aight gwiles anti rant coming up beware negros also thanks @ashsostrange and @tainted-liquor for this info LMAOAOAO
okay since the non delulus are here, lets talk gwiles for a hot minute.
i made a rant abt them a while ago and how gwen needed to do what she had to do and whatever yada yada yada well coming back to that shit, she acted like she didn’t have a choice and HAD to see miles
i get that she loves him and all, but for you to go walk in his room and meet his parents SPECIFICALLY shake the hand of the man who is dying in the next two days then leave this boy heart broken at the end of the movie
you have some NERVEEEE.
cause
a) you didnt have to go on that mission
b) you didnt have to see him that shit wasnt REQUIRED
she even said it herself “i didnt wanna hurt him, but i did” but that doesnt mean it couldnt have been PREVENTED??? YOU ACT LIKE THERE WAS NO OTHER OPTION. they made us have too much sympathy for her in this movie ngl cause she didnt deserve to be VICTIMIZED by some of you
also to you all who says shes “homeless”—
Tumblr media
she technically wasnt. i get if she went back home she coulda been arrested n shit but like the whole reason she went back was for HER DAD. NOT THE FEAR OF GETTING ARRESTED. so that eliminates excuse ONE.
excuse two being “she didnt wanna confront her dad” dhe had to at some point 🤨 rather do it sooner than a year and a half later my nigga
back to the fact she hurt miles, not saying this because i love him with all my heart, but their relationship is BEYOND REPAIR im sorry thats the hard truth
i dont know abt you but i wouldnt love someone who knew someone close to me was gonna die in two days and had the nerve to come see me and shake his mf hand and act all friendly then end up siding with the force thats AGAINST HIM??? yeah no hell to the fucking no
i wouldnt do it if i got a milli
and even if she saw him after his canon event, that wouldnt change much AT ALL LMAOOOO
its not even “what she had to do” its “what she had to do since she put herself in this situation”

Nature is healing.
I burned the Meadow a couple weeks ago. At first it looked like nothing but charred ashes and dirt, with a few scorched green patches, and I was afraid I'd done something terrible. But then the sprouts emerged. Tender new leaves swarming the soil.
My brother and I were outside after dark the other day, to see if any lightning bugs would emerge yet. We had been working on digging the pond. That old soggy spot in the middle of the yard that we called "poor drainage," that always splattered mud over our legs when we ran across it as children—it isn't a failed lawn, and it never was.
Oh, we tried to fill in the mud puddles, even rented heavy machinery and graded the whole thing out, but the little wetland still remembered. God bless those indomitable puddles and wetlands and weeds, that in spite of our efforts to flatten out the differences that make each square meter of land unique from another, still declare themselves over and over to be what they are.
So we've been digging a hole. A wide, shallow hole, with an island in the middle.
And steadily, I've been transplanting in vegetation. At school there is a soggy field that sadly is mowed like any old field. The only pools where a frog could lay eggs are tire ruts. From this field I dig up big clumps of rushes and sedges, and nobody pays me any mind when I smuggle them home.
I pulled a little stick of shrubby willow from some cracked pavement near a creek, and planted it nearby. From a ditch on the side of the road beside a corn field, I dug up cattail rhizomes. Everywhere, tiny bits of wilderness, holding on.
I gathered up rotting logs small enough to carry and made a log pile beside the pond. At another corner is a rock pile. I planted some old branches upright in the ground to make a good place for birds and dragonflies to perch.
And there are so many birds! Mourning doves, robins, cardinals and grackles come here in much bigger numbers, and many, many finches and sparrows. I always hear woodpeckers, even a Pileated Woodpecker here and there. A pair of bluebirds lives here. There are three tree swallows, a barn swallow also, tons of chickadees, and there's always six or seven blue jays screaming and making a commotion. And the goldfinches! Yesterday I watched three brilliant yellow males frolic among the tall dandelions. They would hover above the grass and then drop down. One landed on a dandelion stem and it flopped over. There are several bright orange birds too. I think a couple of them are orioles, but there's definitely also a Summer Tanager. There's a pair of Canada Geese that always fly by overhead around the same time in the evening. It's like their daily commute.
The other day, as I watched, I saw a Cooper's Hawk swoop down and carry off a robin. This was horrifying news for the robin individually, but great news for the ecosystem. The food chain can support more links now.
There are two garter snakes instead of one, both of them fat from being good at snaking. I wonder if there will be babies?
But the biggest change this year is the bugs. It's too early for the lightning bugs, but all the same the yard is full of life.
It's like remembering something I didn't know I forgot. Oh. This is how it's supposed to be. I can't glance in any direction without seeing the movement of bugs. Fat crickets and earwigs scuttle underneath my rock piles, wasps flit about and visit the pond's shore, an unbelievable variety of flies and bees visit the flowers, millipedes and centipedes hide under the logs. Butterflies, moths, and beetles big and small are everywhere.
I can't even describe it in terms of individual encounters; they're just everywhere, hopping and fluttering away with every step. There are so many kinds of ants. I sometimes stare really closely at the ground to watch the activities of the ants. Sometimes they are in long lines, with two lanes of ants going back and forth, touching antennae whenever two ants traveling in opposite directions meet. Sometimes I see ants fighting each other, as though ant war is happening. Sometimes the ants are carrying the curled-up bodies of dead ants—their fallen comrades?
My neighbor gave me all of their fallen leaves (twelve bags!) and it turns out that piling leaves on top of a rock and log pile in a wet area summons an unbelievable amount of snails.
I always heard of snails as pests, but I have learned better. Snails move calcium through the food chain. Birds eat snails and use the calcium in their shells to make egg shells. In this way, snails lead to baby birds. I never would have known this if I hadn't set out to learn about snails.
In the golden hour of evening, bugs drift across the sky like golden motes of dust, whirling and dancing together in the grand dramas of their tiny lives. I think about how complicated their worlds are. After interacting with bees and wasps so much for so long, I'm amazed by how intelligent and polite they are. Bumble bees will hover in front of me, swaying side to side, or circle slowly around me several times, clearly perceiving some kind of information...but what? It seems like bees and wasps can figure out if you are a threat, or if you are peaceful, and act accordingly.
I came to a realization about wasps: when they dart at your head so you hear them buzzing close by your ears, they're announcing their presence. The proper response is to freeze and duck down a bit. It seems like wasps can recognize if you're being polite; for what it's worth, I've never been stung by a wasp.
As night falls, bats emerge and start looping and darting around in the sky above. If the yard seems full of bugs in the day, it is nothing compared to the night.
I'm aware that what I'm about to describe, to an entomophobe, sounds like a horror movie: when i walk to the back yard, the trees are audibly crackling and whirring with the activity of insects. Beetles hover among the branches of the trees. When we look up at the sky, moths of all sizes are flying hither and thither across it. A large, very striking white moth flies past low to the ground.
Last year, seeing a moth against the darkening sky was only occasional. Now there's so many of them.
I consider it in my mind:
When roads and houses are built and land is turned over to various human uses, potentially hundreds of native plant species are extirpated from that small area. But all of the Eastern USA has been heavily altered and destroyed.
Some plants come back easily, like wild blackberry, daisy fleabane, and common violets. But many of them do not. Some plants need fire to sprout, some need Bison or large birds to spread them, some need humans to harvest and care for them, some live in habitats that are frequently treated with contempt, some cannot bear to be grazed by cattle, some are suffocated beneath invasive Tall Fescue, Kentucky bluegrass, honeysuckle or Bradford pears, and some don't like being mowed or bushhogged.
Look at the landscape...hundreds and hundreds of acres of suburbs, pastures, corn fields, pavement, mowed verges and edges of roads.
Yes, you see milkweed now and then, a few plants on the edge of the road, but when you consider the total area of space covered by milkweed, it is so little it is nearly negligible. Imagine how many milkweed plants could grow in a single acre that was caretaken for their prosperity—enough to equal fifty roadsides put together!
Then I consider how many bugs are specialists, that can only feed upon a particular plant. Every kind of plant has its own bugs. When plant diversity is replaced by Plant Sameness, the bug population decreases dramatically.
Plant sameness has taken over the world, and the insect apocalypse is a result.
But in this one small spot, nature is healing...

the whole town had heard the stories. a monster who lived in the woods. woods that parents used to let their kids frolic in, now turned into a desolate area everyone steered clear of. there were the occasional hunters who brought back food for their families, but they never travelled too far past the less denser trees. a horror story. that’s what it was. one kids told others to freak them out in the dark. the beast with claws, fangs, and blood red eyes. he ate anyone who dared venture too far. at least that’s the story the townspeople were going with.
“oh please, there’s no such thing as that beast.” your mother says as she tucks your hair into your hood. your hands clutch a basket, filled with breads and pastries that you insisted on baking yourself. “now, head straight to grandmothers cottage. no dawdling.” she speaks sternly, knowing how easy your attention can sway. you nod, adjusting the red hood around yourself. your grandmother was sick. ill to the point of staying bedridden. she hadn’t wanted to die in this dirty town, as she had put it. she wanted to die peacefully, alone in the woods. your mother was against it, but ever since you were young every argument had always been won by your grandmother.
you make your way out the door, as your mother calls behind you ‘to be back before the sun sets’. you raise your hand to acknowledge her words as you continue on to the edge of the woods. you could hear the distant birds chirping, the woods looking far less scary than normally portrayed. the way the sun gleamed through the gaps between the trees was actually rather beautiful. with a growing smile you skipped over a small running lake, the wood’s animals darting away from your feet.
you made it through the first section of woods with ease, your lips pressed together in a hum. but the moment you edged into the shadier parts of the bush and shrub the singing birds had fallen silent. your own soft tune slowed too, as you gazed around. most hunters stopped here, where the denser trees casted heavier shadows. grandmothers cottage shouldn’t be far. she had chosen a spot in the midst of the forest, as far in as she could make it, without being too close to the fast rushing lake.
you switched hands, holding the basket as your feet softly slipped past large twigs, the grass now a dark shade as the sun became blocked by the heavy leaves. you spared a look up, seeing less animals scurrying about in the trees, and even less on the forest floor. and that’s when you hear it. the faint snap of a branch that has you spinning on your heels. but the moment you turn you’re pleasantly surprised to see a small patch of sunlight, almost acting like a spotlight on bundles of flowers.
the gorgeous colours made your feet move, crouching down as you brushed your hand over the different petals, the worry from the snap gone entirely. “she’d love some…” you speak to yourself, thinking of your grandmother. along with the bread, some flowers would do nicely. a pretty touch. don’t dawdle. you could hear your mothers voice. “it won’t take long.” you say softly, as you fully kneel and begin to pick some of the flowers. “what brings you here, little girl?” a low voice has you pausing, hand midway from picking a tulip. you swiftly turn on your knees and gaze up.
there, standing before you is a man. no…your eyes dart down to his flexing hands. claws. you shift your gaze back up to his slightly shadowed face. and as he takes a step closer to you your breathing gets caught. fangs and red eyes. you stare at him, your body seemingly frozen. “well?” he asks, his tongue moving to run along his lower lip as he stares down at you. you rush to a stance, quickly looking around for your basket. “you make these yourself?” he speaks again, and you shift your gaze back to him to see him holding up your basket.
you’re hesitant to grab it off him, hesitant to even speak. “you’re a quiet thing, aren’t you?” his tone has shifted a fraction. his view of you originally being ‘intruder’, now instead…something else. something…small. something that smells so so sweet. “can you…can you give that back please?” your voice is so soft. almost like a caress to him. this only makes him tighten his hold on your basket. he keeps his eyes on you as he grabs out one of your pastries. he takes a bite as you hold back your protest. “mm.” he hums, still keeping those red eyes on you. “so…sweet…delicious.” he licks the small crumbs off his lower lip, giving you another view of his fangs. his eyes haven’t strayed from you. and the way he stated those words of praise. you had an uncomfortable feeling that he wasn’t praising the food. you carefully reach over, stepping closer to take the basket off him. “those aren’t for you.”
he watches as you near, letting you take the basket. he then leans down to your height, making your body stiffen. “what a shame.” his hand moves up to brush away a strand of hair, before his claw flips your hood down. he drags that same claw over you cheek, just feeling your skin. “maybe i’ll just have to try something else.” at first you don’t catch the look of hunger in his eyes, before his hand is drawing you closer by your neck. with wide eyes, you try and struggle away from him. “no, please, you don’t have to eat me. i’m…i won’t taste very good.” you try and persuade him, thinking him licking his fangs is a sign that he wants to kill you.
but he just chuckles, slipping that hand at the back of your neck, down your spine, making you straighten. his claws slip past your dress and coat, softly scratching at your back as he draws you closer to his large frame. “eat you?” he practically coos. “why would i eat you?” he’s still stroking the skin of your cheek, before he tilts your chin further up. “because…because you’re a…monster.” you tilt your head further back to get away from his grip, but he’s then picking you up, hiking your skirt along your thighs as you gasp and instinctively grab onto his shoulders.
“now that’s a little rude. you don’t even know me.” he says, claws nearly sinking into your legs, keeping you straddled around him as you do your best to try and struggle free. “i know of you. the beast in the woods. the one who eats those who trespass.” you breath out, gripping the material of his shirt tighter as you wriggle. his grip on you only harshens at your movements, as he manhandles you over his shoulder. you screech, your hits on his back doing nothing. with the fast flip, and the state that your dress was already in, your panties are now on display. cute, innocent panties that have easily captured the attention of the monster.
he tilts his head as he stares at your covered pussy, his mouth already salivating. “maybe i do eat those who venture too far into the woods.” he plays along with your fear, as his hand pushes your dress even farther over your ass. “no—“ but your words cut short when you feel two claws run right down the middle of your panties. your hips shift as you bite your lower lip harshly. “please…” your anger has dissipated, leaving you with only your fear. “begging already?” he coos, sticking his two claws right against where your entrance is. he can see the stain beginning to form. you’re soaked, and the sight makes his grip on you tighten.
he suddenly flips you back around, manhandling you onto the ground, where the shadows create a little nook. his hands are fast as he rips the cotton of your panties. “what are you—“ you try but choke on your words the minute the monster slips two of his fingers inside you. your legs shake as you push up on your elbows. the sound of his fingers going in and out of you is embarrassing. you grab at his wrist, your legs already shaking as you try not to succumb to the immediate pleasure you had begun to feel.
“n-no.” you breathe. “yes.” he breathes back, curling his fingers inside you. any further words are choked, as your lips part in a pathetic whimper. “aw.” he coos, now holding you down with his other hand on your stomach. “stop…no—god.” your pleas fall on deaf ears. “yeah…you’ll do nicely.” he hums, continuing to fuck you with his long fingers. too long, in your opinion. his claws scrap against your already sensitive insides, as you squirm on the ground.
your cheeks and nose are flushed, your mismatched breath almost egging him on. “stop squirming or maybe i will have to eat you.” those words have you pausing, fists clenching around the grass. “please…” you gulp out, stomach contracting. but all the beast does is finger you harder, pushing at your thighs so he can get a good look at what a mess he’s already made of you. and just as you’re about to cum, your legs shaking, he pulls away. this fact seems to make you squirm again, as he pushes you completely onto the ground, before fully hiking your dress up and over your breasts.
“i’m only inspecting you, sweetheart. not to give you pleasure. so, stay. still.” he speaks as his hands grab at your breasts, beginning to squeeze and fondle them as he pleases. he bounces them, while pinching your nipples, as you try to gulp down any arousal you still feel. “you’re a very pretty girl, aren’t you little red?” he hums, glancing at the red hood surrounding you on the ground. “tell me, why aren’t you some hunter looking to kill tiny animals?” he hums out as he keeps playing with your breasts, pushing them together, before circling your nipples.
through hard breathes you manage “i’m going to see my…my grandmother.” the monster grins. “with these breads? how sweet of you.” he coos, as he nudged your legs apart again, flicking at your clit experimentally, as he keeps playing with your tits. “i don’t usually get little things wandering into my forest. and certainly not this far in.” he then catches your gaze as he leans towards you. “now be a good girl f’me, and flip over.” he whispers, so close to your lips. after your pause he continues. “eating you is still an option. i haven’t had something delicious in a whi—“
but he’s cut off as you quickly turn around on the ground, his grip on your hips keeping them raised, as he grins. “that’s it…” you’re now pressed up against the grass, your ass stuck out for him as he taps at your pussy, making you jolt a fraction. “you’re rather tiny…” his tone gives away that he likes this fact, his fingers spreading your pussy lips as you then feel something hard pressed against your clit. you can’t see him, but can instantly tell what he’s about to do. you grip the grass again, looking for stability in this unstable situation.
from the taps of his cock against your pussy you can feel how weighted it is. the hint at his size making your fear accelerate. he then begins to push the head of his cock into your entrance making a small cry leave you. and once he begins to rut into you relentlessly, your body moving along the ground at his harsh thrusts, your mind turns dizzy. your lips parting as you claw at the grass, ripping out strands. “are you drooling, sweetheart?” he hums. “open your mouth wider, let me see.” he gazes at your face, pushed up against the ground, as he fucks you from behind.
you slowly open your mouth, as his fingers slip down and drag at the flesh of your inside bottom lip. “just as soaked as your cunt is, huh?” he then begins to play with your tongue, coating your spit over his claws and fingers. “making such a mess.” he coos, as his balls slap against your clit making a small whimper fall past his fingers. his free hand grips your hair, pulling your head slightly back as his cock goes deeper, making you cry out, drooling even more over his fingers. “how bout this…” he says, a little breathless from how well your hole is taking him. “your grandma can have your breads and pastries.” he glances at the basket, haphazardly thrown to the side. “and i can have you.”
he sticks his fingers further into your mouth until you’re practically gagging, your tits bouncing as he thrusts his hips into you. “that sounds fair doesn’t it?” he’s nodding, licking at his lower lip as he murmurs “dios…” you can hear his breathing change, showing he’s getting close. as his cock twitches inside you, he pulls out, bringing you around to kneeling by the grip of his fingers in your mouth. he holds your mouth wide open as he rests his cock on your tongue. “give it a lick, little red.” he’s so close. with drool coating your lower lip in a shimmer, and his fingers hooked inside, you drag your tongue over the tip of his cock, as his hips shudder, finally spilling down your throat.
he makes a mess of your mouth, your only solution being to swallow. you gulp down as much as you can, though some spill out due to the unwavering grip of his fingers in your mouth. he stares down at you, a new emotion behind his eyes, that says more than a passing hunger. he grabs your chin and leans down to lick the remaining mix of cum and drool off your lips. your mind is reeling, this whole situation feeling like a fever dream.
“i’m sure your grandmother is worried about you.” he hums, running his thumb over your chin and swollen lips. “you should get going. and don’t forget the pretty flowers.” his words are far too sinister to make you stand with a skip in your step. as he soothes your dirty dress down and fixes your hood, his cock away as if nothing had happened. he hands you back your basket, your shaky hands gripping it. “now run along, little girl. and please do remember to visit your poor, sick grandmother more often.”
it was a demand. not a suggestion.

Woman in the Meadows
Garden of Eden,
city of god, descended afar,
awake in arms, breathe in wings,
nature springs.
You fly into stars,
you sit in meadows,
scented by petals
from flowers you pick,
a picnic in the soft grass.
Your soles, your soul,
light on toes,
through trails you sing,
pick daffodils,
melodies trailing back.
With loving hands
you frolic,
fingertips lend touch
to blooms in your paradise.
The garden, with your pair of eyes,
even when it’s hard to see,
blinded by light, asking the sky,
“Is anyone looking at me?”
Chatterbox, syllables loud,
headsets, pamphlets out,
“as you can see, ladies and gentlemen…”
In the painting, legend says,
she lived beyond the meadows,
dancing with petals,
forever searching.
Framed on painted walls,
in the silence of passing shoes—
no flash, no touch,
no interruption.
The legend lives on
in heads that sprawl,
as you did in those meadows,
catching butterflies,
spinning without Juilliard or stage,
no ballerina.
Studied by scholars, known in fables,
her story taught in history’s tales,
bloomed in rooms, consumed by listening ears,
the teacher grabs our eyes—
she says, “as the story goes…”
The woman in the meadows,
with her almond brown locks
and gardened petals,
never lost,
only found in gardens
where her dreams cradled in song,
mornings long,
and her face kissed by the sun,
clouds of none.
Her spirit welcomed by the breeze,
searching her skin,
as cherubs cater to the winds.
The woman in the meadows
dances till it ends,
hears the rivers bend,
as they say,
the woman in the meadows,
her raison d’être,
the garden that confessed to her
their love and need
for the woman in the meadows.
Pages flipped to finished,
held by the back cover,
our eyes let go
with our teacher’s mouth closed.
The story ran to its end,
our hearts filled cold,
bones sold,
and the chalice of hope emptied.
She lived in words,
the ones we remembered,
and others rehearsed.
We’ll never see her—
only in walls, in words, in minds—
the woman of the meadows,
lived in a place only our ears will ever see,
while our eyes remain faithfully blind.

The Bad Batch Flower Field Scenarios!!
Tumblr media
it's my bday week and i felt like writing smth cute soo
You and the Batch take a trip to a peaceful planet with vast, blooming fields! All scenarios are romantic except Omega’s!
pairings: the batch x fem!reader (i mean it could be gender neutral if u squint?)
warnings: none, just fluff :)
Hunter
Tumblr media
You walked far out into the tall grasses, sticking your hand out slightly to the side to feel them brush against your fingers as the wind pushed them to and fro. You closed your eyes and inhaled deeply, enjoying the sounds of the quiet rustling of vegetation and the calming chirps of birds.
A clearing of the throat came from behind you. It broke your moment of enjoyment, but when you turned around to see who it was, you didn’t mind at all.
Hunter stood tall with his hands behind his back. He wore a sort of stunned look on his face as he stared at you, and his hair had been slightly tousled from the wind, but you couldn’t have imagined him looking any better.
“Hello, dear,” you said softly, your voice almost a whisper.
He gulped, you could see his throat bob up and down slightly.
“...I picked these out for you,” he murmured before moving his hands from behind his back to show a bundle of delicate, yellow wildflowers. “These ones smelled the best, so–”
You interrupted him by placing your hands gently on either side of his face. You pulled him in for a tender kiss, and smiled so widely your cheeks started to ache. His gesture left you speechless, and you found that this was the only way to express how you felt in the moment.
“You’re welcome,” he managed to say, smiling back at you.
You took the bundle of flowers into your hands and brought them close to smell them. He was right, these flowers’ pleasant fragrance filled your sinuses, and you let out a happy sigh.
“I love you,” you whispered.
“Ditto,” he chuckled as he grabbed you by the waist to give you a peck to the forehead.
(please someone tell me u got the reference😭)
Crosshair
Tumblr media
Crosshair stood on the steps of the Marauder with a toothpick in between his lips as he watched you dance and twirl through the grass and flowers. He couldn’t help but let out a little huff of amusement; your giggles were contagious.
You, on the other hand, didn’t even notice he stood there watching you. You were too busy spinning around and laughing at nothing. The opportunity to frolic in a beautiful and vast field such as this didn’t come around too often. You had to take advantage of it.
You finally stopped and simply collapsed onto the grass. You stared up at the fluffy clouds in the sky, grateful that they blocked the sun from blinding you.
Crosshair, after seeing you fall down, became worried that you might have passed out for some reason. He approached you and let out a quiet sigh when he saw that you were, in fact, not passed out.
“Oh! Crosshair! Lay down with me!” You pat the ground next to you, gesturing that you wanted him to be there with you.
His eyes shifted to his surroundings, then to you. He sat down beside you and he seemed sort of.. uneasy.
“Something wrong, hon?”
“No, nothing’s wrong. But that’s exactly what’s wrong,” he muttered.
You turned to lay on your side and propped your head up on your palm.
“Something has to go wrong,” he continued, almost sinisterly. “I can feel it. It’s too peaceful here. Something will go terribly wro–”
“Shh! Something bad will happen if you keep thinking about it,” you interrupted him. You could kind of see where he was coming from, but it saddened you a little to know that he felt like that.
You took his hand in yours, giving it a little squeeze. You placed your other hand on his chest, very gently pushing him down to lay against the grass. “Just relax.. Breathe… Enjoy this moment while you can,” you said calmly, hoping that you could ease his worries. “We’re gonna be okay.”
He smiled weakly up at you and nodded his head. He closed his eyes and you could see his tense muscles relax gradually.
You wrapped your arm around him and rested your head on his shoulder as you closed your eyes as well. You both stayed like that for a long while, bathing in the warmth of each other and the feeling of safety.
Tech
Tumblr media
You wandered out of the ship with your fingers intertwined with Tech’s. You looked over to him and, much to your surprise, his face hadn’t been buried in his datapad. Still, you noticed it hung from his utility belt.
During your trek, he would occasionally point out a bug he saw and explain the many aspects of it to you. You always found his little ramblings to be quite endearing, even if the topics he spoke of didn’t always engage you fully.
Suddenly, he stopped in his tracks. Your steps came to a stop as well and you turned to look at him curiously.
“Look,” he murmured, pointing the index finger of his free hand at a flower with a dainty, yet magnificent butterfly. Its wings were a vibrant black and yellow, and you couldn’t help but let out a quiet “Ooh” despite having a small distaste for bugs and insects.
“That is papilio zelicaon, or more commonly known as an anise swallowtail,” he explained. “Take a look at the blue spots on the bottom of its wings.”
You leaned forward slightly and squinted your eyes, nodding your head when you saw the characteristic he pointed out. Its wings seemed to almost shimmer as they fluttered slowly. “This butterfly is beautiful,” you breathed in awe.
“It is incomparable to you,” he said smoothly as the two of you watched the swallowtail take off to the skies. You tried to bite back your smile, but it still showed.
Your walk with Tech resumed, and you looked around the field curiously until a plant caught your eye. You were unsure as to what it was, but it was eye-catching nonetheless. You let go of Tech’s hand and knelt down to get a closer look at the flower. The feeling of your hand leaving him caught him a little off guard.
“Tech, what’s this?” You looked up at him, with a little spark of curiosity in your eyes. It was clear to him now that you were more interested in flora than bugs.
“That is coreopsis tinctoria, better known as plains coreopsis.” He knelt down beside you to look at it as well. “The coreopsis tinctoria is widely abundant, especially in plains and fields. The vibrant colors of the petals were once used for dyes, and since they are edible, they were also used to be infused with water.”
“My genius,” you sighed sweetly. You gave him a playful peck to the forehead.
He turned his gaze to the ground and adjusted his goggles’ position awkwardly. You could tell he was a little flustered, and it made you laugh lightly.
You picked one of the flowers before standing up, and he followed suit. You took hold of his hand like you did before and held out the flower you picked with a grin on your face.
“Here you go.”
“Oh. Thank you,” he replied succinctly, taking the flower into his free hand. You both continued your stroll through the field until the sky turned to a speckled navy blue, and you noticed that he kept the flower in his hand the entire time.
Echo
Tumblr media
You dashed out of the ship almost as soon as it landed, running off far into the field. You dropped to your knees after finding a patch of pretty flowers and you began to pick them like there was no tomorrow. You weaved the stems of the various flowers until you created a ring of vibrant colors from red to white.
“What do you have there?” a familiar voice asked from behind you.
You turned your head around and grinned when you saw that it was Echo.
“It’s a flower crown,” you replied excitedly. “It was actually meant for you, so,” you stood up and dusted yourself off before placing the flower crown around his head, “here you go!” You stepped back and looked him up and down before nodding your head. “Yup, looks amazing,” you chuckled.
He reached up to feel the crown and adjusted it slightly. He smiled at you and nodded his head gratefully. “Thanks, cyare.”
You stepped close to him and gave him a tender kiss to the cheek.
“Can I watch you make another one?”
The question surprised you a little; you didn’t expect him to ask you a question like that. “Oh, sure! I need your help choosing flowers to use, though.”
He nodded eagerly and linked his right arm with your left as you both searched the field for flowers you liked.
Finally, you finished picking flowers. You found a place on the ground to sit and started to put them all together into one ring just like you had done with the crown atop Echo’s head.
“You basically have to take the stems of the flowers and weave them together.. Like you’re braiding someone’s hair, but with flower stems,” you tried to explain to him. He sat with his full attention turned to you. He wasn’t even really paying attention to the flower crown, just you and the way the wind moved your hair to cover your face slightly.
“Then, you have to add another flower–” He reached out and gently tucked your hair behind your ears. “Oh, haha, thanks,” you laughed. You could feel your skin grow warmer, so you looked back down at the flower crown to hide it.
The flower crown was finished a few minutes later, and you set it on your own head. “Now we’re matching!” You smiled so brightly it seemed to outshine the sun.
“You’re beautiful,” he said quietly before cupping your cheek with his hand and pulling you in to give you a soft kiss.
Wrecker
Tumblr media
When the ship touched down on the flowery planet, you and Wrecker walked out of the ship excitedly. You both carried out items to use for your picnic.
“It’s so nice out here..” You let out an awe-filled sigh as you looked out at the colorful flowers that bloomed in pretty little patches throughout the entirety of the field. The weather felt just perfect, and the fact that Wrecker was with you made everything even better.
“You can say that again,” he laughed, taking your hand in his as you scouted out for a nice flat area to set up your picnic.
Once you found a suitable area, you spread out a large cloth on the ground and sat down, patting the space next to you to get Wrecker to sit beside you. He did so and placed the box of snacks in the small space between the two of you. He opened it and handed you a sandwich before grabbing one for himself.
You had made the sandwiches for this picnic, but there was nothing special about them. If anything, they were subpar. You made them out of discounted bread, thin, almost soggy pieces of lettuce, and some cheap meats that you got from a shady stall on Ord Mantell. Despite this, you still found Wrecker chowing down on them and enjoying them.
You took a bite out of yours and frowned as you chewed slowly. You struggled to swallow your bite and looked up at Wrecker worriedly.
“I’m sorry I couldn’t make anything nicer than this,” you mumbled, a little upset with what you made. You almost couldn’t believe that he could eat these sandwiches with such ease.
“You kiddin’? These are the best sandwiches I’ve ever had!”
You gave him a look of suspicion and now you felt even worse. He was just saying that to make you feel better.
It’s almost like he read your mind, as he started to console you. “It's the thought that really counts! Makes everything a whole lot better knowing that you made these for me,” he said sincerely, hoping that his words helped. “I mean, you could’ve skipped out on sandwiches,” he continued, “but you didn’t! You put in the extra effort to make these! That’s what makes it taste good, not the stuff inside it!”
He grinned at you and your heart melted. You wondered how you got so lucky to have a guy like Wrecker in your corner.
“Thanks, love,” you murmured. You leaned your head on his shoulder, letting out a sigh of contentment as your body relaxed against his. He wrapped his arm around your waist and pulled you in closer so he could kiss the top of your head.
“I’ll eat yours if you don’t finish it.” He nodded his head towards the sandwich you took a bite out of earlier.
“Please,” you laughed as you handed it to him.
Omega
Tumblr media
You ran through the boundless field, panting and laughing as you kept your eye on Omega as she ran in front of you. You never thought it’d be so difficult to play tag.
You reached your arm out and urged your legs to move a little faster until your fingertip finally poked the back of Omega.
“Tag!” you shouted out, turning and sprinting in the opposite direction as fast as you could.
You could hear Omega’s fast footsteps gaining on you, and you were already tired from trying to tag her, so it would be fairly easy for her to tag you back. You ran in zig-zags, hoping to throw her off a little, but she kept up.
Eventually, Omega got impatient with all the running, so she leapt forward and landed on you. She tackled you down to the floor and could barely call out “Tag” in between laughs.
“Hey! I thought we ruled out tackling each other,” you chuckled as you both sat upright, using this much needed moment to catch your breath. “Jeez, I didn’t know you could run like that.. You’re killing me!”
“I’m not even tired,” she replied proudly, straightening her posture.
“Pssht– Yeah, right!” You rolled your eyes and laughed a little.
“So, what are we gonna play next? More tag?” she asked energetically. You truly did not know how someone could have such an immense store of energy.
You shook your head tiredly. “No, no.. No more tag..” You couldn’t help but be honest with her. Playing tag with Omega was like chasing a wild kaadu. “Hmm… Well, if you’re still in the mood to run, why don’t we get the others to play duck-duck-goose? It’s a bit easier than tag.”
“Duck-duck-goose? What’s that?”
“I’ll tell you later. Race you to the ship!” You stood and hurried to go back to the ship.
“Hey! You got a head start!” she yelled as she scrambled to her feet to run after you.
After gathering the rest of the team, you told them how to play the game and the rules. After making sure everyone understood, Omega started off.
“Duck.. duck.. goose!” She tapped Hunter’s shoulder, and he quickly stood to run after Omega. He was obviously shortening his steps to make the game more challenging for himself, but he ended up tagging Omega before she got back to Hunter’s place on the ground anyway.
The game continued on until everyone had run at least three times. They all seemed to be slightly winded, but having fun nonetheless.
