Hankcon Bingo Interest Check (and Mod introduction!)

Greetings, everyone! My name is Hemlock (She/They) and I am the new mod for the Hankcon Bingo account! 💙

As a big Hankcon fan, I am happy to help with the running of such an important event. Though I have taken part in many fun fandom events over the years, including Hankcon ones, this is my first time taking a moderator role so please bear with me. 😅

To start things off, I hope to gauge any interest in Hankcon Bingo for this year. If anyone is interested in taking part in a Hank x Connor themed bingo (or even casual little prompt fests peppered throughout the year,) please feel free to fill in the attached interest check and share with any fellow Hankcon shippers that might be interested.

Ship Sunday: Connor/Hank Anderson

Today, we’re highlighting HankCon, the pairing of detective Hank Anderson and his android partner Connor from the game Detroit: Become Human.

Hank and Connor's buddy-cop dynamic quickly made them a favorite duo for fans, with many viewing their relationship as one of, if not the most, well-written parts of the game. Fanworks for the pairing usually feature classic tropes like Hurt/Comfort and slow burn, as well as more kinky ones like Wireplay.

Although HankCon is the juggernaut ship of the fandom, it is also a controversial one, as some fans prefer to interpret their relationship as a platonic (pseudo) father/son relationship, while others feel uncomfortable with the supposed large age-gap between the two.

No sign-ups are required to take part. You are welcome to create for as many or as few prompts as you like, and even combine prompts if the inspiration takes you. This is a nice, relaxed mini event to celebrate our bot boy’s big day before the big bingo. 💙

My brain just produced the single most delicious Detroit: become human whump imaginable.

Imagine, if you will, big fat Alpha Hank (chef‘s kiss fucking delicious old big dick Hank) getting kidnapped during a big stake out during *insert case here*.

Subsequent 👌months👌 of getting brutally bitched by other Alphas until when finally he gets rescued his body has just become so… ✨deliciously✨ omega.

Connor of course is just stupid happy to have his human back. But then he‘s also low key high key 👀 at Hank‘s new situation. Only Hank is absolutely destroyed and he won‘t be able to do anything about it for forever anyway 🥵.

this may be a strange detail to love, but I really loved the way you incorporated the weather, the climate, the clouds and the rain in eversion. it's left a real impression on the story for me. so now, whenever there is a rainstorm outside, i feel homesick for eversion and i want to re-read it again. thank you for your stories!

Honestly, anon, it makes me so happy that you've pointed this out, because the ability of the weather in that story to create ambience and mood (especially given it's a dystopian / advanced climate change weather system) was one of my favourite things to write.

I remember sometimes feeling like the weather was its own character in the story, sometimes quiet, sometimes very imposing. That it had changed enough that people are just now naturally growing tropical species in their gardens, or having to genetically modify plants to be able to handle the increased humidity and rain.

Idk, I'm obsessed with clouds (a cloud photo I took outside is literally my userpic here), and weather systems in general, and while I like incorporating weather overall, I think Eversion was the first time I could really exaggerate it and lean into it. And that was very much a personal indulgence and I didn't think many other people would think much of it.

So anyway, getting this ask makes me extremely happy, because I personally don't think it's weird at all, and I'm just sdalfkjsa so glad it came across! <3
