Elster's lips and tongue and teeth.  Every bite elicits an exhale that carries hints of a moan, and Ariane eggs her on in any way she can – clawing her fingers up and down Elster's strong back, grabbing her hair, even sliding her leg up an outer thigh. 

Elster's shell is hot under her fingers, and if Ariane were in her right mind she would find that unusual because the Replika's body temperature varies between cool and warm depending on how much work's been done, but she's never felt hot to the touch until now.  Ariane's clothes stick to her body and a thin sheen of sweat forms on her exposed skin; Elster's making noises, little huffs and grunts, flexing her body as if trying to shrug something off, and that just makes her abdomen rub against Ariane in a way that makes her mewl.

"Elster..."

"Ariane... wait a minute," she husks with a roughness that nearly causes the Gestalt's knees to buckle.

Ariane's about to ask if she's alright when Elster pulls away enough for them to properly see one another, and the words die in her mouth with a whimper.  The hallway's dim lighting makes those eyes do that thing where the red pupils shine like the eyes of a dangerous creature, and not helping matters at all is the puffs of actual steam emanating from her mouth with each labored breath.  The musculature under that armor plating is tensed, bulging with effort.

It's the hottest thing Ariane has ever seen.

Elster pushes herself away and blows steam off to the side as if she'd taken a drag from a cigarette.  The unexpected arousal slips to the side of Ariane's mind and concern takes over.

"That's never happened before," she points out.

"No."

"Are you okay?  Did I touch something I'm not supposed to?  We can set up like a 'no touch zone' if you want!"

"No, no, I just... I need to cool down. Overheating."

"I didn't know Replikas could overheat."

"We can, same as Gestalts.  We need an internal temperature to function.  Think of it like, warming up an engine on a cold day so it doesn't stall.  I might need a cycle in the calibration pod just to be safe."

Ariane nods along.  "That makes sense.  But what caused it?  As far as I know, ship maintenance isn't exactly strenuous..."

Elster looks like she has an idea but doesn't feel her hypothesis is appropriate to say out loud, which is only giving Ariane ideas.  Instead she opts for rolling and flexing her body like before, maybe trying to discern some unknown itch, but it's terribly distracting for Ariane, whose legs turn to jelly and ends up sliding down the wall at the sight of those abdominal muscles at work.

Elster chuffs.  "Wow.  Are you okay?"

"You," Ariane points at her accusingly, "are too hot for your own good."

"I am steaming right now."

"Shut the fuck—!" Ariane laughs, long and loopy.  "Elster Five-One-Two, you absolute dork – I swear to multiple religions censored by the State, and I don't care if it's treason or heresy or whatever, but holy risen mother of god does the mere sight of you do things to me."

Elster ducks her head with a crooked smile.  "I hope those things are good."
