There's been a fear of discussing this in the past because many variations are on the list of "recommend for abortion" because of perceived "insurmountable" health issues, and so the community has spent SO MUCH time and effort in educating others in how intersex isn't a fatal condition, that it's caused us harms in other ways.

(disclaimer: i am not intersex, please tell me if i got anything wrong or if this comes off as offensive or if i phrased things badly)

a lot of people talk about the overlap between trans issues and intersex issues but i haven't really seen people talk about the overlap between intersex issues and disability

i think there's something to say about how both intersex people and disabled people are treated as "problems to be fixed" or "diseases to be cured" rather than just being regular people who exist in the world

Someone told me that autistic people live shorter lives (on average) and I didn't believe it, but then I looked it up.

There could be a bunch of different conclusions of why (worse heart health due to stress, intens medications, lifestyle, depression etc) when I read some articles, but this is the first time I've heard about it in my life.
